Chapters the beginning of self doubt
"Darkness awaits..."
A disembodied said as he flew through the dark night sky, causing him to stop in mid-flight.
Looking around, he could see no-one around, more importantly, he could see nothing at all.
"What the hell?" He wondered if his father was playing another trick on his only son.
"Damn it dad," he thought bitterly, "why must you insist on teasing me?" Beginning to fly again he heard.
"He's gone...and you will soon face the same fate." It was that voice again, "Ha fat chance," he gloated as he drew his sword from it's sheathe on his back, along with his trusty silver Desert Eagle from it's holster on the back of his waist.
"Now where are you heathen?" He asked without the slightest of sign of fear in his voice.
"I am everywhere, above, below, left, and right, I am the darkness itself."
"So, you're the darkness itself you say? Well allow me to inform you what my ammo is made of." He said nonchalantly as he loaded a new mag of glowing bullets into his Deagle. "My ammo is made of the finest light bullets in all the world's, both gods and demons tremble before the might of these bullets." Puling the slide of his gun back to chamber the first light round. "And as I said before, fat chance." Raising the gun to aim above his head he unloaded the mag into the so called darkness. And to his surprise he heard cries of pain and suffering, which made him cringe.
"Damn it, that's the worst part of killing something." As he said those last words something wrapped itself around his wings, arms, and legs. As he struggled against the restraints he heard a familiar voice say to him through the darkness and pain.
"Just let go brother, the darkness will not hurt you if you would just let it take it's toll."
"ARE YOU INSANE!?!" He screamed in frustration at his brothers disembodied voice. "IT'S TRYING TO KILL ME YOU MORON, I'M NOT GONNA LET IT 'TAKE IT'S TOLL', WHATEVER THE HELL THAT'S SUPPOSED TO MEAN."
His brother let out sigh of disappointment."Listen to me brother, the land it will bring you to is more beautiful than heaven, and the occupants are very accepting of every species, and will welcome you with open arms, as they did me."
He let out a sigh of defeat and let the darkness take him.
"Fine, but if I end up in a world where everything is all happy fun times I won't hesitate to kill you where you stand when I arrive."
He felt nothing, he was drifting in darkness. Then he felt a incredible heat, so hot he screamed in pain and then he was blinded by the sun of all things. "Ah... damn it all bro where the he-" he stared dumbfounded by the being staring at him with curios eyes. "Are ya?" It Answered for him.
"Uh yeah..."
"Well shucks sugercube, yer at SweetApple Acres on the outskirts o' PonyVille." It exclaimed happily, much to his dismay.
"Well, son of a bitch."
"Ah please don't cuss, my lil' sis is here with her friends."
"Um... sorry..." he didn't know why but around this creature he felt at peace with himself.
"Oh that's quiet a'right sugercube, jus' make sure you don't say stuff like that around the little fillys and colts."
Then the realization hit him like a bullet to the head. "Fillies and colts? So you're telling me that i'm in a land of talking horses?!?"
"Um ponies actually, an' i'm thinkin' you're not from 'round 'ere are ya?"
"Gee I wonder what gave that away." Shaking his head before continuing. "And to answer you're question, i'm not even from this world I don't think."
The pony looked at with surprise in it's eyes. "You can't be serious, I mean sure i've seen mah' share o' weird things believe me. But a creature from another world, now that's pushing it." the pony concluded before staring at him expecting a explanation, what surprised it was not the fact that it saw a sword in his hand or the fact that he had wings, either way she understood how possible this impossible situation actually was.
"So...I take it you noticed Masamune." he said while lifting his blade to the sky, and then with one swift motion sheathed it on his back along with his silver Deagle, while his silver hair blew in a stray wind, next he folded his black wings to there natural position.
"My name is Xialian, and you are?" He asked while extending his hand.
"Um... OH right my name's AppleJack, pleasure to meet you Xialian." She said said while extending her hoof to shake his hand. Then they heard a scream, AJ recognized the voice behind the scream, which did not bode well for either of them.
"APPLEBLOOM!"
"Who?"
"MY LITTLE SISTER, OH SWEET CELESTIA LET HER BE ALRIGHT!"
"Well... GOD FUCKING DAMN IT, THIS JUST HAD TO HAPPEN DIDN'T IT!"
Noticing how AJ looked Xialian decided to do what made sense to him at that moment in time. Not really thinking, he picked her up and started flying as fast as he could with the extra weight in the direction of the scream that they heard was.
Slowing down so he could catch his breath Xialian watched in horror at what was happening to three small fillys.
There were being chased by what looked like wolves made of rotten oak or timber.
Xialian cursed under his breath as he pulled out his Masamune, and charged.
A Thanks Given And Rejected
Breathing heavily, Xialian re-sheathed Masamune and his Deagle. "Fucking wolves, Always going after the weak and defenseless." He said as he wiped some sweat off of his brow. "And they got they're fucking tree sap on my coat."
Staring dumbfounded by his words and actions AppleJack, Trying not to puke at the gruesome sight before her said weakly "Y... you killed them..." Xialian stared back. "You're point?" Startled by his reaction AppleJack, slightly angered by what he said stated. "You didn't have to kill them!" Xialian sighed. "What do you think would have been a better action then AppleJack, Please indulge me."
"Well..."
"Exactly, Now if you'll excuse me." Spreading his wing about to fly away, but stopped when he heard her say.
"Thank ya' Xialian."
"What did you just say?"
"Thanks, They woulda' died without you're help."
"I don't want you're thanks."
"What?" Not understanding why he was not accepting her thanks she asked. "Why not?"
"Last time i got thanked by someone, They were his last words..."
AppleJack gasped at this new bit of knowledge about her sisters savior. "Who was he?"
"I see no reason to answer that question." Flapping his wings, He took to the sky and started flying towards a castle in the distance. "I need to tell Twilight about this new creature, Maybe she'll know something about his kind."
"Damn..." Noticing Xialian flying he was stopped by guards holding spears up to his neck.
"Who are you!?!" One guard demanded "I don't have to tell you tell you anything, after-all." Grabbing the spear head he snapping it off before the guard had time to react, Then taking out Masamune, Brought it to the guards throat and pointed his gun at the other. "My best friend gave me the best advice, He said each day's a gift and not a given right. So don't throw it away by threatening a being before you know what they're like, Or how strong they are. You should take that advice, just as I have."
Gulping the guard stuttered. "Right g...great advice." Sighing he re-sheathed Masamune and his gun.
"Well that was impressive."
Turning his head Xialian was shocked at what he say. A midnight blue pony with a flowing mane of sparkling stardust.
"And you're right, that is the best advice." He was to shocked to speak.
"You're majesty!" Said both of the guards in unison before they bowed respectfully. "Please, Rise Storm Wind and Star Light." They stood up before saying. "We apologize for our unimpressive display you're majesty." "That's fine." She responded. "But i'm curios about this being." She said before walking up to him, and asked. "And you are?" He shook his head before answering with. "As I said to these two, I don't have to tell you anything." Before unfolding his wings and rising off the ground, Then he couldn't move. "What the hell is this?!?" Noticing he was glowing a regal blue color. "A simple levitation spell that's what it is, Now please answer my question stranger." "Ugh, fine 'you're majesty'." He said in a mocking tone. "Thank you stranger, Now, wh-." "If you're going to ask me questions, At-least call me by name." "Okay, What is you're name then?" "Xialian, Now ask away." "Very well then, What are you?" "I'm a mix of an angel and a demon, Happy?" "Where are you from?" "Earth, A different world by the looks of things." ........... "What? Stop staring at me dammit!" She shook her head. "Sorry it's just that you might be the first alien on this planet." "Well shit, Guess that means i'll be the center of attention for awhile doesn't it?" "Yes, Is that a problem?" "Yes it is, I hate being around other people or rather, Ponies in this case. It usually ends up with me being very, VERY pissed off." "I see... Well I won't let anypony know you're here then Xialian." "And just how do you plan to do that? I kinda stick out like a sore thumb around here." "Teleport spell obviously, How else?" He stared at her in annoyance. "I can't use magic you fucking idiot!" His words startled her, Needless to say. The guards didn't like that.
"Don't talk like that to the princess you imbecile!" "[b GO FUCK YOURSELF YOU MINI HORSE WHO ISN'T WORTH TWO SHITS IN A FIGHT!!!"
"THAT'S ENOUGH YOU TWO " "Sorry you're majesty, I just won't stand by and let you get insulted by this thing.
"And I appreciate that but let me handle it next time, Okay Star Light?" "Of course you're majesty, I'm sorry" "How cute, Maybe you two should get married." They both blushed at that comment. Then they heard something they didn't expect to hear. Laughter, Very loud and obnoxious laughter. "OH GOD THAT WAS TOO FUNNY AHAHAHAHA, uh... okay okay sorry, Oh man that was a good one." They stared no longer blushing at each-other. "That was a joke?" "Of course it was a joke, And I have no idea why but around you I fell really happy about everything life has to offer. Even jokes such as that one, And i'm really sorry but that reaction was just too funny, Oh God. You know what else is funny?" "What?" "This the opposite of how I usually am, Which is weird to say the least. Anyway I've told you about me so why not tell me about you hmmm?"
Xialian Gets A New Headache To Deal With
After Xialian left, AppleJack decided to go to Twilight Sparkles library and ask if she knew anything about what he was.
"So you don't know anything about what he was?" "I'm sorry AppleJack, but there isn't anything about winged creatures that walk on two legs in the library books." AppleJack sighed "He wouldn't even let me thank him for saving the girl's." Twilight looked surprised at that. "What do you mean he wouldn't let you thank him?" "He said he didn't want my thanks, and that the last person that said thanks to him died, and they were his last words." Said AppleJack with a sad look on her face. Twilight looked sympathetically at her friend. "I'm sorry AppleJack, I'm really sorry." AppleJack just shook her head. "There's nothing to be sorry for twi, so why are you sorry?" "I'm sorry that you had to see what he did to the Timber Wolves." AppleJack shook her head again. "Don't worry about that, I'm just worried how the girls are doing." Twilight looked around with wide eyes. "I know what you mean, Just don't let pinkie know that there's somepony new to Equestria and that he flew off towards Canterlot okay?" Then they heard a gasp, Twilight facehoofed "Darn it, I should have known Pinkie would hear that." She looked out her window and saw a streak of pink going towards Canterlot. Xialian didn't have any idea was he was in for.
"So you raise and set the moon every night, and you're sister Princess Celestia raises and sets the sun?"
"That's correct." Luna was explaining how Equestria worked to him, with surprisingly little effort. "I guess I know why I liked you on first sight Luna." "Oh? And why is that Xialian?" He looked at her with longing in his eyes. "Because I love the night."
Luna was surprised."You do?!?" "Of course, who wouldn't like the moons soothing light, the shining stars, and the cool breeze it brings?" She had tears in her eyes."Thank you Xialian" "Please don't thank me Luna, the last person who thanked me died after he said it." He had a sad look in his eyes. "Who was he?"
He looked toward the setting sun. "My brother..." Luna was shocked. "I'm so sorry Xialian, I didn't mean t-." "It's fine Luna, it's been five years since then, I've gotten over his loss." "How did he die, if you don't mind me asking?" "Of course not Luna." He unfurled his wings, and started flapping. While hovering there, he beckoned Luna to follow him. "Where are we going?" Luna asked while flying alongside Xialian. "Someplace beautiful." He didn't know why, but he had a sudden urge to head back to where he woke up.
AppleJack just bucked her last apple tree for the day when she heard flapping. Suspecting her best friend RainbowDash she turned to greet her friend. To her surprise and dismay, it wasn't her friend. "Hello AppleJack." Said Xialian as he landed in front of the orange mare. "How are you?" She was surprised to see him here after what happened. "What do you want."
"I wanted to ask if I could stay in the barn until I find out a way to make money." She looked surprised at him. Then she noticed Luna and bowed quickly before standing up and looking angrily at Xialian. "So you think you can just come back, say sorry, and then i'll let you live with me?" "Of course not, I plan to earn my keep with work if's that's alright with you and luna."
"In that case, welcome to the family Xialian ." Luna was confused about alot of things at that point in time. "So this is why you brought me with you?" "Yes Luna, it is." He turned and held out his hand to the princess of the night. "It was a pleasure meeting the one behind the beautiful night sky." She shook his hand. "The pleasure is mine Xialian." "And to answer you're earlier question about how he died, he got possessed forcing me to kill him." "Again my deepest sympathies for you're loss Xialian." "It's fine." She flapped her wings before taking flight. "What was that about?" Asked AppleJack while looking at him questioningly. "Perhaps another time, perhaps another time..." Then out of nowhere Xialian got tackled by a pink blur. Reacting instinctively, he kicked of the assailant and pulled out his sword. He blinked, confused by what just happened. "What the hell just happened?" "Hi i'm PinkiePie and since you're new here i have to throw you a welcome party and i'll invite everypony there's gonna be cake. ice cream, candy, sasparilla, punch, cupcakes, and loads of fun."
"No."
"What?"
"I said no parties, I hate social gatherings." Her hair flattened, while her coat got darker. "But everypony likes parties."
"I don't, I hate being around others, it annoys me and gives me a headache." Unfurling his wings, Xialian flew off to the barn.
After helping Pinkie get back to her old self again, AppleJack went to confront Xialian about why he acted that way.
"Why were you mean ta' Pinkie?!?" AppleJack asked him. He was currently hanging upside-down by using a beam, wings wrapped around his body and face. "She annoyed me, and I wasn't lying about anything I said so leave me alone." AppleJack just stared. "I'm not gonna leave a friend to sulk in his own misery." He fidgeted and revealed his face, he looked conflicted. "Friend?" AppleJack nodded her head. "Yes I think of you as a friend, after-all you saved both mine and Rarity's sisters along with their best friend. And besides, you still haven't met ma' friends who are just itching to meet ya'." AppleJack said slipping back into her southern accent now that she's not as serious as before. "No thanks AppleJack, I would rather just not be social if that's alright with you." Said Xialian covering his face with his wings again.
Deciding it would be impossible to talk him out of the barn. She would just have to bring her friends there to meet Xialian. When she left she saw Xialian pull out a black rectangular shape and start moving his thumb around on it, puling out a pair of white orb looking shapes Xialian proceeded to put them in his ears. Deciding to surprise him with bringing her other friends to meet him, AppleJack exited the barn. After leaving the barn and closing the door she heard what sounded like crying. AppleJack slowly opened the barn door. She saw Xialian sitting on a haystack crying while holding a picture. "Xialian?" There was no response from him at all. She got closer and saw what looked like a pony, but she could see through it, but decided to focus on him at the moment. "Xialian?" She asked again, still nothing. She sat down next to him and put a hoof on his back and rubbed. "Hey what's wrong Sugercube?" He turned his head at looked at her with sad eyes. She saw alot in those silver eyes of his, pain, sadness, grief, sorrow, loss, death, but most noticeable was longing. A longing only love and friendship could cure, which is was she intended to give him willingly. She wrapped him in a hug as he began to tear up again. "It's okay, just let it out, let it all out." Xialian was shocked at the way AppleJack was acting. He felt warmth inside he's only felt when with his brother... He looked at the transparent pony, then it stood on two legs and changed into a human form. He stared, dumbfounded. "Roxas... is that you?" The apparition nodded, then pointed and said "Don't drive the nail that's in you're heart deeper Brother, forgive yourself as father did." "How... how can I possibly forgive myself for killing you!?!" Roxas shook his head then said. "Just let go of you're hate, listen to you're heart, and find love." AppleJack finally finding her voice again simply stated."He already found love, the love of a friend." Xialian stared at Her for awhile before tearing up again and hugging her back. "Thank you AppleJack, and i'm sorry for the way I acted, i'm glad you were the first one I met." She blushed at that."Aw shucks Sugercube, i'm glad I met you too." Roxas looked at them with a smile before putting a fist towards Xialian."One last time brother?" Xialian turned and nodded. "One last time." Their fists connected and Roxas vanished. Xialians arm glowed a fiery orange before he felt intense heat. Xialian broke the hug and fell to the barn floor clutching his arm in agonizing pain. Then the pain vanished, he looked at his arm and saw a orange trail of fire coming from his wrist all the way up to his shoulder. AppleJack had a worried look on her face. "Are you okay?" He looked up at her before standing up and rolling back his sleeve to show her the marking. "I'm more than okay." He held his arm to his chest before saying. "Thank you Roxas, I will use this power to protect others as you did." His hand started to steam before being engulfed in flames. As the flames on his arm began to dance AppleJack stared before asking. "What is that?" The fire went out as the flames stopped moving. "I have wings, my brother had fire, And he gave it to me." He walked to the door before stopping and looking back. "I have a pony to say sorry to, mind leading the way AJ?" She nodded and trotted over to him before he opened the door and opened his wings. "Hop on, You can see alot more from the air." She did as he said climbing on his back, careful not to mess with his wings or sword. "just tell me where she lives and we'll be there in a flash." He said flapping his wings before taking off at blinding speed, only leaving a few black feathers blowing in the wind.
A New Pony In Town? He Looks Familiar
After Xialian apologized to Pinkie and explained why he was acting the way he was. Pinkie of course wanted to throw his 'welcome to PonyVille' party, but Xialian said only if her and AJ's friends were there and no one else. "I hope the others accept me as you and Pinkie have." Said Xialian as they were sitting in the grass enjoying the soft breeze. "Am' sure you'll be jus' fine." She said she gave him a brief but comforting hug. He smiled then stood up. "I hope you're right..." AppleJack looked at the empty on his face. "Xialian, what's wrong?" He jumped slightly. "Oh sorry AJ it's just, I swear I sensed Roxas' presence just now." She was surprised at that. "Really, where?!?" "It came from the forest on the edge of PonyVille, but it was slightly different in shape." "What does that mean?" Xialian unfurled his jet black wings and started hovering above the ground slightly. "Tell Pinkie that I went to check something. And that I would be back soon okay?" "No, i'm not letting a friend go into the most place in Equestria without somepony else with them!" Xialian just shook his head before floating over the AppleJack. And kissing her forehead. Causing her to blush. "I understand what you mean, but I always go into someplace dangerous either with or without Roxas by my side. So I've learned how to take care of myself, and besides you know how strong i am. After-all you saw me take down a pack of those wolves alone without a scratch, and I wasn't even trying hard to take them down." He began to flap his wings before he felt something latch onto his leg. He looked down and saw AppleBloom with teary eyes. "But mister, there are more things than jus' Timber Wolves in those woods, there's Hydras, Cockatrices, Manticores, And it's really dark in there." He picked her up before saying. "Don't cry AppleBloom, I've fought those all before, their just kind of a hassle to me now that i''m stronger." He put her back down before tearing the right sleeve of his jacket off to reveal his new flame markings. "And I've got this now." His hand lit on fire before quickly going out again. "I'll be fine." He flapped his wing hovering before stooping and looking back. "And one more thing AppleBloom, If anyone bullies you or you're friends let me know and I'll teach them what a true bully is like okay?" "Sure." Said AppleBloom. "I'll be sure to let you know." He nodded before flying off at blinding speed toward the forest.
"Uhhh." A pony groaned while standing up and stretching his wings. "Damn... my head hurts like a bitch."
The Pegasus had a pearl white coat and a yellow mane and tail that had a red streak through them. His wings had copper colored armor on the tops of both of them. "Where am I anyway?" He looked around, seeing nothing but darkness and trees. "If only I had the same eyes as my brother, oh well." He sighed, stretching is wings he flapped and lifted of the ground. "Hmm... it seems I lost some weight." Before he could to see if he had in fact lost weight, he heard flapping. Slow, heavy flapping. He glanced around, when he saw him. "Roxas?" "Xialian?" "I thought you were dead." "I thought this was heaven." He didn't get to say another word before Xialian gave him a hug, a really tight hug. "Xialian, can't, breath." He managed to gasp out when he heard. "I'm so sorry Roxas I really am." Then he felt something wet drop onto his neck. Xialian was crying. "Hey it wasn't you're fault, there's no need to be sorry." "I still killed you, my own brother dead by my hands." He just hovered there, motionless. Then he felt really tired, and fainted in the loving embrace of his brother. "Roxas? ROXAS!" Xialian screamed before he saw him breathing. "Oh thank god he only fainted." Xialian turned and flew towards the orchard with Roxas in his arms.
"It's okay AppleJack." Said TwilightSparkle as they waited for Xialian to come back from the forest. "Yeah I'm sure he'll be fine AJ, I mean he took on a pack a TimberWolves like they were nothing alone !" Said RainbowDash very enthusiastically. "That's not the point, It's the fact that he wanted to go alone." Then they heard heavy flapping. Everypony turned to greet the guest of honor when they noticed he just flew past them into the barn without even saying hi. "What the hay was that about?" Asked RainbowDash. "Maybe he's getting ready for the party?" Wondered TwilightSparkle, then something clicked in her mind. Xialian set Roxas down on a hay-bale when he heard a knock on the barn door. "Sorry Pinkie but the party is postponed until further notice." "It's AppleJack, is everything okay Xialian? Can I come in?" "Well it's you're barn AJ." The door opened to reveal 4 ponies. "What's the matter Xialian?" "It's my brother." She ran up to him and hugged him tightly then letting go giving him a concerned look. "Is everything okay?" "Yes everything's fine AJ, I was just so happy and remorseful at the same time. It really surprised me though." "Did you find what it was was that made him sense him?" "Yeah..." He started to tear up when AppleJack hugged him again but didn't let go when he leaned into the embrace. Twilight, Rainbow, And Pinkie walked in to see Xialian crying into AJs shoulder. Twilight ran up before asking. "What's wrong with him AppleJack?" She looked at her friend. "I have no idea, he just started to tear up so I'm trying to help him relax." He sniffed. "thank you AppleJack, is he awake?" "Who?" He pointed to a sleeping Pegasus. "Him." She stared for a moment. "Who's that?" He got up and walked over to the sleeping Pegasus in question before kneeling down. "My brother, Roxas ."
I Guess I Can't Deny What I Am
Xialian yawned after stretching and hearing his wings pop when he flexed them. "Well that was a long day." He said while looking at his still sleeping brother. "I'll be back Roxas." Said Xialian before taking flight towards ponyville hoping to introduce himself to AppleJacks other friends while there.
He landed near a cottage, from AJs description of the pony that lived there. She was an extremely shy Pegasus who had a major fondness for animals, having his own dog that he loved very much, Xialian could relate a love for animals. When he knocked on the door however, he heard a light squeak. "J...just a minute." "No rush." When the door opened he saw a very timid looking yellow Pegasus with a long pink mane and tail. "H...how can I help you mister?" Xialian knelt down to her eye level before saying. "Hi, i'm Xialian. And you're FlutterShy right?" She opened the door more "Y...yes, how did you know?" He smiled. "AppleJack told me her friend FlutterShy lived in a cottage next to the forest." "Oh you know AppleJack?" "Yes, in fact i'm living in her barn for the time being. I was hoping that I could meet and be friends with all of her friends." "Oh... okay Mr. Xialian, I hope we can become good friends." She looked up at him, then gasped. "What is it FlutterShy...? FlutterShy hello?" He waved his hand in front of her face. FlutterShy gave him a stern look before asking in a low voice. "Where did that sap come from?" Xialian was shocked at how her voice sounded. "It's from some wolves that were trying to kill three fillies, why?" "How did it get on you're coat?" Xialian didn't know where this was leading. "Because that's what happens when you kill something." FlutterShy muttered something Xialian couldn't hear. "What did you say?" She looked at him with fire in her eyes. "I SAID YOU'RE A MONSTER." Xialian was taken aback by her words. "What?" "Only a monster kills without a reason." "But I had a reason to kill them so what's the problem!" "Did the ends justify the means?" "Yes they did." "So why did you kill them." "The fillies would've been killed if I didn't take action, and I would rather do without their blood on my hands. I have to much as it is." He said sadly. "Alot of people have died because of me, especially those I love." He looked back down to FlutterShy. "You're right, i am a monster." After he said those final words he unfurled his wings, and took flight to nowhere in particular. FlutterShy watched him go. "What have I done?"
As he was flying Xialian thought about all those he has let down. He came across a waterfall, deciding now was as good a time as any, he took of his coat and undershirt. "Guess i'll just meditate for a few days to get my mind settled." He said before sitting under the waterfall. As the water ran down his back and around his neck he began humming. "Xialian?" Startled by the sudden noise, he looked up to see non other than FlutterShy. "What do you want?" Her ears flattened against her head. "I'm sorry, so so sorry." He sighed. "Don't be, you were right, I mean look at me." Xialian stood up to reveal one long scar along his chest down to his left side. FlutterShy just stared at the scar. "How did that happen?" "Well... my brother gave me this." He ran his hand across the scar. "But why would he do that?" "It's another mark of my failure as a brother. I let him get possessed by evil spirits. And I was forced to kill him, this is a testament to that failure." "How did it happen?" He sighed, "I let him go into a very dangerous place alone. As a result of me not helping him, he got possessed. And I had to end his life." Xialian walked to his coat and pulled the sword out from the sheath on the back, it had a red hue to it that pulsed every few seconds. "I'm a combination of both angel and demon. But the demon side is much more prominent than the angel." He raised his sword to his neck, and sliced it open. Blood spilled from the wound in his neck. Then, it stopped. "Heh can't even be hurt." He turned to the horrified looking Pegasus. "See? I'm a monster. I kill to make a living, in my world I'm a demon hunter." She looked on in horror at what he just did. After finding her voice again, she said to him. "I don't think you're a monster, I think the reason you k...killed those TimberWolves was very heroic." He scoffed. "Killing something is a choice, I could have let them live if I wanted to. But I didn't, you know why?" "Why?" He put his shirt and coat back on. "Because it's in my nature." He simply stated. "Demons are cruel beings, always killing and stealing the souls of their victims. But angels don't kill unless they absolutely have to, but the demon inside me is stronger than the angel." Re-sheathing his sword and taking out his gun. "But the angel is quite strong as well." holstering the gun and flexing his wings. "But the demon will always be stronger. And nothing can change that, not even my brother." About to fly away, he stopped, he sensed something dangerous coming closer to them. As he pulled out his sword and gun he said. "FlutterShy get behind me." She was confused. "But why-" "JUST DO IT." With a light squeak she got behind him. Xialian heard a thump, gripping his sword tighter he whispered. "Somethings coming, something big." FlutterShy peeked over his shoulder. "What is it?" He closed his eyes concentrating, then they snapped back open before they narrowed. "A dragon, a big dragon whose hungry. FlutterShy I want you to run." She just stared at him. "No I won't leave you here to fight a dragon." "THIS IS NOT A DISCUSSION NOW GO! I WON'T KILL IN FRONT OF SOMEONE LIKE YOU, you don't wanna see what i'm about to do so please, just go." "But-" "GO!" She was startled by how loud he got. "O...okay, but don't kill it, just show it how strong you are and it will back off." "Fine, now go!" After she flew off the dragon burst through the trees, and stared. "Bah another small one, I sensed something a little bigger, what a disappointing catch." The dragon said in a deep bellowing voice. "What a big surprise, I hope for you're sake you've got something inside that big body of yours." The dragon growled. "You puny pathetic thing, i'll step on you like an ant ahahaha." Xialian just smirked, and let the dragons claw hit him. The dragon started laughing manically. "That was to easy." "That's what you think." "Huh?" The dragons claw started to rise slowly, then one of his fingers were gone. "AHHH!" The dragon screamed in pain. "Xialian flew up and landed on the dragons snout and walked up to one of the dragons eyes, lifting his sword he said. "Do you know who I am? Basically, kind of a big deal, my name is Xialian. I'm a combination of both a demon and an angel. And you know what else?" The dragon just stared. "I have killed things much stronger than a dragon whose more than a little cranky. So basically." He hovered towards the dragons ear and whispered. "Run." The dragon obliged and started running away while clinging on his wounded hand. Xialian just scoffed, and with one swift swing, got the blood off of his sword then sheathed it on his back. After FlutterShy flew away and went back to her cottage she waited. Xialian took flight back towards FlutterShys house, keeping his word he didn't kill the dragon, he did however scare it to the point of tears. "Man dragons are wimps in this world." He said to himself, he spotted FlutterShys little cottage and landed in front of it then knocked. "W..who is it?" "Xialian." The door opened fully to show a scared looking FlutterShy. Xialian knelt down to her eye level. "Are you okay FlutterShy?" He asked with concern in his voice. "Y...yes I'm fine, thank you." "Please don't thank me for anything, the last person who thanked me died afterwards. It brings back too many memories of my past." "Oh... okay s...sorry" He just shook his head. "That's okay, I didn't kill him like I said. Just gave him a battle scar and watery eyes. The dragons in Equestria are wimps compared to the dragons back where I come from." She looked at his face then gasped. "You're bleeding!" "I am?" Asked Xialian, Reaching up to his forehead and feeling something wet. He looked at his hand and saw blood. "God dammit... just what I needed, head trauma." He scoffed before his sight became blurry. "Fuck... I think i'm gonna...gonna..." He collapsed onto FlutterShy who squeaked at the sudden weight on top of her. She scooted out from under him, noticing the blood starting to pool around Xialians head. "Oh no Xialian!" She shouted. The last thing he saw was his brother in his arms, bloodied and beaten. "Roxas...I'm sorry." "Don't be, you saved me, and I thank you." "Roxas..." He said in a weak voice, before the darkness took him.
Beep Beep Beep. Fluttershy looked at the sleeping body of Xialian as the heart monitor beeped at a steady pace. "It's all my fault." Says Fluttershy with tears in her eyes. "If I didn't call him a monster he wouldn't have flew off like he did." The door opened to reveal the nurse whose name is RedHeart. "Miss Fluttershy, visiting hours are over, I'm gonna have to ask yo to leave." She nodded towards the nurse before turning her head and giving Xialian a kiss on his bandaged forehead. Beep Beep Beep. "Would someone please shut this fucking thing off!?!" Screamed Xialian. "Oh you're awake, that's surprising." Said nurse RedHeart. "Yeah yeah, just get me outta this fucking hospital." "Sorry, but not until we know for a fact that you'll be fine on you're own." Xialian let out a aggravated sigh. "Fine, but i heal very quickly, see?" Xialian said before unwrapping the bandage on his head. Nurse RedHeart just stared on in astonishment. "But...how?" She sputtered. "How did you heal in only one day?!?" Xialian just scoffed, then unfurled his wings. "I'm half angel, and half demon. I tend to heal pretty fast. What would you expect from an immortal such as myself?" Xialian folded his wings back against his shoulders where they should be. "Where's my sword and gun?" RedHeart shook her head in astonishment before giving Xialian a stern look. "Based on what FlutterShy said about what they can do, and how powerful they are. They were given to the princess for safe keeping." "You're shitting me." "Afraid not." Xialian ran one of his hands through his silver hair. "There not gonna stay there long. You know that right?" "What do you mean?" He smirked, raising both of his hands. "Their enchanted to come to me when I want them to." The trees outside the window started to sway, slowly at first, then violently.
In Canterlot Castle the princess' of both the night and day stood to attention. "The vault!" They both said in unison. Getting up and rushing to the vault the royal sisters saw small dents being made from the inside of the vault door. "What's going on Tia?" Asked Luna. "I don't know Luna, I don't know." Replied Celestia. The dent started getting bigger, and bigger until they heard what sounded like metal scraping against metal. "You don't think..." Said Luna trailing off. "I'm afraid so. The weapons are trying to return to their wielder." Luna looked to Celestia. "Will they break through?" "It seems so little sister." "Is there any way to stop them? Any way at all?" "I'm afraid not. The enchantments that bind the weapons are to powerful, even for both of us combined." Luna looked back to the vault. A gash was starting to form in the metal made by the spinning sword inside. "I know who the owner is," Celestia looked at Luna, shock clear on her face. "You do!?!" "Yes, his name is Xialian. He isn't from this universe." "Why didn't you tell me!?!" Luna cringed. "He hates getting attention. and knowing what's it's like to get no attention, I promised to keep him a secret." Celestia sighed then shook her head. "Do you know where he is living?" "He is currently living in AppleJacks barn on SweetApple Acres." "I see..." The noise of metal grinding metal stopped before the sword stabbed through the weakened metal, stopping dangerously close to Celestias chest. She stared in shock at the sword which was slightly stained with dragon blood and pulsing a blood red color. Celestia stared with fear in her eyes at the bloody blade before her. "Th...This sword, it has so much hate, so much death, so much pain, so much suffering, so much blood-lust. and so many tears shed by the Wielder. But why?" Luna just stared, unable to speak due to what had just transpired right before her eyes. "Why is the wielder suffering?" Before she could say another word, the sword plunged into Celestias chest. But no blood was shed by the blade, and no screams of pain came from Celestias mouth, only tears. The sword removed itself from her chest. But it was different, instead of having a red pulse to it. It pulsed a bright blue color. As it flew past her at blinding speeds, Celestia collapsed to her knees, crying. "Tia? Tia!?! " She could hear her named being called. When she looked up at the concerned face of her younger sister, Celestia broke into uncontrollable sobs. "Oh Luna! It was horrible what he had to go through before he came to Equestria." Luna cradled her sister in her front hooves while whispering small reassurances in her ear. "It's okay Tia. It'll all be okay." Celestia sniffed before saying. "Will you stay with me tonight Luna, please? I don't want to be alone with his memories and emotions he felt along with those moments." "Of course Tia. You just need to ask whenever you want me with you for comfort and reassurance." "Thank you Luna." "What did you see to make you of all ponies cry like that?" "I shall explain in my chambers. For now, I just need you with me." "Of course Tia. Of course."
After the weapons flew out of one of an open window of the castle and returned to Xialian in the hospital, much to the dismay of the nurse. Xialian hopped out of bed, donned his normal attire, and strapped his sword to his back when the nurse stated. "You're not going anywhere until you are properly checked out of the hospital!" He just smirked at her. "Watch me." Xialian opened the nearest window and peered down. "You can't possibly be thinking about jumping, were on the top floor." Xialian just smirked again before standing on the windowsill. He turned around before saying. "I'm a nephilim." And falling backwards off the windowsill.
After FlutterShy left Xialians room and headed for the door leading outside, she noticed a mob of ponies standing outside, all of them looking up with dismay clear on there faces. "What's going on?" She wondered to herself aloud. "One of the patients is standing on the windowsill of there room." FlutterShy made a light squeak and turned to face the pony. "Hello, i'm the doctor." The chestnut colored pony with a dark brown mane and tail said while straightening his green tie. "Oh um... i'm FlutterShy." She said quietly before her head shot up in surprise. "Wait, you said a patient is standing on the windowsill of there room?!?" "Yes, top floor in fact." The doctor said nonchalantly. The crowd screamed. "It's falling!" One of the ponies in the mob screamed over the crowd. "Oh no." FlutterShy said quietly before she spread her wings about to fly up to catch the falling patient when the doctor stopped her. "What are you doing?!?" She asked, trying to fly away. "Just wait and you'll see." Said the doctor blocking her path.
As Xialian was falling he heard a faint "It's falling!" from below. "Well, it seems we have some company. Don't we Xialian?" Said a voice in his head. "Welcome back old friend." Replied Xialian in his head. "Where have you been all this time?" He asked. "I was... Let's just say that i was busy with other things." The voice replied. "Well i could really care less what you were doing these past few days." Said Xialian just before he flipped in the air in order to land on his feet. The crowd of ponies scattered just before he landed in a crouched position cracking the ground and stirring up a cloud of dust. After the dust had cleared, he stood up and dusted off his coat. "Well that was exciting." Said Xialian nonchalantly. "Xialian!?!" He turned to the voice and saw non other than FlutterShy standing just outside the door. "Oh um hi." He said rubbing the back of his head with a slight blush on his cheeks. "How are you awake already?" Asked FlutterShy. "Remember, that I heal really quickly." He replied. "Well yes, but you were bleeding really badly." He just sighed. "Yeah about that, a dragon is the only thing that could potentially kill me." He replied. "It's really annoying because dragons are everywhere in the eternal plains of Elysium." Somepony cleared his throat before saying. "So your from Elysium then?" Xialian turned to greet the chestnut colored pony behind him. "Yeah, but why do you care?" He replied. "I've been there before. Very peaceful place from the looks of things, but last time I was there I didn't see any dragons." The pony replied before walking closer to examine Xialian. "Fascinating..." The stallion said while circling Xialian and looking him over. "What are you looking at?" Said Xialian in a threatening tone. "Oh, my apologies, I've just never seen a being like you before and I was curios." "You've probably never seen something like me because there are only two in existence, me, and my brother." Xialian replied to a very shocked doctor. "In-fact..." Xialian trailed off before spreading his wings and flying off towards Sweet Apple Acres.
"Uhhh..." Moaned Roxas, slowly siting up while clutching his head with a hoof. "What...happened?" He groaned to nopony in particular. "Xialian?" He moaned. "Oof... ow" Groaned Roxas when he fell off the pile of hay that he had been resting on. "Where am I... Wait... I think I remember something before..." The barn door creaked open and there was standing someone he didn't expect to see. "Xialian!?!"
