Chapters Basic History of Equestria
A white pony with long brunette hair and a mark upon her flank in the shape of a feathered pen and ink pot looked calmly down at what would soon be her first creation and her last.The great empress looked upon the world with great excitement and calmness. A smile breached across her face seeing how she would do it. Her creation, more unique than anything. She may have been far from a god of what we picture but she came just close enough to be labeled as such. She was the first and would be revered as Mother Mare soon to come. She had seen many worlds along her travels and all have been the same. Bipedal creatures with great intelligence and diversity. The creatures not like them varied planet to planet but the outcome was still the same. She was the only one of her kind but no longer will she be. She knew doing this would probably cause her death or perhaps lose everything but she wanted too as nothing else would make her happy. Using her unicorn powers she summoned up a sheet of paper and a pen and begun to write silently and calmly. Trying to keep the immense amount of joyfulness inside her heart. She started with the most basic of simple words that we all know. The ones that will start off a beautiful tale. 'Once upon a time..'
As she wrote, the once inhabitable world took a lush form. The gases became hard ground, the once black skies turned a beautiful blue, and the seas begun to sprout on the land. 'There were ponies who controlled the weather and could move the clouds...' she wrote and winds and fluffy white clouds spread across the sky. 'There were ponies who loved the animals of the fields and where of the earth...' She wrote and trees and grasses sprouted forth. 'There where ponies who loved the unknown and mysterious of the world and could do wonderful things....' she wrote and stars begun to sparkle from the night sky and creatures like dragons and griffons appeared and so the like. She was happy that she could use her gift of creation even though she knew the cost but she was not done. 'But there were ponies who controlled the world and made all three ponies come as one.' she wrote and her world was near complete. It was lush and full of mythical creatures but still no ponies. she knew they will come and she wanted to stand around and watch but her powers were depleting greatly. She was no god, not meant to create but she could and took the chance by using her powers. She continued to write and made the moon in the sky and the sun and the stars and gave each pony a talent to come and love. She felt the depletion of her magic and resisted it long enough to continue making the world in her final moments but soon she was done. She looked upon the world in beautiful and full array. Happy to see something like her, even if it didn't take shape just yet. The knowing was enough for her happiness. Her ponies where taking shape from the sky, land, and unknown. She knew she would not be around to see them completed but she didn't mind for the world will soon be done when they are done forming. With her magic gone but spared from the death in which we sadly face she drifted off into a deep slumber into a higher plain to never be seen again.
Out of the winds came the shape of a four legged horse. It had no wings but was majestic and magical flying through the clouds taking shape. Out came many more like it. They where ponies and where flying lovely and pretty. They where the ancestors of what we knew today, pegasi. The ground and mini trees begun to move and took shape like the wind ponies. beginning to move forward, insects followed them and flowers bloomed with every step they took. The benevolent ancestors to earth ponies. Later was the combination of beautiful stardust that fell from the night sky and took a mysterious shape. the shape was recognizable and formed a pony. This one had a presence of strong magic and had extensive knowledge before even the world. The ancestors to unicorns. Last but not least, as the winds combined, earth and mysteries combine, out came a unique creature that one can only describe as a unity. A single being of three. A combination of perfect Harmony alicorn.
Not long after many years afterwards, they begun to take form and shape. The embodiment of wind no longer, physical bodies they are of now. Wings flaps at their side in greatness and in the clouds have they made their home. The very first Pegasus to take the form that we know was known as Icarus. An excellent flyer and glider and first master of the skies itself. The earth ponies harvesting the land and took form as well. departing from their ancestors but no their love of nature. The unicorns took form and many grew horns that did wonders with magic. Everyone, now many centuries later closely resembles the ponies in which we know. Not quite so much as the earth ponies still had branches on them and plants and the wind and unicorns the same but soon will they will and soon something new will they all have. A young filly, the first to be born ran to an alicorn in hopes of trying to solve the mystery of the mysterious mark upon her flank. She couldn't get it off no matter how much she tried and sought help with no luck until she realized it represented what she loved to do. She knew it had to mean something and went on following her special talent. There it was upon her flank, the first cutie mark.

First Kingdoms to the Tree of Harmony
The first kingdoms where one of grandeur. From the dragons to the griffons to even the lands far from Equestria, nearly each race had a kingdom of some sort. The dragon kingdom was far to the south across the great bearing ocean and the griffons far to the north. The earth ponies had their own kingdom and so did the pagasi and unicorns. The ponies where now like what we saw today and each wanted to find their own purpose in life by gaining their new found cutie mark. A gift from the empress herself as she desired that every pony had a place in the workings of the world. The alicorns where beginning to represent what their special purpose was and so was all other ponies alike. Each one doing what they did best. The earth ponies did their part in gathering food and harvesting the land. They where important, if not just as more important than the other ponies. They where the best at what they did. The unicorns where elegant and graceful and continued their search form knowledge and the unknown. Wanting to discover wisdom and gain. The pegasi made their home in the clouds and wanted to unite as one. In order of the Pegasus king, the pegasi united from all over Equestria to make a new found city. That city would soon be where weather is made in all of Equestria and the first rainbows. Where the legend of the sonic rainboom originated and all pegasi lived as one.
That city we know even 'till this day as beautiful Cloudsdale. Saddle Arabia was one of ancient customs and traditions and horses abound there. While the sun scorched the land the inhabitants where welcomed in the sunlit sand. They made their home near oasis and flowing rivers. Many visitors did not come there as expected but welcomed all those who did in open arms. The Crystal Empire was located north near the crystal mountains. Many ponies have traveled there as crystals and gems of all types could be found and mined. The land sparkled and was home to the alicorn king who will carry down the family line. The ponies where no different and as thanks from the king to his loyal subjects, bestowed upon them crystal pelts of sparkling colors. Everfree forest was a welcoming place and was not filled with the dangers that it had now. Things where done differently there as animals fended for themselves and weather came and go and clouds moved about without help. Flowers of different arrays bloomed and birds of all types could be found. Manehatten wasn't much as it is now and steadily grew towards a developed city. Now the land of Equestria was taking shape and was beginning to shape itself into what it is now today but many more years will come before it will become recognizable.
For everything good there is bad, for everything nice there is ugly, and for everything bad there is good. The alicorns knew this all to well and knew that, though they where good now, evil and ugliness lurked only around the corner. There will be bad in the world as no world or thing is free from it. As long as there is free will, people, creatures, and ponies alike will abuse it. There was nothing to protect themselves from this evil. Nothing to guard the ponies from a bigger threat. The alicorns, being the strongest of all the creatures needed something to protect their subjects. They found it their duty as the ones who controlled the world to also be it's protectors. They all pinched in and decided on the creation of artifacts that will become the tools needed to defeat what ever came along from this day to onward. The selected alicorns set out and gathered gems suitable to withholding magic and gathered together in a council. They also needed a place to store what will become of these powerful gems and found a tree suitable in the far lands to withhold them. Together they imbued their magic into them. The alicorn who had ordained the search for these gems and the one who also found the tree placed them into the wide spread branches. The alicorn did not just want anyone to control these strong gems and hid and secured the location of where they where at. Only a select few will be able to wield these gems but soon, later in history they will have magic far greater than what they have now. The tree would soon disappear into myth and become a great symbol of the destinies of the select few who where lucky. Right now it was tree, will hidden, that contained a strong power.

"Absolute power corrupts."
The first rulers where odd ones indeed and would be the first to kick off the start of alicorns being refereed to as nobility and most of all royalty. The ruling family of Equestria had borne two young fillies that would follow in their footsteps and where the direct ancestors of Celestia and Luna. Twins by the name of Solis and Nix who was oddly born without wings. Solis was named after the sun. She was thick and very large. Taller and bigger than most ponies or stallions. She was cream colored and had a mane of multiple colors of the sun. Black, gold, red, orange, and yellow. Nix was named after the snow and was beautiful and graceful. She was white coated and had a mane made up of the colors of the snow. Blue, silver, purple and light blue was her and she was not as bulky nor as thick as her sister. When their parents gave up the throne they went on to rule over Equestria. One can argue however that they didn't have the benevolent attitude like Celestia and Luna but none would argue that as ancient rulers of Equestria by scholars they where certainly strong. Solis took her title as royalty seriously and demanded to be called 'her majesty' at all times. She was short tempered and nearly unapproachable to her subjects. She took her job seriously. Nix was the polar opposite and did not flaunt her royal status. She was calm, friendly at times and was popular with the unicorns. She was considered the most beautiful out of the two.
Together they ruled over the land and with that made it so that every kingdom worked their part. The sisters could care less about harmony, what they wanted was peace. They wanted the kingdoms and such to at the least tolerate each other and shall anything act up they won't hesitate to punish even the entire kingdom and it's populace. Innocent or guilty. Like Equestria is today,the unicorns helped when needed, pegasi controlled the weather and earth ponies cultivated the land. They rarely socialized at each other unless it was for gatherings. Solis begun the summer and the autumn and her sister Nix begun the winter and the spring but soon will their reign be cut short. Nix was being shunned and did not get the appreciation that her sister had long flaunted and bathed in. Nix begun to lock herself in her chambers and worked upon her fun loving crafts. It was Nix who made the tradition of creating a snowman and snow angel and the idea of Winter wrap up but much of what she had to do in history was gone. The more her sister Solis tried to indulge her into the affairs of her fellow pupils the more she ended up indulging herself. Nix only came out to nonetheless do her duty to begin the seasons of winter and spring. One day Solis came to find out that the snow refused to give way and knew that if it didn't subside it would create a disaster. Even though the sun held high in the sky the snow would not melt. Solis knew only one person who could do such a thing and that was her sister. Solis confronted her sister and pleaded and threatened her sister to end the winter now but she refused. Solis used her own magic, as difficult as it was, to rid the land of the sun but when Nix heard of this she grew outraged. She promised to keep the land in eternal cold and grew even bitter towards her sibling. Solis would have none of the nonsense and banished her sister to the badlands. A place so hospitable that not even water could flow there.
Though Nix was banished, she had a league of faithful followers. They followed her and together with her magic made the Badlands inhabitable for her ponies. The land was now split into two. The Eastern kingdom where Nix ruled the winter and spring and the Western Kingdom where Solis ruled the summer and Autumn. But the bitterness between the sisters will only grow more. Solis grew angered with the truth that her kingdom had been split into two. She had the birthright to rule the entire kingdom.She should be able to rule everything in it. She wanted what was hers back and she was going to get it back. Solis gathered her faithful subjects and invaded her sisters kingdom but Nix was prepared and with her ponies attacked back. History records that when the sisters fought the sisters where keened on destroying one another. The bitter hatred they had was so great that the fight lasted for three days. Even after their soldiers succumbed to their injuries. Solis and Nix used their powers to its full extent and attacked one another gruesomely. Fighting over the throne and right to control the land. The battle between them alone was one of great bloodshed. Nix stabbing Solis with her horn multiple times or Solis trying to literally burn her sister. Only when they have stopped and looked at what they had done would they truly see the damage. When they where through and exhausted from their battled, Solis and Nix looked upon the wreckage
they had caused. Their ponies lied injured and badly hurt and their kingdoms where harmed. The damage Ponies that had nothing to do with the battle was injured and and hurt. Houses where burnt and set ablaze and wrecked.
Entire fields where wiped out and turned to black ash. Most of Equestria could no longer be recognized. Kingdoms that had nothing to do with the fight became the unfortunate victims of the sisters rage. Nothing the sisters could do could make up for the damage they had caused. Solis and Nix knew the damage was probably greater but did not want to think about the idea that they had taken the lives of their own subjects. Solis and Nix hung thier heads down low and silently gazed upon the destruction. Even as so much as shedding tears from thier eyes.Using their earth pony and unicorn magic they restored the land to its lush green state and grandeur but it had caused them greatly of their earth pony and unicorn magic. The sisters from that day kept their distance and ruled in greater benevolence and love though the land was still split. The sisters later passed away at the young alicorn age of five hundred. Despite what they did their passing would be missed and sadly would hurt. The kingdoms of unicorns and pegasi and earth ponies would soon begin to inherit that bitter hatred as well. Towards each other.
Basic History of Equestria
This story begins with the passing of the rulers. With their passing came the inherit bitterness between their subjects and subordinates. The three pony species, pagasi, unicorns and earth ponies had developed a bitter hatred for one another deeply. Each still did their part but did so in payment for what they did. The earth ponies, under the rule of Chancellor Pudding Head, cultivated the land for all of them. In exchange the pegasi, under the rule of Commander Hurricane, took care of the weather. The unicorns in exchange, under the rule of Princess Platinum, added protection and controlled the sun and the moon. The 'tribes' as they where now called, did not care what the others did or what happened to them and only cared about what could happen, will happen, or won't happen to them. However the mistrust and hatred between the tribes grew to a boil and anger and hatred begun to brew into a complicated stew. They all begun to argue and stir until came that fateful day. The tribes where slammed down hard by a blizzard. Because of this blizzard the earth ponies could not grow any food and and all ponies begun to starve alike. The pegasi couldn't control the weather and the skies where so blocked that the sun couldn't shine through. The tribal leaders needed to do something about this and what was happening and met for a small summit to discuss the issue. The princess wanted to figure out why the pegasi couldn't have took care of such a mess themselves and blamed their laziness. The chancellor for the earth ponies blamed the unicorns for indulging in their 'pleasures' and selfishness for not bringing warmth to avoid this catastrophe. The commander of the pegasi blamed both of them for their wretchedness and insensibility. The summit did not resolve anything and only caused a fighting to brew between the three tribes. They would soon come to a decision search out a new place for themselves bringing their apprentices along with them Princess Platinum came across a lush field filled with fruit and wonderful trees next to her apprentice.
Commander Hurricane found a new place in which the clouds were suitable for formation of a new Cloudsdale and easier whether control. Chancellor Pudding Head found a place in which the soil was good and plentiful for farming and cultivating. Free of the blizzard, each one of them content made the new found land their home but there was one problem. They land they had settled on all have settled on. Turns out that not only did one tribe found the same land but all did. Once again disputes and tempers rose over who found it first and would claim it. Before long a small fight broke out and so did another blizzard. Their new land was now engulfed in the same catastrophe that over took the previous land. The tribal leaders, along with their apprentices found shelter in a cave but that close proximity did not stop their bitterness. The tribal leaders drew invisible lines marking their territory and fought over space and time. The anger and bitterness they had between them was so strong that they where beginning to be frozen by the snow until it was too late. The apprentices where left to fend for themselves. having only one another and not the bitter hatred that tore the tribes apart they shared wonderful and fun filled moments with each other. Laughing and giggling the storm away. Their passion burned like fire and with out even knowing, it turned out that the blizzards where being caused by the Windigos. Thought to have long been banished to Tartarus. To keep them at bay the apprentices continued their warmth filled conversation which later burned so greatly that it became the 'Fire of Friendship' which later vanquished the Windigos which fed off of the tribes hatred and melted the ice the leaders where encased in.
The apprentices told their leaders everything that had transpired and what caused the blizzard in the first place. The leaders called for another meeting and this time calmness and actual talks between them where a plenty. Putting their differences behind them they decided to become one and united under one flag calling their new land Equestria.
A certain unicorn had heard of the news who was from the unicorn tribe. He was young and indulged himself in books and the knowledge of the universe. His magical abilities was unmatched and well received and was well known for the tuft of white fur under his muzzle. His name was Star Swirl and had magical knowledge greater than anything and the only ones who knew where the ancient gems of the alicorns was. He met with the tribal leaders and told them that dangers may be free now but soon they would come. Star swirl knew they needed a way to protect themselves from danger as the alicorns themselves needed and the tribal leaders agreed. Star Swirl gathered up the magical imbued gems and presented them in front of the tribes. The apprentices would be first to imbued their new found magic into them son their selected friends Private Pansy was first. Star swirl used his magic to extract the magic from her and imbued the element of loyalty . Smart cookie came and imbued the element of kindness. Clover the clever came up and imbued the element of generosity . Princess platinum came and imbued *honesty . Chancellor Pudding head came up and imbued * Laughter** and last was Star Swirl himself who imbued Magic into the largest gem. Star swirl later returned the Tree of Harmony and placed them back. Suddenly before his eyes the tree changed. absorbing the magic imbued in the gems and becoming one with it. The Tree now looked what it looked today. Crystal like with crystals dangling from the branches. On the tree trunk was the mark of a something new, the mark of the sun and the moon. For Star Swirl this meant something but what he did not know. He departed on his way keeping the location of the now Elements of Harmony a secret until due time.
Two alicorns far away where celebrating the birth of their new filly. A baby with the colors of the moon as the oldest looked upon her sister in admiration and adoration. Her pink mane flowing and sparkling in a wonderful gaze.
"Her name is Luna." said the mother. The oldest smiled and repeated the name. "Luna. I like that name!" These two where destined to be special even though there time would be cut short.
The ancient alicorns knew that for everything there was an opposite. If there existed no opposite an opposite was created for it. For Good there was bad, for life there was death, for bad there was good, for sky there was land, for harmony....there was disharmony.
Basic History of Equestria
"Remember, it is usually the people who where your friends that becomes your worse enemy."
She was the most beautiful thing that I have ever saw. Her beautiful pink hair sparkled in the suns rays. Her pure white coat was of wonder and purity. How could anyone miss her? I had a love for beautiful things and she was of no exception. I have always wanted to be accepted as part of the family, as part of the group but no one ever wanted that. I don't know who my parents where and I don't know if I even had any at all. I know was that I had no control over what I was. I was a creature different from anything. The body of a snake, horns of a deer and goat, the head of a horse, tail and foot of a dragon, foot of a horse, and an eagles claw and lions paw for hands. I could walk on two legs or four if i so pleased and didn't logic. I was a mash up of different things and not a good one like the griffons. All my life I had lived in solitude. I wanted companionship and friendship and most of all love. Wouldn't anyone want that if they where the only one of their kind? I did. I heard of a land full of happiness and acceptance. I heard that 'they' hated each other but looked over their differences and made friends of one another. That's not what I received when I went there. I was shunned and I frightened the fillies. Didn't help that my magic was different too. Summoning things without effort out of thin air wasn't all the rage here. I once again found myself shunned until 'she' showed up. Her sister found me, a bluish pony who looked at me in wonder. She was the color of the night sky. Her mane flowing all blue. I was pretty much a teenager by then and in my nature impatient. She kept asking me questions and eventually wondered off to tell her sister. When her sister appeared I fell in love. She was beautiful. She would visit me every day in this dark and lonely cave and she would smile and we would talk for hours on end saying how my magic was unique and could be used for good. I fell in love with her. The daughter of the ruling family. Didn't help she was unique as well. A unicorn who could fly. You didn't see those everyday. I invited her over during sunset one day. Hoping she would understand. Accept me and like me. "Do you love me?" I gave her flowers and presented myself to her but she looked at me with a pitiful face and stepped back upon seeing the bouquet.
She shook her head. "No, no, I can't..." She looked up with tears in her eyes. She ran away and paid me no mind on the way. I looked at the flowers and sighed. I will try again, with the ponies, the creatures. So I did but they all saw me the same. A beast that should not exist. One who did not make sense, one who should not be accepted. I cursed their name and I gave them what they wanted. The daughter of the ruling family couldn't even accept me. I like giving gifts and I gave them the best gift of all. A beast and a monster.
I realized that everything I was told about this 'wonderful' place was a lie. A fairy tale, a fantasy. I had only one true love and that true love was in my very nature I came to find out. Order was never cut out for me. For everything there is an opposite. For an angel I was it's demon. For a God I was it's king. For a herbivore I was its carnivore. For an existence of harmony I was it's disharmony. 'monster' that they had shunned in a land supposedly filled with love and acceptance had the power to make them miserable. I love jokes. After all I found myself hilarious. Laughter What fools. They may be descended from a goddess but they where not as strong as the 'ancient ones' I have heard about. I set in motion all the events that would lead to their destruction. Disease, famine, weakness. Their magic wasn't powerful enough to save them and they too where still dependent on the things that regular ponies needed. Eventually, there was none left. Not. A. Single. One.
Or so I thought.
Two pressy little princesses survived and they used their magic to ruin my creation. They used their powers to bring forth the rains and the lush green grasses and rid the world of my own diseases. I was not pleased. No not at all. They restored order and balance. Plants grew, famine found salvation and the drought was quenched. I made sure that I will take great pleasure in their suffering. But I underestimated them. They discovered these 'Elements of Harmony' and chased me from my throne. Not letting me stop. When I could go no further, they where waiting. Ready to face me. They fought me physically during the chase and injured me pretty badly. I was cornered. I snarled at them and bared my teeth but they stood their ground and looked at me with hatred and anger. Something I knew all too well. Being turned to stone is a horrific experience. The pain? Unimaginable. But you know what the worse part was? The last thing I saw, was 'Her'
After being freed...
The time came for me to wreck havoc again. To finish what I begun. To create again what was destroyed. But why didn't I do that? I only loved chaos so what was holding me back? Nothing much, all except the love for one pony that was.
Basic History of Equestria
Celestia's and Luna's Reign
Discords reign may have been short but it was a harsh one. He had destroyed practically everything in Equestria and it was only the combined strengths of the two sisters, Luna and Celestia, that everything was well again. It was a slow build but the ponies would eventually get back up on their feet. Many lives were lost and many souls were hurt but soon happiness would find its way again. With the alicorns gone, the unicorns where now tasked with bringing up the sun and moon. This alone was a immense and stressful task. It took immense power to raise the sun and moon and in doing so required six unicorns. Star Swirl leading each pack as he was the most powerful. If a unicorn did it for too long their powers where wiped out..forever. The alicorns that defeated the beast known as Discord was gone and no where to be found. It had been a total of sixty years passed since then. One of the alicorns who was out on stroll, looked on to see a group of unicorns before her. The unicorns struggled hard to raise the sun. They where turning blue and their magic was depleting. Star swirl did his best to ag them on as the sun was nearing its peak but he too could feel the effects of the magic depleting. The alicorn could not stand to see the ponies trying so hard to raise the sun. Seeing their magic being depleted. The unicorns had all fallen out except Star Swirl who was doing his best to finish the job. losing his color and his powers quickly. The alicorn could not stand it any longer. She ran out into the group. "Stop! Please!" She closed her eyes and her horn glowed a yellow. The unicorns all watched in 'aw' as the pony before them was raising the sun with ease laying the sun brightly and high into the sky. Star Swirl had obtained his magic back and so did the unicorns. His color was even restored. The unicorns asked Star Swirl how on earth a single pony could do such a thing. Star Swirl later pointed to her and they saw the wings she bore and horns. It was an actual live alicorn! An alicorn had not been seen since the ruling family had perished and Discord reigned. Star Swirl then preceded to point towards her flank. On it was her cutie mark in the shape of the sun. Luna came later searching for her and earned a few more gasps from the unicorns. Now before them not stood only one, but two alicorns!
Star Swirl later was invited to the location of where the pony sisters kept to themselves. He recognized it as the Castle of the ruling family before Discords reigned as it was located deep into Everfree forest which had, by now, became a place of dangers. The two alicorns introduced themselves as Celestia and Luna. He remebered those names all too well. They where his students. The ones he was teaching to learn how to be rulers and control their magic. He introduced himself and Celestia and Luna remembered as well. He was old and up in age and looked vastly different than from before. He talked with them and stated that it had been fifty years since any alicorn had been seen and that most, if not all, where gone. Discord had killed them off. Celestia and Luna embraced each other as they remember the harsh moments where their mother, the very embodiment of the dawn and galaxies caressed them and sacrificed herself by giving them food and using her own magic to heal them from Discords made illnesses. Their father, the embodiment of stars and comets fought with he other alicorns only to be tossed around like toys. Tears filled the two sisters eyes. The traps in the castle that was laid down by Luna and the fun moments they had by playing pranks where now gone and for those fifty years they both had mourned their parents death. Star Swirl had also stated that unicorns for those years had sacrificed their magic in order to raise the sun and moon which made them both feel guilty. He later mentioned how alicorn magic was different and stronger than any other pony magic and how their ancestors, themselves alone where probably powerful enough to stop Discord. He later mentioned the tree of harmony and asked if that where the sisters took hold of them. Turns out that Celestia and Luna had heard tales about the Tree of Harmony from their parents and Star Swirl but neither of them thought that it existed until that was Star Swirl showed them the tree. They where to become the first bearers of the elements. Celestia and Luna however bugged him questions about the star shaped mark in the middle of the tree but Star Swirl had refused to tell them about it.
Celestia however knew that mark meant something and told herself that in due time the meaning would come. Star Swirl later asked if Celestia and Luna would take their parents place and become rulers of Equestria and keep the peace and harmony between the three tribes. After all, he thought, why not have a ruler that represented the union between all three? They where reluctant at first but took on the responsibility. Star swirl would soon continue on teaching them about the elements and how to rule. Celestia knew one day that her time as ruler would eventually come to pass and she wanted Star Swirl to fulfill that role. the news broke about them being the children of King Their coordination was filled with fanfare with the sparkling arrays of the ponies.No longer did the ponies had to struggle to raise the sun and the moon and they finally had protectors. They where looked upon and honored after that and earned the respect of neighboring kingdoms. Celestia made it her duty to unite the kingdoms and so did. Celestia and Luna went to each kingdom to unite them. Saddle Arabia had been on bad terms with the ponies before the tribes where united and did not welcomed their new ruler with open arms but Celestia eased them of their skepticism and befriended them. The Crystal Empire ruler did not meet in person but instead sent his messengers to discuss talks with Celestia and report back. The ruler agreed and news where bought back to Celestia and Luna. Crossing the great bearing ocean was one of danger and trial and many lives where lost in the great storms that forever was stored there but Celestia and Luna went through using their magic to protect them and their adventuring ponies. One was done and now they set forth to go to and discover kingdoms that had not even known Equestria to exist.
The sisters came back after their unification of nations had been through. It took them a hefty three years to settle everything between the nations and each where finally getting some well earned intimate time together away from the burdens that came with being a ruler. Luna still did not earn her cutie mark. "Sister! I can do this by myself!"
"If you say so Luna." Celestia chuckled. Celestia was skillful in her raising of the sun and knew that Luna would soon be too. It took her practice but with time she raised the sun with little effort. Luna squinted her eyes and raised herself into the air. Her horn glowing a deep purple. The moon raised high with little hesitation. Luna fell down and Celestia flew up to catch her.
"Can I open them?"
"Yes, Luna." Luna looked up and saw the beautiful silver moon before her. It would become her pride and glory but she had one more thing to do. "No stars Luna?"
"No, not this time."
"I tell you what, you continue practicing and raising the moon and I will handle the stars until you are ready." Luna smiled.
"Thank you, big sister." The sisters held and embraced one another and slept under the beautiful sky which was there fathers pride. The reflection of the moon showing clearly and beautiful on the younger's flank.

Fall of the Crystal Empire
The Crystal Empire is one of beauty and ravishment and one with popularity with tourists. It sparkled with the very gems and crystals it was made up out of and shined a brilliant radiance of admiration. It had its own train and was one of power. one does not earn the name of empire for nothing. The ponies themselves glistened with the glow of their blessing from one of the kings who ruled long ago in the kingdoms early stages. This blessing made their coats themselves shine with the same radiance of crystals and gems and was passed down every since to other generations of little colts and fillies. The kingdom harvested gems from mines and was the leader producer of fine things. They where the symbol of envy of the unicorn tribes and kingdoms and was greatly adored and one of the few kingdoms in which a king was more of a titled than princess simply. The king however was one of mystery. If a pony were to ask whether or not a crystal pony if they themselves have saw their own king they will probably be looked upon in confusion. The king never came out of the castle that stood in the center of the kingdom and for any discussion or debate or any political reason sent his trusty representatives. This was frowned upon greatly by the meeting of kingdom rulers and leaders at councils as it was looked upon as a failed duty as a ruler. The crystal ponies themselves didn't seem to be bothered with it though and continued on with their daily lives. Celebrations were few and any type of royal speech and such was not cared. The kingdom has not seen trouble since the start of its founding and did not believe trouble would come any time soon. For now they could be carefree and indulge in whatever they did best.
Celestia and Luna never did see the king in person during their trip in uniting the kingdoms from this land and far away lands. The journey had been tiring and it was a shame that one of the kingdoms that was one of the very first ones they united didn't even allow them to see the king. Celestia had thoroughly been wondering if the king had important royal duties or just wanted to be left alone. For Luna however she just labeled him as antisocial and left it alone. Celestia had even sent letters more than once to king hoping for a direct response but with no luck. It was always if not sent back with it signed by one of his representatives. Celestia decided to use her royal privileges as ruler of the land and decided to go there herself. She even went and bought Luna who was very much not wanting to attend as she could care less. Celestia and Luna arrived at the Crystal Empire and was greeted by sparkling streets and fanfare. A hotel was ready for them and so was other staying necessities. Celestia didn't surprise appearances and in doing such sent a letter to the kingdom itself to be prepared for their arrival. Little did she know however that her arrival was to be met with the very pony who she wanted to see. She was greeted by one of the royal assistants and was led into the crystal castles waiting room. The pony told them reluctantly to wait and trotted off into what seemed like the kings bedroom. Luna wasn't pleased that as a princess she had to wait but
Celestia calmed her sister of her impatience. Eventually it paid off. Out came the king himself. He was not simply a pegasus, he was not simply a unicorn, he was certainly not just an earth pony but was an alicorn like herself and her sister. Next, by his very side he had a grey coated black maned unicorn colt. Obviously a teenager and was quite shy. The king gestured to him and the sisters to introduce himself. He walked up to them-Luna not so amused-and bowed down.
"Hello, my name is Sombra and I am an apprentice of the king."
The king invited the two princesses to a feast and talked about all sorts of matter with them with Sombra sitting next to him. Sombra was a small foal when the king found him living in an orphanage of young ponies. Orphaned and abandoned he took him in and trained him in magic and other spells and such. He was to inherit the kingdom and everything with it and the king sought to make him a great wizard like Star Swirl. He saw within sombra the makings of a great leader and took him to be raised in the Crystal empire. The king never had an easy time socializing and preferred to spend his time alone in silence. He was an alicorn and outlived any other pony. Perhaps it was the fear of loss that kept him from finding a mate. An heir was never pressed upon unless the ruler didn't live to be centuries of years old. After all, when you had a king who seemingly lived forever in the public eye, why an heir? But all that will change. A new representative was recruited when the other had gotten sick and was having a hard time recovering. She was a unicorn by the name of Ms. Mi Amore. An odd name around these parts but was nonetheless accepted. The king and her became close despite her tendency to talk a bit too much and her clumsiness at times and grew closer. She was frowned upon around the castle despite her good looks and was usually kept away from helping as she knew she would probably mess up on something. The king didn't take long for him to enjoy her company and before long big news was announced. For what seemed like the very first time the king appeared in public on the balcony of the castle with Sombra on his right and Ms. Mi Amore on his left standing by his side. Mi Amore was now married to the king and was expecting a filly. All the kingdom was overjoyed except one. Sombra was no longer to inherit the kingdom but become a royal teacher and leader to his newborn daughter. Sombra was to inherit the kingdom but now that hope was gone. He had put up a good act to cover up his jealously and had even asked the king why he did such a thing as to bring that 'thing' of his into the world when the new princess was finally born. Sombra received less attention from the king as most of the royal courts and visitors was too busy fighting over to see the new baby which had helped the king go out into the sun more now. Sombra continued to practice his magic and spells in silence. His anger being no more than tolerated by him.
Sombra woke up late at night unable to go asleep and made his way to the royal library. There he stumbled upon a book with a fuzzy title and begun to read it's contents. They where spells, forbidden spells that no pony should even attempt to subdue. the crystal library contained a great amount of dark magic books. Sombra tested the spells and found them easy to wield. The things he was allowed to do with these types were greater than average spells. He loved the new found power that surged through him and with that he would sneak into the library every night and find more books like it. A forbidden drug that continued to eat at his heart until there was nothing left but evil. Sombra wished to prove to his beloved king that he will be able to live up to a higher expectation. So after that day he continued on, practicing the forbidden magic in hopes of proving that it can be tamed but it will soon be futile.
The day was sunny but it was filled with darkness. Today the kingdom was to celebrate the first birthday of the princess but instead they would be celebrating the kings death. The king was found lying dead in his room. He was old looking and looked as if he hadn't eaten in years. His crystal coat gone and he was one of grey. His powers had been drained and with that so did his life. The princess and queen was led into the bottom quarters of the castle until safety could be assured by the guards. Mi Amore held her little filly tight as she could hear the commotion. Sombra was gone too and with that started the days of a reign that no one would forget.
Sombra walked towards the balcony of the castle. He had knocked out most of the guards who had dared tried to stop him and killed the king. Adding insult to injury, he even wore the kings regal robe in sinister pride. he was completely unrecognizable. He had the kings royal robe on and metal clad regalia and shoes. His pupil was that of a sickly purple and green fumes poured from both his eyes. He announced his reign in a harsh tone and with that a curse. He stood up and his horn, red tipped and sharpened glowed with the power of dark magic and blasted the crystal heart. The artifact that kept the kingdom peaceful and calm. A gift from the 'ancient ones' when they discovered the amount of love the ponies had in this part of the land. It was now infected and tainted with hatred. The castle was encased in dark magic and black crystals. The ponies where bland and no longer sparkled. The skies where of that of crimson red. The ponies stared and saw their hooves become connected by the magical chains that wrapped around their hooves and neck. They where now slaves and subjects of the new king. While all of this happened, in the safety of the castles underground quarters, laid a mother doing her best to keep her little filly from crying. Sombra had forced the work of mining dark crystals and was seeking the target he wanted most....the kings daughter. He himself wanted to seek her out and kill her personally. Get rid of the mother first and later the precious child. But all will soon fall out of plan. Two princesses had heard word of his corruption.
Celestia and Luna were approached by two representatives who had stated that Sombra had taken control of the kingdom and killed off the royal family. They managed to escape the massacre that Sombra had caused. Celestia and Luna was outraged and tears of sadness filled their eyes. Luna could not stomach what they were saying and turned her head in horror. They needed to catch him off guard and defend the ponies and the kingdom and free Sombras hold. Celestia and Luna arrived at the kingdom late at night and confronted Sombra. Anger filled the elder sisters eyes when she laid eyes on the kings dead body. Laying there, still in is room with little movement. Celestia and Luna fought him as best as they could but Sombra knew all to well the power of the sisters combined. Especially with the Elements of Harmony in their hooves. Before the battle, in which Sombra was very much expecting, he casted a spell that encased the entire kingdom. When the princesses thought that they were about to win, hey watched in horror as the kingdom vanished before their eyes. Only the wicked laughter of the king could be heard in the shadows promising to return as Celestia and Luna stood at the spot at which they fought. Snow falling harshly down and blanketing were the once glorious kingdom once laid. They had lost. Lost everything. The kingdom, it's ponies, and even the very princess they had grew to admire. It all was now gone. Celestia nudged at her sister who laid on the ground bleeding. She had been injured by the dark magic and Celestia cried on top of her wounds. There was nothing they could do but go back home and enjoy the calm silence of their despair.
All was gone but a single mother who had used her precious magic to protect her and her filly. The dark magic was eating away at her health but she pulled up the strength to leave the snowy north and carried her filly on her back as she struggled to walk. She came across a path in a forest and heard the sounds of nearby hooves. She lifted up her filly calmly and gently placed her on the path the two ponies near by was walking. The ponies saw her and wondered were she came from. Without hesitation the colt and mare earth pony picked her up and carried her way home. The mother smiled happy to know that her filly will be loved and cared for and shut her eyes which will never open again.
Basic History of Equestria
Celestia's and Luna's lost to king Sombra was met with gloom and despair. The announcement of the failure to protect the kingdom was apparent on their faces. Celestia was having a hard enough time as it was just trying to stomach all of which had transpired. The royal family was dead, the crystal heart tainted, and the kingdom gone. Celestia had to even announce that Luna was badly injured and would not be able to perform her duties as princess of the night. The bat ponies took this to heart. Princess Luna was their only princess and one that was looked upon as mother of the moon. Celestia was now burdened with not only the struggles of being a princess and failure trying to protect the Crystal Empire but now she had to watch over her dear sister and perform the royal duties of both the day and the night. Luna's absence at court allowed her to be the focus of politics and councils as well as public opinion. Celestia was placed under an amount of great stress due to her sisters condition. When Luna finally healed and returned back to her royal duties all was not well. Celestia, burdened by the amount of responsibilities she had to endure happily gave some away to the council which was made up of strong pony leaders from all three kingdoms and other leaders and nobles from the nations they united. This left Luna with not much to do but the control of the night itself. Rumors begun top spread about the younger sister. Fear that she may be infected with dark magic and she would cause the fall of a kingdom next. Details that Luna was not capable of performing her royal duties correctly or at all. Celestia was concerned about her sisters unhappiness and did not like the rumors being spread. Celestia announced that the rumors being spread about her sister should be stopped and did not approve at all of what was being said. Celestia was recognized, still, as more of a princess than Luna's and with that her return was very much unnoticed.
Celestia did her best to try and help her sister regain her authority but Celestia was more in focus of the public than anything else. A split was growing between the sisters that continued to widen. Luna's resentment grew and Celestia could not understand her sisters sadness. Her efforts to include Luna only amplified her fanfare and her praise. Luna now only came out of the castle only to fulfill her duties as to raise the moon. Little did she know she would be missed upon her inhabitants of the night. In order to make up for her lost time at court Luna worked on her celestial craft. Sculpting constellations and moon phases. It was the night princess herself that created the phases and constellations that we now study and know today. Unfortunately, astronomy was not a popular then and Celestia lamented that she could not match her sisters craft. Luna's hard work went unnoticed and resentment eventually overcame her. She stopped her duties all together and left the moon in the sky. The ponies woke up to a night far longer than what it should have been. the sun itself was naturally more important than the moon which only made Luna feel more unwanted. Without the sun the crops will not grow and life would slowly wither and they would too. Celestia tried to convince her sister to lower the moon but she was locked away in her bed chambers refusing to come out and listen. Celestia went out and reluctantly set the moon with some difficulty. It took awhile but she finally did. the ponies clamored and praised Celestia for what she done but for Luna, it was the last straw.
Outraged by her sisters actions, Luna seized control of the moon and placed it high in the sky over the sun and from it's blackness came the wicked nightmare moon. Celestia refused to fight her sister but was left with no choice but to use the elements of harmony. The battle lasted for quite some time and was aggressive. No one pony could fully wield the elements and so Celestia could only banish her sister to the moon. as she did the image of a mare shown on the face of the moon. It was clear. Luna was gone and she was now truly alone. The elements refused to listen and now laid dormant. Celestia let out a scream of despair that she never did before and fell to the ground with tears filling her eyes in a non-ending stream of waterfalls. the castle was destroyed and no longer good to be inhabited. Celestia went inside the castle that now lies in ruin and went into her bedchamber. as she cried herself to sleep she watched as her pink mane turned into the colors of both the day and night.
Basic History of Equestria
Celestia looked up into the dark sky of which no stars could be seen. No clouds, no light, not even the gentle glow of the moon could soothe her aching heart. It had been three days sense Luna's banishment and not once was she able to rest. The castle in which they themselves grew up in was destroyed and she laid in it's ruins, in her bed chamber, alone and sad. She looked up into the moon which had been her father's pride passed down to her baby sister. Celestia remembered the lullabies of which she sung to her on how the soft coo's of the owl and the flapping of the bat wings to the beautiful stars in the sky will all be her's someday. Celestia stared at the moon, forever showing the reminder of her sisters banishment in the image of a mare. Her hair reminding her of the night as well in the colors of both day and night. The elements adding insult to injury by not responding to her and lying flat. If only Luna knew that it was her who was more jealous. Celestia remembered when she first met her baby sister for the first time and gazed upon all she would soon inherit. The constellations she could create, the moon which was pure, and the beautiful stars of the night sky. The only thing she looked forward to was the blinding light of her sun and the dull skies of eternal blue. Celestia used her magic to summon a feather pen and sheet of paper that laid on the floor in front of her and begun to write:
Dear sister,
If only you knew that it was me who was more jealous of you. The joy that was upon my face at the sight of my new baby sister and the beauty that you held. You were gentle and kind and sweet and well tempered, how could I have sent you away? We would stay up and play in the woods and I would stop and gaze up into the night sky which all will soon be yours. The blinding light of my ray's was not something I cared so much for when I realized your precious moon. The sun, once my pride and glory was nothing compared to yours. No one could look my sun in the eyes for if they did their eyes would burn and hurt and all it did was block out everything that was beautiful in the sky selfishly leaving only the dull clear skies in the horizon. Your moon was gentle and sung lullabies to the fillies ears and your sky was decorated with beautiful jewels and crafts created by your own hooves. Your moon was one who changed and did not succumb to the same thing. It changed here and there giving us something to see. On some day's it would show half, on others whole, and sometimes it would disappear all together reminding me of your playful behavior. Your constellations, your crafts, I remember how father made the first one just for you and made it real. A bear that shined with stars and glittered blue. You named it Ursa Minor and you would play with the cub fondly and watch over it when it's mother, Ursa Major, father's other gift to you, was out. If only I knew what was wrong, how to handle thing's and be a better princess, than perhaps, just maybe, I could have saved you from that evil. I will never know why the elements sent you to moon...why * I** sent you to the moon so I write this letter to you in hopes you hear my cries. Luna, if only you knew it was me who was more jealous of you.*
Basic History of Equestria
The last thing Twilight remembered was the feeling of magic running through her veins before being teleported to this unknown place. She had awoken that day in hopes of it being evil creature free and malice free only to be greeted by Rarity and all her other friends doing things that they were not meant to do. From Fluttershy trying to entertain people to Rainbow Dash doing her best to tame wild creatures. What was suppose to be a normal day was now becoming a day that would never be forgotten. It wasn't long before those strange things happened that a message was given to her by Princess Celestia herself to fix a spell that Star Swirl, her idol, could not do. Before she knew it, in the fixing of the spell, she was here. In this starry, blue lit place that had nothing to it but the shimmering of is seemingly white flakes. "Hello? Is anybody here?" Twilight yelled out into the distance. 'Where am I?' she asked herself. "Why if it isn't my faithful student, Twilight Sparkle. Congratulations, I knew you could do it." Twilight glanced over to see Princess Celestia in all her regal glory. "Celestia!" Twilight walked over to her teacher and hugged her. Twilight was unsure of what was going on but Celestia calmed her thoughts. "You've done something that not even a great wizard like Star Swirl could do because he did not understand friendship like you did. Your lessons have taught you well Twilight. You have proven that you're ready."
"Ready for what?" Celestia guided Twilight down the starry path and moving images of Twilight's journey appeared before them. "Twilight, do you know where you are at right now?" Twilight looked at her confused. "No, I really don't....AM I'M DEAD?!!" Twilight said in immediate panic. Celestia chuckled. "No Twilight you are in another realm. Welcome to the place far above Equestria, the Starry Plane of Elysian."
"The starry plane of Elysian?"
"Yes Twilight, this place is the entry way to where the great goddess lives. These images of you and you being sent here was no accident nor my own doing but her's. She decides who will be next, she decides who will rise above and take their place as the next representative of harmony."
"I don't understand princess...what are you trying to say?"
"Perhaps an explanation is in order." Celestia's horned glowed and another moving image appeared, this time, in front of them. It was stylized in classic old drawings. "Before we came, before the world came, there was one pony who lived before us and had the great power to create. Our world came about in her desire to make what she wished real and create a land built upon her thoughts and ideas and lessons. The power to create is something that she only has the power to do but she was no god. To create merely something any one can do, but to create a living functioning planet, that was another story."
"What happened?"
"The great goddess used every single bit of her power to create this world out of an existing one. She created all that we see Twilight, the ponies, the pegasi, this realm, you and me. No one knows fully of what happened to her. Some say she moved on to create other worlds, others state that she watches silently above, some may even say that she lies in deep slumber but a single fact lays certain, her conscious still lives on in the form of an avatar so that she may always be with us. Our mother mare, the great goddess Faust
"If she bought me here and based on what you explained, does that mean that I am now more important?" Twilight said trying to understand. Celestia smiled at her student."All ponies are important Twilight but you are about to reach out to something greater and will soon your influence shall spread to not just the simple confines of Ponyville but all of Equestria." Celestia and Twilight felt a soft shaking of what was supposedly the ground and before their eyes was a grand staircase beaming with light appeared. It had a red carpet extending down the stairs which seemed to be leading to somewhere further up. Celestia looked to her student. "Now Twilight, she waits." Twilight unsure of herself glanced at the staircase than back at her mentor only to be given a silent reassuring nod. She let out a deep breath and trotted up the grand stairs as Celestia looked on. When Twlight reached the top she noticed that she was in a large building reminiscent of a temple. She looked outside the large windows which showed the clear blue sky outside and took note of her surroundings. The huge columns were made out of luxuries marble and the ceiling told events of everything that had happened in the history of Equestria. She even recognized a few faces such as Star Swirl and Discord. The entry way, which was the hole she stepped through and led back down to the starry plane, closed up behind her causing her to worry a bit. She begun to walk down the long red carpet. Twilight could see the intricate details of every mosaic and sparkling marble of the floor and columns.
As she walked down the long bright hall and carpet she was stopped in her tracks by a majestic and over powerful sight. In front of her was a throne that shined in pure marble and gold. There was a circular wave of magical energy that flowed around the bottom and top of the throne in the color of red and sat upon that throne was a great mare that she herself could not fathom. The pony was tall and bigger than a stallion and had many wings. Her hair flowed to the side like that of Luna's and Celestia's but was a simple color of brunette. Her eyes glowed a deep white like that of Luna when she got angry. she was surely a sight to behold. Twilight bowed down before the mare as she suspected that this had to be the creator of her world. The mare smiled gently and raised her head up high gathering magic that at Twilight herself could feel. her horn glowed brightly with a golden hue and her mane lifted behind her head. Twilight was not sure what was to happen and shook nervously. The mare looked at Twilight again and shot her magic at her causing Twilight to be lifted into the air by swirling blurs of magic and in a flash she was gone. Back to Ponyville that was as Twilight showed off her new pair of wings as her friends looked about her in 'aw'. They were soon accompanied by Celestia herself.
"No longer are you a student of me Twilight, but we are to you."

I am * Celestia. The great watcher of the lands. The watcher of all that is under the sun's eye. My glory shines bright with the glory and anticipation of the sun. None may see me as all who do are blinded by my gaze. It is I who greets the sun and let it shine upon every pony and **every thing. None may match my strength and none may stand in my place for generations of knowledge and power flows through these eternal veins. I am life and life is dead when I am gone....*
I am * Luna. The great sister to the sun. **Do not judge me or make me out as inferior. It is I who give you rest from the sun's glowing gaze and it's burning wrath. Light shines gentle and is youthful to the eye. The creatures of the night obey me as the sun's does not. The constellations that keep you company, the northern star that guides you, and the changing of the moon is I who control's everything. Who is it that makes the constellations real and gives it body like Ursa minor and major? Who is it that makes the stars obey thou wishes? It is me, Thou Princess of the Night! *
I am * Discord.** Laughter is my joy weather my own pain or yours . The alicorns feared me and my magic unlimited. Who can make anything come true? Who can make anything bend to my will? It is I! The God of Chaos! The boredom of perfectness shall wrought in flesh as I carry out nature's perfect plan. For everything there is opposite. For I am.....Discord. *
I am * Star Swirl.** Star Swirl the Bearded . Star swirl the Great. Star Swirl the Powerful . No matter what I am call I will always be remembered in the great tales and legends, no , history of this world. It was me who earned the alicorns respect . It was I who made and invented many incredible spells far beyond your comprehension. No unicorn may surpass me in skill. You new princess may be near my level, but that is all she will be. Near . For I am and will always be, Star Swirl. *
