Pinkie exited the castle and awaited her friends. She sighed the smell of changelings had grown stronger. She looked up to see the princess, she quickly realised that the smell was coming from her. She thought (I will have keep an eye out for any suspicious behaviour in case it leads us to the real princess).She quickly galloped back into the castle.

Pinkie galloped back to the Hive, Luna asked “Back so soon?”

Pinkie said “The bride has been kidnapped, there is a changeling taking her place. I think it’s my mother.”

Luna said darkly “First she killed my mother, now my niece Cadence has been kidnapped!? I will deal with her later.”

Pinkie shook her head as she sent a message through the hive mind “Keep an eye out for suspicious behaviour we have no idea where Princess Cadence is.”

Her changelings responded “Yes mother, we won’t fail.”

Pinkie smiled as she replied “I know you won’t.” Pinkie returned upstairs and saw her friends in the hallway. She galloped after them.

Twilight asked “Where did you go?”

Pinkie replied “I had some business with Princess Luna.” Pinkie saw the frozen glare she received from Cadence, that just confirmed her suspicions, the only creature capable of filling a glare with such malice was her mother. She smirked back letting her mother know she was not scared.

The fake Cadence hid her outrage as she thought (How dare my daughter oppose me, it’s bad enough she cut herself off from the hive mind.) Pinkie glared at the fake Cadence as she set up the balloons and a copy of the Pony Pokey. Twilight noticed something was off about Pinkie. It was a sense of unease at first but it became clear something didn’t add up as Cadence and Pinkie often exchanged glares.

Pinkie kept a close eye on the imposter and notices that she chucked some of Applejack’s apple fitters in the bin. She also noticed that the imposter’s green magic which was clearly changeling in origin. After she had finished her preparations, she met with her friends. Twilight said “I can’t believe how ungrateful Cadence is being, she was never like this when she was foalsitting me.”

Pinkie thought (I can’t believe my mother is being so reckless. She must be blinded by power, she used to be always careful to perfect her disguises.)

Rarity said “It’s probably just stress, getting married is stressful.” Pinkie nodded in unison, she didn’t want to push too far. Her mother was a complication but she would deal with it should it arise to be a problem.

Pinkie returns to the underground caverns and arrives to meet with Luna. Pinkie asked “I’m curious how did you know your mother ?”

Luna replied “I didn’t, all I knew was what my father told me which was she was killed by Chrysalis.”

Pinkie said “I hope she has mellowed a bit since then, still I’m a little worried Twilight may do something reckless.”

Luna asked “Why?”

Pinkie said angrily “My mother is being cocky, her behaviour is so unlike Cadence enough that Twilight has picked up on it, she has even failed to disguise her magic which is stupid, it take 10% extra energy but in her position she is full of love so she could easily afford the extra expenditure.”

Pinkie slept in her hive that night, hoping things would go well tomorrow morning. As soon as she woke she felt a sense of unease fill her, she knew there would be a lot of drama today. Pinkie new today was the rehearsal, she galloped to find Rarity panicking about her dress. Rarity sees her and quickly puts her dress on much to her confusion, then Rarity and her go to the fake Cadence’s side.

They were just about to start when Twilight barged in and started shouting at Cadence, Pinkie frowned deeply as Cadence ran away in tears. Pinkie thought (What a bunch of hooey, she is just pretending to be upset).

Everypony started to leave, Rarity shouted “Are you coming?”

Pinkie said “I will talk to Twilight she has to understand the repercussions of what she has done.” She noticed Twilight was in the middle of a mental breakdown. She put a hoof on her wither and said “Twilight ,there is something wrong with Cadence but it’s above your capability to deal with. You played a losing hand in a very deadly game. I am waiting until I have a winning hand before playing.”

Twilight asked “What do you mean, what’s wrong with Cadence?”

Pinkie said “Don’t tell anypony I told you this but she is not Cadence, don’t ask how I know. Trust me Twilight there will be a time when you will get the answers you seek but know is not that time.”

Pinkie left the room as she sent a message to the messengers portion of the Hive You need to send a message to the changeling Hive Mind Mail Centre on express, we tell them that we may need to publicly reveal our hive because Canterlot may be invaded by Changelings.

Pinkie headed back to the wedding and made sure the preparations were ready. She got in the dress Rarity made as she headed to the wedding. She stood there and looked around, she knew Twilight was not there and it made her uneasy. She was worried by what Chrysalis may have done. She stayed calm and watched the imposter closely.

The vows were about be exchanged when Twilight barged through the door with the real Cadence. Pinkie smiled as her mother was in trouble now. She watched in shock as her mother broke her disguise and said “I am Queen Chrysalis, my hive has been love starved, so I am taking all of your love to feed my children.”

Pinkie thought (That can’t be right, she'd have plenty of stores I was producing enough love to feed the hive for the next one thousand years.)

Celestia roared “You have made a fatal mistake angering me.” She watched as Celestia fired her magic at her mother, only for her mother prove to be victorious. She watched as thousands of changelings bared their exit.

Chrysalis snarled “Put everypony in cocoons except the pink one.” Pinkie watched as her friends as well as Cadence and Celestia were taken into a different room. She was alone in a room full of changelings. She transformed back into her changeling form, which towered over her mother. Chrysalis said “Impressive, you have grown.”

Pinkie snarled “You shouldn’t have attacked, this is destined to fail.”

Chrysalis replied “I needed love and Canterlot will provide it for me. Join me our family will rule Canterlot.”

Pinkie smirked “I guess it’s time for me to inform you that you are breaking the Changeling code by invading?” Chrysalis blinked before a loud amount of noise rushed down the hallway. The door was forced open by several thousand pink changelings bearing Pinkie Pie’s Cutie Mark on their flanks. The largest were easily twice Chrysalis’s size while the smallest were equal in height.

Chrysalis gasped “You started your own hive, oh I’ve really screwed up haven’t I.”

A voice said “Yes you have.”

Chrysalis looked over to see Princess Luna walk in. Chrysalis asked “What does she have to do this, Pinkie?” Pinkie nods at Luna and she reveals her true form, her wings glow a light blue colour, and her body covered largely by fur but with holes in legs, and a crooked changeling horn on her forehead.

Chrysalis asked “A half-breed, when, how?”

Luna said calmly “A Queen, you killed my mother if I remember correctly.” Chrysalis realised what she meant and stared at her hooves.

Pinkie said “Mother, my changelings will return underground then you will free all you captured and leave.”

Chrysalis said “Very well my daughter, I don’t think this will mean much to you but you’ve made me proud.” Pinkie nods as her mother, gives out the orders, while Pinkie’s changelings return underground. Pinkie and Luna reassume their disguises as they wait for everypony to be released.
