Chapter 0: The Anger Of A Lost One
Since she became a friend of the self-proclaimed "God of Chaos", she never saw him being even serious, or not having his naughty smile, but... Now, she never thought Discord could have been seen so... Creepy and... Even if she did not want to admit it, it was starting to make her feel anxious about how his friend did not talk when Twilight ended her story about beings called "Humans". And, for what she knew about Discord, it was bad news.
But when she put her sight upon her friend, she was almost unable to recognize him, his eternal and almost unbreakable smile was gone. Completely. He almost saw like a completely different being for how his face changed without his typical smile... And it frightened her to the core, she never thought Discord could seen so serious and stressed.
"Discord, there is something wrong?" She asked nervously as she kept her voice to a tone that just his Draconequus friend would have been able to listen. She just saw in surprise that he pointed his eyes onto her before taking his sight back to Twilight, which just started to pay attention of how Discord reacted for her story.
"No, there is nothing wrong, Flutters." He answered with a serious and stressed tone before clapping his claws into one moment, no one was been able to react, and she just felt how her heart started to beating in completely surprise and disbelief for what she just saw. He just disappeared without making or leaving anything behind. After all, everytime he teleported he always made his teleport a little bit... extravagant, but this was completely different, he just disappeared without leaving the usual aroma of pancakes or chocolate behind. The way of how he teleported was nothing they would have ever seen before, because even Twilight's teleport left a weird aroma of ozone and a flash of light before teleporting to another place, she just saw how Twilight just blinked in surprise, not believing what she just witnessed.
"What was that? Did he just disappear without saying a darn thing!?" The poni known as Rainbow Dash exclaimed as she just pointed how the reaction of Discord was not how he would normally react. But before anything, there was a great gasp that was given by the Princess of Friendship herself.
"The mirror! It's gone!" Twilight proclaimed as she pointed to the place where there was upon a time a mirror. But her brain, an instant after taking care of the gone mirror, she just made the needed neuronal synapse to make the connection between the two already gone entities."Did Discord just take the mirror!?"She said with anger and confusion. After all, why would he need something like the mirror?
The rest of the princesses, even if they were also surprised for what just happened, all of them took a moment to think of why Discord would have taken the mirror to himself.
Many thoughts went through their minds in those little and scarce moments, they went from logical to chaotic reasons, but they all knew that the only one able to answer their doubts was the now disappeared Draconequus.
But she knew better, after all, she was the one who paid more attention to Discord than anyone on the whole world, so...
"D-Did you s-see him before he b-banished?" Fluttershy said with her heart beating in worries and incredulity for Discord, after all, for what she just saw, they were all as confused as she was, but no one saw how the expressions and emotions of Discord changed through the whole Twilight's story in the human world.
"I didn't, you've got any to share, sweety?" It was the first time in conversation where Applejack interfered, but the look she gave to her was enough to make her feel anxious.
"W-Well..."
In the millennials that Discord has walked in Equus, he never thought he would have found something like this... A single door to where he truly belongs, a place where his kind was waiting for him.
Or at least, that was he thought before getting into the portal...
He never felt the same experience before, but all his hope, dreams and... Emotions were completely annihilated by just one single look at his surroundings. That was enough to let him see what this world truly was.
"This is..." He growled as he saw those fakers around him, his power, as great and powerful as it was, just took him a moment to stop the time in this world before doing something much worse to all these fakers that tried to be a bastardized version of a TRUE human. It just took a moment to him to get closer to one of this fakers.
"Just..." He never thought that the tears would have abandoned his eyes, after all, he swore to God never doing such a thing never again."A world that should NOT EXIST." He exclaimed with a hatred and anger never seen in this world before he poot one of his foot on this planet.
He wanted to destroy this world, breaking it to a primordial soup of proteins and fire, breaking the natural progression of life to just eliminate everything in this Fake Reality, but... The voice of his friends was enough for him to look down on disappointment.
They would never forgive him if he do this. Fluttershy... She would even hate him if she ever find out what he was about to do.
Letting his tears falling on this corrupted and completely FAKE REALITY THAT SHOULD NOT EX-
No, he is better than this. Yes, he would have done it before Fluttershy and... The rest, but it did not make the new wounds in his heart less painful. After all... This was the first time he was able to get out the normal Equus realities...
He just went back to the base of the statue and went through, but before leaving this plane, he snapped his fingers, letting the normal continuity of this world to flow back to normality.
Once he got to the other point of the portal, he clenched his teeth before collapsing against the floor. His tears, as shameful as they were to him, he was not able to stop them. He just wanted to get back... To his home.
This was unfair...

Chapter 1: The Memories Of A Prisoner
I've been in this world during centuries, perhaps thousands of years, before anyone else, but I'm still trapped in this cartoon world.
I still remember the cookies my mom made before I left home, trying to get to the school on time to not get other tardy for not being puntual.
I wish I just had let her hugged me one last time, before vanishing away forever. I was late that day, but... Man, I wished for more than a thousand of years of having one last kiss and hug from my mother.
Why did this happen to me? Why not other guy?
Why me?
I never said bye to them… Mom, sis, brother… I'm sorry.
"Soooo… what you are saying is that Discord was out of himself, for just listening to Twilight's story?" The earth pony asked, trying to put everything together, without even trying to think of the reasons behind Discord's actions.
"Hmm, this is weird."Twilight said meanwhile started to think about why Discord would have been so serious and even aggressive with everyone.
Celestia and Luna looked at each other, they did not know what was happening on Discord's mind, but they were sure that it might be related to what they knew about Discord. Even if it was not much, they might have some clue about what was happening.
After all, even if he was still not being a friend, he was a powerful and worthy ally that bestowed great power and knowledge, even if most of the creatures did not know it.
Trying to not let others in the room know about her uncomfortable feelings about having to release this information to others that are not in the royal class, Celestia interfered before anyone could have started talking again.
"I think I should show you something, Twilight."Celestia said with her normally gentle and calming voice meanwhile made a trunk appear through a spell that was quickly casted due to decades of practice.
The trunk, even when it was rotten and fragile due to the years and the incansable power of time. Everypony in the room stayed in their position, lifting one eyebrow for what was summoned into the room.
The only one who never stop smiling was Pinkie Pie, who was looking at the trunk with an interest that could be easily confused with her usual and totally normal happiness, but that this time was something more similar to the relief of knowing that they could know a little bit more about what is happening to Discord.
With a single movement of her hand, Celestia opened the rotten trunk, showing to the world objects that were not seen since one thousand years ago.
There were three things that Twilight recognized in less than a second; A cell phone, clothes, and… A journal? Wait, what?
Looking at Twilight's confusion, Celestia quickly started the new conversation."This is something no one knows, but… These are things that Discord recently said to us that belonged to him, we suspected it for a long time since we turned him into stone, but we agreed to give it back to him when we considere it properly, but… With this, we discovered that there is more on Discord's story and the records given in the books, because Luna and I kept it out of any register."She said, waiting for Twilight's reaction, which was almost in less than a single moment.
Everypony in the room saw how the factions of Twilight changed from confusion to surprise, from surprise to shock, and finally to anger.
"Bu-But why would you keep this objects out of the records?"Twilight said trying to keep her emotions to herself, after all, there should be a good reason behind Celestia's actions, right?
"Young Twilight Sparkle, we didst not keep it as a secret for no reason, we kept it as a secret from everypony because we never wot about what is inside the journal, e'en with the most powerful magic translator, we just were able to translate a part of the transcript" Luna said in her usually old and antique Equestrian language.
Twilight, without believing the words that came from Luna's mouth, she took for a moment the journal, and tried to read it. It just took her a moment before putting her look on Luna. She breathed before saying anything.
"But… I see it as regular Equus."It was said with a shy rumor, but that was strong enough to make the two regents to look at her on surprise for this revelation.
"But… How?" Celestia talked meanwhile took the journal from Twilight, she looked at the journal before putting her look back on Twilight."This is not a language know by anyone, it does not seem even similar to Equish!"
"Well, the humans on the other side of the mirror… They called Equish as English."The purple one said before having a new thought that was scratching her mind. She quickly took the journal to start reading, she started to open her eyes widely, meanwhile started to open her jaw, not believing what she was reading at that very moment.
"Di-Discord… Is he a human?" She said before started to quickly read everything in that journal, boot even when she was trying her best to read it as fast as she can, she was not even reaching a visible end…"He…"This was a shock for her, after all, how was this even possible?
"Discord is what!?"Everypony in the room exclaimed as they saw how Twilight's horsehair started to become more rebel.
"This are his… His memories."She said as she just looked at the journal with admiration, after all, she never thought that Discord could have this kind of stuff, after all, he was the God of Chaos, but…"This changes everything… This answers many questions like:Where is Discord from? Why is he the only Draconequus? But… This also makes a lot more."
Rarity, who was listening everything carefully, got into the conversation with just one question."Could you stop reading it?"She said with the feeling of anger getting deeper in her thoughts and soul."One thing is wanting to know what is happening to Discord, but what you are reading might be the closest thoughts of Discord! We should not be reading it without his permission!"She said as she looked at everypony in the room with disappointment. They might be desperate to know what happened to their friend, but that did not give them the right to read what is equivalent to Discord's heart.
Fluttershy, who was too shy to even stand up to say all the things that Rarity said, couldn't stop the little smile that was emerging in her face after seeing how Rarity defended Discord's privacy. Standing up, she went to Twilight."Twi-Twilight, can I have it…? I'll give it to Discord once he gets back, just…"She stopped at that moment when she saw some of the words written in the journal… Why was she…?"H-How?"She said as she felt a chill run down her spine.
"What happen sweetheart?"Rarity asked as she got closer to Fluttershy to know what was happening.
Fluttershy just looked at her before turning her head to the journal, and with a deep breath, she exclaimed. "W-Why can I read it?"

Chapter 2: Missing Chaos
The poor Fluttershy felt a weird sensation as she looked at the journal (diary) that her friend handed to her, it was… Weird.
The words crossed through one line in a horizontal direction, the words, even if she was able to pronounce them properly, for what her friends said, they were not able to understand what she was saying.
Or at least they didn't until she concentrated a little more to say it in proper Equish. Twilight tried doing the same thing, but she said it in Equish from the beginning. For what they knew, she already knew a completely different language, but she did not know it until now.
It was impossible, she said at first, but after casting some spells on her, they told her that… She already knew it.
Even after more spells, the only thing they were able to detect from her when reading the journal; her voice, and everything in that language was not possible to translate, Twilight tried it, but it didn't work out.
Even when Twilight and she were able to read it with no problem at all, there was a little trouble…
Discord did not appear.
And it was a month ago.
She was worried for her friend, even with the special "key" (it was a stick with his name written with… color pencils, and the stick was not from a tree that anyone has ever seen, or at least that was AJ and Granny Smith said when she asked them about the stick) that he gave to her to go to his "house" at any moment did not work. Even when she sent him many letters to let him know that she was making tea parties, he did not appear.
And for what she saw on Twilight's face everyday when she went to the library, she was getting desperate. The princesses did not know where he was. For what Twilight said, Luna kept using her Canterlot Royal Voice to threaten him to kick him to the moon if he did not appear in front of her during a week. Even Princess Celestia used the special spell made to summon (bring) him by force.
But it failed, like every other attempt to contact him. She stretched her hands a little bit before turning to see the book that represented Dircord's memories.
She was worried, and for what she knew, it was the only thing that could tell her what was happening to her friend.
Breathing a little bit deeper than what she expected, she opened the book to see what the tarnation her friend was going through.
And she just started reading it…

It just started like one more morning to me, it was no special or anything, it was even boring, I just remembered that I had to go somewhere, the school I think, sorry, it's been a long time since I went to the school, but I will try my best to write it properly, unknown person.
"Mom, I gotta go" I said as I was starting to run to the front door, not without almost falling against the ground for not being careful.
"Hey! Wait, aren't you missing something?"She said as she got closer to me, looking a bit annoyed that I forgot to tell her bye.
"Bye mom, gotta go!"I said without looking back for how hurry I was, I opened the door and closed it before running to my car to go to the school.
'Damn clock' I thought as I was turning on the car, past a few minutes letting the car to heat I started driving to the school without realizing the… Dark future I was about to face.
I got there in time, 15 minutes, I had to skip some red lights and all of that, but hey! It was worth it, after all this was the last test of the semester before summer. And I had to make it well on this because if not… Well, my ass was going to be prepared to be whipped.
When I got into the classroom everyone was already on their chairs. But Mr. Perez was not there, phew, he would have made me go back to get a tardy.
Some moments after I was already sit, Mr. Perez appeared; He was an old man of almost 50 years completely bald, with a robust beard, who was always wearing a casual t-shirt of Jurassic Park (I swear that he used it the whole year, but I might be exaggerating), yeah, he was a little sour and all of that, but he surely teaches well. And he was a good man when you put you on his good side.
He handed us our tests before returning to his desk to make some adjustments to the final grades. The test, even when it was hard for me to not study, was just regular physics.
After I was done I went through all my classes normally, talking to my friends and…
Who am I trying to lie to? I was too shy to make any friends, I was just a regular shy guy that always sat next to his friend.
I… was lonely, not because I did not want company, I was not edy, but because I was too shy to make friends.
This was not like the movies, I did not enjoy highschool because I was completely alone. And it was for my own lack of bravery.
I… never talked to anyone because I feared that they would make fun of me.
I should stop it. Just… I don't want to put these memories here. This is about how I ended here, it's not about those things.
It was the last period before summer vacation, I just… remember that the class was almost empty, I was just there with Miss Nguyen. She was a good teacher but… yeah, she was pretty quick to make her angry, so I did not take my cell phone out to not make her angry.
So I just decided to do the most normal thing to do when you have nothing to do.
I just fell asleep. And it was the last thing I did before having to be in this world.
The next thing I know is that I felt a little bit hot from the solar rays coming from the sun. And it was enough to wake me up and get my ass up as quickly as possible. After all, how was it possible that I was out of the classroom?
When I was in all my capacities I just looked around me, realizing that I was on a hill, without any trees to help me to shelter me from the sunlight.
With a calm that surprised me, I looked around one last time before doing the most reasonable thing I could have ever done.
I lost my shit, that's everything I can say.
"Why would he put those… things in his diary?"She said without the intention of having an answer. She never knew that Discord could curse using that… Language.
It left her thinking about how much she knew about Discord and if he considered her a friend after… Doing something like this.
She let a sigh out of her lungs after thinking what Discord would think if he knew what she did. Even when the reading was interesting for knowing what her friend felt and thought during that time, it did not help her out with anything about her actual situation.
Trying to put those thoughts aside, she decided to get back to reading a little bit more.
"Fluttershy! Are you in there?" The voice of Rainbow took her out of her reading followed by the sound of a door being opened, she quickly let out a little 'eep' before turning around to hide the Diary from Rainbow.
She put it under her couch before going to meet her friend.
As she was going downstairs, she was not able to resist the temptation of thinking what is inside the Diary.
'It seemed… Disordered.' She thought as she went to meet Rainbow.'And it also seemed like… if it was just written to have track of what happened… It was written without any details on it. It's almost he did not want to talk about where he is… From…' The mere thought was enough to let her think about why the diary was written that way. It was like Discord did not even think about how to write…
Like… If he was not OK during the time he made the script. But, why would he do it?
A single memory came back to her, when he said that he never had friends, it might have been more literal than she thought at first.
A life without friends…
"Discord…"She muttered as the question kept running through her mind. The only possibility that her friend, Discord, wrote all that book as a way to release his emotions because he had no one to help him, it made her feel… Dirty, as if she was breaking the trust he put on her. 'But you are reading it…' She thought as she tried not to feel guilty.
That thought did not leave her during the rest of the day, just making her feel worse for what she did.

Chapter 3: A Closer Approach To A Diary
Once Fluttershy saw Rainbow Dash waiting in the living room, she decided to know why she was there. Even if she loved that her friends had the time to visit her, it didn't make any sense to her because Rainbow looked a little… Annoyed and worried. Deciding to break the ice, she started talking.
"H-Hello Rainbow, how may I help you?"She asked politely once she got close enough to Rainbow.
Rainbow, with a look that she never saw on her face before; anger, rage, sadness, all of them were in her friend's eyes, which looked right on her eyes with conflict."We've found Discord."
Her heart beat for a moment with joy and happiness before looking at how Rainbow's eyes got so… Hollow.
And it made her fear the worst. With the feeling of claws plunging into her chest, she was just able to ask one thing."What happened?" The gaze on her friend's face was enough to tell her that something completely wrong happened.
Rainbow just gave her back a simple;"Come with me." It was everything she said before going out from her house with her following Rainbow.
This… Couldn't be, right? He would not have done such a thing. He… was a good pony. Good ponies should not have gone through this, he… did not deserve to be treated like this.
He was her friend! He would not have done something that drastic!
But… The proof was just before her…
Her friend, even in another form that she did not know before, was there, wounded and completely unrecognizable to her. He adopted another form, but she was not sure of why he would have done it.
Even in that form, she was able to recognize him, even when she never saw that new form, she recognized her friend.
She would even say that they were equal in many aspects, but she never thought that she would see the Draconequus in that deplorable aspect.
"Fluttershy, that is what happened." She heard Twilight's voice as something that was far from her, she did not even turn her head to see what she said.
"Bu-But… Why?" She said meanwhile the tears fell from her eyes as she saw how the wounds of his friend were healing slowly…"Why would he used them…?"She said with a chill feeling of fear as she saw the bloody Elements of Harmony.
"He… He used them to hurt himself."Twilight said with a lump in throat, trying in vain not to start crying for what Discord just did, and also trying to not say what Fluttershy feared the most.
'Discord tried to suicide.' Those were the implied words that Twilight gave, and everypony knew it. But it did not make her feel better.
The minutes passed, but she was not able to understand what happened. Her eyes were upon her friend, her… Best friend. He was there, lying in the hospital's litter, with a little smile on his face as she heard that he was dreaming and talking with something.
He looked so peaceful, with no problems. But it just hurt her more, for the single fact that the rest of the body was covered in blood from many wounds that refused to be healed.
She looked back at the Elements that were, for what Twilight said, encrusted into Discord's body.
'He… Took them from where they were supposed to be in an attempt to use them to…' That single thought break her mind, she went out of the room where Discord was.
And a single minute after that, she started crying as she remembered the Elements Of Harmony covered with Discord's blood.
It's been three days since she discovered what Discord did to himself. But, why would he have done such a thing?
The only thing that would have answers was hidden under her couch, and even if it was wrong… She had to know why Discord did that… Monstrosity to himself.
The single memory was enough for her to almost break once again, but with a will that she never experienced before she went to take the Diary out with the purpose of having answers.
She needed them… Not for her, but for Discord's wellness, after all, why would Discord try to do that thing?
With a new strength, she opened the book where she was before the new. And so, she started her reading.
Year 1, Day 1
I was there, screaming in complete disbelief and horror for being in a place that I never saw or been in my whole life as a freak. Many minutes passed until I was able to recover enough to be (maybe) reasonable about what happened.
"Aliens." I said with a proud attitude as I put my sight on the skies, trying to appear to be someone who just found his answers.
No, what really happened is that I just kept looking at my surroundings, trying to know where the hell I was and where I could find the closest bus station.
I stayed there for almost an hour, thinking about what I should do for now, and all options led me to the same; Investigate and check out if I'm not lost in an unknown place.
With a feeling of fear, I started walking through the hills to find anywhere to shelter my ass. I kept walking for the next 3 hour, just finding some trees and a single river that I decided to follow to find a settlement. It was hard for a student that never did any kind of exercise, and it was even harder for having my backpack with me. But I kept walking, taking some rest under some trees when I felt tired.
And with shame, I rested almost 8 times under different trees… Yeah, I was not the fitbro you could find in a gym, but hey! I was at least able to walk for some time before getting tired.
It was my plan, until I saw a rustic and old way made up of rocks. Trying to make a balance of which one was a better option, I decided to take some water using two empty bottles.
With that being set, I started walking to my new destiny that was waiting for me.
I saw many unusual things on my way, for example, one of them was that the clouds did not run through the skies during the whole day I traveled on the dirt road.
Ah, I remember that feeling. Everything in that place seemed to be… Wrong, like if everything was in perfect order with no one trying to break it. And even when I did love the order, it seemed wrong, like if something was off or even… Like if someone would have taken something off.
I was running, I didn't know what the hell were those things. But they were following me. The night fell 4 hours ago, which made everything even worse because I was not able to see anything, but luckily I had my phone so I used the light to see.
I knew that it was stupid, but I had no option left because it was either getting caught earlier, or running away with a slight chance of loosing them. I made my choice.
I really tried my best, and it was worth it once they lost my trace, because I was exhausted but I knew I couldn't get rest because I had to get a longer distance between those things and me.
Those things appeared once the night fell, and they started to follow me, they looked as if they were made up of shadows and light. I know what I'm saying is… Weird, and not possible, but just keep reading.
Those things look like a fusion between a humanoid being with the characteristics of a horse. Those things scared the hell out of me because they seemed antinatural to me, they were like if someone would have taken off a part of the night sky to just make these things.
I didn't know why, but… Everything in me told me to run away, it was not the mere fear that you feel when you see something dangerous, no, all my instincts told me to get my ass out there to not face a fatal destiny.
Even now, just by reminding myself of what those things looked like… It makes me sick beyond any comprehension, and I couldn't say why I feel this way. They looked like… Humanoid horses with no difference possible, also, they fear the light if the lantern of my cellphone is a proof, they tried to avoid it, and for what I saw (and experienced) I destroyed one using the lantern. But it made the rest angry.
Ugh… Now I'm trying to relax and not make anything that could risk my life. I turned off the lantern and started to look for anything that I could eat in my backpack; the only thing I found was a burger from McDonald's. Shit, I should have forgotten eating this one for lunch, but it's the best, now I have something to eat.
Good night diary.
Year 1, Day 3.
I didn't do anything the last day, well, except if you say that meeting with LEGENDARY FUCKING CREATURES IS DOING NOTHING.
Trust me, when I met them I was completely shocked because I never imagined that I would have been in a fantasy world! Woohoo!*
Who could have said that a 17 years old guy would have ended up in a fantasy world!
Well, I gotta tell you how that happened.
I woke up that day as usual, and I kept walking the same path from yesterday, but trying to avoid and being very careful about not finding those things from yesterday.
What I did was that I tried to avoid making any noise as much as I could. It made a lot slower, but it allowed me to enjoy a little bit more the surroundings.
Even when everything felt unnatural, it was beautiful. You know, it was peaceful and… The colors were brighter than I expected, everything was green and beautiful…
I kept following the path for three hours (it is what my cellphone said, at least).
I kept the route, but some hours later, I found an… Interesting thing going on.
"I should stop for now"She said as she closed the diary with a bit of disappointment, it was possible that the diary might be a little… Harsh to read, after all, it was a different language, but even if she already knew the language, she felt completely exhausted just reading it.
Letting out a yawn she put the diary on a bookshelf to go straight to her room. Even if curiosity was eating away her thoughts, she knew better than anyone that if it would not help her, the best that she could do for now was to try her best to find out what happened to Discord.
Once she was laying on her bed, she kept thinking about the possible reasons and possible secrets that the diary was hiding in its interior, ready to be handed to her.
No, she should stop thinking about that. She will find out soon, it's just a question of when instead of how, she will discover it soon.
But for now, she should sleep and… Try to dream about one of the tea parties that Discord and she loved a lot. Yes, it would be the best for now.
'Ha, he always enjoyed eating the cups…'She thought with a slight amount of bitterness and sadness hidden behind that simple sentence.
With a last thought, she fell asleep, without knowing that there might be something more waiting for her…
She was completely shocked for what she was looking at.
She was looking at…"B-But, ho-how?" She asked as she saw her friend before her, completely shocked of what was going on, after all, he shouldn't be there.
This was Princess Luna's realm! The Dreams and Nightmares are her duty and part of her powers!
But, even so, he was right there.
Even if he was in that… Form unknown to her, she was able to see the same smile that he always had when he was at her side…
She felt how her throat closed as she saw how he got closer to her. And she also felt how a chill run through her body as he started to speak.
"Hello, Flutters."

Chapter 4: Questions and Sorrow
Both of them looked at each other, one of them having a kind and friendly sight meanwhile the other was looking at the taller one with an expression of shock. It took one minute before the mare was able to recover from what she saw.
"How? And…" She asked softly, looking at him just like if she was looking at a ghost that shouldn't be there, with her. She saw how the face of her friend deformed into a bitter look and how his smile disappeared before looking at another direction. "Why?"
"I…" His words got out from his mouth with a tone that she never listened being used by him before, it was weak, insecure, just like if she was talking with… Herself. "Don't know."
At the very moment she listened to those words, she hesitated a moment, it wasn't Discord, or at least, not how Discord would've answered, which only remarked how much she knew about her… Best friend. But she needed to be strong in that moment, she saw how he was struggling to not running away from her sight, it was a very different attitude from what she was already used to.
It was like… Meeting someone the first time, just like if she didn't know anything about him.
"What do you mean?" By any pony that knew Fluttershy, it'd be surprising to see her making a whole sentence without hesitation. But in that moment her mind was a disaster, and she needed everything she got to not scream at the answer he just gave to her. She was containing her tears, but even with all her strength, she needed all her concentration to not let a single tear to go all the way down.
But from what she looked at his face, and for what she felt in her cheeks, she knew she was failing. But she needed to proceed, he needed her.
"I… don't know flutters, it's just-" She saw how he just stopped a moment, before looking back at the surroundings. "What Twilight said, everything just…"
A silence fell in the whole place after his sentence wasn't completed, the confusion and the need of answers were in there, as well as the fact that Discord seemed to be doing his best to answer them, but because for his emotional state, he couldn't do it.
She saw how his body was tense, she was able to see how his muscles were flexing just for the physical and emotional strength that he had to use to not fall down into a emotional disaster, just like if was trying to contain everything.
She just stood there for a moment, Discord wasn't trying to make jokes, or even trying to make her feel better, it just showed how much Discord wasn't managing all of this. The mere fact that he was being alone with her only made her rethink about the whole situation she was in.
Slowly, she got closer to him, she saw how he just put his gaze upon her moves, she saw how the muscles started to be flexed, not on purpose, it was easily to see that because his sight was upon her he wasn't doing it on purpose, but because of some kind of instinct. It reminded him about some bears that were injured that she had to feed in the past…
In less than a moment, she was in front of him, and with just a single movement, she hugged him.
He didn't reacted. He didn't until some minutes after that, she thought at first that he was uncomfortable, but when she tried to move away to give some space, he just placed his arms around her body before starting to cry.
Maybe she didn't get her answers, but she knew that he wasn't doing well, and… that she was there, with him being hold around her arms meanwhile she felt how he was doing his best to hold his tears, but failing for the fact of how she felt how his tears were falling down to her fur.
She stayed there for what she felt an eternity before she woke up.
When she woke up, she went straight to the diary of Discord. She needed to know more, to truly understand what Discord was feeling, she knew she couldn't do all the work, but she could help him at the beginning of the process of healing.
But in order to do that, she needed to completely understand what Discord had to say… And the answers lied inside of Discord's diary. Taking a deep breath, she tried to make her daily routine before digging inside of her best friend's diary.
It took her almost two hours before finishing all her chores, and when she sat down on her couch, she decided to grab the diary, and start another chapter of his story…
I… Cannot really say that I don't care…
I… They tried to kill me.
I'm not bad, right? I just defended myself.
They tried to kill me when they saw me. No, they tried to make themselves look friendly.
Everything is a trap.
The Sky, the Shadows, the Light, the Order.
Their Knights tried to kill me.
I… How was I able to overcome them? I don't remember how I did it. I just felt wrath, I felt my instincts taking over, I remember lying down on the ground after they tried to ambush me.
Oh God, why can I still feel the blood? I washed my hands! I still feel their blood covering me!
… The… Diary ends there? How? She remembered that there were more pages!
Unless… Discord! He should've done something to diary, this looks like if many entrances were erased on purpose!
But why?
It's just like if… “Because there are some and certain things that you shouldn't know. Not even the Heralds of this Era know about it…”
She quickly turned her head towards the direction where the voice came from. She just saw Discord, or at least, Discord in his new form.
“Why?” She asked hesitantly after a while, trying to make sense of the whole situation. “Why can't I know?” She repeated her question after finding the inner strength to make it. She needed to know why all of this spectacle was made, why would he have just given his heart to her, just to vanish it in front of her.
“... Fluttershy, there are things that no one in this Era knows about. I don't even know how all of this started, but I finished it a long time ago.” He growled before looking at her eyes.
In that brief moment she saw… Grief, and… sorrow?
“I don't want you to be crushed under the weight of that knowledge, the diary and your knowledge are just a part of a complex system of… Destiny? You might call it like that, but it is ultimately a safeguard system to keep you alive if those things ever came out from where I threw them.” His explanation didn't make sense, or at least, not for her. “Just… Desist, I'm gonna get help Shy, but please, don't ask me to tell you”
“Tell me”
She didn't hesitate, she knew that it was not the best way to help him, but she ultimately knew that even if he tried to get help, he wouldn't open up to anyone but her and the others.
He already tried to take his own life, but it didn't work. She didn't know why, maybe the Elements didn't want to kill him, but she highly doubted it, after all… Discord and the Tree where opposites, natural complements that helped to regulate the world.
So… Maybe… He had… No, it was pretty accurate that he didn't die because of something, but it was certainly not the Elements or the Tree of Harmony.
“I'm not asking you to tell me everything, but I want to help you… I just want to know how you feel.” The words came out from her mouth faster than she intended, maybe it was the nervousness, but she meant every single word.
“I… I'm not alright Shy, since I wake up in this Era… Everything is hard, I have to keep the balance, but the Tree… It wants to recreate the Old Order… It thinks that I… No, you don't need to know about it. My job is now extremely difficult… I fought against this one time Flutters… I don't want to fight you. The mirror was my last effort before…” His words had a tone of sadness and stuttering, it was almost imperceptible but she caught it because of how she was with him.
“What do you mean?” She asked before gulping, she didn't know why but all of this felt a little bit… Uncanny, almost disturbing for how he looked at her and his surroundings, she almost felt the sickening tone dripping from his words.
“I… already destroyed the life, Flutters. I don't want to do it again, not to you.” His voice sounded voided almost as if he tried to hide his feeling before a tone devoided of feelings.
And she just felt a shivering going through her body after what he said.
