Everypony knows Twilight Sparkle—Princess Celestia’s faithful student, beloved by her friends, a hero of Equestria. But what if her story had taken a darker path? A path where Twilight’s old life slips further from reach, her friends start to feel like strangers, and new, unsettling thoughts—of betrayal, control, and abandonment—begin to take root.

Maybe these feelings are justified. After all, her mentor did send her away without warning. Her friends do seem to be watching her a little too closely. And if nopony is willing to be honest with her, maybe it’s time for Twilight to take things into her own hooves.
