1View OnlineDaring Do and The Jeweled Opal1 You are Daring Do, explorer, adventurer, and avid dungeon diver. You scour the globe in search of ancient and long forgotten treasures locked deep within ruined tombs, overgrown temples, and crumbling ruins of long forgotten civilization. Whether its for personal gain or the pursuit of knowledge, you dive head first into danger, ready to tackle any challenge with your skill, wit, and not to mention your trusty whip! Our story begins with you returning from your most recent adventure. For months you had followed clues that lead to a hidden treasure known as the Eye of Luna. It turned out to be one big hoax, unfortunately, leaving you empty handed with hardly any proof that the Eye even existed. Disappointed, you return to your quaint shack in the mountains. A hidden away sanctuary where you relax and regather yourself at the end of your long excursions. It's up here in the chilly alpine heights that you enjoy your solitude, undisturbed and alone. At least...that's what the plan was. You enter your dimly lit cottage and immediately shed the heavy saddle bags that dug into your back. The immense weight drops to the ground with a noisy thud as bits of metal, survival gear and climbing equipment loudly clang together against the dirty wood floor. "Ms. Daring Do, how nice to make your acquaintance," a voice call out from the shadows. Your ears immediately pin point your surprise guest's position around the left corner of the room, right around where you have your favorite lounge chair. >Casually answer back to the mysterious stranger. >Walk across the room and turn on the light before answering your visitor. >Attempt to threaten the unwelcomed intruder and demand that they tell you why they're in your home. >Sling your whip across the room and attempt to incapacitate the intruder.

Whoever this pony is, they can introduce themselves in a properly lit room. Once on, the lamp illuminates the room with its dim, amber glow. You look back to the visitor and see a dark green earth pony dressed in a pressed three piece suit sitting in your favorite reading chair. A bushy gray beard hangs off his chin as a pair of thick lensed glasses balance themselves on the notch of his snout. His eyes have a subtle wisdom behind their lavender color, a mark of a studious and world wary pony. He squints at the sudden light, but quickly recomposes himself as he stands. "Yes quite. Firstly I would like to apologize for the intrusion. You're reputation proceeds you," he begins, walking across the short distance between you and him. "I know you're not one for visitors and I wasn't sure if you would simply ignore my offer without giving it thought." He stands before you and politely extends a hoof, "my name is Professor Bookmark." >Shake the Professor's hoof and politely introduce yourself as well. >Ignore the extended hoof and demand that he tells you why he's here.

You then snap it across the room with a swift twist of your hoof, cracking its end against the intruder with pinpoint accuracy. In the dimly lit part of the room, you hear a sharp, pained yelp as the whip clearly makes contact with the unwelcomed guest. "Ah! Now that was quite uncalled for!" the stranger growls. You tug your whip back and roll it up for another swing, but before you can throw it back at the intruder, he quickly interjects. "Now wait a minute! Wait a minute!" he loudly calls out, verbally wincing in pain. "I've come to make you an offer," he quickly adds, "I believe it would be right up your alley!" >Put away your whip and listen to the vistor's proposal. >Swing your whip again and attempt to threaten the intruder. >Make a mad dash into the room and attempt to capture the stranger.
10View OnlineDaring Do and The Jeweled Opal10The Professor smiles as he happily shakes your hoof. He seems relieved about it, perhaps worried that you'd be harsh with his intrusion. "Charmed!" he smiles, "now then. I represent the Canterlot Board of Museums and History and they wish to make use of your services. There is a rare jewel they wish to add to their collection and it's imperative that this valuable artifact is gathered before it falls into the wrong hands. I am speaking, of course, of the Jeweled Opal." You recognize the name immediately. The Jeweled Opal has been a thing of myth and legend from the research you've done. From the fragments of information you were able to gather, this priceless jewel was said to bring entire civilizations to its knees with its beauty and was worth more than ten kings' ransoms. For decades ancient wars were fought over the very idea of the Jewel existing, but nowadays such a thing was obscure and unknown. The lucky few who even heard of the Jeweled Opal firmly believe the thing never even existed. For neighsayers, such a valuable jewel was merely a story twisted by war tyrants to justify epic crusades across continents, concurring entire civilizations in one fell swoop. "A jewel with such mystery, obscurity, and legend behind it belongs in a museum and my clients wish to hire you to ensure the Jewel's safe retrieval," The Professor continues, "I'm sure a knowledge seeker such as yourself can appreciate such a noble quest." >Ask The Professor about how well the job pays. >Throw caution to the wind and gladly accept Professor Bookmark's offer. >Refuse the offer and politely ask The Professor to leave.

15View OnlineDaring Do and The Jeweled Opal15Without giving the stranger a chance to say another word you grab hold of him and pull him out of your house. There's a momentary struggle, but you're clearly more physically fit than the bookworm and manage to overpower him quite easily. In a matter of minutes he's out the door, practically stumbling over his own feet as he falls to the grassy ground. You slam the door behind you and lock it. And the moment he's out of your sight, he's out of your life. No matter what proposition he might have had or adventure he may have led you to, you decided to throw him out. Serves him right for breaking into your house unannounced. The Hermit Ending You built this mountain cottage to be alone and after weeks of adventuring you're in no mood to have that quiet time interrupted. Adventure can wait. You need a break.

This goes on for another ten minutes as you endlessly threaten the intruder in the most hostile way possible. However you quickly realize that the intruder hasn't reacted at all. He hasn't shouted back or tried to pick a fight. After blowing off a fair bit of steam, you take a deep breath and pause. >Charge in and attempt to tackle the intruder. >Put your whip away and demand an explanation.

With bull like and brutish strength, you shove him straight to the ground, slamming him into the floorboards. The impact knocks the wind out of the stranger's lungs, nearly knocking him unconscious by the looks of things. You quickly hop back to your feet, ready to beat the stranger senseless without giving him a second to fight back. Only, just as you climb back up, you notice in the dim light that the stranger isn't getting up as quickly as you. In fact he remains groaning on the ground, struggling to even move. >Show him the door in the rudest way possible.
