She listened to Applejack’s every whispered word, and found a blush appearing on her own face. Once the farmer was done, her face a brighter red than ever, the Rarity cleared her throat. “I... I see. Well. I do believe I can still help you! I assume you need this by tonight?” She asked, to which Applejack nodded. Rarity grinned, ideas filling her head. “Oh, the things I could do... hmm. Then we can tackle your mane!” Rainbow Dash waited outside of Applejack’s window, having knocked moments before. Before long, a pair of orange hooves lifted the window, but only a crack. Frowning, Rainbow poked at it again. “Hey Applejack, what gives?” “Ah’m only letting you in if y’close your eyes, Dash!” Rainbow blinked. “What the hay? Why?” “Ah did this for you, let me at least show it off my way!” Rainbow grinned. This sounded fun. “Okay. Just grab my hoof and guide me in.” She said, before smirking as she closed her eyes. Applejack had actually gone through with the idea. This was bound to be hilarious. Applejack guided the pegasus to the bed, and instructed her to lay down. Rainbow complied, the back of her head falling onto the pillow. She heard the sound of hooves on the floor, before Applejack spoke again, from slightly further away. “Okay, you can open yer eyes now.” Rainbow did so, looking around at what looked like an empty room. She then spotted four orange hooves sticking out from under the wardrobe’s open door. “Come out, come out, wherever you are!” Rainbow sang, grinning. “Sh-shut up. They pushed it open, covering both directions as they entered together, sweeping the area as if it was their talent. With the coast clear, they snuck to the main lobby of the home, where the fashionista was working. Here was the toughest part of the operation. To get upstairs to Rarity’s room, they had to go through this lobby... and risk being seen by their friend. But where there’s a will, there’s a way. How?” “We need to... water them.” “Water-ew!” Applejack’s face twisted in disgust. “Y’mean to say rainfall is pegasus-piss?” Rainbow snorted. “No! Well. Not all of it. Just a tiny part!” Rainbow rolled her eyes. “I mean, it’s not like Cloudsdale has plumbing.” “Yuck. Too much information, Dash.” Rainbow shrugged. “That’s also not the type of water I meant.” “Eh? What else is there?” Rainbow’s cheeks brightened as she leaned closer to the farmer. “Well, the clouds just need a little... lubricant.” “Lubri-” Applejack’s eyes widened at Rainbow’s increasingly wide leer. “Yer pulling my leg.” “I promise. Pushing clouds around was more exhausting than most earthbound ponies knew, and she'd done more than her fair share that day - Blossomforth was once again sick, so Rainbow had needed to cover her section. She was so, so very looking forward to a nap once she got to her cloudhouse. As she neared her home, she glanced at the ground below it, checking the mailbox below. A quick look to see whether its cutie mark flag was up, signifying the presence of any mail. However, she could not see it today. The entire mailbox was covered with something brown, and very, very familiar. A stetson hat. Her eyes widened, and she aimed her flight downwards, landing gently next to the hat. She lifted it off of its resting place, taking a moment to inhale. Earth and dust. Dear Celestia, it still smelled like her. She set the hat on her head, and flew back up to her home. Now, more than ever, she'd need that nap. She'd need the energy for when night fell. She just hoped she wasn't too excited to sleep. Applejack grinned as she heard the sound of wingbeats, stretching out to languidly lay out on the Cutie Mark Crusader’s clubhouse bed. The fillies had installed it some months ago, in case they wanted to spend the night there, instead of having to roll out a sleeping bag every time. But right now, it was a picture of equine divinity, as Applejack’s body lay on the bed, stretched out, with hairties undone and her mane spread out over her back. Celestia be damned, at that moment, Applejack was the hottest pony alive. It held for a good minute, until they separated, slightly out of breath. “Are you kidding? I wouldn’t miss this for the world.” As Rainbow lifted a hoof to Applejack’s hat, the orange mare stopped her with her own hoof, shaking her head. “Keep it on, Sugar. Tonight, Ah’m making you sing.” Rainbow shuddered as the words met her ears. The throaty, purring tone Applejack had used was already enough to drive Rainbow wild. Knowing what was coming next was even better. She stepped onto the bed as Applejack stood up, making room for the pegasus to lay down on her stomach. Applejack slowly circled the other pony, until she was facing Rainbow’s back. She smirked at the rainbow tail’s twitchiness, then stepped forward until her hooves surrounded Rainbow’s body, looming over her lover. She bent her head, blowing warm air onto the pegasus’ ears, then gently nipped it as it flicked under the hat. Rainbow’s breath caught in a strangled mewl, clearly already enjoying herself. Yet Applejack hadn’t even truly started. She released the ear, and whispered into it. “Spread ‘em for me, Dash.” Applejack stepped back, allowing Rainbow to slowly spread her wings to the fullest extent. Truly, they had made an equivalent exchange. Applejack carefully drew closer to the wings, grinning to herself as her mind wandered. Right then, she felt like a famous musician, ready to wow the crowd. For she was the grand master, the virtuoso of her time. She could make her instrument sing, and cry out her name for encores even when it neared exhaustion. And as her lips touched the first feather, Dash truly sang.
