Lightning Dasher mutters as he stands up to stretch his tired legs. Lightning Dasher can only imagine what his first days in a new town would be like, especially when said town is so small. Manehatten was one of the largest cities in Equestria, while Ponyville was one of the smallest. Lightning's stomach ripped at his insides as he realized that the 10 hour train ride had left him starved. "What does a new pony have to do to get something to eat around here..." "What the?" "GET DOWN!" Red Blaze slams into Lightning and puts a hoof over his mouth. "You're new here, right?" Lightning Dasher nods his head. Red Blaze takes his hoof off Lightning's mouth. "Why did you slam into me?" Lightning demands as he stares dead into the eyes of Red Blaze. "Quiet down! She can hear a new pony from a mile away!" Red Blaze says as he puts his hoof over Lightning's mouth again. "Mfhf mfhf?" Lightning muffles. "What?" Red Blaze asks as he takes his hoof off of Lightning's mouth again. "Who can?" Lightning whispers. "Pinkie Pie... Now come on, follow me." Red says as he pulls Lightning up off the ground. "As long as you have some food..." Lightning says, still starving from the lack of food on his trip. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Do you live by yourself?" Lightning asks as he enters the apartment room. "Roommate moved out a while back." Red answers, in an oddly cheerful tone. "What happened?" Lightning inquires. "I don't know, he just got up and left one day" Red Answers. "That's cool." Rumbling emits from Lightnings stomach as he blushes in embaressment. "Help yourself to what's in the fridge, my friend." Red offers. "Well thank you!" Lightning grabs as much food as he can with his mouth and devours it in a few seconds. "Ahhh, that is how I got my name, my friend." Lightning boasts. "Well... Since you ate most of my food, I guess I have to go shopping... Perfect." Red says in a annoyed tone. "My bad, I can give you a few hundred bits to compensate." Lightning offers with a smile. "A few hundred!" says Red, shocked at how much money he was offering. "Yea, not enough? I can go up to a few thousand if so." Lightning says, puzzled. "H... How do you have so much money!?" asks Red, still shocked. "To understand, I will have to explain my whole life, you ready?" Lightning asks while taking a seat on the couch. "Okay, I guess..." Red says, preparing himself for a long while of listening. "It all started when my father was born on a small beet farm. He had dreams of something much bigger. My father wanted to give our family more than we needed, or to be rich. My father moved to Manehatten where he opened up a restaurant, The Bannered Mare, that became fairly popular. The Bannered Mare is extremely successful and has over one-hundred restaurants world-wide, and so, to make a long story short, I inherited my father's chain of restaurants." Lightning finishes with a gasp. "With all that money, where do you plan on living?" asks Red. "I don't know, I thought of buying a house next to the Library. I love books." Lightning states. "It would take a few months, though, to get all the paperwork ready and stuff." Lightning proclaims. "Hmmm... What a coincidence." Red says, looking off to some unknown person. "Who is that?" Lightning asks while staring at Red. "Oh... No one..." Red says as he smacks himself for breaking the fourth wall. "I was thinking that, if it's ok with you, I could stay here until I get the the house bought..." Lightning says nervously. "Sure! Just as long as you pay 99.9 percent of the rent!" says Red, overly excited. "I'm fine with that." Lightning states clearly pleased. "I think this is the start of the perfect friendship." Red says, thrilled to have made a new friend.

"Oh, sure, I need to get out and buy some food anyways, considering you ate most of what I did have..." Red says, displeased. "When are you going to get over it, I mean, I did pay you back, and I'm even paying most of the rent!" Lightning shouts. "Woah, calm down, I was just kidding, now come on, I'll show you to the library." Red says. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "So, what made you come to Ponyville, anyways?" Red asks. "I just got tired of big city li..." Lightning gets cut off by a tackle. "So, you're new here!" Asks the pink pony now lying on top of lightning. "Oh, come on! Not again!" Lightning shouts, it being his second time being tackled to the ground. "Sorry for my friend's rudeness, Pinkie... Yes, he is new here." Says Red. "Oh, I love meeting new ponies, and trying to figure out their names, and meeting all of their friends, and then making friends with their friends, and then..." Pinkie pie is interupted by Red's hoof "Lightning, this is Pinkie Pie, Pinkie Pie, this is Lightning Dasher..." Red says, knowing that this meeting would happen. "Nice to meet you, Pinkie Pie, now could you, ummm... Get off of me?" Lightning asks. "Sure!" Pinkie says while jumping off of Lightning. "So, where are you headed?" Pinkie asks, needing to know everything. "He's headed to the library, and I'm going shopping, because he ate most of my food..." Red says, bringing it back up. "The library! One of my bestest pony friends works there! I'll go put in a good word for you!" Pinkie says, bouncing her way towards the library. "Uh, thanks..." says Lightning, not sure if Pinkie could hear him. "That would have been ten times worse if we weren't friends." Red says. "Oh, well, thanks then." Lightning says. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Hello. My name is Lightning Dasher, is this the library?" Lightning asks. "No, I just brought you to the wrong place..." Red thinks to himself. "Hello, I'm Twilight Sparkle. Pinkie has told me alot about you." Twilight says. "How could she? We only just met..." Lightning asks. "Pinkie has alot to talk about anyone... Even the people she doesn't know yet." Twilight says. "Feel free to check out any book in the library." Twilight offers. "Thanks." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "So where are we headed now?" Lightning asks. "Since most of the stalls are closed, I guess we should go to Sweet Apple Acres." Red says. "What makes you think they're open?" Lightning asks. "I know the owner, and I also know the are open all hours of the day." Red says. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Hey, Applejack!" Red shouts to an orange mare. "Howdy pardner, whatd'a need?" asks Applejack. "I'm just here to buy some apples." Red says. "Sure thing. If ya don't mind mah askin, who's your friend?" Applejack says while pointing at Lightning. "I'm Lightning Dasher, and you must be beauti... Applejack! You must be Applejack..." Lightning says in a nervous tone. "Well, here ya go." Applejack says while handing Red a bag of apples. "That'll be 20 bits." "Here you go, and thanks for the apples!" Red says while handing Applejack the bits. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "You didn't tell me such a stunning mare lived here!" Lightning shouts at Red. "You never asked..." Red says. "Well... I..." "Checkmate, and now I'm off to bed, see ya tomarrow." Red says as he closes his bedroom door. "Hmmm... I have to go see that mare again." Lightning thinks to himself as he walks into his bedroom.

"Dude, what's wrong?" Red asked for the 6th time. "Oh, nothing..." Lightning says. "Then why didn't you answer me the first twenty times I asked!" Red shouts. "I'm telling you, it's nothing!" Lightning shouts back. "Well... Sorry for worrying." Red says. "It's just, I'm sorry I yelled, but I haven't been thinking straight lately." Lightning explains. "Would it have anything to do with Applejack?" Red asked, remembering when Lightning almost called Applejack beautiful. "What!? No way! Not at all!" Lightning says nervously. *Sigh* "I suppose it wouldn't hurt to tell you. I have a crush on her." Lightning looks away embarrassed. "Ha, I knew it!" Red proclaims. "Well, don't tell her! I'm going to ask her out later..." Lightning proclaims. "I'm going to sweet apple acres to 'get an apple', you want anything?" Lightning asks. "Hmmm... Nope, nothing I need at the moment. Good luck!" Red thinks to himself as he secretly follows Lightning. *knock* *knock* *knock* "Hello." A red stallion opens the door. "Hello there, sir, would you be able to tell me where Applejack is..." Lightning waits for a responce. "Eeyup. Applejack, visitor." The red stallion says. "Excuse me but, who are you?" Lightning asks. "My name's Big Macintosh." "Nice to meet you Big Macintosh!" Lightning says cheerfully. "I hear great things about you!" "Thanks, Mac! Howdy, pardner! Hay, you're that Lightning fellar ah met ah few days ago." Applejack says. "Y... Yes, I am! I was, maybe, wondering if you would... Go to Sugarcube Corner with me and... Get to know eachother?" Lightning asks nervously. "Sure thing pardner!" Applejack says while getting her things ready. "Great, I'm glad you accepted! This will be fun!" Lightning says, most of the nervousness leaving from his mind. "Well, well. Good for him!" Red thinks to himself as he flies off. "What was that?" Lightning asks, turning around to see what made the noise he heard. "Oh, come on sugarcube, it was prabably just tha wind." Applejack offers. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Wow, I don't think I've ever met a mare with such an appetite!" Lightning says, impressed by how much food Applejack ate. "Are ya kiddin me? Once, when ah was little, ah ate ah table full of apple fritters at mah family's reunion!" Applejack boasts. "Wow! I was lucky to eat a plate full of food when I was little!" Lightning states. "Hehe, well, ah guess ah just have a gift." Applejack jokes. "OHMYGOSH!!!" Pinkie Pie screams in shock. "ONE OF MY BESTEST BUDDIES ON A DATE WITH MY NEWEST BESTEST BUDDY!" Pinkie screams in joy. "Woah there Pinkie Pah, we're only getting to know eachother." Applejack says. "Ahhhh... I thought you two were going out... My bad..." Pinkie's hair deflates more with each word, along with Lightning's confidence. "Say, I'm pretty stuffed, and it is getting pretty late... How about I walk you home?" Lightning offers. "Sure thing pardner, later Pinkie!" Applejack says exiting the door with Lightning. "They are so going out..." Pinkie Pie thinks to herself. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Here we are, Sweet Apple Acres!" Lightning says, stating the obvious. "Thank ya kindly." Applejack says, about to close the door. "Wait!" Lightning nearly shouts. "What's tha matter?" Applejack asks. "I was just wandering if you would like to... Go steady?" Lightning asks even more nervous then before. "Applejaaaack! There you are ya silly mare, come on now, get inside!" A old mare says pulling Applejack inside. "But, granny, ah need ta..." Applejack is interupted by the closing of the front door. "Oh... Well, Red's probably wondering what happened, better go tell him." Lightning thinks to himself as he walks back to the apartment. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "So, how did it go? Nevermind, I already know what happened." Red states. "How would you... Wait a minute! You were that noise I heard!!!" Lightning shouts. "You heard me!? Well, I guess it's time for bed, haha..." Red says as he races to his room and locks the door. *Sigh* "Well, I guess it won't do any good to yell at him..." Lightning says while getting ready to sleep.

"What's up?" Lightning says as he peeks in. "The sun... And I hate it." Red says, still tired. ''Well, so do I, but you don't have to be so aggressive.'' Lightning states a little annoyed. "Yeah, I suppose you're right." Red says as he gets out of bed. "So, what's for breakfast? Assuming you didn't eat it all, like you did before." Red says in a mocking tone. "I don't know, any ideas?'' Lightning asks, ignoring the comment. "I don't know. How about you go to Sweet Apple Acres and get me some apples?" Red asks. "Hold on a second, I just wanted to say this is a Red episode, and not about Lightning." Red says to you. "Who are you talking to!?" Lightning asks. "Oh, nobody important..." Red says. "Okay, next time you do that, I'm taking you to the hospital..." Lightning says with a concerned look on his face. "That's fair. Now, back to what I was saying, Go get me some apples." Red says. ''Okay then, I'll be right back.'' Lightning leaves while slamming the door. "Now, what is there to do around here?" Red asks to himself. "Go meet other friends? No. Play guitar? No. Write fanfiction? No. What to do?" Red continues to talk to himself. "Hmmmm..." Red's thoughts are interrupted by a knock on the door. "Who in equestria would knock on my door?" "Mail!" A muffled sound flows through the cheap door. "Derpy, is that you?" Red asks, fearing the worst. "Yep!" Derpy yells clearly pleased. "Okay, just stay there, I'll come out, and you can hand me the mail, got it? Red asks, fearing that Derpy would find a way to destroy his apartment. "Why not just let me in?'' Derpy says, a little less pleased. "Uhhhh... You must be tired from getting to my apartment, don't want you to... Uhhhh... Overwork?" "If you let me in I can sit down!" Derpy almost yells. "Too late." Red says, quickly opening the door and yanking the mail away from Derpy. "Huh?" Derpy stands dumbfounded as the door shuts. "Who would send me mail?" Red says to himself as he opens the letter. "Wait a minute... This is for Lightning! I wonder what it's about... " Red asks himself. "New book... Blah blah blah... Ready for checkout... "All ponies argue, nothing you can do about it... Anyways, I'm here for Lightning's book." Red explains. "Oh, well, here it is." Twilight says, handing Red a Daring Do book. "Hey! That's the new Daring Do book!" Rainbow says trying to grab the book, only for Twilight to move it away with her magic. "No, Rainbow, this book is for Lightning Dasher." Twilight explains. "But you said that..." "I'll be taking that book now." Red states as he grabs the book and dashes out of the library. "Hey, get back here!"
