The next day, Twilight and her friends were getting ready to board the first train back to Ponyville before they were suddenly approuched by Flash Sentry.

"Princess Twilight wait up." Flash Sentry said. "I'm accompanying you and your friends back to Ponyville." He said.

"Seriously? We can handle ourselves back there." Rainbow Dash said.

"...You told Cadence about the whole guard thing didn't you? You know what, it doesn't matter. I had a feeling she'd put you on the guard list anyways." Twilight said. "Well come along then." She said.

"Of course Princess." Flash Sentry said.

"Why do you think Twilight thinks Cadence would've put Flash Sentry on the guard list?" Applejack said.

"Did you forget AJ? Cadence is the princess of love. And as much as I don't want to admit it, I've noticed how Flash looks at Twi; he totally has a crush on her." Rainbow Dash said.

"...You said that without gagging at it." Applejack said.

"Talking about somepony's crush is not mushy. It's the super sappy romance that can come of it that is the real mushy stuff." Rainbow Dash said and headed inside the train.

"...Ah hate it when she's honest like this..." Applejack said and boarded the train as well followed by the rest of the girls.

A long train ride later, and Ponyville was in sight.

"Here it is...Ponyville..." Twilight said letting Flash take in the sights for a bit.

"Not gonna lie...it looks a lot better then I expected it to. It has a nice homey feel to it. I like it." Flash Sentry said.

"And this is coming from someone who hasn't lived here for as long as the rest of us have." Rainbow Dash whispered to Applejack who just shrugged. The girls all headed for their respective homes, with Twilight leading both Starlight and Flash to the Castle of Friendship.

"I'm sure there will be time for a more proper tour later about Ponyville; but I really need to take a bit for myself." Twilight said. "There's a few books I want to read that I haven't checked out yet." She added.

"Mind if I join you, princess? I too enjoy a good book from time to time." Flash said.

"Wow...how could we have NOT met before the Equestria Games?" Twilight asked. "The answer is an absolute yes!" She exclaimed, all giddy to meet a fellow book nerd and dragged him to the library.

"...Great...we're not even two steps back into the castle and already he's made a good impression on Twilight." Spike said.

"...I wonder if me and Sunburst could be like that one day?" Starlight asked herself.

"Oh great...the love bug is spreading..." Spike Said. "Maybe if I'm lucky, Rarity will catch it and realize just how much she means to me." He said and left to go find said unicorn.

"...What the heck is that about?" Starlight asked before bringing up a bit of magic. "Note to self: Ask Twilight about Spike and Rarity." She said to herself before going off.

"Spike and Rarity? What about them?" Twilight asked Starlight.

"Well Spike said something about a love bug spreading and said if he's lucky rarity will catch it. Or something to that effect." Starlight said. Twilight faced hooved.

"Seriously? He's STILL on her? I hope he realizes she's too old for him before he gets his heart broken." Twilight said.

"I thought Dragons aged differently from Ponies?" Flash Sentry asked.

"She's still older then him. Old enough be to his older sister." Twilight said.

"I guess that makes sense." Flash Sentry said. Suddenly a very moping Spike came in, heading straight for his room.

"...I'm going to go on a wild guess here and say that he got rejected. Hard." Starlight said.

"I don't know if I can fix this..." Twilight said.

"Let me handle it Princess. He is practically your little brother." Flash Sentry said.

"Wait...you see him as my little brother?" Twilight Sparkle said.

"...Do people think your more like his mother then his big sister?" Flash Sentry said.

"Yes actually; outside of Shining Armor, your the only other person who sees him as more like our adoptive little brother then my adoptive son." Twilight said.

"It wasn't you that laid his egg, therefor by proxy it should only make sense that he should be viewed more as your adoptive little brother then your adoptive son." Flash Sentry said.

"Wow...again, how could we have not met before the Equestria Games? You go see what you can do." Twilight said as Flash ran off. Wow...he actually gets it...he actually gets it! I don't believe it. I haven't thought about persuing a relationship before, but twice now I've found common ground with Flash. And isn't that how relationships start? With common ground? If it works with making friends, surely the same applies to romance too... Twilight thought to herself.

And with this, the first season has been properly established. Already hints of romance have stung Twilight in the heart, so there's only one way the relationship can go from here.
