Equestrian Spartan

Crazy D gets on the radio and says, “Surprise inspection time.”  Unit 1 says, “What the… it’s barely been a few minutes. What makes you think I made any progress, yet?” Crazy D says, “It wouldn’t be a surprise inspection if you knew I was calling and I like to use the radio. So see you later, bye.” Unit 1 turns off the radio.

Unit 1 looks at a directory of the supply ship. Spike gets behind him and says, “I heard what you said about you preventing what happened to you, happening to somepony else. What was that?” Unit 1 says, “That is personal and it hurts to talk about it.”  He looks closer at the directory. “Ah, there it is.” Spike asks, “What is it?” Unit 1 answers, “I found the resting quarters.” Spike says, “You found… what?” Unit 1 says, “The bedrooms. Oh, before I forget.” He pulls out the Elements of Harmony and the princesses’ jewelry from his medal pocket and gives them to Spike. “You, Fluttershy, and Derpy return these to their proper owners. I have to take a nap because it’s been a long and confusing day and I’m going need some energy for the fight later.”  Spike asks, “What about my friends’ headaches, you got…” Unit 1 says, “Speaking about headaches you sound better from your brain freeze.” Spike grunts and says, “Thanks for reminding me.”  Unit 1 says, “I would recommend you stand on your head until your brain freeze is gone and give your buddies some medkits. The only thing that they need to do is to crush the medkit to get rid of their pain.” Unit 1 says, while going out the door, “If they are still mad about me killing them, it’s ok for them to beat me in my sleep.” He says under his breath, “I deserve it.”

Back with Spike, he says, “That was weird. I wonder what he was looking at.” He looks at the directory. “Hmm, it’s a map of the ship. This would be useful back at home in the library.”

Spike imagines a directory back at home to help put the books away after Twilight’s studying. Then he imagines Twilight constantly changing it or making him change it.

Spike shakes his head and says, “Nah!”

Derpy and Fluttershy come in the room. Derpy says, “Where’s the big metal guy?” Spike turns to Derpy and says, “Did it say his name was Ricky Unit something?” Fluttershy says, “I think he likes to be called Unit 1.”  Spike turns to Fluttershy with shock and says, “He? That thing is a scary killer. It isn’t a pony.” Fluttershy says, “He did save us.” Derpy says, “Yeah that metal guy saved us.” Spike says, “I don’t know what he really saved us for but, I know it’s going to be bad.” He turns to the directory. “I wonder where the first aid kits or those ‘medkits’ are.” He looks closer at the map, finds it, and says, “Here it is and there is a shortcut through the storage room. Follow me.”

Spike leads them to the cargo bay; a flying med pack comes out of nowhere and hits Spike on the head.

Fluttershy and Derpy rush to Spike. Fluttershy asks Spike, “Are you ok, Spike?” Spike gets up and says, “Actually, I feel great and somehow cleaner.” He looks around. “Where’s the thing that hit me?” Derpy says, “I saw it, but it disappeared when it landed on your head.”  Fluttershy says, “I saw that too.” She quickly flinches. “It might be a ghost.” They look around. Spike says, “Whatever it was, it’s gone. Let’s go.” They go off to the medical ward.

When they got in, they see medkits and other futuristic medical supplies on the walls and in boxes. Derpy grabs a box of medkits and says, “I think I found it.” She picks up the crate and walks out of the room. Spike says, “Wait up.” Spike runs out to catch up with her. Fluttershy looks at the scary futuristic supplies (Well, to her eyes) and quickly notices that her friends are gone. She says in fright, “Derpy… Spike… where are you?” She takes a second look at the medical equipment and runs out of the room.

Spike, Fluttershy, and Derpy go to the cargo bay to heal their friends with the box of medkits, but when they get there, they are surprised that their friends are already healed. Spike asks, “How did you get better so fast?” Pinkie Pie raises a hoof and says, “Ooh, ooh, pick me.” Spike turns to Pinkie and says, “Yes, Pinkie.” Pinkie says, “We felt better after I found a box of these weird first-aid kits.” She points to the crate that she got. Spike says, “I should have known that you would have gotten a box of medkits by now.” Pinkie asks, “Medkits?” Spike says, “That’s what the metal guy calls them.” Fluttershy says softly, “His name is Unit 1.”

Meanwhile, Unit 1 is in the resting quarters looking for something. He quickly stops, opens his wrist piece, and says, “Scan room for a BSH (Battle Simulator Helmet).”  His helmet scans the room as he turns around. The scanner shows up negative. Unit 1 takes off his helmet and armor (Don’t worry he wears a UNSC uniform under his armor) and says, “I hope he doesn’t come back when I was dreaming.” He gets comfortable and falls asleep.

Luna senses Unit 1 is asleep, she turns to Celestia and says, “Tia, I sense that the metal creature is asleep, I’m going to see what I can learn from him in his dreams.” Celestia says, “I’ll see you later, Luna.” Luna glows and then disappears. Twilight notices Luna is gone. Twilight panics, and asks Celestia, “Where’s Princess Luna?”  Celestia says, “Don’t worry, Twilight. Luna is visiting Ricky’s dream.” Twilight asks, “Whose Ricky?”

(Before we continue, I just want to get something clear. I did a little research on Luna’s dream traveling spell; there wasn’t much information so this is completely my guess on how it works. If they make a future episode that explains the spell, remember this was made before that episode. This explanation is suppose answer certain questions and to prevent people from complaining about the inaccuracy in future comments.)

When Luna enters Unit 1’s dream, she notices that she is in the middle of an UNSC farm. It has livestock of cows, pigs, and strange looking birds (Moa), an orchard  with short trees with apples, mangos, and pears and strange looking plants with even stranger fruit,  a barn and a house. She also notices a metal fence surrounding the farm with a big sign at the gate. She walks outside the gate; she notices something written on it. She reads the sign under her breath, “Dex farm, Proud to be part of the UNSC.”

She turns around and sees a bunch of Grunts and Jackals with both Elite and Brute leaders. A grunt points at Luna and says, “Hey guys, look.” Luna says, “What are thou, strange…” The grunt walks through her as if he was a ghost. Luna turns around and sees the grunt pick up a cowboy hat. The grunt says, as he is putting it on, “Look at this cool hat.”

An honor guard phantom comes into view. A brute says, “Line up you maggots, the Head Chieftain is coming.” The nearby troops assembled into 2 lines and they make a path to the farm as the Phantom lands. Luna hides behind some of the Grunts.

When the Phantom touches the ground, its doors open, and a bunch of high ranking Hunters, Brute Chieftains, and Elite Zealots come out surrounding a Brute Chieftain that is slightly bigger than the Hunters and wearing more threatening-looking armor. The big Brute Chieftain looks at one of the lower rank Brutes and asks, “Is the area secured?”  The Brute answers, “Yes, Head Chieftain the humans are trapped and ready to be killed.” The Head Chieftain says, “Excellent, time for killing.” One of the Zealots goes up to the Head Chieftain and says, “Killing UNSC soldiers are one thing but this is madness.” The Head Chieftain pulls out his custom-made Gravity Hammer and kills the Zealot. He yells, “Does anyone have anything else to say about my favorite game?!” One of the grunts says, “Can we join?” Another grunt says, “Yeah me, too!” The Head Chieftain says, “It feels like a Grunt day. Alright all of you Grunts come with me, the rest of you stay here.”

The Head Chieftain and the nearby Grunts charge at the farm house. Sniper Rifle and Magnum bullets start flying through the air. A few Grunts get killed while the others fire their Plasma Pistols and Needlers and the Head Chieftain fires his dual Spikers with extended clips.  Luna carefully follows them into the building. At the cost of a few more Grunts’ lives, the Head Chieftain kills a man and a woman brutally with his Gravity Hammer. Luna witnesses their deaths in horror.

As Luna is trying to calm herself down, she hears more plasma and bullet fire and then 2 explosions only a few seconds apart from each other, and screams of death. Luna walks further into the house. She sees a male teenager trying to run away from the Head Chieftain but his Gravity Hammer got to the guy before he got away towards the basement. Luna tries to help him, but her magic rays go through the Brute as if they were flashlights.

Luna realizes she is in a memory dream; she can’t do anything but watch the memory. The Head Chieftain orders a bunch of Grunts into the basement, Plasma fire and the sound of a single magnum firing soon follows.

A big explosion and Grunt screams are heard in the next room.  The Head Chieftain goes in the next room with Luna behind him. They see a big hole in the floor with a few dead Grunts and some body parts scattered all over the place.  The Head Chieftain smiles.

Some of the debris starts to move, and then a door pushes the debris out of the way, and a short farm boy comes out. He looks at the Head Chieftain with anger. The boy looks closer at the Chieftain, quickly gets confused, and says, “You’re not Rexar.” The Head Chieftain says, “Yes I am, I just got some upgrades.” The boy says, “I remember every detail that happened this day and you didn’t have that armor and those weapons earlier. You are a fake.” Rexar says, “I evolved and let me show you how far I evolved.”  His Gravity Hammer starts to glow and he slams it on the floor. The background starts to disappear until they are floating in the middle of space.

Rexar says, “When you kept having this nightmare again and again, I grew more powerful and…” The boy fires his magnum at Rexar but the bullets go though him. Rexar laughs at him and says, “You idiot, I studied you when you left your dream world for that simulator world and oh yeah, I took over this world when you were away. I’ve been able to make myself tough enough to ignore pain from any UNSC or Covenant weapon or vehicles and even the strength of your Spartan armor can’t hurt me. I’m going to make you suffer before I kill you; to make it the most painful death you’ve ever imagined.”

With a snap of Rexar’s fingers, the boy starts to grow up within seconds. Rexar snaps his finger and says, “Remember Sgt. Rally…” An image of a young female Asian with pink hair that looks similar to Fluttershy appears. “She tried to warn you not to sign up in the war, but you ignored her because of your rage and you wanted to do like Bruce Wayne did and become a hero, become a Batman. So you signed yourself to the Spartan program to stop aliens like me.” He snapped his fingers, the image of Sgt. Rally disappears and clips play of a bunch of preteens, teenagers and young adults dying in several different ways. “Do you remember how many of your so-called friends or what you call Gears died in that Devil Dog Academy during the extreme training?” The teenager says, “Stop it!”  Rexar continues, “When you try to do the right thing…” He snaps his fingers and replays the moment when General Dickson ordered Unit 1’s beating. “Your general ordered your beating.” The boy stops growing up and becomes a young man. Rexar snaps his fingers one more time and all the images disappear and he teleports to Dex farm with a similar scene like how he left Ponyville, expect all the ones he killed are wearing civilian clothes and the young man is in green and blue Chieftain Armor. Rexar says, “Face it, you’re the new me, Little Ricky.” Ricky falls on his knees and says, “I failed the longest goal of my life.” Rexar snaps his fingers, Ricky’s Chieftain Armor turns into Unit 1’s Spartan armor. He picks him up and says, “I’ll kill you as Unit 1 because you already left Ricky behind and I have the power to kill people in their dreams. Let’s see if it works.” He pulls out one of his Spikers.

Before Rexar pulls the trigger, Luna fires a beam at Rexar; the beam hits his hand, and Unit 1 falls to the ground. Rexar turns to Luna and says, “Who are you? Luna says in the Royal voice, “I am Princess Luna, ruler of the ni…” Rexar says, “You know what, I don’t care.” He starts firing both of his Spikers at Luna and Unit 1. They go for cover. Unit 1 asks, “Are you here to help me or just here to kill a nightmare that’s gone rouge?”  Luna says, “We believe, we are doing both.” Unit 1 asks, “We? Does that mean we have back up?” Luna says, “We refers to…”

Rexar breaks their cover and Luna and Unit 1 separate. Luna fights Rexar with magic beams and Spiker needles fly through the air and they dodge each other’s attacks in their epic dual. While Unit 1 is in a corner, thinking, he quickly gets an idea and concentrates on that idea.

The background turns into a room with a white floor and platforms attached to big metal arms coming out of nowhere to make the walls and the ceiling. Unit 1’s armor changes into an orange Aperture jumpsuit, with white knee and elbow pads, chest plating, and Aperture long fall boots. He is wearing a helmet with a light green visor that looks a lot like a Core.  He also makes a Portal Gun with his mind.

Luna was starting to lose. Rexar pulls out his Gravity Hammer. Before he could hit her, Luna turns into smoke, and Rexar’s hammer gets stuck on one of the wall platforms. The platform quickly replaces itself before Rexar could pull out his hammer. The smoke starts to take the form of Nightmare Moon and even Luna’s voice changes to Nightmare Moon’s. The voice says while changing, “I will defeat thou in my stronger form…” The cloud finishes its transformation. “Nightmare Moon!”

Rexar laughs and says, “So, you got bigger. I am still in charge here.” He snaps his fingers and nothing happens. Rexar snaps his fingers again and nothing happens. Rexar says with a worried look on his face, “What happened to my control snap.” Nightmare Moon says, “Fool, I disabled thou’s power over this world. Now, perish Rexar!” She fires a ball of energy at Rexar. He flies to the wall and lands on his back. Rexar pulls out his Spikers, he starts charging and firing his guns at Nightmare Moon.

Unit 1 comes out and fires an orange portal in front of Rexar and a blue one on top of the orange portal. Rexar falls in the portal and falls into the bottomless trap.  Unit 1 laughs and says, “I forgot how funny that was.” Nightmare Moon turns to Unit 1 and says, “Unit 1, thou looks…”  Unit 1 interupts, “I know that this isn’t the best looking armor, but it is the best protection and gives you easy access in Aperture… well for a work in progress anyways.”

One of the walls opens up to reveal a small room with an acid floor.  Nightmare Moon asks, “What’s that for?” Unit 1 says deviously, “You’ll see.”

Rexar catches himself on top of the orange portal. Before Nightmare Moon could attack, Unit 1 pulls his arm in front of her and says, “I got this.” He fires a blue portal above the acid pool. Rexar gets cut in half and falls in the acid pool screaming in pain. A loud voice in the background screams, “Portality!”

Nightmare Moon asks, “Where did that voice from?”  Unit 1 answers, “Don’t worry, that’s the announcer from the Mortal Kombat simulators, he usually just announces when the round starts or ends, who won and the fatalities.”  Nightmare Moon asks, “Fatalities?’ Unit 1 answers, “Basically, a fatality is a way to be killed, brutally”. Nightmare Moon says, “That's interesting.” She turns back into Luna.

Unit 1 takes a closer look at the acid pool and notices smoke rising from Rexar’s melted body. He asks Luna, “Uum… Do nightmare demons usually transform to dark purple smoke?” Luna answers, “No, why does thou…?” She sees the cloud and fires a powerful beam at it. The cloud screeches and gets destroyed.

Unit 1 asks, “So, is Rexar dead this time?” Luna says, “He is stopped for now. Rexar will return in thou’s nightmare if thou let him, but he won’t be able to think on his own and he will never control thou’s dreams, again.” Unit 1 says, “Well at least if he kills me, I’ll just wake up. I would like to thank the both of you.” Luna says, “Thou are welcome Unit 1, that is the name that thou prefers, correct?”  Unit 1 says, “Yes. Ooh… before you leave, don’t tell anyone what you saw in here.” Luna says, “May we ask, why?” Unit 1 says, “The less they know about me, the better and that’s all you need to know.” Luna says, “I will see thou, soon.” Luna disappears.

Unit 1 uses his mind to make a can of apple cider, and then he says, “Too bad, I don’t have this power in real life.” Unit 1 chugs down the cider.

When Unit 1 was done, he crushes the can and throws it away. He says, “Break time’s over.” He wakes up.

A few minutes later, Unit 1 regroups with the others. Unit 1 takes a deep breath and says, “I’ve been thinking, I didn’t let the killer of my family go scott free so, I’m ready.” Pinkie Pie asks, “Ready for what?” Unit 1 puts his hands behind his back, throws away his weapons and says, “For my execution.”
