On a hill overlooking Ponyville, a male anthropomorphic black fox simply looked at the sunrise, a look of sheer determination on his face before suddenly the faintest of smiles graced his face.

“It’s time.” Is all he said.

“The high court is asking for someone to come and test us to give our team the green light?” Spitfire asked.

“I just thought I’d tell you this personally. I have no idea whose coming nor when.” Twilight said. “And you do need the green light from the high court.” She added.

“We’ll ace this test Twilight, make no mistake.” Rainbow Dash said.

“Yeah. We’re gonna make them know that this is real and it’s happening.” Lightning Dust said.

“I have no doubts about you all passing at least.” Twilight said.

“Still, we best get some training in.” Spitfire said.

“Hey someone’s coming.” Soarin said. The male anthropomorphic black fox suddenly strolled up to the group.

“I’ve never seen a creature like this before...” Twilight said.

“It’s probably one of Insightful Wrath’s assassins.” Rainbow Dash said before speeding off and pulling off a Sonic Rainboom but she somehow missed due to the fox moving out of the way at what seemed to be the last second. “What the...how are you so fast?!” Rainbow Dash exclaimed.

“Easy enough to explain: I can control the very fabric of time itself.” The fox said.

“He talks?!” Twilight exclaimed, awestruck.

“The time for researching is not now. I have a job to do here.” The fox said.

“The high council sent a fox and not a Pegasus at least?” Twilight asked.

“I know one of the council members. They are someone I helped out after all.” The fox said. “However rest assured that my personal relationship with said council member will have no effect on my judgement regarding my test.” He added.

“Sorry for rushing you...I thought you were one of Insightful Wraith’s assassins sent to kill Scootaloo.” Rainbow Dash said.

“I don’t blame you. Besides I prefer only to kill someone if there is no other choice. I tend to prefer other options.” The fox said. "After all, killing someone is something you can't take back. I've found that if shown the right kind of mercy, even a leopard can change it's spots overnight. It all depends on the individual and their motivations." The Fox added.

"And how many people have you shown mercy to and have changed their life for the better huh?" Rainbow Dash's speech was both aggressive yet curious because she really wanted to know.

"A lot more then you, I assure you. But for the sake of comparison, I have shown at least Nine Hundred. Honestly, I've showed so many the right kind of mercy that I've lost count at this point." The Fox said.

"NINE HUNDRED?!" Rainbow Dash's jaw dropped to the floor at that number. Because there are high numbers, and then there are REALLY high numbers. And that one is REALLY high. Even Spitfire couldn't help but whistle at that number. That's so many... Rainbow Dash thought to herself. Who really is this guy? Whoever he is he's no ordinary being. Pony or not, the fact remains he's someone who changes lives. She added to her thoughts.

"So what kind of test are you going to make us do?" Soarin said.

"Here's the funny thing: I've actually been watching you all in secret and from very far away. I've seen your progress for my own two eyes. Yet there is only one who really needs to be tested." The Fox said before pointing right at Lightning Dust. "And that would be you." The Fox added.

"Me?!" Lightning Dust exclaimed.

"Yes you. It's time for you to be tested. The only way you'll continue to be a Sonicbolt is to pass my test. So, I hope your ready to fight your demons, and I mean all of your demons. Because the only way your going to pass my test without a scratch is if you vanquish all of your demons here and now." The fox said.

"A fight? Your going to make me fight?" Lightning asked.

"Not quite." The Fox said suddenly he shoved his paw forward and a huge wind came blowing out of nowhere and boy was it strong.

"WH-WHAT IS THIS?!" Lightning Dust yelled out.

"This is another power of mine. Not only can I control the very fabric of time itself, but so too can I channel nature's magic and command it to my will. Right now, I am using my powers to create these strong winds. And if you think this is something, just wait until I kick things up to eleven!" The Fox yelled back.

"YOUR INSANE!" Lightning Dust yelled.

"Better cut the chatter and start facing your demons, otherwise you won't be getting out of this unharmed." The fox said. Lightning Dust snapped her mouth shut and started doing her best to push herself to fight the strong winds. She was having quite a lot of success before suddenly the wind speeds began to pick up more.

"Is this really all you've got? Surely you can do better then this." The Fox said. Lightning Dust pushed herself harder, not willing to let up. Once more she began to gain ground on the strange fox only for the wind to pick up even more; it was almost hurricane levels of speed.

Gotta push through this...I won't give up... Lightning Dust thought to herself as she closed her eyes. Suddenly something was happening in her mind. Wait...what's happening to me? Lightning added to her thoughts as suddenly it felt like she was watching her life replay back to her before her mind's eye.
