Chapters Starlight And The Lone Crafter
Somewhere along a mountain pass a lone unicorn mare sat at the side of the pass glaring down the mountainside as she replayed the events that had occurred during the last few hours. She had been running a happy little village that she had felt was perfect and then a certain Alicorn and her meddling friends came and ruined everything, resulting in her having to run away after watching everything she worked hard for be destroyed. As she continued with her brooding she didn't notice a stallion walking up to her and didn't pay him any mind as he got close. It was only when he spoke when she finally turn to acknowledge his existence.
"Beautiful view isn't it?" the stallion said.
The mare didn't answer, instead keeping her focus on the stranger's attire. As she looked him up and down she could see that he was wearing a strange outfit that would've made him look like the Mysterious Mare Do Well, except it was teal in color with lime-green trim and he didn't have a mask to cover his head showing his light brown fur and short darker brown mane. His hat, however, was slightly longer and positioned in such a way that the mare could not see his eyes, leaving her with no idea what kind of expression he was making aside from what she could see with his mouth, which appeared to be set in a seemingly disarming smile.
Unable to read the stranger's thoughts the mare returned to glaring down the mountainside as she spoke, "Go away."
"I take it you're upset about something," the stallion said as he took a few steps forward before adding, "Starlight Glimmer."
After hearing her name from someone she clearly didn't know she narrowed her eyes as she turned her attention back to the stallion. "How do you know my name?" she demand.
The stallion merely chuckled as he gave his response, "well it seems that has gotten your attention, and I'm afraid I cannot tell you that." He held up his hoof before Starlight could say anything else, "but the real question should be 'what do want with me?'"
Starlight got up and entered a defensive stance as she glared at the offending stallion who thought he could fight her. Given her magical prowess and the fact that the stallion did not appear to be a unicorn and only had what looked like a long wooden staff for a weapon she felt that she had the upper hoof. She smirked at the stallion as she started to gather magic for a spell, "I don't know who you are or what you think you can do to me when I have..." Starlight stopped in mid sentence as she quickly realized that she was not able to use her magic.
Eyes wide with shock she then looked to her horn and then back at the the stallion with new found fear as she asked, "h-how are you stopping my magic? Y-your not even a unicorn."
Her fear only grew as the stallion's smile grew when he spoke, "Oh, did I happen to scare the almighty Starlight Glimmer who had managed to not only managed to make a staff capable of removing cutie marks from other ponies, including the cutie mark from a certain Alicorn Princess." His smile grew even more as Starlight's eye's widened even further.
"H-how do you even know about that?" Starlight asked, complete fear evident on her face.
The stallion chuckled once more as he gave his response, "I know a great deal about you. In fact, I know a great deal about everything there is to know in this world. But as far as how I know all this," He smiled even more as he leaned in, "I'm not going to tell you."
After hearing this Starlight went back to glaring at the stallion while trying to figure out what his motives were and trying to find a way to get away. She slowly started to shift to the right when she felt her hoof hit what seemed to be a wall. She looked to her right as she raised her right forehoof to see what is there and felt a smooth wall that she couldn't see to her right. She then set her hoof down and raised her left one and had the same result when she felt what was to her left. Her fear rising even further she turned back to the stallion who was now hold a glowing blue sphere in his right hoof, his smile even more prominent.
"You might want to look behind you," was all he said as he continued to smile.
Starlight slowly turned her head and saw a rectangular black plane floating vertically about a few feet away from her. She then looked back at the stallion as she asked, "Wh-what is that thing?"
The stallion continued to smile as he answered, "Since you asked that is a portal that leads to another world that is quite unlike this one. Not only that, but it is also one where survival is a must and the only way to survive is to either kill or be kill and the only way to get friends is to earn their respect." Starlight's eyes shot up as her fear intensified as he continued. "Now don't worry, I do plan on sending you back to your world eventually. I'll just leave you there long enough to where you will truly understand the importance of friendship. Lord Eternis might not like me doing this, but I'm pretty sure he'll let me off the hook given what you'll eventually do."
Starlight immediately shifted from fear to rage as she growled at the stallion, "I don't care who you are, but you are not going to get away with keeping me from taking my revenge." With that she charged at the stallion with the intent of tackling him and stopping whatever he's doing to keep her from using her magic. As she got closer to him she watched him raise his head allowing her to see his glowing greenish-blue eyes.
Her own eyes went wide as she saw a look of absolute confidence, and a hint of sadness, in those eyes as he spoke, "I'm afraid that I've already succeeded," with that he hurled the blue sphere at Starlight just as she was a few meters away and she hardly had any time to dodge as the sphere hit her, knocking the wind out of her and sending her flying straight towards the black portal. She never got a chance to scream as everything immediately went black.
The stallion watched as the portal he created vanished along with the mare and turned his head to looking out at the horizon. He stayed like this until he heard the faint buzzing of wings and turned his attention to a changeling with amethyst colored eyes and carapace. "Ah, I see that Aria had sent you?" the stallion asked as he turned to give the changeling his full attention.
The changeling nodded as she landed, "Yes, Queen Aria had requested me to go and complete the favor you asked of her after you helped save her hive from Queen Chrysalis," her eyes narrowed in anger as she said that name, but then shifted to concern when she added, "But is this really necessary? I know that that mare had done some terrible things to those ponies, but don't you think it's a bit harsh in banishing her to a world that is likely going to get her killed?"
The stallion kept his smile as he shook his head, "I'm afraid what she would do in the future would actually be far worse than what I have done to her."
The changeling looked down with worry still etched on her face, "But still, wouldn't there've been another way than to simply send her somewhere else where no one can find her?"
The stallion widened his smile as he walked up to the changeling. "Cryst, I'm afraid what I've done is for the best. Not sure if you heard, but I was not lying about Eternis understanding what I'm doing given the trouble that Starlight would inadvertently give him should I allow her to go about with her revenge."
Cryst sighed as she felt that he was telling the truth, "Alright I get it, what Starlight Glimmer did was bad and what she was going to do would be even worse," She looked up at the stallion with a different question in mind, "Mister Auramancer, aren't you going to at least tell me why you're smiling when you are clearly hurting inside."
The Auramancer kept his smile, but the changeling could still feel the growing sadness as he answered, "You know that I can't answer that. The sadness from the memories that I had will no doubt kill you in an instant as I know that your kind can only survive on feeding of of love and that any negative emotions will have a debilitating effect on your health. So it's best that you don't ask."
Cryst once again sighed in defeat knowing that he was right. Shifting to a more serious attitude the changeling was engulfed in green flames. Once the flames died out she had transformed into a perfect copy of Starlight Glimmer with a smug grin on her face. "Well, I guess I better be off then."
The Auramancer nodded as he turned back to the horizon with the sun starting to set. "You do know what you need to do right?" He asked.
'Starlight Glimmer' nodded, "yep. I'm pretty much the only changeling in my hive aside from the queen who can match her magic in strength. It is going to be a little tough getting her attitude right, but I think I'll manage."
He nodded once more as he spoke, "very good. I'll inform you if anything unfortunate happens to Starlight, though I'm doubtful that it'll come to that. I made certain that she'll be in good hooves, it all depends on her actions."
'Starlight Glimmer' frowned slightly, but nodded once more, "alright. I'll take your word for it given what you're capable of, but please promise me that she'll at least be okay."
"You have my word," was all he said. And so the disguised changeling trotted of to parts unknown to do what the original Starlight Glimmer would've likely done had she not been sent through the portal.
The Auramancer looked up at the stars as day gave way to night as he pondered out load, "now the only question is, will she accept the help she's given or will she fall victim to her own hubris.
In another world where everything is made of blocks a lone crafter is walking to his home though a forest full of oak and birch trees when he notices a girl lying on the ground unconscious in the middle of a small clearing. The crafter looked around as he pulled out a bow and arrow as he slowly made his way to the unconscious girl, making sure that it wasn't some sort of trap. Once he got close enough to touch the girl and didn't see any evidence of there being an ambush he put his weapon weapon away and kneeled down to gently shake the girl to see if he could wake her, assuming that she was still alive.
"Hey, you okay there?" he said. When the only response he got was some slight mumbling he got up and looked at the sky. Seeing that the sun was beginning to set the crafter decided to take the girl with him as he crouched down to pick her up and have her draped on his back as he made the slow trek to his house.
"I hope you don't mind me taking you to my place. It'll be too dangerous for you to be out here on your own without any protection."
Author's Note
I've decided to start up on this story after getting inspired by watching a few videos from a youtuber by the name of Rainimator. For quite a while up till now I had little motivation to write my other pics, but after watching Rainimator's videos I suddenly came up with a story where Starlight gets sent to the world of Minecraft and encounters my Minecraft character along the way. I've only came up with this story a few days ago, but didn't put into writing until I could figure out a good way to start it off. So far I think that I've gotten a good start with the story, though I would like to see what your opinions are about it overall.
For those wondering what my Minecraft skin looks like, I'm not entirely sure how I should go about uploading it without someone potentially stealing it so I may need some assistance on that front. Anyway, I hope you guys enjoyed my first attempt with a Minecraft Crossover.
On a side note: if it hasn't already been made obvious with the tags, I get a little bit evil with certain chapters as the story progresses, as I plan on having certain parts where the characters will face tremendous hardships that'll really put their relationship to the test, especially given that there'll be a bit of romance along the way.
Starlight And The Lone Crafter
It became night the moment the crafter had arrived at his home with his passenger still passed out on his back. The house itself was built as a simple oak cabin with the walls of the cabin made of oak wood planks, the outer corners being oak logs, and dark oak stairs making up the roof. The crafter walked up to the entrance to his cabin and carefully opened the double dark oak doors, thankful that he had built the entrance the way it was allowing him to bring in his passenger without much trouble. Once he stepped inside his humble abode he walked over to the back left corner of his cabin where his bed sat and gently set the girl onto it.
Once he was finally freed of his burden he took a better look at the girl he found prior to coming to his home. The first thing he noticed were the purple horse like ears sticking out from atop the girl's head, though they seemed to be slightly shorter than the horses that he had seen during his travels. The girl's hair was also purple, but a with two different shades, and had light blue streaks along the bangs of her hair and possibly along the back as well. He then looked at the girl's attire and took note of the shirt that was similar in color to the streaks in her hair and dark purple pants that went just below the knee. Deciding that he had seen enough the crafter turned away and proceeded to head for one of the chests in his home to set about to preparing a meal for his guest.
It was at this moment when Starlight started to wake up. Groaning she slowly opened her eyes as she tried her best to get up, sensing that something was not right about her body. Once her vision cleared her eyes went wide as she took in her surroundings. Everything that she saw looked like they were made of what looked to be blocks, with each block having what looked like square patterns to resemble textures. She shot up and began to panic as she tried to figure out what was going on when she heard a male voice speak out.
"Oh hey, you're awake."
Starlight slowly looked off to her left and saw a strange blocky figure kneeling by what she assumed was some sort of chest, looking as though he was about to pull something out. Overcome with fear at the unfamiliar environment that she has found herself in she immediately looked around for an exit. She didn't listen to the stranger as he tried to calm her down as she set eyes on the still open doorway leading outside of the strange building she found herself it. Without really thinking about it she jumped out of the bed on her two legs and made a mad dash for the exit and sprinted out into the nearby forest with the night sky overhead.
"Hey wait!" The crafter yelled as he tried to stop her but watched as she raced off into the forest, "oh Notch damn it." Groaning, the crafter took out his iron sword and shield and ran out in pursuit of the girl.
As she got deeper into the forest Starlight Glimmer tripped and fell face first onto the ground. Groaning she lifted her hoof to rub her aching head and froze when she noticed something was off. She looked at what was once a hoof and was now some sort of thick blocky arm somewhat similar to the figure she saw when she woke up. She looked at her other arm and saw that it too was the same way as the other. She also took note of what looked like appendages that were at the end of both of her arms forming what she assumed were hands. Before she could get a better look at the apparent changes to her appearance she heard what sounded like groaning to her right.
When she looked in the direction of the noise she saw what appeared to be a group of six figures similar in shape to the one that she had met, except their skin was sickly green in color and they all seem to be wearing the same type of clothing. She watched as they proceeded to slowly shamble their way towards her, with their red eyes glaring directly at her. Smirking Starlight then proceeded to channel her magic to deal with what were clearly monsters. When she noticed that nothing was happening she brought an arm up to where her horn should be and quickly realized that she didn't have her horn.
Now realizing that she had no effective way to protect herself she then began to back away from the small oncoming horde. "S-stay away," she said as the horde continued to make their way towards her. She continued to back away until she bumped into something behind her. Taking a quick look she noticed that she had backed into what looked like a tree. Turning back to the horde she covered her head with her arms in an attempt to protect herself when she heard a familiar male voice call out.
"Hey!"
Looking up she looked over to where the voice came from she saw the same individual she had initially ran away from and notice what appeared to be a sword and shield in his hands. The horde of creatures turned their attention to the newcomer and began to shamble their way towards him. She watched as the stranger charged at the horde with his shield raised in front of him and proceeded to attack the horde.
Once he reached the first of the creatures he slammed his shield against it and as it staggered followed it up with a thrust of his sword. Once the monstered dropped dead he spun around and backhanded another one with his shield while cutting down two more with his sword. With three now remaining the crafter quickly moved between Starlight and the remaining creatures as he readied himself for another attack. As the one that he knocked out slowly got up the other two creatures quickened their pace as they were spurred with anger. Seeing an opportunity the crafter put away his shield as he lowered himself to prepare for a strong slash. Once the two enemies came into striking distance he sprang forward and slash horizontally, quickly cutting down them down with one strike. With only one enemy left the crafter walked over to the last one as it struggled to get back up.
Starlight watched with wide eyes as the stranger kicked the creature onto its back before raising his sword over his head. She winced slightly as he swiftly brought the sword down onto the creature head, killing it instantly. He then pulled his sword out of the corpse's head and turned towards Starlight. She tensed up as he approached her only to relax slightly as he knelt down in front of her and held out a hand.
"You alright?" he asked.
Unsure of whether she should trust this stranger she gave a slight nod as she accepted his hand. The crafter helped her to her feet and she wobbled a bit as she did her best to get accustomed to her new body. Once she was confident that she wasn't going to topple over she looked up to see that the stranger was now glaring at her.
"What in Notch's name were you thinking." He demanded, catching the former unicorn in surprise. Starlight quickly shifted to a glare of her own as she put her hands to her hips.
"What was I thinking? I woke up to an unfamiliar place and you expect me to not freak out," she demanded keeping her glare while she worked on looking for a way to get away. Now that she was looking at the stranger she saw that he had short silvery hair and light blue eyes. Looking down she took note of what appeared to be a white cloak with a long, grey silk cloth draped over his shoulders.
The crafter rolled his eyes, "Given that you were almost killed by a group of zombies you should at least be thankful that I came in time to save your sorry butt." She winced at those once as he continued. "Just so you know, it's dark out. That means that mobs will be out and about and given that you don't seem to have any weapons on you it would be a very bad idea to be alone out here."
Starlight lowered her gaze as she realized that he was right. The crafter's face softened as he spoke, "Look, I don't blame you from running away like that so why don't we head back over to my place before more mobs show up."
With no other choice she reluctantly nodded accepting his offer. He nodded back and turned in the direction of where she assumed his house would be.
As they were walking the crafter turned his head behind him, "by the way, mind giving me your name. My name's Silver Scorpion."
Raising and eyebrow she answered, "Starlight. Starlight Glimmer."
"Hmm. That's a pretty nice name," Silver replied as he turned his attention back to the direction he's heading, "Well, let's wait on asking questions once we get back to my place."
Nodding Starlight quickened her pace so she could catch up to him as they made their way back to Silver's cabin.
Author's Note
And there we go, another chapter done after seeing that the story got approved. I could've just had the story be auto approved, but I wanted be on the safe side since it's been a while since I've actually written anything on this site. And so we have an introduction to my Minecraft account as well as a look at what my version of Starlight Glimmer might look like. Also, not sure if I got Starlight's current personality correct so let me know if I need to make any changes. Anyway, I hope you guys enjoy this chapter as I get back around to writing again.
On a side note if when I happen to feel motivated enough I'll get back to writing my Halo fic which seems to be doing fairly well. And for those of you who're worried that I had abandoned it, I apologize. Life has been pretty difficult over the past few years and only recently have I gotten the motivation I need to get back into writing. Hopefully you guys can understand the situation that I was in a look forward to when I write my next chapter.
Starlight And The Lone Crafter
Less than half an hour of walking, and then running, had passed when Starlight Glimmer and Silver Scorpion finally left the confines of the forest and onto the hilly grasslands where the crafter's house resided. Starlight winced as she kept her hand over her right shoulder where there were three arrows sticking in it. Looking back she saw that Silver had stopped moving and was now facing in the direction of the forest with his shield raised and sword at the ready.
"Go, get inside!" he yelled, "I'll deal with the mobs."
Deciding that that was the best course of action she made a mad dash towards the cabin. The moment she made it to the cabin she burst through the doors and immediately slammed them shut before collapsing onto what looked like a chair. Now that she was in the relative safety of the cabin she took another look at her shoulder and winced when she poked at one of the arrows. Steeling herself she grasped at one of the arrows and yanked it out. She gave out a soft cry in pain the moment the arrow was removed, but she held off making any other protests as she set about removing the other arrows.
By the time she removed the third arrow was when the doors of the cabin opened revealing an exhausted crafter as he made his way to another chair and plopped down. Starlight noticed that there were numerous arrows sticking in the shield he was holding and that he had also taken a few as well, with two sticking in his left arm and one sticking in both his right arm and his left foot.
"What were those things?" Starlight asked as she watched him pull out the arrows sticking in his body. She raised an eyebrow when she noticed that the arrows he pulled out appeared to have silver arrow heads, but otherwise didn't say anything else.
After pulling out the last arrow he answered, "They're called mobs. The green ones with the tattered shirt and blue pants are called zombies while the skinny looking ones with the bow and arrow are called skeletons." He then tilted his head back as he continued, "they're among the hostile mobs that you can find out here in the wilderness."
Not entirely understanding what he said, Starlight simply sighed as she leaned back on her chair.
"Is it always this dangerous when it becomes night?" She finally asked.
"Not always," Silver replied, chuckling, "I usually return to my home before it starts to get dark, unless of course I end up spending too much time in the caves looking for ores and other resources like diamonds."
Once again Starlight found herself raising an eyebrow as she turned her head towards the crafter.
"What are you anyway?" She asked, eliciting another chuckle from the man.
"Well, I'm just a crafter, though to be specific I'm a human," he said, though for some reason Starlight felt like that last bit was a lie given the evidence she saw with the arrows. He then turned to her with a serious look on his face as he gave a question of his own, "by the way, any reason why you were just lying out there in the middle of the forest with nothing to protect you?"
Starlight pursed her lips as she looked at the ground. Eventually she decided to shake her head as she replied, "I don't know. Last thing I remember was sitting along the road at the edge of a mountain pass and then I found myself here."
Silver hummed in response as he brought a hand to his chin in deep thought. "Do you remember anything before that?" he asked, "Like where you live or where you were going."
"No, I'm afraid I don't remember anything else before that." she lied. Since she didn't know much about her savior or the world she has now found herself in she decided to act like she doesn't remember anything from her past, which would likely be pretty easy given the circumstances. And since her new companion was keeping secrets of his own, it was only fair that she kept a few details to herself.
"Well that's a shame," he said as he brought his hand back down and then got up, "would you like something to eat. I'm pretty sure all of that running had to have worked up quite an apatite."
Starlight nodded when she felt her stomach growl at the prospect of food causing her to blush slightly in embarrassment.
Once he saw her confirmation he walked over to one of the chests and began rummaging through it until he found what he was looking for. Starlight watched as he pulled out two bowls filled with what looked like soup. He then walked over to where she was sitting and handing her one of the bowls before returning to his chair and plopping down. She brought her bowl to her lips and gave an experimental sip while he proceeded to down his. After feeling confident that it was safe she proceeded to down hers as well.
"That was actually pretty good," she said once she had finished her soup, "what is it?"
Silver smiled as got up and took her now empty bowl and took it over to the chest and put it in along with his. "It's called mushroom soup and it's a very filling meal. All it takes is one red mushroom and one brown one, mix them into a bowl and there you go."
It was then that there was some banging on the door. Silver Scorpion immediately got up as did Starlight and they both looked out the windows and saw a small horde of twelve zombies and five skeletons waiting outside.
"No rest for the wicked," Silver sighed as he picked up his sword and shield, only to put them away in another chest and trading them for two stone swords. He then proceeded to head for the door. Before he opened it he turned to Starlight, "Stay here."
Starlight wanted to object, but the serious look on his face made her stay silent and she watch as he held off on opening to door for a few moments and then abruptly opening them up and immediately stabbed the zombie that was attempting to break in. She watched with held breath as he went out and proceeded to slash at the two zombies just outside the door before closing the doors behind him.
Moving over to the window to get a better look she watched as he attacked the oncoming horde. The first thing she saw him do was charge straight towards the nearest skeleton while taking out zombies that got close and dodging arrows that flew by him. By the time he reached the skeletal archer he had already taken down four zombies and before it could get a chance to fire another arrow he held his arms crossed and then slashed upwards, decapitating the skeleton in the process. He turned just in time to see two arrows flying towards him and he immediately rolled to the side to avoid getting hit.
Starlight debated on seeing if she could somehow help when she noticed his body started glowing silver. Her eyes went wide when he suddenly surged forward and took out seven of the remaining zombies as well as three skeletons that were all in path of his attack. She blinked in surprise as the glow quickly faded and both of his swords immediately crumbled to dust. She suddenly found herself worried that he was now unarmed until she noticed a shimmering glow starting to form in his left hand and watched as it coalesced into a sword. He then turned to the remaining undead and braced himself, only to watch as the survivors suddenly turned tail and ran back into the forest. Seeing this the glowing sword disappeared as he walked around the battlefield picking up any loot that he could find.
Starlight moved back to the chair she was sitting with wide eye's as she thought to herself. What the hay was that. Was that magic that he was using? I need to ask him once he gets back.
She waited with her arms crossed for about a few minutes when the worn out crafter opened the doors and walked in.
"What did you just do?" She demanded as she got up and glared at the exhausted crafter.
Silver gave a sheepish smile as he rubbed the back of his head, "just some combat magic." He said while keeping from not making eye contact. "I don't usually use my magic unless I absolutely have to as it tends to degrade my weapons pretty rapidly."
Starlight avoided showing her surprise by simply folding her arms and raising an eyebrow. "Wait, so you can use magic? How?"
"I guess you wouldn't know since you don't remember anything," Silver replied, "but yeah, I'm able to use magic. There actually some magic casters out there that can do some pretty amazing things, as well as some very terrible ones as well." Silver's eyes narrowed at the last part before looking up at Starlight with an inquisitive look. "I'm actually surprised that you already know about magic."
Suddenly realizing her mistake she began to frantically find an excuse when she watched him shake his head.
"Well, that probably doesn't matter right now," he said, causing Starlight to internally sigh with relief, "I can tell that you've got more questions for me so let's hold off on it till tomorrow. Why don't I go and craft a bed for you so we can both get some shut eye."
Starlight nodded as the thought of sleep was strangely appealing even though she had already been asleep, though perhaps all that running did wear her out as well as make her hungry. She was also curious as to how the crafter had built all of the furnishing that were in his house. She watched as he dumped some items she initially didn't see him carrying before taking out six blocks, three of which were white while the other three looked like they might be planks of wood made in a cube shape. She then observed him move over to another block that looked like it had some tools on the side and place the blocks in two rows on what appeared to be a three by three grid that was on top of the block. Her eyes went wide as the small blocks swirled together before transforming into what looked like a miniature bed.
"So where do you want your bed?" Silver asked as he turned towards Starlight, causing her to jerk up as she did her best to hide her surprise.
"Umm well, how about the other corner opposite from where you have yours." she replied.
The crafter nodded before turning towards the corner in question and placed the bed down, causing Starlight to blink in surprise again as she watched the tiny bed suddenly turned into a full size object.
"There, that should do it," he said as he proceeded to stretch his arms before turning towards his own bed, "Let's pick up where we left off in the morning."
Nodding Starlight walked over to her bed, but before she laid down onto it she turned to the crafter with a question on her mind. "Do you have any idea as to why those undead suddenly turned around and ran?"
Silver simply shrugged as he sat on his bed. "No clue. I'm assuming that they were under the command of a necromancer, which might explain how those skeletons got the drop on us. Normally the mobs will wander around aimlessly unless someone was controlling them. I guess when the necromance saw what I was capable he decided that it wasn't worth wasting the rest of his remaining forces to get at two people."
Starlight turned her head towards her bed to avoid showing her look of disgust upon hearing that. She then set about laying down onto her bed and started to quickly fall asleep.
Upon seeing this the lone crafter turned his attention towards the window facing the forest when he noticed a pair of glowing white eyes staring back at him in the darkness of the forest. Was he the one who sent the undead after us. Silver thought to himself before laying down and letting sleep finally take hold.
Just within the edge of the forest a lone figure stood, his glowing white eyes staring at the cabin that housed the two individuals, one of which has piqued his interest for some time now and after seeing the silver haired boy use some unusual combat magic he was convinced that there was something interesting about him. The girl on the other hand was something else entirely. The figure could feel that she had quite a pool of magic, of which he could immediately see her being able to turn the tide of battle for whoever held control over her.
Apparently he wasn't the only one as he sensed someone walking up to him. He turned to see that it was one of his generals who had come to take a look at the cabin as well.
"Lord Herobrine, why do you insist on letting those two be?" The general demanded, "I can see that the boy has some potential and the girl posses a great deal of magical power. If you send me out there now I would have no trouble in taking them both down and bringing them in as part of our forces."
"Are you questioning my decisions general?" Herobrine asked while glaring at the general.
"N-no my lord," The general immediately backpedaled as he quickly realized his mistake, "I was merely stating that it would be foolish to let them roam free as there's no telling when they might join one of the human races and become a burden to us."
Herobrine nodded in understanding. "I understand that those two could become perfect assets to us, but I feel that there is still more to the boy that I do not understand."
"Would it be because of that shadow entity that you faced when you found that village?" The general asked.
Herobrine nodded, "yes. Whoever these shadow entities are, the fact that they've been chasing him leads me to believe that there is something far greater happening. Therefore, I will not permit my forces to go out and capture him. And since he insists on protecting the girl, I'll let her go free as well. Unless she decides to leave him I do not want anyone to try and capture her. Instead we'll leave someone to watch the pair for when that time comes."
The general bowed upon hearing the orders. "Then I will have one of our best spies to go and observe them as they go on their journey." With that the general turned and walked deeper into the Forest.
Herobrine let his gaze linger on the cabin before tuning around and walking deeper into the forest himself.
"Well child of Scorpio. Let us see what you really are."

And another chapter is done with one heck of a dozy to boot. I'm pretty sure you guys will have a lot of questions regarding to my character and his backstory and his apparent connections with Herobrine. I'll have those questions answered as I progress further into the story. I do hope that this doesn't end up leaving you guys confused as to what the heck is going on, but I also hope you've enjoyed it nonetheless. The next chapter that I'll write will be about Starlight learning a bit more of the world she's in as well as how to survive in said world. I'm certainly looking forward to writing it once I get the chance.
Starlight And The Lone Crafter
Starlight groaned in protest as she woke up from the light of the morning sun which started to seep in through the windows of the cabin. Rubbing her sleep filled eyes, Starlight forced herself to get up and moved to a siting position on the oddly comfortable bed. Looking up she saw that Silver was already up and rummaging through on of the chests as though he was looking for something.
"What are you looking for?" She asked as she stood up.
"Found it," Silver said. Pulling out what looked like a book and turned to her. "This book is a guide for new adventurers who want to go out and explore. The information that it provides should give you a basic understanding of the world and how to survive in it."
Silver walked over to Starlight and handed her the book. "Go ahead and read it. I'll go outside and get some things set up." He turned and walked over to the door. Before opening one of the doors he turned to Starlight. "When you're done reading come outside and we'll put what you've learned to the test."
With that the crafter left the Cabin and closed the door. Starlight looked at the book and read the title, 'Beginner's Guide to the Worlds of Minecraft.' Raising an eyebrow she shrugged and sat down on a nearby chair and started reading.
Two Hours Later
After having finished reading the guide book Starlight opened the doors of the cabin and walked out. Looking around she saw that there were two piles of blocks set up a ways from the front of the cabin. Looking at the piles she saw that one of the piles consisted of oak wood logs while the other pile was cobblestone. She didn't see Silver anywhere and was thinking of looking for him when he suddenly appeared from around the corner of the cabin at the left side.
"I take it you finished the book?" He asked as he walked up to Starlight.
She nodded and the pair walked over to where the two piles were set up. Once they got up to the piles Silver turned to Starlight.
"Alright, now that you have an understanding of how things work why don't we start with the first steps in surviving out in the wilderness." He pointed over to the log pile. "Your first task is to gather some wood and use it to make a crafting table and later some tools." He then pointed towards the pile of cobblestone. "Once you've done that go and harvest some cobblestone and make some stone tools."
He then moved his hands behind his back, "So, do you have any questions?"
Starlight looked between the two piles before looking at the crafter with a raised eyebrow, "Wouldn't I need an ax to begin with?"
Silver chuckled as he shook his head. "Sorry, but I'm not going to be helping you with that. I find that personal experience can be the best teacher when it comes to crafting and gathering resources. I'm sure you'll be able to figure it out." He then turned and walked away. "I'll come back later and check on your progress. Once you've figured out how to craft we'll move on to building."
With that he waved his hand as he walked around to the back of his cabin and disappeared, leaving a very annoyed Starlight standing between the two piles of blocks. She then turned and glared at the log pile.
"Great, so he's expecting me to be able to break these blocks with my bare hands." She closed her eyes in defeat as she sighed. "Well, I guess I'll have to follow his advise and figure out how to do this."
She walked over to the log pile and grabbed at one of the blocks to try and pick it up. She quickly found that it wouldn't budge after making at least three attempts to move it to no effect. She then punched the block out of sheer frustration when she noticed something interesting happened. She knelt down to the block and proceeded to knock on it a few times and watched as what looked like cracks forming on the block and when she stopped the cracks disappeared.
Upon seeing this Starlight proceeded to repeatedly knock on the block until the cracks reached the point to where the block finally broke and a smaller version popped up in its place. Picking up the block she started to go over what she had read and successfully made a crafting table. She then harvested two more oak blocks and proceeded to craft some planks and turn some of them into sticks. Once that was done she went ahead and crafted herself a wood ax and proceeded to chop the rest of the wood, all the while finding the process to be slightly faster than when she did it by hand. After having collected all of the wood blocks and tuning them into planks and sticks she turned to the pile of cobblestone.
Okay, if I remember correctly I need a pickax if I'm going to mine this cobblestone.
Turning back to the crafting table Starlight proceeded to make herself a wooden pickax. Upon completion she walked over to the cobblestone pile and mined three blocks before turning back to the crafting table and crafting a stone pickax. As she figured, the stone pickax proved to be even more effective than the wooden one and soon she had finished mining what was left of the pile.
By the time she was done Silver came back from whatever tasks he was doing back behind his home. He saw that Starlight had completed her task and proceeded to walk up to her.
"Looks like you've figured out what to do," he said with a grin, "nice job."
Starlight smirked at the praise. "So what's next."
"The next thing that you need to do once you've got your basic resources is to build a shelter." Silver replied. He then pointed to two chests that were in front of his cabin. "Feel free to look in the chests over there and pick up any blocks that you want to use. Once you've taken what you feel you need go ahead and build yourself a house. I'll be going around back to take care of a few more things. I'll come by later to check on your progress."
With that he once again made his way to the back of the cabin and disappeared. Shrugging Starlight did as he said and walked over to the chests and found them filled with both planks and cobblestone. Figuring that these would be the only blocks that she would be able to use she set out to build her own house.
By the time Silver came back around he saw that Starlight had built a simple oak wood shack with some openings with fence posts being used as windows. He smiled once more as he made his way to the shack. Opening the door he saw that the floor was made of cobblestone and as he looked around he caught sight of Starlight in the process of placing done her crafting table as well as some chests and a furnace.
"Nice shack you built." he commented, causing Starlight to jump. She then turned and glared an the now chuckling crafter. "Don't surprise me like that."
"Sorry about that," Silver apologized while still chuckling, "Anyway, it looks like you've gotten all of the basics of survival taken care of." He then looked outside and noticed that the sun was beginning to set. "Looks like it's about to get dark. How about we call it a day and get something to eat. Would you like to move your bed into your new home or do you want to stay in my cabin?"
Starlight thought for a moment as she looked around her small shack. "I think I'd prefer your cabin," she replied, "I think I'll just use this for storage and crafting rather than living in it. Also after what happened yesterday I think it'll be safer in case mobs decide to come over again."
Silver nodded in understanding. "I see, well then let's head on inside. I do believe that I have a few books that have tips on how to build some unique homes. I think tomorrow we'll get started on farming followed by some combat training if we have time."
With that the two left the small shack and walked back to the cabin to get something to eat and prepare for the next day.
At the edge of the nearby forest a lone figure watched from behind a tree as the pair reentered the cabin. He had watched everything that the girl had done and was somewhat disappointed that nothing particularly interesting had happened while she went about learning the basics of survival. He was about to consider that this was a waste of time when he heard the boy mention combat training. Deciding that this would be something that his master would be interested in the spy sat down next to the tree while keeping himself from being seen from the pair inside of the cabin and proceeded to take a nap.
Author's Note
Took me a while to figure out how I wanted this chapter to go and now here we are. Not much to say about this chapter, but I think I've done a decent job on it. And now it seems that our main character's now have someone spying on them. The next chapter will be a bit more interesting as there will be some sword fighting involved, though it will start with a short bit of farming. Let me know what you guys think about this chapter, and possibly the story overall. It may be a while until I get the next chapter in so be patient as I get it done. Anyway I hope you've enjoyed the story thus far and look forward to the next chapter.
