Chapters The Princess and The Dragon
The Broken Fourth Rule
My Little Pony; Friendship is Magic
Chapter 1: The Princess and Dragon
It all started with a broken rule.
My name is Tony Niles. When I hang out with my pre-hypertensive friend, Brody Thatcher, we always have a good time. When we hangout, we have a set of rules on what we can and can not talk about.
These four rules are:
1.) Religion, too complicated.
2.) Politics, unless it's an election year.
3.) Reeses Peanut Butter cups, don't ask.
4.) My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.
I never thought that breaking a social rule -- number 4 to be exact -- would come back and bite us.
It started out like any other time that Brody and I hang out. We were leaving Target with our purchase. My plastic bags were weighing me down, so I dropped them on a nearby bench. Brody in tow was reading a player's guide that he bought.
"So," Brody started, still not looking up from the guide. "Did you get everything Tony?"
"Yah, it's tough being the cool uncle, but I got everything, including this." I pulled out a DVD with a magenta border and eight multi colored rainbow ponies and the title: "My Little Pony, Friendship is magic, Royal Canterlot Wedding. " All done up in colorful balloons.
Broady looked up from the guide and saw the DVD. "Hey, why did you pick that up? I thought we wouldn’t speak of this. Number 4, remember?"
"I know, but you turned my niece into a brony!" I snapped. "She read your Fan Fiction and became a fan of that show. So she begged me to buy it for her."
"You mean a pegasister, a boy fan is called a brony, a girl fan is a pegasister." He said to me matter-of-factly,“Besides, I am not a total Brony I like the well written characters and stories. You don’t get much of that these days when it comes to TV. It’s all about ratings and money.” He looked at his watch nervously and then looked up from his watch. His eyes darted around as if he was looking for something.
I smiled my signature Cheshire Cat grin and patted his back. "Calm down, I didn’t know it was such a big subject for you. We still have all day. What do you want to do?"
He exhaled raggedly. "Right, relax. Hey, how about the new Batman movie? The local Cinema has a discount today, lets do that!"
"Hey, atta boy. That's what we'll do."
The smell of fried food and new shoes was everywhere as we walked to the other side of the mall. Nothing much has changed in the old place, but it was good exercise. I had a longer stride being a six foot, redheaded ginger. I had my share of problems but I took them with stride. I was very disarming with my smile, of course I sort of looked like a madman so…
Brody had a strange gape, he swung his left leg wide as he walked forward. His family once told me that he was struck by lightning. Average is the best way to describe him, even his mustache and his dark brown hair... well except his brain: crazy smart. But I had a feeling that there was always more to him than even he knew.
We spent ten minutes talking about anime, manga, and the reality of science fiction devices. Just guy talk, the usual things for us, anything to entertain us. We turned back to reality when Brody stopped for a moment to pick up some money on the ground. Looking ahead of us he saw a woman was fiddling with her purse.
"Ms.," He called to the woman. As she turned around Broady extended the money towards her and simply said. "You dropped this.".
"Thank you young man." She replied before taking it and walking away.
"Ain't you mister Dudley Do-Right." I joked, slapping him in the back with a laugh. "So, how's work?" I asked.
"Same old: cutting everyone's hours, everyone benefits, blaming it on the economy, but that's to be expected," he answered with a shrug. "Oh, yeah, I put six new stories on Fanfiction and I signed up for a couple of new classes too. So what's up with you? How's the band?"
"Its doing great, just got to get a gig and now I'm learning two more instruments."
"Five, now! You've got..." Brody exclaimed.
"Yeah, just call me a thrashion, electric violin, celtic bouron drums, Piano, Guitar and now a steel flute player! Cool right! Ha, I got a twenty cent raise and the nurses had me clean three rooms that had Cdiff, but they never told me. I think they're trying to kill me." I answered.
We're both janitors, I worked at a hospital and Broady worked in a Grocery Store. Returning to his play guide I pulled out the DVD and looked at it more closely. "I'm breaking the 4th rule here, but my niece is going to make me watch it with her. So tell me what's happening man?" I asked.
"Oh, well the six main characters: Twilight Sparkle, Fluttershy, Rarity, Applejack, Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash are asked to help with a royal wedding. The wedding is between Princess Mi Amore Cadenza and Captain of the Royal Guard, Shining Armor. He happens to be Twilight's older brother. Princess Mi Amore Cadenza is Princess Celestia’s niece. Princess Celestia is one of the co-rulers of Equestria and Twilight' s teacher.”
"Ah, so that explains why she and her friends are helping with the wedding.” Like cartoons have to make sense I thought. “So, what happens?”
"Well, turns out the bride was replaced with a false one that was trying to take over Equestria. The race that kidnapped the bride are called changelings: insectile, parasites that feed on positive emotions. They can take the shape of any living thing they want." He looked up from the player guide and looked into the air and started to think.
"Like the Skrull invasion of Earth, in the Marvel Universe."
"Huh, now I won't feel so bad. I mean when I watch it with my niece." I nodded, still smiling.
As we walked out into the parking lot, our attention still on other things.
“What is that noise?” asked Brody.
It was some loud blaring kind of noise, and it was steadily growing louder.
“It’s getting really loud,” I said.
The sound quickly grew unbearably loud. I suddenly felt a blazing pain in my back. My vision went white, and then darkness.
I could hear a soft voice calling me in a fading manner. "Help... Please find me..."
I woke up in a dark room, I couldn't make anything out in the darkness. I could smell antiseptic hospital smell. I was in a hospital bed, and I felt strange. I just couldn't put my fingers on it. "Brody." I started but stopped my voice didn't sound right. "Broady, hey Brody, what's up man? You awake?"
My voice still didn't sound right. As I started to move around in the bed my body still didn't feel right either. Fingers, toes, head, back everything was out of place.
"Yah, Tony man I'm up. I think something was wrong with you?"
"What do you mean, I think I'm just..." I trailed off because I couldn't think of a good excuse.
"Why, do I sound like, Tory Spellings. Hold up, I'll turn on some lights. I think I'm next to a light switch." He told me.
I heard a scraping sound on the floor like a dog walking. The light came on and I could see the room better. I saw a new figure in the room, and I could only guess that it was Brody. It had to be Brody. He said he was going to turn on the lights. But it wasn't, it couldn't be my friend Brody. He had changed; the lower half of his body was like a muscular, gray wolf, with a tail and oversized paws and rounded claws. His upper body was dragonic, covered in silver-black scales, his gray chest had four gold zippers that seemed fused to his body. He flexed his new muscular, oversized, clawed hands and long bladed forearms.
He turned his head towards me his new mouth opened up in shock, silver eyes were widen with surprise. "Dude, look what happened to you!" He had a sleek snout that resembled a snapping turtle with a pair of swept back scale covered horns, check ridges and jaw frills.
"You’re one to talk," I shot back at him, pointing. That's when I noticed that I didn't have hands but hooves and coral pink arm/leg thing. "What the...?"
"You look exactly like Princess Mi Amore Cadenza. Like, EVERY exact detail. We just ended up in a bad My Little Pony Fanfic!"
"The pony on the DVD?" I asked and looked at myself the best I could. Hair, long pink hair with streaks of yellow and purple. Coral pink wings with violet tips and an elongated horn, I ran my new hooves, along the length of my horn and wings. As I did I felt a strange almost, existed, warmth start to come over me.
"Dude, just so you know: in My Little Pony your wings and horns are sensitive and are used in pleasuring one's self..."
I stop quickly before I any further unexpected thing could happen. "Thanks man. Don't need any embarrassing issues right now." I chuckled half-heartedly. Maybe later, I'll just file it under useful info. I thought to myself.
"But, I'm thinking if you look like the princess, does that mean?" Broady asked openly as he started to play with his jaw frills.
I raised the bed sheet and looked down at my naughty area. My eyes widen and I shook with a mix of anger and fear as I shouted. "MY BOYS ARE GONE!"
Author's Note
I do not own the right to My Little Pony; Friendship is Magic, it is the property of Hasbro. But I wanted to share this story with you.
Yes it is a HiE fan fiction but my friend challenged me to write it and I'm doing it. I enjoy the challenge anyway.
The Hospital and The Escape
Chapter 2: The Hospital and The Escape
The fourth rule was broken. No. Not just broken; it was broken, burned to ashes, the ashes fed to pigs, the pigs fed to wolves and then the wolves blown up!
Brody was deep in thought, which was normally good. I was somewhere between panic attack and cardiac arrest, so his silence wasn't helping.
“ I mean see what happens when we talk about things we agreed not to!” I shouted at Brody. He flashed me a look of and made the ‘quite down hand motion to me. taking a deep breath I continued with a more quiet tone. “Listen man, a little input would be nice, because I'm kind of freaking out over here! I mean, if I am this princess chick then no way, in hell, am I going to let that armor guy mount me. No way in hell! I'll be this world's first murderer before that happens.”
"OK, first off let me see your flank," Broady said flatly.
"What?" I eyed him a little suspiciously. Naughty images of bad love scenes flashed in my head. "Dude, if this thing turning rated R then you're the first..."
"Hey, get your mind out of the gutter! First of all, Cadence's cutie mark…”
“Cutie mark? That sounds a little… girly, man.”
“Didn’t make up the name. The flank tattoo, is a crystal heart with gold accents. Well, if you have it or not might give me an idea what we're dealing with."
I removed the blanket and showed Brody my flank, I shut my eyes. "I can't look, give me the news."
"It's blank!" Broady exclaimed. "That's useful to know."
"Why?" I asked.
"Well Tony man, you don't have to worried about being mounted by Shining Armor," He said matter of factly. "But there's a multitude of pony universes out there and you being a blank flank crosses many out. Kind of hoping some of the more grim ones are crossed out as well."
“Like what?” I raised an eyebrow.
“You name it, Cupcake’s, Rainbow Factory,” He paused and gave a shiver.
"Not going to ask,” I reassured him. “So, anything that could help us now?" I asked.
"I don't know..."
We heard a knock on the door and froze. Another knock came from the door, followed by a voice from the other end. "Hello?" A muffled voice asked.
Before we could answer the door opened up. An elderly unicorn came in, he was extremely wrinkly and had a long white beard, white tail and a mane-less head. "Aha, good. You’re both awake." The unicorn said with a smile. "I'm Dr. Feather Heart, do not worry I am a doctor. What I did saved your lives. Especially when normal medical science says you were beyond repair. It was my technique that not only saved your life, but it fully restored you."
"Ah, thanks?" I said to him puzzled.
He looked at me puzzled for a moment. "Oh, yes, yes. I guess you want to know how you got here, but I can not oblige because I’m not even sure how you got here. But we are just outside of a town known as Baltimare."
"Yes, doctor thank you for helping us," Brody said "But how bad were we, I mean..."
"Ah, yes you were nothing but two badly burned corpses. I was able to scan your memories from a few hours back and find a viable image," He said to us calmly. "May I add that you’re a lovely bride." He looked at me then to Brody. "Quite a fierce looking dragon. Well, where ever you both were, there were a lot of hairless monkeys." He said with a smile.
Neither of us knew what to say. Nothing seemed right. The doctor took that to mean something good.
"Well, I can't wait to show this technique off at the Canterlot Medical Symposium. Think of all the good could be done with this technique. All the lives that could be saved, all the ponies that would be helped. All the suffering that can be avoid..." The Doctor finished with a smile and a tear in his eyes. He paused for a second. "Ah yes, your names, what are your names"
Thinking fast I said: "I'm Thrashion, Thrashion Riverside," I pointed at Brody. "And that's Spooky Patchwork." Brody looked at me a little annoyed, but nodded in agreement.
"We shall see you again. Until then," He clapped his hooves, and lunch was brought in for us. "Enjoy your lunch." As he left the room, a blue Pegasus nurse, with a light green mane and tail with an old fashion nurse cap brought our lunches.
She smiled at me and gave me a lustful wink. "Here's some food for you and your friend sweetie." She walked away showing me a sexy swing to her walk. I made a cheshire cat grin at her.
“Still got it with the ladies... even though I am one.”
"Even here..." Brody breathed. "Even here you're a chick magnet." He shook his scaly head in disbelief.
"What can I say?" I replied, still smiling.
“Nothing, and give it a rest.”
When they all left we opened our trays, I had a sandwich and a glass of water. I examined the sandwich; it was full of flowers. Brody had a cup of water, with a cup of meal worms and buttered toast.
"Daffodil and daisy sandwich," Brody explained. "It's like a PB&J here." I watched him swallow the meal worms.
"You expect me to eat this?" I asked, wincing.
"You need food still, and you are a pony now." He said before starting on the toast.
"Good point," I satiated and started to eat. "Not bad for what it is."
"Told yah."
I stopped chewing and looked at him. "We're screwed aren't we?"
"Yeah, I couldn't coach you on what to say to him while he was in the room. In the future I think we should... You remember that signing class from college?"
"Yeah! Easy elective my ass! But, yeah I remember some basic stuff."
"That's what you said, not me. I'll use that to coach you in the future. I think we should start calling ourselves by those new names too, I mean even when it's just you and me so we can get use to them."
"No problem, Spooky, man," I agreed with him.
"Why man. Why did you choose Spooky?"
I grinned at him. "All I could think of?"
"Thanks, Thrashion," Spooky replied with a snarl.
We finished our lunch in peace and quiet, though in retrospect we should have been planning. But seriously; it's been crazy already. The door opened again, and it was Doctor Feather Heart, but he wasn't alone. Behind him was a set of white ponies with blue streaked manes and tails in gold armor with blue jewelry on it.
"Guard ponies," Spooky hissed. "We’re screwed!"
"They are right here my good fellows, the good Ms. is no stronger than a foal right now but the dragon? I don't know how strong he is."
"Is he dangerous?" One guard asked.
"Hey! Hey no way in hell is he dangerous, we've been friends for years," I answered.
The guards looked at each other then back at us. "Very well, we were told to bring you," The guard pointed at me. "To Canterlot Castle, one more was not authorized."
"Well, it won't hurt. If they've been friend for years," The second guard added with a shrug. "Come."
The Pegasus nurse came back with a wheel chair. "Come along sweetie, I'll give you a push to the carriage." I smiled back at her. She gave me a seductive wink back.
As we went down on the old fashioned elevator we stopped at the next floor I was surprised what I saw... Bright, welcoming, comforting, and nicely decorated. I was seriously amazed at the hospital as we were lead through the complex. There were garden courtyards on every other floor and common / waiting rooms for family and friends. I was a lot like what you find like in the most modern hospital in our world.
I noticed Spooky stop he twisted his left and then right. "Did you hear that?" He asked. We all stopped and waited for a moment looking for what he was talking about, but nothing came.
"Hear what? I didn’t hear anything." One guard said.
"What do you think you heard?" The second asked him.
"Flapping? Roaring? But it's coming closer, whatever it is." Spooky said.
"Dragons have better hearing than ponies." The nurse commented.
It was funny because when Spooky was a human he had problems hearing. "When you think it’s due?"
"I don't know but..." Before he could finish, something smashed through the ceiling. When the dust finally settled, a monster was before us. It had the head of a lion with the wings of a bat and the tail of a scorpion. Its paws and coat color were a golden-brown. The body was more gorilla like, as it pounded its way forward, smashing into anything that got in it's way.
"Manticore!" One of the guards yelled.
"Get the civilians out of here!" The second guard yelled. "Call in reinforcements!"
The nurse and Doctor Feather Heart quickly backed up and started to lead us and other away from the rampaging manticore. "Down the stairs. Everyone evacuate this floor immediately, help carry any patient that can't get down themselves!" Doctor Feather Heart ordered. The unicorns and regular ponies went to other stairwells and pegasi dove out the windows. The patients were being helped out in any way.
"Lean on me sweetie, I'll help you." The Pegasus nurse told me. I got out of the wheel chair, the nurse allowed me to lean against her.
We made our way to the stairs in a slowly when a beam of energy whizzed past us and destroyed the stairwell that’s when here it coming towards. "Can manticores do that?!" I shouted out.
"None that I've known," The nurse started. "But truthfully you never know. I mean, your friend is a type of dragon I’ve never seen before."
The manticore had muscled it's way past the guards and was now barreling towards us letting out a fearsome roar as it charged. Spooky turned towards the manticore, blades extended from his forearms. "Get Thrashion out of here! I can hold it off!" I watched him charge the manticore, quickly stopping the swinging scorpion tail and parried with a bladed forearm. He landed a fist to his lion face and the two guards joined in the battle.
Cool, I bet that Brody... No, wait Spooky, liking to deal damage instead of taking it. I thought to myself. He never got to be a hero back home he always played it safe but now. Get him, buddy! was my final thought.
The nurse obliged to Spooky’s command and started leading me toward one of the courtyards. "We'll have to glide down. I'll help you but you have to spread your wings for me."
“On the first date,” Bad, bad. No time for laughing.
We were soon out on the court yard and we both stood out on the edge. "OK, sweetie now feel those muscles on your back and lift them up." I did as she said and my new wings opened. Surprisingly, why? "How's that?" I asked.
"Perfect," She lifted her own wings and wrapped a fore arm around my neck. "Now overlap your wing with mine." I followed her orders again. "Now for a leap of faith, sweetie."
We leaped off the edge of the building, I felt the wind beneath my wings and we were caught it. The nurse aimed and steered us safely to the ground. We were quickly surrounded by other attendants and nurses. I was lead to other patients and my nurse went to check on the other patients, leaving me in a wheelchair. Spooky still hadn't come back out, and I was starting getting worried about him, which was strange for me. It was usually the other way around, he usually was worried about something or other; it was in his nature. My Cheshire cat grin was gone as I was watching the evacuation. More guards were showing up, pegasi and unicorns, I was beginning to get a little annoyed.
I let out an aggravated groan. "Well, this sucks donkey..."
"Hey!" A donkey behind me yelled.
I turned around. "Ah, sorry." I muttered sheepishly.
Chapter 3: The Changing Monster
My name was once Brody Thatcher, human, formerly. Now I am Spooky Patchwork: some sort of chimera dragon. My friend, Tony Niles, human, is now a carbon copy of a My Little Pony character. Yeah, now he’s (she’s?) an Alicorn mare he named Thrashion Riverside.
You probably know this already but I just need to bring you up to speed on my end.
Yes, I am a brony, but I like the show and the stories written by the community. I never dreamed of leaving Earth and coming to the Equestria. Quite the contrary. My life wasn't the best, but it was mine! I’m a natural nervous wreck, but right now?
Right now my life has gotten a tad more complicated but, it was pretty cool. Why is that? I am fighting; fighting manticore and I'm holding my own. I knew that dragons were powerful, but this was crazy!
The scorpion tail came down on me, and I watched as blades came out of my forearm. It was amazing, I was holding his shiny black scorpion tail with just my bladed forearm. The manticore's snarled and roared in my face, lifting it's paw to swipe me. I quickly gave it a head butt. That's when the two earth bound guards bucked the manticore.
"Thanks!" I shouted.
"No problem," The first guard replied.
"We just need to hold out until back up comes," The second said.
Lifting its tail, the manticore started to loose beams of green energy at us. We quickly took cover and hoped that our magic barriers would last.
"Manticores can't do that." The first guard said aloud.
"I don't know, I never seen a manticore." The second guard answered.
"I can hold him off!" I broke in. "But I may lose my mind, so if I go off you might have to get me too." No joke, I was going to push this body to its limits. I wanted to fight, I wanted to hurt something.
The two guards looked at me then looked at each other. They nodded and then looked back at me. "Try not to lose yourself," The first guard said to me. "Because we need a little time."
"We'll stop you, if need be." The second finished.
I darted out and made a roar; I unleashed my anger. Anger, why anger? It was always inside of me just waiting to come out. Being the but of people’s jokes, ridiculed at work and forced to put up with the crap all time… I normally would try to take in stride but now. Now? Well Hello Misplaced Aggression!
With great speed I smashed my clawed fist into the manticore's face. Before it got a chance to retaliate I laid another blow. Then another and then another, my fist meeting its lion-like face.
It felt good to have power, being able to push a manticore back. As a human I was a broken mess, my words. I had to take a lot of headaches, lots of crap, and a lot of pain! With each blow I could deal out I felt those old feelings of loss and helplessness bleeding out of me. Don’t get me wrong: I still wanted to be human again. I wanted to go home.
Still, this felt great! I delivered one strike after another after another to my opponent. The manticore broke away from my relentless beatings. He backed up, charged, and jumped into the air, over shooting me. Before I could turn around it tackled me to the ground and started to pound it's paw like fists into my back.
I let out a roar of frustration as I felt something spring from my back. It wasn't painful, rather it felt like my hair was standing on end, but harder and stronger than hair. I didn’t have hair on my back to begin with.
"Grewaowwl!" It roared, rearing back in pain. I was free of its crushing weight.
I made a quick glance over my shoulder and saw black spikes coming out of my back. I turned back to the manticore with a psychotically triumphant "Wrahahwa!"
We were staring each other down. Madness was coming, closer, closer and I finally had the power to change everything. It was a more primal me in this moment a me that I never really got to know. I liked it! The adrenaline rush felt so good, I didn't want it to stop. But I had to stop. There was no choice.
I was stopped by a barrier coming up over the manticore and a magic restraining field was cast on me, lifting me up into the air. My mind slowed down as I looked over at my brutally subdued handiwork. I took a deep breath and let my mind back from the brink. The blades and spikes started to return to their flesh sheaths and my thoughts became clearer. I hung there and went limp as I let out a ragged breath, I was almost back to normal.
“We’ve got them both!” some pony yelled from behind me.
“Keep the manticore confined!” yelled a familiar voice.
“The dragon’s on our side, he’s the one that kept it busy for us,” A second familiar voice called.
I was lowered to the ground and relieved to see a platoon of unicorns. Behind them were the two earthbound guards. “Thanks,” I gasped.
“Don’t mention it. The name’s Green Gable, by the way,” The first earthbound guard said.
“I’m Cross Chop, glad you can help but we want you to go back outside with your friend. We’ll handle this,” The second earthbound guard finished.
I took their hooves and shook them. The moment of calm was broken when the three of us heard one of the unicorns yell: “What in Tartarus is happening!”
We turned around to watch as the manticore began to ‘smolder’. It’s furry body was cracking and glowing with black and green light. The ‘smoldering’ covered its body and soon its form started to morph. Limbs twisted, contorted, bulged, and then constricted. The body started to smoke and burn away as it became an enormous turtle. It reminded me of a Red-eared slider covered in rocky-like armor. When the ‘smoldering’ was done it’s rocky covered body dropped out from the unicorn's bubble. Once it was free it started spitting out bursts of crystal, green goo coming from its sharp beak. It withdrew into its shell and started to spin until it broke through the floor and dropped down.
“How did it…,” Cross Chop stammered.
“Changeling?” I questioned, before they could follow up I added: “But, I thought they were myths,” I finished, covering my tracks quickly.
“Yeah, Changelings are real, but that wasn’t one, couldn’t be. Only high level can changelings can change into other creatures, even then they can only change into ordinary animals. Not some monstrous animal like a manticore. Even then while in pony or animal form they can’t use their changeling abilities while in their true state. Animals are the only thing that can overlap with a mimic’s powers,” Green Gable said to me flatly.
“How do you know Green?”
“Parents are Equestria Game Wardens, remember? But the creature did change. What it changed into was a dragon turtle and that’s the perfect creature to defend against unicorn magic with, their shells can disperse it easily,” Green Gable finished.
“Listen,” Cross Chop started . “Spooky is it? We can’t ask you to continue to fight this thing, it’s just too dangerous. Well have a guard escort you out to your friend.” I nodded to him and a pegasus was called over.
“Thank, I hope we meet again, Cross Chop, Green Gable,” I said as the pegasus led me back to Thrashion.
What I saw bothered me, but I didn’t know what to do with the information. I was led back to Thrashion. What the Hell is going on I thought. That thing had changeling powers, but it was different somehow.
“Ready to get out of her Thrashion?” I asked when we were face to face.
“You know it, Spooky,” My friend replied.
Quietly, the two of us slipped through the crowd and out of sight.
Author's Note
So to those who are following me. What do you think?
I know it's not the best but I am trying.
Thanks for reading.
Chapter 4; The Chase in the City
The guard were still trying to catch whatever it was that was in there. As patients visitors were funneled outside doctors and nurses tried their best to check on everyone and keep them calm.
"Hey Thrashion," he jabbed at my side. "Let’s slip away when nopony notices. Let’s disappear into the woods. "
"Yeah, that sounds good, dude."
We ran, bumping into other ponies mesmerized by the chaos unraveling in the hospital. We made it into the nearby woods and were soon out of sight.
We waved in and out of the sparse woods that were around us until we were near an old-looking church. Spooky and I were hiding in the bushes outside what we agreed must be a monastery because there were monks with robes moving around outside. We watched as the monks were washing and hanging their laundry, mostly brown robes. We observed them in silence.
"What do you think Thrashion?" Spooky finally asked, breaking the silence.
I picked up a loose branch and tested against my other hoof. "Wondering if beating a holy pony would get me into hell?"
"Dude! I mean, do you think that's a good idea? I mean, I can make good disguises from them, but seriously?"
"Once again... beating a holy pony..."
"I can grab them. I'm fast enough," Spooky interjected flatly.
We watched as the monks finished hanging up their robes and went back inside. I watched as Spooky backed up and in a simple breath he sped out of the bushes. He grabbed an armful of robes, pivoted on a wolf-like heel and in another half-second he was back in the bushes.
“Got them,” he said with a smile. “Now I can work on them. I just need to some time.”
I shook my head. “You and your freakish knowledge of sewing.”
Brody was getting scary good with using his new body. I could barely lift my wings, not really fair.
“And don’t forget cooking, we’ll need that later,” Spooky added as he worked.
With the robes Spooky made us both useful disguises. He made a dress that covered my wings and flank as well as a floppy hat that covered my horn. While his disguise was a peso-dog suit, he looked like a living mop type.
The two of use followed road into Baltimare, damn pony pun. The city was definitely crowded and it reminded me a lot of a human city, but with ponies.
“OK, first we need money. Then we need to get out of here. Plus, we can’t go any where near Canterlot, PonyVille, Manehatten, Cloudsdale, or Appleoosa.” Spooky said quietly as we walked along.
“OK, getting out of here is a good idea since they’ll be looking for us here. You said that Canterlot and PonyVille are part of the show, so you're probably right. It’s good idea to stay away from them. But Clowsdale, Manehatten and Appleoosa?”
“Clouds-dale, C-l-o-u-d-s-d-a-l-e.” He corrected me. “Is a cloud city that makes weather for all of Equestria. Flying types are the only ones that can live up there, and I don’t have wings. Before you ask: Manehatten is this world’s New York, and Appleoosa is a small settlement in the desert. Both places are where Applejack's relatives live. We should stay away from area that the main characters and their family may be. We should hide out in areas that were talked about in the show but only in passing. Los Pegasus, or Neigh Orleans would be good. Maybe area where not even talked about at all.”
“We’ve got a plan, but how do we make money? I mean, I look good and I think there are those that would pay for a time with a princess, but I can’t exactly...”
“Dude!” Spooky hissed loudly. “We can sell thing other than what you’re thinking,” he finished, looking at me crossly.
”I was joking, seriously. Like what?” I pressed.
Spooky reached into his costume and then several gems, the size the of a human baby’s head dropped to the ground. “I picked these up on our way here. I thought that they might come in handy. Normally bigger shops hire ‘people’ to collect gems for them, but we can sell these to a smaller shop and get some money that way.”
“Oooh.”
Well we did that, and -- of course -- came away with money in “hand”.
“Gold, solid gold. These things would be worth a small fortune in our world,” I whispered to my friend.
“Funny, since the exchange rate is roughly: one bit to 3.99 in our money. At the same time the gold exchange rate is... Yeah... I don’t know off the top of my head. Of course I also heard that a bit is like 1/18th of a dollar or something like that my not sure. But don’t forget to haggle for the best price.”
As we went to about buying our supplies, well... that’s when things went from bad to worse, sort of. As I finished my last transaction I felt a figure start to rub against me. Surprised I turned slightly to see, to my horror, it was a white unicorn stallion. It was the unicorn Stallion from the DVD cover, Shining something or other!
“Hey, honey what’s with the get up? Is this just one of your little role playing things again?”
“Excuse me,” I began trying to make my voice sound different as I could. “I’m afraid you have the wrong per... pony.”
“Oh, so that’s how it is?” He started in a sultry tone. “Well, Ms. I’m afraid I’ll have to take you in. You seem very suspicious to me. That is unless you convince me otherwise,” He finished with in a playful tone. I could see the lust in his eyes as his voice became more... I don’t even want to start to explain it.
I tried to avoid his eyes. I sprinted towards the door, trying to get away, but he stopped my escape. “Like I said: I don’t know you, so could you please step back or I’ll call the authorities. Too bad for you,” He started in a quitted singsong voice. “I am the authorities. Now why don’t we go somewhere and you can spread 'em.” He finished forcefully.
He started to rubbing up against me again, pushing harder against my flank. He kept pushing harder and harder. The minutes crawled by and I was really starting to panic. My eyes darted around to try and find a way to escape or at least stop him.
Must suppress the urge to kill! I thought to myself. I knew that Spooky wanted to help but he was effectively neutralized. I mean, seriously, he was dressed as a dog. What could he do?
That’s when I saw a purple unicorn mare with a darker purple main with a single magenta stripe running down the middle of it. Next to her was a little purple lizard, thing with green spines on his back. They saw us they were both speechless the lizard pointing a claw at us.
“Shining!” The unicorn shouted.
The white unicorn stopped and turned towards her. “Oh Twily, just hanging out with Cadence here.” He chuckled nervously. “We were just...”
I didn’t want to hear the ending, so I started to back away slowly, but also as fast as I could.
“Shining, she has no cutie mark!” The purple unicorn yelled to the white.
“What?” The white one called back.
“Check her flank, it’s blank!” She shouted back.
Before I could get out of reach. The white unicorn tore my dress away, revealing my blank flank. I quickly shoved the hat into his face and ran. His face changed into one of rage and anger. “Guards!” Two more unicorns with armor came to his side. I continued to gallop away.
“Thrashion, duck!” Spooky shouted as he tore off his disguise.
I ducked as Spooky let out a cone of spiders. The black swarming spiders covered the three unicorns, until they were completely pinned to the ground. The black spiders were biting into their victims and I could see colored auras being drained from them. But I didn’t just stand there, I started to run way.
“Hop on, Thrashion!” Spooky yelled to me.
I leapt onto my friends back and we were off. Looking back I saw a group of gold armored pegasi and unicorns now following us.
“Great, sorry man, the groom…,” I started.
“I know,” He broke in quickly. “But you should know: he’s also the head of the Equestria’s military.”
“Perfect, what else can go wrong?”
“Don’t say that! Shining Armor is good with powerful shield spells. Good enough to cover mount Everest. He could stop us in our tracks.”
“Wonderful,” I said sarcastically
As bolts of energy came spiraling past us, some of the pegasi tried to dive bomb us. Spooky leapt into the air and started to climb up the side of a building. He quickly launched himself off the side, spun around and let loose a voile of tangled white masses. On impact with their target they exploded into a tangling net, binding the pegasi which dropped into the pursuing unicorns.
“What are you Spider-Dragon?” I joked.
“I don’t know, I just followed my new instincts. Kind of cool!” He shouted.
"Well just keep doing it, we're almost out of here!" That’s when I saw a magenta spire skyrocketed into the air. It exploded into a sheet of shimmering, magenta glass. “Let me guess, shield spell,” I groaned.
Spooky nodded. “If we can get out before it closes then we’re home free.”
The glass sheet picked up speed as it began to drop faster, but my bud Spooky was faster still. I bet we were clocking 60 mph. Just as it was about to close us in we slid under it and we were free.
Until...
I felt myself lifted into the air as Spooky was on the ground, hog-tied by magic. That’s when I noticed the purple unicorn come up to us. “Spike, send a letter to my brother. Simply put, we’ve got them.”
“OK Twilight.” He started to write on a roll of paper, when finished he burned the paper to ash with a puff of green flame.
“While we’re waiting, I’ll just check a couple of things out.” She said as she lowered her horn towards us. Magenta light swept both of us, up and down. The light stopped and a confused look crossed her face. “What? That can’t be right,” her face twisted into utter frustration. “That’s not possible.”
I knew it! She could see what we really were. She looked at Spooky. “You're what I thought you were, some sort of dragon. But…,” She looked over at me. Pointing her hoof at me, with a panicked look in her eyes. “You can’t be, you just can’t be!” she started to pace in circles mumbling to herself
“Twily! You got 'em! That’s good.” The white unicorn said, guards in tow.
“Shining, I might be wrong but, that!” She pointed at me. “That’s Cadence, but that’s impossible. I have to be wrong.”
“Have you been wrong before?” Shining looked at me. Still with an angry look on his face. “Solders, close ranks.”
“Halt n’ desist, thy shall proceed any further.” A old English voice boomed
“Back away from them this moment.” Another voice boomed.
“This is a Royal matter, so we need room!” Yet another voice boomed.
That’s when I saw the princess that I looked like. She was accompanied by two other winged unicorns. One was midnight blue color, matching blue eyes and her main and tail that were flowing like the night sky. The last one was white and much larger than the others two, her main and tail where rainbow like her violet eyes were staring at me. All three were adorned with crowns and jewelry.
Royalty... Crap! I thought.
All the ponies were bowing to them. Shining Armor got up and walked up and walked towards the three.
“Cadence, Princess Luna, Princess Celestia. What are you...”
“We said, back away!” Cadence boomed at him. Shining Armor was knocked back by her voice.
“Cadence? You used The Royal Canterlot Voice, on me?” He had a look of shock and surprise. Cadence nodded at him and came closer to me.
“Twilight, keep your magic restraints up while the three of us perform a scanning spell on them,” The white one said.
“Please Auntie Celestia, we have to check,” Cadence pleaded to the white one.
“Sister, the three of us will be enough. At least ninety nine point nine present, The Elders are still needed for complete confirmation,” The midnight blue winged unicorn confirmed.
“I know Luna, but this is more for Cadence’s sake,” The one known as Celestia replied, looking at Cadence.
The midnight-blue one -- Luna -- looked at me and nodded. “Let us try this now.”
The three winged unicorns lowered their horns. An aura of gold, midnight blue and sky blue surrounded their respective horns, then all three produced a beam of light that swept up and down my body.
The three looked at each other. Then Luna and Celestia turned their gaze towards Cadence and nodded.
“Twilight, release your restraints from the other Cadence,” Celestia commanded. Twilight, confused, did what she was told. I was set free and dropped onto the ground.
Cadence slowly walked over to me. She moved so very slowly, looking up at me and down my form. I could tell she was fighting back tears, but I could see tears start from the corners of her eyes. I wanted to run, but Spooky was still bound up and I couldn’t leave him. He would have wanted me to, but I couldn’t. It seemed to take forever for her to come up to me, I'm guessing time for her was moving slowly, but it was normal for me.
Cadence was so close now, she raised a foreleg up and pulled me close to her, and she rested her head against my neck. I could feel tears touch my fur. Freaky, by the way. “I can’t believe this...” She started, her voice was trembling. “My beloved sister, you’ve come back to us.”
With a look of shock on my face I stammered. “Say-a-who’s-a-what Now?! ”
Chapter 5: Pee Break
Our first encounter with the cast didn’t not go too well.
My friend was just told he was being mistaken for a missing Princess. Like we would correct them on this, it could end badly. Dissection, imprisonment, medical experimentation, you name it. You might be thinking; That’s not the world of My Little Pony! It’s a world of Love and Tolerance. That’s on the TV show, this real life... so to speak. There is no telling the difference between the two. I mean the show’s narrow focus was for kids, and that does not mean this is a kids world. Any chance we could die or get killed is not what I want for either of us.
You may expect my friend to at least act surprised, I would have at least tried to, he did not. I watched my friend from my magenta bounded prison and I heard him stammer. Thrashion blinked several times.
"Yes, I'm guessing you are in a state of disbelief. Your medical state and experience speaks volumes," Cadence sighed happily, looking at him. I saw him shift uncomfortably. "What's wrong?"
"Can I go to the bathroom?" he asked, his cheshire cat grin crossing his face.
This time Cadence blinked. "Oh, yes, I guess you can." she chuckled and turned to Twilight.
Twilight chuckled back. "I'll take her." She turned to her number one assistant. "Spike stay here with my brother. Come this way... Thrashion, is it?" The two walked off. He must have had to go, he was really struggling.
I turned to my captors, the purple dragon's big green eyes were looking me up and down them they shifted to Shining Armor. "So, he's a dragon? I mean he was breathing spiders and shooting wads of sticky stuff. Plus half of his body looks like some sort of wolf thing."
"Well, that's what Twily's scanning spell said. My biggest problem is what should we do with him?" Shining pointed at me, as if the answer would come to out of the air.
"Nothing, Captain Shining Armor," Celestia told him. "Your own guards said he risked his life keeping a manticore in check while the hospital was being evacuated. He only attacked you after you tried to molest his friend." She flashed him a mischievous smirk.
"I didn't..." His face started turning bright red.
"Oh Shining, it's OK you thought it was me." Cadence fluttered her eyelashes at him and then started to nuzzle her husband.
Celestia gave them a bright smile. "And I found out that these two are good friends. If some attempted to hurt your friend wouldn’t you try and help them? In the end, no harm done, right?"
"Beside roll play is Tuesday night Shining, you know I wouldn't change that." She finished with a giggle.
"I've never really seen a dragon like him before." Shining commented.
"Yeah, trust me I've seen dragons and there has been nothing like him," Spike added point his claw... finger… thing at me.
"Yes, they're many dragon types that you've never seen before. Most dragons of Equestria have a loose society, they are lazy and have limited intelligence..." Luna turned to Spike. "As we can tell."
"Well most dragons can fly, have armored body parts for smashing. I don't have any of those things, but most do. I can breath fire, eat gems, cannon ball into lava." Spike shrugged and looked down at his feet.
"In truth the dragons of Equestria are all you've ever seen, but there were and are more types then ye could imagine. This is the first of type of its kind to be in Equestria," Princess Luna explained.
That's when I saw an off white, spiky vine or root burrow out of the ground. Before I could say anything it wrapped around Cadence's back leg and yanked her back.
"Cadi!" Shining Armor shouted, with his attention divided his shield dropped from around me.
I was on the ground. Like a dog, I felt a new instinct to bolt after Cadence I felt something land on my back. I glanced back. "You're not getting away," Spike shouted as he gripped my furry waist.
"Wouldn't dream of it. Just following my instincts," I told him. I didn't like leaving my friend, but my new instincts were telling me to pursue. Something didn't feel right about this.
That's when the two of us saw Cadence suspended in the air wrapped by green, snake-like branches. It was a two story flower, the stem was like an enormous green tree trunk, blooming tent-like leaves that shrouded the ground easily. Red petals the made up a twisted main with two petals that had eyes attached to them. In the absolute center of the bloom was a cluster of round sharp teeth. I slid to a halt and took the sight of the mammoth flower in.
"No way that's a Poisonous Dahlia!" I tried to glance at the passenger on my back.
"A what?" I shouted.
"A Poisonous Dahlia is a monstrous flower that lives in lands outside of Equestria. They can grow here, but they can't get this big because they have to get real-real-real-old. That means someone would have to have seen it since before now." I was looking at him a little surprised that he sound so much like his surrogate mother.
"Uh, well, ha," he stammered and looked around a little I think ashamed. "I live in a library, and some times I read. When I get really bored and I'm not busy, Not that I have much of either with Twilight. " His voice became louder.
"That's a great start, is there anything else you know? We can use all the help we can get."
His look changed. "Uhm, they are meat eaters, but they don't eat ponies. Um, they can see colors not just basic."
"Like pink?"
"Yeah, hey," He made a smug smile. "But since it's a plant you can just..."
"I can't burn, remember,” I cut him off pausing for a moment. “But you can . I'll get you where you can do some damage." I bolted to the flower’s base and made my way up it's stalk. Just like when I was carrying my friend I could "Hear" my body speak to me.
Run - faster, faster!
Climb - higher, higher!
Sever - cut, cut the branches!
Save her! - I was reveling in my new strength.
It felt like I could always do it; it felt right. My claws clung to the side of the flower, sinking in deeper with every inch I climbed. Blades extended form my forearms, as I launched myself into the air I sliced through the branch that was holding Cadence. The plant screeched in pain. It started to swat at me with another enormous branch but I dodged it. As she fell to the ground I aimed my mouth at the down ground and let out another huge glob of silk giving her a safe landing spot. Pushing off the side and into the air, I swirled around, faced the plant and shouted. "Burn it! Burn it down little dude!"
"Twilight's is going to be mad at me for destroying a good specimen." I heard him take a deep breath. With a belching sound I saw a swirling, green, fire erupt from just above me, and it engulfed the plant quickly. The plant twisted and screeched in pain. I gave a quick smile as I touched down on the ground.
I freed Cadence from the silk wad and turned back to the Poisonous Dahlia. We watched as the plant twisted and that's when I noticed the smoldering green effect again. Two things were happening quickly; One, Spike's flame was being doused. Two, the plant was shrinking. It kept shrinking until it left a gaping hole in the ground.
"Looks like you just saved the day, little guy," I commented.
"Yeah... I'm awesome I just wish..." He looked at his feet.
"Something wrong?"
"I wish Rarity could have seen that." He groused. He took a more confident pose and smiled again. "I wish she could have seen me look like a hero!"
Cadence chucked. “Don’t worry Spike I’m sure you can tell her how you saved me when you get back to Ponyville.”
I patted him on his shoulder. I looked at the hole where the flower had been. "Ah, what ever little dude. I'm just glad everything turned out OK. Still, that thing was a predator, right? That was thing good at hunting, but what was it hunting? Was it after Thrashion?"
"That would be safe to assume," Celestia said as she touched down, her co-rulers and the unicorn guards in tow.
"Yes, it would be good to get back to the castle as soon as possible," Luna added.
"What should we do with him?" Shining Armor said, pointing at me.
"Hey, he just saved Cadence and he didn't mean any harm," Spike argued.
"While it is true that he just saved your wife and he did not mean any harm… Captain Shining Armor if you feel safer, then you my restrain him. He did break out of your magic restraints." Celestia finished.
Shining Armor looked over at two other guards. "You heard the Princess, muzzle him!" The two guards nodded and produced chains and other restraints.
"Oh, Pony Feathers," I cussed.
Chapter 6; Meet the Grandparents
Pony bathrooms are weird!
We were ushered into a carriage. Spooky was now restrained by magically enhanced chains, shackles and a muzzle.
Me? I had a ring on my horn to stop my magic -- not like I could use it -- as well as a paper thin chain tied around my midsection holding my wings shut.
On one side were the three Princesses, Twilight and Shining Armor. On the other side was me, Spooky and the purple lizard, well... dragon, Spike. We were a little unbalanced, but I guess they wanted to keep an eye one us.
Spike was looking Spooky up and down. “So you're a dragon?”
Spooky nodded.
“So... are you a grown up dragon?” Spike asked.
Spooky nodded.
“Did the not-Cadence hatch you?”
Spooky shook his head.
I cut in. “My name is Thrashion,” I spoke calmly like I was talking to one of my nephews or nieces. “Little guy, I think he’ll be able to answer you when the muzzle is off. Spooky’s going to be happy answer your question. But could you wait until he does get the muzzle off?”
“Well OK. I guess you're right,” Spike said as he shook his head, a little disappointed.
The one known as Luna focused on me as she pulled out a quill and pad. "Ye must have questions, but I plead with thee to answer ours first."
I nodded. "Ah, no problem, but call me Thrashion. Other then that, shoot." Damn it!
"First, do you know what you are?" Twilight asked.
"Ah, what am I? Winged unicorn?" I watched as she started to write down something. Screwed!
"Secondly, where were you born and where do you live?" Luna looked up at us. "Feel free to answer for your dragon too," she finished.
"Well, we were both born in a place called North Hampton. I live in a town called Goshen and my friend lives in small town known as Spider's Gate," I paused. "Hey, do you know what's happened to us? One moment, we we're at the mall then next moment I'm sporting these… appendages," I added, pointing to my new wings and horn.
Luna, Celestia and Twilight tilted their heads at a confused angle. Luna was the first to recover: "Ye was not always a winged unicorn?" She asked, but her tone seemed funny. "And what of this... mall, that ye speak of?"
"They are common where we come from. They are like an indoor market place. As for the second question, no, I was a normal pony," I answered. Do they even use that term?
"Ah, brilliant if I may say,” Twilight said. “A market place indoors, Applejack would like that. She hates standing out in the rain with her apple cart. But she is a bit stubborn...”
“A few more questions before I answer your questions. Next, what is your preference when it comes to a companion or a potential mate?" Luna asked.
I looked confused. "What do you mean?"
“I believe auntie Luna’s asking what your sexual preferences,” Cadence supplemented, coming to my rescue.
"Oh, chicks not dicks. So why do you need to know that?"
"He likes mares. And for your question, Auntie has her reasons," Cadence clarified again.
"Do you have any previous medical conditions?" Celestia asked, her magenta eye now examining me.
I exhaled. "I have. I’ve got it under control. I'm also nearsighted. As for Spooky, none that I'm aware of," Luna nodded and continued to write again.
"Your family, what was it like?" Twilight asked.
"Why would you asked that?" I snapped at them angrily.
"No offense meant, but were you loved?" Celestia asked.
"Hell yeah! Where do you get off..." I started.
"Curiosity. Nothing more," Celestia added defensively. "How many are in your family?"
"Seven other siblings, plus Mom and Dad," I answered. "Before you ask, we get along well, and I was the youngest! Spooky has a mother, father and a younger brother. His family is good, but it’s complicated for me to explain his family dynamic. He should do it."
Cadence smiled at me and put a hoof in front of her mouth. “Oh, I can’t even hold it in any more. Auntie, can I tell her?”
“Then why don’t you,” Luna snickered.
“Thrashion, you are not a simple “winged unicorn”, you are an alicorn, a near immortal being,” Cadence finished with a chuckle.
I was floored. Near immortal? I mean, my expression on my face must have been priceless, but I quickly remembered. I am a copy... but exact? “What is an alicorn? I mean if Spooky’s mouth was free he would know something I’m sure of it,” I glanced at his hands for a signal. “I mean, could you tell me a little more?” Mother of… I mentally swore.
"I believe we have what I want for now,” Celestia said signaling the others to stop the question and answer session. I shrugged in response.
In no time a slight bump indicated that we had stopped and we must be in this... Canterlot place. I feasted my eyes on the amazing city. It was a fixed to the side of a mountain; the city was a beautiful collage of polished stones, fine sculptured roads, and towering buildings. From my vantage point I could see an expansive region. All different types of cities, towns and environments: I could see it all. The city itself was fused with an enormous castle.
It was like New York City and Washington D.C., all stuffed inside an old castle on top of Mt. Everest. We landed on a small runway and stepped out of the carriage.
“This way please,” Shining Armor said. “Both of you.”
Spike sat on Twilight’s back.
We were lead into an enormous polished hall with arching tapestries and stained glass windows. The room we were left in was just an enormous parlor with a small bookcase in one side of the room, plus a big bay window with a sofa with chairs and a table next to it.
While Spooky went to the bookshelf, I was looking at our new surroundings. It was a pretty nice room. Spooky scanned the titles before taking one down and sitting on the sofa.
That was when my attention was drawn to the center of the room. On a covered pedestal was a delicately polished violin. It didn’t just shine; it gleamed like a gem. It was amazing in both looks and make. Trust me, I bet that someone would paid a mint for it. It was old, and a true piece of art.
I let out a loud whistle. I looked at the guards that were watching us. Both of them were white unicorn stallions, bearing gold armor with blue accents. Both were facing forward, eyes locked.
“Hey,” I called, grabbing their attention. They both looked at me. “Is it OK if I use that violin? Playing music really calms me down, I’m a little nervous.”
The guards looked at each other, then back at me. One finally spoke to me. “OK.” Was his simple answer.
I removed the cover and I picked up the violin. It was only moments before I tuned it up and got it back to proper playing order.
I pulled the bow back and started to play. I didn’t know what to play, so I just let my feelings play the notes. I closed my eyes and became lost in the music: high and low, fast and slow. I really didn’t want to stop. I kept my eyes shut the whole time.
I was free, the music pulling me out of the bars of reality and sending me flying away to another world. I floated on the notes, my hooves guiding the instrument. I was a drop in the ocean, flowing smoothly from shore to shore. I was a cloud, floating gracefully in the wind.
Then, I gently eased myself to the ground, the last bittersweet notes slowly removing me from my dream land. I stopped and opened my eyes. Spooky was still reading but the guards had an entirely different reaction. Their eyes were wide, mouths agape. Just behind them were the royal sisters, the royal couple and Twilight with Spike.
The sister’s eyes were closed with their heads hung low, like they were sleeping.
Shining Armor and Cadence were leaning against each other, wide smiles on their faces, their eyes glossy and dreamy.
Spike was unaffected like Spooky. Twilight, well, she got the worst of it. At least compared to the rest of them. Twilight was sitting on the floor, her eyes were wide with a glazed - sparkle-y look to them. Her lower lip quivered and that’s when I saw a pool of liquid between her haunches.
Spike snapped his clawed fingers and Spooky cleared his throat. The rest snapped out of whatever trance they were in.
Celestia cleared her throat. “I believe that Lavender Rhapsody's Melodic 1308 has found its new owner, Congratulations.” She paused for a moment. “With that I must introduce you to The Elder Alicorn; Lord Tarot, The Clock Keeper.” A white Alicorn with large wings -- much larger than any of the other Alicorns in the room -- and a small and cracked horn, walked into the room. He had a long unkempt, off-white mane and tail. His eyes were a milky white color, and he was clad in violet and gold armor with a clock embedded in its center. Celestia continued her introductions: “And The Elder Alicorn; Lady Satarel, Watcher of the Green Library.”
I couldn't see another Alicorn.
Shining Armor screamed in surprise as a new Alicorn popped into view just behind him. She was bright green with an extremely curly, bright neon green mane and tail, her horn was larger than the other Alicorn in the room, but she had smaller wings. A pair of large round glasses accentuated her violet eyes. She was clad in a simple sundress.
“Oh, hello there stud,” she said to Shining Armor. “Did you miss me?”
“Like hoof rot!” he yelled, starting to hide behind Cadence.
“Ooh, don’t be like that. I’m quite sure that I can make you happy, at least for one night,” she laughed perniciously and started to step toward him.
“Cadence!” Shining Armor shouted in object terror.
Cadence came to her husband’s aid. “Grandma, we're married now. So could you please try not to molest Shining Armor any more,” she said firmly.
“Wah, why not? Oh, well I guess I’ll take care of something else.” She trotted over to Twilight and smiled mischievously at her. “Let me just clean up something.” Satarel knelt down and started to lick up the liquid on the floor. Her smiled widen as she moved closer to Twilight and buried her muzzle deep into Twilight’s privates. Twilight seemed to be transfixed, stunned, about what was happening. She started to shudder and her breathing became heavy.
“Umhur!” The older white alicorn, Tarot, cleared his throat. “Forgive my dear Satarel. You see, our powerful magic has a... counter to it. A curse if you will, when she is away from her library she becomes overly pernicious. Same for me, while I am away from my Clock Tower.” He let out a sigh. “Every hour I’m away, it brings those I love an hour closer to grave danger. It’s quite unfair if you ask me.”
“Wait how can you be more powerful than Sun and Moon? Or even Love? I mean Clock Keeper, Watcher Of the Green Library?” Twilight said, now no longer stunned, but keeping a close eye on the green Alicorn mare.
“Twilight, The Elder Alicorns have great magic that is linked to physical constructs. For example: Luna and I have the sun and moon. But they have physical buildings, Tarot has a great clock tower, like fortress, that keeps record of time of all things, from birth to death. Satarel on the other hoof has a massive Library-like forest containing not only any book that has or will ever be written, but also the sum of all living things’ experiences and thoughts,” Celestia answered.
“Yes, we have no such curse because our physical connects, the Sun and Moon already existed, we were just connected to them. That is why we have no such curse because they are naturally opposite and they clash,” Luna answered. “But Cadence has no such restrictions at all because her power is love. We do not yet know what Thrashion’s ability is,” Luna concluded.
“What is your verdict Grandma and Grandpa?” Cadence asked.
“Easy. Easy Cadence,” Shining Armor said.
“Yes, Cadence dear, we have to talk to them and with that...” Satarel started.
“Could you please leave us alone? We need to talk to them privately,” Tarot finished.
Celestia nodded and beckoned the others to follow her out.
The Elder Alicorns nodded to each other.
“We know you're not from here, this world,” Tartot began
“Don’t worry boys, we won’t spill the beans on you. Just hear us out,” Satarel continued.
“So what’s going to happen to us?” I asked.
“Well, that’s up to you,” Tarot began.
“You see, we’re not really sure why this happened. If you hadn’t run away from the hospital, we could have met you earlier and cleared a lot up for you,” Satarel finished.
“You see we’re trying to bring back Cadence's sister, Princess Mi Gurrero Sueño. We were trying to retrieve her from where ever she was but...” Tarot trailed off.
“We grabbed you and your friend instead. Which brings us to here: we need your help to fix this situation,” Satarel said.
I looked at them a little skeptically. “Really? What can I do?”
Spooky nodded to my sentiment. I was glad to have him in my corner.
“We need both of your decisions so...” Satarel lowered her horn. The muzzle and leg restraints on Spooky disappeared. “You see, Cadence’s power and talent is Love. The pillars of that power is family and friends. If her mind and or heart were to fracture or, heaven forbid, break, her powers would follow.”
“Not good, I’m betting.” I shrugged, or at least tried.
“Wouldn’t that happen if Twilight, Shining Armor or any other mortal family dies?” Spooky asked.
“You would be right,” Tarot stated. “But being an alicorn, she has been raised to expect and overcome such things. We are well aware you know what happened with Cadence's wedding.'
'Well, because of Chrysalis, the Queen of Changelings, Cadence suffered great mental and spiritual strain. We were hoping that by bringing her long-lost sister back to her, so we could seal up the damage that was caused.”
"Makes sense," Spooky said. "I mean she almost lost the love of her life. Now when everything seems to be dark..." He paused for dramatic effect and lifted a claw-hand up. "Suddenly the sister she thought she lost comes back. She needs to be the big sister and help her little sister out. To do that she has to overcome her own demons. Clever."
“The tale of Princess Sueno begins when they were just foals, Cadence’s sister was born sickly, with a heart condition,” Satarel started.
“I’ve got one of those!” I interrupted.
Tarot and Satarel looked at each other with a strange look that I couldn't quite place. “Yes! A strange coincidence." He turned back to us. "Well, as I was saying: though she was incurably ill, Cadence tried to help her sister. It was her first taste of love, the love of a sister. It was also the first time she used her magic. She used her magic to try and aid her sister, to ease the pain and discomfort. The sisters were always together and were very close. Cadence’s powers grew quickly." The both gave a heavy sigh. "With anything good, something bad must come too."
"A group of unknown and unscrupulous individuals wanted to use the baby alicorns for their own means and they managed to get Princess Sueno while she was at the hospital. They tried to use a powerful transportation spell to send her to their stronghold, but it failed and she didn’t end up in the intended location. In fact, she disappeared completely.”
Spooky played with his jaw frills again. “And you were trying to get her back but somehow you got used, am I right? Why now?"
“Spell Mutation, but that’s not important right now,” Tarot said.
"Well did you do this to us?" I asked. "I mean we should be humans right, not a pony and a dragon. In some respects I'm not arguing, but in the principle of the matter..."
“Correct, we were trying to bring her back but...” Satarel said. She looked at me, and then continued. “You ended up here as a perfect double of Sueno. and you?" She stopped and turned her gaze to Spooky. "We have no idea what happened with you. Simply put, we could use your help. Just pretend to be Princess Sueno while Tarot and I look for the real one.”
I picked up the violin again and started to play a little. “You got me. Why do you need the real one? She’ll just cause more problems, seeing as I’m a fake and junk.”
“You were pulled from your own world and if you are not properly returned, or if some sort of fix is not found, it could tear the fabric of existence to ribbons. Much as Starswirl has done in the past...”
“Oh, hush about that honey, it’s over and done with.”
“They have a good point. Why risk all known existence? Besides they can help us out and make sure that this charade goes off without a hitch. Besides you have seven brothers and sisters plus a bunch of nephews and nieces,” Spooky pointed out.
Damn! He’s right I would do anything to help them. Stupid protective nature I cursed to myself. I lowered my head and put the violin down. “Alright, I know man, but how can I lie to her?”
“She needs her sister.” Spooky shrugged. “Besides it’s just until we find her real sister, right?”
“We?” both of the Elders questioned .
“Yes we’re helping,” Spooky said to them.
“Yes, we are more than willing let you help us out and we will inform you on any new developments. Now please step forward,” Tarot added.
We did so and the two alicorns lowered their horns to us and let a burst of magic.
“We have just modified you both,” Satarel started. “Mostly to prevent you from saying or doing the wrong thing. Now you can speak about your life. But anything that could expose you as other worldly beings, you will be seen as beings of this world. When you are alone or with us Elder Alicorns you can speak freely. Other than that everything else is sealed away.”
“Now, are you ready to go out and meet your new family?” Tarot asked.
“Well, I guess so,” I said with a shrug. I cast a glance at Spooky. “You ready for this?”
“Yeah, lets do this,” Spooky said with a clawed fist in the air. This was the most calm and confident I’ve ever seen him. It was reassuring for me.
The Elder Alicorns led us out of the room. “Celestia, Luna, Cadence,” Tarot started.
“We must be going, but our final verdict is clear,” Satarel continued.
Then, simultaneously: “We welcome our granddaughter back home.”
That’s when Cadence pushed her way to me and embraced me in a hug again. “I knew it was you. Don’t worry I’ll help you out the best I can, my beloved sister. We can worry about everything tomorrow."
I made a Cheshire cat grin. “Ah... thanks?” I said questioningly.
That's when I heard a faint voice reach my ear. "Thank You ..."
Introduction
Chapter 7; Introduction
Spooky
After the Elder Alicorn left, Thrashion was being pony-handled by Cadence. The long day had took its toll on all of us. Especially Shining Armor. Apparently my Spider Breath-thing had an unforeseen effect on the poor guy. Despite the turn of events, Celestia insisted that we all have dinner together, so she left in order to make the proper preparations.
As for me? I was thirsty, so I asked for some water, prompting Spike to take me on a journey through the servant’s passages to find some. The servant passages reminded me of the secret passages in the House of Seven Gables . I remember visiting there on a class field trip... The passages in the house were narrow made of brick and mortar. Back when the House of Seven Gables was built, the people who built the passages had an easier time passing through them. But now, in more modern times, we had to squeeze through. During the tour the biggest jock in school got himself stuck. Needless to say, the staff and chaperones spent the rest of the time on the trip trying to get him out. They were afraid that they would have to damage the walls to free him. Long story short lets just say he lost a good shirt and the town lost a lot of butter and oil.
That how I feel now. A pony or Spike, in his current state, could slip right through these narrow winding hallways. But my dragon-esque frame was having a hard time slipping through without some tricky maneuvering.
“So, where are we heading? I just need some water,” I asked.
“Yeah. It’s this way to the kitchen. This is the most direct route and we’ll end up somewhere near the barracks. I’ve used this passage tons of times .”
I smiled at him. “I’ll take your word for it.”
Seeing everything in real life was… beyond cool! My inner sociologist was going nuts. Still, if it wasn’t for my more logical side taking hold of my brain, I probably would go nuts. Yes, I am a brony, but I never wanted to go to Equestria.
I don't really want to explain why, but I promise I will later.
Still there were plenty that would give their left nut for this. I cracked a slightly amused smile.
“Whatcha smiling about?” Spike asked.
I ad-libbed something in a flash. “Oh, I find it funny that Thrashion and I are both naked right now.”
“So? Everypony’s naked around here,” he paused. “Correction. Everypony’s naked around here MOST of the time.”
“Well where we come from we wear clothes... most of the time.”
“Dragons and ponies wear clothes?”
“Yeah, the humans who also live where Thrashion and I live have to wear clothes because of the environment and society standards. So to fit in with them, we do too. It’s kind of an inside joke Thrashion and I have: us running around nude and all.”
“Rarity would love that place. She could make a lot of money from a place that has to wear clothes all the time,” Spike commented, a dreamy look in his eyes.
“So who is Rarity?” I asked.I hoped to find out about the mares before we were introduced to them, which we would be eventually. That’s how it works in stories like this, the human(s) get introduced to the main 6 sooner or later
“She is only the most beautiful, talented, beautiful, refined, beautiful, unicorn there is!”.
“You have a crush on her?” I asked Spike. That when things got quiet; I didn’t want to answer. “So, what’s your hoard like?” Spike questioned, mercifully changing the subject.
“A hoard? Most of the time that’s considered a bad thing where I come from. Most ponies just have a collection of some sort.”
“I bet that holds down on the greed growth,” Spike commented.
“Anger is what triggers our growth. Well at least when it comes to my family and I,” I said, trailing off.
Spike paused and looked at me. I did everything I could to not crash into him.
“Really?” He looked at me, concerned.
“I have it under control,” I said. “Hmm. How about I help you and you help me.” I smiled at him. “Deal?”
“Deal,” Spike said, extending his claw-hand. I took it and shook it. “It’s a part of my Dragon code to help a friend.”
“Well my code is simple: I make no excuses, my actions are my voice.
I have no enemies, my opponents are my teachers.
I need no deceitful tricks, my character is my sword.
I think not of quitting, my courage in my secret weapon.
I know not of defeat, my experience becomes my strength.”
Spike looked at me. “So I’m guessing you are some sort of writer?” he ventured.
I nodded.
“That’s cool and all, but kind of strange,” Spike replied. “But I guess we all need a code
to live by.”
We came near the exit of the service corridors, and just like Spike said it was the guard’s barracks.
A familiar whining voice sounded from the barracks. “Please, let us in! We have to see the Princesses! It’s about my patients; I must see Ms. Riverside and Mr. Patchwork! I didn’t get to finish any of my scans on them.”
“Dr. Feather Heart, we appreciate your hard work, but they are fine,” A guard told him. “You and your nurse can go back to Baltimare.”
“But they were no more than corpses when I found them,” The doctor implored. “I need to make sure that they are OK, and that’s why I brought Nurse Wonder Heart with me. She’s been around them and in close contact with Ms. Riverside,” He urged.
“Let him stay!” a guard shouted. “The spiders from that dragon has some sort of mana burn venom.”
Spike looked at me and raised an eyebrow upon hearing that.
I shrugged. “I didn’t know they could do that...?”
“And he has retractable blades and spikes,” another guard added.
Spike motioned for us to go out into the opening. We walked out into the barracks, gaining the guard’s attention.
Spike was greeted with simple phrases like: “Hey, Spike.”, “Little guy”,”How’s it going little guy?” and “Hey! It’s the Captain's little brother.”
I was met with awkward silence.
“I’m guessing they don’t like me much,” I huffed.
“Well, you did attack them with sticky spider web wads and spider.”
“Good point.”
The doctor caught sight of me and ran over with Nurse Wonder Heart in tow. “Ah. Mr. Patchwork. How are you feeling?”
Before I could answer he quickly summoned a clipboard and pen in his magic aura. He started to scan my body. “Interesting. You do have spiders that are living in your body and you can control your osteoblast. You don’t have retractable spikes or blades, but you can have your body grow and deconstruct them at will. How is that so? How did I not see that when I was fixing you? Your breath weapon, how does it work?”
“My spiders and I share a bond. As for the bones, it’s on my father’s side of the family, but his are heavier. Now if you excuse me I need some water. ”
Yes. A lie, but we needed a back story anyway. I really was thirsty, but he continued to try and examine me.
“Does it run in the family?”
“Yes. My father used them to create snow plows and other tools he uses for his job, as the Road Boss; he keeps the roads of our home maintained,” I answered.
The doctor continued to poke and prod, much to the amusement of the guards. Spike was able to come to my rescue, thank God. “Listen, Doctor, could you ease up on him for a moment? He needs to get some water, that’s why he came down here.”
“Oh,” he made some space. “I guess I could.”
“Good,” Spike said happily. “Come on Spooky.” He waved me forward eventually leading me to the kitchen. “Thanks, Spike,” I told him once we were out of earshot.
“Don’t mention it. I’m stoked that you're going to meet the Head Chef Le Grand. He is so awesome.”
The kitchen was enormous and full of activity. None of the ponies seemed to notice that we came in. It was all you could ask for in a kitchen; hundreds of ponies dressed in kitchen attire were doing all sorts of jobs to make sure that their dishes were done. I could only guess that the kitchen fed any and every noble in the castle and that the biggest meals were for the princesses. I was half expecting to be kicked out, but there were a small set of tables off in the corner .
“Spike!” A voice called out. It belonged to a large griffin, dressed in a chef’s uniform and a tall hat. He reminded me of a recolored Guston, his eagle half was black while his lion half was white. “How is my favorite dragon doing? I have your favorite gem-jam cake ready for you.” He then took notice of me. “ I see you have a new dragon friend with you! I can’t wait to make a meal for him.”
“Hey Le Grand, great to see you,” Spike replied, smiling. He pointed his clawed thumb towards me. “This is Spooky Patchwork. He’s a different kind of dragon than I am.” Spike faced me. “This is Head Chef Le Grand, he loves to cook for any creature and he likes challenges. I’m guessing you are one, considering.”
“I see. A carnivore, I presume?” he asked, rubbing his talons together.
“Omnivore and insectivore,” I corrected him.
“Spike, are you eating with the Royals and Twilight? If so, I’ll just add your cake to your dinner plate,” Le Grand said.
Spike nodded. “Yeah. We just came down for some water. Is that OK?”
“That is fine. I’ll show him the spring so that he can come and get a drink anytime.” Le Grand motioned for us to follow. “The Spring is where you can take your fill of water. It is what we call a “Spirit Spring”. The Princesses themselves use it in their food and drinks.”
We were led to the back of the kitchen where there was a stone pool, water bubbling up from it and snaking down a slightly jagged stone structure. There was a portrait that hung just above the spring.
The portrait was that of an alicorn dressed in cloth armor, a silver breastplate over his barrel and a morion on his head. He was standing on a rock in a defiant pose holding a platinum spear with an adamant tip. The alicorn was aqua green in color with a short mane, a small beard, and a curled, handle bar mustache, all of which were a majestic navy blue, with stripes of light blue running through the mane. His eyes were a stunning and harsh violet.
Le Grand gave me a tin cup. “Drink up, my friend.”
I dipped the cup in the spring and brought it to my mouth. The cool water filled and relieved my parched mouth. I dipped the cup several more times until my dry throat was quenched. I gave a contented “ahh” and looked over at the portrait.
I pointed up at it. “So who is this?”
***
Thrashion
Spooky had gone with Spike for some water, lucky bastard! Cadance had me in a pony-style kung fu death grip, holding me close to her side with her wing.
“Let me introduce you to Prince Baal,” Cadence said with a wide smile on her face. “Your biological father. Next to him is your biological mother, Kelpie. She was named that because she resembled one at birth. Some even say that she had the blood one of the sea born pony tribes.” She paused as if she was trying to think of what to say. “That was never really proven or disproven.”.
We were in front of a portrait of a pony that looked like the princess. The stallion was smiling and holding a spear. Next to him was a mare, Her fur was a sea foam green, her mane was long , wavy, and dark green. It would’ve looked exactly like kelp, if it hadn’t been for the strip of pink in it. She was taller and slightly more shapely than other mares I’ve seen and she had a smile on her face. Her kind blue eyes seemed to shine. In the background it looked like they were in front of a cottage from Scotland.
“Our brother saved her and brought her to a new home, a small village. They welcomed Kelpie into their home, and she became a great resource to that village. Our brother visited her many times and they fell in love. In truth, there was quite the uproar when he married a “common born mare”.”
Celestia, unnoticed by either of us, broke into the conversation. Luna followed close behind her. “But that’s our brother for you, he never cared for the noble stuffshirs as he called them. ‘Nobility is meant for those who act like it ’ is what he would always say.”
“Our brother was the first Captain of the Royal Guard,” Luna added. “He would not accept the throne. Instead he let my sister and I have it, but he would protect us with his construct, The Spear Borealis.
“He was on patrol when he met her. The village that she had grown up in -- a land locked farming settlement -- had fallen on hard times and blamed her for it. They tried to execute her for being a witch or something like that. The village our brother took her to was on the seaside, where her talent was most useful. Her talent was something to do with the sea, wasn’t it?” Celestia questioned her sister.
“If he’s like you, then where is he?” I asked. “I don’t think Kelpie is immortal…” I started to say, but I stopped myself.
“He died protecting Equestria form a grave threat,” Candace said.
“Yes. After his death Luna and I could not bear to see the guards dressed like him, so we changed the uniforms,” Celestia added.
“The grave threat was a beast of evil, destructive, chaos. Lotan. “ Luan said. “Nothing like Discord. Although he may have caused great suffering, no one was ever hurt. \ But I often wonder if it was Lotan that drew Discord to us or was Discord the reason Lotan came?
“Who?” I asked
“This is not the time Luna, ” Celestia interrupted. “Thrashion, you must know that just because we are immortal does not mean we can’t die.” Her look briefly changed to a sorrowful, one. “Enough for now. We have something to discuss with you.” Celestia conjured an old-looking paper and quill. “With this, you will become an official Princess of Equestria.”
“Whoa! No thank you! I don’t want to!” I shouted.
“It is a minor title for now --”
“Minor, my ass!” I yelled.
Celestia ignored my protests. “ --until your talent comes into focus. In truth Cadence only accepted her title because our sister said there would be a spot for you.”
“We believe that you would be a good addition because you have lived most of your life as the common ponies did. You would be more approachable. You may be even more popular than Cadence,” Luna told me. “The common pony is easily relatable to you and they will know you are, to them, a bridge between the common folk and the nobility. Society will be made as it were.”
“Please sign for my sake ,” a voice asked. “I need to be closer to my sister. ”
“Thrashion, I know this is big, but this step should provide us with not only many legal options but protection for you and your friend. Right now he is considered a dangerous threat but if you were a princess then we could simply say that he was protecting you, and we would leave him alone,” Celestia finished.
“But he was,” I argued. “Regardless of threat, princess hood, or not, he’s not dangerous, damn you.”
“Aunty, she has to want to do this,” Cadence protested.
“Yes; indeed, Sister, it is her own choice. This can’t be forced nor can it be legally disputed,” Luna clarified.
“I think I got it... the princess for the ponies. You guys must have gotten a little out of touch and you need someone like me to help you reconnect.”
“Correct,” Celestia confirmed.
“Still not sure if I want to sign it but… not a bad idea, princess of the ponies and all. The one you could kick back and have brews with... Speaking of which, I could use one right now.”
“Brew?” Luna asked aloud.
“Beer,” Cadence answered.
“Yes. We will tell you all about our family in time, but for now we need to have a good meal and some rest. I will go down to the kitchen and see about the dinner. I believe Spike and Spooky are there.” Luna left the room
Celestia gave a sigh. “Thrashion, I believe after the day we’ve had, we could all use a beer.”
Chapter 8; The Late Night Visitors
Thrashion
Dinner was... strange, to say the least.
Cucumber sandwiches with chrysanthemums, accompanied by a hearty celery soup. Man, I hate to say it, but it was delicious.
It had been a long day and I was really hoping we would be turning in and I wasn’t the only one who would’ve said the same. Cadance, Twilight, and Spike all seemed tired. Shining Armor was even more so, but I think that was because he was attacked by Spooky’s spider, which I now think are magic eaters.
Still, we’ve been put in the middle of this huge dilemma, and now we had to play the waiting game. Did I ever tell you how much I hated that!
Luna seemed to sense our wariness. “Now we must decide what will be done about sleeping arrangements," she stated aloud
"Don't worry sister, I've already came up with that solution. Shining Armor and Cadance. You take the bedroom in the main tower. Twilight, Spike you will take the bedroom adjacent to my study. While Thrashion and Spooky, you will take the bedroom adjacent to Luna's study. Before you say anything Shining Armor, I will have you know, that the tower’s bedroom has been modified with first response alarms and instant guard call spells. There is also a quick teleportation circle to Twilight and Spike's room. Twilight you have one that will lead you directly to Thrashion and Spooky's room. Now I believe that we must forgo dinner tonight and make it an early night." Celestia finished.
"Thrashion, Spooky would you both be so kind as to follow me to your room." Luna beckoned us to follow to our bed room.
We followed her to a balcony. "You two are honored guests. I would like to treat thee to a gift. It is my hope to ease your enviable homesickness."
"That won't be needed Princess..." I started.
Luna cut me off with a glance back and a stern look. "Please call me Luna. Or in your case, dear Thrashion, Aunty Luna."
The three of us were soon on a balcony. Luna walked to the very edge, her horn started to glow a lighter midnight blue, we watched the moon started to rise. The sky became dark, bright golds, reds, and oranges, slowly change to violet, magenta and blue. The blue changed into a silky black, with wisps of blue clouds. Bright, white, lights start to fill the sky. With a burst they shot outwards and danced. Spinning round until taking the form of their constellations, they continued to danced.
I let out a low whistle and we watched as all the constellations their proper station and stopped their dancing. All of them where they belonged like it was nothing "What do you do for an encore?" I said as he made my Cheshire cat grin.
Luna smiled and let out a short laugh. "You have a excellent gift for mirth good niece."
"Wow," Spooky stammered. "I heard you were the Princess of Night but this... too much." I finished with a shake of his head.
"Now ti's time for sleep." Luna declared. "Thrashion, I have provided some warmth and comfort for you. Nurse Wonder Heart , would you come in please?” Luna called and a familiar pegasus nurse came into the room. “We are glad that you volunteered to keep our niece Thrashion, company in her bed being a nurse would help with making sure she is fine, If something were to occurs, there is nothing wrong with it. Please, desecration is the better part of valor. If something does happen you not be thought of any lessor."
Wonder Heart flashed me a lusty smile. Luna gave a mischievous smile at me gave a wink I had to admit that she was a knock out at that and my new mare bits started to get that feeling. Oh god did I just call a pony a knock out? Oh well I need this. My Cheshire cat grin widen to the most widest I've ever seen it. "Auntie Luna, you have just become one of the most coolest relative I've ever had."
"Well, you need a little fun before you enter the pitfalls of royalty." Luna smiled at me. "Good night my niece, Wonder Heart"
I looked at my new bed buddy. "So, ready for an interesting night?"
She smiled back. "Lead the way sexy."
Spooky
Thrashion and Wonder Heart were gone, I wanted to ask and know so much, but thankfully The Elders' spell still would not allow it. Probably a good thing anyways.
Luna must have taken my silence for melancholia. I felt a hoof on my shoulder, turned towards her. "I am sorry," Luna began. "fate is often cruel and it's twists can often doom one to disaster. But fret not you have a home here in Equestria. I am sure that there is a reason why you are here too. My I tell you as story?"
"All right." Nodded to her.
"There was once a little dragon egg housed here, it was a dud egg. One day the egg was decide to be used as a test. When the time came and the unicorn took the test something happened she caused the egg to hatch and was born a drageen. This caused the filly’s powers to come lose and all Tartarus broke loose, thyn sister had to fix it all. With all said and done two things were missing; One, the drageen. The second, was the unicorn filly that took the test. When they both were found the filly was trying to nurse the baby dragon. It was decided that the two shall stay together until they decide to part ways, which has not happened as of yet."
"Thank you Luna, Twilight and Spike I assume?" She nodded to me. "I just hope you have a good coach to sleep on, I want to go to bed." I told her.
"Understandably, I do have one in my study. It is also my hope that you will be a good mentor to Spike, he would benefit from an elder dragon. Being raised by ponies his values are different then most they seem more similar to yours. But this is only a first impression. How old are you any way?"
"I'm an adult. I'm guessing there aren't many like me around here? I'm not just talking about my type." Luna nodded, I let out a sight. "I will try to be a good mentor to him. We’ve already agreed to help each other with our respective problems of greed and anger..”
"I see, good." She gave me a warm smile
"The anger thing, it runs in the family. Don't get me wrong I don't hate them. I love them, but we are dysfunctional." I gave a laughed and shook my head.
"Dysfunction you wish to speak of that? One of my fights with my sister, engulfed our world in a war and she banished me to the moon for ten thousand years."
Nightmare moon I thought. "You have to tell me that story some day." I remarked.
"Agreed, but it is time for your rest." Luna paused in front of what I do understand is her study.
With a blue aura from her horn the door opened up. Luna's smile seemed to fade as she saw a set of unicorns sitting on the said sofa. The first one I knew already, it was Blue Blood! The second was a light indigo unicorn mare with a mane and tail of dark blue with as single stripe of lavender in it. She was dressed in a khaki explorer jacket and a pith helmet in her lap.
This was not going to end well.
"Hello Aunty, Astral Glow and I have returned from our track." The stallion stated he noticed me and his face went into a dark expression. “What are you!”
"We're here to give you our report Princess Luna." She paused for a moment and seemed to look me up and down. "Who's your friend?" She gave me a smile.
“Aunty why did you let this mongrel stay in the Castle?"
Luna looked at him crossly, and in a stern manner replied. "Blue Blood, you shall show him some respect, he is an honored guest."
"Hello, I'm Spooky." I said with a slight wave. "I was brought here with a friend of mine Thrashion."
"Thrashion, Princess Mi Gurrero Sueño." Luna interjected. "Is a long lost Princess of Equestrian, Cadence's twin sister. You will find out more about this tomorrow."
"It's a pleasure to meet you Spooky, I'm Astral Glow." The mare broke in and gave me wave. Then she pointed at Blue Blood. "And this guy is Prince Blueblood. We are from the Office of Grand Venevr, we are in charge of maps, borders and all sorts of other expeditions."
“We were out exploring some uncharted land now we are back to give them our findings.”
"Wow, a couple of real explorers." I almost sounded like a little kid. "That sound like an existing job."
"Not always, but it's got its moments." She said with a shrugged. I could finally see some faint lines in her face and a set lavender eyes, I hate to tell you they were kind of enchanting.
"Better than what I was doing, I was a janitor, for a grocery store. I was treated like something you find under your hoof.” I glowered remembering my job, but I changed and added more cheerfully. “If possible, I would like to hear some of your adventure some time." A smile came to my face.
"Has to be later, I need to talk to Princess Luna." She said waving a hoof at me.
"Yeah, that would be best." I answered and shrugged.
"Ah, yes that will do nicely.” Luna interrupted us. She had been quiet for a long time as if she had been think of things. “Astral Glow do you know an old tradition, A Bed Warmer?"
"Lets see it's an old tradition where some pony shares a bed with a visiting dignitary or honored guest. It sounds like whoring a poor soul out, but all it is really is some pony sleep in the same bed as the dignitary or honored guest. soothe their anxieties about being away from home. Maybe ever keep the individual company while they try and fall asleep. Why would you ask?” She paused and looked at Luna. The Night Alicorn nodded. “You mean?" Her eyes widened for a brief moment and her ears seemed to strain even further.
"Correct dear Astral Glow, if you would be so kind. You two seem to have a lot in common and Spooky has had a long enough, trying day, as is. 'Tis not fair for him to wait for me to finish my business to sleep. I need only one of you to give me a report. So, Astral Glow would you help thee and take part in the ritual?"
"How revolting!" Blue Blood stammered.
Astral Glow shot Blue Blood a glance and replied. "I would love to, my tent is out in the garden." Before she turned back to Luna and I.
"You do not have to do that for me." I gave Luna a slight bow. "Luna, thank you I'll take my leave so that you can get to your business."
"Hold up the Princess asked me and I agreed so you're coming with me to my tent." Astral Glow said getting up from the sofa.
I nodded and followed her out.
I looked out over the gardens, see the different statures of ponies, animals and creatures. I wondered how many were real statues and which ones were pensioners. Or weather that lore was even true.
The plants that filled the garden were so diverse. All manner of flowers, trees, herbs, bushes, shrubs and vines, all arranged in a harmonious balance. The Place was covered with blooming flowers and covered everything jumbled and tumbled together, many over growing there beads .
That's when I noticed a ragged, khaki tent in the far corner near a cultivated forest. It seemed out of place, but I must have been Astral's tent. I stopped just before the opening of the tent. a white mosquito net obscured any view of the inside.
"If ever so humble there's no place like home," She stated me. "The princess allows me to stay here when I am in the country."
I smiled and looked at my generous confidant. "Wow, that was nice of her. So have you always been a explorer?"
Turning her head to one side. "Yeah, pretty much, but I do like being home. I just can't stay in a normal home." She parted the entrance and we walked inside. I walked through I noticed that it was much bigger on the inside. There was a writing desk on one side of the tent then a small stove on the other side. A small table and chairs in one far corner and in the far corner was a mosquito that covered a large round bed.
"So, why did you decide to take Luna's offer? I mean you are quiet...um cute if you don't mind me saying but...?" I was looking down on the ground.
I felt her hoof lift my head, I was now looking into her lavender eyes. She smiled at me. "I've been with Blue Blood for so long that I would rather stay with a group of Cacatraces right now. Don't get me wrong yours not too bad yourself." She gave me a giggle. "You can call me Astral. Don't worry I'm not planning anything naughty, at least to night."
"What was that last part?" I asked.
"Nothing," She replied in a singsong manner. "Time for bed."
She pushed me towards the bed, I found my traction was useless on the carpet and soon I was flopped down on the bed. It was soft and I was very tempted to fall asleep on my belly. I shifted to my back and tried to get up. Before I could get up from the bed Astral bounded from her spot and landed on my chest, pinning me. Before I could make any type of objection she had made herself comfortable. For some reason I suddenly did not have the heart to move her.
"Oh, surprisingly comfortable I could just fall a sleep now..." She yawned. “Spikes scales are hard and rough but your are soft and…” She trailed off.
Hearing that I just laid in the bed and stared up at the khaki cloth ceiling, sleep was coming. Astral was already their . There was nothing I could do I didn't want to wake her. I draped an arm around her and I heard her murmured “Nice.” Or something like that.
I could only smile. Her fur felt amazing under my new scales, it felt wonderful. Like holding your favorite stuffed animal when you were a kind. I started to get a good look at her, it was probably my new animal self but I swore to you I could feel something inside me stir. Studying her face and her features, I noticed he tone legs and scalped rump. Watching her form rise and fall with her breath, I could see faint lines on her pony face, the lines did make her older they also made her looked more attractive. Looks were not really important to me but... I'm beginning to understand why Spike likes unicorns. I said thought to myself before I passed into slumber.
The Message, Princess in the Mist
Chapter 9; The Message, Princess in the Mist
The bedroom was pretty cool, there was a small balcony, and opposite to it was small armoire sofa that was angled towards the balcony and a small fire place. On top of this there was a queen-sized four-poster bed with all manner of trappings. Not bad really. It was definitely suited for a guest to sleep and relax.
I heard something, whispers and scratching. I looked around and the noise seemed to disappear that’s when saw Wonder Heart put her hat down. I gave her a wide grin as I scoped out her form. The first words that came to mind were: tone, tight, muscular, well shaped and -- I have to say -- good-looking. She glanced over her shoulder and noticed me eyeing her curvaceous body.
"Like what you see?" She swayed her flank seductively before slowly turning around and giving me a smirk.
"Lets get started shall we? Why not come this way." I asked as I tapped the bed.
Wonder Heart trotted over, obediently, to the bed. She climbed up on the bed and soon we were snout to snout playing tonsil hockey, it was nice. We broke and I threw back the sheets. "Lets have an adventure shall we?" I asked her.
"Oh, you are just too good to be true," she started to slid into the sheets with me. "Babe start playing with my wings.."
We definitely had fun, but it was simple. I had to sleep. So when our under the sheet excretion was over I gave into sleep. Disappointed? Hay, I don't kiss and tell. You must be thinking, Why the hell was he doing it with a pony?! Well I've haven't had a girlfriend in a long time, so I was just enjoying fooling around with a willing partner. So cut me some slack!
It had to be dreaming, I was in my human body again, I was male again. I was in my orange and black sky patrol uniform, but I was not on the slopes. The land was barren and rocky, the area was surrounded in white mist, I could see a scant, tiny green plants trying to grow out of the ground. I could hear creatures shifting around, big, lumbering, dragging, snorting and roaring all around me but I couldn’t see them. Hello horror movie cliché I thought to myself.
I heard the sound of hooves tapping on the ground, something was coming through the white mist. It was shaped like an Alicorn, but it looked like someone cut out it's shape in the world. White hole with a smudged black outline for the broader features and light thin black lines for finer features.
"Hello!" I called out that's when I heard the faint voice again.
"Hello, it's good to see you. I bring a message..."
"A message? What is it and you got to tell me..."
"Not much time, beware, beware the monster hive for through them your fear shall come alive!"
"OK if that's the message I hear you, not sure what it means... but are you the Princess?"
The Alicorn nodded.
"I just want to know why we, my friend and I are here? How come am I being confused for you? Shouldn’t some one else know?” She seemed to think for a moment before swaying forward, motioning me to follow her. I did so through the mist until I came up to a set of trees, one was an apple tree the other a pear. The Princess aimed her horn at the trees, a pale white film covered a small branch of the apple tree and then a small branch from the pear tree. The branches were cut and switched to the other tree. "A cutting?" I questioned. I did have an associate degree in forestry, so I had some idea what she was doing.
The Princess nodded, it was like watching a time-lapse video. I watched as the small branch grow into bigger the branches were now making hybrid fruit. Then I watched one of the trees burn down, only one was left. The Princess once again cut another small cutting from the remaining tree’s hybrid branch and then planted in the ground. With another timelapse the cutting became a new tree.
"I wish this was an anime, I can always guess what's going to happen next on those. What does a cutting from a plant have to do with me?" I sighed and shook my head. "I don't get what you're trying to tell me."
"No time, you must go back..." Her voice was getting harder to hear, further and further away.
"Hey, wait you still..." I woke up. My arm was wrapped around my living body pillow Wonder Heart, she was snoring softly, it was so cutely near my ear. Part of me hoped this was all a dream, a fleeting part but it was one part.
The sun was coming up, it's light filtered into the room and I was resting with my body pillow. But I had no clue what to do now that I was here and I was at the mercy of the fates. There was a knock on the door. "Ms. Thrashion, are you awake?"
"Yes, yes I am."
"The Princess Celestia wish your presence in the dining hall in an hour." A voice called through the door.
"Thank you I'll be there!" I called back.
Wonder Heart started to get up as well. "Oh, I guess our fun is over sweet cheeks." She turned her yellow eyes to me and gave a light chuckle.
"Yeah, hope you liked it. Do you think there'll be a repeat performance though."
She shrugged then kissed me on my cheek "That was one of the most fun assignment that I've ever had."
We untangled ourselves and we washed up, they have shows! I like to thank any deity that made that happen. Wonder Heart was done faster then me, she was in her armor and out of the bedroom. There was another knock on the door.
"Thrasion dear? It's me Celestia, I would like to talk to you for a moment before you go to breakfast." Celestia called in.
"Yeah, OK, come in" I called through the door.
She entered the bedroom she had smile on her face, warm and inviting. "I hope you had some pleasant dreams. Listen, I must let you know that the world that you are being thrust into a world that not only did you not ask to be in, but is full of pitfalls and danger from the likes of which you have never seen. I have faith in you and know that I will not just toss you to these metaphorical predators. Nor will I allow you to be taken from us again by any evil force."
"That's comforting, I'm not saying it would be bad but why must I be apart of this at all?" I asked.
She was still smiling she nodded with her eyes closed. "While you do have a point. I will explain this further at breakfast. I will help you settle into your new life. You should know I will help prepare for what is to come and I will try my best to protect you. That is until you are able to do it yourself. Even then I will watch over you.'
'As for where you came from... We will try to find it so that the family that raised you will know you are well. We will solve any problem that may come from the meeting of these two places, when that day arrives. I will have my best scholars and magi work in on finding your former home and forming a connection with them. Please note, that it may be impossible to do so. The Elders spell was interrupted near it's end, when that happens mutation occurs and there is no telling what will happen or rather what happened. The mutation of a spell is hard to read and it was a miracle that you and your friend got here at all.” She looked at me sadly. Then her voice picked up. “True burned and batted but Doctor Feather Heart dose do good work. He would like to see you later today."
"So there is a very real possibility that we can't get home?" I asked her.
Celestia nodded her head.
"Crap!"
"Do not lose heart, you are not alone! You have your friend with you have another family here as well. We want to get to know you and I hope you are willing to get to know us as well. I hope one day that we’ll get to know your biological family as well. She fished with a graces bow of the head.
"Um, thanks Auntie? I'm still trying to take this all in. Is there any more questions for me?"
"Not now wait for breakfast, oh and I see," She said that last part with a little more emphases. "That mare was the nurse from the Baltimare Hospital? I see you had some fun last night." She paused and that made me nervous. If this were an anime I would be sweating bullets. "I hope you had fun." She turned around and started to leave the room. "Oh, one more thing you might want to take a shower you reek of sex."
"Right." I nodded.
That was freaking scary!
The Message, The Scottie Dog
The Message, The Scottie Dog
Chapter 10; The Message, The Scottie Dog
I'm a very vivid dreamer, but a sort of a lucid dreamer too.
I say this so that you will not be surprised at what I am about to tell you, I met myself. Some time when I can’t process of deal or something is bothering me I meet myself. I was human again in a darkened room with a curtain and stage, when a spotlight came on a figure parted the curtain and took the stage. I think he is my subconscious mind or my Id not sure which yet. The other me looked like my human self but his hands looked more like the dragon claws I was now sporting and his legs were now becoming more wolf like.
Smiling at me he started. “Gotta say I like the new look, it’s really going to suit me,” He looked at his claws and flexed them “But I have to say that you are one of thee most sexually repressed people in the entire universe, I mean that unicorn was looking for some and you didn’t even capitalize on it!”
I shook my still human head. “We were tired.”
“Likely Excuse.” He waved a clawed hand at me.
“Listen I don’t have to take this if you are going to bother me about missing another opportunity to get a girlfriend or “Score” then I’m out of here.” I turned to leave.
“Wait! That’s not why. That’s not why I want you here. Listen, I’ll help keep Luna in the dark, but YOU HAVE TO KNOW,” He emphasized this. “We’re missing something.”
“What?” I blinked
“Just what I said, we’re missing something. You know and I most certainly know it. Can’t put my ‘Newly clawed’ finger on it though. Plus, don’t be afraid to rely on this new dragon body of ours, let me out and play a little. I’ll be more in-tune with this body then you and I’m guessing you’ll need this to survive. We both know stories like this either don’t end or have bad endings, yeah there are some good one but still…” He seemed to pause. “Something is happening, I have to go now but remember KEEP YOUR EYES PEELED AND EARS OPEN. Remember ‘WE’ are missing something.” My Id walked back through the curtain and the light turned off. The whole seen dissolved and became something else.
Something was different, something was different about this dream. I know that I was still dreaming but I couldn't help what's happening, basically I was an observer nothing more. I was wandering, in wandering through the mountain side of Canterlot. I was traveling down the side until I came to an enormous building. It looked like a grand cathedral, surrounded by three sweeping towers. The towers and the Cathedral were interconnected to each other by a sears of new and more modern tower buildings. The Grounds were surrounded by lush gardens, with intricate topiary, statues and fountains with beautiful sculpted walk ways. I saw what I could only describe as magic constructs everywhere; platforms making roads in and out of the main area, walk ways connecting the various building, and train rails connecting the to the main station.
"Welcome to Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns...," I could hear a voice, strong and purposeful, but I didn't know where it was coming from. "Ah unicorns, the one pony tribe that need the most help but don't know it. See you when you wake up my good dragon. My good sir."
I woke up in the same bed my former unicorn sheet, Astral, was gone. I struggled to get myself out of bed, I was not use too use to my body as I thought. I slipped out of the mosquito netting and looked around for my hostess. The tent was now brighter because the sun's light came through it.
"I see that you're up." Astral said as she entered the tent. I nodded.
"Yeah, know where I can get some tea? I could use some." I ran my hand through my scaly hand.
"Well we'll get some in the dining room, a messenger stop by and left an invitation for us to join the Princess as well as your friend. The head Chef is even add that he hopes you like your meal. I’m guessing you met Le Grand?"
I nodded. “I take it he likes his job?”
She only laughed and threw me a towel. "You'll need this, there is a shower set up around the back of my tent. Just poke the cloud it's more sensitive than most."
Poke the cloud, What did she mean by that?
In the back of the tent was a canvas tent that had what looked like a drain that empty out into the garden. I moved the flap aside, I could barely fit, and floating above the tent was a puffy black storm cloud. "Oh, that should have been obvious." The sides of the tents were had pockets that had soap and shampoo as well as a zippered pocket, I assumed that if was for the towel.
Putting in the pocket I poked the rain cloud and it started up. I went through my routine, lather up, wash off, reach various places that I would not like to mention. I wondered how the ponies did all this without opposable thumbs but as the storm cloud started drying out and became white and puffy, so I stepped out.
As I dried off I saw a little black Scottie dog with a red bandana, and adored with planem jewelry scurrying over to me. I didn't seem like anyone was around and a dog with jewelry wouldn't have been allowed to just wandering around. Would he? The dog seemed to look me up and down and then pulled a note form it’s scarf. It stood there wait for me to take the note form it, I knelt down and took the note the scotty dog skidoo a way, only way to describe his walk.
I looked at the note; I told you I would see you again. Meet me today at Celestia’s school. Ask Spike to take you he’ll know where to go.
“Good shower?” Astral asked.
“Yeah, but a Scotty dog brought me a note. What’s this about?” I showed her the note but I did not give her time to read it. .
“The dog is some sort of messenger for a noble, I guess.” She shrugged. “I’ve always seen him scurrying around Canterlot
“Come one let's get to breakfast shall we?’ She let me out of the tent.
Yeah, were chit chatting on our way there, she was telling me about her adventures. I really liked to hear about them. She did some pretty amazing things in her time, that was even before she took her Royal Office. Celestia was the one that appointed her because she was not only good magically finding things or the fact that she was an accomplished treasure hunter.
She was making it clear to me that she was not attracted to Blue Blood at all. Apparently he had several, let's stay incidents with other female co-workers in the past. That was putting it nicely.
Astral and I got to the dining room.As we passed through the dining hall doors. "Astral, I can't believe you're here!" A familiar lavender unicorn came running up to her.
"Twily, it's great to see you!" Astral cheered embracing her.
"When did you get here?"
"Last night, Princess Luna asked me to take care of Spooky here.”
She pushed me slightly.
“Really and what happened.” Twilight shot me an angry look.
“Nothing, we were both whipped. I used him as big pillow, he’s just so soft. Nothing like Spike,” She looked over at Spike. “No offense little bro.”
“None taken. He breaths Spiders and he’s not fire proof.” Spike called from the table.
“Spider that’s weird,” She looked at me, still smiling . “So Twiliy, what happened while I’ve been gone?” Astral turned back to Twilight.
Twilight shook her head. “You don’t even know, Shining got married.”
“Let me guess Cadence? ” They both laughed. “About damn time, he used to masturbate to her picture all the time. Then there was that time they both got caught in the janitor's closet.” They both laughed again.
“Mom, Dad were super pissed about that.” Twilight seemed to be thinking about something. “Princess Celestia not so much? Think she knew?”
“That they were going to be a couple?” Astral questioned.
As if on cue that’s when the royal couple came in. The look on his face changed from happy from seeing Astral to one of anger when he saw that I was next to her.
“What are you doing near my sister?” Shining snorted at me as he scratched at the ground.
“S... Sis... Sist...Sister?” I stammered.
Astral nodded. “Yeah, I’m the oldest of the Sparkle siblings.” That when I saw her cutie mark, I mean really saw it. I was surprised that I hadn't noticed it sooner. It was a magenta star sitting in a compass that had tiny white stars at the North South East and West positions. Shifting my eyes back to Shining Armor he started to charge his magic.
“Get away from my sister! ” Shining Roared as he ready to fire.
“I would run if I were you. He is a little over protective of his sisters.” Astral told me.
“Ah crud.” I sighed.
Revenge, Meeting the Main 6
Chapter 11; Revenge, Meeting the Main 6
When I came to breakfast this morning I found out something amazing. Ponies Have Pockets! Yes, I knew Spooky was running for his life from on the ceiling of the dining hall as Shining Armor peppered it with blast of magic yelling. “Sister Defiler! ” But seriously watching Cadence pull a small booklet out of her flak, or rather the side was amazing.
“So do all ponies have these pockets?” I asked her.
“Indeed dear niece and thy’n sister hides cake in her’s” Luna said with a snort
“Luna I do not!” Celestia growled at her sister. “Any more that is.” She tried to mutter.
Cadence gave a little laugh. “I’m guessing you don’t, something the good Doctor Feather Heart forgot to put in, or rather back.”
“Help!” Spooky shouted. “Why are you not doing anything?!” Spooky shouted to us.
“YOU WILL DIE! ” Shining bellowed.
“I didn’t have one befor.” I told Cadence, still ignoring my friend, and not feeling like an ass for doing it.
“Relay,” Cadence looked at me skeptically. “But every Pony is born with them.”
“I guess we need to speak to Doctor Feather Heart about his miracles, but incomplete technique.” Luna said as she starts to drink what looked like maple syrup.
“So did she have one before?” Twilight. “I mean being Cadance’s twin she should have had them.”
“I believe I can answer that,” Celestia broke in. “Thrashion’s adopted family may have had her horn, wings and pocket removed to fit in better with their land. I know that not all ponies have them, some ponies from outside Equestria are not born with them. I also know that not all pony countries have Unicorns and Pegasus so they would not have any qualms about removing them. Thought to us it would be Foal abuse, to them it is making her more like them. We really shouldn’t be too mad at the good doctor he did manage everything else right. Thought I must ask him why he gave a dragon magic pockets but forgot Thrashion had one.” She shook her head.
“We should speak to the good doctor about that when we see him next.” Luna added after she finished chugging a bottle of maple syrup.
“Help me!” Spooky yelled.
“ Shouldn’t we do something?” I pointed to the ceiling
“Don’t worry Shining will calm down. Plus, the castle itself had many types of maintenance spells, so any damage could easily be repaired.” Cadence laughed.
“So what happened?” I finally worked my friend's’ predicament in to the breakfast conversation.
“That would be partly my fault,” a new voice broke in. It had came from an indigo unicorn that was sitting next to Twilight. “We shared a bed last night, more like he was my bed.” She giggled. “Your Cadence's sister, Thrashion, Right?” I looked to see a unicorn sitting next to Twilight, she was older but the too seemed to share some sort of bond.
“Yup,” I nodded. Then more slyly added. “Glad to see someone spanked the starch out of his shorts.”
“It was fun, I’m Twilight older sister by the way you can call me Astral.”
Shining became even angrier and blasted more furiously . “Not helping!” Spooky shouted.
“I just can’t wait for my friends to meet you,” Twilight gushed. “Were going to teach you so much.”
Celestia stopped eating for a moment. “That is correct, Twilight’s friends will be preparing you for your official unveiling. I have an important task for each of them..”Princess why don’t I show Thrashion and Spooky around today?” Shining Armor eyed Spooky but he stopped satisfied his point was made and instead took his started eating. Spooky descended from the ceiling and took his spot as well
“That is nice of you Astral Glow,” Celestia spoke up. “But I was thinking you and your brother should catch up. Obviously it’s been a long time if she did not know your brother was married. Twilight, Her friends and Cadence will show Thrashion around and Spike will show Spooky. I think Spike will benefit from some time with another dragon.”
“I think that’s a wonderful idea Princess.” Twilight gushed
“SUCK UP! ” I facked sneezed
“Gazunteight.” Cadence pardoned me.
“Befor that,” Luna interrupted “I would ask you a favor good Astral Glow.”
She cocked her head and with a dashing smile on her face added. “I would be honored.”
“Either way, we should get ready the train will be here in twenty minutes and Thrashion must be read to travel.” Celestia said to us.
Just as Cadence planned I had dressed up just like her, except her wedding ring. That was still on her horn and she was dressed with the magic imude dress I was supposed to wear. Princess Celestia had planned us to meet them at the trains station then moved to a secured conference room where Celestia would explain everything. But before then Cadence and Twilight were going to have a little fun. The train pulled up and the mares I saw from the DVD stepped out.Twilight rushed to meet them and they all embraced. Twilight giggled uncontrollably as she brought her friends to meet me, or Cadence as it were, the mares all gave me a light bow.
“It’s a pleasure to see you again, but where is that dashing husband of your.” A white unicorn, a fashionably styled, purple mane she spoke in a british like accent, I think.
I just smiled. “Oh, Shining Armor is with his older sister but Twilight decided to help you girls with a special project.” I kept up a warm smile up.
“That’s right RARITY ,” Twilight put emphasis on her friend's name. “Shining is with my older sister Astral Glow she has been out of the country for a long time so they are catching up.” Twilight was putting more emphasis on her friends names so that I know who they were but it did sound a little like she was crazy.
“Wait a cotton pickin minute you have a sister too? And you said nuth about her.” A bronze-orange Cowgirl pony said to her friend with a stomp of her hoof.
“Well APPLEJACK , to be fair I haven’t seen Astral Glow in years she’s the oldest of us…”
“Wait, you're the baby?” A yellow pegasus who was trying to hide behind her long pink mane asked quietly.
“Yes, That’s right FLUTTERSHY.”.
Then I saw a cyan pegues with a rainbow mane. “How’s it hanging Cadence” She charged right up to me and high fived me, or would that be hoof? “Oh, you know same old Princess stuff.” I realized too late that I must have slipped, curse myself internally for probably ruined the joke. But the pegasus only shot me a cocky grin. “I got you Cadence.”
“RAINBOW DASH , Where is PINKIE PIE ?” Twilight asked her friend.
That’s when I saw a pink blur shoot in front of me and then out of my line of sight, the blur grabbed Twilight and wrestled her to the ground. “Twilight, Twilight, Twilight, My Pinkie scenes! Spin Price, Single Ear Flop, Googly Eyes! My Pinkie scenes, it’s telling me I’m going to see double, but I don’t know how? And why are you saying are names like that?” The hyperactive pony said to her friend inches from her face..
Twilight for her part was still smiling. “Oh, is that so PINKIE PIE . Lets just get to the conference room and I can explain what this new assignment is all about.”
If you couldn’t guess she was making sure I knew her friends names before I was introduced. Twilight lead them ahead and I fell back and the real Cadance slipped up beside me still disguised. We both lagged behind the other as we entered the train station conference room. We shut the door and Twilight set up a magic bubble.
“So Twilight what’s with all this fuss’en about? Applejack asked.
“Yes Darling don’t keep up in suspense,” Rarity added “What is this all about?”
Twilight was losing it as she stifled a giggle. Cadance and I locked the door she disrobed, we were now identical, except of Cadance’s wedding ring. Both of us waiting for the que for our part.
“Well everypony, you are here to help Princess Cadance.” Twilight said.
“Where is Princess Cadance?” Fluttershy asked.
Finally a pony hit our que. “Right here dear.” Cadance and I spoke together.
All the ponies turned around and saw that there was two Cadance(S), we just smiled and added. “What’s wrong?”
Twilight broke out laughing at her friends reaction. Fluttershy was on her back all four leg sticking in the air, stiff as boards. Rarity had some how summoned an antique couch to fant on to. Rainbow Dash and Apple Jack were staring wide eyed at us mouths wide open.
Pinkie just shrugged. “Oh, that’s what seeing double ment.”
