Starlight invites Sunburst to Ponyville for the holiday season, intending to finally put the moves on him. Unfortunately, her friend Trixie appears to have unknowingly beaten her to the punch. Her worst fears are realized as the two continue to become closer behind the scenes while she's distracted by work until winter break. Confronted with the harsh truth that they are in love, Starlight is torn between the urge to sabotage their relationship and respecting their free will as a good friend. But as the fear of losing Sunburst again opens up old wounds, Starlight struggles to keep from relapsing into old patterns of violence, manipulation and self-destruction.

The gore and suicide/self harm tags are not checked because there technically is none in the story. However, Starlight staves off many intrusive thoughts and fantasies about hurting herself and others. She also becomes apathetic toward her own wellbeing. Just to be clear. She is written as having borderline personality disorder.

Out of the blue I was inspired to add an epilogue to this story several months later after writing like five or six other stories since. That's never happened to me before. Weird...
