"Whoa there, big guy!" Applejack grunted, planting her boots firmly on the pavement, her geode glowing.
"Man, this thing's strong!" Rainbow Dash shouted as she zipped back and forth, tightening her grip on the rope. Her geode glowed as well, the streak of rainbow light she left in her wake giving her the speed needed to keep the bull distracted.
Applejack chuckled despite the strain. "Strong? Sugarcube, this thing's got more fight than Winona on a bad day!"
"Is it just me," Rainbow said, panting as the bull fought their grip, "or is it kinda weird we’ve faced magic-crazed bears, wolves, and even raccoons, but this is the first time we’re dealing with a bull?"
Applejack gave a wry smile. "Guess it was bound to happen sooner or later. Can't have a roundup without a bull, right?"
The bull roared, twisting its head violently and pulling the rope taut. Suddenly, its body began to glow brighter, and green sparks erupted from its form. The girls exchanged worried glances.
"Uh, AJ... this ain't normal," Rainbow warned.
Before Applejack could reply, the bull's body began to shift. Its hind legs thickened, muscles swelling grotesquely until they transformed into powerful humanoid arms. The beast stood upright, towering over the girls, its glowing eyes now burning with rage.

"Rarity!" Applejack called. "Watch out! That thing's dangerous!"
"Please, Applejack," Rarity replied with a smirk. "Dangerous or not, it’s in dire need of a makeover. Allow me to introduce my latest accessory."
As she spoke, the magic around her geode swirled to life. A glowing white mace materialized in her hand, its surface shimmering with crystalline spikes. With a flourish, Rarity swung the mace in a wide arc, the weapon connecting with the Minotaur’s jaw with a loud crack.

"Hey, AJ," Rainbow whispered, nudging her friend. "Do you think that Minotaur thing from this morning has something to do with the portal to Equestria? Maybe it was like... a super-evolved bull from some alternate pony dimension."
Applejack gave her a flat look. "Rainbow, I’m pretty sure it was just a regular bull until it got corrupted by magic. Not everything has to be a conspiracy."
"Yeah, but what if—"
"Rainbow Dash! Applejack!" Mr. Cranky Doodle snapped, pointing his ruler at them. "Unless you’re planning to give the next lecture on ancient civilizations, I suggest you zip it!"
"Yes, sir," they both muttered, sinking into their seats.

He raised his sword high, summoning an even larger wave of vines and plant creatures from the ground. The earth trembled as they surged forward, their numbers overwhelming.
“Sunset, we need a plan!” Sci-Twi yelled, her geode glowing as she prepared another magic blast.

“Let her go,” Sunset growled, her voice deeper, more commanding. “Or else. ”
Thornblade smirked, unfazed by her threat. “Or else what, little phoenix? What could you possibly do to me?”
“This.”

“Alright, y’all,” Applejack said, rolling up her sleeves. “Let’s take this thing down!”
Pinkie Pie grinned as she wheeled out her Party Cannon , now modified with an ice mode Sci-Twi had installed earlier. “Time to chill out, rooty-tooty!” she declared, pulling the cannon’s lever.
With a BOOM , the Party Cannon unleashed a powerful blast of freezing energy. Frost spread rapidly across the root system, encasing it in a thick layer of ice. The green glow dimmed as the roots slowed, their energy sapped by the intense cold.
“Keep it up, Pinkie!” Rarity said, summoning a series of crystal constructs to protect the group from stray vines attempting to fight back.

She hung up and turned to Sci-Twi. “Looks like we’re taking a dessert break.”
Sci-Twi smiled. “After the day we’ve had, I think we’ve earned it.”

Sunset set down her guitar, running a hand through her fiery hair. “Yes and no,” she admitted. “Princess Twilight wrote back, but it’s still pretty vague. She thinks Equestria’s magic is spilling into this world more than ever and that our powers are... adapting to it.”
“That’s unsettling,” Fluttershy said softly, hugging her tambourine.

I simply cannot imagine what other lunatics we might face if this magic keeps getting stronger.”
“With our luck? Probably a lot more,” Sunset said, leaning back in her chair.
The group groaned collectively at the thought.
“Well, if we’re gonna keep fighting crazy villains, we might as well keep our strength up!” Pinkie Pie chirped, bouncing into the room with her arms full of baked goods. “Introducing my latest masterpiece: the Double-Deck Chocolate Berry—hold the Explosion Lava Cake! ”
She set the towering dessert on the table with a flourish. The cake was a marvel of pastry engineering: two thick layers of chocolate sponge, sandwiched with berry compote, and covered in rich chocolate ganache.

Twilight froze. Out of everyone in the class, why did it have to be Corkscrew ?

“Great,” he muttered loud enough for Twilight to hear. “Stuck with her. ”
Twilight sighed, slumping slightly in her chair. Corkscrew wasn’t just another student—he was a former Crystal Prep attendee, and unlike most of the students who had accepted Twilight after her transfer, he resented her. To him, she was the girl who had destroyed Crystal Prep’s reputation by not only transferring to Canterlot High but also by unleashing dangerous magic during the Friendship Games.
As class ended, Corkscrew sauntered past her desk, muttering, “Try not to blow up the lab this time.”
Twilight clenched her fists, biting back a retort. She grabbed her bag and stormed out of the classroom.
Later, at the mall...
The Rainbooms were gathered in the food court, sharing snacks and catching up on their day. Twilight, however, could barely touch her smoothie.
“So let me get this straight,” Rainbow said, leaning forward with a raised eyebrow. “Out of everyone in your class, you got paired with Corkscrew?”
“Yes!” Twilight groaned, slamming her hands on the table. “I could’ve worked with anyone—literally anyone —but no, I have to work with the one person who still blames me for the Friendship Games disaster!”
Rarity patted Twilight’s hand sympathetically. “Darling, I’m sure it won’t be that bad. Perhaps this is an opportunity to... I don’t know, bury the hatchet?”
Twilight groaned. “He doesn’t want to bury the hatchet. He wants to throw it at me!”
“Maybe you could just show him how brilliant you are,” Fluttershy suggested softly. “If you work hard together, he might change his mind about you.”
“I’d rather work alone,” Twilight muttered.
Before anyone could respond, a loud BOOM shook the mall, sending a wave of panic through the food court. Shoppers screamed as smoke billowed from one of the main entrances. Moments later, a massive crab-shaped mech lumbered into view, its metal claws snapping menacingly.
“Attention, citizens of Canterlot!” a voice bellowed from the mech’s speakers. “I am Dr. Crabber , and I am here to claim all that is valuable in the name of science!”
Pinkie Pie immediately burst into laughter, nearly falling out of her chair. “Did he seriously call himself Dr. Crabber? That’s hilarious! ”
The rest of the girls exchanged looks of disbelief.
“Does he not hear himself?” Rainbow asked, raising an eyebrow.
“Focus, y’all,” Applejack said, already standing and cracking her knuckles. “We’ve got another lunatic to deal with.”
As Dr. Crabber’s mech began smashing storefronts, dozens of Crabbots —smaller, spider-like drones—scurried out of its hull, scattering into the mall to grab anything of value.
“Let’s move!” Sunset shouted as the girls activated their geodes.
Rainbow Dash and Applejack charged toward Dr. Crabber, drawing his attention away from the panicked shoppers. Rainbow zipped around the mech, her speed making it nearly impossible for the villain to lock onto her.
“Hey, Doc!” Rainbow called, dodging a swipe from the mech’s claw. “Ever think about getting a better name? Because ‘Crabber’ isn’t exactly intimidating!”
Dr. Crabber growled, slamming the mech’s claw down in frustration. “Silence! My brilliance will not be mocked!”
Applejack took the opportunity to grab the mech’s other claw as it swung toward her. Planting her boot firmly on the ground, she stopped the massive claw in its tracks. With a grunt of effort, she twisted the claw, causing the entire mech to spin uncontrollably.
Meanwhile, Rarity and Pinkie Pie focused on the Crabbots.
“Not on my watch, you thieving scoundrels!” Rarity declared as two Crabbots scuttled toward a jewelry store. She summoned a crystal barrier, blocking their path, then froze them in place with a blast of ice from her geode.
Pinkie Pie, wielding her modified Party Cannon, loaded it with confetti and aimed at a group of Crabbots. “Fire in the hole!” she shouted, pulling the lever. The cannon fired a blast of colorful confetti, destroying the Crabbots in an explosion of sparks and streamers.
Twilight, still frustrated from her earlier encounter with Corkscrew, fired a series of rapid magic blasts at a cluster of Crabbots. Her aim was precise, and the drones fell apart one by one.
“Nice shot!” Sunset called, taking down another Crabbot with a stream of fire.

“Did... did I explode again?” she asked nervously.
The rest of the Rainbooms peeked out from behind their cover and nodded in unison.
Twilight sighed, slumping slightly. “Great.”
Dr. Crabber groaned as police officers hauled him out of the disabled mech. The Rainbooms regrouped, each of them exhausted but relieved.
“Twilight,” Sunset said, placing a hand on her shoulder. “We need to figure out what’s going on with your powers. That’s the second time this week they’ve gone haywire.”
Twilight nodded, her expression conflicted. “I know. I just... I don’t know how to control it.”
“We’ll figure it out together,” Sunset assured her.
Twilight’s basement lab, a mix of high-tech gadgets and makeshift experiments, buzzed with activity as the Rainbooms gathered to address Twilight’s magic surges. On one side, Fluttershy was sitting on the floor playing with Spike, who happily chased a rubber ball across the room. Sunset folded her arms. “How do you want to play this?”
Rainbow’s eyes narrowed. “Shiver made it clear—he wants us to show. Makes it easier to take them down.”
Applejack exhaled. “I feel ya, sugarcube, but… what if it’s a trap?”
Rainbow blinked at her. “It is a trap.”
Applejack sighed. “Just makin’ sure we’re all on the same page.”

“Ranger! Cover me! ” Shiver barked.
Ranger nodded, pulling five explosive boomerangs from his belt and hurling them at once .
Blue Thunder saw them coming.
She sprinted up the side of a building , barely dodging the spinning projectiles. At the last second, she leapt off the wall and landed on top of a parked car, using the momentum to springboard off it —

The boomerangs connected , setting off a massive explosion that tore the car apart.
Shiver, meanwhile, aimed his cold gun at a fire hydrant and fired. The rushing water froze instantly , creating a slick sheet of ice across the street.

The second her foot hit the ice, she lost control. Her momentum carried her forward , and she slid uncontrollably straight into the icy hydrant , crashing hard onto the pavement.

Apple Smasher nodded. “Right. If their beams cross, they cancel each other out. ”

Outside, Ranger’s explosives and Mirage’s blasters pounded against the barrier.
Inside the dome, Blue Thunder took a deep breath.
“Okay,” she muttered, cracking her knuckles. “Let’s end this. ”

Twilight and Sunset arrived at an old warehouse , their scanners pinpointing Fluttershy’s exact location inside.
Before they could move in, an armored figure suddenly landed in front of them, his metallic suit gleaming under the streetlights.

Blue Thunder and Apple Smasher were still under heavy fire , their rock dome now completely frozen by Shiver’s gun.

The Guardians gathered , surrounding a weak and disoriented Twilight , who lay on the couch, slowly regaining consciousness.
Her eyes darted around anxiously.
“My mom… they took my mom! ” Twilight stammered, tears forming.
Sunset knelt beside her, gripping her hand. “We’ll get her back. I promise. ”
Applejack placed a hand on Twilight’s shoulder. “We’re not leavin’ family behind, Twi. We’re gonna bring her home. ”
Fluttershy whispered softly. “But where would they take her? ”
The room fell silent for a moment —until Rainbow Dash’s eyes narrowed.
“Knowing Mad Jack? ” she muttered.
Everyone turned toward her .
“There’s only one place he’d go back to… ”

Dead-Eye smirked. “Who? No clue, sweetheart. ”
Blue Thunder clenched her fists. “We can do this the easy way… or we get answers the hard way. ”

Sugar Girl’s hair suddenly frazzled , sensing danger.
“Wait—trap! ” she shouted.

She fired a confetti blast from her Party Cannon , exploding a cluster of hidden changelings lying in wait for an ambush .
Blue Thunder scowled. “Okay, they knew we were coming. ”
Solar Flame narrowed her eyes. “Alright, we split up. If you see anything— ”
“Alert the others, got it, ” Apple Smasher finished.
The team split , cautiously moving through the dark exhibits .

“Duck! ” she yelled.
A venomous blast splattered across a mirror , sizzling through the glass.
Chrysalis and Cozy Glow emerged from the reflections.
Crystal Freeze summoned her crystal sword. “Bad idea sneaking up on someone in a hall of mirrors. ”
Chrysalis sneered. “You’ll never find Velvet. ”
She clapped her hands together, creating a shockwave —
Shattering the mirrors around them.
Changeling minions poured out from the broken shards , their eyes glowing with menace.
Cozy Glow grinned. “That is… assuming you survive long enough to look. ”
WIth Solar Flame and Star Sparkle, at the Robotics Lab...
The two girls moved carefully , sensors buzzing around them.
Suddenly—
Darts flew past their heads, embedding into the wall.
Mad Jack emerged, twirling a colorful cane.
“You two are such a delight. ”
Star Sparkle’s eyes burned with fury. “Where’s my mom, you psycho?! ”
Mad Jack grinned wide. “Oh, she’s fine. Probably having tea as we speak. ”
He twirled the cane faster, his eyes gleaming with madness .
“But you? You should be worried. ”
Star Sparkle raised her fists, her magic crackling. “Bring it. ”
Dead-Eye swung a powerful punch at Blue Thunder , but she ducked swiftly , her speed giving her the edge. She retaliated with a hard kick to his chest , sending him stumbling backward.
“Fast, but not fast enough! ” Dead-Eye barked.
His cybernetic eye glowed red , firing a searing laser beam .
Apple Smasher stepped in front of Blue Thunder , taking the blast directly to her chest .
Dead-Eye smirked. “Ha! Gotcha— ”
But Apple Smasher stood firm , only slightly dazed . She gritted her teeth through the pain.
“You’re gonna wish you didn’t do that,” she growled.
Together, Apple Smasher and Blue Thunder delivered a synchronized punch—one to Dead-Eye’s jaw, the other to his mechanical eye.

Dead-Eye collapsed onto his back , groaning. His cybernetic lens sparked , flickering with damage.
Blue Thunder knelt beside him, her tone sharp. “Who’s been sending all these villains after us? Who put the target on our backs?”
Dead-Eye coughed , blood trickling from his lip. “I ain’t tellin’ you nothin’. ”
Apple Smasher cracked her knuckles , her eyes hard as stone . “You sure about that, partner? ”
Her glare alone made Dead-Eye hesitate.
He groaned, giving in . “Alright, alright! It’s Darklight! He put the bounty on you! He wants you outta the picture. ”
Blue Thunder’s eyes narrowed. “Who the heck is Darklight? ”
Dead-Eye panted. “Don’t know much… just that he’s serious. And he’s got connections. Real bad ones. ”
The Changeling minions kept swarming , their numbers endless—
But Sugar Girl blasted them away with her Party Cannon , switching it to ice mode .
FWOOOSH!
A frosty blast froze several changelings solid , trapping them like insects in ice.
Cozy Glow, frustrated, aimed her mech’s cannon . “Oh, you are so gonna regret— ”
Before she could fire—
Butterfly called on a gust of wind , blowing loose snow and frost across the mech’s joints .
The Cozy Clobber froze in place , gears locking up .
“What the—!? ” Cozy frantically pressed buttons , but the mech wouldn’t budge .
Crystal Freeze seized the opportunity, slashing her crystalline blade.
SHING!
She sliced off the cannon barrel , rendering Cozy’s weapon useless .
“Ugh! You Guardians are the worst! ” Cozy whined.
Before they could celebrate—
Chrysalis tackled Crystal Freeze, pinning her to the ground.
“I’ll break you this time! ” Chrysalis snarled; her eyes filled with rage.
Butterfly’s instincts kicked in. Her geode glowed faintly , and her eyes flashed green .
Tapping into the strength of a bear, she grabbed Chrysalis and hurled her off Crystal Freeze , sending the villainess crashing into a pile of broken mirrors .
Before Chrysalis could recover , Butterfly locked eyes with her , activating The Stare .
Chrysalis froze , her body trembling under the intense gaze .
“Where is Twilight Velvet? ” Butterfly’s voice, though gentle, carried an unbreakable authority .
Chrysalis struggled but couldn’t resist.
“She’s… in the basement lab… secured under lock and key. ”
Butterfly released the stare , and Chrysalis collapsed , panting.
Sugar Girl smirked. “Yay! Go team! ”
Solar Flame stood her ground , flames subtly flickering along her fingertips.
“You were never much of a threat, clown, ” she said with a dangerous edge.
Mad Jack grinned, his manic energy undeterred. “That was then, girly. This is now. ”
He lunged forward , throwing a handful of metallic jacks laced with electric sparks .
Both girls dodged —Solar Flame ducking low , while Star Sparkle raised a gravity shield .
Solar Flame countered with a sharp kick to his face , making Mad Jack stagger backward . Star Sparkle followed up with a magical blast , but Jack rolled to the side , narrowly avoiding it.
“Scared, ladies? ” he taunted, his grin widening.
Solar Flame smirked. “Oh, I’m terrified. But I like to dive head-first into my fears. So… do your worst, freak! ”
Mad Jack’s eyes gleamed with twisted delight.
“Oh… not that I needed your permission, but that’s precisely what I had in mind. ”
Star Sparkle narrowed her eyes. “What do you mean? ”
Jack twirled a card between his fingers, his tone dropping lower.
“Ever wondered why every villain’s been coming after you? Steelfist. Thornblade. Crabber. The Rogues. Us. ”
Solar Flame stiffened.
Star Sparkle’s jaw tightened.
“There’s a reason, girls. ” Jack leaned in, his voice dripping with malice. “You’ve been messing with forces you can’t possibly understand. You’re in the way of something… bigger.”
Star Sparkle had heard enough.
“I’m done with your nonsense. ”
She fired a concentrated gravity blast —slamming Mad Jack into the wall with a loud THUD!
He collapsed, unconscious .
Solar Flame approached her. “You okay? ”
Star Sparkle’s breathing was heavy, but she nodded. “Yeah… but he knows something. Something big. ”
Before they could discuss further, the rest of the Guardians arrived , Twilight Velvet unconscious but safe in Butterfly’s arms .
Star Sparkle rushed over. “Mom! Is she okay? ”
Butterfly nodded. “Just sedatives. She’ll be fine. ”
Relief washed over Twilight.
The CCPD swarmed the Science Center , placing Mad Jack, Chrysalis, Dead-Eye, and Cozy Glow into custody .
Shining Armor gave his sister a reassuring nod before the doors of the police truck slammed shut .
But as the villains were driven away, their eyes burned with hatred —and Mad Jack’s smile never fully faded.
The Guardians gathered around the table, nursing their wounds and processing everything .
Rainbow Dash leaned forward. “Dead-Eye spilled something. Some guy named… Darklight. He’s the one who put the bounty on us. ”
Rarity furrowed her brows. “Darklight? Who is that? ”
Applejack shook her head. “Dunno. Never heard that name before. ”
Sunset tapped her chin in thought before grabbing her journal.
“I’m asking Princess Twilight. If this is Equestrian magic… she might know something.”
A few minutes later, her journal glowed with a response.
Sunset read aloud:
We fought a Darklight before. He was a necromancer troll, steeped in dark magic. We defeated him, but… If there’s a human version of him in your world, Sunset…
The room fell into a heavy silence.
“A necromancer? ” Fluttershy whispered.
Pinkie shivered. “Spooky… ”
Star Sparkle clenched her fists. “Whatever he is, he’s been coming after us. He threatened my family. He’s made this personal. ”
Sunset’s eyes hardened.
“Then we find him. We stop him. Together. ”
The Guardians nodded in agreement.
