Chapters Friendship is Awesome pt.1
You've heard of the story of Princess Celestia's encounter with Nightmare Moon but you've never heard the Horses' story. Equestria was divided in two. One half you know of , is Ruled by the Royal sisters, Princess Celestia and Princess Luna. The other half, however, was where horses lived. Ruled by Princess Sophia and Prince Charlie, they shared the same duties as Princess Celestia and Princess Luna. Princess Sophia was in charge of raising the sun and Prince Charlie was Prince of the Moon. Taking a look into the dreams of the horses, he saw that their nightmares were placed around nighttime. One morning, he decided to keep the moon up a little longer to help conquer the horse's fears. Princess Sophia decided to let it slide but Charlie never kept that promise. Sophia tried her best to reason with him but his greediness turned him into a wicked enchanter of the night, Stallion of the Stars. With help from Celestia, the two mares used the most powerful magic stronger than thiers. The Elements of Harmony. Using the magic, they were able to banish Stallion of the Stars into the sky. Since then, Princess Sophia took on both for day and night and harmony was maintained for generations since.
"I didn't know that the legend was true and why Sophia hasn't told me yet." Shorty was sitting at "Le Jazz Hot" cafe, reading one of the dusty books hidden in the royal library in Los Pegasus. Wanting to know more, he galloped out of the cafe onto the cemented and asphalt grounds of Los Pegasus, home of his mentor Princess Sophia. Shorty was a dark bay stallion with a blaze covering his face. He's a bit smaller than the other stallions with a muscle mass of one hundred pounds.
In the library was his assitant Kayden, a brown brindle Pitbull puppy. As Shorty rushed into the book cases, Kayden stepped in front of him. Shorty slid as if he were a reiner and pushed the carpet up high.
"Move out of the way Kayden." The puppy remained at the same place with a peice of paper in his paws.
"Not before a weekliy report! What is the color of a zebra's skin?" Shorty rolled his eyes at the easy question.
" Black skin with white stripes."
"Correct! What breed of horse has Equine Cushing's Syndrome?"
"Bashkir Curly Horse."
"Yep. Now what year did racehorse, Shergar, die?" Shorty lit up and HA!'d.
"Trick question! Shergar dissappeared in 1983!" Kayden leaped to the podeum and checked off a list of To Do's.
"Great! Three out of three, that's a pefect weekly report!" Shorty walked away from the dog to the history section of the library. Kayden climbed up the ladder, ready to find the book Shorty needed until his eyes glowed green. Out came sprks until a letter emerged from them.
"It's a letter from Princess Sophia!
My Dearest Student[ Sisque Shuttle,/i] Shorty, I must inform you that i will be staying with Pony Ruler, Princess Celestia of Equestria, on Royal business and would like you to move closer to us to continue your studies. I have made arrangements for you to stay in the local library in Ponyville.**

Wow Shorty! We get to move to Ponyville!" Shorty looked at Kayden with hard eye an flat ears, and his blaze tinted red.
"Are you KIDDING! I heard Ponyville is an old run down village with old fashioned horses and ponies, and worst of all... It's full Of PONIES! A bunch of way too clueless and laughing ponies!" Kayden fanned away the steam from the stallions head and decided to put away some books. Boy, were they heavy.
"Lighten up Shorts, you and I both know that's a stereotype." Shorty came face to face with Kayden with a crazy look in his eye, letting the poor puppy fall and drop the books.
"Or is it? But I have to go anyways since the Princess made arrangements. A Little odd for such short notice, right?" Kayden scowled at the horse and picked up the fallen books.
"Just wait Shorty, you'll see how nice it'll be." Shorty rolled his eyes and sighed.

Peanut
Shorty and Kyden were n their way to Ponyville in one of Princess Sophia's carriages. Pulling them were pegasus royal gaurds. Unlike Celestia's grey and white guards, Sophia's gaurds were a color of the rainbow. Red is for the most relibale gaurds while purple were for trainees. These two were yellow and were looking for a spot to land in the village. Shorty hang his head out of the carriage, looking at what he thought was lost hope.
"Chin up Shorty, this town may not be that bad." Kayden tried to look at Shorty's face but the stallion turned.
"Well, i'm still against it." Kayden nodded his head then toppled over Shorty. The carriage was landing into the town square of Ponyville. The two exited and said their thank you's to the guards. Kayden looked around and found what he was looking for.
"Look! There's a pony right there!" a black and white mare skipped to the stallion. Her eyes were a pretty blue and was as tall as Shorty's chest. The markings on her back slid down under her girth and her mane ad tail were high and wavy. Kayden pushed him closer to her, where she looked at him straight in the eye.
"Just say hi." Shorty gulped.
"Hello?" The mare screamed then zoomed past them in a black and white flash.
"I sure didn't expect that." Shorty walked off to who knows where.Kayden signed and slumped his shoulders.
The two walked down Ponyville's cobblestone street, getting a good look at the town's fountain.
"Before we go to the library, can we get a look around town?" Shorty rolled his eyes as if it was a stupid question.
"Kayden please. I need to do some studying on Equestria." When he turned around, he was greeted by big brown eyes, little puppy dog eyes. "Oh, all right!"
"Good!" Kayden whipped out a map of Ponyville with X's and O's on it. " 'Cause I got a map of the village and I really want to see some of the sights!The closest thing right now is Salty Nut Pastures."
Shorty and Kayden walked down the orchard filled with different types of nuts. Los Pegasus is an ugly wasteland compared to the fields of orchards.
"I gotta say Kayden,this is quite a sight."
"It says that Salty Nut started as a competition against Sweet Apple Acres to see who can sell more produce but they made a draw and became close friends."
"YIP!YIP!YIP!" The two looked over the bush and saw a chestnut stallion racing through the trees. He kicked the trees with his hind les then tipped his hat. Suddenly, with a shake of the bushes, something attacked Shorty. Kayden started to bark at the thing, then he stopped. An austrailian shepard tackled Shorty, and was licking him to death.
"Cooper! Get off that Stallion!" The dog obeyed then ran into the barn. The country stallion helped Shorty up. "I'm so sorry t'ere sir." The stallion harshly gripped Shorty's hoof and shook it like a rattle. " Name's Peanut, a pleas're making your 'quaintence...uh.."
"My name is Sisque Shuttle." Shorty did his best to speak his name clear.
"Sisque Shuttle, quite the name. Got anythang shorter?"
"Shorty." Kayden couldn't help but giggle at Shorty's face, terror. Peanut finally let go of his hoof. It felt like the world stopped as his hoof throbbed.
"My name is Shorty, and I am new to this town. This is Kayden and he really wanted to see your farm. Now I see you're doing something important so we'll be on our way!"
Trying to escape, Peanut stood in front of the jumpy horse.
"Not before meeting the family!" Peanut's stripe really brought out the happiness in his green eyes, so Shorty gave in.
"I guess we could as long as it doesn't take too long." Before Shorty could finish his sentence, Peanut kicked dust and rang a dusty, old bell that rang through the orchard.
"SOUP'S ON EVERYPONY!" Shorty and Kayden ducked for cover as a bunch of horses pushed their way to the long picnic table in front of the barn. Without notice, Shorty and Kayden we pulled and set onto chairs that were the centers of the table. "Now, why don't I introduce you to the Nut Family." Peanut gestured to all that colorful family members he had.
"Thanks but we should really be going." One family member set a plate of cupcakes topped with walnuts.
"This here is Beechfavus." After him, more family members set plates of goods. "Cashews,Breadnut,Brazil Nut,Walnut,Almond,Coconut,Pistachio,Chilean Nut." Peanut took a big breath and introduce the family he lived with. He pointed to a big, draft-like stallion with a yellow coat and red mane.Freckles dominated his face. "Chestnut." Then pointed to a liver colored filly with a yellow braided mane and tail holding another nutty pastry. "Paradise Nut and..." He ponited to a little mare that was just skin and bones. Her mane was silver in two buns like her tail. Glasses were place on her gentle nose. "Granny Hazelnut.
Wake up Granny, we got guests." The old mare woke up and made her way to the table as slow as a snail. She was saying something but no one understood her. " I'say they're already part'f the family." Shorty's pupils shrank and had an uncertain look on his face.
"Well, I guess we really should be going." Reluctant to leave, he was greeted with more pleading eyes.
"Can't you at least stay for pie?" For added measures, Paradise Nut stuck out her lip. Shorty looked at her, then the sad family faces, then Chestnut and Peanut holding Granny Hazelnut.
"Fine."

Beauty
"This Place is full of , Beauty." They finally made it to Carousel boutique. The clothes weren't in a clutter like other stores. Clothes were on single racks and the floor switched from a baby pink,floral pattern to a baby blue swirl. The walls were magenta with light pink accents, and the roof was draped in pinks of many hues.
" I got to admit Kayden, this place is filled with such magesty, beautiful indeed." Kayden shook his body.
"Not the shop, her!"
Towards the back, a unicorn mare was trotting up to the two. Her fur was jet black and so was her mane with brown hints in it. Her eyes were a bright blue, carressed by long eye lashes. Kayden couldn't help but drool.
" Welcome to Carousel Boutique, and as what my aunt would say "Where everything Chic, unique, and manific." Good sir, you look like you've had a bad day." Shorty's day was noticeable. His eyes started to twitch, his stomach made him walk like a zombie, and some nutcake got on his hooves. What a mess. "Let me treat you to a spa!"
"Well, you see, stallions don't do the whole spa thing." Beauty just pranced even closer to the two. She started to push Shorty towards the back of the shop, but he was a bit heavier than she thought.
"They also don't like to cry, which is what a mare is always looking for." Kayden stopped his drooling.
" I cry! I cry about flowers, sunsets, and I would sneak out of the castle yards to see Oprah downtown." Kayden just realized what he said. Shorty scowled at him.
"Did you say castle?" As in Princess Celestia's Castle? Tell me more." Beauty used her magic to levitate Shorty and trotted towards the back.
"Hey, what are you doing? Help!" The puppy just floated on air behind his loveable mare.
Shorty has been through a blueberry scrub, a chocolate face mask, and a keratin treatment. Beauty chose to accessorize him but couldn't make a decision. So far, Shorty wore a gold breastplate , embroidered with rubies.
"No,no,no." Shorty was standing on the cat walk. He smelled like blueberries and his mane gleamed. Kayden was enjoying himself by laughing at Shorty's misery and watching Beauty.
"Actually ,um..." Kayden got stuck on Beauty again before finishing his sentence.
"Beauty, daughter of Sweetie Bell, niece of the element of Generosity."
"I know, I mean, we are from the horse realm, Princess Sophia's Castle." Beauty squealed in delight.
"Even Better! I do so enjoy Canterlot on the Princess' behalf but Princess Sophia lives in L.P! I love how it's glamorous and sophisticated, yet known as the "Funky Town." I'd love to hear all about it! We'll become the best of friends!" Beauty hugged him, then looked at what he was wearing.
"Ruby! What was I thinking? You look like the Stallion of Diamonds!" Shorty was reminded that he needed to look up the Stallion of the Stars. Beauty ran into a different room, probably looking for some diamonds, so Shorty took the time to escape.
"Quick Kay! Before I like the color pink and getting hooficures!" The dog wasn't cooperating, so he was levitated onto Shorty's back. The scared colt ditched the plate and bursted through the boutique doors.

Bugshot
Shorty stopped galloping for his life in Ponyville's quiet park. Kayden remained on the horse's back, thinking about the beautiful mare they encountered."Wasn't she beautiful?" Kayden scratched himself then hopped off of Shorty's back.
" Focus Romeo. Where else do you want to go?"
"Actually, I wanna go home." Shorty sighed in relief then heard a beautiful sound. It seemed to be coming from behind the bushes. The curious horse peek over the nearby bushes and saw the unexpected. A pegasus, a short, orange pegasus stallion was conducting a choir of forest animals.Unlike the usual soft, quiet music, this sounded like an advanced band with cool rhythms and kicking bass. They were playing a marching tune. Shorty and Kayden swayed in rhythm with the music until they were interupted. Someone was way off key. The pegasus stopped the band of forest creatures.
"Please,please, stop, thank you." His voice was soothing enough to put you to sleep. His flying style was like an angel or a beautiful butterfly. He flew to the tree where the songbirds were and talked to the woodpecker. "Excuse me Mr. Woodpecker, but, you're a little off beat." the bird nodded in response and the stallion started up the band again. "Now, follow me please. 1,2,1234."
"HELLO!" The pegasus gasped and hid under his long mane. The animals scattered in fear, Shorty snuck up from behind them. "I am so sorry, I didn't mean to scare off your critters! Which way is Colt Avenue?" The pegasus remained under his mane, looking ashamed as if he'd done something wrond like a foal would. Shorty put on his best awkward smile, very awkward. "I'm Sisque Shuttle, Shorty for short. What's your name?"
"I'm, I'm Bugshot."
"Sorry, I didn't hear that."
"My, my name is Bugshot."
"Didn't catch that, something about shooting bugs?" the frightened stallion just squeaked in response and backed away from Shorty. behind him, his animals got back into their original positions.
"Okay, it looks like your animals are back and I'll go ask someone else." the pegasus squeaked in response once more.
"Okay..." Shorty backed away and hopped over the bushes. Bugshot looked through his mane to see Shorty talking to Kayden. "Well, that was weird. Told you ponies are wierd." Bugshot squealed in delight, scaring away the animals.
"A PUPPY!" Bugshot bumped into Shorty, letting him fly and faceplant the grass. " I've never seen a pitbull puppy before. He's so cute!"
"Well." Kayden folded his arms and looked at Shorty.
"Oh my, he can talk! I didn't know dogs can talk. That's just so wonderful, that I don't know what to say!" Kayden was unaware that Shorty levitated him onto his back and walked away from the bi polar pony.
"Well,in that case, which way is Colt Avenue?" Bugshot completely ignored Shorty and continued his conversation with Kayden.
"What's your name?"
"I'm Kayden, Some ponies call me Kay."
"Hi Kayden, I'm Bugshot." Shorty relaxed when he finally learned the crazy pony's name. "Wow, a talking puppy! What kind of stuff do puppies talk about?"
"What do you wanna know?"
"Absolutley EVERYTHING!" Shorty sighed in defeat for he had heard this story numerous times, and it's a long one.
"Well, it all started with me being born."
It was sunset, and Shorty's day felt like one to take back. Bugshot was listening to Kayden's life story while giving directions to Colt Avenue.
"That's the story of my whole life, well, up until today. Do you wanna hear about today?" Bugshot smiled in delight.
"Oh, yes please." Shorty's pupils downsized and the blood in his eyes were visible. He wanted no more stories today. They reached the local library, this one was also a meuseum because it once belonged to Twilight Sparkle, so he turned around to face Bugshot.
"Well, thank you Bugshot for showing us the way. This is were i'll be staying and my poor puppy needs his rest."
"No I don't." Before he finished his sentence, Shorty dip his hindquarters to make Kayden fall off of him.
"Look at him, he'sso sleepy that he cant keep his wittle balwence." Shorty smiled as he looked at Kayden's pouty face. Bugshot quickly picked him up and entered the building.
"You poor thing, you simply must get into bed." Shorty acted fast and kicked Bugshot out of the library.
"Yes, we'll get to that! Goodnight!" Bugshot sat on the porch as Shorty slammed the door in his face.
The library was dark but the two found their way.
"Rude."
"See, what'd I tell you? Ponies are really annoying! Now we can get some rest and I can research S.S. So where's the light?" Shorty turned on the lights but regretted it.
"SUPRISE!"

Twilight
The library was covered in a rainbow of streamers. Confetti and glitter covered the floor as balloons covered the entire roof. Probably the whole town of party ponies emerged from their hiding spots. Among them was the little mare Shorty encountered before.
"Suprise! Hi, i'm Twilight and I threw this party for You! The newest member of Ponyville! Really suprised ya right? HUH, Huh, Huh!?"
"Very," Shorty looked around the now ruined library , the chance of a good night's sleep. "Weird to plan a party in a Library.
"Well duh!" Twilight appeared from behind him. "Parties can be anywhere, I mean think about a library without a party, I mean c'mon. BORRING!" Shorty sighed and eyed a table with snacks. "You see, I saw you walking into town and I know every and I mean every horse and pony in Ponyville." The stallion started to pour Kool-aide into a cup.Twilight kept running her mouth and popping out of the wierdest places. "So that meant you're new and probably don't have any friends and you'll be all lonely and that made me so sad. That was until I went HUUUH! I just had a super awesome idea of throwing you a party. See?" All the equines Shorty met stood next to her. Peanut, Reno,Beauty, and Bugshot were all there. "Now you have lots and lots of friends!"
Shorty took a sip of Kool-aide, but soon spit it out. His face turned red and his blaze turned orange. Peanut went to make sure he was okay.
"You okay Shorts?" Soon, he was all red and his mane turned to flame. Poofed himself onto the stairs and into his room. Twilight was very unaware of the situation.
"Aww, he's so happy, he's crying! You don't see many of those." Kayden looked at the label of the "Kool-aide".
" Hot Chili Pepper." Twilight mm'd and poured it onto a glazed donut nearby. The filly soon ate it, the rest were waiting for her to explode.
"What? It's good!"
Upstairs, Shorty was trying to block out the music downstairs. He lay in his bed with a pillow over his head, waiting for his party to be over. Kayden bursted through the door, covered in silly string.
"Hey Shorty! Twilight's turning on Party Rock, wanna come out?" Kayden dodged the pillow Shorty flicked at him.
"NO! Like I said. The ponies in this town are CRAZY!And so are the horses."
"And like I said. Lighten up, it's a party!" Kayden closed the door, but Shorty repeated his words sarcastically like a young foal would to his parents. He lay back and called himself down.
"Shorty, just stay focused. I came here to remain as a student for Princess Sophia. I also came to do some research on Equestria's history," Soon, he got off topic. " but NOOO! I spent my day with crazy horses and ponies because Sophia decides for me to come here! I still can't tell why she sent the letter on short notice?"
Kayne bursted through the doors once more.
"Shorty, there's a big problem, so Princess Sophia is in Town Hall!

Reno
Kayden and Shorty made it back to Ponyville, away from Peanut and his relatives.
"Wasn't that fun Shorty!" Kayden had the best time eating all he wanted. He prefers gemstones like a dragon but still had that dog in him that devours everything. Shorty groaned.
"I didn't know that there's so many nut that you can put in pie." He walked sluggishly an looked at the giant lump in his stomach.
"I'd also like to visit Carousel Boutique. It was once owned by the element of Generosity, Rarity, but then was passed down to her niece. Rarity's little sister, Sweetie Bell."
"What would be sweet is the sky. I heard it was supposed to be clear today." It wasn't. Clouds roamed the sky like cattle in a fresh pasture. Shorty heard someone yelling then was bodyslammed.
Shorty was on the ground with dizzy eyes, on top of him was a younger pegasus colt, maybe a yearling, with unusual black tobiano markings. The whites slashed his shoulder and the markings from his hindquarters ran down his legs.
"Sorry,didn't see you there." He didn't sound sorry but quickly helped Shorty up. "I'm Reno, the baddest flyer in Cloudsdale."
"I bet, now can you help us? Why is the sky cloudy? I heard it was supposed to be clear." Reno blew from his mouth then flew on top of a close cloud. His wings were, unusual. When opened, rings of white and black seemed to put you in a trance.
"Yeah, I'll get it done but i'm far too busy practicing.
"Practicing for what? Falling." Kayden fell on his back with laughter. Shorty usually wasn't funny but his sarcasim was gold.
"Hahaha.... No. For the Wonderbolts." Reno pointed to a nearby poster of the costumed ponies. "It's my dream to become the first horse to join their group, but these cloud chores are getting in my way."
"They're probably not letting you in because of the lousy job you're doing." Reno raised his hoof.
"HEY! I can clear the clouds like THAT!"
"Prove it."
Reno took on his challenge and then zipped through the clouds in a black and white haze. His hindquarters bumped the clouds and his wings sliced through them. He gently floated to the ground, enhancing his awesomeness. His chest puffed out and his head held high.
"What'd I tell you? Just.Like. THAT!" Shorty's mouth was wide open in awe, staring at the now cleared sky.
"You should see the look on your face. I gotta go, maybe we can hang out again!" In a flash, Reno was gone.
"Whoa, he's amazing!" Kayden followed Reno into the sky with his eyes until he dissappeared but Shorty already left him.
"Let's just go find this Boutique."
