PrologueView OnlineUnderstanding it does not mean I can Control itPrologueWhen the Sun Shone, it Shone on the Heroes that helped summon it. There was a story not told, of another that had no relation to the Heroes. A small boy, by the name of Aran Ignis, age thirteen, was hit with a stray Ray of Light, how this happened is not known. The boy dissapeared, and no trace was discovered. As if the boy had not existed. When the Ray hit the small boy, he gained an amount of Understanding of Alchemy. Aran already had within him the blood of powerful Mars Adepts, but he had no control over his power. Now he Understood, but couldn't Control. For a moment an Inferno as intense as the sun raged, but only for a moment. Aran felt himself falling, but that was impossible, he rationalized, for he was in the middle of a small field of stone before. All he could see around him was the colour red. He was falling, fast. Aran moved a hand to pinch himself, as you would when you want to know if you are dreaming. As he did so, he closed his eyes and smiled, wondering what type of breakfast he will have when he wakes. Aran continued to fall through nothingness. His smile faded, and he began screaming. This is where the story of Aran Ignis, a thirteen year old boy who has no Control over his Alchemy, but somewhat Understands and has tremendous Power. Third Person - Equus, 1500 Before NMM - Celestia As her Day Court came to an end, Celestia rose to go lower her Sun, and be with Luna to raise the Moon. Passing windows walking to the room in which they held the cerimony, Celestia caught sight of the sky. Such a beautiful sunset... Celestia, still thinking of the problems of her Day Court, did not realize that she had not yet lowered the sun, so there should be no sunset. She turned her gaze higher and saw her Sun still high in the sky. It finally clicked. Celestia jumped out the window, shattering the glass, scaring the guards walking past her. Celestia spread her wings and flew high into the sky, searhcing for whatever had the power make the sky look like a sunset. As she flew higher, she saw flames dancing across the sky, and if she listened closely she could hear would sounded like an adolescent colt screaming what sounded like a mix of the Zebra's language and the Minotaur's language. Now slightly enraged and worried for the colt, she flew closer to the flames, which she noticed, were slowly descending into the forest. Before she flew to far away, she yelled to her sister Luna, "Luna! We art going to find the disturbance of these flames! Do not worry!" Treetops were being lit on fire now, Celestia hoped none of her little ponies living in scattered housing throughout the forest would be injured. Desperate to find the source of this Inferno, she flew faster, the heat and fire getting more intense. As she neared the center of the storm, she could start making out the figure causing it. It appeared to be a Minotaur with a smaller lower half, and no horns. Just as Celestia was starting to make out the figure, the flames stopped. The only flames that raged was the forest, already lit. The strange figure fell into the forest. "Sister! We hath come to help thee-" Luna flew up to Celestia, but stopped speechless as she saw half of their forest, the Everfree, burning. Luna, calling upon the power of the Moon, gathered the moisture in the air, Willing it to put out the fire, and so it did, mostly All was not without losses however. The fire had claimed half of their forest. Luna heard Celestia gasp, and start to cry. Celestia pointed her hoof down to the forest ground, where few small fires still raged despite Luna's efforts. Luna too gasped, and shed a tear as she saw numerous pony bodies lying dead, burning, melting. Both Sisters enraged, flew to the spot where the figure fell. First Person - Aran - Everfree When I woke up I was in a world of pain, all I remember was standing in a field of stone, waiting for the local Venus Adepts. I thought they had wanted to rob me, and that was why I was waking up with a major migraine. I opened my eyes, and saw a burnt forest around me. That was the first clue I had there was something wrong. The second was the two winged unicorns flying down to me. I don't know how I knew, but they looked angry. I rose to get a better view of where I was. It all came back to me in an instant, seeing a bright second Sun on the horizon, feeling it's rays. Understanding Alchemy, but losing Control, even less Control then I had before. Then the falling, as if I was pushed from the ledge of a cliff. I saw red everywhere, and flames. I had thought I was dreaming, I wasn't then. Perhaps I am now, I had thought. I pinched myself once more, to be sure. I was confident I was dreaming then, winged unicorns? Surely, no such thing could exist. The smug smile I wore vanished. This was very much real. How, I didn't know. I had never heard of such fantastical creatures. They flew at me with grace, and speed. They were angry, that much I was sure of. Angry at me, I rationalized. I took a look around, and saw the destruction around me. What looked like small horse skeletons were littered about, but not many. I saw burnt trees, some still on fire. It finally clicked, and I remembered being in the middle of a great fire, an Inferno. I did this. I Understood Alchemy, but I could still not Control my Psynergy powers. My head drooped in shame, surely these winged unicorns were going to kill me. Thumps on the ground in front of me confirmed that they were after me. I looked up at them, taking in what would probably by my killers appearance. After all, I cannot Control my powers, I cannot defend myself. One was blue with a starry mane flowing behind it. The other was white with a multicoloured mane flowing in a nonexistent breeze, as did the first. Strange, female like noises came from the blue one. It sounded angry, and I decided it was female. She wore regalia bearing a crescent moon. I decided I would call her Night. The other white one spoke something as well, thought I could not understand her either. I took a better look at her, she also wore regalia and was slightly taller than Night. Deciding that this one too, was female, I named it Day. Further shouting from Day and Night convinced me they were very angry with me, and I knew why. I remember being at the middle of the Inferno that fell on this area, once a forest. I dropped my head in shame, shrugged and spoke. "I cannot understand you beings, but I acknowledge what I have caused. By not being able to Control my Power, it seems I have taken life, and burned a forest. I accept whatever punishment you see fit." Third Person - Celestia and Luna - Everfree Celestia and Luna looked at eachother in shock. The strange minotaur had just looked at them when they yelled at him, for when it spoke it sounded male. At least, they assumed it spoke, all they heard were different pitched growls. It hung it's head. "Sister, what shall we do with this strange minotaur? It burned down half of our Everfree, and killed some few ponies." Luna carefully spoke to her sister. "Luna, you know King Roxas would be upset if we did not hand over any minotaurs that commit crimes in our lands, he is strict with his subjects. But..." Celestia trailed off. "He does not have to know. This would cause too much trouble were it to get out." Luna finished. "We have come to an agreement. As much as I hate to agree with thee sister, we must be rid of him." Celestia spoke, as she activated her half of the Elements of Harmony. Luna activated her own half, each sister realizing they needed to exterminate the threat to Equestria before it bloomed. An intense rainbow washed over the strange minotaur, and it let out a low pitched growl, seemingly in pain. The sisters did not stop, but shed a tear as they sympathized with the creature. The creature fell, and looked as if it was kneeling, and spoke it's supposed final words, and the sisters Understood it. Somehow, they perfectly Understood what the being said. "I... was Aran Ignis. I was able to Understand Alchemy, just a little bit. I had Power, but no Control, and this is my fate. Remember me, The Uncontrollable Flame." Third Person - Aran - Everfree He had no idea what he said, it sounded as if he spoke the winged horse's language, if only for a moment. He was in extreme pain, the winged unicorns cast some spell he presumed on him, it was a very pretty rainbow. But all he felt was pain. He felt himself slipping, melting. Cremating, he was turning into ash. He made this realization, and suddenly the pain stopped. He felt serene, at peace, as the rainbow continued on. Strangely, he could feel himself rematerialized somewhere else. He could feel his limbs, but not see them. All except his torso and head were gone now. His arms and legs were surrounded by what felt like silk. Aran was beginning to feel pain again, but only in the limbs he could not see. He felt burned. One last time, as his body was fading, he looked at the winged unicorns. They were crying, as he smiled. Then Aran blacked out. Third Person - Celestia and Luna - Everfree Just as he was turned to ash, the Sisters saw the being who named himself The Uncontrollable Flame, return unfazed by the rainbow of the Elements of Harmony. Or so they thought. They saw the Rainbow turn him into ash, but there it was. A statue, depicting the man in his last moments, kneeling with a smile on his face. He was obviously in pain, but still he smiled. And both the Sisters agreed that they would put this statue in their garden at their castle, to commemorate the evil creature that let they captured. For at it's end, it seemed remorseful. Third Person - Aran - ??? I regained conciousness, and felt so comfortable, but in pain. I felt burned all over. That didn't feel right. I tried to recall what happened, but could remember nothing. What is my name? I can't even recall that. Where am I from? Where am I now? I can't remember! I opened my eyes, and I found myself to be in a sterile looking room. I saw strange objects, and heard a strange noise. I looked myself over. I'm in a strange bed, with rails on the side. Looking at my arm, which is burned, there is a tube in my wrist. I panicked for a moment, looking around the room I was in, I recalled why it was familiar to me. It was similar to a hospital, I had heard of strange hosiptal facilities in other parts of Weyard, but never been. I thought for a moment, and realized I remembered that! Weyard! That's where I'm from, the land where I was born. Where am I now, and why can't I remember anything? I heard the door open, and I quickly laid back down. I glanced at the door, and saw a woman like figure walk in. Third person - Woman - Aran's Room "Hello? Are you awake yet sir?" The doctor, her name Amber, asked the patient she was assigned to. "Where am I? Who are you?" The boy sat up and spoke. "You are in the hospital, being treated for burns. I am Doctor Amber, also I was tasked with finding out how you were burned. You were found in a forest that had recently caught on fire, the firemen who put it out were the ones that found you. Do you remember anything? What's your name?" The boy looked confused, but deep in thought. "I can't remember." Omniscient Third Person Life went on for Aran. Plagued by Amnesia, he learned as if he was newborn, the new world he was in. Before one could be given to him, he remembered his name. Aran Ignis was adopted, and grew up as a normal child. He grew up normally. He made friends, went through school. All was not well for him though, he was plagued by strange dreams. Aran saw himself, in a strange land, and then in a forest with winged unicorns. Aran grew up, and thought nothing of the dreams. Quickly through school, he was in his final year of High School when he stumbled into Video Games. One such series was called Golden Sun. It looked much like the land in his dreams, and he fell in love with the series. He made friends also interested in games as he was. Aran at this point had a personality of being nice to his friends and being a bit rude to strangers and his enemies. It was at this point in his life that his friends invitied him to a gaming convention. His friends dressed up as characters from video games, and he as a character he made up from the Golden Sun series he so loved. He dressed as his original character he made, a Mars Adept. Now the real story begins at this convention. Aran saw many characters from video games he knew at this convention. He saw Solaire of Astora from Dark Souls, someone dressed in a steampunk outfit, and some dressed as the main characters from Gurren Lagann to name a few. The adventure begins when Aran strays from his friends to a prop store. Aran found a sword here, a really good replica of the Sol Blade from Golden Sun. He bought it, for a good price. Around one hundred and fifty dollars. Quite the steal for how good of a replica it was. As soon as he left the store with the Sol Blade in hand, all Aran could see was the colour Red. Aran felt like he was falling, and then he blacked out. Unbeknownst to him, this was the second time.
An unwelcome return to EquusView OnlineUnderstanding it does not mean I can Control itAn unwelcome return to Equus-Third person - Canterlot The world of Equus is filled with magical energy, thus there is bound to be an excess somewhere. In most cases the ponies of Equestria will break into song and dance to relieve some of this magic excess that is in the air. This is one of those times. A small dragon child and a purple unicorn, to be precise. Running towards a train, the end of their song was approaching as they neared the train. Oh no she wasn't Oh no I wasn't Oh no she wasn't No I wasn't Prepared...for this! The personal student of Princess Celestia, Twilight Sparkle, and her assistant, a child dragon named Spike, made their way towards their friends on the train. They were heading for the Crystal Empire. -Third Person - Celestia and Luna The Sisters watched as Twilight Sparkle and her friends, the embodiments of the Elements of Harmony, raced towards the Crystal Empire. If they had been more alert, they would have noticed a Flare lit up above the Everfree forest. Celestia and Luna turned and walked back into the castle, intending to go about their usual business. "Excuse me? Your Majesties?" An old unicorn with the cutie mark of a notebook, General Written walked up to the Sisters as they left Celestia's balcony. The Sisters turned to see the pony they had tasked with making sure all of the castles artifacts, statues, and other various things of importance were in their right places. "Have you completed the count of the artifacts?" Celestia questioned the stallion. He fidgeted a bit under the gaze that the Sisters gave him. It was very important that all the items were in their places. If some of them fell in the wrong hooves… "Y-yes Your Majesty. All b-but one item has been c-confirmed to be safe." The Sisters began to get nervous, but only Luna showed it. Celestia, with millennia of practice, maintained her composure. After all, just because it wasn't catalogued doesn't mean it was missing. "A statue m-marked to be in the maze gardens. I c-can't find a trace of it." General stuttered out, nervous about announcing this news. Celestia fidgeted, remembering only one statue there, a draconequus, and nervously spoke. "The… Chimera statue?" "N-no Princess. I looked t-through the old records, a statue labeled the Uncontrollable Flame is supposed to be there b-but it's not." At his words Celestia visibly calmed down, but Luna tensed. Knowing Luna would want to know why that certain statue was missing and that she did not need to worry about it, Celestia told the stallion she already knew and that it was fine, and motioned for him to leave. The stallion's attention, however, had drifted away from Celestia. General Written's jaw was slightly lowered, and he was gazing, seemingly, behind the Sisters. There was nothing behind them, Celestia and Luna knew this, and thought the stallion had overworked himself. "General, perhaps you should-" Luna started to tell the stallion that he should go rest, perhaps get something in the royal kitchens, but General Written interrupted her. He lifted his hoof, pointing behind them out the window. Turning around, wondering what could cause the stallion to interrupt the Princess in such a manner. The Everfree was ablaze. Normally the Sisters wouldn't give it a second thought, as the Everfree was home to no pony, and they could not Control the weather there. The Sisters hesitated, and gave it a second look. Flames danced skyward from one spot, a would be beautiful display were it not setting a forest ablaze. These intense flames, this Inferno, was coming from their old castle, where a certain statue resided. A roar was heard, emanating from the spot where the flames did. With the roar came speech, but the words were lost on the Sisters and the old unicorn. The Sisters, however, knew what must have made the sound. So, for the first time in a millennia the Sisters launched forward with great speed, out the balcony, flying faster than the Wonderbolts themselves, for they had seen this brilliant display once. Only two beings ever known to the Sisters could command such Power over flames. Celestia herself, and a strange minotaur like creature, that they had all but forgotten about. If he has truly broken free of the statue, and he is vengeful, they might be in danger, for this time… This time they do not have the Elements. - First Person - Aran - The castle of the Royal Sisters I regained consciousness, but I could not move, I felt frozen. Cold, like I was in the middle of a tundra. That wasn't right, I shouldn't be cold because... because... I can't remember. It's always been that way. Trying to open my eyes I found that I couldn't. I could still see but my eyelids wouldn't move, when I opened my 'eyes' I 'saw' why. I was petrified, literally a statue. I was in a small room, or at least what seemed to once be a room. Rubble was everywhere, only rotten furniture clued me in that this was once some kind of trophy room. How did I end up like this? I 'looked' towards my feet and saw the Sol Blade. The convention! I found and bought the replica Sol Blade and went to exit the shop...Red, falling, dancing with flames. I 'looked' over to the far wall where some tapestries still hung, seemingly unaffected by age, unlike the rest of the room. One tapestry was white and had a Sun mark, the other purple and a crescent Moon mark, and then something in my brain connected. Ashes, a rainbow, winged unicorns, Day and Night. Before that there was the same red dancing flames form before, and the same feeling of falling. Before that was Weyard. I remembered it all in that moment. I had been ripped from my home and put in some winged unicorn's forest, and accidentally set it ablaze. They condemned me and 'shot' at me with a rainbow of some sort, ripped away my memories and put me on Earth. Then I was thirteen, and now I'm twenty, and angry. I could now feel my Psynergy again, and once more I had some Understanding. I'm older now, and I have some Control. With this Power, new found bits of Control and Understanding, I would get my revenge. Tapping into my Psynergy reserves, I brought forth the power of Mars, flames, an Inferno. My attack broke apart the room with it's intensity and flowing into the sky. My stone prison began to crack and melt apart. I let loose a cry of rage as I freed myself. "The winged unicorns of Day and Night to you I swear! I will have my revenge!" Stepping down from the pedestal I was on, I grabbed the Sol Blade. Whereas before I thought it a good replica from a game, I now know it's real, and I came from the land of Weyard. I had some Understanding, small amounts of Control, and I had Power. I felt within me so much Power. I had a goal, revenge. For ripping my from my home and wiping my memory. First, I had to escape the rubble filled room, my Inferno had not left a clear exit. I let loose another cry of rage as I swung my Sol Blade at the nearest wall, and it unleashed one of it's hidden Powers Purgatory. A massive wave of fire hit the wall, and the wall was turned to ash. I rushed out of the building into a small clearing in the surrounding forest. I turned around to see what building I had been in, and saw it was a huge castle that lay in ruins. I looked around to gather my surroundings. In the distance I saw a titan of a mountain, with a large castle hanging of the side. How is that even possible? Closer than that, I could see two figures moving at an alarming speed towards the castle. They probably saw the Inferno I unleashed. I made to go hide further into the forest, I was feeling weak from exerting myself. The more I thought about what they did to me, and how I just knelt there and accepted it, the more angry I got. At myself, and them. I was feeling so very angry, I didn't notice I was losing what little Control I had. I realized too late my emotions were getting out of Control, and the attack SuperNova was unleashed, destroying and lighting fire to the forest around me.
A narrow escapeView OnlineUnderstanding it does not mean I can Control itA narrow escapeOn a train heading north Twilight Sparkle was heading north to try and save the Crystal Empire. The lavender mare's mind never forgot this as one of her friends, a white unicorn mare, was trying to uphold a casual conversation about spells to try and ease Twilight. Twilight appreciated this, of course, but she would have preferred her friend had not tried at all. Twilight was very stressed. "That particular part of the illusion was tricky but-" "Rarity you already told this story." Twilight interrupted. Rarity grinned sheepishly and blushed. Seeing Rarity flustered Twilight tried to amend the situation. "Not that it's a bad story or anything, but you've told it a few times. By the way, didn't AJ want to talk to you before we arrive?" Rarity stared out the window next to them, wide eyed. Twilight waved her hoof in front of Rarity's face trying to get her attention. Rarity continued to stare out the window. Twilight reasoned she should probably look out the window- of course I should, why didn't I sooner? Twilight slapped her hoof on her face and turned to gaze out the window. What she saw was breath taking. Flames were dancing across the horizon. Beautiful as it was Twilight wasn't sure why it captivated Rarity so much. "The Everfree." Twilight jumped when Rarity spoke. "What about it?" "We are far away Twilight, but you can still see that that's over the Everfree. Something is obviously happening." "Right, girls, come over here and-" The train lurched sideways with a large 'clang' sound and interrupting Twilight and throwing her from her seat. ---------- In the Everfree I'll be the first to say that being in the middle of that Super Nova, even as a Mars Adept, wasn't pleasant. Looks I set a forest on fire again. Getting up on my feet after that took a moment, longer than it should have. The backlash from that was intense yeah but it wasn't that bad. I 'reached' within myself on instinct. I 'felt' my Psynergy, and there wasn't much left. I might be able to hold my own against Day and Night but I doubt it. I probably only had enough to escape, barely. I turned to look back at the castle that I emerged from to see that the Sisters had already seen me and were charging at me. Melee combat is it? My chances might have gotten better. Raising my Sol Blade up in a defensive position, I called my Psynergy forth and cast Eruption. Avoiding that will take some of their attention away for a small moment, but it was enough for me to realize what to do next. I just hoped I had enough Luck to pull it off. Seeing the Sisters still looking behind them at my attack, I laughed. They fell for it, but now is the part when the victor of the battle would be decided. Jumping a foot into the air, I raised Sol about my head, grasping on with both hands. I really hope this works. I took a deep breath. I smirked as I felt some Power in the Sol Blade. Deciding this was a good time as any to be dramatic, I howled. "Megiddo!" I must have someone looking out for me because for once, something went in my favor. The Sisters had looked back at me when they heard my cry, and I'll never forget the look in their eyes. I'll be honest that it made me feel a little bad. They actually looked scared as the small sun rocketed toward them. I fell back to ground, sheathed Sol, and turned and ran. That last attack shouldn't have used my Psynergy and yet I felt as if I had almost none at all. Staggering through the forest at first, I broke into a full sprint trying to get away. I heard the crash from my attack as I ran away and that inspired me to run faster. I didn't know if I hit them and I didn't want to know. I wanted to get the hell out of there and recover my Psynergy. I ran for what felt like an hour. My legs were sore and I felt like I couldn't run even if a Jupiter Adept cast Spark Plasma right behind me. I heard what sounded like a horse yelling but it didn't sound like one of the Sisters. How they speak is beyond me, they make such strange noises. I suppose Weyard held stranger though, and a few things on Earth could probably top it. Staggering towards a small clearing, the noise was coming from here, ahead I saw a manticore about to pounce on a small striped pony. Against my better judgement, I found the strength within myself for another small fight. I ran up into the clearing and cast Guard on the pony, unsheathed the Sol Blade and turned to face the manticore. One again against my better judgement I decided to use a Psynergy move to get it over with faster. I cast Searing Beam. That manticore was pretty weak, it dropped as soon as my attack landed. With that over, I tried to turn to look at the pony. Tried. I really didn't think this out before hand. With the adrenaline gone I felt the weight of what I had done. I used more Psynergy then I had. Collapsing backwards I saw the sky was blue again after my flames and all. My vision began to fade, and the last thing I saw was the pony standing over me as it bent down. It looked like it was trying to pick me up. After I saw that, I reached my limit and slipped into unconsciousness. ---------- Luna, ever the faster healer, recovered from the attack first. Pulling herself together and getting up on her hooves, she glanced at the destruction around her. The last attack the beast let out was fearsome indeed. I looked it launched a miniature sun at her and her sister, and it left a fair sized crater.. Luna looked around frantically for Celestia, to find her right next to each other in the crater. Gathering the magic in her horn and letting it out in the form of a healing spell on Celestia, Luna twitched thinking about the beast. Sure, they had technically attacked first but that beast was ruthless. With the power to break out of it's stone prison and the enchanted room it was in, and the to paint the sky red with fire, surely this beast was not a friend to them. Luna remembered when they first had encountered it how pacifistic it seemed, even after setting their forest on fire. No, there was no doubt in her mind. This beast was evil. Still healing Celestia, Luna twitched again, she spoke under her breath. The tone with which she spoke would have frightened one of her subjects. "You will die for this beast." ---------- Were anypony around to listen they would have heard ominous laughter, but at that particular moment the Canterlot gardens were empty. If anypony was around to see a certain statue, they would have noticed it had a crack at it's base. This wouldn't be much of a problem were it any other statue, but this statue was different. Currently, it was laughing.
Pesky animalsView OnlineUnderstanding it does not mean I can Control itPesky animalsTwilight Sparkle watched through the window of the train car as the newly restored Crystal Empire vanished over the horizon. She looked to the ceiling and sighed. It had been a trying day... and her mind kept wandering back to the flare she saw just before the train crashed. The train crashed into a large snowfall just before the train station, luckily no pony was injured. As she thought back to the flare the door to the room violently slide open. Bursting into the room with a pained look on his face Spike belched out a book. "Jeez, I hope whatever book Princess Celestia sent was important... That really hurt." The purple drake moaned and flopped onto the seat across from Twilight. The purple mare picked up the book in her magical grip, "I wonder what..." The book was plain and didn't have a title. Opening the book showed a letter tucked next to the cover. The envelope was plain save for Twilight's name hastily scrawled on the front. She opened the letter, and could immediately tell it was written with haste. First, Twilight Sparkle, Congratulations. Word has already reached Celestia and I that you were successful in helping the Crystal Empire. Although you and your friends no doubt deserve rest, it would seem that fate has brought yet another age old enemy back to us. The book I have sent you is one of my journals from when the capital was still inside the Everfree. On page forty-five you will find the accurate accounting of the Everfree Forest Fire that killed over three thousand ponies and two hundred assorted members of other species. This is the true story that we had to clear from history. The cause was not a stray elemental, but a being of unknown origin and just recently Celestia and I encountered it again. It was petrified in our old castle. We battled and lost. I must go now, Tia is still resting and I must tend to her. -Princess Luna Twilight was shocked, but nonetheless she proceeded to open the journal. An enemy the Princess' might combined could not vanquish? I absolutely hate these damned ponies. When I woke up, my body having recovered enough Psynergy, I was smartly tied up in a small hut in the middle of a forest.. When I broke free, for how smartly I was tied up it was a simple fireball to break out, and started to run out I discovered it was the small zebra I saved that tied me up. I promptly knocked her on the head with the flat of my blade and ran. After running for what was probably a good ten or twenty minutes I came across a path. With no better options and the want to get the hell out of the forest, I started to head down the path hoping I was running to the bit that leads out of the forest. After what felt like hours of running, I tripped and tumbled out of the forest. Lying on my back and looking at the sky, I could hear my heart thumping in my ears. I jumped up to have a look and lost hope. Right before me was a medium sized settlement full of ponies. I was still somewhat far out from the town and I didn't think any spotted me. Outlying the village was a small cottage, far enough away for me to slip in and try to hide and hope against the odds the owner wasn't in. Sneaking up to the house was easy, it would seem getting in would be the hard part. Looking in a nearby window I saw a few animals inside, just some birds and a rabbit. I stood up and tried the door handle to find it locked. Luckily all those years of forgetting my keys paid off because I happened to have my multi-tool and a bobby pin in my pocket. The lock was way too easy, though I suppose if the ponies needed to have a blacksmith make it then it would be. I stepped into the house and locked the door behind me just to be sure. That's when I heard a faint thumping from behind me. I turned and saw the rabbit giving me a disappointed look. What the hell? I'm already in the land of sentient ponies, why not rabbits too? I can't wrap my head around this place. While I was staring at it, the rabbit hopped up and tried to kick my head. I guess this was it's owner's home and it was trying to get me out. Really lucky I was on guard, have to be when breaking into a house, otherwise it would have landed. "Guard!" I boosted my defence in the case something else decides to hit me from behind. It was a simple matter to knock out the rabbit with a tap to the back of it's head with my gloved fist. I was not prepared for what happened next though. Just as I turned away from the door and rabbit, I heard a bear growl. My eyes were just in time to see it sweep it's paw into my side, knocking me across the room and into the wall, rendering me unconscious yet again. Some Adept I am. Along a forest path walked a special man and this man wielded an immense power. He wielded it for the greater good, even though his fighting years were behind him. This man, dressed in impressive looking armour with a radiant yellow sword on his back, shrugged off the monsters jumping at him from the forest. Normally this blonde haired hero would defeat all monsters to make the world a better place, but this time he was in a hurry. He had a friend, a red haired man also in impressive looking armour, following behind that would surely take care of the beasts. Today was an important day after all. It was the fifteenth anniversary of the Sun shining. A young child, barely younger than the man himself at the time, went missing the day the Sun shone. This man and his red haired ally were heading to their old friend's house. Their old friend is an old man. The old man had been working on a way to find the boy that went missing since they found out he did three years after the Sun shone. Word was the old man found something out. Ahead on the path the blonde haired man saw the small cottage the old man now lived in. The old man was standing outside looking at the man, then behind him. The man glanced behind him to see his red haired friend catching up to him. They nodded to each other and continued to the house. All three smiled as the two walked up to the third. The blond haired man was the first to speak. "I assume this isn't just a social call, Kraden?" The old man smoothed his white hair back and pulled on his beard. "I wish it was Isaac, but until then, why don't you and Garet come in and have a seat? I'm very close to finding the child. As it turns out, he was pulled to a different world when the Sun shone.... We will speak more inside. Come in, please." Isaac and Garet gladly walked in and took a seat in Kraden's living room, both on the edge already, eager to hear more. Kraden sat down in front of them and began to tell the two how he thought that the young child Aran was pulled to another world.
A grotesque meeting; An unexpected strike!View OnlineUnderstanding it does not mean I can Control itA grotesque meeting; An unexpected strike!Stepping off of the Friendship Express, Twilight and her friends collapsed on the platform exhausted from their trip. "Well girls, tomorrow I'd say that we should...." Twilight began but trailed off as she, along with four of her friends stared for a moment at Fluttershy, who was flying hurriedly to the edge of the forest. There was a fire, they could see the smoke, and it was Fluttershy's house. Shaking off the surprise, and exhaustion from the trip, Rainbow Dash was the first to take off after Fluttershy, quickly followed by the rest of her friends. Oh no no no! Not good! Apparently when the bear swatted me to the side, I lost Control before I blacked out and let out a Fireball, or something of that order. It wasn't hard to deduce this, considering when I awoke I was surrounded by flames and smoke. Looking just ahead I could see the bear's half melted corpse. Resisting the urge to lose the lunch I hadn't had, I briefly thought about trying to put out the fire. That idea went to the bin fast considering all I can do is with fire. Maybe if I could perform some Venus Psynergy, but that was way out of my league. So after making sure there were no more animals in the cottage, I legged it out of there. Then I proceeded to leg it right back inside. When I got out there I saw ponies from the village rushing the house. Two of each sub-race. Not wanted to deal with all that I jumped out the back window to not catch their attention. Because I have wonderful observation skills I completely missed that the window wasn't open, and was indeed made of glass. Busting through the glass was no problem if you think about how fast I was moving to get out of there, what slowed me down was the landing. I got a really nasty cut to my left arm. Quickly casting a small Flare onto the wound to stop the bleeding, I thought about my left arm. You could say that my left arm was my sword arm, considering I have to use both hands to hold the Sol Blade. If I got into a fight I'd have to solely rely on my right arm to cast Psynergies. That exact reason is why I could have outrun a race car when those ponies found me. Not wanting to get into a fight, I rushed into the forest, ignoring the angry sounding neighs chasing me. I dashed in the forest and slouched behind a tree, catching my breath before I have to run again. "I thought I sensed an Adept around here." A voice met my ears from above me, just a little bit further inside the forest than I was. Spooked for a number of reasons, those being that the voice could speak English, knew I was an Adept, and tracked me, I spun around and looked skyward. I tried to pool some Psynergy into my right hand in the case that I needed to attack quickly, but it seemed I already lost Control and my Psynergy didn't respond. I grunted, "Show yourself!" "Calm down. Don't attack me, I'm coming out." Descending down from the treetop was- "A djinn? How the hell did you get here from Weyard?" I spluttered. The Djinn had a look of surprise cross it's face, before it adopted a serious look. "You could say I'm looking for someone, just like these ponies coming up seem to be looking for you." I turned around and peeked behind the tree to see that the ponies were getting very close, something I didn't want. "Okay so you're a Djinn. Can you help me? Djinn are supposed to have unique powers, right? I'll help you if you help me." At my saying this, a confused look crossed the Djinn's face. "Whaat, you're an Adept and you don't know much about Djinn? Yeah I can help you, if you swear you'll help me after." Furiously nodding my head, the Djinn continued by pointing to the huge castle hanging off of a mountain. "I can sense some big Psynergic event will happen there soon. I think that it'd do me well to be there when it happens. I can lend you my power to help us both get there. I can heal your arm and increase your speed. Then I'll hang onto your back and you run there. I'm called Coal. Let's get started." Coal finished his small lecture. "Right, sounds good. My name is Aran." Coal floated onto my back and I felt a rush of power. My arm healed and I felt full of energy. Then it was time to see how fast I was with a run to the mountain, and up it, a few dozen kilometres away. Twilight and Co. arrived at the edge of the forest just in time to see the creature they were chasing run off towards Canterlot at an alarming speed. Quickly working together, Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy pulled some clouds over to put out the fire. After quickly checking up on her animal friends, Fluttershy determinedly looked at Twilight, questioning her on what to do now. Twilight, not sure if she cold teleport all of them, told her friends they'd have to take the train "You're sure that this is the place?" Garet questioned, stepping into the cave alongside Kraden and Isaac. "Yes, I'm quite sure. The nearby villagers mentioned strange noises coming from inside. Coupled with the large amounts of Psynergy just radiating from it, I'd say this is it." Kraden sighed, then questioned, "Can you feel it Isaac?" Nodding his head, Isaac lead the trio further into the cave. The castle looked even bigger up close. I found I could run exceptionally fast with Coals help. As I neared the gates to the town, for I could now see there was a town before the castle, the power Coal lent me started to wear off. Just as well because I'd have to start being stealthy soon. There might be guards and I'd rather not have to deal with that at the moment. Normally I wouldn't care but as soon as the power Coal lent me wore off- "Shit!" I swore, the gash on my left arm reappeared, although less severe. I could probably wield the Sol Blade and cast Psynergies with it now, so a fight would be fine but not a long one. I'd have to wait until the castle to fight. "What the hell Coal? Why did the wound on my arm resurface?" "Sorry Aran, my focus is speed. I'm not the best healer." Coal apologized. "Though I believe I have a bit of power left in me to lend." Floating into the sky for a moment, Coal continued, "I can see what looks like the town square from here. With the power I have left I could give you enough speed to get there in about thirty seconds. Can't do anything more about your arm though." "That... That sounds great. I think I might be able to make it further than that, almost to the castle." I assured Coal. Floating down onto my back, Coal once more lent me some power. Resting one more moment, I took off towards the town. I ran past the gate and into the town. With my speed I was already in the middle of town and started to run further when I noticed something. Something very important. I don't know how I didn't notice it sooner. The town was empty. Could they have known I was coming? I don't know exactly what Coal's intentions are here, but I was just bringing him here. I was coming here non hostile. I plan to stay that way unless those two Winged Ones are- VWOOSH Speak of the devil. I heard it just in time to pull out and raise my blade to block whatever was coming at me. The speed at which it was coming and the force of what it was pushed me back on my feet, sliding it and I a few dozen metres backwards. I looked up and saw it was Night, with her horn pushing back against my blade. At least, that's what I'd like to say happened. I did hear Night coming in time to block her, but I couldn't get my right arm on my sword fast enough. That meant I was blocking solely with my wounded arm. Her horn got past my guard long enough to put a gash on my cheek before the force of her first attack, with so much power behind it, blew me backwards a dozen metres. I landed on my left side furthering the pain in my arm. Coal had disappeared to wherever Djinn go to recharge their power. I reached for my sword with my right arm and slammed it into the ground, pulling myself up onto one knee. Struggling to get up, I saw Night eye me cautiously. Of course since I was in talking pony land, that's when shit got weirder. The ground adopted a chequerboard like pattern. I saw Night look slightly horrified before an explosion separated us further. "We're close." Isaac spoke up, startling his companions out of the silence they were in. "Can you not feel it? We must be close to the main chamber." "Aye, if there is a beast in there we best be ready. For it to have no monsters prowling its cave must mean it has immense power." Garet replied. Kraden nodded. The trio emerged from the tunnel they were in to find themselves... In the Vale ruins? "How the devil did we get here?! We were in a cave!" Kraden exclaimed, thoroughly confused. "I'm not sure-" began Isaac, before a fourth voice interrupted him. "Devil? I've been called many things, but never that. I think that might be stretching it." Appearing in front of the group, a hideous monster spoke to them. "I am Chaos Incarnate, and you lot are just what I was looking for." Before the trio could make a move, the monster snapped with its claw, and the trio was gone.
