Simms overrides the control to all of the cameras and focuses it on himself.

“Look.  I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but you were supposed to see what the heck was past that phenomenon.  But it doesn’t look like you’re up to this mission, even after trapping all those augers from the previous mission.  Breaking contact.”

And with that, Simms takes the plug out of a remote before the signal turns to static.
