Tyler was just your average slightly athletic human in a world shared between anthropomorphic ponies, dragons, kirin, gryphons, hippogriffs, changelings, ect and humans. After a war that seemed to last forever was finally resolved in a treaty, soon humans and the races of Equestria formed an alliance. As part of the alliance agreement a high school was built to teach those who are called Elemancers, creatures and humans that can control one or more elements like fire, water, earth, air, ect. However Tyler wanted to be an Elemancer but through several trials, often which ended up in him going to the ER he gave up but years later he received a letter from the council that oversees the relations between humans and Races of Equestria requesting him to join Elemancer high, while reluntuc at first he decided to attend even though he felt like he didn't belong...that was until the Elemancer Tournament in which students are randomly selected to duel against each other as a way to see how far you've gone in your abilities.
