A Broken Hourglass
It hasn't been very long since Kitty found peace. Only a week ago, he came back to the present. But it went very well. Ponies accepted him, he had a place.
But he didn't have a purpose. He didn't have a reason of being. Ponies have cutie marks, but the giant cat didn't have anything to ground himself.
He didn't really care. The ponies near him grounded him, reminded him of how to act. But is that right?
One event is all it takes for Kitty to learn a new lesson. And in his learning, Celestia receives a question that she never had to answer before.
Is it right for something not a pony to become just like a pony?
Perhaps. Perhaps not. Does it depend on the creature? Does it depend on what is known and unknown? Or is it something simple?
Kitty has the real choice to make. Denial of self is only that: denial. True choice means knowing.
And sometimes knowing is enough to break everything that one has worked toward. One bit of knowledge tears apart a reality and remakes it into something new.
Kitty needs to know.
But will he survive it?
