As Lightning Runner races to the home of a mare from his past, he is haunted by memories of what happened there, and struggles to come to terms with the reality he may face upon finding her.

This has obviously expanded already, and I can also label it sort of a growing-up tale from the prospective of an outside observer. However, I don't want to spoil it for those who haven't read it yet.
