Chapters Prologue
My name is Twilight….and I’m about to die.
I was born on a world long since destroyed….some say I played a hand in its destruction….other less charitable voices say I was the sole cause of its demise. I cared little at the time as I was blinded by my own self righteous fury.
But then a reckoning came upon me…. I found other who could travel between worlds, whose beliefs conflicted with mine. I was humbled by their power and tempered by their convictions, I resolved to learn from my opponents…. I would do better, be better, and fight the very kind of tyrant I had become.
And now, none of that matters to me anymore , I’ve given my all, but it wasn't enough…. all I can do now is reflect on my life and how I came into this unfortunate position….
It all started the day I met Kyra, I don’t know why I did what I did then, but I do not have any regrets.
It all started out as an average day, the sun was shining and there was not a cloud in the sky, today I felt like I needed to go out and enjoy the day. So I did just that, but as I was making my way to the park there was a huge commotion up by the hospital, my curiosity got the better of me and I approached.
“Hey, everyone what’s all the commotion about?” I had yelled as I tried to push a few ponies away.
“Oh, hi Twilight, didn’t you hear,” Fluttershy softly spoke, “There was a huge beast that attacked a pony near the Everfree and he was injured pretty badly, I heard that he was pretty lucky and won’t suffer any permanent wounds.”
“That’s good to here, but why is everyone crowding around here for if he’s fine?” I had asked Fluttershy, but to my surprise she wasn’t there anymore, “Huh, that’s strange, where could she have gone,” I wondered to myself.
Still curious I methodically made my way into the hospital and asked one of the nurses if she knew where the injured pony was, thankfully she did, but not so thankfully I wasn’t allowed to see him unless I was family. I don’t know why I wanted to see him that bad but I lied and said he was my cousin that was visiting me.
Without further incident I had made it to this total stranger’s room, and I slowly opened the door to see this pony sitting on the bed. He looked up at me and made eye contact, his eyes were one of the first things I noticed that was different about him, the colors were different in each iris and they were the eyes of a killer, but I didn’t know that at the time, I was naive and foolish, and now I too have the eyes of a killer. We kept eye contact, that is until I couldn't hold it any longer and was about to start talking.
Then he spoke, “So, why are you here?” his voice was so low I could barely hear him.
I walked into the room and sat down beside him, he had still not made any moves or signs of discomfort, I collected my thoughts and asked as calmly as I could “I just want to know a couple things, why were you near the Everfree and what attacked you?”
He looks up at me now and replies slowly and deliberately, “Why is it that you need to know why I was there and what attacked me, it seems you have no need to know this.”
I sat there with no response, a bit confused by what I had heard, then I decided to try a more diplomatic approach, “ Tell me what you know, I need to know what had attacked you so I can find a way to prevent this from happening again.”
He gave no indication that he had heard what I had said, as I was about to say more he responded, “Do not worry about another attack, I can promise you there will be no more….”
He looked as if he was going to say more but did not, I found this the opportune time to say my thoughts out loud, “How can you promise that, it’s not as though you know that for certain,” it may have been a bit rude of me to say that but, I didn't know any better at the time.
He looked at me like I was some arrogant asshole, but then again it was pretty justified, finally he spoke again, but this time it was with more conviction and I looked into his eyes and knew that was the truth. I wanted more answers, but I knew those could wait.
“Alright, I believe you, but I need to know a few other things that are pretty important, such as who are you and where are you from?” this is the point where I had reached the turning point of my life, the life that I know today.
He just sits there and thinks for a moment, slowly he gets up takes off all the bandages covering his wounds, grabs his cloak and says only one thing, “If you really want to know then follow me, but just remember there is no turning back from this.”
I stood up from the bed and silently started to follow him, my brain was working overtime wondering what he had meant by no turning back.
He then spoke up, “Are you certain you want to know, you do not have to find out and you might be able to save yourself and this world from eternal torment.”
I replied with as much conviction I could muster, “I’ve faced Nightmare Moon, Discord, Chrysalis, and Sombra, I’m sure I can handle a creature from the Everfree,” I would soon find out that this was either my greatest choice, or the folly to start the end of the world I knew it.
Chapter One
Walking, something I seem to have done a lot the past few years, well enough of my musing, back to it….
Following his lead we left the hospital with haste, and luckily we didn't bump into any of my friends along the way. Now that we were relatively far from the hospital I decided to ask where we were headed.
Suddenly he stops and looks at me with his usual blank stare, “To get the answers you want after all that is why you are following me, is it not?”
I was about to immediately respond but I actually thought about it, and realized why am I actually doing all this, I could care less about this, it doesn’t concern me at all. Why, that is the real question, all I could respond was, “I really don’t know why, but I’m already doing this, so why not.”
His face still not revealing emotions, he turned around and started to walk again, it had looked like we were headed to the Everfree Forest, but we had made a full circle around town. Still I was blindly trusting this total stranger with this, little did I know back then, we were being followed.
He stops and holds out a hoof, turns around and leans in close to my ear and whispers, “Do not panic and look back, but we are being followed, tell me where do you live for we shall stay there until I have rested up.”
I remember the tension I felt, it was intoxicating, the feel of my nerves on hypersensitive, my muscles tensing up, how had I never noticed this before, but before I get too distracted let’s continue.
Still unsure to to say, I quickly mumbled out an affirmative, and now I had taken the lead with him walking at a steady rate next to me. Surprisingly I didn’t notice that we had to get through the town market to get to the library, well shit, hopefully I don’t run into any of my friends here, it’ll be hard explaining to them why a total stranger was following me. I scurried myself through the marketplace, now at the other side of the market, my home, the library was now in sight, it was right there, but of course luck would have it I ran into the pony I really didn’t want to meet right now, Pinkie Pie.
“Hiya Twilight, what’s up, who’s that with you, where are you going, is he new, cause I haven't seen him before?” but before one response could come out of my mouth, she had zipped over to him and rapid firing questions at him.
He looked at her with a small frown on his mouth, but calmly spoke to her, “I am here with Ms. Sparkle to conduct some research, and it is awfully late so we must be on our way, adiu Ms.”
All I could do was nod my head up and down, and mumble in agreement, still a bit shocked at how fast he had gotten over Pinkie Pie and her behavior. Without dwelling too much on it, we walked with a purpose to the library, I opened the door and hurried inside turned on the lights, but to my surprise I saw the strangest thing to this day nothing has ever come close to the awe and inspiration I felt when I looked at this…. thing. It’s really hard to describe what it was in words, imagine an ocean, but in it were these spheres, they have a glassy look to them, and they moved slowly in an orbit, like a solar system there was a center point.
Slowly I walk deeper into the library, I turn around to see him look at me and say, “This is where I come from,” pointing to a little sphere near the edge of the “image”.
With a questioned expression on my face, “What is this, and where is that.”
He seemed bored as I asked those questions, but eventually answered me, “This is the Multiverse, each of those marbles is a plane, or what you know as a dimension. We are planeswalkers, we are one of the few, some say we are cursed others say we have a gift, but at the end we are the Multiverses’ most powerful, deadly and even its protectors or destroyers.”
Back then I was shocked, we were not alone in the universe/ Multiverse, but what shocked me even more was that I was one of them, what made me intrigued was how he knew that I was one of these “planeswalkers” but in his usual fashion, he speaks up, “How I knew you were a planeswalker is simple, you can see the multiverse, if you were not, then when I was pointing to my origin you would have seen me point to someplace called Canterlot.”
Well, since he answers my questions before I can ask them we were met with an awkward silence, since nothing else had to be said we just sat there and looked at the Multiverse floating around us.
He spoke up at this point now, “You know, we were never properly introduced, my name is Kyra Mykolos and I hail from Terra Firma.”
“Well, alright, my name Is Twilight Sparkle and I hail from Equs,” I promptly replied.
He then proceeded to talk some more, “You know my home plane, it was a beautiful place, not like this kind of place it was more, raw and natural. I used to have a home, friends but then they came….,enough of that, what I am trying to say is you have a choice, leave your home, friends, family, everything, or leave and see the wonders of many planes, entire universes unexplored, finding the knowledge that was lost in the annals of time. But in the end the choice is your Twilight Sparkle, do you want to find and discover worlds beyond your own, or be trapped here knowing that there are others like this world, and you will never see them. Chose when you want, tell me your answer in three days time, I will be near the south end of the town, for now, Adiu.”
Chapter Two
During those three days, I was just really out of it, like I didn’t know what to think about anymore. My entire world was nothing but an infinitesimal speck on the planar scale, looking back I can say without a doubt that my worldview was shattered that day, and I was just trying to process that. My “friends”, they didn’t know what I knew and tried to find out what was wrong, I just told them I was staying up too late and not getting enough sleep, but they knew I was lying. Still the three days passed without too much occurrence, and when the third day rolled around, I knew what I was going to do.
Walking outside, today felt like a day that the entire world would change, after all I am a bearer of harmony, what would happen if I just disappeared, my family, my friends, what about them? Deep inside I knew what I had to do, but I didn’t listen to that, I did what I wanted instead of what Equestria wanted. I was approaching the south side of town fairly quick and saw, there he was just leaning up against a house, as I approach he opens his eyes slowly and looks up at me, gets off the wall and walks towards me.
“So you decided to come along, or are you just here to capture me and send me off to Celestia?” he states with an almost bored expression on his face.
“As a matter of fact, I am here to take you up on your offer,” I curtly state back at him.
Without another word he turns around and starts walking towards the building he was leaning on earlier, approaching the door he just pushes it open and motions for me to follow in. What I didn’t know then was I was being followed, how foolish do I feel now trusting everyone just because. Well anyways, back to it….
Walking into the house, I didn’t know what I was expecting, it was dark and there was no light coming through the windows, the room I walked into was almost entirely empty, all that was there was an engraving on the floor. Turning my attention back to him, he was just waiting for something to happen. Something did happen of course, there was a great shattering noise and glass shards rained down beside me, I felt a wind and a blur speed past my vision. I turn to look at it to see Rainbow Dash lying on the floor knocked out cold from the impact.
I hear a loud sigh and he starts moving towards the broken window and waves his hoof and the glass is all gone the window repaired and we were plunged back into relative darkness. Well this is pretty awkward, one of my friends just smashed through a window in the building I had entered a few minutes ago.
“Well, now that all the distractions are taken care of we should start heading out,” he spoken in a quieter tone as if not to wake Rainbow Dash.
Still stunned from the random event, I nodded my head slowly trying to catch up to the events. I was worried about Rainbow Dash though, she was my friend and I’m just going to leave her and everyone else without a goodbye. I’m a bad friend, but I did it all to protect them or at least that’s what I tell myself to go to sleep at night. I started heading out the door when I saw the most peculiar thing, he was heading over to where Rainbow Dash was and picked her up and started to carry with him out the door. Sometimes I wish I knew that the hell he was doing, but then again that wouldn’t be as fun then.
The night sky was nice, although we were in the Everfree the sky was still the same one. Rainbow Dash woke up a bit ago and she looked and acted as if this was a normal daily occurrence, well I was confused and of course as usual he hadn’t explained where the hell we were going. Now this has gotten me in a bad mood, it’s always so frustrating when he doesn’t tell you anything.
It had gotten pretty dark now and I still didn’t know where we were going, why Rainbow Dash wasn’t freaking out, and why we just keep walking! It was pissing me the fuck off, sorry if I seem to be cursing a bit more, it calms the nerves, but anyway I was getting really tense. I started hearing things like a snap of a twig in the distance, some leaves rustling behind me, it was slowly driving me insane. Yet none of that seemed to affect the other two I was traveling with, for me it looked like they were having a nice stroll in the park!
After hours of silence, he suddenly halted and spoke up “Here we are, my home and base of operations,” he waved his hoof in front of himself.
I looked to the location his hoof gestured to, it was a wall. At that point I think I nearly strangled him on the spot, after hours of walking he brought me to a wall, a stupid fucking wall!
Right now I wasn’t thinking very clearly or much at all, but right now I was so pissed I just screamed in rage, “This is what you wanted to show me, a stupid wall in the middle of nowhere!”
At this point Rainbow Dash snickered and face hoofed, “Twi, I thought you were an egghead, come on it’s not that hard to figure out.”
That caught me off guard, Rainbow had finally spoken in hours and that was what it was, not a hello, are you alright, just hey you’re being dumb use your brain. I calmed down enough to formulate some cohesive thoughts, maybe it was an illusion, actually that made a lot of sense.
Now I face hoofed, “It’s an illusion isn’t it…., do I feel stupid, and sorry at yelling at you Rainbow Dash.”
For some reason, before I could ask any questions, he shoved us through the wall. I didn’t scream like a little filly when I was pushed through, ok maybe a little. Anyways, there was a bright flash and I slumped to the floor looking like an idiot all the while.
Chapter Four
When does a….When does a hero’s journey truly begin,…. journey truly begin.
.the moment you….the moment you step out of the safety of your home,…. of your home.
or, when you….or, when you realize the fight has just begun…. has just begun.
is it when….Is it when you comprehend how small you are….small you are.
compared to the….compared to the vastness of what threatens to destroy you…. to destroy you.
When did you….When did you learn that the journey isn't a lonely road….a lonely road.
that you didn’t….that you didn’t have to face the darkness alone…. the darkness alone.
Lesser souls lose….Lesser souls lose heart, and lay down their swords,….down their swords.
but a champion….but a champion risks everything, for the greater good….the greater good.

I wake up to loud noises coming from the next room, I think I also hear someone shouting. Groggily I stand up and start to walk to the room, what I saw wasn’t two ponies I was expecting to see instead I see two bipedal things with long lanky appendages hanging from the side of their body. Both of them were fully bound in clothes. Still a bit sleep, I thought the only logical thing I could, I must still be dreaming. So I did the only reasonable thing, I punch myself in the face, let me tell you hooves aren’t soft.
“Um, I think you broke her. She might have brain damage or is now in shock because of you,” the figure on the right whispered to the one on the left. This one looked like the female of whatever the species was. It, she had longer a longer mane and a higher pitched voice than most stallions.
“I did not break her as you put it, I merely stunned her from awe and wonder,” the male replied back. He had a much deeper voice like someone else I had met recently, but slowly I put two and two together.
Suddenly it clicked, it was that stupid planeswalker and Rainbow. How it took me so long is a mystery even to me, but me still entranced in thought stared open mouthed at them.
“No, I’m pretty sure you broke her.”
“She is still breathing still is she not, therefore she is not broken as you so eloquently put it.”
“Ugh, you know what I mean, just fix her already, I wanna get going.”
“Fine, you may think whatever you may, but the truth is she is stunned by awe and wonder.”
After their little quibble, I had collected myself enough to form some sort of thought, like what the hell was going on, but who cares cause I was grabbed by him and put into a force field, I think. Suddenly I started to get all sleepy again and bam, my head met the floor, again.
I moan and awaken again, I try to stand and fall flat on my face. What the hell is going on, normally I can stand on all four of my legs just fine even after a forced nap. Which does remind me, I needed answers and I know of two people who have them, if only I could find them. My train of thought was interrupted by a strange noise behind me, and see it’s what I presume to be Rainbow snoring quite loudly behind me.
Then I initiated my brilliant plan “Rainbow, help I can’t walk!” Quite the genius plan if I do say so myself.
That woke Sara up fast, “Huh, what’s going on, iszuta fire?” she stumbled up and looked around confused.
“What’s the big idea waking me up, huh I was having an awesome dream,” the woman said as she shot a dirty look to Twilight.
Twilight still quite confused tried to stand up again, this time it worked but it felt different from before. What was going on and what did that stupid planeswalker do the her.
“Umm, what are you doing?” Sara asked as she yawned out the last of her nap.
“Can’t you see I’m trying to walk here Rainbow, now he-.”
“That’s not my name, I changed it when I took this form, I thought new body, new name. It’s Sara Heartbringer now.”
Confused by the sudden outburst by Rain-, uhh Sara, Twilight was halted in her thoughts, but soon enough she gathered them. Slowly the surprises seem to be affecting her less and less. That thought worried her, was she being desensitized to new and exciting things this fast, I guess novelty wears off pretty fast.
Finally, I decided to look at herself to see if anything was wrong, I magicked out a mirror and realized I didn’t magic out a mirror. In fact I couldn’t use any magic at all, now was a good time to start panicking so I started running as fast as I can, towards the door screaming all the way, that must have been pretty funny to watch. It was then I realized that I was a lot higher from the floor than usual. Wait a second, I slowly lift my hand in front of me to see arms, I reach for my forehead and I don’t feel a horn. It hits me suddenly, all at once, I’m not a unicorn anymore. What did the idiot do, I never asked to be whatever he and Rai- Sara were.
Was this all my fault for not asking for answers sooner or was this the inevitable ending. I couldn’t do magic anymore I lost my special talent, wait a second, this is what Sara was talking about I’ve lost everything, no turning back now. This is the time now, slowly I stop running and turn around and walk back to Sara.
“My name is no longer Twilight Sparkle, it is now Amanda, Amanda Brighthearth, until my end that is what I will be known as from now on.”
Chapter Five
There are some moments you think back to and you don’t remember why or how you came to the conclusion. The answer to that, is you are being influenced. There are many theories about death, and I can say there is one true answer on Equestria, you die there and you will be “reincarnated,” that would be the simplest way of putting it. To clarify some more, when you die, your soul becomes energy, but still retains some of the information from its previous form. There is enough of the memories to cause for acts you would not know or normally do.

“So I guess you remember some of your old memories, or am I to assume that you got that name randomly and you are not the one I am looking for,” a voice from behind me spoke up.
“I...ugh...what?” I stuttered out as a response, all the while scanning my eyes throughout the room searching for my book.
He walks over and hands me something covered in cloth, we hold eye contact for a bit before he turns around and starts to walk to a door that wasn’t there a minutes ago. I unwrap it and there’s my book except, there’s a bookmark in it now. So I o the only logical thing, and that is turn the book to the bookmark and open it. That instant I feel a bright light flash over me as I am filled with ancient knowledge of other worlds, of memories that were mine, but at the same time not mine.
“Hey Amanda, you can stroll through memory lane later, right now we got to go before Celestia realizes planeswalkers are in Equs!” Sara shouts over to me from another room.
“Alright fine, but let me find my gear and rations. I do still need clothes and food you know,” I shout back as I quickly scramble around for the items I need.
Memories are strange things, I remember being found by Kyra the first time I planeswalked, but I also remember meeting him a week ago. I also remember being killed by Celestia, I also remember being her student. I have two sets of memories, one I know for a fact that I did and experience everything, the other seems real but I didn’t experience any of it.
I was so confused, what was true and what was false. Maybe this was a ploy to get me to listen to him, maybe he’s trying to control me through fake memories…
“Hey you alright,” I feel an arm wrap behind my back, and slowly carry me to the ground.
“I’m just so confused, I remember so many different things, I don’t know which ones are true and which ones are fake,” I respond, I hear some footsteps approach me and I feel something get put above me.
“Do not worry, they are both real I would love to explain this all to you right now kiddo, but we got to hurry and leave before another one of us dies...again,” he swiftly talks as he starts handing me all my old gear.
My favorite cloak, my mother gave this to me before she was killed by the Phyrexians...wait no, Mom’s still alive and well in Canterlot. Ugh, my head hurts from all this memory stuff. I was handed another item, this time it was a gun, it’s kinda difficult to describe…there are all the typical parts there except there’s no magazine, try to imagine an Ak-48 without the magazine. It works of mana of any kind, but the downside is that it requires tons of mana to support it, or it doesn’t really work all that well. The last thing handed to me was the book I had accessed a few times as Twilight, or my spellbook and emergency memory jar, makes me kinda glad I was a bit paranoid back then.
I got up and put on my cloak, strung the gun over my shoulder and attached the book to the belt I had on when I “transformed”. After all that I dusted myself off and said “Well, I’m ready to get out of this place.”
“Alright, that is fantastic, Sara hurry up we will miss the grand exit I have planned for tonight!” he excitedly, which was extremely surprising, since I’ve never heard him show emotion in his voice, ...or have I.
I clutch at my head, when I feel an arm wrap around me, “Hey, you sure you’re alright, we still have a few hours before we absolutely have to leave you know,” I don’t respond to him immediately, but I try to wave him off me.
“Yeah, I’m fine just haven't gotten used to all the memories I just got,” I am pretty sure they memories are real, I have read a few books on fake memories, they've always said fake ones can’t span over a year, and these are my entire life since I was “born”.
I start heading towards the exit, but decide to wait up for Sara and him. They are sometimes so hypocritical telling me to hurry up when they aren’t even ready yet. I get a thought, Sara isn’t in my memories other than when she was Rainbow Dash. You know what, that also reminds me I need some answers now.
“Sara, I need some questions answered now!” I shout to the other room as I start to make my way there.
“Whaddya need Ama, I’m kinda busy with some stuff?” she shouts back as a loud clang sounds from the other room.
“Careful with that, it’s an antique I “liberated” from some museum somewhere on Ravnica, maybe Innistrad, I can not seem to remember,” I hear him shout to Sara and I decide to hurry a bit more to the room, it’s a lot farther than I remember.
“Hey, how come I don’t remember you in any o….umm…. what are you two doing.”
“Don’t just stand there help us, come on this things not light you know,” I head over and grab a leg or maybe it’s an arm I don’t really know, but I can’t forget to ask the question.
“Sara, why is it that I don’t remember you in any of my memories other than as Rainbow Dash,” I grunt out as we carry the thing to the other side of the room.
“Well, it’s pretty simple I never was a planeswalker, I never even knew about planeswalkers until after the Changeling Invasion, you remember when I disappeared after the wedding for a bit, I met the idiot to my left and I let someone down…”
Chapter Six
It all happens so fast, you can barely register it happens. It was during my first escapade out in the Multiverse, I had just met the planeswalker and decided to go on a quick venture out to see some sights before I go back and meet up with the rest of the girls. As usual things like this never go on as planned….
The Changeling Invasion, that was quite the experience. The first in a long line of events that I have decided to call the “Enlightenment”, that was the first time I had truly felt completely useless and alone. I had accused Cadence of being a fake, but all I had received in return was denial and rejection. I knew I was right but of course never trust the savior of Equestria because that seems like a great idea.
I had my suspicions but I wasn’t a 100% sure, she did act strangely and did cause for questions. I was too caught up in the mood, a royal wedding and I can be part of it. It was going to be awesome, but when Twilight barged in and “attacked” Cadence, I should have known something was up.
If I needed to do this on my own then fine, I’ll expose her myself all alone, and when I do they’ll have to say I was right. I feel a hoof pat my head and see Cadence, and when I do I try to spout off some apologies, but all she does is smile as her magic lights up. Bright green fires surround me and I start to panic as I start to feel myself sinking into the ground.
I decide to give into my curiosity, and look around for strange and or mysterious ponies, to my good luck I see the planeswalker warp in and glance around, dust himself off and casually walk away. I sneakily follow him into the gardens when he turns around and before he sees me, I fly as fast as I can into him.
I groggily wake up in some caves, look around for another pony. Then the walls reflect the one pony I wanted to see, the asshole who put me in here. I know I shouldn’t hate anypony but I’ll make an exception to the rule. I charge up my magic and blast into the walls as hard as I can and it hits the wall….and bounces back towards me….
At the last second I duck in my head and wait for an impact that never comes, so I open my eyes and and there is the pony running away towards and orb, so logically the only thing I could do was chase him down. I follow him through the sphere and the bright flash of light, making me fall flat on my face.
I get up and make sure I didn't injure anything too important, when I see something I thought I wouldn’t see, or should I say someone. It was her, I charged at her and tackled, me now above her with my horn pointed at her face all the while screaming obscenities. She tries to explain herself, but I won’t fall for her tricks again, so I push her up against the wall about to plunge my horn into her throat when I feel magic pull me away.
I try to grab onto anything I could get my hooves on, but to no success as I still get carried away, I scream out for help but I receive no answers and slowly I get the feeling that this is the end, I guess she was right about there being something up. I can’t believe I left her just because I was gonna perform at the wedding, some friend I am.
I look back to who was pulling be back and see the Princess, she has a look of disappointment and sadness. But, slowly I realize that she could also be an imposter, so I blast her with my magic and she loses her grip. I charge at her with an intention to kill, I now knew I couldn’t trust anyone.
With a quick uppercut I’m now standing on top my captor, I finally know that I need to find that pony or something horrible will happen, I’d like to call it a gut feeling. I feel an object suddenly brush past my mane, I look behind me and see the pony with a bow and arrow in tow and scurrying away. I pick up the arrow in my mouth and speed right on after him.
Hitting my mark I look down and see just what I did, I killed Celestia. Slowly dipping into insanity, just like the blood off my face I turn to Cadence and smile. I break Celestia's horn off and float it over to Cadence, with a look that screams out your next.
Now face to face with the pony I have the arrow in my mouth, I stab it into the ground next to his face and scream out questions. He looks like he's panicking so I start to get even more frantic with questions until there’s a flash of light and Twilight’s under me now looking scared.
Surprised by this new change, all I do to the imposter is end its miserable life quickly. I don’t have time to fuck around so I grab the horn and keep running through the caves, looking for a way out. Finally I see a path out….
….as I turn the corner, I start to break down. I just killed her, she started panicking and I pushed her off the cliffside, I couldn’t save her, all I could do was watch my failure fall to her doom. Right now I can’t afford to stop any longer I still need to get out, and find that stupid pony and stop his plans.
I see the exit and finally crawl out into the open, covered in blood with an alicorn horn in my mouth snarling at the guards. They try to come over to me and calm me down, but I know that they aren’t really guards. The fakes try to let my guard down but I know too well, they bring me back to the city, but I saw my chance and sprinted towards the castle.
Hearing shouts behind me, I start to run faster and faster. I see a light and I just know to run there, the shouts get closer and closer until….
Chapter Seven
….I get tackled down from behind, I hear shouting and hoofsteps slowly approaching me. I look in front of me to see changeling legs, I look a bit higher to see Queen Chrysalis looking down on me with an oppressive force.
“Looks like you aren’t as good as they said, you’ve murdered many of my changelings and even some of your own kind. Don’t worry it wasn’t all you though, after I felt you kill my first changeling I helped you start the rest of the killing,” she slowly whispers in my ear, then chuckles a bit.
“I swear I’m going to get revenge for what you made me do, when I get out you’ll pay!” I screamed at my captor. I don’t think it made him afraid but disappointed, it felt like I’m missing something, something important. My captor slowly lets off the pressure and whispers into my ear something that changed my life from that point on.
Maybe it was the fact I was still pinned to the ground or maybe I was in shock from hearing how easily I could have been manipulated. I had no witty comeback, no sure fire way to tell myself everything was going to be alright.
“Do not worry little pony, I am not a cruel queen, I can help you….at a cost of course,” she smiled at me but instead of happiness all I felt was despair and hopelessness.
I knew I couldn’t hold the guilt of killing, so slowly and desperately I look at her “Please just make me forget what I did and I’ll do whatever you say, please.”
Seeing as I had no other choice, I agreed. Feeling magic wrap around my head, I feel nauseous and fall to my knees and clutch at my head. I can still feel the aftershocks of the magic to this very day, it was a three part spell, one was to wipe my memory of the event in the caves and another was a magic pact that would remind me of my half of the deal until it was completed. The magic pact was banned in Equestria for centuries, it causes the party who does not keep their side of the pact to have a heart attack and die. Lastly the third part was a silence spell to make sure I could not tell anyone about the return of Chrysalis or why I’m going to side with her.
“The Grand Design” he had called it, a masterful and complex plan to reveal the truth of the multiverse and advance the stagnated world I had used to call home. I had helped in the creation of this plan, so had Chrysalis, weather she knew it or not. This was the original reason we had even come here to this hellhole of a plane.
We have established a sort of following over the years that I was missing. There was quite a difficult entrance “exam”, the seeds of doubt have already spread from our followers. We didn’t have many rules but if you broke them, well from what I heard bodies make great fertilizer.
Rule Number One: You do not ask questions.
Rule Number Two: You do not ask questions.
Rule Number Three: No excuses.
Rule Number Four: No lies.
Rule Number Five: Trust Kyra Mykolos.
These were the rules they all followed, I remember the day I entered to see a plethora of races working together on “The Grand Design”. We had four committees….
The Arson Committee, they were devious little shits, they had to plan out everything, learn what it would take to kill someone, use firearms, create explosives, and even infiltrate buildings.
The Assault Committee, now these guys, they were the ones who got the living sacrifices, living sacrifices were the people we threatened into achieving the goals they had set out to do. They also where to ones who worked with the other committees and protected them during the jobs.
The Mischief Committee, they were the ones who worked with the Arson Committee. They destroyed franchise storefronts, corporate buildings, caused outright chaos all over Equestria.
The Misinformation Committee, they were the ones who worked behind the scenes to make sure none of us got caught out there. They were the ones who spread the seeds out doubt, they made sure the truth will stay true and the lies with stay hidden.
All this was “The Grand Design” and tonight is where “Phase Two” begins. The beginning of the end as I liked to call it, we were headed over there now actually. The palace was where it would all start seeing as it was where it all ended.
The crystal caverns, filled the the brim with nitroglycerine. It was beautiful the location of my true intentions, where I finally realized we all have evil in our hearts no matter what we are or who we want to become. I think it’s safe to assume that tonight is the end of stagnation and the birth of progress.
In the caves were hundreds and hundreds of all races ready to lay their lives down for the greater good. He goes up on an elevated part of the caves and starts a speech to this day I have never forgotten.
“In less than an hour, pegasi, griffons, and changelings from here will join others from around the world, and you will be launching the largest aerial battle in the history of all races gathered here today. Unity, that word should have new meaning for all of us here today. We can not be consumed by our petty differences anymore. We will be united in our common interest. Perhaps it is fate that today is the Summer Solstice, and you will once again be fighting for our freedom, not from tyranny, oppression or persecution, but from annihilation. We are fighting for our right to live, to exist, and should we win the day, the Summer Solstice will no longer be known as an Equestrian holiday, but as a day when the world declared in one voice, we will not go quietly into the night. We will not vanish without a fight, we are going to will on, we are going to survive. Today we celebrate our Independence Day!” he walks off the “stage” and heads down into the crowd.
All the while this same moment was shown in all the major capitals across the world, Stalliongrad, Hoofington, Las Pegasas, Manehatten, New Roam, and even the Crystal Empire.
Chapter Eight
I can see my former ally and friend start to raise the moon and lower the sun. Memories of old are hard to eliminate, I know that they don’t raise the sun or moon, but “old” habits die hard. They didn’t even care about Twilight Sparkle, I have been gone for nearly a month now and not even a search party or anything. You would maybe think if two of the saviors of the world disappear, some people would be worried, or at least cause some suspicion. Deep down I had some amount that they were just using me but I really didn’t want that to be true.
Planeswalkers really lose a sense of time, a decade is nothing more than a tiny sliver of our lives, it’s so insignificant that when he said we have to hurry it really meant we have a year or two to enact The Grand Design, now fast forward a year and we are where we changed the world and caused a end to false order.
~~One Year Later~~
You could feel the tension in the air, I was at the eve of a new generation of progress and advancement. The Twilight Sparkle in me was shouting at me to stop this and how horrible the way of doing this was, but that part of me was a falsity so I shut it up.
This moment only came from hard work, and sacrifices made for the greater good. We lost many that day, but their sacrifices were not made in vain. The beginning of the end as the oppressors called it, but really it was the beginning of a new era of freedom.
I remember that day we actually succeeded, he wasn’t smiling, no celebrations, he just said one thing, “Those who sacrifice freedom for security deserve neither.”
We got everything we worked for, Celestia on her knees about to pay for her crimes, next to her was Luna. We were all waiting for them to face judgement.
I raise my sword and steel myself for the action I am about to commit, “Any last words.”
“Why, why are you doing all this Twilight?”
“That’s not my name anymore, and as to why, oh I’m sure if you really think, you already know that answer.”
“Don’t do anything you’ll regret Twilight.”
“How many times do I have to tell you Twilight is gone!”
I stab the sword into the ground next to her face and she looks up in fear, I glare at her, turn around and start to walk away. Behind me I hear movement from Sara and the planeswalker, looking back I see them release the two alicorns and say something to them. They look back in sheer shock and agree with whatever they were told to.
“You might not have killed them, but The Grand Design is complete, we have succeeded in our goals. I am are ready for my departure on this plane leaving this in the good hands of Sara and you, do not worry I will be back soon.”
“Wait, you're leaving us, why we need you!”
“Sorry kiddo, trust me I’ll be back as soon as possible, just take care of the place for me.”
He smiles and gives each of us a hug and slowly starts to dissipate into the air around us. Silently Sara and I grab our gear and move out towards the remains of Canterlot.
~~One Year Later~~
Time, what a beautiful thing, it dulls pains, erases ill, and promises a tomorrow. It’s been a year since he left, we keep our word and take care of Equs for him, it’s hard a times and wish we could go back to the days of causing mischief and fun.
Celestia and Luna tried to regain power when they heard he left, it didn’t work completely, but they did gather some support and now we have a stupid resistance to deal with. Sara later told me what they had told Celestia and Luna, something about run and never come back. Well, they kept their word pretty well, so next time I have the chance they are going to die.
The door slams open and there Sara is walking in after doing whatever she does nowadays. She slumps on the couch next to me and sighs.
“We don’t have much time left before we have to act, Celestia and Luna are gaining more and more support as we speak. We need to start our contingency plan, you know as well as I do we can’t let them win.”
“I know, but what is there left to protect our forces are being decimated, our army of ten thousand is now less than a thousand strong. You also know the contingency plan will only work if he gets here in time, and who knows when that’ll be.”
“While you were sitting here, I did go out and try to make a few allies from around the multiverse and I got a few friends.”
“You know I could have helped you if you told me what you were doing.”
“I know, but I had to do this alone, don’t ask why either, I just had to.”
“Fine, whatever, so you got the allies right?”
“Yeah, other planeswalkers three of them to be precise, there’s Nyx Mykelios, Valkyr Hussar, and of course Kyra Mykolos.”
“What, you found him and you didn’t tell me?”
“No, I didn’t find him Valkyr told me he would be coming to help when the time is right, the others will be arriving soon to quell this damnable uprising.”
I walk out a bit and walk around for a bit, the walls around here make it look pretty terrifying at night, kinda like an evil fortress or castle for a fairy tale villain. The camp looks like a cobbled up mess, but then again only have twenty or thirty people actually here makes it like that. The only people who actually live here are Sara and I, and even we don’t stay here that long.
The alarms start ringing, I hear shouts from the eastern wall, they wouldn’t attack now, or would they...
Chapter Nine
...and attack they did. Who would have guessed that the cowards would actually make a move, I know I didn’t. The clang of armor, the smell of magic in the air, and the sounds of the dying, all sounds that got louder as I approached the breach.
As I arrived the battle took a huge turn for the worst, the rebels started pushing harder into the camp. Sara had run off when the alarms had rung, now I see her doned in full combat armor and carrying an strange object in each hand.
“Yo Amanda, catch,” she threw on of the objects towards me, so I reach out and grab it out of the air. Now that I could get a better view of it, it was a mana-charged rifle, resembled after an AK-47 instead of shooting bullets, it would shoot concentrated blasts of high speed mana. In the place of the magazine was a miniature mana sink to allow for quick recharges.
I start to charge up the gun when I start to hear the sound of the other mana-rifle go off, the rebels start to slow down and make their way over to Sara. It was also the time Celestia and Luna showed up and made a straight dive down towards me, so in my bit of panic I slowly take aim and fire, not realizing that their was a shield already surrounding her.
How she had know I was going to be at command today, I do not know and how she was able to do what she did next was still an unknown to me. She must have been preparing for this day, the day the “traitors” as she put it fall.
What she didn’t expect was the arrival of some help, not the planeswalkers, but some of our own at least a contingent or two. Sara must have contacted them when she grabbed the rifles, speaking of I started to get a better aim on Celestia. She looked confident in thinking that her shield would hold against a barrage of mana, too bad she was wrong. I start to feel a smirk on my face when the shield started cracking and the look of terror on Celestia’s face, when I hear a rapid clicking noise. The gun as it had finally run dry as I hear the shield shattering, knowing it would take too long to charge up a new magazine, I magicked up a spear and charged right at her.
In my haste and fury, I forgot all about Luna and felt her horn stab into my ribs, I cry out in pain dropping the spear. I kick her off me and clutch at my side, there was a gaping hole I had to close up, but Luna not giving me a chance too. She jumped up from where I had pushed her off and grabbed the spear and came charging full force, right behind her Celestia was approaching me at ridiculously high speeds.
That was when I heard some gunfire go off, looking through the corner of my eye I could see Sara firing at Luna. Quickly darting my eyes back towards her, I see her eyes go wide in fear as the mana makes direct contact sending her crashing into the floor. At this point Celestia is now screaming Luna’s name, I use this to summon up another weapon, this time being a sword.
Time and time again, we try and each time we fail. Today was going to be different though, today was the day we were going to succeed. Years ago we had lost our kingdom to a planeswalker allied with my former student, Twilight Sparkle, and the Element of Loyalty, Rainbow Dash. Over the past two years we plotted and patiently waited, gaining the support of many Equestrians who still viewed us as the rightful rulers of this plane.
We stood outside our camp, set up in a manner of stealth and maneuverability. Today I stood next to Luna in charge of the few hundred ponies willing to sacrifice themselves for the cause. It was saddening but necessary for my sister and I too return to power and hold dominion over the plane as we used to.
“Everyday gentleman, everyday that brings us closer to The Reawakening, everyday Celestia and Luna remain free is one more failure. 734 days, gentlemen, 734 failures!”
“Sir, we do not have the adequate resources t…”
“We are being buried beneath the avalanches of your inadequacies, Mrs. Dawnbringer!”
“The winds of change have arrived flowing with us, today we must be ready for a fight whose outcome determines the fate of the plane.” Grabbing the weapon and helmet beside me I shout, “Forward march!”
Arriving at the location of Rainbow Dash and Twilight Sparkle, the army quiets down to a whisper creeping through the woods. Scanning the perimeter, there was not much to be seen other than the occasional guard. Preparing myself, I crouch down and send the signal, and that was then all hell broke loose.
“Mrs. Dawnbringer, I am holding you personally responsible for the situation!”
A phone rings in the background, I move over to pick it up, when I do all I hear is heavy breathing. “Who is this! Answer me!”
“You know, the problem is he know us better than we know ourselves. That’s why I went to Canterlot last night.”
“Luna? What are you talking about?”
“There wasn’t much left, but when I was there it was strange, I suddenly had this feeling that everything was connected. It was like I could see the whole thing, one long chain of events that stretched all the way back before Canterlot. I felt like I could see everything that had happened, and everything that was going to happen. It was like the perfect pattern, laid out in front of me, and I realized we were all part of it, and all trapped by it.”
“So do you know what’s going to happen?”
“No it was a feeling, but I can guess, with so many variables someone will do something stupid, and when they do things will turn nasty, and then we will be forced to do the only thing we know how to do. At which point all he needs to do is come back, and then…”
“Luna, and then what!”
Silence, I hear a click and then a beeping, she hung up, this battle seems like one we cannot lose.
Chapter Ten
New Canterlot a city that tells the sorrow of loss and pain of suffering, the city is a reminder of what they once had, a reminder of what they lost. When Canterlot fell many lost their lives, others lost everything, homes, family, and all their possessions. It pains me to see all this tragedy, but as he said “Sacrifices have to be made for the greater good.”
Panic ran through the streets of New Canterlot, soldiers and civilians alike were being slaughtered left and right. This is what the former Great Equestrian Empire has resorted to, the condemnation of their land, people and honor. What was once a great and prosperous nation is now in ruin, the land of friendship and love is gone, all that remains is a shell of its former glory.
New Canterlot, a city of dissension, soldiers roamed the streets on the constant lookout for any signs of the rebels. The city had been turned into a battlefield, we had never wanted it that way, but Celestia and Luna did what they do best, lie and cheat their way back into a sphere of influence. The city is their stronghold just like how the the old castle in the Everfree is ours.
Many times I had wanted to go back and prevent disasters and save lives. Many times I had wanted to protect the ones I had gotten to know, but I can not, there are many reasons for this, mainly being I do not wish for time and space to be twisted or interfered with. So I had to wait, it pained me greatly to see Amanda and Sara go on without me, all the while the traitors broke the contract and tried to regain their power over the realm. So when the time was finally right I was ready, during my two years of waiting I had not simply stood there, I roamed around the multiverse gathering allies and knowledge, preparing for the upcoming battles.
We all know that a confrontation was unavoidable, but that did not mean we had to lose unnecessary lives. I had a plan, in 10 hours Celestia and Luna will gain aid from Elysium and their angels. Amanda on the other hand will be gathering the remaining forces of the Ninth Compagnie, however, they will not be alone, Sara has been busy gathering herself some allies for the same event.
Have you ever wondered what time actually is, it is not a straight line but more or a trillion lines all converging onto one point. They might all arrive at the same end product, but how they get there is a whole other issue. Have you ever tried to divert the flow of a river, it is not an easy task, the river does not want to change but if you try you may be able to change it for a bit, but it will want to go back to its original course.
Messing with time has severe consequences, I may look like I can predict the future, but really this is not the first time I have written this down. In fact had to start over many times, in one timeline I had accidentally made Amanda and Sara go insane, I had tried to interfere too early and tried to prevent the Changeling Invasion. Another time I had left for two years, but this time instead of killing Celestia and Luna, I had let them go, and I left as I was supposed too. In my haste I did not remember to leave enough supplies and troops to hold off Celestia and Luna, what a failure that one was. In the most recent timeline Celestia and Luna escaped the prisons and gathered an army from Elysium, I wish I could help my dear Amanda, but this is not supposed to happen, I must reset again…
The Canterlot wedding and invasion went as planned, Chrysalis defeated and peace restored. The Grand Design went off without a hitch, Celestia and Luna overthrown and contact with Elysium cut off. I have left the plane in the charge of Sara and Amanda, so far all is going according to plan. Let me hope for the better future, a future where if all my plans come to fruition, Amanda will live.
The worst part of knowing everything is that you know and remember everything you or I will ever do. I remember all the horrors and devastation from so many timelines. I have lived my life more than one should, I changed the timelines of old to fit and mold them into what they are today. Many would say what I do is wrong and messing with time is dangerous, I know it is dangerous but sometimes high risk, high reward. To me my life became a life without consequences, when I die the Multiverse starts over. Don’t ask me why because I do not know, but with the power to live forever you need to use it for progressing the worlds of the Multiverse. That is my duty to the world that had granted me a wish. I am by no means a good person, I do what I do not because it is the right thing to do but because I owe Amanda many things, she might not remember them but I do and that is what matters.
Celestia and Luna have been strangely quiet, I feel like they are planning something. No attacks, no resistance, just silence, I had expected them to try something, at least a last ditch effort, but I guess all my planning finally paid off. After the years of trying to get the perfect events to match up and happen, it just feels weird to see everything go right and not fall into pieces as I try to salvage the situation as best I can.
Through all this hardship and struggle I have learned at least one thing, without death, life becomes a line of prescripted events that have no real meaning.
Chapter Eleven
There are many outcomes to an event, many do not think of those, just the one that will either succeed or fail. For my plan to succeed, I must fail, all that I ever wanted is now gone and will never come back. As the old saying goes, you either die a hero or live long enough to become the villain. Some say I have become a villain, really I’m not that bad yet, my moral system is more utilitarian, instead of minimizing pain and maximizing pleasure, I just want my goals to be completed. Is that so hard to happen, I have many lifetimes to complete this and many more will be spent to see the execution.
Celestia and Luna, they’ve lost their only contact to Elysium somehow, I think he may be watching over us, but I’m not a hundred percent on that. We had a surprisingly easy takeover, it seemed like he knew what what going to happen beforehand and all possible outcomes, even with time magic that’s impossible.
We, Sara and I had expected some resistance from Celestia and Luna, no just nothing it seems too perfect to be true. I’m not saying it’s a bad thing just that it’s strange, like why are they not gathering support from the loyalists. We know they’re out there just waiting for us to slip up and leave an opening, or maybe they actually are gone just done and letting us rule over the plane. Maybe they are being preoccupied by some other thing, maybe I just overestimated their influence on the plane.
“We have to use the remaining influence to gather troops for our army, we don’t have much left. Soon there will be no chance to regain power, and our contact to Elysium has been killed so no reinforcements from them.”
“Do not worry so much, I’ve got a plan. We need to get a gather the remaining Elements of Harmony and convince them that Twilight and Rainbow have been controlled. If we can do that, we may be able to force them to surrender control over the plane back to us without violence. If that doesn’t work then, we’ll have to recreate the Holy Crusades, after all there are some who think we are gods.”
“The Holy Crusades, are you sure, you remember how well they worked against Discord. It might turn out better because they don’t control the laws of physics, but its still risky.”
We have near total control over the plane, as soon as we have enough of an army to take The Crystal Empire by force we will have succeeded. Shining Armor and Cadence will be a bit problematic, so we have a very interesting proposition. I will claim to have Amanda pretending to be Twilight for a bit, then propose the surrender of the Crystal Empire for the return of Twilight Sparkle, the plan is very fifty-fifty. High risk, high reward, anyways if they decline and try to “rescue” Twilight, then we have a in on the Crystal Empire and soon after it will fall.
After that we will go south and attack the Griffon Colonies, that attack plan will be a bit different, instead of our army attacking we will have the hundred or so Changelings infiltrate and destroy the leadership and political power from the inside. It will be a slower execution but will make it easier on us later. Changelings are mobilizing as I write this, all is coming along so perfectly. Soon we will accomplish all that we have set out to do.
The True Fae are not pleased, they do not like how planeswalkers are gaining control over the plane. This makes them a high priority target for extermination, but they cannot truly die for ideas, after all are immortal. The Gentry is already on the move, some of the outlying territories are being attacked. Entire settlements have been replaced by Fetches, The Losts numbers are growing, we will need to start on rescue ops to help some of those Lost.
The seasonal courts are also mobilizing but against who we do not know yet, their numbers are in the hundreds, if they are with us then we will surely claim victory. If they are against us, we may be able to hold them off for a short period of time, but they will eventually reach the others. They must be convinced to join us or it will be the end.
The directional courts have been strangely quiet, although we may know for certain the West Court is preparing for war, most likely against the Gentry and True Fae. We may be able to convince them to join in our forces and attack Celestia and Luna, but lest us not get our hopes too high.
The celestial courts may be mobilizing, but one could never tell with the Sun and Moon Courts always trying to set each other back. The Dawn and Dusk Courts do look like they are preparing themselves, most likely to try and eliminate the Gentry, but we are uncertain. Infiltrating the courts have been a challenge but we have been somewhat successful.
The former noble houses of Equs have also been gathering their forces against the coming convergence, we must keep an eye on them they are the most likely to support our enemies. They number in the two hundreds, so not many but still a formidable size. Eliminate if necessary, if not keep disrupting communications between them, we will not allow them to move against us in the following event.
This account for the intelligence we have accumulated for the time being, more intel is being gathered in the Griffon Colonies, Crystal Empire, Cloudsdale, the Changelings, and the Neighpon. Updates will be patched in directly to you as they come, hopefully the other nations will not interfere, if they do we must eliminate. All is not as it seems, the fight has just begun, they are coming. The Destroyers, The Saviors.
Chapter Twelve
The day started as a unmemorable one, just a normal day, a bit cloudy but that was to be expected, after all not every day could be sunny and perfect. The difference between today and most other days was not much, some would say nothing of note happened, others may say it was strange that Amanda and soon after Sara both got sick within hours of each other.
Sickness, it was not something that happens often, after all when you have magic you can just rid yourself of it. What both Sara and Amanda both had was not a sickness, but rather a mental war. The psyches of their former minds battled for control, Twilight Sparkle and Rainbow Dash did not simply disappear after all that would be too convenient.
No a coping mechanism was developed, another personality would be created to deal with the horrors of what they had saw, all the while the first personality would start splicing the original memory away. Soon after the threat of the memory would be gone and the former personalities would want to regain control of their bodies, but the longer the time the new personality would stay in the body, the stronger it would be. Eventually the two personalities would both be near equal power and a battle for control would be assumed, the battle appears to outsiders as a sickness, similar to a cold or fever.
This entire event was unavoidable, after all I had tried to make the other personalities dissipate, but to no anvil they would always come back. The maximum amount of time I saw to stall their return was almost three years, I had one year to train them as best I could before the fates sent me away for four years before allowing me to return. Most times I had trained them sufficiently enough and they won, other times when I had not kept to the schedule they had lost and all the plans I had crumbled around it.
This part of the plan was always a gamble, I could try and influence the outcome, but both would get the advantage, just one would know and the other might. In all the timelines, the outcome is always random, sometimes Twilight notices other times she would not. I would say it was refreshing, but I would be lying if I said I actually enjoyed watching years of hard work being destroyed.
Amanda was not having a good day, first waking up and seeing Twilight Sparkle sitting in front of her, at that point she knew it was going to be a bad day.
“What do you want, I’m very busy and don’t have time for your useless rambling.”
“You know exactly what I want, but if I need to spell it out, I want control of my body back.”
“Your body! Are you kidding me, you willingly gave it up when you hid from the outside just because it was “scary”, you can go fuck yourself!”
“I didn’t even do that, you stole my body from me when I was vulnerable, you manipulated me into thinking you were a friend.”
“I was never your friend, and manipulate really, what are you ten, I didn’t do anything wrong. I just took back what was rightfully mine, after all I existed before you were implanted my that tyrant Celestia.”
“I wasn’t implanted and I was most definitely here before you, you came from that book, there’s just no other way.”
Sara always hated mornings, but the strange thing was she also hated sleeping in late. Today she decided to sleep in late and look what that brought her. Rainbow Dash stood in front of her, glaring at Sara with a look of anger and a hint of fear, she already knew what was coming after all, he had told them about this. He even prepared us as well as he could, hopefully it would be enough.
“You know I hate sleeping in, why bother me when I’m in a bad mood. Doesn’t seem very smart if you want to try and convince me to give “your” body back.”
“I wasn’t going to try and convince you, I’m going to take my body back by force.”
“You weren’t even going to try diplomacy first, wow you really are the psychopathic murderer he said you were.”
“I didn’t murder anypony!”
“And racist too, wow you really are a bundle of happiness and joy, really are you so arrogant to refer to your race only when speaking.”
“I am not racist! You’re just being a jerk and stuff, just let me have my body back, it was mine originally.”
“When you truly lose something, you can never have it back no matter how hard you try.”
“Yeah, well I haven’t truly lost it yet then, and I will get my body back no matter what.”
Some may say the things I do are evil, but that is not entirely true, after all there is nothing in this world that can be classified as good or evil. I would say my actions are morally pragmatic, it is a better classification than evil or good. Others may not agree with me, claiming there is good and evil and that they are good and I am evil, but that is foolish for no one can claim to have done nothing wrong ever.
Moral, it is a word we as sentients use to describe and judge others, we have had many disagreements on what is moral or not. Really morality is just a means of getting something done, it changes how we act and react in certain situations. It is the subtle undertones of all our actions, the reasons for why sometimes we do things, and other times why we do not.
Many years I have thought this, when I learned of the split personalities that from in the minds of Amanda and Sara, Twilight Sparkle and Rainbow Dash. Is it really alright to have them killed, extinguished, I do not know and I may never know.
Chapter Thirteen
They lost. I can not believe that after everything was going so fantastically, the entirety of my plans all falls apart because of some unknown factor that I can not predict. It is almost as if the universe wants me to fail, how silly for a mere mortal to control the universe in a predictable pattern it thinks to itself. Well, better luck next time I guess, maybe this time Celestia and Luna will not kill me on sight.
Starting over again was about as exciting as it sounds, you do everything the same up until the point you had messed up and fix all your errors. So instead of long range power transfer that could be accessed by both sides during the battle, I would planeswalk into Equus for a bit and merge the minds of Sara and Amanda, all the while sneaking in power through the bond. It may work, hopefully it does, but incase it does not, I have a backup plan.
This plan also is not guaranteed to work, I guess I always did believe in the saying high risk, high reward. Phase one of the plan is reversing the fight with time magic and freezing it in critical places to make changes to make sure Twilight Sparkle and Rainbow Dash will lose. Phase two includes the real tricky part, too make sure no other outside entity helps them I have to enact a null void contract, but in me doing so it will also apply to me. If they mess up at this part and still lose, either the outside force is stronger than me, which is possible but unlikely or there is no outside force and always randomized. Phase three is the last part, where I release the null void contract around the two and seeing the victor take control of the body, if it is Sara and Amanda then I was successful and my plans will have to be speed up around a year. If the other is true, then I will have lost once again and will wait till next time to determine if it is an outside force or a universe hates me moment.
Patience was something I was not originally good at, but after a few hundred loops you get used to waiting. The most recent impasse I have stumbled upon is not a difficult one but a random one, no matter what I do the outcome is always random. Last time I wrote in this was when I had though to succeed, I did. The real issue was not me succeeding or not, it was how or what was going on. Still I do not have an appropriate response for the event we shall call a divergence point. There are only two big outcomes in this, one where I am victorious or one where the universe is.
Well this time I failed...again, but soon I’ll find out all the variables and when I do, all will be smooth sailing hopefully for a bit after.
Well, at least this time I found out that the variable is either a planeswalker with their former powers, or a Celestial with powers that circumvent my own. Who knows, maybe it is actually my own incompetence that is doing all this, in all actuality it probably is.
Instead of doing anything this time to directly affect the outcome, I decided to scan the area around them for any type of magical or mundane variable, committing to memory the entire room, this may take a few tries.
It only took around twenty loops but I had finally figured out the variable, of course it seems silly now but it was me. The only thing that changes each loop is me, so when I tried all those different approaches to the situation I am the one effecting them. I feel pretty “smart”, I mean really after so long you tend to forget such trivial details like you are the only one in the world that controls the outcomes of what you directly effect.
I have come to remember two very important facts that I had discovered when I first realized the I will never die fact. One is the universe and time is not one straight path towards an unknown destination rather it is a multitude of separate timelines. Think of it like a cable, it may look like one wire, but really it is lots of wire bunched up. It goes even further and each wire is a major change in the decision, so there are multiple wires, even these bunch up into a area. This is what determines the future of this one timeline.
Two, I am not outside the influence of time. Many may say I have ascended time, but in reality what happens when I die is instead of moving on and accepting death I uncontrollably send a pulse that sends my memories back in time. So really I do not “time travel” I just change the electric impulses on my brain in the past to remember all the knowledge I have learned.
The end result will be worth all that I have sacrificed in order to make it come true. Hopefully this is my task, that after all this I will finally be able to die. Many mortals say why wish for death earlier when it is eventually going to kill you…, well I learned that when you cannot die life becomes a series of events that mean nothing because anything you experience now, you will experience it again. I hope I am the only one who suffers this fate, it is so horrifying I wish for even my adversaries to not suffer this. You help me remember what is truly important, and make sure I do not repeat my mistakes over and over again in a fruitless attempt to succeed over fate. When I write in you again I hope it will mean a success after all this failure, till we inevitably see each other again. I shall bid you farewell and goodbye.

Sometimes there are moments I wish I could just forget and pretend they went better than they did. This is one of those moments, I was introduced to a good friend of mine…. it was the floor. So there I was lying on the floor stunned and confused, all the while Rainbow was laughing like a madman behind me.
Finally I groan and look in front of me, and there he is offering a hoof. I take it expecting for him to help me up, but of course he just stands there, waiting for me to pull myself up. Did I mention, he’s an asshole, one of the biggest you would have ever met.
“Today is going to be one of those days isn’t it,” I groaned out from the floor.
“Probably, I mean you could have done better,” Rainbow replied curtly.
“ You know most ponies don’t like being insulted, especially by their own friends,” I snapped back.
“Well, you know I thought we were friends Twilight, you know I’m not serious,” Rainbow whispered back.
“Enough both of you, Twilight I will explain everything in due time but for now you will have to wait a bit more,” he plainly stated before going back to whatever he was doing.
“What are you doing anyway?” I turn my head towards him and the box he’s looking through.
“I am looking for some supplies and gear for the all of us, and I would appreciate some help,” he replied instantly.
“Alright I’ll help, what are you looking for?” I asked as I approach the box.
“Pay close attention, I do not want to repeat this twice. First of all I need to find a book, it has chains wrapping it, also there will be more than one of them, if you see them grab two, I can handle the rest of the stuff. The books should be in one of those boxes over there,” he listed off and pointed to a corner of the room.
Seeing not much of a chore I walk over and start looking through the boxes. On the fifth box I opened up, I found what we were looking for, I slowly pull them out and carefully lay them on a table nearby and shout out to the others.
“Hey, I found them what do I do with them!” I shouted over the noise Rainbow was making as she too was looking for some stuff.
“Unravel the chains and bond one of the books to yourself, you will need it later, trust me,” he shouted back from another box.
Knowing what I had too do, I silently walk over to the table and start unraveling the chains, they were a lot heavier than I originally thought. I finish unraveling and lay the chains on the table and open the book, what happened next was something I should have seen coming, but I was really out of it then.
The book slams itself open on the table and starts pulling myself towards it with an invisible force. Surprised by this, i got pulled in and I think my head hit the table, but I’m not sure.
Anyway there was a bright flash and all around me was a library of sorts. Me being the bookworm I am, I picked one up and opened the book, there was another flash and I was in a meadow, the sun was up and shining, wind blew softly against my face. It felt nice after all the shit I went through today or yesterday, but as suddenly as the image can it left.
There is some crazy stuff going on as when my vision cleared, I still felt the meadow around me, I could still feel the sun and the wind. I was so confused, but then I felt a jolt and my vision clears again, I seem to be doing that a lot lately.
When it cleared again Rainbow was standing over me poking me.
“You can stop poking me I’m back or awake,” I get up pushing Rainbow’s hoof from my face.
“So whaddya see, was it something awesome, come on Twilight, tell me,” Rainbow whines as she helps me up.
“I saw a giant library and then there was a meadow, but that’s really all I saw,” I replied satisfying her curiosity for now.
“What you saw was a magical place, it was called The Celestial Plains, you can still feel its magic upon you,” that was not a question but a statement.
“Yeah, it feels nice and I’ve never heard of these Celestial Plains before, where are they located,” I being the genius I am, having forgotten he was not from this world.
“They are from a place long since destroyed, you may not remember them today, but your memories will come back with time, after all hers did,” he replied as he pointed to Rainbow.
At this point I needed to understand what was going on, and the only way I was going to get information was through waiting as he said, so I sighed and found a nice place to curl up and rest for a bit. I haven’t slept in about a day and my eyes were starting to get really droopy.
I was too tried then to notice, but I felt something on my back as I fell asleep and saw something dark from my peripherals. With that last thought I slowly felt my mind drift off into a dreamless sleep, maybe.
He got up and sighed, he told himself to remember not everyone could stay up for weeks at a time without sleep and function like he could. Oh well, he could always tell Twilight Sparkle the plans later, but for now he let the planeswalker sleep for now.
As she slept, they would not be doing nothing, in fact he and Rainbow would need to locate the rest of the supplies and gear to get moving into their travels of the great Multiverse.
