Chapters I shift in the bed, the sheets feeling soft against my skin. I roll over only for my side to feel like something was plunged through it. I shoot up straight and wrap my arms around my body, I bite back a scream as my body feels like it's on fire.
“Ah, what the fuck!”
I slowly lie back down, I block the pain by counting in my head. I reach thirty before the pain calms down enough for me to unfold my arms. I take a deep breath though my body still feels like I have something sticking through it. I turn my head to look at the room I'm in, it seems standard enough in design, though it didn't look like a hospital room. I slowly turn my head and my eyes fall on a small table by the bed, I raise an eyebrow at the framed picture sitting on top. It seems like the person who owns this room likes a cartoon about small horses considering the two small horses in the photo.
I look closer at the picture and see that one horse was smaller than the other, the horse was foal sized and a strange shade of light purple with a yellow mane. The other was larger with a darker purple coat and a purple mane, I also see both had horns on their heads.
I snap my head forwards as I hear voices outside the rooms door. I listen but can't hear what's being said, though one of the voices did sound irritated. The voices go silent for several minutes until the door handle turns and the larger purple pony from the picture comes walking in...Backwards.
“Mum, I don't see why I have to do this! You helped it, you see if it's ok! It's your bedroom!”
My eyes widen the horse was talking, the fucking horse was talking! The horse turns around and catches me staring at her wide eyed, we both stare at each other before the horse look back to the open door.
“Mum, it's awake! Help, I don't know what to do!”
“Try speaking to it!” A reply comes from the doorway.
“About what!?”
“Anything, just try asking it it's name!”
I just stare at the horse as she judging by the voice comes closer to the bed. I slowly slide up in the bed as the horse sits down and gives me a smile, though it did seem a little forced. I however was having a slight dilemma as I was still trying to figure out how this horse was speaking and how the smile she gave me was almost human like.
“So...um...W-what's your name?” The horse asks me, when I don't respond she tilts her head. “Can you understand me?”
I didn't know what to do so I just nod.
“Oh, can you not speak? Did you lose your voice?”
I sum up what courage I could and swallow hard. “I-I can speak.”
“Hey, I can understand you too, but you don't look Equestrian.”
I didn't know what to do next so I held out my right hand to her. “My names Michael, what's yours?” I give her a little smile and try to be non threatening.
The horse looks to my hand then to me before moving forward and raising up a hoof, she looks at me one more time and then lowers her hoof into my hand.
“Hi, Michael, I'm Sparkler Hooves.”
“Hello Miss Hooves, if I can call you that?” I close my fingers around her hoof and give it a shake, the pony seems to look at my action with fascination or she was probably wondering why my fingers didn't rip her hoof off.
“P-Please, Miss Hooves is my mother, just call me Sparkler.”
I let the pony's hoof go and wince as the action of moving was really starting to hurt.
“Sorry.” I say when the pony looks at me with worry. “My body is still beat up, though I can't remember why.”
“You can't remember?”
“No, I have no memory of how I'm here or where I am. All I know is my name and the fact I'm human, everything else is just not there.”
“Do you know what I am?” The pony asks.
“You're a horse. I know that much.” I reply.
The pony chuckles. “You're close, I'm a pony not a horse.”
I give her a raised eyebrow. “A pony? You don't look like a pony I've ever seen.”
“How would you know? You don't have any memory.”
I go to reply but I knew she had a point. “True, you do have a point there. I just have that feeling you're different from what you should look like.” The pony cringes. “Sorry, I shouldn't have said it that way...I'll just shut up now.”
“My mum brought you in from the front yard, she said she found you passed out on the grass when she left for work early hours yesterday.”
“You're mum found me? Then could you thank her for me? She could have just reported me to what ever acts as authority here.”
Sparkler giggles. “You don't know my mum, she would never leave a creature outside if it was hurt. She has sent word to a local pony that deals in unknown creatures.”
“I just hope I don't scare the pony.” I say.
“You won't, though she is very shy, but I'm sure you'll be ok.”
“S-Sparkler are you ok in there?” I hear come through the open door.
“I'm fine mum, he's doing fine.” I watch as Sparkler grins. “His name is Michael by the way!”
I hear something drop outside the door. “Um, ok! Thank you Sparkler!”
“What was that about?” I ask.
“Mum wanted to know your name.”
“Oh, why?”
“Wouldn't be nice going around calling you it now would it?” Sparkler replies.
“I guess not.”
Sparkler stands up and moves to the door. “I have some chores to do Michael, you just lay back and rest and I'll bring you something to eat in a bit ok?”
I lie back. “Yeah and thanks again to your mum for rescuing me.” I chuckle.
Sparkler nods and walks out closing the door behind her, I put my head back on the pillow and close my eyes.
I open my eyes slowly as I get awoken by some sounds in the room, I turn my head and notice a grey pony slightly larger but not by much than sparkler head first into the closet near the far wall. The pony was trying to be quiet but her head and hooves kept bumping into things as she rummaged. I gave the pony a quick feature glance and saw that she had a blonde mane and tail with a mark on her hip, seven bubbles. The pony moved during her rummage and her tail flicked to the side, my face heated up when I caught a glimpse of her pony bits.
I raise a hand to my mouth and cough, the result was the pony suffering a heart attack and banging her head on the closet frame. I felt a little guilty as the pony stood back up rubbing her head. The grey pony looked to me and I saw fear, surprise and hesitation cross her face in mere seconds.
“S-Sorry if I woke you, I'll just leave.” The pony quickly heads for the door but I stop her.
“Wait! You don't have to leave. Are you Sparklers sister?”
The pony blushes, which was surprising. “N-No, I'm her mother.”
I stare at the pony in shock, she didn't look that much older than Sparkler.
“You don't look old enough to be Sparkler's mother, if you don't mind me saying.”
The pony goes even redder. “T-thank you, but I am ten years older than her. I adopted her when her real mother died and I have looked after her ever since.”
“Wow, you and her mother must have been close.”
The grey pony sits by the bed and gives me a little smile, though I could sense a small bit of tension from her.
“Are you ok? You seem tense.” I say, looking a little concerned.
“I'm ok, I was just looking for something my mother gave me when I felt sad.” The grey pony looks into my eyes and then turns away before coughing. “I...I should let you rest, you suffered some bad injuries.” The pony stands up and walks to the bedroom door.
“Thank you, for taking me in.” I say.
The pony looks back. “I couldn't just let you lie out there, you were injured.” The pony goes to turn away but stops and gives me another smile. “My names Derpy by the way.” The pony then leaves and closes the door behind her.
I stare at the door for a few minutes then a smile crosses my face. “Thanks Derpy.” I shrink down into the bed and close my eyes.
I awake to a knock at the bedroom door, I tiredly survey the room before sitting up in the bed.
“Come in...” I yawn.
“Oh, I'm sorry Michael. I thought you were awake.”
I see Sparkler's head poking through the door. “It's ok Sparkler, I just dozed off. How can I help you?”
“I brought something for you to eat.” My stomach growls, “just in time by the sounds of it.” Sparkler giggles.
“Heh, yeah, sorry about that. Guess I'm more hungry than I thought.” I give Sparkler a cheesy grin.
Sparkler closes the door and puts on a serious expression. “Michael can I speak to you? You know, privately?”
“I'm not going anywhere, go ahead.”
Sparkler walks to the bed and places a tray in my lap using her mouth. Sparkler sits to the bed side and I could see something was bothering her.
“Sparkler, are you ok? You seem to be mimicking your mother from earlier.”
“How?” Sparkler asks.
“You seem tense.”
Sparkler nervously laughs and rubs the back of her neck. “It's...It's about my little sister, Dinky. She wants to see you but me and mother are worried.”
“Has she not seen me yet?”
“Not really, she was not awake when mum brought you in and...we have kind of kept her away.” Sparkler looks down to the floor and looks really ashamed.
“I understand...” Sparkler snaps her head up in confusion. “I really do! I was an unknown. You and Derpy didn't know how I would react being in my situation, I could have lashed out. I fully understand your caution.”
Sparkler sighs. “I thought you would be angry.”
“Why? Look, You and your mother are the first ponies I have met. If I need to learn about where I am then you two would be the best bet, I wouldn't risk that by being a jerk.” I state.
Sparkler smiles. “Thank you Michael, If you're up for it I can let my sister in now if you like?”
I nod. “Better now than never right?”
Sparkler nods as I tuck into the platter of food in front of me, I crunch down on a slice of apple when the bedroom door opens and a small head slowly looks around the door. The little pony spots me in the bed and her eyes go wide, I raise up a hand and give her a wave.
“Hello.”
“H-Hi.” The little pony squeaks.
“You must be Dinky, I heard you wanted to see me.” I smirk. “You can come in, I won't bite.”
Dinky walks in and sits far from the bed, a very uncomfortable silence falls over the room. I look to the door and see Sparkler motioning for me to speak. I nod my understanding.
“So Dinky, how are you?”
“I-I'm fine, I guess.” A long pause followed before Dinky looked up to me. “Are you really a monster?”
I freeze at that question, I put down the segment of orange in my hand and let out a sigh.
“No, Dinky. I may look different from you but I'm not a monster, in fact I have no plans to harm you or your family. I actually I want to know you a little better, if I can?”
Dinky looks up to me with a slight tilt of her head, I could guess she was trying to figure me out.
“Do you like my mummy?”
“Why do you ask?”
“I just want to know.” Dinky suddenly became very serious.
“I find her interesting, but then again I'm new here, you're all interesting.”
“I am?” Dinky asks, tilting her head again.
“Yeah, where I come from your kind don't have the mental development that you currently have.”
“Mental...Development?”
“It means you are much smarter than the ponies back on my world.”
“Oh.” Dinky walks closer to the bed.
“Would you like to hear more about my world?” I ask.
“Yes please!” Dinky replies but she seem to be hesitant to come any closer.
I pat the bed next to me and shift my body over. “You can sit up her if you want, I don't mind.” Dinky looks to me like I had some hidden agenda. “I won't hurt you.”
Dinky looks to the closed door then back to the bed. “Ok..” Dinky walks forward and jumps onto the bed, she sits away from me but at least now I could get a closer look at her and she was adorable.
“You have your mothers eyes.” I say, getting Dinky to look at me funny. “I mean your eye colour, I like the gold, it goes with your fur colour.” I give her a grin but it just comes off as a cheesy smile.
“I have never had that told to me by anypony other than Sparkler or my mum.” Dinky starts to sniff.
“I'm sorry if I said something bad, I didn't know!” I state, holding up my hands. I was surprised when Dinky lunged at me and put her forelegs around my neck. I kept my hands away from her body as Dinky just cried into my shoulder.
Dinky pulls away and rubs her eyes. “I'm sorry, I just get bullied a lot at school because of my mum. They say mean things, mainly about her eyes.”
I frown. “So bullying even happens in this world too?” I lower my head. “I guess it must be some universe constant for some individuals to kick the lower ranks.” I did at that point the only thing I could do, I grabbed Dinky and pulled her in close, I held the little pony to my chest as fresh tears spilled from her eyes. I felt something in my chest that I haven't felt before, I felt a need to love, I felt the need to protect.
I kept Dinky close to my chest, even when her tears dried up and she hugged me back. I noticed Dinky's breathing got shallower and I looked down, the little pony had fallen asleep in my arms.
“Aww! That's so cute!”
I snap my gaze to the door and see Sparkler standing there with a large grin on her face.
“Hey Sparkler...” I say in a hushed voice. “I guess she cried herself to sleep.” I look back to Dinky and give her mane a stroke. “She told me about the bullying, I gave her the chance to let it all out.”
Sparkler walked to the bed. “You're lucky, she doesn't tell me or mother much about it. I think she doesn't want us to worry.” Sparkler lifts up a hoof and moves a strand of Dinky's hair out of her face. “You know, it's a natural look for you.”
I give Sparkler a raised eyebrow. “Natural look?”
Sparkler's face turns red. “Oh nothing! Just forget I said anything! I'll take Dinky to her room, let her rest for a bit.”
“Would I be ok if you let her rest here?” I ask.
“You want her to stay with you?” I nod. “If that is what you want, I don't see anything wrong with it.” Sparkler smiles and heads for the door. “I'll let mother know where Dinky is, I'll come get her when tea is ready.”
I lay Dinky down beside me and put the covers over her. “Thanks Sparkler.”
“You just rest up Michael, I'll see you later.”
Sparkler closes the door and I look back down to Dinky, I slide further down into the bed and turn over so my back was to Dinky. I close my eyes for several seconds when I feel something press against my back, I turn my head to see Dinky had moved over in the bed and now had her back pressed against mine. I smile and allow Dinky to press against me. I lay my head back down and close my eyes again drifting off into a deep sleep.
Sparkler was putting plate on to the table and one on to a tray for Michael, she couldn't help but feel slightly giddy.
“You should have seen it mum, he had Dinky in his fore legs! It was so cute!”
“Sparkler his fore legs are arms, or have you forgotten your Minotaur anatomy?”
Sparkler looked a little crestfallen. “Sorry mum, but it still doesn't change that it was adorable!” Sparkler squealed.
“I do have to admit, he is kind of cute.” Derpy adds, a little blush coming to her cheeks.
“I knew it!” Sparkler shouts rounding on her mother. “You like him!”
“I do not! I just think he's easy on the eyes.” Derpy replies, her cheeks getting redder.
“Don't lie to me!” Sparkler says, lunging at Derpy.
Derpy squeals as Sparkler lands on her and starts to give her the tickle treatment.
“You little horror!” Derpy shouts and begins her own tickle retort.
Derpy and Sparkler spend the next several minutes tickling each other until they stop gasping for air and laughing.
“B-Been...awhile...since...we...did...that!” Derpy says between breaths.
“Yeah...felt...good.” Sparkler replies blowing a her mane out of her face. “Do you think Michael is ticklish?”
“I-I don't know, should we ask?” Derpy says. “Or would that be a personal question?”
“I'm not sure myself, I wonder how his species expresses joy, do you think it's similar to us?” Sparkler asks unsure.
“Maybe this is a line of questioning we could ask him, but for now...” Derpy states getting to her hooves. “I should get dinner finished.” Derpy walks to the stove and stirs the soup boiling on top. “Ah, I think it's done!” Derpy chirps.
“I'll go and get Dinky and see if Michael can join us out here.” Sparkler says walking out of the kitchen.
“Ok!” Derpy calls in reply.
Sparkler walks down the hallway to the bedroom but stops when she hears talking coming from inside.
“So you don't know much right now?”
“No, I know my name and where I came from but I don't know much more than that. I just hope it comes back in time if not I may have suffered more damage than I thought.”
“I'm glad your ok Michael, I like you and I'm sure Sparkler and my mum do too! If you need any help you can just ask us!”
Sparkler hears hooves thump on the bedroom floor and she steps away from the door when it opens. Sparkler watches as Dinky walks out and turns her head back.
“I'll ask mum if dinners ready yet!”
“You don't have to little muffin!” Sparkler says causing Dinky to almost jump out her fur.
“Sparkler~! I almost wet myself!” Dinky cries. “And in front of Michael too!”
Sparkler looks in through the door and smile when she sees Michael trying to hold in his laughter. Sparkler pulls back her head.
“Dinks, mom is getting the dinner ready, you go wash your hooves and report to the dinner table.”
Dinky salutes. “Yes mam!” Dinky runs off and Sparkler walks back in to her mums room.
Michael gives Sparkler a smile when she enters and Sparkler returns it.
“Michael, mum was wondering if you would like to join us for dinner?”
“Really?”
“Yes, we thought it would be nicer if you joined us at the table.”
Sparkler watches Michael think about it and then nod. “I would like it very much. I might need some help however, I might not be able to walk correctly by myself.”
Sparkler smiles. “Of course I would be happy to help you, you can just use me to lean on.”
“Ok.” Michael replies as Sparkler walks to the bed side and stands at an angle so Michael could place on of his hands on her back. “Ok, here goes.”
I place my hand on Sparkler's back as I swing my legs out, I watch as Sparkler adjusts her stance to take my weight. Sparkler gives me a nod before I push myself off the bed and instantly I collapse as my legs don't seem to work correctly. I wince and close my eyes as I fall forward but I find I don't hit the floor. I open my eyes and I see Sparkler looking back at me and she had a small hint of pink to her cheeks. I raise an eyebrow before I suddenly realise where I just fell, I might not be a pony but even with my memory loss I know how compromising the way I'm lying on her back is.
I push off her back and fall back onto the bed, I look up at her and I couldn't help but feel the slight increase of blood go to my cheeks.
“Sorry, guess I should have made sure my legs work first.”
Sparkler coughs. “I-It's ok, no harm done.” It was then Sparkler got an evil grin on her face and headed for the door. “Mum! Could you come here! Michael needs some help!”
My eyes go wide. “Sparkler no! What if I fall on your mother like I did with you...” My brain clicks. “You sly little, DERPY HEY!” I shout as Derpy walks into the room.
Derpy gives me a raised eyebrow. “What's the problem?”
Sparkler walks to me and gestures to my legs. “Michael's legs don't work he needs some help to get them moving before he can join us.”
Derpy suddenly flies the few feet from the door to me and places both of her fore hooves on my legs.
“Oh, does he need somepony to rub them awake?”
“What!?” I splutter. “N-No! I just someone to hold on to and Sparkler said you were stronger than her.” I look to Sparkler and smirk, Sparkler gives me a glare. Two can play this game. “Are you ok with me leaning on you?”
Derpy looks me over like she was sizing me up. “I should be able to handle it, if not you could just drape over my back.”
“MUM!” Sparkler shouts. “That wasn't very subtle!”
“What?” Derpy says, clearly unaware of what she just implied. I watch as Derpy's face goes from confusion to realisation then to shame as her face turns bright red. “I..I didn't mean...”
I hold a up a hand and chuckle. “I know what you meant.” I hold out a hand and Derpy moves to stand by the bed. I place my hand on her back and notice how different her fur was to Sparklers, I didn't realise I was stroking Derpy's fur until she gave a slight cough. “Sorry! Sorry!” I say removing my hand, I could feel the heat in my cheeks. God this is embarrassing. I look up to find both Sparkler and Derpy giving me confused looks. “What?”
“Why are you apologising?” Derpy asks.
My eyes go wide, was she serious? “I just felt you up....” I reply.
“You stroked my fur, so what?”
I rubbed my face. “Ok, so ponies don't have personal space.”
Sparkler laughs. “We do have personal space it's just not very large.”
I shake my head as the bedroom door creaks and I see Dinky stick her head around the corner.
“Is everything ok?” Dinky asks.
“Everythings fine Muffin.” Derpy replies, giving Dinky a smile. “Now, let's get you to the table.” Derpy adds turning to face me. “Are you ready?”
I put on a serious expression and give her a nod. I place my hand on Derpy's back and slide to the beds edge, I give Derpy one more look and push off. I stand and wobble for a few seconds before I finally stand proper.
“Well, that's step one.” I say, giving Sparkler and Derpy a quick glance. “Now let's see if my legs can walk.” Derpy takes one step forward and I move my right foot forward to match her steps. I silently cheer when I manage a few steps and don't fall over.
“I think we should make sure you can walk around the room before we try for the table.” Derpy says and I give her a nod. “Ok, don't rush yourself.”
I laugh. “I feel like a kid trying to walk for the first time.”
“And your doing great!” Sparkler cheers from the door making me heat up a bit.
Derpy and I spend the next several minutes walking around the bedroom when we both feel I can make the table. I move with my hand still on Derpy though it has now moved to her neck. We both move slowly as we approach the door and step through, I glance around when I notice the house was more modern looking than I thought. I keep my balance as Derpy keeps moving down the small hallway and leads me towards a room that made my nose twitch. I enter the room and find it was a small kitchen complete with a dining table.
I frown when I can remember what a kitchen table is but not how I got here. I clench my fist but I clench the hand holding Derpy's back and I make her cry out when I dig her skin under her fur. I let go of her back and shuffle away as Derpy looks over shoulder and I notice I drew blood. I step back until I hit a wall and slide down to my ass, I put my head in my hands. I feel something touch my arm and I look up to see Derpy smiling down at me.
“I don't deserve that smile...” I whisper to her. “I'm sorry I hurt you.”
Derpy steps forward and presses her nose against mine, she lets her nose linger for a few seconds before pulling away. I stare at her in disbelief at what just happened. I watch as Derpy backs off now realising what she just did.
“I..I..” Derpy stutters before running off, I hear a door slam seconds later.
“What just happened?” I ask, looking to Sparkler only to find her blushing heavily. “Sparkler? What in hell just happened?”
Sparkler walks forward and gives me a nose nudge aswell. I sit there wide eyed as Sparkler walks into the kitchen giggling to herself. I cast a glance to Dinky nearby and all she could give me was a shake of her head before smiling and walking after Sparkler.
“Can someone gives me an explanation on what just happened!?” I shout to myself.
I get no reply so I decided to get off the floor, I use my arms to slide myself back up the wall and to my feet. I stumble forward and grab my chest but I manage to stay standing. I shuffle to the kitchen and see Sparkler and Dinky whispering to each other. Dinky had a look of happiness as she giggled.
“OK you two.” I say getting their attention. “I do not wish to curse in front of Dinky so I will ask once more, what happened?” I walk forward and drop myself into the nearest chair. I look to Sparkler as she clears her throat.
“I'm not really sure but I have read about some pegasis interactions.” I nod for her to continue. “I think but don't quote me on this...I think my mum really likes you.”
“How much is really?” I ask.
“Well, If the nose bump was anything to go by, I would say mother REALLY likes you.”
“You mean...?” Sparkler nods. “I think...I think...yup!” I say as I drop my head to the table and blackout.
I open my eyes to find myself lying on my back, I move my head and find I was lying on a couch in the houses living room. I turn my head to look at the only door when it starts to open. I watch as Derpy walks in backwards using her butt to open the door. I also found myself staring at said rear a little too long. I shake my head when Derpy turns around and I close my eyes feigning still being asleep. I hear Derpy's hooves come to rest by the couch.
I hear Derpy sigh. “I'm such a foal, I should have known he wouldn't be interested in me. Why did I have to nose bump him? Stupid! Stupid!.” I hear several muffled thumps.
I crack open my eyes and notice Derpy was holding her head and her eyes where closed. I smile.
“You're going to hurt yourself doing that.” I says, making Derpy jump.
“You're ok?” Derpy replies, her mood picking up. “I'm sorry for earlier.”
I raise a hand and touch her cheek. “You have nothing to be sorry for, I was just caught unaware, that's all.” I start to stroke the fur of Derpy's cheek when she lifted up a hoof and placed it on my hand getting me to stop.
“Please don't, if I don't mean anything to you don't touch me that way.” I look to her in confusion. “Pegasi have very physical ways of interacting, in easy terms our bodies do the talking.”
I think over what Derpy has said before I remove my hand, I watch as she sighs and lowers her gaze. I turn my gaze away from her.
“I'm sorry Derpy, I...I just don't know what to do. I know very little about myself. I just don't want to bring you down with me if anything happens.” I turn back to look at her again and notice the tears streaming down her face. “You are beautiful Derpy, I don't want to ruin that until I know exactly who I am.”
Derpy raises her head and I stare into her amber eyes. “Dinner is still there if you want any, I'll put it in the cooler for you.”
I go to say something but Derpy just stands up and heads to the door, she stops before giving me one last look and walking out. I lay on the couch thinking until I suddenly come to a realisation.
“I've made a terrible mistake....”
I stood in front of the mirror in the bathroom, I was looking at my small scars on my shoulder. I run my fingers over the scars and let out a slow sigh. It's been a week since that day in the living room and all three of the mares in the house are giving me the cold shoulder. Dinky won't talk to me. Sparkler came to check my bandages once per day but there was no interaction, I couldn't even look her in the eyes. Derpy...Derpy won't even look at me.
I suddenly had a twinge of nausea in my gut from just thinking about it. She helped me and cared for me and all I did was spit it back at her. I lower my head and splash warm water over my face from the low sink. I bring my head back up to find a pony standing behind me. I turn to see Derpy standing in the door way, she was just staring at me and I couldn't think of anything to say. I open my mouth but no words come out, I turn my gaze away and then I quickly turn back to find Derpy had gone. I frown and with one quick motion I punch the mirror, the glass shatters and I just stare at the pieces that got stuck in my hand.
I turn my hand around watching as blood falls from the wounds, I turn slowly when I hear hooves quickly enter the bathroom. Sparkler stands three feet from me with wide eyes, I hold my hand out to her as I feel tears build up. I slide to the floor as Sparkler walks forward and I start to weep, I bring my hands up to my face and cry/scream into them. I feel Sparklers hoof touch my injured hand and I slowly remove my hands to look up at her.
“I...I...” I stammer.
Sparkler wraps her fore legs around my body and starts to coo in my ear.
“It's ok...It's ok...”
“NO IT'S NOT!” I shout. “IT'S NOT OK! I FEEL SO HELPLESS!” I scream into her shoulder.
Sparkler pushes off from me to look me in the eyes.
“Mom told me what you said that day, that you thought she was beautiful and didn't want to ruin it.” Sparkler leans in and gives me a kiss on the cheek. “I think there's a pony you need to confess to, don't you think?”
I give her a nod. “I just don't understand, I've been here a week how can I fall for your mother so fast?” I shake my head and squint my eyes. “I just can't figure it out, normally it takes months for a relationship to form.”
Sparkler holds my injured hand. “Let me sort this out and you can figure out what you really want.” Sparkler starts to magic out the glass fragments. “Why did you smash the mirror?”
I chuckle and wipe my eyes with my free hand. “I got frustrated, I guess I wasn't thinking.”
Sparkler shakes her head and smiles. “No, you were thinking, you just didn't like the outcome.”
I rest my head against the wall. “You're right, I didn't. I didn't like it because I couldn't figure it out, that's what frustrated me.”
“Why? Is it because you're one species and she's another?” I hang my head down giving her all the answer she needed. “I see, guess we should have told you about the other side of pony life.”
“What other side?” I ask, lifting my head up.
“The intimate side.” Sparkler replies, putting a pin in a bandage on my hand. “Now, come with me.” Sparkler stands up and walks to the bathroom door.
I look at the bandage as Sparkler just stands there smiling at me. I get to my feet and return her smile and follow her out the bathroom. I finally put on my t-shirt though it is a bit battered. Sparkler leads me down the hallway and walks in to the kitchen, I follow and cast my gaze down when I spot both Derpy and Dinky sitting at the table.
Sparkler stands in front of me and calls to Dinky. “Dinks? Can you come with me a moment? I need to show you something.”
Dinky looks to me and then to Derpy before she nods to Sparkler. “Ok.” Dinky walks pass me without even giving me a glance, I feel the nausea come back.
Derpy continues to stare at the mug between her hooves, she doesn't make a sound not even cast a glance at me. I swallow hard and take the first step, I was sick to my stomach but I had to do this. Sparkler was right, I had a confession to make. I walk forward and take a seat at the table. Derpy takes a sip and glances to me but it was short lived.
I sigh and place my hands on the table. “Derpy, I have a confession to make and I'm not quite sure how to say it so I'm going to say it in a way you will understand.” I stand and keep my eyes on Derpy as she finally lifts her head and looks to me as I approach her. I stand by her side and with one movement that causes her to flinch I wrap my arms around her body. “A week ago I made a mistake, a mistake I regretted. The truth is Derpy, I do like you, I like you a lot and that is what scares me.”
“It's scares you?” Derpy asks me, her voice just above a whisper.
“Yes, I don't know what to do. I haven't even stepped outside this house, I don't even know what the town looks like.” I hold Derpy tighter. “I just don't want to be with you only for the town to shun you because of me.”
I feel Derpy put her fore legs around my chest returning my hug. “Then we face that together. No matter what.”
I pull away to look into Derpy's eyes, I chuckle when one eye slightly dips but the other stays put. Derpy looks away.
“I hate my eyes.” Derpy states with a huff.
I raise up a hand and pull her head back towards me. “I don't.” I lean in and press my lips to hers, I couldn't help but laugh when her fur tickled my chin. “That felt, right.” I say giving Derpy a smile. We both bring our lips together again when a knock is heard from the front door.
“I got it!” Sparkler shouts from the other room. There was a sound of hooves before the sound of a door opens and I hear Sparkler gasp. “P-P-P...”
“I think the term is princess or in this case princesses.” I let Derpy go when the new voice echo's into the kitchen with authority. “Are you Miss Hooves?”
“N-No! I mean no, my mother is in the kitchen.” I hear Sparkler answer.
“May we come in?” A third voice asks.
“Of course.” I hear Sparkler say after a sigh.
Derpy goes to say something but I place another kiss on her lips.
“We knew this would come, I couldn't stay hidden for ever. I guess someone saw me through a window.” Derpy nods and sniffles. “Derpy can you leave this to me?”
“I...”
“Please?” I smile when Derpy nods and I give her a quick kiss. I stand when two large ponies walk into the room and they just seem to stare at me in surprise. I walk towards them and drop down on my knees. “I know why you are here, so what's it going to be? Dissection? Prison?” I hold out my hands in a submissive stance.
I feel a hoof push my hands down. “Why? Do you wish to go to Prison?” I look up to see the large white pony looking down at me with a straight face. I look away. “Why do you not look at me?”
“I can't, I just can't.” I look to Derpy. “To answer your question, I'm doing it because I don't want to cause Derpy any more harm if I resist.”
I hear the pony sigh. “Very well, If you wish to go to Prison then I guess I have no choice.” I feel a tingling in my wrists, when I look down I spot glowing cuffs binding my hands together. “Please come with me.” The large white pony turns and I stand up following after her.
“Michael? What's going on?” Sparkler asks when I walk pass her. I don't answer and just hold my head down. “Michael?”
“Michael!?” I turn just in time to see Dinky rush me and cling to my leg. “Don't go! I'm sorry I haven't spoken to you! I don't want you to leave, Please!”
I reach down and stroke Dinky's mane. “It's going to be ok Dinky, we knew this day was coming. I can't stay hidden forever.” Dinky starts to wail and her grip gets tighter. “I have to go Dinky.” Dinky lets me go and runs to Sparkler, I give sparkler a smile. “Thanks Sparkler, for everything.”
The white pony takes me to a old looking carriage before gesturing for me to enter. I hang my head and climb in. the two ponies climb in after and the carriage takes off when the blue pony gestures to the two armoured ponies attached to the front. I keep my gaze off the two ponies as we fly over a large forest of some kind. I turn my gaze in confusion when the large white pony speaks to one of the armoured ponies.
“That shall be far enough, land here please.”
I watch as the carriage lowers until it lands in a field, I couldn't even begin to fathom what was going on until the scene from the great escape flashed in my head. Wait! I remembered something...doesn't matter now I guess. I wait to be ordered out and placed in a shallow grave.
“You don't need those anymore.” The cuffs vanish around my wrists.
“What's going on?” I manage to ask. I shrink when the blue pony's eyes narrow in my direction. “Forget I asked....”
“You don't need to fear us Michael, actually we are the reason why you haven't been arrested yet.” The white pony smiles when I look at her in shock. “I think introductions are in order. My name is Celestia, Princess Celestia if you want to be formal and this is my sister Princess Luna.”
I watch as the blue one waves. “Hello.” she says with a smile. “We apologise for the visit but after our little spy told us you weren't a threat we just had to see for ourselves. I hope this hasn't been an inconvenience?”
I felt anger rise in me and I point at them and frown. “Inconvenience!? INCONVENIENCE!? You just took me from Derpy's house and now they think their not going to see me again!”
“Well you did say you wanted to be taken to Prison.” Celestia states.
“I thought that's what you came for! Why didn't you say you wasn't!?” I shout.
The princesses both reel back at my anger.
“It seems sister that he is most taken with the grey pegasis, don't you think?” Princess Luna states leaning forward and giving me a grin.
Princess Celestia smiles. “Yes, I do agree. Though I find it amazing that it only took a week, I bet on it being longer. I guess I owe you a thousand bits sister.”
I sat in the carriage completely paralysed but what I'm hearing. They bet on how long it would take for me to form a relationship with Derpy. I hunched forward and placed my head in my hands.
“Please take me back....” I whisper. I raise my head to see the princesses both looking at me. “They helped me, nursed me back to health. I have no memory of how or why I came here but the hooves have made my stay bearable. Please? Take me back.”
The princesses look to each other before they both nod.
“Very well Michael, we shall take you back but on one condition.” Princess Celestia tells me. “You must write to me at least once a week, see it as a diary, only that I will be reading it.”
I sit up and give her a smile. “I think I can do that.”
The princesses return me back to Ponyville but I ask them to leave me a little way from Derpy's house. I give the princesses a wave as they take off back to their castle in Canterlot. I walk the short distance to Derpy's and manage to keep myself hidden from other ponies. I walk up to the house and go to open the front door when I hear crying coming from the living room window. I slowly make my way to the open window and listen in.
“Mom, you can't say that. It could be alright.” Sparkler says.
“Y-You don't know that. They might experiment on him or dissect him!” Derpy replies with a few sniffs thrown in. “I just can't believe that I've found someone after all this time and now he's rotting in some prison.” Derpy breaks down again and the crying continues.
I sigh and head for the front door. I grab the handle and twist it opening the door. I was slightly relieved when Derpy's crying blocked the sound of the door opening. I slowly and quietly close the door, however my surprise was ruined when Dinky walks out of the kitchen and looks at me in shock. I put my finger on my mouth and Dinky nods much to my relief. I watch as Dinky walks in to the living room and I slide up the wall so I could peek into the room.
I spot Derpy crying on the large couch with Sparkler rubbing her back, I notice Dinky has sat on a small chair opposite the two.
“I love him Sparkler, I really love him.” Derpy says with her head still between her hooves.
“I know you do mother.”
I sigh and step around the corner. “Then it's good I'm not going to jail then.”
Derpy's head snaps up and in less than three seconds I was on the floor with a grey pegasus trying to squeeze the life out of me.
“Derpy! Air! Need! To! Breathe!” I say tapping her side in submission.
Derpy let's me go and plants a big kiss on my lips. I return the kiss. We both pull back after a minute and I look around, I spot Sparkler covering Dinky's eyes no more than four feet from me and Derpy.
“Sparkler~! I can't see!” Dinky whines trying to remove her sisters hooves.
“I think that would be for the best Dinky.” Sparkler replies giving me a slight nod to Derpy's back.
I look over Derpy's shoulder and I see her wings are ridged and pointing straight up. I look back int derpy's eyes and she was blushing heavily.
“S-Sorry, I can't control when they do that...”
I rub Derpy's cheek. “It's ok, it's a clear sign that you really love me.” Derpy squirms on my body. “Are you ok?”
Derpy sits up. “Somethings poking me.” Derpy goes wide eyed when she spots the offending item, it was my turn to blush. “Is that your way of telling me you love me?” I watch as Derpy looks to Sparkler. “Sparkler could you take Dinky out for some ice cream?”
Sparkler looks to me then back to Derpy. “Sure mom, come on Dinks.” Sparkler ushers Dinky out of the room much to the filly's protests. When the door shuts and the sound of the front door to the house opening and closing sounded I looked back to Derpy's eyes, I could see the reason she wanted Dinky out of the house.
I place a hand on Derpy's face and start to stroke her cheek. “Are you really sure you want this? We don't have to rush, I'm not going anywhere.”
Derpy leans down and gives me a quick peck on the lips. “I'm sorry, I guess I haven't had a partner in so long I'm all tensed up.”
I smile. “You have ways to stem the urges though right?”
Derpy's ears flatten. “We do but it's not the same, the feeling of having a stallion inside of you is much better than using your hoof or a toy.” Derpy blushes.
I return Derpy's quick kiss and keep my smile on. “Look Derpy, I have very strong feelings for you. I mean really strong. I however will not just make love to you just so you can scratch some itch.” Derpy goes to reply but I stop her by placing my finger on her lips. “Though we can increase our relationship by going on dates and working towards the outcome you desire.”
Derpy smiles back. “I would like that Michael, I wouldn't want to ruin what we have now that I have found somebody like you.”
I smirk. “You know Sparkler is now thinking we had sex with the way you told her to take Dinky away.”
Derpy gasps. “Oh dear! I didn't think did I?”
“No you didn't.” I say chuckling. “But it's ok, we can just tell her the truth about us taking it slow.” I hold Derpy closer and feel her body go limp. “I like this, you make a great blanket.” I chuckle when Derpy hoofs me in the chest.
Derpy lays back on my body and closes her eyes. I close my eyes and feel Derpy's heart beat against me. I sigh and slowly drift off. I wasn't sure how long we stayed like that but I was awoken by a soft prodding of my body.
I open my eyes and yawn. “Huh?” I look to my right and spot Dinky sitting there smiling broadly. “Hey Dinks.” I say reaching over and scratching her ear. “What time is it?”
“It's nearly five, Sparklers getting tea ready so she sent me to wake you.” Dinky stands up and walks to the living room door. “I will tell Sparkler your awake.” Dinky left leaving me alone with Derpy.
I moved a piece of Derpy's mane from her face and gave her a quick kiss on the nose. Derpy smiled but didn't wake. I decided to press the advantage I had and slapped both of my hands on her cutie marks, Derpy suddenly shot up looking around like she was caught with her hoof in the cookie jar.
“What? Where?”
I grab Derpy and pull her back down. “Sorry, but it's time to get up.”
Derpy smiles and gives me a kiss. “Don't want to!” Derpy wraps her fore legs around my neck and nuzzles my chest.
I laugh. “Yes but I think Sparkler and Dinky might have something to say.” I smile when Derpy shoots up and jumps off me.
“Oh Celestia! They didn't see anything right?”
“Dinky did.” I roll on to my side as Derpy groans. “What's wrong?”
“Everypony doesn't know about you yet and Dinky isn't the best at keeping secrets.”
I sit up. “You think she might tell other ponies before I can announce myself.” Derpy nods. “Then I think we should let her know how serious this is and to hold off until I can address everyone.”
“You think she will understand?” Derpy asks as I stand and crack my back.
“I think she will if we both explain it.”
Derpy nods as she moves to the door of the living room, I follow behind but freeze as there was another pony sitting at the table. A pony that was now half frozen sipping on a cup, her eyes were wide and locked on me.
Sparkler comes into view and spots the situation. “Oh Copper Pot, this is my mums new stallion friend I told you about.”
“Hi...” I say giving the mare a wave.
“H-Hi...” She replies.
Sparkler gives me a smirk and I narrow my eyes in her direction. I walk to the table and sit down the young pony still staring at me. I get a surprise when Derpy gives me a kiss on the cheek.
“Would you like something to drink Michael?”
I turn to Derpy and smile. “Yes please, some tea would be nice.”
I look back to the table and could see Copper Pot was tilting her head to the side as if she was trying to determine exactly what I am. Derpy drops a cup in front of me and I surprise her with a kiss of my own getting her to giggle and walk away fanning herself with a wing.
“Mums in love~” Dinky sings.
“It's been a long time coming.” Sparkler says giving me a genuine smile. “So? Are you and mum doing anything today?”
I take a sip of my tea before rubbing my chin. “Not sure, I want to speak with Ponyvilles mayor so I can set up a town meeting. I've been here long enough and stayed hidden far too long. I think it's time I introduced myself to Ponyville.”
“Are you sure?” Derpy asks looking worried.
I nod. “I think now is the time Derpy, I would like to get out and about. Though I'm not saying it's bad staying inside but it will be bad for my health in the long run.”
Derpy looks down as her ears flatten. “I guess you're right, you can't stay locked up for ever.” Derpy then brightens up and she smiles eagerly. “I'll go talk to Mayor Mare and invite her over, she can talk to you and determine what would be best way to proceed.”
I smile. “Good idea, I can't leave and I think I might need a shower before hand.” I look around the table and could see that Copper Pot had a question to ask. “Is there something you wish to ask Copper Pot?”
The mares ears perk up and she blushes slightly. “Y-Yes, If y-you don't mind?”
“Not at all, go ahead and ask.” I reply.
Copper Pot coughs and fidgets. “You don't look like any species that ponies have met before, so where do you come from?”
I chuckle. “I'm sad to say I can't answer that fully as I don't have all my memories. However, I do remember some details like my name and that I'm human. I know where I came from but not much more than that.” I drink from my cup and give her a smile. “I come from a place called Earth and I was born in a city, what that city was called I don't know. I do know that many of my kind dwell there but not how many or for what purpose, it's strange that I know I have the memories I just can't use them.”
Copper Pot gives me a look of sympathy. “I'm sorry to hear that, I hope you get your memories back.”
I nod. “Thank you, I'm just worried if I'll get them back at all.”
I hear Sparkler gasp. “Copper it's almost six! We're going to be late!”
Copper's ears perk up. “Nice to meet you Michael! Nice to see you again Miss Hooves!” Copper stand up with Sparkler and they both head for the exit in record time.
“That's something.” I say.
Derpy stands up and gives me a kiss before heading for the door as well. “I'm going to go see the mayor and see what we can arrange, are you OK looking after Dinky for a moment?”
I give Dinky a smile as she sat across the table and she returns it. “We'll be fine.”
“OK, I shouldn't be long. Just don't go breaking anything.”
“Oh you know me Derpy.” I grin as I take another drink from my cup. I watch through one eye as Derpy leaves and I listen for the front door to open and close. Dinky slides off her chair and looks around the door frame. “She gone?” Dinky look back and nods. I grin and stand up. “Right! What shall we play?”
“Oh I know!” Dinky says beaming from ear to ear. “I have just the thing!”
I lay on the floor with Dinky in a mild state of panic. Dinky was leaning over me and her eyes were filled with tears.
“I'm so sorry Michael! I didn't mean to!”
I give her a smile and pat her head. “It's not your fault Dinks. I just kind of misjudged the hardness of the floor.” I wince as I sit up, my chest really hurt. “Wow, that stings.” I get to my feet and crack my back. I look to Dinky and see she was still on the verge of tears. “I fine Dinks, no harm done.”
Dinky lunges at me and hugs my leg. “I'm sorry.”
I pat her head and chuckle. “Dinky, I'm OK. I admit we got out of hoof if that's the correct term?” Dinky nods. “Yeah, but I think we better get this mess cleaned up.” I say looking over the living room. The couch had lost it's cushions and the chair had not faired better, the cushions in question were piled into a make shift fort in the centre of the room. “Yeah...”
“We did go a little too far didn't we?” Dinky says looking at the living room.
I look down to Dinky and give her a smile. “We had fun though didn't we?” Dinky nods and gives me a large smile. “let's get this place cleaned up before Derpy gets back.”
“Yeah...”
Dinky and I get started on collecting up the cushions and placing them back in their right places. I give the room a look over as we finish tidying up, I grin and place a hand on Dinky's head.
“Great job Dinks, let's get something to drink OK?”
“Yeah, I'm thirsty.”
Dinky and I was sitting at the kitchen table when Derpy came back, or should I say stormed back.
“She won't do it!” Derpy says walking in to the kitchen and taking a seat next to me. “I asked the Mayor to set up a meeting so you could introduce yourself to the town and she won't do it! She said I was being crazy and making you up!”
I suddenly stand up and my fists clench. I make for the door and Derpy stops me.
“Where are you going?”
I look down to Derpy and grin. “If she won't believe you then I'll just pay her a visit.” I ruffle Derpy's mane and continue towards the door.
“Wait! You can't go out there! Ponyville doesn't know about you yet!”
I look back and smile. “Trust me.” I open the front door and leave walking out into the evening sun. I stand still and take a deep breath. “That feels good.” I mutter to myself. I grinned and started my way to the Town Hall, I knew where it was thanks to Dinky bringing home a map of Ponyville and showing me the different places to go.
I walk passed several shocked looking ponies and kept smiling, I was loving this. I reached the Town Hall and stepped inside. I looked around and spotted a desk with a pony writing with magic, I approached the desk and coughed to get her attention. The mare looks up and she goes wide eyed.
“Hello,” I say in a friendly tone. “I was just wondering if I could speak with the mayor if she's in?”
The mare swallows hard before replying. “W-Who should I say is calling?”
“Tell her the human that Miss Hooves came in about has arrived and wishes to speak with her.”
“Oh, OK. Just give me a moment.” The mare presses a button on a small box on her desk and a mares voice answers.
“Yes Ruby?”
“Miss Mayor I have a...stallion out here asking for you. He says it's about what Miss Hooves came in for?”
There was a long pause. “Send him up please.” The box crackles as the connection is lost.
“The mayors office is upstairs and the third door on the left.” The mare states pointing to the stairs behind her.
“Thank you.” I reply giving her a little head bow.
I head up the stairs and manage to find the mayors office, I straighten my clothes and give the door a knock.
“Come in!”
I push open the door and notice the room was quite large with a bookcase in one corner and an older looking mare with glasses sitting behind a large wooden desk. I also realise the mare isn't even looking at me but had her eyes cast down to a paper work on her desk.
“Look I have a lot of work to do and I don't have time for fantasy games, I already told Miss Hooves that I will not hold a town meeting for a creature that doesn't exist.”
I clench my fist as she doesn't even look up to greet me so I stride over to her desk and thump my fist down on it. The mayor jumps up and finally locks eyes with me. If I wanted to describe the shocked look on the mayor's face I would need a thesaurus.
“That's better, I just don't like it when someone speaks to me and doesn't give me the courtesy of looking at my face.”
The Mayor suddenly pushes the paper work into a drawer and tries to put on a smile but realising it was too late for that.
“P-Please accept my apology on my behaviour, I shouldn't have acted that way.”
I sit on a chair in front of her desk and fold my arms. “Good but I will accept only on one condition.”
“What's that?”
“I would like the town meeting set up and I would like if you apologised to Miss Hooves.”
“That's two conditions.” I narrow my eyes. “Fine! Fine! I will set up the town meeting and give Miss Hooves an apology.” The Mayor takes out a notepad and pencil from a drawer and places them on her desk. “How would you like the meeting set up?”
I raise an eyebrow. “I would like it if all of Ponyville could be there so maybe the park or town square?”
The Mayor nods. “I can do that. Do you know how long it will be? The meeting I mean?”
“Long enough for me to tell the town about myself and answer any questions they might have.”
“Hmm, an hour then maybe two?”
“That would be fine with me.” I reply.
The Mayor writes down some details and then gives me a smile. “I will get the meeting set up and I will send my aid Ruby to let you know any further details.”
I stand up and offer my hand. “Pleasure doing business with you.” The Mayor places her hoof in my hand and I give it a shake before turning and heading out her office.
I walk out of the Town Hall and quickly make it back home to Derpy's. I walk in through the front door and is tackled by a grey mass that pins me against the door.
“I was worried somepony might attack you! Are you OK?”
I stroke Derpy's mane and rest my head on the top of hers. “Yeah, I'm OK and the meeting is being set up.”
“How? You didn't intimidate her did you?”
I chuckle. “No of course not, I just showed her that I was real and that I wanted to introduce myself to Ponyville.” Derpy gives me a narrow stare. “Well I may have thumped my fist down on her desk and stated that I wanted her to apologise to you for being rude.”
Derpy sighs. “Michael, ponies have to like you. What If they found out you forced the mayor to this meeting? They might think you're a savage.”
I laugh. “Really? You think ponies would take me for a threat? I did what any pony would do for their mate.”
I watch as Derpy's wings flare out and she stares into my eyes.
“Mate?” Derpy whispers.
“Yeah, I hope that's the right term?” Derpy lunges forward and presses her lips to mine. “I guess so!” I say when Derpy breaks the kiss.
Derpy gets off my body so I could move from the door. I look around and spot Dinky was still sitting at the table. I walk to the table and sit down, Dinky stares at me but I could tell she was trying to some up the courage to ask me something.
“I know you want to ask me something?” I say giving Dinky a smirk. I laugh when she blushes and looks down.
“I wanted to ask...” Dinky says as she started to rub her front hooves together. I raised an eyebrow when I realised it was the pony form of twiddling your thumbs. “A-Are you going to be my new dad?”
I straightened up at that, it was a right hook question that left no quarter that much was certain. I looked to Derpy and I could see by her expression that the question caught her by surprise as well.
I relaxed and gave her smile. “Your mother and I are not rushing our relationship Dinky but....If everything works out...I would really much like to be your new dad.” I turn my head and notice Derpy was now staring at me with tears in her eyes. I look back to Dinky and notice she to had tears running down her cheeks as she smiled at me. “Come here.” I say gesturing with open arms as I get off my chair.
Dinky slides off her chair and runs into my arms, I hold her tight against me as she sniffs and returns the hug. Dinky and I held each other for several seconds before I felt two wings wrap around us and Derpy get in on the action.
I smiled as I felt the two holding me and I realised at that moment my future lay with them, I now had the most difficult time ahead of me. I now had to find out how to properly court a female that was one a different species and two already a mother. I knew one thing however, I was exactly where I wanted to be.
I stood in the back of the makeshift stage that was set up for the reveal of my presence. I straightened my shirt as my hands started to shake.
“You shouldn't be worried, it will be fine.” Derpy says as she stood next to me. “I think you're brave for doing this.” Derpy adds leaning against me.
I place a hand on her back and my shaking calms a bit. “It's been a few days Derpy, what if the mayor revealed the truth or gossiped to the wrong pony?”
“We would have seen something before now, right?”
I sigh. “Yeah, you're right. I just...I just hope this turns out for the best and not a riot or some monster hunt afterwards.”
“Like I said you're going to be fine.”
Derpy and I turn to the curtain as we both hear a mic being tapped.
Mayor Mare taps the mic and the ponies gathered before the stage fall silent and turn their focus on her. The Mayor looks over the crowd for a few seconds and smiles, the reveal was going to be a success as most of the town bar a few that probably were off somewhere or had better things to do weren't present.
“Mares and Gentlecolts. I know some of you are wondering why you are here and what this stage is set up for. I assure everypony that it is not bad news but in fact good news this is happening. You see nearly a few weeks ago our town was the recipient of a new resident.” There were murmurs through the crowd. The Mayor knew she had to quell the whispering before it got out of hoof. “This visitor is not a danger to anypony nor is he any threat to our kind. All he wishes is to live with us and be one of us. To prove this he has even taken a mate that has two young one's of her own.” More whispers passed through the crowd but they sounded more hopeful than scared. The Mayor smiles as she continues. “This event was requested by him so he may address everypony and reveal himself before a misunderstanding happens.” Mayor Mare turns to the curtain behind her and gestures with one hoof. “Michael, will you come out please?”
There was pure silence until the curtain parted and Michael walked out.
I stood behind the curtain and listened to the Mayors speech, I smile when I didn't hear any shouting. I take a deep breath when the Mayor says my name and asks me to come out. I put one hand on the curtain and walk out, as I step onto the stage the crowd gathered let's out one long gasp.
“Michael, would you address everypony?” The Mayor says gesturing to the nearby mic.
I nod. “Thank You Mayor Mare.”
“Think nothing of it.” The Mayor says walking off to the side.
I walk up to the mic and clear my throat. “Good day everypony, I know some of you are wondering what I am? So to answer that question I'm human or so I know. You see nearly three weeks ago I came to your land by unknown means and sustained an injury that has left me with almost none of my memories. I know my name and what species I am, I even know the name of my old world but much more than that I do not know. My hope is that my memories return in time but I may face the possibility I may never get them back. I know some of you may not believe me and may take time to get used to me being around. I asked your Mayor to set up this meeting so that you may get to know me and hopefully don't get scared by my presence when I walk around Ponyville. The Mayor mentioned about me taking a mate here in Ponyville, that is true. The mare in question took care of me and even healed my wounds that I sustained coming to Equestria, she and her family have shown me compassion and love at a time I felt I had lost everything.” I turn back to the curtain. “Derpy would you come out on stage?” I smiled when Derpy slowly walks out with her head low as she scans the crowd. “Miss Hooves here has been the ambassador of your kind and shown me a great deal about your people. Her daughters have taught me a lot about Equestria and it's history.”
I look over the crowd and could see some faces were smiling while others were still trying to figure me out. “I have said pretty much all that I can say, so does anypony have a question they wish to ask me?” There was silence for a few minutes before a mare raised her hoof. “Yes, you there.”
“Have you made any plans for your future? Are you staying in Ponyville?”
“At the moment my plans are for the here and now as I get to know the town and meet it's residents. As for the future I haven't given it much thought though taking Miss Hooves as my mate has set a path for me.” The mare nods and smiles as she was contented with my answer. I see another mare put her hoof up yet I couldn't help but blink at her as she had striking blue hair and was wearing purple shades. “Uh, yes you with the shades.”
“Hey dude, just to ask you a question on the fly here but are you going to have any foals of your own or are you OK with Miss Hooves two already?”
Wow. Straight to the point this mare, I think to myself. “Uh, for now I have no plans to have any foals yet but If it does happen I would be a very happy stallion.” The Mare nods and as gives me a wink, odd. “Any more questions?” I watch as a purple pony similar to the two princesses walks towards the stage.
“I have a question, If you don't mind?” The pony says.
“Of course but may I ask something in return?” I say. The pony nods. “OK, are you by any chance a princess?”
The pony smiles. “Yes, My name is Twilight Sparkle. I'm the Princess of Friendship, my castle is the big purple crystal tower.”
I turn my head to spot the crystal castle. “I wondered what that was.” I turn back to the princess and give her a bow. “You may ask away your highness.”
The princess giggles. “Just call me Twilight, I was never one for the titles.”
I stand up from my bow and smile. “OK, Twilight.”
Twilight smiles. “My question is this. When you try to remember any of your old memories especially multiple ones do you suffer headaches or pains in your temples?”
I blink. “How did you know?”
Twilight nods. “I think I may be able to help you regain some but not all of your memories.”
I jump down from the stage and stand before Twilight, I also notice five other mares behind her giving me cautious looks. I walk forward and kneel down taking one of her fore hooves.
“Please, even if you can give me partially what I lost. I'll do what It takes.”
Twilight smiles then her face turns serious. “I'm not fully sure it will work though, as I said I may be able.”
“I don't care. If there is a slim chance I'll take it.” I reply.
Twilight's expression turns back into a smile. “Then come to my place in the morning, I will have everything set up.”
I let her hoof go and pull her in for a hug. I hear gasps nearby but nopony tries to break us apart. Twilight finally returns my hug by putting a foreleg around my back.
I pull away. “Thank you Twilight.”
“I haven't done anything yet, wait until tomorrow before thanking me.”
I nod as Twilight and the five other mares turning away but a pony with a rainbow mane gives me a narrow stare. I shrug before turning to the stage and climbing back up, I notice the crowd has gone deathly silent. I turn to the Mayor and I see she was also wondering why everypony was silent. I walk to the mic and give a cough.
“OK, so that was me hugging a princess...scratch that off my list of things to do.” I noticed a tumble weed roll pass the stage. “OK bad pun yeah....Uh? Any more questions?” Silence. “OK then! Mayor Mare I guess back to you?” I walk away back through the curtain and drop to the floor. I was shaking so much that Derpy hugging me wasn't calming me down. I turn my body and embrace Derpy, I dig my nose into her neck and inhale deeply which causes her to giggle.
“That tickles!” Derpy laughs as I continue to sniff her neck. “Michael!” Derpy squeals as I blow a raspberry on her neck.
I laugh as I blow multiple raspberries on Derpy only to stop when a cough breaks the mood. I look up to see Mayor Mare grinning at me. I give her a cheesy grin before standing up and rubbing the back of my neck, I look down to see Derpy was red faced and fanning herself with a wing.
“Michael if you are...finished with your...activity, I have a few papers for you to sign that the princesses sent over.”
“Papers?” I query.
Mayor Mare nods. “It seems Princess Celestia and Princess Luna some how got word of this meeting with the town and sent paper work to officially make you a citizen of Equestria.”
I give her a narrow stare but put a grin on. “You mean so I can pay taxes right?”
The Mayor rolls her eyes. “I'm afraid that is one of the set backs of becoming a citizen.” Mayor Mare laughs.
I nod. “OK, When do you want me to fill them out?”
“I can have Ruby drop them by and you just return them when you finish filling them out.”
I nod again. “Sounds good, I'll complete them as as soon as I can.”
The Mayor bows her head and walks off out the side door, I look down to Derpy and see she was giving me a puppy dog pout. I watch Derpy tilt her head to the side and expose her neck before I realise what she was asking me to do. I grin and pounce.
Derpy and I sat at the kitchen table as Dinky and Sparkler glared at us from the other side. I glance at Derpy and she glances at me. We glance back towards Sparkler as she puts her forelegs on the table in a gesture the way I would link my fingers together.
“I guess you both know why we are here?” Sparkler says keeping a neutral expression.
I shrink down. “I think I do yes...” I almost hide under the table when Sparkler shoots me a glare.
“Well just encase you don't I will explain. I come to the back of the stage with Dinky to find both my mother and her coltfriend rolling on the floor blowing raspberries on each other. I also noticed to which I had to cover Dinky's eyes was you were displaying mother!”
I look to Derpy and could see Derpy was covering her face with her hooves but I could still see the bright red blush on her face.
I turn to Sparkler. “Sparkler, I have no apology to make as Derpy and I are both adults. Though I would have to admit that doing what we did in a public place was out of turn. I apologise for Dinky almost witnessing Derpy's...displaying, I will not apologise for showing your mother the love that I can give her.” I smirk. “Though if Derpy and I do get married there will be a lot of that stuff going on, something you should be prepared for.” I smile when I see the 'Oh Hell' Expression come to Sparklers face. I look to Dinky and could see she was trying to keep her giggles under control.
“Michael's right. Though our conduct was unbecoming of adults the act which we were doing is not. I will apologise for Dinky almost bearing witness to my state, I will continue to love Michael and show him my affections anyway I can.”
Sparkler groans and drops her head to the table, she knew she wasn't going to win this debate.
“Fine, just can you keep some stuff at home? For the sake of everypony?” Sparkler finally asks.
I nod. “I can agree to that.”
“Me too.” Derpy adds.
Sparkler throws up her hooves. “Thank Celestia! Now Dinky you and I have some homework to do.”
Dinky hangs her head and nods. “Yeah...OK.” Dinky slides off her seat and gives me and Derpy a hug each before she walks out the kitchen door.
“I love you mum,” Sparkler says turning to face Derpy. I watch as Sparkler turns to me and smiles. “I love you to...Dad.” Sparkler walks out and I just sit in shock.
“Michael are you OK?” Derpy asks.
I turn my head to give a Derpy a smile as a tear rolls down my cheek. “Yeah...I'm doing fine Derpy.”
I sat up in bed with sweat pouring down my face. My heart was pounding as I tried to calm my breathing. I felt something touch my arm and I looked down to see a grey hoof.
“Is it the dreams again?” Derpy asks me.
I put a hand on my face. “Yeah, it's the same one again.”
“The one with the...what did you say...Explosions?”
“I just can't figure out what they are.” I place my hand on Derpy's hoof and rub her fur. “I think I might have to go see Princess Luna.”
Derpy moves to straddle my lap. “Are you sure that is wise?”
I smile and place both my hands on her sides. I start to rub Derpy's fur and give her a kiss on the lips. I pull away and sigh.
“She is the guardian of dreams isn't she? If I have to find out what these dreams are then she's the best option I have, maybe even Celestia might help.”
Derpy tilts her head. “You think Celestia might help with this?”
“Of course! Princess Celestia does enjoy my diary I send her, she might be more than willing to help.” I say giving Derpy a smile. “Besides it has been over four months since I got here.”
Derpy gives me a light peck on the lips before sliding off my lap. “Don't forget you promised to take Dinky out today, she's really looking forward to spending some time with you now that school is out for the summer.”
I slap my head. “Crap! I forgot about that!” Derpy gives me a scowl. “Whoa! I'll tell you what, why don't I take Dinky to Canterlot with me? That way Dinky and I can spend time together and I can see the princesses too.”
Derpy's scowl turns into a smile as she heads for the bedroom door. “That's sounds perfect, Dinky enjoyed the last time she went to Canterlot and she always asks to go back again.”
“Then that's what we'll do.” I slide out of bed and head for the dresser with the magical parchment Celestia gave me for my diary. “though I think I'll send Princess Celestia a heads up to let her know we're coming.”
“Good, I think I will make some breakfast. You up for anything special?”
I rub my chin before grinning. “I'm up for a slice of hot pony pie if that's on the menu?”
Derpy turns her head away and tilts her nose up. “Sorry but hot pony pie is still out of stock, though we do have some hot tongue and shaft still for purchase.”
I grin as I walk towards her with my hands behind my back. “I suppose this hot tongue is expensive?” I lean down until my nose touches Derpy's.
“It might be.” Derpy whispers. “Though I think you can afford it...” Derpy moves forward and passionately kisses me.
I move my hands and start to play with her wings getting them to extend outwards. I slowly move my hands to her cutie marks and give her butt a squeeze. Derpy let's out a squeak and breaks the kiss.
“You know I'm getting all worked up.” Derpy says giving me a pout.
“You're getting worked up? I'm fully at mast here.” I stand up revealing my erection. “Maybe we should do something about our situations.”
Derpy bats her eyelashes. “What did you have in mind?”
I look to the clock on the nearby bed side table. “We have ten minutes....”
“You think we could do it?”
I turn my head back with a grin on my face. “oh yeah we can do it.”
Derpy and I walk into the kitchen with wide grins, only to see Sparkler giving us both a scowl.
“Uh, did we miss something?” Derpy asks.
Sparkler huffs. “You do realise that the walls in this house are not that thick?”
I feel the heat build in my cheeks and look to Derpy, she to was blushing heavily.
“W-Where's Dinky?” I ask.
“In her room, she almost got traumatised.” Sparkler replies.
Derpy's ears go flat as she turns to walk out the room. “I'll go talk to her.”
“Want me to go with?” I say.
“No, I think this might be the girl talk time.” Derpy replies.
“Oh OK, I'll just wait here then.”
Derpy nods and walks out leaving me with a scowling Sparkler. I sit down at the kitchen table and fold my hands together. I give Sparkler a quick glance only to find she was still staring at me.
“You know staring at someone implies attraction.” I say, looking back up to see Sparkler wide eyed and blushing. “Really easy to get you blushing isn't it.”
Sparkler huffs before her shock turns into a smile. “You are making mother happy more than anything, I can't stay mad at you.” Sparkler chuckles. “I guess you are what mother needed Michael.”
I smile and laugh. “I still don't know much about myself but one thing I do know somehow is that Derpy is the one I needed too.” I put on a serious face for my next question. “Sparkler is there something wrong in the house?”
Sparkler looks at me confused. “What do you mean?”
“I've noticed over the last month or so that Derpy is working later and seems to be tense all the time.”
Sparkler looks away from me as her ears drop. “I-I don't know what you mean....”
“Sparkler. What is wrong?”
Sparkler goes to the kitchen entrance and looks around the corner before turning back.
“OK, you can't tell mother I told you this.” I nod. “Last month mother got a message from the bank in Canterlot stating that unless she pay off a loan then our house will be seized.”
I sit back. “How much is it?”
Sparkler goes to a drawer nearby and takes out a letter in her magic before floating it over and dropping it on the table.
I pick up the letter and open it. I read down the letter until I get to a name next to Derpy's.
“Who's Willow Light?”
Sparkler frowns. “Dinky's father.”
“Oh.” I reply before reading on. “Seven thousand bits!” I say louder than normal before coughing. “Sorry but seven thousand bits?”
“It was a loan for a house that mother co signed for, but that worthless furball left her and now mother has to pay back the debt.”
I drop the letter and push it back to Sparkler. “I won't tell Derpy you showed me that but I'll say I found it looking for some parchment.”
Sparkler nods. “I asked mother why she didn't tell you yet but she just started crying and saying you would leave her if you found out.”
I stand up and take the letter again before moving for the kitchen entrance.
“Michael? Where are you going?”
“I'm going to ask Derpy why she didn't tell me, I could help.”
Sparkler sighs. “Just be careful, mum's been through a lot.”
I give Sparkler a smile. “I love Derpy, I won't jeopardise that.”
I walk out the kitchen just as Derpy with Dinky was coming back. I stand in the hallway with a serious look on my face.
“Derpy could I talk to you a second in the living room?”
Derpy tilts her head. “Of course, Dinky I'll be there in a moment.”
“OK mom.” Dinky replies heading into the kitchen.
I gesture for Derpy to enter the living room first to which made her even more confused. I follow after and close the small partition that acted as a door. I turn to Derpy as noticed she had taken a seat on the couch.
“What's wrong Michael?”
I take a deep breath and let it out in a sigh. “Derpy. I found something a few days ago that made me both angry and hurt.” I gauge Derpy's expression but it was just growing more confused. “I found this in the kitchen as I was trying to search for non magical parchment.” I hold up the letter and instantly Derpy's face went pale and her ears dropped. “I guess you know what this is?” Derpy slowly nods. “I was angry from what I read but I was hurt that when I asked you last week if there was anything bothering you that you could talk to me, you said there was nothing major.” I dropped the letter on the nearby single chair. “Why didn't you tell me?”
Derpy starts to sniff. “I couldn't...” I see a single tear roll down her left cheek. “I couldn't risk you leaving me for being useless.”
“Useless? Who says you're useless? I certainly don't see you that way at all. Look at you Derpy, you juggle both a full time job plus have two beautiful daughters that you make the time for. If you're useless then I'm Princess Celestia in disguise. I don't think Sparkler and Dinky would call you useless do you? No, they would say you're the best mum in Equestria.” I kneel down in front of Derpy and put a hand on her shoulder. “You are wonderful, beautiful and dedicated to your children. That is about as far away from useless as you can be.” I remove my hand and place it on Derpy's cheek, I lean forward and give her a quick kiss. “I'm going to help you with the debt and I don't want to hear any excuses why I can't.” I stand up as Derpy just stares at me in silence before sighing and nodding. “Great! Now first thing though is that I have to break the bad news to Dinky that she's coming with me to Canterlot.”
Derpy giggles. “Oh yes, she's really going to hate that.”
I stood on the train platform waiting for the Canterlot train to turn up. I look down at my travelling companion to see Dinky shaking with excitement.
“You sure are excited to go ain't you?” I ask Dinky.
Dinky looks up to me and beams a smile. “I am! I enjoyed my time there on the school trip, though that Discord guy wasn't very nice.” Dinky scowls at Discords name which I find adorable. “I heard a few things about this Discord but not much, most I've heard is that he's a trouble maker or monster.”
Dinky nods. “I would go with scary but monster kind of gets closer to him, he's a mixture of different creatures.”
I rub my chin. “I don't know if I would like to meet him but I can't judge anyone I haven't met.” I hear a whistle. “Ah trains coming.”
Dinky and I watch the train stop at the station platform and ponies get off. I walk in with Dinky after the train conductor stamps our tickets. I walk to a seat in the carriage and sit down with Dinky joining me seconds later. Dinky lays down next to me and puts her head on my lap as I idly start to stroke her mane. The train whistles as it pulls away from the station, I turn to gaze out the window hoping that Princess Luna can help me with my dreams.
I never really knew what Canterlot was like. The only information I had got on the city was from a tourist map I had found in Ponyville's Town Hall and from Dinky's description of it. So It came as a huge surprise to me when the train stopped and Dinky and I got out.
“Wow...” I say in wonder at the city before me. “This is one big city.”
“Sure is.” Dinky replies. “So where are we going first?”
I mentally slap my head as I never really explained to Dinky what we are going to do here.
“I have to meet somepony very important to discuss a problem I have.”
Dinky frowns. “Is it going to be boring?”
“I don't think so. Let's just get there and we shall see.” I say smiling down at her.
Dinky huffs. “OK....”
Dinky and I head through the city as I follow the route to the castle I had in my head. I started to notice Dinky getting closer to me and pressing into my leg. I looked down to find Dinky was almost cowering at the ponies passing by. I had long since noticed all their glares where at me but I gave them no glance. I did the only thing at that point which I knew would cheer Dinky up. I leant down and picked Dinky up putting her on my shoulders.
I looked up to see Dinky looking down at me. I gave her a smile to which she slowly returned. I continued heading towards the castle when I heard two ponies mention something about me.
“Ugh! To think they let the animals walk the streets.”
“Yes, I know darling not very civilised is it?”
I quickly turn much to the surprise of the two ponies and give them a grin. “It's ironic you mention being civilised when one of the greatest acts of unsophisticated behaviour is to talk behind someone's back. Though because you look like you don't quite follow my big words I shall say it in a way most clear.” I look up to Dinky. “Please cover your ears Dinks.” Dinky puts her fore hooves over her ears. I look back down to the two ponies. “You two are complete pricks.” I bow my head slightly. “Have a nice day.” I turn and continue walking.
“What did you say?” Dinky asks me as the castle comes into sight.
“I'll tell you when you're older.” Dinky sighs but I stick out a hand and point. “That's where we are going.”
“The castle? We are going to the castle!?” Dinky could barely hold her excitement.
I chuckle. “Yes, I have to ask Princess Luna for help with something.”
“I will meet the princesses?”
I nod as I look up. “Yup, if we can get in to see them.”
I stood with my mouth almost hanging agape, Dinky and I looked at the throne room and could see nearly twenty ponies waiting outside with three bored looking guards keeping watch. I looked up at Dinky and could see the disappointment on her face.
“Don't worry Dinks, I'm sure it won't take long to get to see them.” I say giving her a smile.
Dinky looks down and returns my smile. “Yeah, I'm sure it won't take long...”
I lent against the wall with Dinky in my arms. Dinky had long since fallen asleep and I cradled her like a child which made me smile. I stroked her mane with a free hand and I could feel a strong feeling of love for her. I was brought out of my thoughts when a guard approached me.
“The princesses are free sir if you would like to see them?”
I nod. “Yes please. Just give a me a second to wake my filly.”
The guard bows his head. “Certainly sir, I'll let the princesses know you are the last.”
I watch the guard leave before turning my gaze back to Dinky. I begin to poke her nose and laugh when Dinky squirms and tries to bat away my hand.
“Five more minutes...” Dinky says and tries to bury her head into my chest.
I found my heart was thumping so loud as I cradle Dinky and decide to let her sleep, she'll wake up when she hears the princesses. I secure my hold on Dinky and head to the main throne room door. A guard opens the door and gives me a smile.
“Couldn't wake her huh?” The guard asks.
I shake my head. “Nope.”
The guard nods. “My little one's are like that but she'll wake soon enough.”
“I hope so, she was so excited to see the princesses.”
The guard looks to the door and then back to me. “Speaking of which they are waiting.”
I give him a shocked look before walking in. The guard closes the door and I look towards the two thrones at the back of the room. I swallow hard and walk slowly forward. Dinky's book had great pictures of the castle and throne room but it didn't do it justice. I was halfway up the carpet when Dinky started to wake.
“Michael? Are we in yet?” Dinky asks rubbing her eyes.
I give her a nuzzle. “Yeah we are.”
Dinky look forward and then grabs my neck when she sees the princess both looking down at us as we approach the thrones.
“Michael. It's nice to see you again.” Celestia says.
“Indeed, it is pleasurable to see you in Canterlot.” Luna adds.
I bow my body or as much as I could considering Dinky hasn't let my neck go yet.
“It's good to see you both again but I'm afraid I haven't come for a casual visit.” I say.
“Oh?” Celestia says. “Are you having trouble?”
“Actually it's a problem I think you can help me with Princess Luna.” I state.
“Me? What problem do you have that requires my assistance?” Luna replies stepping down from her throne.
“The last week or so I have been having these nightmares, they portray explosions or some violent action of sorts. I have been trying to make sense of them but with my memories still not returning I have no bases to go on.” I look down to Dinky who was looking up at me with surprise. “My marefriend Derpy has known about the nightmares but Dinky here does not. I kept the nightmares to myself as I didn't know what they are but as you are the princess of dreams I thought you might be able to help me sort them out.”
Luna hums and nods. “I shall need time to prepare a direct mind link as it is different from just going into a dream.”
“A mind link?” I ask.
“Yes, It is a form of dream magic that links my thoughts directly to yours. In this way I can directly manipulate your nightmares or dreams to find their source.” Luna says. “The procedure is long and could take some time to complete but I can do it here in Canterlot or if you prefer at home where you are comfortable?”
I look to Dinky who leans against my leg. “I think back home would be better so I can have Derpy by my side.”
Luna nods. “Then that is where I shall come two days from now to perform the link.”
“Two days? That long?” I say.
“I have to prepare my mind for the link and meditation can take some time.” Luna replies.
I nod. “Then I shall see you in two days princess.” I look to Celestia. “If you wish to come too Princess Celestia, I have no objections.”
Celestia smiles at me. “I might just do that, I can visit Twilight while I'm there.”
I nod. “I look forward to seeing you both in two days then.”
“Michael I just need to know one thing more.” Princess Luna asks as she sits back on her throne. “Do the dreams seem like you're looking from the outside in or are they like you're looking through someponies eyes?”
“A bit of both. Sometimes it's like I'm there and others it's like I'm just watching.” I reply.
“Thank you Michael, that's all I need.”
I nod my head and gesture for Dinky to follow me. “Come on Dinks let's get back home.”
Dinky and I leave the throne room and head back to the train station. I sat on the bench as Dinky jumped up beside me and lent into my side.
“Are you OK Michael?” Dinky asks.
“Yeah, I think with Princess Luna's help I can find out just what these memories are.”
The train didn't take long to arrive and we got back into Ponyville by late afternoon. Dinky had run off to play with some of her friends after giving me a hug and I decided to head home as I needed the tender loving kisses of a certain grey mare. I stepped up to the door and that's when I stopped as I heard shouting from inside.
“You left me all alone seven years ago and you come to me now! Just get out and leave me alone!” Derpy shouts.
“Derpy my love. I made a mistake back then, I was in a bad way and didn't want to drag you down with me.” A stallion replies. “I wanted to come back but it took years for me to sort myself out.”
“You could of wrote letters! I'm a mail pony for buck sake!”
I had heard enough and opened the door. I walked into the house and heard crying come from the living room, I quickly strode in to see Derpy in tears and a unicorn stallion with a colour coat not that far off from Dinky's.
“Derpy, what's going on?” I ask.
“It's OK Michael, Willow Wheat was just leaving.”
The unicorn stares at me in shock. “This! This is the one you have taken to your bed!? This monster!?”
I stride up to the unicorns face and give him a punch, the unicorn falls to the floor where I pick him up and carry him to the front door. I open the door and toss him out into the front yard. The unicorn looks back up to as he rubs his cheek.
“You harass my marefriend again or even think of coming within thirty yards of Derpy, Sparkler or Dinky that cheek will be the last of your worries!” I say with a scowl before slamming the door. I hear the unicorn say I will pay for my mistake before he takes off. I let out the breath I was holding and slide down the front door to my ass. I lift up my hands and found them to be shaking. I look up to see Derpy staring at me from the living room door.
Derpy suddenly lunges at me and wraps her fore legs around my neck as she thrusts her lips against mine. I found myself now locked in a lip fight with Derpy.
Derpy breaks the kiss and she gives me a look that only a predator can give. “I so want to have your foals right now! If you could feel how wet I am!”
I reel back and Derpy's forwardness. “What's gotten into you?”
“You stood up for me and tossed that worthless pile of manure out on his plot. I want to ravish you until we both can't walk but we both agreed about going all the way.” Derpy closes her eyes and puts her head against my chest. “It's driving me nuts! I want to feel you inside me and I can't, I don't want to rush things and ruin them! It's so frustrating!”
I place a hand on the back of Derpy's head and start to stroke her mane. “I don't want to ruin what we have by rushing into things Derpy but to be honest if we did it weeks from now or even months, do you think it would make a difference?”
“You mean?” Derpy says raising her head with hope in her eyes.
I lean forward and give her a quick peck on the lips. “How long do you think we have?”
“Long enough!” Derpy says leaping out of my embrace and literally pulling me to the bed room. “I'm going to buck your brains out!”
I smirk. “I have no qualms about that.” I state as I get pulled into Derpy's room and the door is quickly shut behind me.
I waited in the living room with Derpy sitting by my side. Sparkler and Dinky sat nearby. I look up to Dinky and Sparkler and they both give me smiles which I return.
“Everything's going to be fine Michael.” Derpy says. “Just relax.”
“Yeah, we're here for you!” Dinky states smiling broadly.
I sigh. “I know you all are but I'm not nervous about the the mind thing. I'm afraid that I might remember who I am and not love any of you anymore.” I lower my head. “I don't want to forget you.”
Derpy puts a wing over my shoulders and nuzzles my neck. “You won't forget us, you love us too much for that to happen.”
I return Derpy's wing by wrapping my right arm around her body. I pull her closer and give her a squeeze. I snap my gaze towards the front door when I hear several knocks. I feel my heart rate increase.
Derpy places a hoof on my shoulder as she moves to answer the front door. “Just relax.” Derpy adds looking back as she exits.
I hear the front door open and Derpy greet someone. I watch the entrance to the living room with angst. My heart stops when Derpy returns with Celestia and Luna close behind. I stand on reflex.
“Princesses!” I say a little louder than normal and follow it with a forced grin.
Celestia smiles. “Michael, it's nice to see you again.”
“Indeed. I hope the last few days haven't been stressful for you?” Luna adds.
“N-No! I've been fine!” I say, slowly losing my mind.
Derpy sighs. “He's been freaking out everyday since he got back from Canterlot.”
“Traitor...” I mumble.
“I know.” Derpy replies giving me a hug.
Luna steps forward. “There is nothing to be concerned about Michael. I have gone through my meditations and I am highly positive the mind link will be successful.”
I sigh. “I'm not worried about the mind link princess. I'm worried that I might regain my memories and forget the ones I love.” I look to Derpy. “I don't want to lose them.” I turn my gaze back to Luna as I feel a hoof on my shoulder.
“You will not forget them Michael. New memories cannot be easily erased.” Luna states giving me a smile. “Though if you would like to postpone the link, we can reschedule.”
I shake my head. “No, I think the quicker we do this the better.”
Luna nods and gestures for me to lie down on the couch. “It will be less taxing on you if you lie down.”
I nod and lie down on the couch. I look to Derpy who had moved and sat with Dinky and Sparkler. I sign and look to Luna. “Let's do this.”
Luna turns to look at Celestia. “Sister what ever happens you must not get involved.”
“You have my word.” Celestia answers before looking to Derpy. “You too Miss Hooves.”
“You have my word too Princesses.” My marefriend replies.
I watch with baited breath as Luna gives me a smile as her horn lights with magic. I tense as Luna's horn inches towards me and finally touches my forehead. The whole world goes black.
I awake to find my body floating in a bright white room. I turn my head and look around at the glowing walls and ceiling. I get startled when Luna appears next to me, her dark blue coat a huge contrast against the white background.
“Hmm, This is certainly a bright mind you have.” Luna says twisting and turning beside me.
“This is my mind?” I ask surprised.
Luna nods. “Every mind is different, some have different shapes colours even dimensions. It can sometimes be difficult to adjust but I find this soothing.”
I stare at the white ceiling and float on my back. “I expected more...”
Luna laughs. “And there shall be.” Luna activates her horn and we float to the ground as thirty orbs appear around us. I notice all but a few are hazy which makes them hard to make out. “This isn't right...” Luna says.
“What isn't right?” I question.
“These orbs are representations of your memories. I expected some to be blanked out but this many...I just don't know what to say....it shouldn't be possible.” Luna reaches up and touches an orb, I see it ripple but not much else. “I think we should begin as soon as possible. If you go too long without these memories you could suffer long term damage.”
“What kind of damage?” I ask now worried.
“It could lead to serious brain damage.”
I go to reply when one of the orbs draws my attention. I walk up to it and it brightens. “Uh, Luna! You might what to see this!” I call out.
Luna trots up to the orb and scans it. “It seems this is the first memory that needs a repair or a good place to start.”
“So how does this work? I mean I'm new to the whole in my mind sort of thing.”
Luna smiles and gestures to the orb. “You just place your hand on the orb and your mind will do the rest.”
“How many do you think need to be repaired?”
Luna taps her chin. “I'm not sure. I usually only have to deal with one or two but all these...” Luna gestures widely to the other orbs. “...I've never had to deal with this many.”
I swallow hard as I raise up my hand to an orb. “So I just touch it?” Luna nods. “OK..here goes.” I place my hand on the orb and watch as the light it was emanating grew and engulfed Luna and I.
Derpy sat now for over two hours as her coltfriend and Princess Luna sat immobile. Sparkler and Dinky were still encased in her wings and all four females in the room watched intently. Derpy was still aware of the other princess in the room and had thought about offering her a cup of tea or something. Derpy knew this was probably nerve racking for Celestia too as it was Luna putting her life on the line to help a stranger, even when Luna was the only one who could help said stranger.
“Mummy...I need to go pee...” Dinky said giving Derpy a pout.
“OK my muffin.” Derpy replies opening her wing.
Derpy watches as Dinky trots by Celestia but not before giving her a bow to which the princess dips her head.
“What do you think is happening in there?” Sparkler asks drawing both Celestia and Derpys gaze.
“I'm never really sure what happens when Luna does this type of magic but she did say it's like entering a dream where the pony is in full control.” Celestia turns her gaze back to her sister. “But I still worry...”
I push Luna out the way as another blast sends mud and sand up into the air. I cough before looking back at the princess. My eyes go wide as Luna just stood in the centre of the beach, the bullets whizzing pass her.
“Princess get down!” I shout and more fire rakes the small mound of sand I was lying behind.
Luna turns to me and smiles. “Why are you hiding? You can't be hurt here Michael, not with me around.”
I take deep breaths before standing up and turn to gaze upon the world we have entered into. I don't remember ever being in something like this but slowly I started see flashes of what this place was in my head. Luna seeing me put a hand to my head trots over and the noise and screams around us die down.
“Are you remembering something?” Luna asks.
“I'm not sure. I'm having flashes in my head about this place.” I look at the large structures pouring the bullets down into the others of my kind on the beach. A pain shoots through my heart as I see the men cut down. I couldn't hurt them but I could see their faces screaming and the blood was everywhere. “I think this was a conflict on my old world, a war of some kind but I can't recall the name or when it happened.”
Luna touches my arm with a wing. “Don't force the memories Michael let them come naturally.”
I nod and close my eyes. “I see this beach before the men. I remember 'Normandy'.” I open my eyes and look to Luna. “This beach is called Normandy or at least the attack is called that I'm not sure.” I point up to the structures. “Those are structures that belong to a nation called Germany, this attack was a turning point..I..I..” I shake my head. “I can't remember much else, it's just not there.” I look to Luna when I feel a wing touch my shoulder. “Sorry...”
Luna smiles. “Don't be hard on yourself Michael, this is a start.” Luna gestures to the battle around us. “The fact you can recall as much as you did means this is a viable treatment. I'm not saying this is something that's going to work in the short term.” Luna's horn lights up and the memory vanishes. “I think we should get back.”
I nod. “Thank you Luna for this.”
Luna bows her head. “To be honest the chance to see an alien mind is more than enough incentive to help.” Luna chuckles. “I would be honoured to help you open more memories but today has been taxing on our minds, we should leave.”
I nod as Luna lights her horn and the white 'room' of my mind fades.
Derpy shifts forward when Princess Luna opens her eyes and sighs. Derpy grabs Sparkler in a crushing hug when Michael opens his eyes and puts his hands to his face.
Sparkler gasps. “Mum! Can't breathe!”
Derpy let's Sparkler go. “Sorry Sparkler.”
Sparkler waves a hoof as she catches her breath again. “N-No problem mum.”
“Wow, that was some rush.” Michael says.
“How are you feeling?” Luna asks.
“Little woozy but OK.” Michael replies. “Though I think I need my grey Pegasus.”
Derpy suddenly jumps off the chair and runs to Michael wrapping her legs around his neck.
“I'm so glad your OK.” Derpy states nuzzling Michael's neck.
Michael wraps his arms around Derpy and sighs into her mane. “It wasn't as bad as I thought it was. You were right, I shouldn't have worried.”
Derpy chuckles. “Told you.”
“I am pleased you are fine Michael.” Celestia says walking forward. “I was worried your mind would be too different for the link.”
“I to was sceptical about the link but it proved fruitful. I think with more links Michaels memory could be restored.” Luna says, now recovering. “Though at the moment we both need rest, the link was taxing.”
Michael nods from the couch. “Thank you Princess.”
Luna turns and smiles. “It was my pleasure Michael.” Luna stands and heads for the exit with Celestia in tow. Luna looks back once more and nods before leaving.
I watch as Luna and Celestia exit the living room and I give Derpy a squeeze. I look around and notice Sparkler was giving me a smile. I hold out my arm and gesture for her to join in something she wasn't going to hesitate in doing. I sigh when Sparkler piles on and hugs me to. I feel a third weight press down a few seconds later as Dinky jumps on top.
“I love all of you and I think a change needs to happen.” I say.
Derpy lifts her head up. “What change?”
I smile and give her a quick peck on the lips. “I need to get a job, I can't lay about here all day.” I look to Dinky and Sparkler. “What do you girls think?”
Dinky nods. “I don't know what to think since I don't work.”
“I think is a great idea!” Sparkler says with a grin before turning to Derpy. “Mum you always said they where looking for somepony to work in the mail centre. Maybe Michael could do it?”
Derpy looks to me with worry. “If they do say yes, are you sure you're up for it?”
I smile and nod. “I have to get out sometime and if your bosses do let me work there then at least I'll be with you.”
Derpy squeals in joy and hugs me tighter. I hug back with what I could muster in this family pony pile. Tomorrow I'm going job hunting and I couldn't be more excited.
I look in the bathroom mirror and adjust the tie around my neck. I check my teeth to make sure I brushed then properly and turned throwing my arms out wide.
“How do I look?”
Derpy stares at me with one closed eye. “Good enough to ravage.” Derpy states giving me a grin.
“Careful,” I say poking her nose. “I might take up that declaration.”
Derpy chuckles. “Come on, you don't want to be late.”
I nod. “So what's this Parcel Box like?”
“He's a great stallion. He brought the Ponyville Postal Service four years ago and has turned it into one of the best delivery services this side of Canterlot mountain. He prides his work force over anything else and only demands the best out of us.”
“Sounds like a hard ass.” I state.
Derpy gasps. “Oh no! He's wonderful. If you have personal problems he always has an open door for you. If it wasn't for you I would probably have him riding my back.”
I stop dead with my mouth agape. “R-really?”
Derpy turns and flicks her tail at me. “I'm joking, he's married with four kids and twice my age.” Derpy continues her walk and laughs.
“That wasn't funny...” I mutter following after my mare.
Derpy opens the front door after putting on a outfit that screams Mailmare. She even had a baseball cap with what must be the postal service logo.
“What?” Derpy asks as I was clearly staring at her. “Do I have something on my uniform?” Derpy spins around looking for something out of place.
I smile. “No, you look fine. I was just admiring the look.”
Derpy stops her spinning and sways up to me. “Well, if you're a good boy then maybe I can wear this next time we're alone.” Derpy turns away and drags her tail across my stomach.
“Stupid sexy ass mare...” I whisper.
“What was that?”
“Nothing!” I quickly answer following Derpy out and closing the door behind me.
“Michael, I really hope Parcel Box likes you. It would be great to work together.” Derpy says as we walk along the street.
I nod. “I do too Derpy. I'm not about to let you struggle to feed another mouth. It's just not right.”
I sat on a stool in the office of Parcel Box and my hands didn't stop sweating. Derpy and I had arrived just as the morning shift was leaving and then I noticed something. All the delivery ponies had wings, they were all Pegasi. Only the receptionist was an earth pony. Derpy had gone off towards the back to get her assignments and the receptionist led me to the office where I have sat for nearly ten minutes.
I stared at the floor but looked up when the door to the office opened and a grizzled Pegasi stallion entered. I stood up and waited for the stallion to sit behind the large desk in front of me.
“Please sit.” The stallion says gesturing to the stool.
I sit down and let the stallion take the lead. The stallion takes out a box from the desk and pulls out a long brown stick from inside. “Do you smoke Michael?” I pause. “I know who you are. Young miss Derpy has spoken to me about you.”
“I hope nothing bad sir and to answer I'm not sure that I do smoke.” I reply.
The stallion nods but takes out a second brown stick and rolls it across the desk. I reach out and stop it before it falls off. I bring it to my nose and give it a sniff. I frowned. The stick smelled like mint but had other tones to it my brain just couldn't recognise.
The stallion laughs. “I take it you haven't had a cigar before?”
“I'm not sure, my memories are fragmented so most of my knowledge is gone until I can get it back.” I state.
The stallion nods. “Would you like to try it?”
I give the cigar a look then nod. “Try things once right?”
The stallion lights a match with a wing and uses a tip of a feather to hold it out towards me. I hold the cigar out to the flame and watch as the tip of the cigar smoulders and smokes. The stallion tosses the match away after putting it out with a wing flip. I watch him puff on his and copy the motion. I cough a few times but the taste and texture wasn't that bad. I take a few puffs and blow out the smoke.
“Not bad. The mint flavour really helps it.” I say getting a grin from the Stallion in return.
“I like a stallion that can appreciate the finer things in life.” The stallion then gets serious. “Michael, names Parcel Box. I'm the owner of Ponyville Postal Service. I would like you to be honest with me, if that's OK?”
“Certainly sir.” I reply.
Parcel Box nods. “Good. I have a close relationship with all of my workers. I believe that if you treat your workers like family then they will work their best. I love my family Michael. My wife my children, I love all of them.”
“Y-Yes sir.”
“After Miss Hooves spoke to me about you and what you are going through I had to speak to you myself. I have great respect for Derpy and how she has kept her family going. When she told me you and her are now an item I could see the sparkle in her eyes. I want to ask you a question Michael and I want an honest answer. Do you love Derpy and her family?”
I removed the cigar from my mouth and placed it on a dish that Parcel Box had put his cigar on. I looked him in the eye and replied. “With all my heart.”
Parcel Box grinned broadly. “Welcome to the Postal Service.”
“Just like that?”
Parcel Box chuckles. “What? Did you think I was going to ask for your lifes history? I already know you have memory problems so that wouldn't work.” Parcel Box stands up and walks around the desk. “I always pride myself on my ability to see others for who they are. It helps when you own your own business.” I nod. “Good, now I know you don't have wings so flying is out of the question. I may however have a job you can do, if you don't mind a little walking?”
I shake my head. “No sir, I promised Derpy I would do my best and I mean it.”
“Great! Follow me my boy and I'll show you the task.”
I walk out with Parcel Box and wait as he speaks to his receptionist. Parcel motions for me to follow him as we pass through a set of doors leading into the back area of the building. I look at the other ponies milling about noticing the different packages they carry. I turn my gaze to Parcel Box as he starts to talk.
“This here is the main sorting room for any parcels or letters we have delivered from the Canterlot Dispatch Warehouse. The letters are sorted by name number and street but the parcel side is where the help is needed.”
I follow Parcel as we pass the room into another large area where rows of carriages stood. I look to each in turn only to realise they are full of parcels but no pony was tending them.
I hear Parcel sigh and gesture to the carriages. “This is the job I'm almost pulling my hair out with Michael. The carriages here all have parcels ready to be delivered to local businesses. I however have no pony on staff strong enough to pull them and with all the mail back log, I can't spare anyone.”
I rub my chin and walk up to the first carriage. I notice the harness on the front for a pony to hook into but not practical for me...unless. I cheer in my head when the harness ring can be rotated and clasped around my waist. I walk forward and with a little effort I can get the carriage moving. I then realise the carriage wasn't really that heavy for me and I could probably pull it with only a little effort on my part.
I look to Parcel box to see him smiling. “I guess this is what you want me to do as a job?”
Parcel Box nods. “If you can handle the carriages then the Courier job is yours.”
I walk the carriage around the loading area for a few minutes. I stop the carriage and back it into the space it came from. I unhook myself and give Parcel a smile. “I'll do it.” I hold out my hand.
“My boy, you and I are going to get along fine.” Parcel puts his hoof in my hand and we shake.
“So when do you want me to start?” I ask.
“Would now be OK for you?” Parcel asks.
I nod. “Is it possible I could go home and get changed, my suit really isn't the best for pulling carriages.”
Parcel nods. “That's fine with me Michael.” Parcel turns to walk away but looks back. “Oh! I almost forgot!” Parcel reaches up and takes a large folded piece of paper out of his mane. I really got to know how ponies do that. “This is for you. Derpy told me 'it's from your mare with love!'”
I take the paper from his out stretched hoof as Parcel walks away and I unfold it. It was a map of Ponyville with all the local businesses ringed and named. I notice the postal building has been marked for reference. I spot in the bottom corner a little note from Derpy.
“I knew you would accept.” I read out loud and smile at the little X kiss near the writing. “Thanks Derpy.” I say and pocket the map. “Well better get home, looks like my afternoon is going to be booked.”
I leave home and head back to work. Heh, still sounds weird when I think about Derpys house as home. I shake my head of thoughts when I walk through the main entrance of the Ponyville post and get stopped by the receptionist.
“Excuse me sir!” The mare says giving me a wave.
“What can I do for you?” I reply turning around.
“Mr Parcel Box gave me a package for you, he said it's for future employment.” The mare lifts up a box from under her desk and places it on the counter.
I go to take the box but realise I don't know the mares name. “Thank you..miss?” I say holding out my hand.
“Oh!” The mare states putting her hoof in my hand to shake. “I'm Clover.”
I shake Clovers hoof. “Nice to meet you Clover, my names Michael.”
“Nice to meet you too Michael.”
We both shake and I let go gesturing behind me. “Well I have to go, busy afternoon.”
Clover waves. “Good luck!”
I give the mare a wave back and proceeded through the double doors into the back of the building. I walk passed several ponies filling letter satchels and bags. I give them waves and they return them much to my pleasure. I walk into the back loading area to find a young pegasus mare counting the packages in the carriages I'm supposed to work. The mare doesn't notice me approach so I cough to get her attention.
“Huh?” The mare turns around and smiles broadly. “Hello!” The mare says suddenly flying up to me. “You must be the human my father said is starting here today?” The mares broad smile never leaves her face.
I walk back a step. “Y-Yeah, my names Michael.”
“Great! My names Stamp, my father is Parcel Box.”
I hold out my hand. “Nice to meet you Stamp.”
The mare grabs my hand in both of her fore hooves after putting a clip board under her wing. “Nice to meet you too Michael!”
Stamp lets me go and I gesture to the carriages. “Is everything OK?”
“What?” Stamp states looking back at the carriages. “Oh! You mean what I was doing?” I nod. “I was just counting the parcels inside of them just to make sure nothing was removed. It's all there for you and everything checks out.”
“Good, I don't want anything to go wrong on my first day.”
Stamp laughs. “You'll be fine!”
“I hope so, I'm glad Derpy gave me a map of all the businesses. I'm not familiar with everything in town yet.” I say.
“My father told me you and Miss Derpy are together, I'm happy for you two. Miss Derpy deserves to have a stallion in her life.” Stamp looks behind me. “Oh, I have to go! It was nice meeting you Michael!” Stamp shouts as she flies pass me and out the loading bay.
“Wow, she was something.” I say.
I shake my head and turn towards the carriages. “Well let's see what I have and get started.”
I spend a few minutes looking over the carriages and decide number two carriage held parcels easier for me to deliver. I turn the harness level and attach it around my waist. I give the harness a little tug to make sure it won't break and then I pull the carriage towards the exit at the back of the building.
I take a deep breath and put the cap from my gear on my head. “OK, let's see who's first.” I take a bag from the back and find it was for the Quill and Sofas store in town. “Right! First stop!” I grunt a little as the carriage had a little resistance on the road outside but I get it rolling nicely.
I make it into town in quick time and check Derpy's map for the shop I'm heading to. I get to the store after ten minutes and park up outside. I give a couple of mares a wave as they walk out the store and the two mares giggle returning my wave. I head inside with the parcel bag and find a stallion tending to a couple of sofas.
“Excuse me? Are you the owner?” I ask the stallion getting his attention.
The stallion gives me a smile. “That would be me! Feather Quill at your service.”
I shake his hoof he offers and show him the bag. “Parcel delivery for you.”
Feather Quill takes the bag and lets out a breath of relief. “Thank you, I've been waiting for these parcels.” The stallion turns and walks to the back before returning with a parcel of his own. “This is a fragile urgent delivery to Canterlot.”
I take the parcel carefully and nod. “I'll make sure it stays safe.” I hold up a clipboard from the carriage with the names of the stores on it. “Could I get a signature for delivery?”
“Oh of course.” Feather Quill gets a quill from his desk and signs next to his stores name.
“Thank you, have a good day sir.” I say tipping hat.
“You too!” Feather Quill gives me a wave as I leave.
I return to my carriage and check the next bag. “That went well.” I state as I store Feather Quills parcel in the carriage. “I hope all my parcels are that easy.” I smile as I reattach to the carriage and head to my next stop.
Derpy flies towards Ponyville Post and sighs as it comes into sight. She lands and cracks her wings.
“That felt good...” Derpy states before walking in. “I wonder how Michael got on?”
“Hi Derpy, how are you?” Stamp asks trotting out of the sorting room.
“Hi Stamp! How's things?”
Stamp beams a smile. “Great! Your Colt friend has made Dad very happy!”
“He has?” Derpy asks tilting her head.
“Yeah! In four hours he delivered all of the three carriages of parcels and has been helping out in the sorting room getting the carriages ready for tomorrow.”
Derpy looked shocked. “Wow. That's surprised even me, I would have thought his first day would have been hard.”
“Me too, but he's really taken to the job. Dad's ready to promote him already!”
Derpy chuckles. “I know Parcel is a great boss to us but promote someone on their first day? I just don't see it.”
“I know but when Dad told me he might I didn't realise it was possible.” Stamp looks to a nearby clock. “Sorry Derpy but I have an errand to run. I'll see you later OK?”
Derpy smiles. “Of course Stamp! See you!” Derpy watches Stamp leave and heads for the sorting room. Derpy opens the door and comes upon Michael talking with Parcel Box.
“So you see Parcel if you make drop points around town for the parcels people want to post it will cut the time needed for pick up.” Michael states pointing at a map of Ponyville.
“You might have a point Michael. I'll talk to the mayor and see if we can draw up something.” Parcel replies rubbing his chin. “Though I think we have company.” Parcel turns to Derpy.
Derpy blushes. “I'm not interrupting anything am I?”
Parcel shakes his head. “No, we were just finishing up Derpy.” Parcel turns back to Michael. “You done well today Michael. Keep it up my boy and you'll go far.” Parcel nods his head before turning and leaving by the main door.
Derpy watches Parcel leave before turning back to her stallion. “You took to the job well I hear?”
Michael leans on a nearby table and smiles. “I just can't explain it Derpy, I seem to have a natural understanding of this kind of thing.” Michael stands and crosses to Derpy and gives her a kiss. “But enough about me. How was your day?”
Derpy sighs. “Tough. The back log of letters is far worse than what I feared.”
Michael looks to the still full carts of letters waiting to be sorted. “Yeah, it can only get better though right?”
Derpy nods slowly. “I guess but I just want to get home and relax.”
Michael grins. “How about a wing rub...or was you wanting more than that?”
Derpy chuckles. “Wing rub sounds good. I'm too tired for anything else.”
“OK, let's go home.” Michael says.
I walk along side Derpy as she tries to keep up. I glance down and see her eyes drooping a little. I smile when a thought pops into my head. I walk in front of Derpy getting her to stop and I kneel down with my back facing her.
“Michael?” Derpy asks giving me a confused look.
“You're tired Derpy now hup!” I say gesturing to my back.
“I'm not riding on your back.”
“You let me ride yours so it's only fair you ride mine once in awhile.” I reply smirking.
Derpy hits my head with a wing. “Don't say that in public! Somepony might hear you!”
I chuckle. “Just get up and stop complaining.”
Derpy sighs. “Fine, this is going to be embarrassing...”
Derpy climbs onto my back and I grab her butt with my hands and lock my fingers. Derpy puts her fore legs over my shoulders as she rests her head on the back of my neck.
“Comfy?” I ask.
“Mm hmm.” Derpy replies.
I look towards home and start to walk. It doesn't take long to reach home and I see Dinky waiting outside as I approach.
“Dinky? You was waiting?”
Dinky nods. “Uh huh, I always wait when mommy comes home.” I notice her look behind me. “Is mummy OK?”
I nod. “She was feeling tired so I carried her home.”
Dinky grins. “I knew you loved mummy!”
I free a hand and rub Dinkys mane. “I love you too and Sparkler. You're my family now.”
“Really?” Dinky asks as we walk to the front door and push it open.
“Of course Dinky, for now and always.” I reply entering the house.
I lay Derpy down in our bed and put the sheets over her. I stroke Derpys mane as she sighs. I smile and move away from the bed. I exit the room and slowly close the door until it shuts. I turn around and rub Dinkys mane as she waited outside. I walk pass Dinky and into the kitchen.
I open the fridge and take out the left overs from the day before. “Fancy?” I say lifting up the plate to Dinky. Dinky jumps up to the kitchen table and nods with a grin. I turn to the oven and try to remember how to use it. Derpy explained it used a gem designed to cast extreme heat but can be set to gradually heat things up.
Dinky giggled and came up beside me. “Let me dad!” I watch as Dinky reaches up and turns a dial to grad then sets another dial to three. “There! That's what you wanted right?”
I nod. “Thanks Dinky, Derpy told me how to work this thing but I'm still getting my head around it.”
Dinky nods. “It can't be easy not knowing much and trying to learn new things.”
I shake my head. “Sure isn't. Equestria is a strange place to learn new things but I'm glad I have the three of you to help me.”
Dinky grins. “You are my dad. I will always help you.”
I turn and give Dinky a hug she doesn't hesitate in returning. I hold her close but pull away and give her a kiss on the forehead. I stand up as Dinky returns to the table. I uncover the left overs and open the oven placing them inside. I close the door and turn to Dinky.
“Well we have a little while until the left overs get reheated. You have anything you need to do?”
Dinky looks away and rubs her hooves. “I have some homework I need to do...”
I smile. “Why don't you go grab it and we'll do it together.”
Dinky perks up. “Really!” I nod. “OK!” Dinky jumps from the table and runs out.
I sit to the table and wait. It wasn't long before Dinky gets back with her saddle bags.
“OK, I have all my books.” Dinky says placing her bags in front of her.
“Whats the homework?”
“It's maths...” Dinky says blushing.
“Hmm...you walk me through what you have to do and we'll go from there.” I say rubbing my chin.
“OK dad!”
Derpy opens her eyes and gives them a rub. “Huh?” Derpy looks around. “I must have fallen asleep...wonder were Michael is?” Derpy slides out of bed and gives a little shake.
Derpy walks out of the bedroom and instantly hears Dinky giggling. Derpy slowly creeps to the kitchen and peeks around the corner. What Derpy sees makes her smile. Dinky and Michael were reading two books which looked like maths books.
“So I have to divide this, then multiply it by this?” Dinky asks pointing to her book in confusion.
Michael nods. “That's right but don't forget to add this on the end.” Michael states pointing to his book.
Derpy found watching Michael help Dinky was making her nethers very hot and giving her foal making thoughts. Derpys tail swished back and forth trying to put out the fire in her hind quarters. Derpy decided to walk into the kitchen making both Dinky and Michael look up from their books.
“Hey mum!” Dinky says with a grin.
“Hey my perfect Pegasus.” Michael says giving Derpy a kiss when she gets close.
“You two doing homework?” Derpy asks.
“Yeah Michael is helping me do my maths.” Dinky replies smiling.
“Hows it going?”
“Ehh!” Michael replies tilting his right hand side to side. “Fifty Fifty. Learning the maths wasn't hard but the work itself seems a little difficult for Dinkys age range.” Michael sighs. “I know I have no frame of reference but this level of math is hard for me as an adult let alone a foal.”
“Maybe it's something we should bring up with Cheerilee? She might listen to you as a outside perspective.” Derpy states.
“Maybe but if it's the way she's supposed to teach it there's not much she can do to change it.” Michael replies. “Dinky and I have already ate but there's some left for you if you want it?”
“I'm not hungry but Michael, can I talk to you in the living room for second?”
Michael gave a confused look for a few seconds before nodding. “You keep up the good work Dinks you're doing great!” Michael says getting up from his seat.
Derpy blushes when Michael rubs her ear and follows her into the living room. Derpy lets Michael sit down and starts to pace. Derpys wings twitch.
“Derpy, you OK?”
Derpy stops pacing and looks to Michael. “Michael I've been doing some thinking and I'm not sure how to say this but I...I...”
Michael gets up from his seat and kneels down in front of Derpy causing her to blush and lick her lips.
“Derpy what are you trying to tell me?” Michael places a hand on Derpys shoulder. “Just take a deep breath.”
Derpy breathes in and lets out a breath before looking into Michaels eyes. “I know we haven't really discussed this fully but I know in my heart it's the right thing to ask.” Michael watches as Derpy walks to a small dresser in the corner and opens a drawer. Derpy smiles and pulls out a small object wrapped in a blue cloth. Derpy holds the object in her wing and walks back to Michael. “I was given this by my mother when I left home. She was always against me going with Willow and sometimes I think she down right hated him, but I was too young to understand and he made me feel good about myself.” Derpy frowns. “It just took him leaving me when I was pregnant to see the truth.” Derpy looks to Michael and smiles. “But I have found a stallion that will always love me no matter what.”
Michael nods. “That's the truth Derpy.”
“I know.” Derpy says unwrapping the blue cloth. “I guess this Michael is where I ask the question.”
Michaels eyes go wide when Derpy lifts up two gold bands large enough to fit around her fore leg or around his arm.
Derpys ears fold back as she swallows hard. “M-Michael, W-Would you like to become my husband?” Derpy flinches when Michael stands up. “M-Michael?” Derpy says worried.
Michael leans down and takes one of the bands before looking at his right arm and snapping it around his fore arm. “Do you really have to ask Derpy? I always wanted to marry you, I just thought it was too soon.”
Derpy almost squeals in delight as she puts the remaining band around her right fore leg. Derpy lifts the band up and smiles. “I love you Michael!”
Michael kneels down and gives Derpy a passionate kiss. “I love you too!”
I stand back up and run my fingers over the gold band. “So, what now?” I ask.
Derpy prances in place. “Now we have to make it official and register our joining at the town hall then it's just to set a date for the wedding.”
I raise an eyebrow. “We have to register our joining?”
Derpy nods. “It's an old Equestrian tradition. Most don't do it anymore but it's still available even today.”
“And you want to do it?” I ask.
“Yes, I don't want anything to ruin our future together Michael.”
I smile. “Then lets do it.”
Derpy shakes her head. “It's too late today the office in the town hall to do it is closed.”
I shrug. “Then we will do it tomorrow morning before work.” I smile and pull Derpy into a hug. “I love you my perfect pegasis...” I whisper into Derpys ear. I hear Derpy sniff.
“I love you too....” Derpy replies as she pulls away with tears in her eyes before kissing me.
“That's gross!”
Derpy and I break our kiss and look to the door and see Dinky covering her eyes with a fore leg. I put a finger to my lips and slowly make my way to Dinky. I just reach Dinky when she moves her hoof and spots me.
“No!”
Dinky turns to run but I lunge and grab her. “Whats wrong with kissing huh?” I say as I start to plant kisses over Dinkys face and neck.
Dinky pushes at my face trying to get me to stop. “No! Dad! Stop it! Ha ha ha! I can't, it tickles!” Dinkys attempts to push me away just result in her breaking down into laughter and giggles.
I stop my attack and hold Dinky in my arms as she looks up at me. “I love you Dinks.”
“I love you to daddy!” Dinky returns my hug that I give her. Dinky then notices the gold band on my arm. “What's that?”
I hold up the band. “This is me becoming your dad for real.”
Dinky beams a smile. “Really?”
I nod. “Yup, Derpy beat me to it though.” I look over my shoulder at Derpy swinging a hoof and blushing. “But I'm not complaining.” I give Dinky a kiss on the cheek before dropping her down. “I have to speak to your mother for second Dinks, might kiss her more too.”
Dinky makes a gagging sound before running out. “Gross!”
I chuckle and turn to Derpy. “Now this is official Derpy, I need to get some things off my chest.”
“Oh OK...” Derpy says jumping up onto the couch.
I sit down and sigh bringing my fingers together. “I know I don't have all my memories back and I don't know who I was back on Earth but I'm happy Derpy and that's what scares me.” I stand up and start to pace. “I don't want lose what I have with you or find out I was the worst person possible back on my old world. I have thought about this and I'm not sure what to say to you.” I kneel down in front of Derpy and take one of her forehooves in my hands. “Derpy, I don't want to remember my old life. I'm scared I won't like what I find. So I've decided to find a way to preserve my memories of you but remove the memories of my past.”
Derpy lifts up her free forehoof and touches my cheek. “I will be with you every step of the way Michael but don't you think this will be dangerous?”
I nod. “I don't know anything about something like this but I've read magic has many uses, maybe this might be something it can do.”
Derpy sighs. “I love you Michael and as your mare I don't want you putting yourself at risk.” Derpy grabs my head with both of her forehooves. “If you want to do this though I will support you as it's your memories and your choice. If you still want to then I would recommend speaking to Princess Twilight. She has a better understanding of magic than me and being the ex protege of Princess Celestia I can't think of any pony more qualified to help you.”
I put my hands on her hooves. “Thank you Derpy, you're the best mare any stallion could ask for.”
Derpy leans forward and gives me a kiss. “You better believe it!” Derpy giggles. “Now come on lets get something to eat.” Derpy lets me go and walks to the door.
I stand and step to follow with one thought on my mind. How exactly would I set up an appointment with a princess?
I walked along the main street of Ponyville with Derpy by my side. I felt wrong somehow like I shouldn't be going to Princess Twilight with my problems...Yet, she was the only one that I could speak to. I stopped and looked up as the Princess Twilight's Castle rose up before me. I felt my heart quicken.
“Are you OK Michael?” Derpy asks me.
I turn my gaze to Derpy. “Yeah I'm OK. I can't help but think we should have made an appointment first.”
Derpy giggles. “What you want to do and the fact you choose to ask Twilight about it will make it too important for her to ignore. Trust me.”
I nod. “OK, I guess. You know her better than I do.”
“I just know she lives for this stuff and this will be very interesting to her.” Derpy replies.
I go to reply when the door to the castle opens and a light purple unicorn comes out with a cutie mark that looked like a bowl with two green wisps of smoke coming out the top. The unicorn stops and gives me a look. Her eyes widen but a smile grows on her muzzle as she makes her way over.
“Hello, I don't think we've met before. My names Starlight Glimmer.”
I give the pony a bow of my head. “Nice to meet you Starlight, my names Michael.”
“Nice to meet you Michael. I don't want to sound rude but I've never seen your species before.”
“I'm new around here. I've been living with Derpy.” I say gesturing to Derpy. “She helped me as I was seriously injured when I first arrived.”
“Oh, I'm sorry to hear that.”
I wave my hand. “I would suffer again if it knew I could wake up next to Derpy every morning.” I look to Derpy and see her blushing.
Starlight smiles. “I see....” Starlight looks up. “I'm sorry to rush but I must be going perhaps we can meet again Michael?”
I nod. “I look forward to it.” Starlight grins before quickly galloping off. I turn to Derpy. “She certainly is interesting?”
Derpy nods. “I haven't spoke to Starlight often but I have heard she tried to change history by trying to stop Twilights ascension to a princess. She's Twilights student now though, so if Princess Twilight says she's OK then who am I to judge?”
I look to Derpy in shock. “She really tried to change history?” Derpy nods. “She must be some powerful unicorn to try and do that.” I turn to the castle door and sigh. “How ever Starlight isn't the reason why we are here so let's go in and see if the Princess can help.”
Derpy nods and we both walk inside after I push open the door. I stop and look around at the castle interior giving a little whistle. “Wow, this place is something...”
“I was here when the castle first appeared, it certainly was a sight to see. Still is in my eyes.” Derpy says. “I guess now we just have to find Princess Twilight.”
I go to reply when a small purple creature came out of a door leading off to the side. I raise my hand and call out. “Um, Excuse me?”
The creature looks to me. “Uh, hello. My names Spike how can I help you...uh?”
“Nice to meet you Spike, My names Michael.” I reply. “I need to find Princess Twilight but I'm not sure where to start?”
Spike gives me a smile. “You're in luck. I'm Twilights number one assistant. I have to ask though what this is about?”
Derpy steps forward. “This is really important Spike and I think Princess Twilight might be really interested.”
“OK...I'll take you to her. She's in the library.” Spike replies gesturing as he walks further into the castle.
Derpy and I follow Spike through a large corridor though his side glances didn't go unnoticed.
“Something you want to ask?” I say to Spike.
“Sorry, I'm just a little curious about you. I've seen you out delivering parcels but I didn't want to disturb you.” Spike replies.
“That's OK Spike. I like meeting new people. I don't know much about where I came from but I'm a human and I love my mare. I have serious memory loss and it's the reason I've come to see the princess.”
“Memory loss?” Spike asks.
I nod. “I can only remember bits and pieces of where I came from. I was hoping Princess Twilight might now a spell to help me or if not remove the old memories completely.”
Spike stops and turns to me. “Remove the memories? Why would you want to do that?”
I sigh. “I have a feeling Spike that my old self isn't what I think it is. I don't want to put Derpy or her children at risk. I love them too much.”
Spike nods. “I can see why you would take the risk.” Spike turns and continues down the corridor. “I think Twilight is going to love you!”
I turn to Derpy and smile as Derpy rolls her eyes and chuckles. I watch as Spike goes to a door and pushes it open. I open my mouth in awe as I spot a tree hanging from the ceiling and a massive round table in the center surrounded by six chairs. In one chair I spot a purple mare with the same body type of the princesses.
“Princess Twilight?” I ask Derpy and she nods.
Spike walks up to the princess and gets her attention before whispering to her and pointing to me. I swallow hard when the princess looks to me and her ears perk up. I start to feel nervous when a large grin appears. I step back when in a flash the princess was nearly in my face, flying.
“You must be Michael!?” The princess says with barely contained glee. “I'm Twilight Sparkle nice to meet you finally!” The princess holds out her hoof and I hesitate. “Is something wrong?” I shake my head. Princess Twilight looks to her head and then her eyes go wide. “Oh it's because I'm wearing a my crown isn't it? I really should take this off when I'm not on royal business.” The princess takes off her crown and floats it over to the table. “OK lets try this again. Hi.”
I take a deep breath and shake the princess' hoof. “Nice to meet you princess.”
Princess Twilight laughs. “Please just call me Twilight.” Twilight turns to Derpy. “Derpy how are you?” Twilight says giving Derpy a hug.
“I'm fine Twilight, Still busy I see.” Derpy says gesturing to the table with a wing.
Twilight waves a hoof. “Just some last minute things. What can I do you for today.”
I step forward. “Actually Twilight I was hoping there was something you could do for me as you seem to be the go to mare for magic in town.”
Twilight squeals and a quill and parchment appear next to her. “I can help with anything you need. If it's magic related even better!”
I take a deep breath. “I need some help with my memories. I need to remember my past but I'm afraid I'm not going to like it.” I sigh before continuing. “Which is why I asked for your help as if my past puts Derpy or any pony at risk I want those memories to go but retain the one's I have of this world.”
Twilight sits down and taps her chin before looking back up to me. “You do know what this might mean Michael if the procedure goes wrong? You could lose ALL your memories. Are you sure you want to risk that?”
“If it means Derpy and her children will be safe, I will accept any risk.” I reply.
“I'm safe with you Michael.” Derpy says. “I said I'll be there for you but if it means I'll fully lose you...I'm scared.”
Twilight walks to a side door and gestures to it. “Derpy, Michael? Would you follow me please?”
“OK.” I say as Derpy and I follow Twilight.
Luna sat in her bedchambers reading several scrolls with old spells. Ever since her memory dive with Michael Luna has found her mind thinks of nothing else. Luna lifted up a scroll containing an old spell used for memory transfer and started to think if the spell could be modified to use with Michael's Physiology.
“Hmm maybe if I change this part to this?...no...no...Gah!” Luna throws her quill across the room. “I need a break.” Luna stands up and heads for her door just before a scroll appears above her bed. “Who could that be?” Luna picks up the scroll in her magic and opens it. Luna was confused when all it read was help in very large letters. Luna looked at the stamp on the scroll. “Twilight?”
Luna walked to her mirror and scryed Twilight. Lunas eyes go wide when she sees Twilight in full panic looking through books as Miss Hooves was trying to keep Michael still on the floor. Michael looked like he was in trouble as his body shook violently.
“What in Tartarous!” Luna charges her horn and teleports.
Luna appears outside Twilights castle and quickly runs inside to hear shouting and screaming. A few ponies had entered the castle along with Spike who tried to open a door but it was locked.
“Spike? What's going on?”
Spike looks to Luna in panic. “I don't know! Twilight tried a spell on Michael and something went wrong. Twilight locked the door and I can't get in!”
Luna places a hoof on Spikes shoulder. “Spike, please calm down. I know it's hard for you that you cannot help but panicking is not the answer.”
Spike lets go of the door and steps back even though Michaels screaming continued. “Can you open the door?”
Luna looks over the door. “Hmm, I cannot open the lock but I can teleport inside. You must stay out here Spike and make sure the castle is cleared. Can you do that?”
Spike nods. “Yes princess I can.” Spike turns and starts to usher the collected ponies out. Some refuse but a quick look from Luna changed their minds.
Luna watches Spike leave and turns back to the door. “Now to see what has happened.” Luna says as she charges her horn and vanishes.
I stare at Derpy as she lay on her side. Derpy returned my stare with a heavy blush. She looked away as her wings twitched.
“Stop staring at me that way...” Derpy says.
“Why? I like what I'm staring at,” I reply. Derpy's blush gets darker. “Besides...I think we both know what's coming next.” I walk forward and bend down. I take Derpy's head in my hands and give her a kiss. I kneel on the bed and move forward lying Derpy on her back. I break the kiss and rise up on my knees. I look down at Derpy and smile at how adorable she looks. “You are so sexy, I want all of you.”
Derpy gives me a smirk and strokes her chest with a hoof. “If you want me, come and take me.” Derpy let's out a small growl which causes my heart to beat faster.
I don't know what happened to me next but I found myself virtually ripping my top off and removing my trousers in one move. I go to remove my underwear when Derpy puts a hoof on my hand stopping me.
“Can I remove them?”
I tilt my head. “Derpy, you know what I have under them. We have done oral.”

I awoke again as I felt something missing and looked over to find Derpy was gone. I stretched my arms and yawned when I heard something outside the door to the bedroom. I heard Derpy scream. I leapt out the bed and ran to the door grasping the handle. I don't get any further as the door smashes inwards knocking me to the ground. I look up to see three humans dressed in grey outfits shouting at me in some language I didn't understand. I spot Derpy fighting with a fourth human. I smile when she headbutts the human and runs to me.
Derpy reaches for me but is cut off when one of the humans impales her with a weapon of some kind. Derpy coughs up blood and I watch as the life leaves her eyes. I throw out a hand screaming.
“No!” I scream sitting up with my arm out. I feel the sweat pouring off my face and coating my body. I flinch when I feel a hoof touch my arm and push it to the bed.
“The explosions again?” Derpy asks me concerned.
I shake my head. “No. This time I saw more of my kind attacking the house. T-They killed you.”
Derpy looks away. “Oh..” Derpy looks back and wraps her forelegs around my body. “I'm here for you Michael. I'm not going anywhere.”
I return Derpy's embrace. “I know but I just wish I knew what these dreams meant. I hate this. I hate not knowing my past and not knowing who I truly am.” I look into Derpy's eyes. “What if I'm not a good person or I'm somebody who could hurt you. I...I couldn't hurt you...” I start to cry as Derpy pulls me in and places my head on her shoulder.
Derpy coos in my ear and rubs my back as I let out my emotions. I pull away giving her a kiss.
“I'm sorry.” I say pulling Derpy in for hug.
“What for?” Derpy Questions nuzzling my chest.
“For crying.” I hear Derpy chuckle. “What's funny?”
“You. I like it when a stallion isn't afraid to show emotion. Everypony has feelings. I just don't see why some have to keep it bottled up.” Derpy replies.
I sigh and lower my head so it was resting on top of Derpy's. “I love you so much.”
I feel Derpy give me a little squeeze. “I love you too.”
I look up and notice it was just gone midnight. “I don't feel like sleeping right now but it's so late.”
Derpy let's me go and slides out the bed. “Come on let's get something to drink. There might be some left overs aswell.”
I nod. “Sounds good.”
I removed the covers from the bed and swung my feet over the edge. I stood from the bed and gathered my clothes from the floor. I put on my pants and top before chucking my underwear into the hamper next to the door. I opened the door and let Derpy walk out. A few minutes later we entered the kitchen and I sat at the table as Derpy placed the kettle on the stove and turned it on. I watched as the heating gem glowed in the soft light of the kitchens lamp.
“Michael, are you going to be OK?” Derpy asks me turning around.
I sighed. “To be honest Derpy, I don't know. Until I find out what these dreams are I can't say.” I give Derpy a smile. “Though I'm glad your here to help me through it.”
Derpy walks over and gives me a kiss which I happily receive. “I will always be here to help.” Derpy says breaking the kiss.
I lean back in my chair as Derpy goes back to the stove and takes the kettle off. Derpy then bends down to grab two cups out of the bottom cabinet. I watch Derpy with interest as she does these simple movements and I couldn't help but notice the dexterity she completes them with. I loved this mare and everything about her that even simple moves of her wings and body drew my attention.
Derpy turns around with two cups balancing on a tray in her mouth. Derpy drops the tray on the table and I take the cup nearest to me. Derpy sits across from me taking her own cup in her fore hooves. Several minutes pass as we don't say anything but I could see Derpy had something to ask.
“You look like you have something to ask?”
Derpy nods. “It's about your dream.”
“What do you want to know?”
Derpy fiddles with her cup before looking straight at me. “Did you see Princess Luna in the dream?”
I shake my head. “No, why? Should I have?” I question raising an eyebrow.
Derpy nods. “If anypony in the dream world suffers terrible nightmares she helps calm them and gives them good dreams. I just don't understand why she isn't helping you.”
I purse my lips. “Maybe she can't enter my head yet, that's why she has to meditate. I'm not from Equestria so perhaps my head is different in some way.”
Derpy nods. “That could be a possibility. Your mind could have some sort of resistance to mind magic.”
“Mind magic?” I query.
“It's what unicorns call the magic Princess Luna uses. Her ability to enter dream is all mental based. Hence mind magic.” Derpy replies with a grin.
I chuckle. “You nerd.”
Derpy huffs and turns her head away. “Am not!”
“Adorable though.” I grin when Derpy blushes. “I guess I got two days though to wait. In the mean time I'm famished. The pony pie from earlier did nothing to quell my appetite.”
Derpy grins as she stands. “Maybe next time a larger portion is needed. I however come prepared.” Derpy walks over to the fridge and opens it pulling out a large pie in her mouth and dropping it on the table. “This is the pie every stallion dreams of.”
I shake my head. “Not me, my pie is located between two grey cheeks of plumpness.”
Derpy narrows her eyes. “Plumpness isn't word.”
“It is when I get my hands on your butt.” I say standing up slowly.
Derpy backs away from the table. “It's too early you'll wake Dinky and Sparkler.”
“Then I guess I'll have to eat my pie quietly.” I state pouncing on Derpy and proceeding to 'eat' my pie.
