Recently, after being run out of Ponyville the second time, Trixie has traveled far and wide trying to find magic that she can actually control. Stumbling upon an ancient unicorn library, she finds a dimensional travel spell. Fascinated, Trixie tries it out for herself. Meanwhile, on the other side of the dimension, Carson, a human, is peacefully sleeping away in his bed when he wakes up covered in books. And to his surprise, he stands up not as a human, but as a pony. Satisfied with the results, Trixie recruits him to help her with her magic shows. And, in return, she will help him find a way back home. Will he do it?
