One Thousand YearsView OnlineHistory of Midnight SlashOne Thousand Years Midnight Slash awoke to the sound of rain falling on the roof of his small cottage in the forest. He stood up and stretched his wings and went to check the time and get something to eat. It was 06:45 he decided to get some breakfast. As he left the room he noticed the small orb on the shelf he stared at it "No I wont look at it right now I don't think I could stand seeing that memory right now" He moved the memory orb on the table beside the bed. As he entered the kitchen Midnight noticed the letter on the table it was from Twilight. his heart leapt at the thought that she wanted to talk to him instead of just turning him in to Celestia. He read the letter Dear Midnight Slash I would really like to meet you and see if you are telling the truth about being an alicorn if you are then we can see about talking. Sincerely Twilight Sparkles So she was interested in meeting him he was excited. but the time she wanted to meet him wasn't for another hour. So he decided to go through his daily checklist/activities. First he made up the bed and cleaned up his breakfast dishes. Second he practiced summoning his personal armor and sword with magic. Midnight's armor wasn't like normal armor it was made from a magical steel only found in the moon stronger than anything the Canterlot guards had and light as a feather. His sword was made from the same steel and it was sharp enough to split diamonds. Both were encrusted with Garnets The blood red gem was Midnight's favorite The sword was able to channel his magic and focus it giving him the ability to cast more powerful spells in combat. After a few seconds of concentration the air around him shimmered and suddenly he was in his armor which was a dark blue with black trim underneath and the gold bands of royalty around his legs along with a gold muzzle guard. he felt so much better in his armor it fit perfectly. After that it was time to meet Twilight. He was supposed to meet her at her castle. as he walked through town he noticed everyone was staring at him. He remembered no one knew about a fifth alicorn. Much less another member of the royal family. As he approached the giant crystal tree he realized how much he has missed while in hiding. When he reached the front of the castle he was stopped by two unicorn guards. They both were surprised when he came closer and they saw he was an alicorn. The guards sent for Twilight immediately. When Twilight walked out side she was surprised to see that here indeed was an alicorn in front of her castle."Please come inside quickly" she said. Midnight followed her into the grand entrance which was decorated with paintings of all the elements of harmony. Twilight led him into the library of the castle which was by far ten times larger than the one in canterlot. There were bookshelves as tall as the ceiling which was a good thirty feet tall. She walked over to a table in the center and sat down. He sat across from her. All of a sudden he felt a weird energy coming near he couldn't quite put his hoof on it though. All of a sudden the wall behind him exploded. He tackled Twilight down and flipped the table to provide shelter from the blast. Twilight looked surprised "what are changelings doing in ponyville" she asked out loud. " I dont know but Im about to find out" midnight said. He concentrated and his armor and sword appeared. Twilight looked amazed by this " how did you do that" she asked." I made this armor and sword from lunar steel it come whenever I need it to" Midnight said. His face plate folded out over his muzzle. "Time to fight back" he said. As the first changeling charged him Midnight drew his sword so fast the changeling didn't even realize it had just been decapitated. Suddenly it stopped it head fell to the floor pooling blood. The other fifteen changelings hesitated and backed away when they realized they were facing two alicorns and one of them was obviously trained in combat magic and was skilled with a sword. In the blink of an eye Midnight was in the middle of the group slicing, stabbing, and crushing the changelings until all that was left was the one that appeared to be the leader of the group. before he had time to blink midnight sliced the wings and horn off the changeling so it couldn't fight or escape. It screeched in pain. " Why did you come here" Midnight growled at the changeling. " We thought princess Twilight was alone so we were going to try and kill her" it said through gritted teeth " we didn't expect her to have another alicorn here" it said". Midnight stood up tall. "Well it looks like you won't be killing anypony today" he said as he stomped in the changelings head. He turned to Twilight who was frozen in place staring at the pile of decapitated and mangled changeling corpses lying in a pool of blood and organs. " Are you OK Twilight" Midnight asked. She jumped slightly as if surprised. "Yes I`m fine thanks to you" she said blushing slightly. " You must be very strong to be able to swing your sword that fast" Twilight said. " Actually my sword is made from lunar steel which has no actual weight" Midnight said. He let her feel the weight of the sword." Wow if the canterlot guards had this they would-". "No!" Midnight interrupted " I am the only one able to forge lunar steel and form it into armor and weapons plus its only found on the moon". He concentrated and summoned a portal "please follow me Twilight its no longer safe here" he said. " Where does this portal lead to" Twilight asked. " It leads to the alternate world the same place as the mirror in the crystal kingdom" Midnight explained. " How do you know about the mirror"Twilight asked surprised. " I'm Luna's son" Midnight said”. " But Luna doesn't have any children she has been on the moon for one thousand years shes only been back for about twenty years now and you look about as old as me" Twilight said taken by surprise at his claim and blushing realizing he didn't look that bad. " I'll explain when we get to my house" midnight said as he walked through the portal. Twilight hesitated for a second then followed him through.
What happened to his wings?View OnlineHistory of Midnight SlashWhat happened to his wings?Just like before Twilight blacked out when she walked through the portal. However unlike before she didn't come to in front of Canterlot High. When she opened her eyes she was in front of a white two story house in what appeared to be the suburbs of the city. Also unlike before she still had her wings and horn. "Why do I still have my wings and horn" she asked Midnight. "because unlike the mirror in the crystal empire my portals do not restrict the use of magic in this universe or any others I visit" he explained. He stepped up to the front door and opened it he gestured for Twilight to go in. She stepped forward hesitantly she barely knew him should she really go into his house alone? Finally she decided if he wanted to hurt her he could have earlier she walked inside. The interior was kind of drab barely any decorations and plain white walls. She looked in a room off to the right it had a workbench with blueprints and partially put together projects. Many appeared to be types of weapons and what appeared to be another partial set of Midnight's armor. "I thought you said your armor cant be duplicated" she said. She turned around and looked accusingly at him. "It can be but it takes too much time to make the armor properly for it to mass produce it" he explained. " So instead I make the armor and matching weapon for those I find worthy of wielding such a power" he said. " However I have a gift for you Twilight" he said. He walked down the hall to a set of double doors and opened them. They led into a living room which had been converted into a training room/armory/gym. Twilight noticed there was another person in the room. " Who is that" she asked meekly. She noticed the second person in the room wasn't wearing a shirt and was lifting weights. He appeared to have metal wings folded against his back. He didn't seem to notice they had entered the room. along with the metal wings Twilight realized the other person seemed to be very fit having no trouble lifting the weights. " That is a close friend of mine from a different universe" Midnight said. " His name is Bass Breaker and he is a DJ by trade and a warrior by spirit" Midnight said noticing Twilight take interest in his friend. " Hey Breaker are you going to say hello to our guest" Midnight said loudly. Bass Breaker turned around and noticed Twilight standing there " Twi is that really you" Breaker asked. He began walking towards her. " Shes not the Twilight from your universe Breaker she is from the regular Equestria" Midnight said sadly. " I found out what happened to your Twi though" Midnight said sadly. " She died she was killed by Celestia when she wouldn't give up her element so Celestia killed her" he said sadly. " Her final act was to destroy her element of harmony to prevent Celestia using them to expand the Solar Empire" Midnight looked down sadness filling him. " I still haven't found out what happened to vinyl and its worrying me" Midnight said depression filling his voice. " Its okay man you'll find her" Breaker said trying to comfort his friend. " So your from the equestria that's on the right path nothing has gone astray yet" Breaker asked Twilight. " unless you count the changeling invasion of Canterlot during my brothers wedding then no" Twilight said looking him over. She noticed he had a gold chain around his neck that had an emerald on it. She also noted he had white hair with Bright red streaks in it. " Whats that chain for" she asked politely. "this is how I summon my armor and weapon because I don't have a horn anymore" Breaker said. " That reminds me Twilight I have a set of armor and a weapon i specially made for you" Midnight said walking towards the armor rack. He pulled a suit down that was a deep lavender color with light purple and pink outlining it. But where the Garnets had been on Midnight's armor there were amethyst. The deep purple of the gems fit the armor perfectly. " It looks amazing" she said. She noticed she too had gold bands around the arms and legs along with a gold face plate. " What do the gold bands and face plate signify" she asked curiously. " the gold signifies royalty since you are a princess I had to put a way to show your royalty" Midnight said. " Also this armor is different in this universe then it is in any other" he said seriously. " In this world any who wear this kind of armor are part of a military like group who protect the mortals" he said handing her the armor. " Well I'm going to shower and get ready for dinner" Breaker said. " Where we eating tonight" he asked. " We'll let Twilight choose" Midnight said. " While your showering I'll make sure the armor fits properly for Twilight" he said. " Ok then" Breaker said. He walked out of the room grabbing his shirt, shades, and headphones off the bench by the door. As soon as he was out of the room Twilight asked " what happened to him"? " What did he mean he doesnt have a horn anymore and why did his wings look like they were made of metal" she asked. " Well he used to be an Alicorn until celestia cut off his horn" Midnight started to explain. " And his wings are made of metal I was the one who made the for him after his were cut off by a Changeling general as torture"Midnight said. " Now lets get you into that armor so we can see if it chooses you" he said. " What do you mean if it chooses me" she asked. " Well since there are many different yous I must make sure you are the one truly worthy of the armor" he said. " You will know if it chooses you because you will be able to summon your weapon of choice" he said excited. " But I've never used a weapon in my life" she said. " How will I know if I summon the right one" she asked concerned as she put the armor on. " It should be the first thing that comes to mind when you focus your mind" Midnight said. He watched as she put on the helmet the visor opened to show her face. " That's a good sign" he said happily. He watched as she closed her eyes and a determined look came over her face. after a few seconds a purple light shimmered in her hand. Suddenly she was holding not one but two Purple katanas. Along with the great sword strapped across her back. " Ah so your like me you posses two special weapons" Midnight said. " but you only had one weapon at my castle" Twilight said while looking at her katanas. " What is you second weapon" she asked curious. " Let me show you" he said. Suddenly he was standing there in his armor with his bluish gray sword at his side and a large dark red two handed Great sword strapped to his back. " you will need to learn how to summon only the weapon you want if you are to have any hope in surviving combat" he said. "Tomorrow we will begin your training" he said with a hint of excitement in his voice. He was glad there was a new member of the Lunar Spartans. He looked to the display case against the wall where a white suit of armor with light reddish grey outlining and with rubies instead of garnets or emerald or amethyst. The inscription said In honor of the first Lunar Spartan and Luna's loving husband Midnight Blood. The armor had Midnight Bloods cutie mark on the chest it was three drops of blood and the center one had black fire in it. " You would be proud dad we are growing stronger" Midnight Slash said sadly.
Past MistakesView OnlineHistory of Midnight SlashPast MistakesMidnight looked at the memory orb on his bedside table " I guess since I can't sleep now would be as good a time as any to look at this again" he said. He sat up and grabbed the orb. He concentrated with his magic and was sucked into the memory. Midnight felt smaller and younger he felt his head turn and he saw his reflection. He realized how different he looked when he was younger his fur was a deep blue his mane was a Dark blue with black streaks and he didn't have fangs. Then he saw made his father was standing behind him. "Come on Slash its time for me to show you how to forge lunar steel" Midnight blood said. Midnight Blood was a tall unicorn with white fur. His mane was blood red with white streaks in it. He was wearing what appeared to be an earlier version of the Lunar Spartan armor. " Okay dad I'll be right there" Midnight Slash said. He stood up and stretched his wings and stood up. He followed his father downstairs. On the way down they passed another room. Slash looked in and saw his sister sitting at a desk reading a book on portals to alternate dimensions. Dragon Beat was a short Alicorn who for reasons unknown had dragon wings. Her fur was a dark teal colored. Her eyes were a deep lavender color. Her cutie mark was a golden music note. She looked up and saw Midnight Slash. " This book would probably help you more than me since your specialty is summoning portals anyways" she said. " Okay I'll get it on my way back up to my room" Slash said. He turned and caught up with his father who was almost to the forge in the basement. He looked out a huge vaulted window and saw the barren landscape of the moon. " I hate living here" he said sullenly. " I know so do I" Midnight Blood said. The whole afternoon was spent teaching Midnight slash how to find lunar steel and how to properly forge it. About 17:00 Midnight Blood had taught pretty much every thing he knew about Lunar steel to Midnight Slash. " Well son I've taught you everything I know about Lunar steel" Midnight Blood said. " And II have given you your armor I suggest you practice using it" he suggested. " OK dad I'll practice for a little while" Slash said. He began practicing summoning the armor and weapons. After about two hours of practice Midnight Slash returned to his chambers. " I'm so bored" he sighed. " I guess I could practice summoning portals maybe ill get to see Bass Breaker again" he said excitedly. He stood up and walked to the center of the room. He began concentrating and his horn began to glow. A small light appeared in front of him so he concentrated harder an overglow of magic shining on his horn. He realized how tired he was and was about to end the spell when the portal fully formed and drained him of the little remaining energy he had he blacked out. He came to and jumped up because he heard the sound of fighting in the halls. He summoned his armor and rushed out of his room. The first place he checked was his sisters room he instantly regretted it. His sister was lying on the floor in a pool of her own blood a gaping hole in her chest where she had been impaled. Rage filled him he rushed out of the room and down the tower stairs. He entered the main room which was in complete chaos. The lunar guards were in the middle of a battle with changelings and some creature that looked like a wolf made of wood. Slash saw his father fighting two changeling generals at once. Midnight Bloods dual scythes knives were more than a match for the changelings spears. he cut down the first. The second general was obviously smarter than the first because he flew out of range quickly. Slash noticed however many times the wolves were killed they always seemed able to just stand right back up. The guards were losing some of the changelings had morphed and were disguised as guards. This caused even more chaos. Slash saw a guard behind his father the guard stabbed a changeling that was about to kill Midnight Blood. Then suddenly the guard morphed into a changeling and stabbed Midnight Blood through the chest with a spear. Midnight Blood looked surprised then he collapsed. Pure unbridled rage coursed through Midnight Slashes body Suddenly he felt different his fur changed to a solid black he grew fangs his wings turned into dragon wings and his mane changed to match his fur. sadly he realized he had let a demon posses him. Then he realized it wasn't a very powerful demon. He would purge it from himself later for now he had additional strength to use. He began slicing his way into the crowd letting his anger guide him. When he was finished there were only five guards left alive. The rest of the room was nothing but a pile of mangled pile of changeling corpses many were decapitated. He ran to his father. " Dad Are you allright" Slash asked. He realized what a stupid question that was. " I mean is there anything I could do to help you". " No there isn't just promise me you will survive and protect your mother" Midnight Blood said weakly. He removed his helmet and coughed up blood. " Don't let Celestia find you if she does she will surely kill you" Midnight Blood said. " In my forge there is a safe in that safe is the design for the armor use it and form the Lunar Spartans" he said weakly. He stared out into the sky and breathed his last breath. Midnight realized he was crying when he returned to the current time he looked into the mirror and realized he was forever haunted by this memory he was the reason his father and sister were dead. If he hadn't summoned that portal his family would still be together. He looked in the mirror even traces of the demon couldn't be completely removed. He still had fangs and his fur and mane were still that of the demons the only thing normal was his wings. He stood and walked to the display case in his room in it was a dark teal set of armor with a gold music note on the chest piece. The plaque read "In memory of Dragon Beat loving daughter and Amazing sister". He walked to the bed and got in. He drifted off to sleep.
Friends From the PastView OnlineHistory of Midnight SlashFriends From the PastMidnight Slash looked in his closet and saw what he was looking for a locked box. He pulled it out and walked back into his room. He pulled the key from the hilt of his sword which was laying on his bed. He unlocked the box and pulled out a memory orb. He sat down and looked at it. Finally he enveloped it in his magic and was sucked into the memory. Midnight felt the young colt turn his head and saw his reflection in a section of a shattered mirror. He was in the memory of his friend Bass Breaker. Bass Breaker had a coat that was solid black. His mane and tail were White and red and he was an Alicorn. He was looking upon the scene of his parents murder. They were both stabbed through the neck with a lance. The two Solar scouts that had killed them were approaching him with swords drawn. " We have orders to kill you" the first one said. But he smiled but first lets have some fun. His horn lit up and Bass found himself pinned against the wall. The second scout walked up to him and drew a knife. " First lets cut off his wings" he said laughing. " I heard they hurt the worst when injured" he said smiling insanely. He stepped up to the young Alicorn and began cutting through his right wing. Bass Breaker screamed in agony. As the guard began cutting through his second wing Bass noticed a small point of light appeared in the back of the room. As the guard finished cutting through the second wing the point of light grew into a full sized portal to what appeared to be a castle made of dark blue stone. On the other side of the portal stood an Alicorn with a dark blue coat and a matching mane. The guards noticed the portal and stepped back in surprise. The blue Alicorn colt drew a knife and charged the first guard impaling him before he had time to recover from the surprise entrance. However the second guard had time to recover and draw his sword. The colt and guard circled each other each looking for an opportunity to get inside the others guard. Bass realized the colt wasn't armored so he was at a disadvantage. Bass scooted forward and tripped the guard with his last bit of strength. Before he blacked out he saw the colt charge the stumbling guard and impaled him on his horn. Bass woke up on his bed and thought it had all been a dream then he went to stretch his wings and realized he didn't have any all that was there were bandaged stumps. He looked around and noticed the blue Alicorn colt sitting by the door. Bass walked over to him. " What's your name" Bass Breaker asked. The colt jumped slightly surprised to see the injured Alicorn up so soon. " My name is Midnight Slash" he said. He looked around the room noticing there were headphones, records, and DJ equipment all around the room. " So I'm guessing you're a DJ" Midnight said. " Yep I'm a DJ" Bass said happily. " In fact I work the dance club here in canterlot" he said. " Or at least I did until Celestia closed it down about two days ago" he said sadly looking down. " So what do you do besides summon portals" Bass asked Midnight. " Well I'm really good at forging weapons and armor" Midnight said. " In fact I made this knife myself it's my own design" he said showing Bass the curved leaf blade design. " It makes slicing and stabbing easier plus the curve allows me the ability to disarm my opponent" Midnight said. " I'm sorry I didn't come earlier if I had your parents might have survived" Midnight said sadly. " It's okay I'll just move in with my aunt in Ponyville" Bass said. Celestia will never find me there. " At least tell me where to find you so I can give you the wings I'm going to make too replace yours" Midnight said. " Okay my aunt is Vinyl Scratch she lives on the outskirts of Ponyville" Bass said. Midnight nodded and turned around and Bass watched him summon another portal and walk through. He turned around and smiled at Bass. And then the memory faded out.
