Chapters Sleep Over at Pinkie's House
The final school bell rang and everyone especially Rainbow, couldn't wait to get the hell on out of there. god, this is probably the worst torture I have to sit through! She went to her locker which also happens to be where her friends were at. All six of them. Sunset was the first one to speak.
"What's up, Rainbow?" The athlete groaned. "Nothing much, I just got out of class. I had to sit through Cranky Doodle tortuous lectures on subjects that I'm probably not ever going to do." She sighed. "How about you guys?"
AppleJack chuckled. "hehe well I was thinking maybe we could all hang out." Rarity was the first to respond. "Like we can all go to the mall?"
"We already did that last week!" Pinkie laughed. "How about a slumber party at my place?"
"You know, we haven't had a slumber party at Pinkie's in awhile." Sunset pointed out. "What do you guys say?" The Rainbooms agreed. So after school, they went to Pinkie's house. As soon as they got there, they went straight to Pinkie's room. AJ and Rainbow were going to compete in a video game. They turned on the TV but instead of the video game loading screen, it was a girl. She had long blonde hair and wore a labcoat. She looked like she was in a crowd.
"Wait who's that?" Rainbow questioned.
"I actually don't know..." Pinkie said just as confused. "But she sure looks like a genius!" On screen, the girl explained what she was doing.
"Look closely at my hand." She told the crowd. Rainbow tried to see but had a bit of trouble. Then the girls noticed something really amazing. A small flame ignited from the scientist's hand. A collection of fascinated gasps filled the air.
"This is what you people might call magic!" She smiled. "It's a wonder in this world."
"She seems really nice," Fluttershy commented.
"Yeah," Pinkie agreed. "Though, I wonder why I never seen her around before?"
"She probably just moved here," Fluttershy suggested. They decided to continue watching. Each thing the scientist did amazed the crowd. It was like she was putting on a magic show.
"hey, I bet Trixie would be jealous because she can't pull it off," Rainbow snickered. Everyone laughed at her comment. "Oh man, that's a good one!" AJ laughed. Before they knew it, it was 1 am in the morning.
"Wow! Time went by so fast!" Pinkie said shocked.
"Well I don't know about you girls, but I'm pretty tired," Sunset yawned. The rest of the girls agreed that it was time to turn in for the night. They all laid thier sleeping bags. Before Pinkie turned off the lights, she told them.
"If you hear any noises, then that's just my sister taking her rock out for a walk."
"At 1 in the morning?" Rarity asked.
"I know, and even I find that weird." Pinkie admitted. "Anyway goodnight everybody!"
"goodnight!" the Rainbooms replied.
At about 2 in the morning, Rainbow woke up to the sound of rustling and footsteps coming from downstairs. Curious, she slowly crept out of the room and quietly closed the bedroom door behind her. She slowly walked downstairs. Wanting to see what was happening. Perhaps it was Maud Pie? That's what she thought, until she saw a small figure in a mask looking through the draws and cabinets.
"Hey!" Rainbow shouted. The figure jumped in surprise and made a dash for the door, But Rainbow used her speed powers to tackle the intruder on the ground. The figure groaned. Rainbow pulled off the mask, revealing a boy who looked no older than 7. He had on a blue long sleeved shirt, jeans, and had brown hair. He also wore a pair of tennis shoes. "Who do you think you are thinking you can rob us?!" Rainbow seethed.
"Wait!" The boy pleaded. Rainbow attempted to grab the boy and the latter responded by raising his hands. Rainbow then suddenly found herself being flung across the room. She hit the wall and fell on the floor. She groaned in pain as she tried to get up.
"What's going on?" Twilight yawned. She was suddenly downstairs. She then noticed the boy, who was frozen not knowing what to do.
"Wait who are you?" she asked him.
"Please, you don't understand," The boy spoke.
"Why should we believe someone like you?" Rainbow growled. "And how did you push me without even touching me?
"Rainbow, I know what he did was wrong, but he's still just a kid." AJ told her. Rainbow sighed. "I guess, but who are you?"
The boy figured he might as well introduce himself. "I uh...my name is Berry." he said nervously.
"Wait, Rainbow, did you just say he pushed you and he didn't even touch you?" Sunset asked.
"Yeah! I tried to grab him and the next thing I knew, I went flying across the room!" the athlete said. Sunset's eyes widened in shock. Perhaps he has powers?
"You have to believe me!" Berry began to speak again. That's when he noticed a car pull up in the drive way. "Oh no, please don't say im here!" He ran behind the corner, hoping the girls won't rat him out. A knock was heard on the door and Sunset opened it. Revealing a much older boy. He had on a black dior jacket, white t shirt, jeans and had black hair. He looked like he was about 18 or 19 years old. It did not escape Sunset's notice that in his right pocket, seemed to be the handle of a switchblade. She eyed him cautiously.
"Hi there," His voice was soft spoken. "I apologize for bothering you this late at night but we've been aware that there is an intruder on the loose. I just need to know if you've seen him." Sunset thought about what Berry said. Perhaps there was a good reason why they shouldn't turn him over. She shook her head. "No actually, I have no idea who you're talking about," she lied. The boy suspected that Sunset was lying. "Really, perhaps you won't mind if we take a look around the house do you?" Sunset then noticed a whole group of people come out of the car. Whoever they were, they looked anything but friendly.
"Now wait just one second!" AJ was at the door now. "You people have no right to enter here!"
The boy grinned like a shark. "Oh my, where are my manners?" He extended his hand. "My name is Chance."
"Well, Chance you best better leave before ah call the cops!" AJ warned. "And don't think I'm playin!"
"OK, ok I'm leaving." Chance said as he was leaving. "But please let me know if you do find him. I'll be around town." He got back in his car and drove off.
"Who was that?" Fluttershy asked Berry.
"I-Is he gone?" Berry's voice was heard around the corner.
"He's gone you can come out now." Sunset told him. Berry took a deep breath and explained everything.
"The reason why I came here is because I'm on the run." He looked worried now. Worried that someone else was nearby. "That boy you met, he's the leader of the Chaotics. They take us kids and make us into Super Heroes."
"Cool!" Said Rainbow. AJ glared at the athlete.
"Sorry," Rainbow said sheepishly.
"Anyways," Berry continued. "They control our lives. And alot those people...they haven't seen the light of day since they were taken. I don't know who else but me escaped."
He paused for a moment. "If you can help me free my friends and the others I would be so grateful." He pleaded. "But...you probably can't be bothered...it's alright," he said sadly.
"Are you crazy? We'll totally help you out!" Rainbow exclaimed. Berry's eyes lit up.
"Are you for real?" He hoped she wasn't joking.
"Of course, sugarcube." AJ said. She smiled to make him feel comfortable. "Thank you so much!" Berry sighed with relief.
"Now, do you have power?" Twilight asked
"Yes..." Berry answered. He demonstrated by moving the couch from one end of the room to another. All everyone could do was stare in amazement.
"I don't why I can..." he tried to explain.
"Ah don't worry about it!" Rarity assured him. "I'm sure it'll come yo you eventually."
"Hey...do you mind if I stay here for the night?" Berry asked nervously. "I don't really feel comfortable going outside now that you know....he's out there looking for me."
"Of course you can stay." Sunset said. "There's a couch you can sleep on."
"Thanks again for everything." Berry sighed gratefully.
An owl who had been observing the whole thing flew off. It went to a nearby outdoor Cafe where Chance and his gang were at. It landed on the table the latter was at and made a few hoo sounds.
"I had my suspicions that he was there." He told the owl. "We'll let him go for now. But tomorrow," he turned to his gang. "We take him back, got it?" His gang nodded in agreement.
"Good." "You can go," he told the Owl. It flew off. Chance laughed to himself. "You better watch out Berry, because I've got a target on your back."
Berry ended up sleeping on the couch. He was having a bit of trouble sleeping. Knowing that he is being hunted. He knew he couldn't stay here forever. Even though these girls seemed really nice he still didn't feel comfortable. What if they changed their mind and turned him in? He knew he couldn't stay here forever. He looked at the clock. It was already 11:30. He had overslept. He rolled over and Pinkie was suddenly in his face.
"Morning, Sleepy head!" She chirped.
"gah!" he yelled in surprised. Pinkie grabbed his arm. "Come on!"
"We're we going?" he asked still trying to wake up.
"We're going to the mall, silly!" Pinkie told him still dragging him. "There's a great place where we can eat!" The other girls were already in the car. Sunset was in the driver seat. Berry decided to try and squeeze between Rainbow and Fluttershy. It was a little claustrophobic but he could probably handle it. As long as the ride wasn't too long. As they drove, Berry began to talk. "So uh....who are you? I don't think I've gotten your names."
"I'm Sunset," said the girl at the driver seat. "Sunset Shimmer." The rest of the girls introduced themselves.
"Twilight."
"Rainbow Dash!"
"Rarity."
"Applejack."
"Pinkie Pie!"
"Fluttershy."
"well nice to meet you all, and you already know my name is Berry?"
"Mhm," AJ nodded.
Before long, they were at the front of the mall. They got out of the car.
"You said there's a place to eat here?" Berry asked Pinkie. He hoped she was right. He was hungry.
"Yeah, it's just inside!" Pinkie replied. Eager to move on.
"It looks like there's a lot of people," Berry commented to himself. "Let's hope they are not spies or something," he murmured under his breath.
They walked inside and the first thing Berry noticed was that he was right. There were a lot of people. "Come on, the eating hub is just around the corner!" Rainbow pointed out. They turned the corner and Sunset bumped into a girl.
"Oh my gosh! Im so sorry!" She quickly apologized. The girl brushed herself off like it's not big deal.
"Don't worry about it, I wasn't watching where I was going either." She replied in a sweet tone. Sunset realized the girl looked familiar, then she realized. Rainbow also realized it too.
"Wait! You're that girl on TV!" She exclaimed. The girl nodded and laughed nervously.
"Yes. Thank's for noticing." She extended her hand. "I'm Rosie Shine by the way, or you can call me Rose for short. " Sunset shook her hand. "Sunset," she told her. She turned towards the other girls, "And this is Twilight, Fluttershy, AppleJack, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, and Berry." Sunset noticed that the latter was looking at Rose like she wasn't a friendly person. "Oh don't worry about him," Sunset said. "He's just gets a little uneasy around new people."
Rose smiled. "That's quite alright, I know what it's like to meet people that I don't even know."
"You're that girl who can do magic!" Rainbow pointed out.
"Rainbow!" AJ glared at her friend.
"No, no it's alright!" Rose told her. "And yes, I can." She demonstrated by opening her palm and concentrating on it. A small flame emerged. She then moved a table by herself by what Sunset assumed to be telekinesis.
"Wow! you have powers too?!" Rainbow asked excitedly. "Twilight has that same power as well!" Twilight nodded and smiled.
"So what brings you here to Canterlot city?" AJ asked.
"You see," Rose began, "When I realized that there was magic in this world, I knew I must learn more about it! It's everywhere! And it's absolutely beautiful don't you think?"
"I sure do!" Rarity agreed.
"And with magic, we can do things that we had all called impossible." Rose continued. "Hey, how about you come over to my place? I actually have a lab."
"Really?! So do I!" Twilight exclaimed.
"I don't know....Twilight," Berry muttered trying to get away.
"She's not going to hurt you, darling" Rarity assured him. "Come on, let's go eat first!" They sat down at a large table and began to order. Berry ordered his usually eggs with french toast and the girls ordered thier food. While they Fluttershy asked, "so do you know where your parents might be?" Berry stopped eating and stared down at his food.
"My....parents?" he looked a little confused. "Im not going to lie....I don't.....know," he sighed. "Actually, I've been told my parents had died....in a car crash," his voice was empty at this point. "And that was it. I don't remember the rest." Fluttershy put her hand to her mouth. "Oh god! I am so sorry!"
"Don't worry about it...you didn't know," Berry tried to smile but couldn't. After they finished eating, they all went shopping.
"we must find a new outfit for you, darling." Rarity told Berry. "That outfit looks like you got it from the dollar store no offense." Berry laughed a little. As they headed to a store, Berry saw a familiar face. "uh oh...he's here!" he whispered loudly. Chance had just walked in. followed by his gang. He a familiar group of girls but this time. He saw that Berry was with him.
"What is he doing here?" AJ asked under her breath. Chance walked toward him followed by his gang. "You know, im not surprised I would find you here," he said. He looked at Berry. "And I see you got who we're looking for." He smugged. "Now if you can just hand him over and we'll call it good. I apologize if he's been a bother."
"Im not going," Berry said stubbornly. Chance took a deep breath and tried again.
"listen, you don't have authority over me. So your coming with me, got it?" AJ stepped forward.
"He's not going anywhere!" Chance looked at AJ coldly. Then his expression began to soften.
"Look, if we don't have him, he could hurt someone," he told her.
"Like I believe you," the farmer retorted.
Chance suddenly reached to grab Berry's arm but the latter responded by sending the boy flying and crashing on a nearby table.
"HOLY" said one of Chance's henchmen. Chance groaned as he struggled to get up.
"GET HIM!" he ordered. Now his whole gang was trying to capture Berry. Two people managed to pin him to the ground. "put the handcuffs on," Chance ordered. One of his men took the handcuffs out but Twilight sent him flying to the side and knocking out two others. Berry saw this as his chance to escape but Chance wasn't making it easy. He grabbed a nearby chair and swung. Fortunately, Berry ducked in time. However, he found himself being pinned down. Before he knew it, he was being dragged away towards the door. He began to panic. "Help!" he desperately called out. Rarity threw a crystal sphere at the henchmen knocking them out. Unbeknownst to Chance, Pinkie was right behind him. She snatched the chair away.
"Why don't you try a cupcake, you big meanie!" she shouted. She took a large cupcake and stuffed it in the his mouth. Chance was taken by surprise as he stumbled backwards. AJ then used her lasso and caught his ankle as he tried to get back up. With one big swing she sent him crashing through the glass window.
"Leave," she said coldly. Two security officers came by and escorted Chance out the door. He angrily glared at Berry. As he stumbled back to his car, he heard Rainbow say, "And don't think about messing with us again!" He stopped and turned around and pointed at Berry. "I will have him, you hear me?" Rainbow laughed out loud.
"Please! I like to see you try again!" Chance can only stare back in anger knowing there was nothing he could do for now. He got in the passenger side of his car and his gang drove off. As they drove off, a black widow spider descended and landed on his hand. He looked at the spider. "You know what to do," he told it. The spider nodded and Chance opened the window. He let the spider out. It started to go after it's target.
Sunset watched the car drive off. She didn't turn around until she couldn't see the car anymore. Fluttershy can only stare in shock.
"No wonder why you're on the run!" she said quietly.
"Come on, darling. We still have to find a new outfit for you to wear!" Rarity said quickly as she grabbed Berry's arm.
"I don't need a new outfit, it's fine," he told her. Rarity shook her head. "I completely disagree you can never have too many outfits!"
"And if you wear something different, you might not get recognized," AJ added. Berry sighed.
"Alright," he reluctantly agreed. AJ looked over at the cashier and at the shattered window. She laughed sheepishly.
"heh heh, sorry about that...." The cashier waved her off.
"No worries. I was actually worried about that boy. He seemed kind of dangerous." he told her.
"I'll just call the repair people to fix it for me."
"kind of dangerous...more like unsafe to be here or anywhere," Berry muttered but the cashier didn't seem to noticed.
Rarity came with what appears to be 40 different outfits.
"Why don't you try these on."
"I-I thought we were only getting a few," Berry stuttered. Rarity looked at him confused.
"This is only a few...well compared to the ones I have." Sunset nodded in agreement.
"She has so many outfits, she sometimes loses things in her own closet," she told him. Berry groaned. "Alright." After over and hour and a half of trying new outfits, Rarity decided to buy them all even though Berry said he didn't need any.
"Nonsense! You never know when you might need to wear them!" She told him. The cashier rang up the total. Two thousand dollars. Berry's eyes widened in surprise.
"I don't have that kind of money!" He reached into his pockets. "In fact, I don't any money at all!"
Rarity came to the cashier.
"Don't worry, darling." She looked at the cashier. "I believe this should cover it!" She handed him a wad of bills. The cashier counted them to make sure the amount was paid. Satisfied he gave her the receipt.
"That should cover it, you have a nice day!" he smiled. Rarity and the rest left the store. Berry wore a different outfit. Especially a hat to cover his face.
"What next?" Berry asked as they left the mall. They went inside the car and Twilight levitated the shopping bags into the truck. As she closed the lid she saw Rose come by.
"Hey Rose, you said you had a lab at your place?" Twilight was eager to check it out, considering she had one herself. Rose nodded and smiled. "Of course just follow me if you will." Twilight and the rest got into the car and followed Rose to her house. It was a fairly big house. No where close to a mansion but bigger than the average home. As they got out of the car, Rose led them to the front door.
"Welcome to my place. Please come make yourself at home," she said warmly. As soon as Berry, who was the last to enter stepped in, Rose closed the door behind him.
"I think we all know what we're here for. I won't waste your time. This way!" She motioned the girls and Berry to follow her. They went through a hallway. As they walked on, Berry got an uncomfortable feeling about all this.
"You know what? I think I'm just going to wait in the car," he said suddenly. Sunset looked at him worried.
"Are you alright?"
"I don't know..."Berry mumbled.
"I'm sure you're just worrying too much," suggested Rarity. Berry thought that she was right. Maybe he was getting a bit over worried.
"I guess so," he reluctantly agreed.
"And this door leads to the basement, which is my lab," she explained. She opened the door and they followed her in. The air around them smelled...nice for a basement.
"It's kinda dark in here," Rainbow commented.
"That's because she hasn't turned on the lights, silly!" Pinkie giggled.
"I know that," Rainbow said rolling her eyes. Rose turned on the lights and everyone, especially Twilight was amazed by what they saw. It was a full scale laboratory that would surely make even the most fanatical science person gaze at it in awe.
"This must cost a fortune!" Twilight gasped. She looked around some more.
"Twilight, you said you had a lab too?" Rose asked as she continued to show them around. Twilight was too busy admiring when she snapped back into reality.
"Oh! Yeah I do!...it's just no where near as cool as this."
"As you might already know, most of my lab is powered by magic in this world." Rose said. Suddenly from inside her pocket her phone rang. She took it out and looked to see who was calling her. She had a slight frown on her face. She looked up.
"I am so sorry but I must take this," she said apologetically.
"I'll be right back, just try not to blow the place up," she told them as she went upstairs and closed the door.
"I wonder who's calling her?" Rainbow wondered.
"Well she is kinda famous you know with her being on TV and all, probably a fan," suggested Rarity. Twilight was looking at a cabinet. It stood out from the lab. Almost as if the main purpose was for it to be noticed. She opened the cabinet and was shocked by what she saw. It was a case full of chemical liquids each one labeled. "fire power" "invisiblility" "Ice" "Elemntals" Rainbow was behind her.
"So that's how she has powers," she muttered.
"Oh I see you're looking at those!"
Twilight jumped in surprise and turned around.
Rose has returned.
"Who was that on the phone?" AppleJack questioned. Rose's face briefly changed into a startled expression, but quickly changed back so fast, AppleJack wasn't even sure it happened.
"Oh, well you know how I'm currently learning about magic in this world?" Rose asked. Applejack nodded although she still had her suspicions.
"Yeah well its a close associate of mine. He helps me with my research."
"And who might that be?" Rarity asked. Rose shook her head apologetically.
"I'm sorry, but he wishes to remain anonymous. I guess he just doesn't want to deal with people asking him a lot of questions." She then noticed Twilight gazing in awe at the chemicals.
"I see you're looking at those."
She pointed to the liquids and explained.
"I use those to acquire magic. You see, one day I wanna become a superhero."
"A superhero? Sweet!" Rainbow said excitedly. A smug appeared on her face. "You know, I don't mean to brag or anything but....We are some pretty good superheroes. We are called the Equestria Girls!" Rose was quite impressed.
"oooh, what kinda of super hero things do you do?" she asked interested to know more.
"We save the world from danger like a gazillion times!" Rainbow replied.
"Hey uhh can we go now?" I kinda don't want to stay at one place for long," Berry told Rainbow. She had almost forgotten about the kid.
"Oh sure!" Sunset looked at Rose.
"I'm sorry but we gotta go." She looked at Berry. "He's on the run by a group who he says are the Chaotics"
"Ahhh, I heard they are extremely dangerous," well I won't waste your time, if you have to leave go on right ahead," she smiled. "Thanks for visiting anyways,"
"It's no problem Sunset smiled back. They left the house and drove off.
As Sunset drove, she looked in the rear view mirror and asked Berry, "Do you remember anything about your past at all?" Berry looked down and tried to think.
"I just can't recall much," he answered slowly. "All I remember was waking up in a building and being told my parents had died in a car crash." He paused for a moment. "Every morning they would wake us up and we would head over to the underground where we would work on our powers. They wanted to make us into 'better humans' they would tell us that everyday. But I know the truth. One day, when they no longer need us, they will sell us for cash." Rarity shook her head in disgust.
"Aboslutley disgraceful!" she said sharply. Berry then looked out the window. "One day, if I'm ever free, I wanna go to places!" He sighed. "But most importantly of all, I wanna go outside without being worried about being tracked down." He then remembered what he saw.
"Though now that I saw the cabinet, I think that's how I got my powers," he realized. "But, now the question is when I got them?" He looked at Rainbow, "By the way, didn't you say you were superheroes?" The athlete beamed with delight.
"uhh yea!" she said. "Probably the coolest superheroes you will see!"
"What kind of powers do you girls have?" Berry asked the girls. Rainbow Dash went first.
"I can go fast, like super fast you won't even see me!" She smugged.
"I can lift really heavy things," Applejack went next.
"Oh so you can lift cars and trucks?" Berry asked amazed. Applejack nodded.
"mhm," Berry looked at Twilight.
"Wait don't you have the same power as I do?"
"Oh yeah, I do!" she replied. "I also can move objects and people without needing contact."
"I can make sweet things explode!" chirped Pinkie. Berry looked confused.
"Basically if Pinkie here has a cupcake or anything sweet and she throws it, she can make it explode when it hits something," Applejack explained.
"unique..." Berry mused. "What about you?" he asked Fluttershy. The girl smiled at him.
"oh well me? I can talk to animals."
"That's actually super cool if you ask me," I wish I had that power too," Berry told her.
"Thanks," Fluttershy said.
"I can make diamond projections," Rarity said. She demonstrated by constructing a diomand crystal from her bare hands. Berry could only stare in amazement. Last but not least was Sunset.
"I can read people's thoughts," she said. "As long as I can touch them, I know all their secrets." Berry looked a bit nervous.
"Don't worry, I'm not that kind of person who tries to steal someone's secrets," she laughed.
"You know, I just remembered where's Spike?" Applejack asked. She looked at Twilight.
"Isn't he usually with you?"
"Who's spike?" Berry asked confused. "Is he like your little brother or something?" he asked Twilight. Twilight shook her head. "No, he's a puppy, I usually bring him along, but one of my friend Starlight offered to watch him for me while I was gone."
"Where are we going?" Berry asked.
"To my place, because if we're going to help you, we might need something that might be useful," Twilight said.
Chance muttered angrily under his breath. Those girls are going to regret not giving me that boy , he thought. He turned to his crew. "I've already sent a poisonous black widow to kill them, but I don't think that's going to be enough." He pointed to two of his henchmen. "You two, take these," he went to his trunk and handed them each what appears to be a deathray. "get rid of them," he ordered. "After that, take the boy back to the Chaotic Headquarters." His phone rang. He looked a bit confused as he answered it.
"Chance speaking." After listening to whoever was on the other side, Chance spoke again. "Alright, I'll get right on it." He turned to his two henchmen. "You two, kill those girls and bring that boy back." He looked at the rest of his gang. "All others we're going to pay someone a visit," he said.
Starlight waited for another text message from Twilight or anyone when they were going to be back. After waiting for awhile, she groaned. "Well, Spike, it looks like they're not coming home anytime soon.
"Ah they're probably just doing another save the day thing," Spike assured her. Starlight reached down and gave Spike a scratch behind the ears. He enjoyed it as he rolled over. Starlight laughed. A loud knock suddenly came from the door.
"That must be them!" Spike exclaimed as Starlight ran to the door. She opened the door only to find out it was not her friends. Instead it was a boy with a gray white t shirt, jeans, and he wore a pair of aviator shades.
"Oh...." Starlight was a bit disappointed but nonetheless tried her best to act friendly.
"Is there anything I can help you with?" The boy grinned.
"Oh nothing at all," he told her. It was then Starlight noticed that the boy wasn't alone. About a whole gang of people were with him. Starlight could sense something was not good.
"Do you need something?" Starlight was now getting more nervous as Chance and his gang started to step inside while Starlight was trying her best not to fall over. "If you're wondering, my name is Chance, I'm the head of the ChaoticCorps, and actually there is something we need," he grinned like a shark. "You." Suddenly Starlight found herself being pinned down on the ground. She shrieked desperately calling out for help. "Put the handcuffs on her," Chance ordered. He then noticed a puppy charging and barking at them. he quickly took out a tranquilizer gun and shot. A perfect target, spike
fell over unconscious.
"SPIKE!" She screamed. Chance and his crew struggled a bit trying to drag her to the car, as Starlight kept on resisting. "Quiet or someone might hear you," he warned her. Starlight was scared now. "What are you doing?" her voice quivered. Chance didn't answer as his henchmen threw Starlight into the trunk and drove off.
Spike began to regain consciousness but his vision was still blurry. "Ughhh," he groaned. His side still a little painful, he slowly got up. "Starlight?" He began to search around, then he remembered. "Starlight!" He shouted desperately. Just then, the front door opened to reveal Sunset. She immediately recognized something was wrong...something very wrong. She looked down at Spike.
"Spike? Where is Starlight?" She asked beginning to grow more concerned.
"They took her!" he said just as panicked as Sunset.
"Who?!" Rarity asked. "Maybe we can try and call her!" she suggested.
"I don't know!" Spike responded. "Wait! I think I overheard someone say his name was Chance or something!"
"So it was him!" AJ snarled. Spike looked confused. "Wait you know him?"
"Yeah! He's the one who's trying to capture him!" Rainbow answered.
"Wait who is "him"? Spike asked looking around. It was then he noticed a young child.
"wow, a talking dog," the child mused. "Name's Berry by the way, and I heard you're name was Spike?"
Spike nodded. "Why are you being tracked down?" Spike asked.
"we don't have much time. So I'll explain it quickly. I have powers, Chance wants to capture me and possibly exploit on it," Berry replied.
"Do you have any idea where they might have taken her?" Fluttershy asked. Berry nodded.
"Yes...I think I know where," After they all ran back into the car, Berry began to give directions on where to go.
Starlight found herself tied in a chair. It seemed like she was in some type of cell. Somewhere in a building or facility. The cell door opened and in walked Chance. He walked right over to Starlight. "I'm not going to waste any time," he began speaking. "I am aware that you are friends with 7 girls?" He listed them all. "Is that true?"
"Yes..." Starlight replied. "What do you want?" Chance began to laugh a little. "Well I don't know if it came to your knowledge but they seem to be harboring a dangerous human," he informed her. from his phone he took out a photo and Starlight saw a young boy on it. "This is the child we need. So you can help us." A sinister grin began to spread across his face as he took out a death ray and pointed it at Starlight's head. The girl began to whimper softly. "Or if you refuse not to, you might not live to see the next day," He told her coldly. His phone rang again. Chance answered it.
"Chance speaking," Starlight couldn't hear who was on the other side. Whoever it was seemed to be the one giving Chance orders.
"Yes," he finally said. "I'll make sure you'll have that boy, trust me." "The other girls? I know,, I've already sent two of men to kill them. He hung up.
"Who was that?" Starlight asked hoping to buy some time.
"That's non of your concern," Chance told her. "At least not right now. Now I would love to stay here and chat all day but I got a job to do...so you'll be here until you make up your mind. If I were you, I'd choose the first option." He left without saying another word.
"HEY! GET BACK HERE!" Starlight screamed, chance ignored her and closed the cell door followed by a locking noise. She then remembered she still had her phone. Maybe she can call for help. But the problem was that her hands were tied to her sides. Chance seemed to notice what she was trying to do because he said, "Good luck trying to call for help, and even if you somehow do manage to with the way you're tied up, we'll be ready for them when they do come," he said in a cold voice. "Besides, I've already got them on a hitlist." He began to laugh cruelly. He turned around and left. He addressed his crew. "Keep a lookout for any cars that might be heading our way," he ordered. He whistled and a falcon came swooping down landing on his shoulder. Starlight watched. Was he talking to the falcon? "I need you to also keep a look out. And report to me when they are here."
Word going around about missing children had gone viral around the city of Canterlot. Headlines such as "Kids mysteriously vanish," "Children gone missing," and "Possible Kidnapping? Children suddenly vanish," have surfaced on the internet. Although mostly young children, older teens and even adults have gone missing as well.
"Don't worry everyone," Rose had told a crowd that had gathered during one of her speeches. "I am very well aware what is happening right now. We are trying our best to solve this mystery." There was one speculation though. Many parents think that a place had something to do with their kids being missing. It was a facility where parents were told that their kids would spend quite awhile in. No one knew what for, they were only informed it was for the child's benefit. But after a month, things started to seem very wrong.
"Do you know where my child could be?" A woman asked now worried.
"Like I said, you have nothing to worry about. We are currently trying to solve this problem. Just don't give up, ok?" Rose assured the woman with a smile.
"I think that's enough for now." Rose said as she began to end her speech session. "Thank you all for coming. We will continue through this tomorrow." She quickly turned around, got back in her car and drove off."
"Do you remember where you escaped from?" Fluttershy asked Berry who was looking out the window. He nodded. "Turn left here" he said. Sunset made a left turn. They continued to go down the road. "Right there!" Berry pointed out. It was a facility building. Nearly impossible to miss. "Wow! I have never seen anything like it!" Pinkie gasped. "You sure this is the place?" Twilight asked.
"I think so..." Berry said, They pulled to a stop and stepped out of the car. The first thing they noticed was that the front was being guarded. Chance had been watching via security camera the entire time. Looks like they did came, he thought to himself. He went outside to confront the Mane 7.
"There's gotta be a way in!" Rainbow said trying to look for another entrance.
"Sorry, but the only way is through the front," Berry said. He was unsure how they were going to sneak in.
"I just knew you all would come." Chance had just stepped outside. He was wearing a white t-shirt, jeans and had a pair of aviator shades on.
"Give us Starlight!" Rarity shouted. Chance snickered and laughed cruelly. "Sure, I'll happily give you, Starlight. Just give me the child and we can call it good."
"No, you give us Starlight and get out of our sight," Applejack growled. She started to crack her knuckles. Chance chuckled. "I don't think you heard what I said," he began.
"I am about to make you wish you weren't even alive!" Applejack screamed. Chance only laughed.
"You know, you wouldn't be acting all big and tough if it weren't for your powers. Admit it. You're nothing without them." Applejack fell silent.
"Silent now, huh?" Chance taunted. "Sorry, I just gotta hit you with the reality check." He then pulled out a death ray. And pointed the gun towards the girls. "Now would you like to say you're goodbyes first?"
"No," Twilight said. She smugged.
"What?" Chance asked a hint of anger in his voice.
Chance was suddenly knocked out from behind. He fell over unconcious. Rainbow was behind him with a crowbar in her hands. The guards immediately turned thier direction and pointed thier weapons towards them.
"Don't move!"
They commanded. Berry suddenly raised his hands and the two men infront of him looked like they had been shot out of a catapult. They crashed through the building with a huge noise. The other guards then opened fire. Rarity put up a shield to protect her and her friends from being shot.
"I don't know how long I can keep it up!" Rarity shouted worried now because the crystal forcefield was beginning to give way.
"I can deal with them!" AJ answered. Rarity let her out. As soon as she did, AJ took out her lasso and threw it at one of the guards feet, effectivley tying him. Then she swung and knocked down the guards to the side. Then she started to run towards one of the cars, whilst dodging the lazers.
"Get out the way!" She shouted to her friends. They instantly moved out of the way as she picked up a car and chucked it at her enemies. It was an effective blow.
"This way!" Berey motioned for the girls to come into the building.
"Hang on, Starlight! We're coming!" Pinkie yelled as she followed her friends inside.
Inside the building was a somewhat long hallway. On either side of the hall were cell like rooms. But they were not empty. Inside the cells were occupants. Some were very young children, while others were older like teens and even adults. Berry felt uncomfortable walking through the hallway. He also remembered this is where his friends are trapped too.
"Starlight can be anywhere," Berry said. As he followed the girls he saw something...or someone in the corner of his eye. He wasn't quite sure if he was seeing things. Maybe just one check. He thought to himself. He quickly went back to the is cell where he thought he saw someone.
"Hello?" He asked. He peeked inside and couldn't believe who he saw. It was another boy his age. Blonde hair, blue t shirt and jeans. He looked like he was bored out of his mind.
"D-Des?!" Berry said with excitement. If Des was here his other friends might be nearby somewhere! Des just noticed Berry on the other side of the cell door. His expression mirroring Berry's. "Wait Berry?!" He asked in shock. His voice made it sound like he was much younger than his age. "Oh my God, you came back!" He was ecstatic to see his friend.
"Listen ima help you and the others escape okay?" Berry informed. "I just need to find a key somewhere." He began to see where he could get one when he realized...that the girls had left him behind. He began to get worried. He couldn't shout for them. He would give himself away. And even with his powers, he knew it would only help him for so long.
"Something wrong?" Des asked.
"No no I'm fine." Berry reassured. "I'll try to be back as soon as I can once I get the key." He quitley but quickly brisked through the hallway hoping he wouldn't get caught. He was approaching a corner when he heard a horribly familiar voice. Chance. It sounded like he was talking on the phone. Berry decided to take a quick peek to be sure. He was right. But not only Chance but he had two henchman.
"It seems like they've gotten away," He said. Berry slowly creeper up closer to get a better hear.
"The last thing I remember is seeing the boy before those pathetic girls knocked me out," Chance continued. Berry had trouble hearing who was on the other line, but one things for sure. Whoever it was also wanted him.
"Understood. I already have her tied up." Chance finished as he hung up. He whistled and a falcon landed in front of him. It looked up.
"Find the boy for me, and tell me exactly where he's at," he said. The falcon obeyed and flew off. He entered another room and closed the door behind him.
Berry gasped in horror. I have to warn them!
Starlight was still tied to the chair. How long has she been tied up? She looked around for a clock but none was to be found. Her throat was parched. She needed something to drink. With great effort she desperately called out.
"Help! I'm in here!". She hoped her friends were coming to find her. I hope they know where I'm at. She then saw the door swing open. Unfortunately for her, it wasn't any of her friends or anyone who looked friendly. It was just Chance.
"What do you want," Starlight asked, her voice dry from the lack of liquids. Chance looked at her and said.
"I have someone coming over here and I told that person you'll be an ideal test subject."
"T-test subject?" Starlight asked beginning to get worried. Desperately trying to figure a way to get out. Chance nodded. "Correct, we want to try out something new. I think you'll like it." He attempted a smile, but Starlight knew it was fake. A knock on the door was heard. Chance went up to it and opened it a little to see who it was.
"Ah you're here. He turned his head to look at Starlight. "She's tied up. I think we're ready."
"Good. Looks like I can get started." The voice on the other side said.
Who Is that? Starlight wondered. It definitely wasn't any of her friends.
As Twilight and her friends continue to search the building, whilst trying not to get caught, Sunset realized someone was missing.
"Hey where is Berry?" Twilight then realized it too.
"What? He isn't with you?" Then the other girls realized that Berry was no longer with them.
"Do you remember when you guys last saw him?" Sunset asked them. They all shook thier heads.
"Actually, I remember seeing him right before we started to search for Starlight," Fluttershy recalled. Twilight groaned. "He can be anywhere!"
"I hope he's alright. It'll be terrible if he got caught!" Fluttershy said with concern. Applejack started to wall the other direction where they had came from.
"Perhaps we should go back and look for him," she suggested. Sunset slightly bit her lip.
"Alright," she said. "Me, Applejack and Rarity will continue to look for Starlight. Rainbow, Twilight, Pinkie and Fluttershy, you look for Berry." They split up.
Berry wondered through the halls trying to figure out how he was going to get pass security. As he neared a corner, he slowly peeked around a corner and saw a guard patrol the hallway. Being careful not to be seen, he used his telekinesis to make a large painting fly off the wall and hit the guard, knocking him out. Wasting no time, he rushed over to the knocked out guard and frantically searched for things like an ID card or keys that he could use. Come on, there's gotta be something! He continued to search the pockets but to his dissapointment, there was nothing the guard had.
Sunset, Applejack, and Rarity spent the next twenty minutes looking for Starlight. But with the halls being guarded on every corner, it was made nearly impossible. Two heavily armed guards stood at the end of the hallway, equiped with lethal death rays. They both looked intimidating.
"How are we going to get past them?" Rarity asked in a whisper.
"We have powers don't we?" AJ asked with a smug. Rarity realized what she should do. She conjured a giant diamond crystal above thier heads. She then let it drop. One of the guards looked up when he thought he saw something falling towards them. It was too late, the crystal knocked them out cold.
"Nice one, Rarity!" AJ complimented. Together they ran past the guards and continued thier search.
Even though Berry didn't get the keycard, he did obtain the guard's weapon. A small handheld military lazer gun that. He didn't have any expirences with guns so he wasn't quite sure how to shoot one. He continued to walk down the hallways looking for Starlight.
"Looks like you're finally alone now."
Berry jumped and turned around. To his horror, Chance had caught him. He grinned like a shark. Berry pointed the gun at the boy. "Stand back!" He yelled. Chance laughed at him. "I would be careful if I were you. Don't want anyone getting hurt do we?"
"Where is Starlight?" Berry asked still pointing the gun at Chance. The boy waved nonchalantly. "She's trapped in the cells below. With no way out."
"Let her go, now." Berry said through gritted teeth. Chance only laughed cruelly. "I could do that....orrr you can help me with something. I've noticed those girls you were with had special powers. I also noticed the things they wear around their necks. If you'll be so kind to lure them, I would appreciate it."
Berry looked worried. "Now why would I do that?" Chance's expression turned cold as he glared at the young child. Berry could feel a shiver go up his spine. "Do you really trust those girls? As nice they may seem, they would probably throw you off a building when they no longer find you useful." Berry rapidly shook his head. "That's not true!" Chance sighed then a wicked idea came into his head. "You could refuse, I guess....that is if you don't want to lose your little sister like your parents!" Berry gasped. "No! You can't do that, she's only three!" he cried out.
"Then what is it?" Chance asked. "Think about it this way. Your sister who you've known your whole life. Or some random strangers who you know nothing about." Berry sighed sadly.
"Ok...fine I'll do it!"
Chance grinned. "Thank you, Berry. Its very simple. All I need you to do is lure them to the back of the canterlot theater. Then me and my crew will take it from there." Then he said in a much more threatning voice, "If you tell the girls about this... or if they suspect anything, your sister will die, ok?" Berry shakily nodded. "And don't think I won't know," Chance continued. A white throated needle tail, swooped down and landed on Chance's shoulder. "This little guy will tell me everything, so don't lie to me, ok?" He laughed at Berry. "I suggest you go now, also you have 48 hours. Oh and if you try to kill me, or anyone, your sister also dies. He left a now terrified Berry alone in the hallway. The turned around and walked the other direction now crying feeling guilty about what he now has to do.
Berry felt a sharp pain of guilt from the bottom of his stomach. What am I going to do? If I say, anything my sister will die. And if I don't those girls will hate me! He looked up and sure enough, the falcon was above him. Intensely staring at him. Watching his every move. He walked down a bit longer until he heard a familiar voice ahead. He even thought he could hear them caling his name.
"Berry? Are you here?" a voice called out. Berry saw that the voice belonged to Fluttershy.
"Berry!" The timid girl ran towards the child. She looked relieved to see him. She kneeled down and gave him a hug.
"Oh I'm so glad your safe!"
"yeah...same with you." Berry said a bit sadly. Fluttershy looked at him. "What's wrong?" Berry tried not to cry as he looked up and saw the falcon watching him.
"It's nothing...." Fluttershy looked at him concerned. "I know there is something. You can tell me, its ok." Berry shook his head.
"I really don't feel comfortable telling you...at least right now." Fluttershy sighed and smiled.
"Well I'm glad you're safe. Come on, lets go find the others."
Berry followed Fluttershy until they reached Sunset and her friends.
"Berry!" They all gasped. They were all relieved to see him. Applejack noticed the child looking a bit down.
"What's the matter, sugarcube? You seem upset like someone had just died."
"He doesn't really wanna talk about it right now," Fluttershy whispered to AJ. The farm girl understood.
"We still haven't found Starlight," Sunset groaned. "I don't know where else she could be." Twilight put a comforting hand on Sunset's shoulder. "I'm sure she'll turn up soon. We just got to keep looking." Pinkie noticed the gun in Berry's hand.
"Where did you get that from?" She asked.
"Oh uhhhh, I got it from one of the guards after I knocked him out."
"Well how about I hold on to it, those things are very dangerous," AJ told him as Berry handed over the gun. "Can I hold on to it? It looks so awesome!" Rainbow asked.
"Rainbow! I just said this is a very dangerous weapon! You could accidentally shoot someone!" AJ said sternly. Rainbow scoffed. "What you think I don't know how a gun works? I'm not going to shoot anyone," Rainbow said as she took the gun from AJ, but as she said that, the gun fired and shot a nearby guard. He flew back and crashed into the wall. He groaned in pain while trying to get up.
"See, this is exactly why we don't trust you with guns!" AJ chided the athlete.
"Ok, but he's a bad guy, he was bound to get shot anyways!" Rainbow said AJ rolled her eyes.
"Fine, but don't say I didn't warn you."
Meanwhile, The public was gathered around the scientist, Rose. There was a news reporter at the scene. A middle aged women in a suit. She was next to Rose. She looked at the camera and said, "I am here today, with a very young but very brilliant scientist and inventor." Rose smiled as she waved towards the camera.
"Thank you, it's a real pleasure to be here," Rose said.
"Before we get to what we're doing today, we just want to know, what inspired you?" The News Reporter asked Rose. The girl beamed at the camera and answered with confidence.
"It's actually simple. I was just like you guys. Just an average human taking a walk outside, but then I noticed some strange happenings around our world...something we might call magial. I just couldn't help notice how beautiful it really is. So I thought, hey? why not take something already amazing and have it benefit our lives." She gave a warm smile. "I know modern times can be rough, so I just want to do the least I can to help someone out."
Rose thought this would be a good time to show off her new inventions. A man in a suit came up and handed Rose and object wrapped in paper. She unwrapped it to reveal a strange looking object that looked like it came from a Sci fi movie. "Most of my inventions will be fueled by magical energy from this world." She explained. "Without them, I don't know how far I could have gone." She held up the object. It was a simple looking cubic object with a few buttons on the top. "This is a teleporting device. It lets you teleport up to a range of a mile radius," She explained. "Now I don't just show these off for no reason...I want to give them to you guys! Whoever has the highest bid will take this awesome device home!"
"I'll give you five hundred grand!" Said someone from the crowd. A woman scoffed at the comment.
"What are you poor?" She turned to Rose. "I'll pay one million dollars for it!" Another person laughed.
"Yall are so pitiful. ten million dollars I will offer!" he said to Rose. Rose smiled. "Relax, everyone I got more cool stuff." The man in a suit came back with different inventions. One was a triangle shaped pyramid and the other looked like a circular disc. She held up the triangle pyramid first. "This is a cloning device. Just zap something or someone you want to clone." She demonstrated by zapping a nearby child and suddenly there were two. The twins looked looked at eachother confused. The crowd gasped in amazement.
Rose held up the disc shaped next. "This is perhaps one of personal favorites. A minature flying saucer. It has a camera attached to it, super fast, and can fly really high." She smiled. "So who would want this?"
Suddenly her phone buzzed. She looked at her phone and saw a text notification.
"Im sorry, guys but I'll have to cut this short. After this one, Im going to have to leave for today."
The crowd nodded.
"I'll take that!" A man said pointing at the disc shape. "I bet no one can beat me on 1 billion!" Rose was shocked by this.
"Anyone else wanna go? Going once, going twice...SOLD!" She gave the disc to the man. He thanked her and went on his way. After that, Rose was done, she was escorted back in her car and drove off.
Black Market and Flashback
The problem with the missing children is only getting worse. More parents have reported thier kids myteriously vanishing without a trace, no one knows where, but are certain these kids are still alive. All parents who were asked said the house they lived in did not look like it was broken into. No broken window, no broken down door. As the problem started to get worse, renowned scientist and inventor Rose told everyone she had sent out an investigation team to look out for them.
"Just stay calm everyone!" she had told them. "We'll find them and you'll reunite with your loved ones!"
Somewhere within the apartment complex of Canterlot City was home to some of the most vicious gang members in the city. The apartment itself was run down. 5 stories, definitley not high quality looking. A car pulled up in the parking lot: Chance's car. He got out and went to the back where he bought out a big bag. He put it over his shoulders. He knew he was supposed to be on the lookout for Berry, but he figured the kid wasn't going to show up anytime soon, so he might as well do a bit of selling. He went to the apartment and walked up the three flight of stairs. He approached a door. He knocked on it 2 times, then 5, and then 1. It was a secret way so there would be little chance of getting caught. The door opened to reveal a man, probably in his late thirties. He had on a hoodie, ripped jeans, and athletic shoes. He was light skinned and had black hair.
"What you want?" He asked in a threatening manner. Behind him his thugs looked ready to attack. Chance coolly walked in. He gave a small smile.
"Hey now, Ace, I'm not the enemy here right?" I came to see if you'd buy these." He walked to the living room with the bag still in his right hand. He set it down on the table. He motioned Ace to open it. "Why don't you take a look inside?" The leader carefully walked towards the bag. Placing his hands on the zipper he unzipped and opened the bag. Then, he turned it upside down, and dumped the contents on the table. It was a bunch of dangerous weapons, but they weren't normal. These were highly technologically advanced. Grenades, plasma pistols, deathrays, and even sniper beam rifles. These were some of the most lethal weapons.
"Pretty neat, aren't they?" Chance asked with a smug. Ace took one of the death rays and held it in his hand.
"So this is supposed to be a one-shot kill?" he asked. Chance nodded. "Yes, I am very positive on that." Ace then picked up a sniper beam. He went out to the balcony and aimed in the air acting like he was going to shoot. He went back inside.
"Do you like it?" Chance asked. Ace smiled.
"Love it." He whistled for one of his men to bring out a bag. He set it down on the table and Chance opened it. Inside were wads of cash, all filled with stacks of 100s. He grinned to himself and took the bag.
"Thanks for you're time, enjoy your new weapons." He waved goodbye and left with the money bag in his hand. He got in his car and drove off again. When he got to a red light, his phone started buzzing. He answered it.
"Mhm, I don't think he's shown up yet so I decided to give these weapons while I waited....Yes they accepted them and I got the cash...Starlight is working just perfectly, it seems like nothing can stop her...Ok I'll call you back if I have anything else to report. He hung up just as the light turned green and he coninued driving back to Canterlot Theater.
*flashback*
*one year ago*
Berry woke up from his cell. It was a dark room, and with no clocks he didn't know what time of the day it was. He groaned as he got out of his bed. It wasn't an ideal comfy one but it was perhaps the most luxurious thing there was in the cell. It had a torn matress and the legs looked so old and scratched. Two guards came and opened the cell door. They escorted him to a room. In it were average adult sized dummies. It was the training room. Where people like Berry would work on thier powers. He groaned. He had done this since he was five. He walked inside the room and raised his hands. The dummy flew back knocking the others. He then motioned his hands to the right and the dummies flew across the room to the right. He raised his hands in the the air and did a fast smack down in the air. The dummies rose up and smacked down hard on the floor.
"Nicely done," One of the guard said. Training went on for awhile. Agility, speed, technique were all used. When they were done, they escorted Berry back to his cell. His sister was there too. She was two years old, asleep on the bed. She was so young so they didn't put any powers in her yet. She started to wake up. She then started to cry, so Berry quickly thought of a way to shush her. He went towards her and put his arms around his sister.
"shhh it's ok, Lily..." the poor girl kept on crying softly as she buried her head on his belly and hugged his waist. Berry kneeled down to her level and looked at her.
"I know you don't like it here, but I don't know where else we can go...." He himself felt like crying too. This place was not a nice one. Children like him were very vulnerable to abuse, and once they have "outlived" thier time here, they were going to be sold into trafficking. The thought made him furious. He wanted to send the person responsible for this flying through five walls.
*Flashback*
Everyday in the "training" facility was the same. Nothing ever change. It was the same thing over and over again. Nothing ever changed. To Berry, it was like reliving the same nightmare everyday. The facility was not a nice place, nor was it ever. Kids like Berry had to obey orders, otherwise they were "disicplined" and that included getting beaten up and mistreated in horrible ways. Berry had seen just how bad it could get. His friend Des returned with a swollen eye because he didn't want to do any more training. He told them he was tired and they responded with a hard hit to his right eye. His other friend Amber returned with a fracture on her skull for disobeying a small order. It disgusted Berry to the point where he would want to send whoever was responsible through five walls, but he had to keep his anger in check as to not scare his little sister, who was sleeping on the bed. He looked over at her and saw her stomach slowly raising up and down due to her breathing. Berry couldn't help but think, Where would they go? Berry's sister started to wake up she began to cry softly. He felt his heart melt over how his sister felt. He went over to comfort her. His sister saw him and got up went towards him. She buried her head on his belly and hugged his waist. Berry embraced his little sister and rubbed her back and soothingly said.
"shhhh...It's ok Lily. It's ok..." But even Berry wasn't sure what he was saying was the truth. A dreadful feeling was in his stomach. Everything was NOT ok...but he didn't have the courage to say it.
"I wanna go home..." Lily sniffed still hugging his waist. Berry looked at Lily, getting teary eyed himself. He said in a broken voice.
"I-I don't know if we can go home...Mom and Dad....they're...." Berry stopped and started to cry himself. "Gone. Berry then thought of something. It might be the stupidest idea, but it might work. He kneeled down to Lily's level and whispered.
"Listen, I'm going to make a run for it...I know you want to be with me but I promise I'll get some help and come back." Lily looked at Berry with those sad puppy eyes and tears leaking from them. He couldn't help but feel a bit guilty. He leaned foward and kissed the top of Lily's forehead. "Don't cry ok? I promise I'll be back. And you have Des and Amber to keep you company..." Lily finally understood and tearfully nodded.
"Don't leave me....please," she said softly.
All of sudden they heard footsteps coming from thier way as well as voices.
"This one seems to have the power to move objects without needing contact," a voice said.
"Interesting...." came another voice. "And what about his sister?" it asked.
Berry didn't know who the first voice belonged to, but immedialtey recognized the other to belong to the Chance. The leader of the ChaoticCorps and the one who oversees it's operations.
"His sister....she's far too young for any powers yet. We should probably wait until she's older." replied the first voice.
Chance thought about it for a moment. "Very well then. I have no doubt these children will be valuable. They will certainly give us a quite a good fortune once we sell them," he said in a calm tone. Berry felt a dread in the pit of his stomach. The thought of Child Labor Trafficking was too much for him. He heard the cell door open and saw Chance walk in.
"Come on, Berry. we need to run a few expirements with you." he told him. Berry slowly got up and walked towards Chance and his henchman., but not before giving his little sister one final hug.
When Berry approached Chance, he suddenly struck out his hands and the latter and his henchman were sent back in opposite directions. They hit the wall with a thud. Chance groaned as he got back up. He took out his death ray and pointed it at Berry but was met by another invisible giant hand that sent the gun flying out of his hand.
Berry decided to make a run for it. He rushed past the cell door to the nearest exit.
"FIND HIM. DON'T LET HIM ESCAPE!" He heard Chance's voice yell throughout the building. More guards came in Berry's way but he sent them flying to the side, hitting the walls. He escaped the building and continued to run. He didn't look back at all. He ran until he was out of breath, then he decided to look back. The building was no longer in sight. He continued to walk until he had spotted a city. He looked up and read out loud, "Canterlot City." Not wanting to waste anytime, he went out to see if anyone was willing to help him. He also had to be quick, because it was approaching night time, and it was getting really dark. As he walked in the city, he saw people's head turning towards his direction. Most presumambly they were confused as to why he was without a parent or legal guardian.
Berry didn't know how he was going to explain his problem to anyone. What are the chances that someone would believe him when he says that superpowers exsist? He finnally came across an apartment and saw a slight open window leading into it. He took a deep breath and went in.
Starlight, or who Chance liked to call Starvine, waited silently with him and his gang at the back of Canterlot Movie Theater. They were getting in thier ready positions. Thier weapons loaded. The same white thorated needletail from before flew by, swooped down and landed on Chance's shoulder to tell him that the Mane 7 and Berry were coming. He heard a car pull up so he got his gun ready. But it wasn't the girls. Instead it was a bunch of thugs, but not even Ace and his gang. Chance had never saw them before.
"Ayo, I best get out of here before someone gets hurt!" Chance threatened and pointed the gun at them. He then had an idea. He took out the black crystal and said.
"Starvine, why don't you teach these guys a lesson?"
Starvine silently walked over towards the leader of the thugs. A white skinned, ripped jeans, green shirt guy. He had tattoos all over his body. The leader couldn't help but laugh out loud.
"Pretty girl, I would get out of my way, if I were you." Starvine didn't move. She only had a sinister look on her face.
"I'm not telling you again...move or I'm going to kill you..." The leader said. When Starvine didn't move, the leader took out his gun and fired, hitting Starvine. What he didn't expect, however was Starvine still standing there.
The bullet went right through her body and she bled, but she brushed it off as if it were only a minor injury. Not to mention, as soon as the bullet went through the other side, her flesh, bone, and anything else pierced by the bullet was already healed completley.
The leader was visibly confused.
"What in the-"
Starvine had an angry look her her face. She gave an enraged scream as she picked up the leader, who was clearly taken by surprise and threw him threw the wall, but she wasn't done. She grabbed him by the foot and proceded to slam him repeteadly on the concrete floor, the ladder groaning in pain. Now the other thugs fired thier guns. They managed to slow Starvine down some, but it was ultimatley frutile. She effortlessly took down the whole gang of thugs. Chance snickered as he watched.
"Way to go, Starvine," He said. One of the thugs did manage to stab her with a knife, but if a bullet didn't kill her, then a knife was less than useless. Starvine took the knife out of her chest and grabbed the thug, the one who stabbed her, by the neck and slammed him through the brick wall. Breaking it and sending him smashing through it. Everyone groaned in pain from thier injuries. One even had a broken arm and leg. Chance walked over to the leader.
"Would killing you be neccesarry?" He asked. He pressed the gun down on his head. The leader decided it wasn't worth the risk of being killed. He slowly and painfully got up and limped back to his car.
"You'll regret this one day!" the leader said angrily as he got up and limped back in his car.
Author's Note
This chapter was a bit short but I wanted to post this.
Starlight under the spell/Berry's sister
Berry and the girls continued to look for Starlight. Berry could not help but feel terrible about what he was going to do. He looked up hoping the falcon was gone, but it wasn't. It gave him the same intense glare, almost as if it was waiting for him to slip up and tell. I could shoot it, but those kinds of birds are some of the fastest and I don't know how to aim with a gun. speaking of the gun, Rainbow Dash was holding it looking ready to shoot.
"You know how to shoot that thing, or are you going to shoot yourself in the foot?" Applejack asked bluntly.
"I told you, I know how to shoot!" Rainbow said annoyed as she waved the gun around. "I'm really good at fps games so I'm totally good at the real thing."
"Oh ok, so you your a pro at fps. That totally makes you certified to shoot a gun." AJ said sarcastically. "And please don't wave it around."
"I don't suppose any of you girls have a keycard or something?" Berry asked. Sunset shook her head.
"Same," Berry said. "All I got was that gun." As they continued walking, they heard two guards talking around the corner. Rainbow saw this as her chance. She loaded the gun and slowly walked towards the corner. Getting ready to shoot.
"Make sure you're not holding the gun backwards," AJ said. Rainbow rolled her eyes and carried on slowly walking.
Rainbow fired the gun, but missed. Luckily she ducked around the corner just in time. Rainbow couldn't believe she had just missed her shot.
"Rainbow! Are you crazy?!" Rarity hissed. "Give me that gun!" She snatched the gun away from the athlete.
"Hey!" Rainbow complained.
"They're coming this way!" Berry said as he peeked around the corner. Twilight used her telekinesis to knock the two guards to the side out cold. They continued thier search for Starlight. Berry could not help but look up to see the falcon still watching him.
48 hours Chance's voice repeated in his head over and over again.
"So what are we doing here?" one of Chance's henchmen asked. They were waiting in the back of Canterlot theater. Waiting for Berry to show up.
"We're going to be testing a few things while we wait." Chance said. He held a black crystal in his hand. "Starlight, come over here," he ordered..
As he said that, a girl walked towards them. She had a light green shirt, a black vest, gray pants, and black shoes. She also has a magenta hat on her head and a watch on her left hand. It was none other than Starlight. However her pupils were pure black and she had a red aura around her. She didn't say a word as she stood there. She was under a spell.
"From what I've been told, she's invincible." Chance said as he took out his switchblade. He approached Starlight, and with one smooth motion, made a cut on her left arm. She bled like any normal human, but she didn't scream. She didn't even flinch. What happened next surprised everyone. The gash on her arm instantly started to close up and the wound closed, healing completely as if she had never been cut in the first place.
His henchmen stared in shock. Chance grinned to himself. He took out his gun and pointed it at her head. He pulled the trigger. The recoil knocked him back, but Starlight didn't even have a scratch on her head. His phone started to ring again. Chance answered it.
"This is Chance speaking." He listened for a few minutes.
"Yes, I've told him. He has 48 hours.....I know, I know no need to worry about those girls, I think Starlight here could take them out pretty easily."
He hung up. He held the crystal. "Starlight, go back in the truck."
Starlight instantly obeyed and headed back. She got in the car and sat down.
Deep within the building of the ChaoticCorps was a three year old girl. She had light blue eyes, long brown hair, and wore a blue skirt. It was none other than Berry's sister, Lily. In her left hand she held a teddy bear. She cried in her cell. She didn't want to be here.
"I miss m-my mommy and daddy!" She cried out loud. "I want Berry!" A guard pounded on the cell door.
"Shut up in there!" he shouted. Lily continued to cry softly. She missed her home. She wanted to go home with her brother, but she knew there was no other choice. Thier parents had died and there was no place they can go to. She started to whimper.
"Please Berry, help us get out of here.." she said softly too herself. Since she was only three, she didn't have a power yet. All she knew was once they were done with her, they are going to sell her by trafficking. She cried thinking about it. The place was filled with Guards: There was little chance of escaping. At least she had some company. Also in the cell was an 8 year old girl. Red hair, emerald eyes, she wore a green t shirt with leggings. She was another good friend of Berry. Her name was Amber. Another was a boy the same age as Berry. Blonde hair, blue t shirt and jeans. It was Des. Amber went over and comforted the crying girl. Lily pressed her head on the girl's belly and hugged her waist.
"shhhh.....shhhhh it's ok.....it's ok.." she said softly.
"I know everything will be alright," Des said. "Berry would never forget about us." Hearing Berry's name caused Lily to start crying again, who was then quickly shushed by Amber, as she hugged the poor girl and rubbed her back.
"Just don't give up hope ok?" Des asked as he kneeled down to Lily's level. "Once we are free, we can do what we desire, does that sound good?" Lily nodded with tears in her eyes. "But....me and Berry have no where to live...b-b-beca..." she started crying again. Des kneeled down and hugged her.
"OUR PARENTS ARE DEAD!" She sobbed out loud. Amber put her hands over her mouth. Des felt terrible for the little girl.
"I am so sorry..." Amber said softly as she took Lily and shushed her again.
"One day...we will be free...I promise," Des said quietley.
