Chapters "Harper! Cover that exit! Don't let him escape!"
"You got it section!"
Raul Menendez was planning to escape while the hacked US drones were ravaging the whole city. David Mason made sure that wasn't going to happen.
"I see the bastard Mason! Down there!"
David looked at Harper and then looked down below to see none other then Menendez standing there with his pendant smiling up towards him.
"You son of a bitch!"
As he was about to pull the trigger, he felt very weird all of a sudden. Like....he was being tossed around in midair.
"What the hell is going on?!"
Before he could say anything else, a nuclear bomb went off in the distance. The shock wave from the blast knocked both Harper and David over, separating them both. As David fell down, he tried to open his chute..but to no avail.
"Why won't the chute deploy?! Come on you piece of shit!"
The next thing he knew, he was floating in mid air as he saw the shock wave coming towards him. He prayed and in a second, was knocked clean out. All he saw now was darkness....everywhere.
Right guys. I have plans for this story. Don't worry, it isn't going to be one of them typical shoot em ups. It might be Call of Duty related, but it is actually going to have a bit of depth into the story. Chapter 1 will be up asap!
Chapter 1 - Where the hell am I?
"Urghh....what happened?"
David's vision came back as he awoke from his unconscious state. He looked around, taking in his surroundings. All he saw was tree's, tree's and guess what...more tree's.
"Oh. Fucking perfect. I must have been somehow blown into a forest. But wait...I remember the nuke. How was I not killed by the blast and/or radiation?"
He scratched his head as he tried to figure out how he wasn't dead.
"Hmm..wait a minute..."
As he kept looking around, he remembered...where was Harper?
"Harper? Harper!!!"
He tried shouting at the top of his lungs, but there was no reply. Just silence. He then had an idea.
"Oh yeah. Comm's! Harper...come in. Harper, are you there? If you are, answer now. Harper?!"
Still no reply. He thought that the nuke must have distorted or interfered with his comm's. Or there was just no signal around here.
"There must be some signal. Satellites are in the damn air."
David then looked up and saw nothing. He thought of something suddenly.
"This doesn't look familiar...I must be somewhere what's not on the tacmap."
David had been all around the world, so he knew everywhere on Earth. But this place...he just couldn't memorise that he'd been here before.
"Strange place. What was that?"
He heard a sound behind him. He jumped up to his feet, spun around and got his weapon at the ready. At least his gear and weapons looked like they still worked.
"Show yourself!"
Nothing appeared. Instead, the sound was coming from behind him again, so he spun around yet again.
"I know you're there! Come out!"
He regretted saying that as a giant creature of some sort came out of the tree's. It looked like a lion mixed with some other animals. It was massive in size and height.
"Oh fuck...."
It swung for his head. Luckily, David dodged its attack and started shooting at it. It seemed to do damage, but it wouldn't stay down. It kept going for him over and over again.
"How many bullets can this thing take?!"
The monster swung again, this time actually hitting his side, making a bloodied cut on David's hip.
"Ow! Motherfucker!"
He had no chance but to run away. This thing clearly wasn't going to go down from standard fire. David started sprinting as fast as he could, with the creature in chase right behind him.
"Jesus, this thing can move fast!"
As he was trying to increase his speed, it tried to swing for his head. He luckily rolled out of the way and ran in the opposite direction, into the woods. He dived into a pile of bushes and activated his active camo.
"Oh thank Christ that my active camouflage is still working."
The monster wandered around, looking for David through the woods. After a while, it gave up and walked off, thinking he must have gone another way. As soon as it had disappeared, he got up and de-activated his camo.
"Hah. Fucking dumbass can't even smell me. Shows a true sign of intelligence."
As David continued to laugh at the monsters expense, he remembered that he had to find Harper or some find of civilization.
"Whatever that thing was..I hope I don't encounter any more of them. I need to find Harper or a town or something."
He kept on walking for about 2 hours, taking in the sights as he was going. He tried to use his tacpad to see where he was. It just came up as "unknown location".
"That's impossible. This thing is programmed to sense anywhere in the world and tell me where the fuck I am. Where the heck am I?"
He hit the tacpad in anger a few times. Didn't do anything as expected.
He continued to walk further on for another hour until he finally noticed something shifting in the woods next to him.
"Right. Come out, wherever you are! If it's you again big stuff, come and bring your shit with you this time!"
What he saw next stunned him to no end. A yellow pony...horse...thing... arose from the tree's. It appeared to be carrying a little basket in its mouth. It had 2 wings on each side of its body, it had a pink coloured mane or whatever it was and there was a load of animals like rabbits and squirrels directly behind it. It didn't seem to notice Mason even though he clearly shouted at it to come out when it was in the tree's. Noticing this, David activated his active camo once more and hid behind one of the tree's.
It appeared to be picking up some flowers on the ground with its mouth and putting them in the little basket. Whatever it was, it didn't look like any threat. But David couldn't trust anything around here so he wasn't taking any chances. Without another moment going by, he got his gun ready, and charger towards the small pony. When the pony noticed the giant now stood in front of her, she ran away back into the forest.
"Hey, come back here!"
He wasn't going to let this thing get away. It was the first thing what hadn't tried to kill him yet in this weird ass forest. David sprinted as fast as he could after the pony. It was damn fast, but he wasn't stopping anytime soon.
He eventually caught up to it and tackled it to the ground before it could take off in flight with its wings. While it was on the ground, David pointed his gun at its head and de-activated his camo.
"What the fuck are you?"
It started shivering, shaking and what appeared to be....crying?
"Please don't hurt me! Please!"
It spoke. It actually spoke. He couldn't believe his ears. But with all the weird shit what had happened today, he wasn't really bothered by it much. He wasn't moving his gun away from its head before he knew what it was and if it was any threat.
"I said...what the fuck are you? Answer or I will shoot you!"
It let out a loud yelp/scream and started crying again. David rolled his eyes and moved the gun away from its head.
"Right, if I promise not to hurt you, will you tell me what the heck you are?"
The creature nodded. David sighed and moved his weapon away. As soon as he did so, the creature stood up quite fast. It started to eye him up, looking all around his body. He guessed it was inspecting him to see what he was.
"I am a yellow Pegasus pony. My name..is um....Fluttershy.."
"Your name is what?"
"My name is..um...Fluttershy"
"Say it properly this time as I'm loosing my patience. Fast."
"I SAID MY NAME IS FLUTTERSHY!"
The sudden scream made him back off and ready his weapon at the weird creature again. It seemed to notice it had startled him and it suddenly blushed, sighed and went up to David.
"I'm so sorry about that...I didn't mean to startle you. Now, what exactly are you? Um...if you don't mind telling me that is."
David could tell from a mile away this thing was shy as hell. But it didn't matter to him. As long as he figured out what the fuck was going on right now, he would listen to this thing as long as it blabbered on for.
"I'm David Mason, in the Navy SEALS. I'm a human being or homo sapien if you like that science shit. Now tell me, where the hell on Earth am I?"
It suddenly looked confused and shot a glare at David what basically said "what you talking bout nigga?"
"Um...excuse me...did you say..Earth?"
"Yes. Obviously. Were else would we be...Mars?"
Now it looked even more confused. This was getting annoying.
"This...um..planet is called Equestria. I have no idea where this "Earth" is."
Now David was starting to loose his patience. He held up his weapon one more time at the creatures head and its response to this action was a little shriek.
"Stop pissing me around. This is planet Earth."
"No. This...really is Equestria. Now please...can you stop pointing that thing at me? That's if...um..you don't mind."
He figured that he wouldn't get anywhere if he kept holding his weapon at its face. It didn't even appear to know what his gun was. So he put his weapon down and gave it a mean glare.
"You're telling me this planet is called Equestria....its not inhabited by humans and it's not called Earth?"
"No. This planet is called Equestria. It is inhabited by ponies like me. Except from the 3 different rac..."
"I don't care about your life story. All I want to know is how the hell do I get back to Earth. That's if this isn't it and you're not just a massive troll like on the internet."
"The waternet?"
David face palmed. He wasn't going to get anywhere like this. He went up to it and calmly asked it if anyone knew how to get him back home. Its response went a bit like this.
"Um...I don't know....maybe Twilight would know...I can..um..take you to her...if you..um..want?"
David didn't have a freaking clue what it was going on about, but he thought it'd be his best shot at getting out of whatever this messed up place was.
"Ok. Take me to this "Twilight". And make it quick."
The creature nodded and started walking forwards. It pointed with its hoof to signal David to follow it. He sighed and murmured to himself.
"This is going to be a long fucking day..."
By the time Fluttershy and David had got to Twilight's library, they had encountered many ponies walking past and staring at David like he was an alien. Well, he was to them, but that's beside the point. He was also getting quite frustrated due to Fluttershy being so nervous. But, he was no monster. He wouldn't do anything just yet.
"Here we are!"
David opened his eyes after a long time of thinking to himself to find a sort of library mixed with a tree. He guessed this was where this "Twilight" lived. He looked over to Fluttershy who in turn looked scared of him.
"So, what can this Twilight do for me?"
"Well, she can maybe help you to find your way back to where you came from or offer advice on how you got here."
"Right."
It wasn't much, but it'd have to do for the time being. It was better then staying in that forest waiting to die. He'd take talking to coloured ponies over getting mauled to death anyday.
After a few seconds, David knocked on the door. As he did so, Fluttershy went behind him and hid like he guessed she would. He shook his head and heard footsteps coming towards the door. He guessed it was the pony or whatever it was what Flutteshy was talking about.
"It's fine Twi. I got it!"
He heard a voice from behind the door as it slowly creaked open. When it did, he noticed a small, weird type of lizard at the door. It backed off and ran back into the house, shouting "Twilight!". Before David could react to this, a lavender coloured pony came rushing to the door. It seemed to have some type of horn on it's head.
"Hey Twilight."
The lavender pony noticed Fluttershy was standing behind the giant creature which stood in front of her. Before anyone could do anything, it spoke in a quiet/scared/trembling voice.
"A friend of Fluttershy I...I...I presume???"
David just shrugged and held his weapon over his shoulders.
"Twilight is it?"
She nodded and started sweating. He picked up on the fact that she was scared of him. Wasn't really hard to tell with the state she was in at the moment.
"Are you alright?"
"Ermm..yes! Sorry. I've never seen anything like you before. Would you li....like to come in?"
David gave a polite yes and strolled in with Fluttershy and Twilight following. The lizard creature was still shaking and back up against the wall. He walked up to it.
"I'm not going to hurt you, so you can walk away from the wall."
The lizard nodded suddenly and walked towards David, extended his claw out.
"Hi there...I.....I'm Spike. And I'm a dragon. What ar..are you?"
"I'm a human being or homo-sapien in technical terms. A dragon huh? They are just fantasy in my world."
Spike just sat down and continued to listen to David. Before he could say any more, Twilight walked in front of him and Spike.
"Spike, why don't you go get our dinner prepared while I ask my "guest" a few questions?"
"Fine."
And with that, the little dragon walked off into the kitchen, leaving Fluttershy and Twilight with David. He put his weapon down on the stairs and went over to Twilight.
"Fluttershy or whatever her name is says you can help me with some things."
"Oh did she now?"
Twilight looked over to Fluttershy who was now blushing and still hiding away behind David.
"What did she specifically say I can help you with?"
"Help me get back to my home planet, tell me how the fuck I got here, etc."
She rubbed her chin with her hoof.
"I'd have to do quite a lot of research on you first and ask you a LOT of questions before I could even understand where your planet is."
He wasn't too happy to hear this. But, as he said earlier, it'd have to do.
"Right. Fair enough. Well, later on, you can ask away. But right now, I'm tired as hell."
She went over to the stairs and picked up his weapon with her magic.
"Woah. You can levitate things?"
"All unicorns and alicorns can. Now tell me, what is this thing?"
He stood back up and took the weapon from Twilight's grasp.
"It's called a gun. It fires something called a bullet which is a piece of lead which travels at really high speeds causing it to go through a lot of things. Including skin, bone, muscle, some types of materials, etc. Us humans have used them for 100's of years for defense or for waging war. Either way, it only takes one bullet to the head or to a major artery to kill a human right there and then."
He opened his eyes from his long speech and noticed that Twilight and Fluttershy were both traumatized. Their mouths were literally open in shock, they were shaking and nearly crying. Twilight was the first one to speak out of the 2.
"That sounds terrible. What kind of creatures would do that to each other?"
"Humans do it all the time. Including me. Hence why I have one with me. So be careful with it and whatever you do, don't pull the trigger as that releases the bullet(s)."
Twilight recovered from her shaking and looked at Fluttershy, who was still shaking more then an earthquake.
"Fluttershy, where did you find him?"
"He was in the Everfree forest all by him self."
"Hmm...strange."
Before anything else could be said, Spike shouted from the kitchen.
"Dinner is ready!"
"Right, we will continue this talk after dinner. Fluttershy, do you mind coming back later?"
"Ermm sure...no problem."
Fluttershy walked out of the library and closed the door behind her. While that was happening, Twilight had already walked up to David.
"Sorry. I didn't catch your name?"
"It's David. David Mason."
"Well, Mr Mason, do you care for some dinner?"
"Sure. Thank you."
He couldn't say no to a good dinner. Even if it would be different food then what he was used to. Only problem was he knew she'd go into 20 questions mode when he started eating. And he was never in a good mood if someone interrupted him while he was eating.
"Oh boy. This is going to be so fun..."
And with that, he facepalmed.
Chapter 3 - A meeting with royalty
The clock chimed it's usual noise while sunlight breached through the not completely shut curtains. David rubbed his eyes and pinpointed what had woke him up. Before it could make any more noise, it fell to the floor with a "CLANG!
"Always hated damn alarm clocks." He grumbled and stood up to notice his armor and weapon had dissapered. The only thing he could remember from last night was having tea with Twilight and Spike, answering her barrage of questions and then putting the gun down and taking off his armor next to his bed.
"Wait....." He quickly rushed downstairs and noticed Twilight reading a book. She spun around as soon as he slammed the door behind him. She sighed and relaxed when she saw David however.
"Oh, David. It's you. You startled me."
He smirked at put his hands up. "Who else could it be? The fucking tooth fairy?"
Twilight didn't understand what he meant by "tooth fairy", but she picked up that he was trying to be sarcastic. Which didn't impress her in the slightest. She stood up from reading her book and walked over to him, glaring at him all the time she took to walk towards him. "Haha. Very funny. Say, what are you doing up this early? I thought the shock of you arriving in a universe with talking ponies would make you tired? She also grinned and he noticed this straight away.
"Stop trying to be funny. It only works when humans do it, funny one's at that. Anyway, I meant to ask, where is my gun and my armor?" Twilight looked at him with a confused expression.
"Armor?"
He facepalmed. "The stuff that I was wearing?"
She suddenly smiled like a little idea bulb had lit up inside her head. Original right? "Oh! I put it over there in the kitchen." David quickly walked into the kitchen and sighed a breath of relief when he saw his armor and weapon neatly placed in the corner.
"Thanks Twilight. I thought I'd lost them. Anyway, what's our plan of action today?"
She put her hoof to her chin as though she was trying to think of an answer. "Well, I did want to learn more about you.."
David sighed. "Here we fucking go.." He mentally slapped himself to try and numb Twilight's voice out so he didn't have to have MORE questions thrown at him.
"But..Princess Celestia wrote to me when you went to bed and requested that she meet you as soon as possible, so I think the questions will have to wait till tomorrow. Also, I forgot to ask, how did you sleep?"
He literally smiled at the fact that he didn't have to listen to Twilight drone on with her questions. After a few moments of him awkwardly staring at the ceiling and smiling, he snapped out of his trance and looked back at Twilight, who now had a concerned look on her face. "Oh, sorry Twilight. Spaced out there for a second. Who's this Princess...Cmestia was it?"
She slapped her hoof to her face, which David recognised as a facepalm, with hooves instead of hands. "Princess Celestia. And she's the ruler of all of Equestria. She rules over us to make sure we are safe and she also raises the sun. She's a goddess." The next thing she knew, David was on the floor crying with laughter.
"A FUCKING GODDESS? OH MY GOD!!! YOU'RE FUNNY TWILIGHT!!!"
She glared at him as she threw him onto his feet using her magic. "I'm NOT joking. If you don't believe me, ask her yourself. You'll be able to in 3....2....1."
The next thing David knew, there was a knock on the door. When Twilight trotted over and opened it, there was 2 ponies who looked like some type of guards or soldiers. Before he could walk over to them, the one on the left started speaking.
"Twilight Sparkle, the Princess told us that you requested her to meet this..." The guard pony looked over to David and snorted. "Creature." Twilight nodded.
"Yes sir's, and I believe his species is called Human."
They shrugged. "Well, whatever. Could you please bring the creature over here and get it into the..." The guard gulped as David (who was considerably taller then all of the ponies, including them) came over to them.
"I can walk myself buddy." The guard just glared at him and motioned him to get into what looked like a chariot of some sort. He complied and sat in. When they set off, he looked at the guard across from him.
"So, how does this Princess Celestia know I'm here in the first place?" The pony looked over towards him and put his spear to the side of him.
"Twilight Sparkle sent the Princess a letter, informing her that a creature...you...had appeared in Equestria. She wanted to meet with you even before Twilight requested her to do so."
David didn't answer. He just thought and looked at of the chariot. "Twilight sent her a letter? I suspected she'd tell someone about me."
David was confused. Why would this pony want to see him so badly? Then again, he was an alien to them. Hell, he could have blasted all of the ponies to microscopic pieces if he wanted to. So he could sort of understand why she wanted to see him.
The ride was uneventful. After about 10 minutes of him staring out of the chariot into the wilderness, he finally arrived at his destination. The guards told him it was Canterlot, which in response he just laughed and murmured to him self. "Sounds like Camelot." After the guards escorted him to the palace, he quickly went inside and walked down a rather long hallway. One of the guards was still walking next to him. He suddenly came to a huge door and stopped at it.
"Guessing this is where the Princess is at right?" The guard pony just nodded as his horn started to glow. As it did, the doors opened.
"More magic I guess." David thought as he walked inside to find a massive room with a throne right at the other side. On the throne was the biggest pony he'd seen yet. It was white in colour and had a multicoloured mane what seemed to move by its self. After a few seconds of him staring at the pony, it noticed him and smiled warmly at him.
"Ah. So you are the creature Twilight told me about. Please, do come in." And so he complied and walked towards her. She got off of her throne and went so close to him that he was about to ask "what the fuck are you doing?". As he was going to, she started to talk again.
"You look...quite unusual and fascinating. Tell me, how did you get here?"
David just shrugged. "I have no idea. I don't really remember what happened before I woke up in a weird ass forest." Celestia didn't like his language but she decided to let it slip.
"You mean the Everfree forest?"
He nodded. "Yeah, I think that's what it's called." He noticed that the pony had put a hoof to her chin as Twilight did earlier.
"Hmm. How very strange. Oh my, where are my manners. My name is Princess Celestia. And yours?"
"David."
"What a strange name. Anyway, I am afraid I can't help you with understanding why you woke up in the Everfree forest as I don't know my self, which is very rare. But, I can answer any questions you may have regarding as to what I am, what I do or what my ponies do."
David was a bit annoyed at how she couldn't help him with that issue, but he decided to forget it as he didn't want to cause a shit storm with a supposed goddess. "Oh yeah, that reminded me, Twilight said you could raise the sun and you're a goddess or some shit?"
She let out an annoyed sigh. "Please don't use language like that near me. And yes, I can and I am."
He didn't believe her, but he really couldn't give a damn. He had his weapon with him just in case she got a bit too bitchy with him. He noticed she was staring at said weapon.
"What is that object you're holding?"
He raised it so she could see better. "It's called a gun and it fires out a metal bullet made out of lead which travels that fast that it breaks bone, muscle, tissue, etc." He felt stupid that he had to keep explaining what a gun is, but he guessed he'd have to get used to it if he couldn't get back home. "No, don't think like that! I'll get home. I have to..."
Celestia gasped at walked towards him again. "Why would you use something that violent?"
"I was in the middle of a war."
"Oh...well, that still sounds excessively violent. I must insist that you leave it her with me so I can trust that you won't cause any harm to my subjects."
David shot her an angry glare and held his weapon tight, backing off as he did so. "No fucking way are you taking my gun. I'm sorry, but it stays with me." Celestia was fuming at this point. Nopony had ever talking to her in that way before.
"HOW DARE YOU SPEAK TO ME LIKE THAT!"
David didn't move, nor flinch, nor do anything. He just glared at Celestia as she did him until after what seemed like an eternity, she sighed again.
"Fine. You may keep it with you. But know this, if you EVER hurt my ponies with that thing or in any other way, I WILL punish you accordingly. I should punish you for talking to me in that manner, but, I am a fair princess. Do you understand?"
He was about to say fuck off, but he thought otherwise. He was stressed enough as it was. Instead, he just held his hand out and shook Celestia's hoof.
"You got a deal tuts."
