It was her weekly discussion with Twilight. Sunset would tell her all the goings-on at CHS, while Twilight would write to her about how life has been in Equestria. The book glowed as the words magically appeared. Nothing much. Reading a bunch of books, waiting for the next invasion of Equestria or a giant monster. Typical Princess stuff. And You? How have things been at Canterlot High? Pretty fun. Graduation is coming up soon, so Pinkie is planning a huge 'Goodbye Canterlot High' party and concert if you're interested. That sounds great! I'll be sure to attend. I assume we'll have to sing for the school? Pinkie didn't mention anything like that, but I'm sure she'll find a way to but us in the concert. That reminds me, have you found anymore information on Sirens back in Equestria? Nothing really. Dang. That's a bummer. There was a long wait with no words being written in the journal. Sunset. Are you really sure you want to seek out and befriend the Sirens? There's not a shadow of a doubt in my mind. Why do you ask? It's just, I'm not so sure they're worth redeeming. Twilight, I can't believe you would say that. If you and you're friends reformed chaos incarnate, than I think three sirens that only hypnotized a couple of High School students deserve the benefit of the doubt. Sunset, it almost sounds like you're defending them. Another pause. Well, maybe I am. Sunset, I can't believe this. They tried to take over Equestria for Celestia's sake! So did I, Twilight. And yet you redeemed me. So why shouldn't I try redeeming them? That's different. These girls feed off of chaos. They're very nature practically makes them irredeemable. I don't care. Whatever it takes, I'm gonna redeem them I have some homework to get to, I'll talk to you next week. Alright. And with that, Sunset closed the book... One Week Later Hey Twilight. Listen, I'm sorry for what happened last week. I hope we can move past it and still be friends. For awhile, no words were written. After an hour...Alright, I understand, you don't want to talk to me. Maybe next week. One Week Later Hey. No response. Are you still not talking to me? No response. Alright. I'll talk to you next week. One Week Later Hi. Nothing. Twilight, please. I'm sorry for causing our argument. I promise I won't pursue the Sirens anymore. I just want us to have our conversations and friendship back... Dear friends, It is with a heavy heart that I must inform you I am going on a journey back to Equestria. If you look at the previous pages, you will see Twilight and I had a falling out, and she has yet to accept my apology. I am going to apologize to her in person. Please don't follow me, as I need you guys to watch over the Sirens in case they discover the portal or somehow get their powers back. You five are the only ones that can stop them. Please don't worry, as I am going to return as soon as I can. Your friend, Sunset Shimmer "Sunset went back to Equestria?" said Pinkie. "Looks like it." said Applejack. "What are we gonna do?" asked Fluttershy to Rainbow. "It's obvious what he have to do. We're gonna storm in there and help her." "You heard Sunset. She said she needs us here to keep an eye on the Sirens." said Rarity, "Oh, what are they gonna do? You heard what Twilight said, they're harmless now. Now let's go!" The five friends ran out of the school and to the horse statue that held the portal. Rainbow was at the front of the pack, and as she was running, she felt a large thud crash against her face. Before she knew it, she was on the ground. "What happened?" Applejack placed her hand on the now solid part of the statue. "It looks like the portal has been closed y'all." "But how? Twilight told us she found a way to keep the portal open." pondered Rarity... One Hour Earlier The Sirens stood outside the doors to Canterlot High. "Adagio, why did you bring us here? I thought we were done with this lame place." said Aria. "Yeah, I thought we were just gonna do what we always do. Dine and dash." said Sonata. "This isn't like those other times. We've lost our pendants, but I think if we can work ourselves into the inner circle of Sunset Shimmer and her friends, they'll use their magic to fix them, then we can get out of this dump and on to our next source of energy." "One problem with your logic there, the Rainbooms don't want anything to do with us." "Not necessarily." The two Sirens now shared confused looks. "Sunset Shimmer has been trying to befriend us ever since the musical showcase. We become friends with her, then we become friends with the others, and then..." A silhouette neared the translucent door. "Someone's coming! Hide!" said Sonata. The three girls jumped into the bushed on either side of the school. The doors flew open, and out came Sunset Shimmer in a huff with a backpack. "Oh, it's just her." "Shh!" Sunset ran to the seemingly worthless statue of a horse in the school's front yard. She placed a hand on it, and to the surprise of the Dazzlings, it disappeared into the statue. Sunset began to walk into the statue, and soon, she was gone. "Wait a minute, didn't you say that Sunset was from Equestria like us? You don't think that statue leads to..." "There's only one way to figure it out." Adagio and the Dazzlings ran towards the statue, and soon, they felt a strange feeling, like their body's were being contorted to fit some new form... Adagio woke up first, and gained an evil smile as she looked down at her hooves.

Sunset was faced down on a metallic surface, and as she got up, she saw two familiar yellow hooves in front of her, She picked herself up, and turned around. In the mirror she had just come out of was something she had not seen in over 30 moons; herself as a pony. In the corner of the reflection was a green and purple blob coming closer to her. She turned again. "Spike?" "It is you!" The little dragon embraced the Unicorn. "What are you doing here in Equestria? Did something happen?" "No, everything's fine. It's just..." Sunset attempted to get up, but her hooves gave in on her. "Augh, I guess it's been awhile since I've used my hooves, there a little wobbly." "That's okay, just tell me what you need. If you're looking for Twilight, she's staying at the Crystal Empire for the week." "She is? Dang, I was hoping she'd be here." "Why?" "Well, last month, Twilight and I got into an argument cause I want to befriend the Dazz-" Before Sunset could finish, the mirror started to glow, and out came three ponies. The first to come was a yellow pony with an orange mane and yellow streaks, tied back with a spiked headband. The next two were pink and light blue, with purple and green pigtails and a light and dark blue ponytail respectively. On their backs were wings, but unlike those of a Pegasus or Alicorn, they were translucent and featherless. The yellow one sat up, and gained a devilish smile. "The Dazzlings!" Spike said with fear as he stood behind Sunset. "Ah, after all these years, we've come home." said Adagio. Aria and Sonata got up after her, and observed their new features. "I forgot what it's like to be a pony again. It's so, good." said Sonata, dragging out the good for emphasis. "Where do you think we are Adagio?" asked Aria. "That doesn't matter right now. We've got bigger fish to fry." The three Dazzlings were now staring at Sunset and Spike. "Thanks so much for showing us the portal. Now that we're hear, we can take over-" As Sunset's horn glowed, chains and shackles suddenly formed around the necks and hooves of the Dazzlings. "Hey!" The three Sirens yelled collectively. "Villains. They always monologue, don't they?" Sunset said to Spike, earning a slight smile from the dragon. "You can't keep us hear!" yelled Aria. Her wings flapped quickly, to the point they could not be seen, but she did not raise. The others tried as well, with the same result. "Those chains were part of my advanced studies with Celestia. They're meant to keep Pegasus criminals from-" "Augh, keep the lectures for later." "So, what are you gonna do with us now? Send us to that bearded guy and have him banish us again?" "Well, normally I would, but since Star Swirl is no longer with us, I-" "Wait, that old coot finally kicked the bucket?" The three girls broke out in laughter. "As I was saying, since he's dead..." The mention of the word dead only made the Sirens cackle louder and harder. "You know, I could just send you three to Tartarus and be done with this." Silence. "That's what I thought. Anyways, that's what I would normally do based on what you three have done. However, since I am still of the belief that you three can do good with your lives, I'll keep you here until I figure out what to do with you guys." "Wow, you're even dumber than you look if you think we'll turn good." said Adagio. "Seriously, I'm friends with the Princesses. I can have your flanks sent off to Tartarus faster than you can say 'sorry'." "We'll be good." said the three. "That's what I like to hear." "Sunset, you're kinda dark." "It's just tough love Spike. Just because I want to redeem them, doesn't mean I fully forgive them. They did try to kill us and all." "I guess your right." "Now that that distraction is handled with, where'd you say Twilight was staying?" "The Crystal Empire. She's there to spend some time with her brother." "Then that's where I'm going to go!" Sunset ran out the door, but she sheepishly stuck her head out. "Just one question. Where am I?"

"So, then what do you need us for?" asked Rainbow Dash. "Well..." Sunset lead the five into the library, where three ponies sat, chained to each other by the neck, whispering. "Are those..." asked Fluttershy timidly. "The Sirens. I guess they were turned normal after the battle. I need you five to watch them." "Wait, you're just gonna leave us in the hooves of these five?" asked Adagio. "Yep." "What if we need to go to the bathroom? Or if we get hungry?" asked Sonata. Sunset's horn glowed, and three tacos appeared, pleasing the blue mare. "There. If you guys need to go to the bathroom, just ask one of them." Sunset now faced Twilight's friends. "I'm sorry I had to call on such short notice." "Its not a problem at all darling. It's our pleasure to help a friend in need." "Thanks. Now Spike, you said Twilight was staying where?" "The Crystal Empire. It's just a quick train ride away." "Great. Then that's where I'll be heading." "Sunset, just out of curiosity, how many bits do you have on you?" asked Rainbow. "Gosh, it's been a while since I heard that word." She said under her breath. "None, why?" "Ah hate to be the one to tell ya this, but you're gonna need bits to get on the train." "Wait, you have to pay to get on a train? Gosh, I spent so much time as Celestia's student, I forgot normal Ponies had to pay to get things." "That's okay. I think I got some loose change in my throne. I'll take you to the Crystal Empire. I'm a big deal there, ya know." said Spike. "That'd be perfect. Now," Sunset said in a serious tone. "You have to watch out for these girls. They were single-handedly able to destroy the unity at CHS in just a day. Don't let them get in your head." "You gout nothin to worry about Sunset Shimmer. We've dealt with manipulating monsters before. These girls will be a piece o' pie." "Ease up on the M word over there." Aria said, giving her taco to Sonata. "We better get going Spike. Again, thanks for all of this." The seven gathered for a group hug, and Sunset and Spike trotted out of the castle, leaving the two groups to stare at each other. "This is gonna be SO MUCH FUN!" yelled Pinkie.
