Chapters Chapter 1: The Family Heirloom
“Hey Adamant Blade, can you get the box that says ‘old toys’ out of the attic?” An elderly woman asked her grandson who was practicing some Naname Suburi swings with his Shinai.
“Sure thing grandma” Adamant replied before taking off his Bogu.
Underneath his Bogu was teal-colored sixteen year-old boy with shoulder-length coffee-colored hair that was tied up in a ponytail and violet eyes.
“Thank you, you can bring the box down to the living room” Adamant’s grandma explained before heading to the kitchen to make some tea.
Meanwhile Adamant Blade had just placed his Shinai next to the sliding glass door which led to the backyard before heading to the hall where the entrance to the attic was and opening it.
“Now then, where is that box? ” Adamant Blade thought after climbing into the attic and searching for the box.
As he was searching for the box that his grandmother requested he saw a shine of light appear from out of the corner of his eye and went to investigate it, only to find a European Longsword that was hanging on a pillar.
The sword was in a scabbard that had a maple wood body, a gold locket and chape; from what Adamant Blade could tell, the sword looked to have a golden guard with two ruby-red parts on each side with an octagon-shaped emerald in the middle, the handle was wrapped in tawny-colored leather, the pummel gold colored as well but with the word phoenix carved into it along with a gold chain coming from one side of the pommel with an orange-crimson colored feather at the end.
“Whoa, I didn’t know grandma and grandpa had this in their attic... ” Adamant Blade thought as he reached for the sword without a hint of hesitation and grabbed it off of its mount.
Adamant then began to unsheathe the sword from its scabbard, revealing a blade that was thirty-six inches long and looked to be made of silver, except for the first six inches of the blade which where flame-orange that ended in a v-shape.
“This...this sword is beautiful...and its so light as well! ” Adamant continued as he examined the sword when a flame-orange magic circle started growing from Adamant’s feat before stooping about a yard out from where he was standing and lighting up before disappearing.
As the magic circle disappeared a mark in the shape of a crimson-red to flame-orange bird started forming on the back of Adamant’s right hand.
“What the?!” Adamant exclaimed before sheathing the sword and heading downstairs without the box but instead with the sword in his hands.
“Adamant what's wrong?” His grandmother asked after her grandson entered the living room with a concerned look on his face.
“Okay, so I found this sword mounted on one of the pillars in the attic, so I grabbed it and took a look which I know I shouldn’t have done without your permission sorry, but anyway I drew the sword from it’s scabbard which I think caused a magic circle to form as well as this to appear on my hand!” Adamant explained as he showed his grandmother the bird-shaped mark on the back of his hand.
“I see you found it” An elderly man exclaimed from the doorway before heading to one of the recliners.
“Wait...grandpa, what do you mean I see you found it?” Adamant asked as his grandfather sat down in one of the recliners.
“Well you see, that sword you’re holding is actually a family heirloom that we were gonna give to you on your eighteenth birthday, but since you found it already and that it has already chosen you as it’s owner I might as well tell you the tale of this sword; but first take a seat” Adamant’s grandfather explained before motioning to the couch. “You see it all started with your ancestor, Coal Sparks, a magic-less man who made his living being a blacksmith however, despite his lack of magic he managed to make weapons that were on the same level as Soul-weapons.”
“Really? That’s amazing!” Adamant exclaimed as his grandfather took a sip from a cup of tea.
“Yea well one day he found an ill phoenix which we all know can regenerate itself, however this one didn’t seem to be doing so good so Coal brought the bird to a medic who explained that it had been poisoned and would need to be kept in a hot place for a couple of weeks to heal it, so Coal Sparks did just that, he put the phoenix in his forge which of coarse meant that his production of items would slow down greatly” Adamant’s grandfather explained before taking another sip of his tea and continuing. “Several weeks passed before the phoenix was back to full health and was released into the wild around Coal’s house”
“Sorry but um...how does this relate to this sword?” Adamant asked.
“Don’t worry it will soon, so anyway each week the phoenix would come by to visit Coal until a couple of months later when the phoenix noticed Coal had gotten into a mental block and was failing to create a decent item so the phoenix decided to help by infusing it’s soul into a still red piece of metal that was on the anvil, turning to ash, leaving a sole feather on it’s remains and ultimately sacrificing itself for the very man who brought it back to health months before” Adamant’s grandfather explained before finishing his tea and continuing on with the story. “Coal up seeing the creature he had saved sacrifice itself broke into tears but didn’t he didn’t let it's sacrifice go in vein so he took the piece of metal with the phoenix’s ashes still on it and worked it until it became the very Soul-weapon that you are now bound to!”
“But I thought phoenixes were immortal?” Adamant replied in confusion.
“Technically yes, however it’s a little known fact that they can choose whether or not they want to die” His grandfather explained to him. “So you see that sword is Coal’s best and last creation he ever made”
“Wow...I had no idea something like this was in our family...” Adamant replied as he looked down at the sword. “But um...why was this sword doing in the attic?”
“I didn’t want anyone to steal it” Adamant’s grandfather deadpanned. “But since it has now chosen you as it’s new master, it is now bound to you!”
“Okay...but um this may sound weird but what should I expect now that a Soul-weapon is bound to me?” Adamant asked his grandfather.
“Well that’s something for you to discover but first, didn’t you have a box to bring down to your grandmother?” Adamant’s grandfather questioned.
“Oh right, sorry grandma!” Adamant exclaimed before jumping up and rushing back to the attic to search for the box his grandmother requested.
“Heh is there really a box up there called ‘old toys’ or did you just want him to find that sword?” Adamant’s grandfather asked his wife.
“Both!” She replied before giggling.
“Great, now I have more stuff to bring on my club days, but still I'm glad to be working with you! ” Adamant thought before sighing and decided to make a detour to his bedroom to drop off his soul-weapon so when he finds the requested box it’ll be easier for him to carry it down the attic ladder.
After retrieving the box labeled ‘old toys’ Adamant went to his room to not only grab a some fresh clothes for him to change into after his bath but to also find a suitable place for his new sword.
“Now then, I think I’ll name you...Crimson Feather” Adamant Exclaimed as he set the weapon by his desk.
Chapter 2: His First 2 Abilities
“Come on Adamant! If you aren’t out here soon then I’m going to ditch you in ten seconds flat!” Rainbow Dash shouted as she pressed on Adamant’s doorbell.
“I’m awake RD” Adamant Blade exclaimed as he opened his front door.
This time Adamant Blade was wearing a rhino-gray colored short-sleeve hoodie over a cherry-red t-shirt, khakis and sky-blue, snow-white sneakers; he also had on an alive-green backpack with Crimson Feather hanging onto his belt.
On the other hand, Rainbow Dash was wearing a sapphire-blue colored short-sleeved hoodie that had a daffodil-colored stripe on the sleeves, a snow-white tank-top that had a sapphire-blue line going around from the front to the back, the tank top also had a light stone-gray cloud with a rainbow colored lightning bolt coming out of it on the front, she was also wearing indigo-colored pants that had a rainbow lightning bolt coming down the legs on both sides along with sapphire-blue, white and rose-red running shoes that had a daffodil-colored lightning bolt on each shoe; She was also carrying a grease-black duffle bag over her shoulders.
“Finally you’re awake wait, what’s that?” Rainbow Dash asked as she pointed to the Crimson Feather.
“Well apparently it’s a family heirloom which just so happens to be a Soul-weapon that is now mine” Adamant exclaimed as he scratched the back of his head.
“Oh cool...wait you have a Soul-weapon now?” Rainbow Dash asked in shock.
“Yea, I also named it Crimson Feather but I have no clue what it’s abilities are, nor do I know what abilities Im gonna get either” Adamant exclaimed as he stepped out and closed the door behind him.
“Wait you don’t know your Soul-weapon’s abilities?” Rainbow Dash asked as the two started walking to school.
“Pretty much, my grandparents didn’t explain them to me or they don’t know what they are either” Adamant explained after letting out a yawn. “Also I think it’s a double Soul-weapon”
“How do you know?” Rainbow Dash asked.
“Well because grandpa told me that the piece of metal my ancestor used to forge Crimson Feather was fused with a phoenix’s soul as well as thus bird shaped mark appearing on hand” Adamant explained as he showed her the mark.
“Whoa cool, so then are you going to transfer to some magic classes?” Rainbow Dash asked.
“Hopefully, and I’ll probably also try and sign up for the tournament portion of the competition coming” Adamant replied as the two reached a crosswalk.
“Well then good luck” Rainbow Dash exclaimed before going to cross the street.
“Wait!” Adamant exclaimed as he grabbed Rainbow Dash’s arm right when she was about to cross.
“Huh why-” Rainbow Dash started when a semi sped past them. “Whoa, thanks dude!”
“Eh you’re welcome” Adamant replied after letting go of Rainbow Dash’s arm.
“But uh how’d you know that a semi was going that fast?” Rainbow Dash questioned.
“I heard it coming I guess” Adamant replied while shrugging.
“Dude...I didn’t even hear it coming, much less have that much time to react!” Rainbow Dash exclaimed in bewilderment. “Okay I probably could of react but still!”
“I don’t know what to tell you Dash” Adamant replied while shrugging. “But if we don’t hurry up then we’re gonna be late”
“...Good point, come on!” Rainbow Dash exclaimed before the two crossed the street after checking to see if it was safe.
“By the way Rainbow, are you going to sign up for the tournament as well?” Adamant asked as the two rushed to make it before the first bell.
“Oh you bet and you know my friend Applejack?” Rainbow Dash replied.
“Yea, what about her?” Adamant questioned as they got closer to their school.
“She’s entering the tournament too, so if you manage to enter then we’ll have our three-person team for the event!” Rainbow Dash explained.
“Great and it looks like we’ll make it before the first bell!” Adamant replied as the two rounded a corner.
“Good, the sooner you-ah shit!” Rainbow Dash started to say before tripping, landing on the ground knee first and screaming in pain while clenching her knee.
“Rainbow!” Adamant exclaimed before rushing to his friend’s aid. “What happened?”
“I t-tripped and I l-landed on my knee!” Rainbow Dash managed to say through her grunts of pain. “I-I think it’s b-broken!”
“Uhhh hold on I’ll call 911!...” Adamant replied while he searched for his phone.
As Adamant was trying to dial 911 he hadn’t realized it but his left hand had moved to a couple of inches above Rainbow Dash’s knee and began glowing a golden-yellow color.
“W ait wh at the? T-the pain in my knee is fading... ” Rainbow Dash thought before opening her eyes and seeing Adamant healing her. “Uh Adamant, what’s going on?”
“Uh...I’m about to call 911 why, isn’t that what everyone normally does during an emergency?” Adamant asked as he showed his that he was about to press the call button.
“No, I mean what’s happening to with your hand?” Rainbow Dash replied as she pointed to Adamant’s glowing hand.
“What do you...what the heck, uh I’m not doing that or at least I don’t think I am...” Adamant exclaimed before he set his phone down and brought his hand up to his face.
“Well whatever you did seemed to have healed...my knee...wait a minute, I think you’ve gained another ability from your Soul-weapon!” Rainbow Dash replied before checking to see if there was any pain left in her knee, only to find no pain at all. “Call me crazy but I think one of your abilities is to heal others because I’m literally feeling no pain in the knee I landed on!”
“Whoa really?” Adamant asked as the light faded from his hand.
“Yep, I’m one-hundred, twenty percent sure!” Rainbow Dash exclaimed as she stood up, did some running in place motions and did some karate kicks using her knee.
“That’s good but maybe try not to trip again” Adamant replied before turning off his phone and putting it back in his pocket.
“Don’t worry I-” Rainbow Dash started to say when the first bell rang. “Dang it, lets go!”
“Alright!” Adamant replied before the two started sprinting to make it to their classes before the second bell. “I guess I’ll register during break time... ”

Chapter 3: Day 1 with Crimson Feather Part 1
Ten seconds before the bell rang a rainbow blur flew into Mr Cranky Doodle’s classroom and sat down in an empty desk.
“I barely made it ” Rainbow Dash thought before sighing and lying down on her desk.
“You okay sugarcube?” Applejackquietly asked her friend as Mr Cranky Doodle started taking attendance. “You’re usually not this late”
“Yea, just had a mishap on the way...” Rainbow Dash replied after turning her head to face her friend. “Oh and I got some good news”
Sitting next to Rainbow Dash was her friend Applejack who was currently wearing a peanut colored cowboy hat, a garnet, jet-black colored flannel, a denim skirt and hickory colored cowboy boots that have three red apples on the sides.
“Oh, what is it?” Applejack questioned.
“Well you know my childhood friend, Adamant Blade?” Rainbow Dash asked.
“I mean I’ve heard you talk about him but never met him personally, also isn’t Flutters your childhood friend?” Applejack replied
“Well yea Fluttershy is my childhood friend but so is Gilda and Adamant Blade; however unlike Fluttershy, Gilda who went to the same school as me, Adamant and I go back to when I got into Fencing, Kendo and Hema, we became friends/rivals shortly after meeting at his grandfather’s Kendo dojo” Rainbow Dash explained to her friend.
“Ah I see but what does this have to do with Adamant?” Applejack questioned.
“Well last night a Soul-weapon chose him to be it’s master so now he’s thinking of joining the tournament portion of the competition coming up along with joining some magic classes as well!” Rainbow Dash replied.
“Awesome!” Applejack accidentally shouted which earned her stares from her classmates, a chuckle from Rainbow Dash and a glare from Mr Cranky Doodle; she then apologized and sunk down into her chair while covering her face with her hat. “A-anyway go o-on...”
“However, there’s just one problem...” Rainbow Dash replied after managing to stifle a laugh.
“And what would that be?” Applejack asked after tilting her hat up.
“Well as far as we know he’s only gotten two abilities since getting his Soul-weapon” Rainbow Dash explained.
“Huh, what abilities does have now?” Applejack asked.
“Well so far he has improved hearing and the ability to heal others” Rainbow Dash explained before a realization hit her. “When Adamant registers his Soul-weapon will they be able to find out any other abilities he’s gained?”
“I think so, after all the staff members who register students show them a screen that has their stats and abilities so it’s probably the same with registering Soul-weapons” Applejack explained to her friend. “By the way, do you know what kind of Soul-weapon Adamant has?”
“Um he thinks its double Soul-weapon”
“What do you mean? Soul-weapons can either have a living creature’s soul infused with it or it can be bound to one’s soul” Applejack replied.
“Well from what Adamant claims, his grandparents told him, I guess a phoenix’s soul was infused into the metal that got turned into his Soul-weapon, and he has a bird-shaped mark on his right hand so...” Rainbow Dash explained.
“Okay I by the first part but are you sure he didn’t have a bird-shaped mark on his hand already?” Applejack questioned.
“I’m one-hundred, twenty percent positive as I had visited Adamant earlier yesterday to return the latest edition of Daring-Do that I borrowed, however there wasn’t any mark on the back of his hand” Rainbow Dash explained. “Adamant also claimed that his ancestor made the Soul-weapon that he now has”
“Uh okay...do you even know the name of this ancestor?” Applejack questioned as Mr Cranky Doodle gave papers for his students to pass out.
“Well no he didn’t tell me but I’m sure if you ask him he’d be willing to tell you” Rainbow Dash replied as the student front of her took a paper before passing the last one to her.
“Ah okay, but how am I supposed to ask him if I don’t know what he looks like?” Applejack questioned.
“Don’t worry AJ I’ll introduce you to him, besides I’ve been wanting to introduce him to you, everyone else also with the competition coming up and him most likely entering the tournament portion it would be perfect timing actually” Rainbow Dash explained as she was given the last paper in her row. “I’ll send Adamant a text to let him know”
“Alright” Applejack replied before getting started on the worksheet that she was given.
Rainbow Dash then sent a text to Adamant about the plan to introduce him to the rest of her friends.
“Alright, but it’ll have to be at lunch since I’m gonna be at the main office during break time and I don’t know how long registering for magic classes, the tournament is gonna take” Adamant replied.
“Is meeting in front of the library good for you?” Rainbow Dash asked.
“Yea will the rest of your friends be there?”
“No, they’re gonna be sitting at a lunch table” Rainbow Dash explained.
“Alright” Adamant sent.
“Oh and can you let me know your results from registering?” Rainbow Dash asked.
“Yea, but for now I have to go, Miss Inkwell is passing out a worksheet so I’ll ttyl” Adamant sent before putting his phone in his pocket.
“Alright ttyl2” Rainbow Dash replied before putting her phone away as well.
“So what did he say?” Applejack asked.
“Adamant is gonna meet me in front of the library while you and everyone else get a table” Rainbow Dash explained.
“Alright” Applejack replied before going back to the worksheet she was working on.
Meanwhile in Miss Raven Inkwell’s class…
“Alright everyone, today we’re going to be learning about one of the most famous blacksmiths in history, Cole Sparks! Raven Inkwell exclaimed before asking. “Now then, who knows anything about him?”
A couple of hands were raised so Raven Inkwell decided to pick Adamant who’s hand was also raised. “Yes?”
“Um he was magic-less and used to create weapons that were on par with Soul-weapons, his last weapon he ever made was a sword that was his first Soul-weapon which had the soul of a phoenix infused with it…” Adamant exclaimed after lowering his hand.
“That’s mostly correct but since no one has been able to locate the Soul-weapon Coal Sparks crafted there’s been some speculation that the Soul-weapon and the story of how he crafted it is a myth” Raven Inkwell explained before heading to her desk and putting up some slides. “Now then, Coal Sparks lived about five-hundred years ago…”
“Eh, so you’re that old Crimson Feather but how old is the phoenix soul that’s infused with you ? ” Adamant thought as he looked to his sword and patting it. “I have no idea why I just did that… ”
Later at beak Adamant had gone up to the front office and asked to register for the tournament portion of the upcoming competition along with wanting to enter some magic classes.
“Sure thing, what’s your name?” The secretary asked.
“Adamant Blade” He responded.
“Alrighty...hold on” The secretary exclaimed as searched and brought up Adamant’s file. “Oh...I’m sorry but it seems you can’t do either because you don’t have that much magic”
“Well um here’s the thing...yesterday I received a Soul-weapon…” Adamant explained.
“That changes things doesn’t it?” The secretary exclaimed before bringing out a rectangular tablet that had a shape of a hand on one side and a screen on the other side. “Now if you’d put your hand the back it’ll show me your stats, skills and abilities!”
“Alright…” Adamant replied before placing his hand on the backside of the tablet, causing the screen to light up.
“O-oh my!” The secretary exclaimed in shock which cased anyone nearby to look in their direction. “Eh sorry…”
“Um...is everything alright?” Adamant asked with a worried expression on his face.
“Y-yea, I was just surprised but I think it’ll be easier if you see for yourself…” The secretary explained before handing the tablet to Adamant who then flipped it around.
To say that Adamant was shocked would be an understatement as his strength, speed, stamina, defense have changed from being two-hundred to eight-hundred, and his magic went up from being fifty to being two-hundred; however that wasn’t his only change, he had also gained abilities such as, armor manifestation, blade manipulation, enhanced hearing, enhanced eyesight, fire manipulation, flight, healing and immortality.
“Holy-” Adamant shouted in shock, causing even more people to look at them. “Sorry, sorry”
“But are you sure this is correct and not a glitch? I mean it can’t be real!” Adamant questioned as he looked at the screen. “This must be because of Crimson Feather... ”
“I’m sure, these tablets never glitch” The secretary reassured as Adamant handed her back the tablet. “But um may I see your Soul-weapon? It’s just so I can register it.”
“A-alright I guess” Adamant replied before unhooking Crimson Feather from his belt and handing it to the secretary. “Just be careful with it, it’s my family’s heirloom...”
“Will do!” The secretary explained as she took Crimson Feather and started scanning it with another item she pulled from a drawer. “This is strange, its not in any record books...anywhere! ”
Noticing the concerned look on the secretary’s face Adamant asked what was wrong.
“Oh um...it appears it’s not in any record books that I can find, do you mind if I ask, who made this?” The secretary questioned.
“Eh Coal Sparks I believe, from what I’m told I’m his descendant” Adamant Explained. “But I’m not sure how reliable that information is so…”
“Ah I see...wait whaaaaat?!?”The secretary exclaimed in shock.

Chapter 4: Day 1 With Crimson Feather Part 2
“What’s wrong?” Adamant asked after getting startled from the sudden outburst.
“S-sorry but you mean to tell me this is the five-hundred year old missing Soul-weapon that Coal Sparks created?” The secretary asked in a shocked tone.
“I mean why wouldn’t it be, how else would you explain my boosted stats, my new abilities and this mark?” Adamant replied before showing her the mark on his hand.
“O-oh my...Adamant, your Soul-weapon is the one Coal Sparks created...which means that the story of it’s creation is real and not only is it infused with phoenix soul but also means that it’s bound to you!” The secretary exclaimed in excitement.
“Um yea I was told that by my grandfather but can I please just register for the tournament and magic classes already?” Adamant asked in a bit of annoyance.
“O-oh yea sorry, c-coming right up!” The secretary replied in embarrassment after handing Adamant back Crimson Feather. “S-so you’ve pretty much f-fit all the requirements, however I just need to know your Soul-weapon’s name…”
“It’s Crimson Feather…” Adamant replied as he placed Crimson Feather to his belt..
“Alrighty then, you’re registered for the tournament, as for the magic classes you’re going to have to talk to the guidance counselor for that!” The secretary explained. “Don’t worry she’s free right now so go ahead and knock on her door!”
“Okay, thank you!” Adamant replied before heading to the guidance counselor’s office and knocking on the door.
“Come in!” The counselor exclaimed to which Adamant did so. “Please, have a seat!”
“Thanks…” Adamant replied before sitting down.
“So then what’s your name and what do you need?” The guidance counselor asked.
“I’m Adamant Blade and I would like to transfer to some magic classes” He explained explained.
“Alright, do you have a preference on what type?” The guidance counselor asked.
“Um any physical or combat based magic classes would be nice” Adamant requested.
“Okay...oh there’s one physical class available which is taught by Mr Iron Will and there’s a combat magic class available which is taught by Ms Spitfire, which one would you like?” The guidance counselor asked.
“Combat with Ms Spitfire” Adamant replied without a second thought.
“Okay, and is this your first time using magic?” The secretary asked.
“Y-yea…” Adamant replied with a bit of embarrassment.
“Okay then I’ll also give you a magic basics class as well, is that okay?” The guidance counselor asked.
“Yea, but um how come you didn’t pull up my file or something?” Adamant asked.
“Oh it’s because when someone gets any changes to their stats or skills their file automatically updates to include any changes; and since my office is next to the front desk I was able to hear everything and not have to look up your file!” The guidance counselor explained.
“Ah okay, thanks” Adamant replied. “Though I still don’t understand… ”
“You’re welcome and your new schedule will be ready tomorrow morning so stop by the front desk to get it before you go to class!” The guidance counselor explained.
“Okay, thank you, have a good day!” Adamant replied when the bell signaling the end of break time sounded.
“Thanks, you to!” She exclaimed before Adamant left for his next class.
As soon as Adamant got settled in to his class he pulled out his phone to text Rainbow Dash the news. “Hey RD guess what?”
“What?” Rainbow Dash replied.
“I registered for the tournament and will be able to attend some magic classes tomorrow!” Adamant explained.
“Noice, but what about your stats and abilities?” Rainbow Dash questioned.
“Well apparently my stats including my magic have quadrupled, also you were right with the hearing because I have fire powers, flight, healing as we already knew, immortality, enhanced hearing, eyesight butthe two other abilities that are kinda weird...and I don’t really know what they do” Adamant sent. “Also Crimson Feather is like five-hundred y/o”
“Whoa and wdym?” Rainbow Dash sent.
“Well...one of them is armor manifestation which ig sounds kinda simple but the other one is called ‘blade manipulation’ and honestly I have never heard of that one” Adamant explained.
“What the? I’ve never heard of either one of those abilities before, what do they do?” Rainbow Dash asked.
“Well idk what blade manipulation does but as for the other one I’m assuming I can summon some armor but idk if it’s a full suit or not so” Adamant replied. “But starting tomorrow I’m going to be in magic basics and Ms Spitfire’s magic combat class”
“I see, well I hope you get to join the same class of hers that I’m in lol” Rainbow Dash replied. “But for now cya at lunch”
“Same lol and kk cya” Adamant sent before putting his phone away and starting on a worksheet.
Two classes later Adamant was waiting by the library’s entrance and was on his phone when a rainbow blur near slammed into the wall beside him.
“Hey Rainbow” Adamant greeted before putting his phone away.
“Heya Adamant, you ready to meet my friends and our teammate for the tournament?” Rainbow Dash asked.
“Yea!” Adamant replied.
“Alright follow me!” Rainbow Dash exclaimed before heading towards the cafeteria with Adamant following her.
“So um Dash, what are your friends like, is there anything I should be wary of?” Adamant asked.
“For the most part no except for Fluttershy, she’s really timid so try not to do anything that might startle or scare her and don’t be upset if she doesn’t speak to you right away or make eye contact” Rainbow Dash explained. “But all of them are really great, trust me!”
“Okay?” Adamant replied as the two entered the cafeteria only to be met with a squeal and a girl shouting. “Ohmygoshthey’refinallyhere!”
“Pinkie Pie don’t you dare, I haven’t even introduced him yet!” Rainbow Dash commanded.
“Aw but Dashie” Pinkie Pie protested.
“Fine but can it wait until I introduce him?” Rainbow Dash asked.
“Okeydokeyloki!” Pinkie Pie exclaimed.
“Thank you, now then everyone this is my other childhood friend besides Fluttershy, Gilda, his name is Adamant Blade, he’s going to be joining Applejack and I for the tournament!” Rainbow Dash introduced after Adamant stepped out from behind her.
“Hi, it’s great to meet all of you!” Adamant added.
“Hiii I’m Pinkie Pie, nice to meet you!” She explained after disappearing and reappearing a foot in front Adamant, startaling him.
“Uh h-hi?” He replied after managing to not fall flat on his butt.
Pinkie Pie was wearing a baby-blue headband, snow-white tank-top with three balloons on the front, two blue, one yellow in the middle, she was also wearing a cotton candy-pink to bubblegum-pink skirt over some snow-white leggings and had on taffy-pink, baby-blue shoes.
Pinkie Pie then smiled before disappearing and reappearing back at the table where her friends are.
“Uh…” Adamant started but couldn’t really process what had just happened.
“Don’t worry about it dude, she’s like that to just about anybody she meets” Rainbow Dash explained.
“Um okay but what about all that disappearing and reappearing?” Adamant asked.
“Easy, Pinkie Pie here is the descendant of the ancient Lord of Chaos, Discord, but she’s the only one in her family that inherited his magic” One of the girls sitting at the table that Pinkie Pie was at explained before introducing herself. “I’m Sunset Shimmer, it’s great to meet you!”
Sunset was currently wearing an oil-black leather jacket over a sky-blue dress, a translucent gold colored skirt, sand-blue jeans and charcoal-gray boots with a flame-orange line on the front.
“Nice to meet you to…” Adamant replied.
“Darling it’s nice to meet you...oh my god that sword is beautiful!” One of the three remaining girls shouted upon seeing Crimson Feather. “Where did you get it?”
“That’s Rarity, she’s kinda obsessed with fashion…” Rainbow Dash explained. “But why don’t we sit down.”
Rarity was wearing an aqua-colored long sleeved shirt that was tucked into a lilac-colored skirt which was being held up by a jet-black belt with a gold buckle, on the front-left side of the skirt was three sky-blue diamonds, gold bracelets and violet knee-high heels.
“Okay” Adamant replied before him and Rainbow Dash sat down at the table where her friends were at.
“Oh darling I’m not obsessed with fashion, fashion is everything!” Rarity responded after huffing. “But seriously where did you get the gorgeous sword?”
“Uh from my grandparents’ attic, why?” Adamant questioned.
“Because it’s beautiful, especially that gem in the middle of the guard!” Rarity replied.
“Well I have to agree with you, the craftsmanship is the best I’ve ever seen!” Adamant replied before adding. “Despite the fact that Crimson Feather’s five-hundred years old it’s edge looks to be as sharp as the day it was crafted.
“Um excuse me but who in tarnation is Crimson Feather?” Another one of the girls asked. “Also the name’s Applejack, good to meet ya!”
“Oh yea she’s the second member of our tournament team!” Rainbow Dash explained to Adamant.
“Cool, also this is Crimson Feather” Adamant replied while pointing to his Soul-weapon.
“You named your Soul-weapon?” Sunset asked.
“Yea, I know it’s weird but it felt like I had to…” Adamant explained.
“I-I’m Fluttershy...n-nice to meet y-you...” The last girl at the table muttered.
“Nice to meet you to Fluttershy” Adamant replied.
Fluttershy was wearing a long blue-green dress that had a sea foam-green trimmings on the bottom, a taffy-pink line on the waist of the dress with an egg-shell white butterfly on the front, three more taffy-pink butterflies on the front-right hand side of the dress near the trimmings and taffy-pink knee-high ballerina shoes.
“Wait you heard what she was saying?” Sunset asked.
“Yea, it’s one of my new abilities that I have thanks to Crimson Feather!” Adamant explained.
“Darling forgive me for not making myself cleared but I meant who forged your..erm Crimson Feather?” Rarity asked. “I would really love a necklace from them.
“Well that may be a bit hard as you see he’s been dead for like four-hundred or five-hundred years…” Adamant explained.
“Whatever do you mean? Surely he can’t be dead” Rarity replied.
“Well have you heard of a famous blacksmith named Coal Sparks?” Adamant asked.
“Yea the famous blacksmith who could make weapons that were on the same level of Soul-weapons, why?” Sunset questioned.
“Well he’s my ancestor and Crimson Feather was supposedly the last sword he ever crafted” Adamant explained “Well at least according to my grandpa and all the stories about Crimson Feather.
“S-so you mean to tell me all that stuff Rainbow Dash told me about Crimson Feather is true?” Applejack asked.
“Pretty much” Adamant replied.
“Coool” Pinkie Pie exclaimed after popping up from behind Adamant.
“Holy-” Adamant shouted out of surprise.
“Pinkie!” Rainbow Dash scolded.
“Hehe sorry” Pinkie Pie replied after giggling.
“But there’s still one thing that’s bothering me, why did your grandparents have Crimson Feather in their attic, instead of giving it to a museum or something?” Sunset questioned.
“Well from what I was told it’s a family heirloom that my grandparents wanted to give me on my eighteenth birthday” Adamant explained while shrugging.
“Okay?...Well anyway how do you know Rainbow Dash?” Sunset asked.
“We met at his grandfather’s dojo when we were little and kinda became best-friends/rivals” Rainbow Dash explained.
“Plus we both like Kendo, Fencing and HEMA” Adamant added.
“Not to mention you’re a pretty big sword geek” Rainbow Dash teased.
“Hey!” Adamant retorted. “At least I was able to hold a Shinai during the first two lessons!”
“I-I…” Rainbow Dash tried to say before blushing from embarrassment.
“Wait Rainbow couldn’t hold a Shinai when she was younger?” Sunset asked.
“Yea well unlike Adamant I wasn’t taught from the moment I could walk!” Rainbow Dash exclaimed. “Plus now days I either win or we’re tied.”
“Eh fair enough” Adamant replied before him and Rainbow Dash busted out laughing.
“Wow you two are really good friends…” Sunset exclaimed.
“You bet!” Both Rainbow Dash and Adamant replied in unison.
“But I have a question, do any of you know what blade manipulation is?” Adamant asked.
Everyone at the table shook their head.
“Sorry I’ve never heard of it before” Sunset replied.
“Me neither” Rarity added.
“Oh okay…” Adamant exclaimed after sighing. “It’s apparently one of my new abilities.”
“I see…” Sunset replied. “Sorry, I’ve never heard of it before.
“Eh it’s okay” Adamant replied. “I’ll ask Ms Spitfire or whoever my magic basics teacher is tomorrow.”
“What other abilities do you have?” Pinkie Pie asked before taking a cupcake out of hair and proceeding to eat it.
“Um I think I have fire manipulation, flight, enhanced eyesight, enhance hearing, armor manifestation, healing and immortality” Adamant replied.
“That’s...a lot of abilities” Sunset commented. “Are you sure that you have all of those?”
“That’s what showed up on the gauge tablet…” Adamant explained with a shrug. “But the two I’ve only used so far was the enhance hearing and healing I guess.”
“Cool” Sunset replied.
“I suppose” Adamant exclaimed.
The seven of them continued to chat for the rest of lunch before the bell rang, having them go to their next two classes before heading home.
“Well it was great meeting you, see you tomorrow!” Sunset exclaimed.
“Yea, see ya’ll later sugarcube” Applejack added.
“Byeeeee” Pinkie Pie exclaimed while Fluttershy simply waved.
“Bye darling, have a good rest of the day!” Rarity added.
“Thanks, it was good meeting you as well” Adamant replied before heading home.
Chapter 5: Magic Basics Class
“Alright, here’s your new schedule!” The secretary exclaimed before giving Adamant his new schedule.
“Thanks” Adamant replied before looking at his schedule and seeing that the magic basics class has become his second class while the combat magic class had become is seventh class.
“You’re welcome but if you need help finding the magic basics class then let me know!” The secretary added.
“Thanks, but what about combat magic class?” Adamant asked as he tucked the schedule into his pocket.
“In your case it’s mainly held in the second gym but sometimes it’s held outdoors” The secretary explained.
“Ah okay thank you, have a good day!” Adamant replied.
“Thanks you to!” The secretary responded before Adamant went to his first class of the day.
Once his class with Ms Raven Inkwell was over Adamant went to his magic basics class for the first time, to his surprise the classroom looked a lot like a science class, however there was a raised stone-gray square tile on each counter with four stools at each counter, a giant magic circle in the middle of the room, there was also another tile on the teacher’s counter which was connected to a desk that had some papers, along with a computer on it, and a desk chair; on the walls were posters of various magic circle types, magic creatures as well as there being glass-door cabinets with various magical items and a couple of bookshelves filled with Tomes and Grimoires.
“Ah you must be my new student!” A voice exclaimed from behind Adamant, startling him. “Oops sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you”
“Y-yea, it’s okay...” Adamant replied before turning around. “Um you are Mr Sunburst right?”
“Of coarse, I’m glad to have you in my class!” Mr Sunburst exclaimed.
Mr Sunburst was wearing silver glasses, an egg-shell white button up shirt with an Egyptian-blue colored tie that had teal-colored stars all over it, khakis and coal-black loafers.
“Thanks...so where do I sit?” Adamant asked.
“That can be decided after the bell rings, but for now come on it!” Mr Sunburst explained.
“Okay” Adamant replied before entering the classroom.
“But I do have to say your file surprised me!” Mr Sunburst remarked.
“What do you mean?” Adamant asked.
“Well because you have four of the rarest abilities ever, armor manifestation, blade manipulation, healing and immortality; not to mention that your stats quadrupled” Mr Sunburst explained as the last student entered his class and sat down before the bell rang. “Right everyone, before we start I would like to introduce your new student!”
“Wait what? ” Adamant thought as Mr Sunburst introduced him. “Hi...”
“Okay then, everyone today is a free period so I can catch Adamant up on what we’re doing, so then I would like you to place your hand on the magic circle on my counter” Mr Sunburst explained. “You don’t have to do anything except keep your hand there and I’ll do the rest!”
“Um okay but may I ask why?” Adamant asked as he placed his hand on the magic circle.
“It’s to determine your Attribute Animal, which is similar to a Spirit Animal however only those who have a significant source of magical power or have an Animal-Based Soul-weapon can have an Attribute Animal!” Mr Sunburst explained before modifying the tile, causing a light-blue colored magic circle to appear under Adamant’s hand. “Basically what this magic circle does is that it creates a holographic creature based off of your soul’s aura!”
“Okay...” Adamant replied before some cherry-red and flame-orange particles started floating up from Adamant’s hand before forming into a regal looking bird that looked to be partially on fire. “Um...Mr Sunburst is that what I think it is?”
“Looks like it, though I myself have never seen one in person but it looks like you’re Animal Attribute is a phoenix!” Mr Sunburst explained. “Which makes sense if your Soul-weapon was forged with the soul of a phoenix then you would also have a phoenix Attribute Animal”
“I guess” Adamant replied before removing his hand, causing the magic circle and the holographic phoenix to disappear.
“Now then, there’s an empty seat next to Fluttershy if you want, there’s no one assigned to it” Mr Sunburst exclaimed as he motioned to the empty Fluttershy.
“Alright” Adamant replied before going to sit next to Fluttershy.
“H-hi Adamant...” Fluttershy mumbled as Adamant sat down.
“Hello” Adamant replied as Mr Sunburst brought over a Grimoire that was titled, Magic 101 and some papers including a syllabus.
“Alrighty, this is your textbook for you to take home, try not to loose it, a syllabus for your parent or guardian to sign so you can participate in activities, field trips etc, a rules/guidelines sheet for my class and some worksheets that cover what you have missed!” Mr Sunburst explained as he handed the items to Adamant.
“Thanks” Adamant replied before taking out his binder and a pencil while Mr Sunburst pulled up a stool.
“Okay the first thing you need to know about magic/spells is how they work, in order for one to use a spellyou need to know how much magic power you have because if you don’t have enough then some spells might just end up killing you, or at the very least just cause a couple of sparks” Mr Sunburst explained after Adamant had placed his syllabus in his folder before opening the Grimoire that he was given. “Generally most spells require incantations however some don’t require any at all, just the thought and action alone can be enough to use a spell!”
“I understand...kinda” Adamant replied.
“Good, now then the use of magic is only limited by how much magic one has and their imagination!” Mr Sunburst explained. “As for incantation’s and magic circles they can be just as diverse as the human population.”
“Okay?” Adamant responded before asking. “Is there any laws about the use of magic?”
“Actually there is a couple, mainly don’t use your magic to commit crimes like theft, assault, etc; however, some magic is forbidden from use like mind control magic, necromancy magic, curses, possession, voodoo, any life draining magicand homunculus creation” Mr Sunburst explained. “There are also laws and regulations regarding magic items, like enhancers are illegal, certain talismans, voodoo items like dolls or items that can control or create artificial life.”
“Okay, I never knew there was so many laws and regulations” Adamant exclaimed.
“Yea, now then I shall leave you to work on the worksheets I gave you, so if you need any help ask me or any of your classmates for help!” Mr Sunburst replied before getting up, putting the stool he was sitting on back and went to sit down at his desk.
“I-if there’s any a-animal based q-questions you n-need help w-with then y-you can ask me...” Fluttershy muttered.
“Thank you” Adamant replied beforeopening his Grimoire and starting on the worksheets he was given.
