A Pair Of Silly Strings

It had been two weeks since you ended up in Equestria, not only that, but in the household of two mares you were proud to call your friends: Lyra and Bon-Bon. During the two weeks, Lyra would help you feel comfortable in their home, making sure things were how you liked it (Including making sure you had clothing, which you just used some old clothes that didn’t fit them, and you did have a clean pair of underwear, which wasn’t turned to ash), which you respected her for. You spent time with Bon-Bon mostly during work, and she taught you how to make candies of all kind, even some of Earth’s candies, like Candy Corn, Cotton Candy, and several others. She always seemed amazed at how well you kept the kitchen clean, praising you for your hard work every week. To be fair, you felt happy being treated this way by both mares, one could say you developed a crush on both of them, though you didn’t say anything because Lyra and Bon-Bon were already married.

As of now, you were just chilling in your room. Bon-Bon told you that since you had worked at her shop for a full week, you deserved a day off. Normally, you’d play video games or listen to music to pass the time, but since Equestria was barren of technology, there wasn’t much hope there. So as of now, you just were lying on your bed, then you heard a knock at the door.

“Hey, you in there? I was wondering if you’d like to take a walk to Rarity’s Boutique. Me and Bonnie saw how you didn’t have too many clothes, you wanna get a new wardrobe?” Lyra asked as you got up and opened the door.

“Alright yeah, I think it’s the right time. Let’s go, Lyra” you said as she smiled and gave you a soft hug, then took your hand and led you out to Carousel Boutique.

You and Lyra got to Carousel Boutique. You were the first to knock on the door, hearing a rather angelic voice say, “Coming!”

Heh, Whoever’s married to Rarity must be really lucky, you thought to yourself as the door opened.

A white unicorn mare stood before you and Lyra, and she spoke, “Ah, Lyra, such a pleasure to see you, darling! Who’s your friend?” She looked at you and tilted her head a little, so you introduced yourself to her.

“A pleasure to meet you, darling, my name is Rarity. So, how can I help you today?” She asked you

“Well, my last set of clothes was burnt badly after a little accident back on my homeworld, which also resulted in my death” you said nonchalantly, which caused Rarity to gasp.

“Darling, that’s horrible! What happened to you back on your world?” she asked you, clearly curious and concerned.

“Bar fire. I was a bartender, one of the patrons spilt his drink, another dropped his cigar, and the whole place caught fire. I would have made it out alive, but I risked my life for a parton who was blacked out. I got a sip of whiskey before I passed on, and man, that felt pretty good” you said, smiling a little. Unexpectedly, you felt Rarity pat your shoulder softly.

“I’m so sorry to hear that, dear… but now’s not the time for sadness. Let’s get you inside and I’ll measure you for your clothing” she said, leading you and Lyra inside, “You can wait here, I just need to get my measuring tape. Be right back, darlings!” she said, racing off somewhere.

“So I take it she’s a fashionista?” you guessed

“Yep! One of the best in all Equestria, too! She’s got the boutique set up here in Ponyville, and has another shop set up in Canterlot” Lyra said, “Mostly all citizens get their clothes from Carousel Boutique, especially if it’s for a gala, or for a wedding, and Equestria has had many weddings over these last few years!” she concluded with a sigh, “I actually came here for my wedding dress when I got married to Bonnie”

“Must’ve been a beautiful day for you, Lyra” you said, hearing footsteps

“She wasn’t the only one who got her dress from us, Bon-Bon got her dress from here as well. Both Lyra and Bon-Bon looked amazing in their dresses, and were very satisfied with them” the man said, walking in and taking a seat, “Pardon me interrupting you two, but Lyra, who’s the new human in town?” he said, looking at you as you introduced yourself.

“Nice to meet you, I’m Silver, and if it wasn’t obvious, I’m Rarity’s husband. So, you liking Equestria so far?” he asked

“It’s alright. Lyra’s been making me feel at home, and Bon-Bon’s been making me feel like a good worker, so yeah, I’m liking it” you said, smiling a little

“Well, that’s good. So, any plans for the future?” Silver asked you.

“None at the moment, but I’m not exactly in a hurry to come up with something. Kinda just taking things slow” you said as Rarity came back in.

“Okay darling, let me take your measurements” she said as you stood up and allowed her to measure you. Once she was done, she smiled a little, “Alright, so what ideas did you have for your wardrobe, darling?”

“Eh, mostly shorts and t-shirts, some black, blue, and red” you said as she wrote it all down.

“Sounds great, Darling, and don’t worry, any new friend of mine gets their first set free!” Rarity said, smiling a little more.

“Gee, that’s very generous of you, Rarity” you said

“Well, that’s why I’m the element of Generosity, Darling. Now, as for your clothes, I should have them ready in a few hours” she said, “So go ahead and take some time to yourself, dearies”

“You got it, Rarity, it was a pleasure meeting you” you said, taking your leave with Lyra.

“Bye darling! It was a pleasure meeting you as well!” she waved as you and Lyra left.

“So, what should we do now?” Lyra asked you

“Well, I was actually gonna go check on Bon-Bon and see how she’s doing, what about you?” you asked her

“I gotta clean the house a bit, especially my bedroom, so I’ll see you later?” she asked, nervously scratching behind her head

“Yeah, sounds good” you said, walking off towards Bon-Bon’s candy shop

When you got to the shop, you found the door missing, which was odd. The shop was a mess, and so was the kitchen. You really hoped nothing bad happened to Bon-Bon, but a letter left behind had said it all. You picked it up and read it…

Lyra,

I’m in deep trouble. The bugbear seems to have escaped Tartarus again. It’s more than likely taken me into the Everfree Forest. Please, for your own safety, don’t try to save me, as it’d kill me if you were hurt, or even worse, if you were killed by the Bugbear. If you don’t see me again, just know that I love you and hope to see you again one day.

This was bad. Bon-Bon taken by some bug…bear…? Regardless, it worried you, so being brave enough to save a bar patron from burning, you decided to find her. The everfree was dangerous, that much you knew, but so was any forest back on Earth. Wasting no time, you grabbed a steak knife and ran off towards the Everfree.

“Bon-Bon? You there? Bon-Bon?” you kept calling her name, searching through the forest. Eventually, you heard growling. You ran towards it, and you found the supposed Bugbear hovering over Bon-Bon, and Bon-Bon was cowering. You shouted in her direction, “Bon-Bon?! Are you hurt?!”

She groaned a little, and her right leg was swollen, probably having been stung by the Bugbear. She looked at you, “Y-You?! Get out of here! I don’t want you getting h-hurt!”

Surely enough, the Bugbear looked at you and growled, startling you, but you kept your cool as you took out the steak knife and spoke, “Look, I don’t know what kind of fucked up creature you are, you’re gonna leave her alone, are we clear?” of course, the Bugbear didn’t listen and just growled loudly at you, hovering close as it swiped at you and you backed up, avoiding it, “So it’s the hard way then? Fair enough” You said, quickly maneuvering behind the Bugbear and jumping on its back and digging the knife into its neck. It started crying out in pain and whining, so you paused and asked, “What, are you done? I’ll dig it deeper if you’re not” that clearly sparked some fear in it as it nodded its head rapidly, “Alright then, good choice” you got off it as it held the spot on its neck. With that done, you pocketed the steak knife and picked up Bon-Bon, heading away from the Bugbear while saying, “I better not catch you messing with her again, okay?” you looked back and it nodded rapidly. With that done, you left the forest with Bon-Bon in your arms.

“Y-You saved me… t-thank you…” she said, clearly weak from the stinger stinging her.

“Bon-Bon, you owe me an explanation, and no bullshit, okay?” you said, getting a gentle nod from her.

“Okay, I understand” she said as you took her to Ponyville hospital

“So let me get this straight, you used to be a part of an elite monster fighting agency?” you asked. All this was clearly news to you, and even though you had been in Equestria for only two weeks, you wondered why she didn’t tell you sooner. When you checked into Ponyville hospital, Bon-Bon was immediately helped and cared for, as they managed to drain out the venom before it spread throughout her whole body/bloodstream, though it left her leg very weak, so she wouldn’t be able to walk for a while.

“Yeah… my name is actually Sweetie Drops, but after the agency disbanded, I moved to Ponyville and started my life over, creating a new name for myself: Bon-Bon. I met Lyra, and well, we made a connection over the years. Though I am a little curious…” she said, motioning her hand for you to come closer. You moved your chair closer to her hospital bed, as you were nearly face to face, “...Why’d you save me? You could’ve got yourself hurt, or worse, killed”

“Bon-Bon, you’re my friend, I wouldn’t want my friend dying, but why were you so concerned for my safety? I had it under control” you said, trying to calm her down.

“Because I didn’t want to lose you!” she blurted out, blushing red at what she just said. She hid her face behind her pillow, embarrassed.

“You didn’t want to lose me? Why?” you asked, but no response. You reached behind the pillow and gently stroked her mane, causing her to slowly show her face, “Sweetie Drops, why didn’t you want to lose me?”

She was silent for a few seconds, then sighed, “Because… you mean a lot to me. When you first came into my candy shop, I didn’t think much of you, but after cleaning up my kitchen and showing me your talent in baking, I felt I had someone that finally loved sweets as much as me, not just eating them, but making them as well”

“But doesn’t Lyra love making sweets?” you asked

“Not every day, which is why I only ask her to help when I need her magic to multitask, but when you showed up, it made life easier for me and Lyra. My candy shop is clean almost every day, the house is clean almost every day, and everything just feels perfect. You make my life perfect… Saccharo” she said, smiling a little

“Saccharo?” you asked confused as she giggled

“It’s latin for sugar. You’ve brought so much sugar to my life, sweetening it and making it taste like a vanilla milkshake. One could say… I have a crush on you” she said, caressing your cheek softly

“But aren’t you married to Lyra? How would she feel about it?” you asked. Sure, you thought Bon-Bon was cute, but you weren’t sure how Lyra would feel if she saw you kissing her wife.

“Funny you say that, but a week after you moved in with us, Lyra was bragging to me about how cute you were and how she started to like you. I didn’t really understand why she did, but now I do. You’re the best thing to happen to us, Saccharo” she said, smiling at you as she sat up a little, her lips moving closer to yours

“Wait, Bon-” you attempted to say, but before you knew it, her lips touched yours, and the two of you were kissing. Not wanting to stop her, you hugged her torso softly, and she responded by wrapping her arms around your neck softly. Her lips were warm and felt so nice, so you didn’t bother stopping her. Eventually, a door could be heard opening, and instead of a nurse coming in, it was Lyra with a bouquet of flowers

“Bonnie?! I heard about what happened, are you-?” She gasped as she saw the two of you kissing. You and Bon-Bon looked at her, and Lyra just dropped the bouquet and ran away.

“Wait, Lyra! Come back” Bon-Bon shouted, but it was no use

You sighed and went after Lyra, leaving Bon-Bon there alone.

You followed Lyra back to her home, running through the door and hearing sobbing come from her bedroom. You walked up to the door and knocked softly, “Lyra, may I come in?”

“No! Go away, you… you… wife stealer!” she shouted. It was clear she was upset with you, so this wasn’t gonna be easy.

“Lyra, if you’d just let me explain, I can tell you what happened” you said as things went silent in her bedroom. After a few minutes, the door opened, and you saw a rather upset Lyra.

“Come in…” she said. You nodded and walked in and the two of you sat down on her bed. It was quiet for a few minutes until she spoke again, “Well… go ahead…”

You sighed as you hesitantly put an arm around her. She looked at you for a second, then back down at her legs. You sighed, “Lyra, I know you saw me and Bon-Bon kissing, but here’s why. When I went to see her, she had left a note of some kind, saying she was taken by the Bugbear. I went into the everfree and saved her from the Bugbear, got her to the hospital, and she told me that she had a crush on me and kissed me. She also told me you had a crush on me, correct?” you said as her eyes widened and she blushed

“Y-Yeah, but… I-I just didn’t expect you and Bonnie… t-to kiss…” she said, clearly still upset after seeing that, “I expected the three of us… to form a herd together before kissing!” she blushed red when she said that.

“A herd? What’s that?” you asked. You weren’t quite familiar with herds yet, and who could blame you, you hadn’t seen any, nor heard of them.

“It’s essentially when two ponies come in agreement to add another mare or stallion to the herd. If it’s a stallion and a mare, then the mare agrees to marry the stallion or human they wish to form a herd with, or if it’s two mares, then they’d marry the stallion. Though, you’re a human, so it may be a little weird, but we’ll see what can be done about it. So, did Bonnie give you a nickname?” she asked

“Saccharo, it’s latin for sugar” you responded

“Well, Saccharo, would you like to form a herd with me and Bonnie?” instead of giving her a clear answer, you gripped the collar of her shirt and pulled her onto her bed, kissing her softly. Her eyes widened, but then she kissed back, wagging her tail excitedly. Something told you this was her first kiss from a human, so she was probably fangirling in her head over this whole thing. Eventually, the two of you parted lips and she just hugged you tightly. She then looked up at you with a smile, “So, do you want to?”

“Well, it sounds pretty early for that, but just know that you both have crushes on me, and I feel the same way for both of you. Now, what say you we get back to Bonnie, she’s probably getting lonely” you said as you stood up

“Right, she’s probably a little upset” Lyra said as you both walked back to the hospital

“Saccharo… Lyra… what have I done…?” Bon-Bon said as she processed what happened. She had been crying for the last few minutes, but regardless, she just felt so guilty for what had happened. Before she started crying again, you and Lyra came in, and she looked at you both, “Is everything alright…? Lyra, I’m sorry for what happened…”

Lyra walked up and hugged Bonnie tightly, sobbing into her shoulder softly. Bon-Bon hugged her back, stroking her mane as Lyra spoke, “Bonnie… I’m so sorry… I just felt jealous when I saw you and Saccharo kissing… I felt…”

“Lyra, it’s okay… and to be honest… I had a bit of a crush on Saccharo when he cleaned my kitchen…” Bon-Bon confessed, getting a little gasp out of Lyra

“And you never told me? Why?” Lyra asked, feeling a little hurt

“I was afraid you’d tell him… and I wanted to tell him at the right time” Bon-Bon responded

“Oh… I see… but why did you tell him I had a crush on him?” Lyra asked Bon-Bon again

“You sounded shy when you told me you had a crush on him, so you would’ve taken long… to tell him” Bon-Bon said to Lyra.

“Excuse me, girls?” you said, catching their attention, “You both mean a lot to me. Y’all took me in, gave me a place to stay, a job, and a new start, and I’m glad for that. I have crushes on you both, and would like to see it grow into something beautiful for all of us, okay?”

They were silent for a second, then Bon-Bon spoke up, “Saccharo… come here you…” she said as you nodded, coming over to the two mares. Lyra moved back as Bon-Bon pulled you into a hug softly, then Lyra hugged you. You were sandwiched between the two mares, then you hugged them both. From here on out, you knew you were home, and nothing would change your mind on that.
