Chapters The Origin of Derpy: Part 1 Chapter 1
I awoke in a white room with rows of other filly's, medical supplies abundent on all the counters, a sign in red letters that stood above a door reading "intense care" and a terrible glare that came from rectangular lights from above that gave off a loud hum. I turned my head side to side and saw I was encased within a giant plastic cylinder, with tubes running all along my body and up my snout. Not knowing where I was or what was going on I started to fidget around and cry, until I saw three black figures approach me from all sides and look down onto me. I was now silent in studying them and what they were doing. One of the figures was wearing a white coat and holding a clipboard flipping through the pages while conversing with the other two figures on the opposite side of the first. The second figure had jewelry on her ears, and around her neck, while the third figure had a thick stubble all around his jawline and slicked back hair that gleamed in the light from above.
I was now completely focused on the second and third figure that stood above me, both of them with water running down their cheeks and rolling off of their chins, landing onto my cylinder casing. Confused I turned my attention to the first figure who had just put down his clipboard and began talking to the other two.
"We are all sorry, due to how early she was, her birth defects will be permanent.".
The figure with the jewelry plastered all over her held her hooves to her face and leaned into the shoulder of the colt standing next to her. Wrapping his arm around the mare he began to respond.
"Is there nothing more we can do?" said the colt.
"I am afraid not, magic and science have only come so far... maybe some point in her lifetime we'll have a solution for the filly", he tapped on the plastic as to point attention to me, "but for now this is all we can do." he said with a sigh to catch his breath. He continued "she is stable, and within a couple of months she will be able to leave and live a more or less ordinary life".
The mare bawling her eyes out onto the colt by her side gathered some composure and began to plea to the colt in white across from her.
"If money is an issue..." the colt in white raised his hoof as to silence her.
"Like I said before, I am sorry. There is just nothing more we can do at this point.". He then proceeded to walk away from my line of sight. I turned back over to see the other two figures entwined, the colt gently stroking the mare's mane as to comfort her in some way. After a few minutes of continuous crying the mare turned around away from the comfort of the colt's shoulder revealing her cyan eyes surrounded by red from her excessive crying. She leaned down and kissed the cylinder, then whispered.
"If only you were normal" And proceeded to walk away with the colt. The mare walked through the doorway and the colt turned to face me once more.
"Your no daughter of mine..." He murmured as he walked out, not even bothering to close the door.
A few months later
"So the big hand indicates the hour of the day and the little hand indicates what minute it is within that hour... Speaking of which look at the time, I think its time for all good fillies to go to sleep" nurse Redheart said barely covering up her yawn due to the time. She sat her book she was reading from down and set them among a pile of others. The books varied from math, science, english, history, all the things young minds needed to know in their lives. "Is there anything you'd like to say to me before I head out for the night deary?". I only held my hoof to the plastic as to reach out to her, the only way I knew how to communicate. "Still can't talk huh? Well... that excuse doesn't work with me missy, just because you can't speak that doesn't excuse you from becoming a productive member of society!" She said with a playful tone of enthusiasm and a wink. "You'll be able to talk someday soon, I'm sure of it. Goodnight sweetie.". She said as she pecked the outside of my container and began to walk out of the room. She turned off the lights and I could see her stare back at me one more time before the door shut.
Nurse Redheart was the only visitor that I have ever gotten in here, besides the occasional doctor visit. But I rather detested those visits... Always pricking me with needles, giving me shots. I don't even know what for! Ms. Redheart says I'm perfectly fine, I don't get it but oh well. She constantly tells me that they only give me the shots because they love me and want to keep me healthy, but I feel just fine! She says once I'm well enough my parents will come and we'll live happily together. So far that has yet to happen.
I ceased my thoughts and leaned back ont my side closing my eyes, allowing me to drift off into a slumber.
Later that evening
I awoke from my sleep within my plastic cylinder with an erratic shake. My eyes bolted open and I saw a dark hooded figure eyeing back at me. He froze for a moment then held his hoof up to his face and began to hiss as to make sure I didn't scream. He lifted my container and began to disconnect all the cords connected to it. Once this started I began to cry, almost instantly hoofsteps could be heard coming from outside of the room. The dark hooded figures eye widened as his head jolted back and forth, and without a moments notice began to sprint straight towards one of the rooms four walls. I closed my eyes thinking we were going to crash. But when I opened them again I was astonished to see that we were inside a hallway and his head was glowing a bright blue. As he sprinted throughout the halls, an alarm went off, which must have caught the mystery colt off guard because he in response tripped, falling to the ground losing his grip on me and allowing me to roll off to the side. With a short and loud "BUCK!" the colt was back to his hooves. Grabbing me up real quickly and proceeding on his path. As we headed down a darkened hallway, two security guard's jumped out in an attempt to stop the pony napper. The newly formed road block didn't faze the colt however, and with a "tsk" uttering from his mouth his head began to light up once more and we phased right through them... then a wall... then another, until we were finally outside.
It was the first time I was ever graced by Luna's beautiful night. Too bad the circumstances were not better. The colt grasped me tightly in his right hoof as his head slowly turned around as to gather his bearings. But his concentration was suddenly cut short by the sound of door's being slammed open unleashing a symphony of barking dogs, which could be heard making their way toward the stranger. Without a moments hesitation the colt headed towards some brush that laid in front of him. He ran into the bushes until he came out on the other side, revealing a steep slope that lead down into a canyon where a small river could be seen. The barking and hoofsteps of the guards could be heard much louder now, and becoming more so with each passing moment. In an attempt to escape, and with much hesitation he began to slide down the steep slope. Weaving in and out of debre as best he could with the lack of lighting that he had. However it was all for not. With a sudden thud the colt had been caught on a rock sticking out of the earthy slope sending the both of us flying through the air. He was the first to hit the ground making a large thud. I was the second... I'm not quite sure what sound I made because everything then went black for me. I awoke sometime later, still within the grasps of a now unmasked colt as he continued on his path sprinting all the while. His red and white mane thrashed around with each step he took. His grey coat completely drenched in his perspiration. My intense stare on the colt was broken by the sound of him whispering to himself.
"Almost there... just a little more.". Around five to ten minutes later I could see us approaching another hooded figure sitting on their haunches next to a little river where lay a small wooden basket. As we approached the mystery pony, it ripped its mask from her face and neck revealing familiar jewelry. Her hair was the color of the sun, fading in between yellow red and orange all wrapped up behind her head in a bunch that shout out in a spike. While her coat remained a simple white. She embraced the original pony napper in a loving hug, almost causing him to drop me... AGAIN! She relinquished her death grip on the colt and began her questioning.
"Were you seen? Was it difficult!?". The colt only replied with half lid eyes and a look of non amused expression on his face. After she examined his face long enough to gather her answer she started up once again.
"Okay then let's get this over with then." as she turned her attention to the basket afloat in the river, and began to skip happily over to it motioning to her partner in crime to follow. The colt happily obliged as he made his way over to the mare. He set me down on the grass next to the river and slammed his right hoof several times into the cylinder breaking it into thousands of pieces, a few of which cut my cheeks, causing my eyes to instantly tear up. The colt reached in and brushed some of the sharp plastic off of my body. He then placed me into the basket and began looking directly into my eyes, not soon after this his partner looked over and began doing the same. This was the first time I got a good look at my captures. The cyan eyes I had seen before in the mare, were distracted not caring to truly look at me. But the grey colt... his eyes.. his eyes were a full spectrum of colors. They were incredible to look upon... After a few moments of silence the colt began to clear his throat.
"Uh hmmm... yes well, hi there uhhh filly. My name is Fuze Hooves, and this is my wif- uhhh your mother, Solar Hooves. We're your parents. I know this is rather hard for you to understand. Especially since we never visited you while you were with the hospital.".
"I don't think she can even speak english yet." Solar interrupted.
"Well that doesn't mean I can't try and at least tell her what going on." Fuze replied.
"Finnnnnnnnn, if you must." Solar exclaimed with a utter disgust in her voice.
"Yes well, where was I? Oh right, so you see little filly, we come from two very prestigious families. We are even royal blood if you can believe that. And that being the case, our social status requires us to be, well.... pure. An someone as yourself... well, there just isn't room in our family tree for you if you catch my drift. We didn't know you'd turn out like this, and if word got out that we had a derped eye child, why we'd be so ashamed and what would our peers think!?" Fuze putting extra exclamation on the last part while putting a hoof to his heart as if he was having a heart attack. Turning his attention back to me after his little spasm of a performance. "We don't hate you. It's just good business... We wanted you to at least have a shot in life. That is why we didn't wait too long before doing this since fillies tend to grow up rather quickly, you can still have a foalhood. And although we may not want or love you, i'm certain someone will... Just not us. And don't worry your pretty little head" He said while patting mine. "Anyone and everyone has been paid off, It's like you never even existed. So with that it's time to say so lon... Oh wait dear would you like to say something?" turning his attention to the mare who was now fiddling with her hooves to pass the time.
Solar simply replied with a head shake followed by "Get on with it already!".
Without a moments notice later Fuze stuffed a scrap of paper with a few scribbles on it between me and my basket and pushed me forward, causing the basket to catch in the current of the river... I laid upwards and watched as my captures... my parents, slowly faded from my sight. As they were almost out of sight, my lips moved in a motion to form a word but no sound was made. I simply lipped "Why?".
Chapter two: A new beginning
The Origin Of Derpy: Part 1 Chapter 2
I sailed down the river for hours until I got caught on some tall grass that grew among a concealed part of the river that ran straight through the Everfree forest. I began to cry from my exhaustion and hunger. I must have been loud enough that somepony could hear me and began to walk over to investigate my noise. I was silent and studied my surroundings as the hoofsteps approached me. The willows that grew rampant in the opening made a natural darkness that covered most of the morning light that seeped through their leaves. A cloaked figure hovered its head above me and my basket. The mysterious pony stood their until I heard the mare speak.
"Hello there." She said with a smile as she removed her hood over her head. Her hair was a mixture of cyan and crimson red that was swept forward with a single hair standing up where her hair parted and making a curl while the of her hair running down her neck looked as if it had been in a fight and lost. Her coat was a dirty white, and her eyes were a baby blue.
"What are you doing out here filly?" Where are your parents?" She asked quizzically. I naturally began to cry at the question. "Ah shit! Shhh... hush" she said repeatedly lowering her hooves downwards trying to silence me. Suddenly a howl could be heard nearby and her eyes grew wide, and she sprinted off. I sat there with an ere silence that befell the area. The silence was broken with the sound of breaking twigs making their way towards me. I lifted my head from my basket and saw three timberwolves making their way towards me. Their eyes a disgusting shade of yellow with saliva running down the agapped mouths with their sharp jagged teeth grinning at me. I rolled over, trying to angle myself to stand up. Up until that point in my life I have never walked, nor even stand. I tried copying the images that nurse Redheart had taught me in her books, trying to stand to get away. I even began to flap my wings... but had little to no effect in benefiting me. Once I began put weight on one of my hooves, I lost balance and fell out of my basket landing on my stomach. One of the timberwolves observed my actions and bolted towards me, pinning their front right paw on my neck and clamped down onto my wings crushing them instantly, as to prevent me from trying to escape again. The pain was indescribable, my eyes became waterfalls pouring out tears of pure agony as my head fell to the forest floor. I blacked out a few seconds after that.
Earlier that day
"Hey Daze... You awake Daze?" No answer. "Daze wake up!"
"Uhhhh what do you want Sandy?" I said with a groan as I tossed my blanket over myself to show I wasn't interested in talking to her.
"Well you know what today is right...? I turn twelve... What's supposed to happen?" The mare asked as she looked doown upon me from the top bunk of our bed. My eyes shot open from the question, and I turned around to faace her.
"Heh...Uhh.... What do you mean?" I replied trying to cover up my initial fear by rubbing the back of my neck.
"Well Ms. Lily and Cobblemane both say tha-"
"Shush Sandy. Nothing like that happens. Today's just another day. So happy birthday." I said with a stern tone to her.
"Thanks Daze, I feel much better now." She said as she climbed down from the top bunk almost falling down onto her haunches.
My name is Daze, I don't know my last name since I was born into this place. From the outside it looks like a normal well run orphanage... But that's all a lie. Truth is, is that this place is hell on equestria.
"Alright Daze." Siad Sandy with a smile and a obvious skip as she made her way out the door. Luna I hope she didn't see my tear. I closed the door and put my back to it slowly sliding down the plank until I was on my haunches, with both forehoofs in my face abosrbing my tears.
The truth is... Well I couldn't bare to tell her the truth. I want her to retain some innocence for however log she could have some.
I choked off my crying, got up and made my way to the window and began looking out of it. Our room stood on the second story of the main building. As I looked for Sandy on the outter part of the compound I saw Ms. Lily's good Cobbleman make his way to her, he put his hooves around her neck and began leading her into Ms. Lily's office. I began crying again as I saw her last moments of innocence fade away with the closing of that door.
Here's how this so called orphanage works. Your given a shot here... If Ms. Lily lets you. A chance to get adopted and get out of here, that's if your lucky enough to get zone 1. Zone 1 is the outer wall of the orphanage where they put all the little fillies outside to play and have a foalhood. If you get adopted great! If not... Well then you get zone 2. In zone 2, your a slave. You work from dawn to dusk slaving away in Ms. Lily's mines. Some of us are special though and can get out of it... That's if you catch the eye of Cobblemane. I think you know what I mean by that... Anyways if your like me then you get special treatment and don't have to work in the mines and you even get your own room. I chose to bunk with Sandy though so I could try to protect at least one filly in this hell, but in return you have to give the guard ponies special treatment. You see know one knows about zone 2 or anything that goes on here for 3 reasons. One, after zone ones playground theres a building built in a giant circle enclosing off the main build of the orphanage where everypony sleeps and behind that build there's a chain link fence with barbed wire atop of it that none of the foals see because of a special hallway leading from the main tower out to zone 1. Reason two, Ms. Lily is a unicorn and uses her magic to ensure none of the pegasai see what is going on from above with an illusion spell. And reason three is Cobblemane, the main guard of the compound. Sure there are more than just one guard, but he's the real brute. He's the reason why I cant fly... You see once you reach a certain age he will take you into a special room and break your wings to make sure you don't go off flying and telling everpony what's going on here.
The whistle to let everypony know that the fillies were in the yard and work was now to begin sounded off. I grabbed my gray wool cloak that hung within my clost, put it on and made my way out of the room going down the staircase that led to the bottom of the tower. Once at the bottom there were two doors. One marked fillies with on guard on both sides of the door and the other read Mares/Cots that had no security, but a line of workers with morale broken and heads hung low. They all wore stripped uniforms that looked like prisoners attire. As I made my way to the fillies door as to go into zone #1 (one of the priveleges I get with being.... Cobblemanes pet.) A colt in the other line spat on the back of my neck as I walked past and the whole line began jeering at me. A tear shed from one of my eyes as one of the guards jumped from his post and began to beat him mercilessly for his actions. I jerked my head away from the savage beating and made my way through the door, through the hall and out to zone #1. As I reached the outside I was greeted by Stormcloud, Sandy's friend
"Hey Daze! Have you seen Sandy around? I wanna give her this.: She said while holding up a red heart laced with purple saying 'Happy birthday to my PBFF.'
"Uhh sorry Storm... I havn't seen her." I said with a lie, I knew exactly where she was. And the fact that she was lead into Ms. Lily's office instead of work meant she caught the eye of Cobblemane too.
"Ohh... Wellllllllllllllll, if you do see her can you tell her I got something to give her?" She replied with ignorant bliss, not knowing the fate that had befallen her friend.
"I'll be sure to do tha-" I was cut off by the foulest voice in the world.
"Welllllllll if it isn't everypony's favorite mare... Go run along Stormcloud I can let Sandy know for ya" Cobbleman said, sending a chill down my spine and twisting my innards.
"Thanks Mr. Cobblemane!" Stormcloud said with a smile and a wave of goodbye to the both of us.
"Soooooo where are you going for your afternoon stroll today, huh Daze?" Cobblemane said rubbing his hoof subtley up my flank until finally reaching my cutie mark that resembled a flame.
"Uhh out" I said quickly, as I moved my flank away from his prying hoof.
"Oh? Into the acres? What for?" Cobble said in the most annoying voice he could muster. (Once again having Cobblemane's eye has it's privelegs. Unlike the others I'm able to leave this hell... Somewhat. The acre leads right into the Everfree forest and although Cobblemane always sends one of his goons to watch over me I always escape his eye's within the forest. But if I'm not back in a certain amount of time, he comes after me himself.)
"Oh nothing just some fresh air." I said not looking him directly in the eye. I needed to escape from the harsh reality that Sandy now faced.
"Hmm well, I suppose I can let you go; I have to look over Sandy today. It's her birthday today, did you know? My where does the time go. Seem's like only yesterday she was just a filly and now she's becoming a young mare." Cobblemane said. I had to hold back my urge to cry and beat him with as much strength I possessed in my body.
"Ye....ahhh I know; So can I go now?" I said as I pointed to the white picket fence that stood in front of the zone.
"Hmm? Oh sure." My question apparently breaking his daydream about Sandy's flank... Bastard...
He opened the gate and let me out, I lifted the hood of my cloak over my head and began trotting down the natural dirt that lead right into the Everfree forest. I made my way into the forest, taking notice of Cobblemane's escorts shadow pass me by. I continued to follow the road until I hit the river that ran through the forest. Although I can always escape the line of sight the escort has on me, that does not mean he's not looking, so I always head down to a special grounds where even the sharpest eye's can not see through. I followed the path until reaching the spot. I took a deep breath and began to untie my cloak when I head a sound. I went over to investigate it, and to my surprise a little filly with eye's looking every which way they could began to stare at me. I let my cloak down.
"Hello there" I said with a smile. "What are you doing out here filly? Where are your parents?" I said thinking to myself aloud. Without warning the filly began to cry. "Shit!... Shhh.. Hush!" This did not help at all. She must have no idea about the dangers within the forest. I heard a blooding chilling howl and began looking in all directions. Seeing no other options at the moment I sprinted off away from the filly. I hid behind some brush not far from where the filly lay in her basket. I poked my head up from it and came into full view of 3 tiberwolves that had been attracted to her and her scream.
I continued looking and saw the filly try and make her way away from them, first by trying to lift herself up but failing in her attempt. Then by flapping her wings. Not a moment later one of the timberwolves had her pinned down and was clamping down onto her wings. A heart wrenching howl was heard from the filly for a second or two then nothing at all. I instantly looked back at my wings having all the pain I have endured myself wash over me like a tidal wave. If it wasn't for the fact that Cobblemane had broken my wings I would have just swooped in myself and lifted the filly up out of harms way. I began thinking of the worst possible out comes of the situation.
There was no way I could leave the now unconscious filly to fend for herself. Then a plan hit me. Without a moment's hesitation I looked at the now empty basket the filly laid in just a few moments earlier, and began to make my way over to it slowly as to not attract the wolves attention. I lowered my head and gripped the basket within my mouth as I took notice of the other two wolves making their advance towards the filly. I took the opportunity of the unaware wolves and charged at the one holding the filly within it's jaws headbutting it to the ground knocking her free of the wolfs grasp. While the wolves began to register what had just happened I quickly swiped the filly up and stuffed her back into the basket and began running down the same path that I had followed earlier. I was out of the line of site when I heard a blood chilling howl announcing that the chase was on.
I weaved and ducked under branches, bushes, roots all with the safety of the filly in my mind and nothing more. I continued on my path that lead me to my spot to make sure of one thing, that the guard saw me. If I were to exit at another location he wouldn't be there. I sure as hell cant take all these timberwolves on by myself but on of Cobblemane's men are more than capable of it. I made it to the edge of the forest bursting out of it like a bat out of hell, with leaves scattering all around me from my speed. Instantly the wolves did the same and were gaining, that is until my plan kicked in. The guard swooped down and landed hard making the dust from the dirt road scatter around him in a ring. He braced himself downwards looking as if he was ready to charge and spread out his wings into their full length. I wasn't on sticking around though to see my plan in action. I continued to run down the road knowing full well that I was re-entering hell... But at the time it seemed like the lesser of two evils.
Chapter three: From Depression to Opression
The Origin of Derpy: Part one Chapter 3
I awoke within my basket, swaying back and forth. I looked over and saw the mare from before, her hair flailing up and down against the wind as she sprinted. I looked back and saw a muscular stallion standing his ground between us and the timberwolves. I could only imagine what happened back there. None the less, she rescued me from whatever grim fate those wolves had in store for me back there.
My savior continued to dash down the dirt path we were on, knocking my head in all directions. Making it near impossible to see where it was we were going. After a few minutes of continued sprinting she began to slow down to a trot. I could now see where we were heading, and took note of a enlarging structure ahead of us. A white picket fence surrounded the structure, flower bushes engulfing the entire bottom of the fence. The scene of playing fillies could be seen from afar. The closer we came to the entrance of the structure, the slower my savior moved. We were nearly in front of the fence when she looked at me and spoke.
"Now I need you to stay hidden for me, can you do that? I just need you to hide under your blanket for now. I promise it wont be for long, I just need you to do that for me."
I didn't know how to respond to that request so I just obliged and rolled over in the blankets covering myself entirely. She did after all just save my life, I have no reason to believe she'd steer me wrong.
"Good girl, now just stay like that until I say its okay to come out".
I poked my eyes out of one of the covers and saw we were finally at the gate where a gray muscular colt stood.
"You're late, by a good half hour Daze... You know I don't like to be kept waiting."
"Yeah... I know I'm late. Can we just keep this between you and me and not tell Ms. Lily?" Daze said in a soothing voice as she bumped her chest against his, moving her lips mere inches from his and lifting her hoof up to scratch the bottom of his chin.
"Well... I suppose we can, but my silence wont come cheap." The colt said as he leaned forward closing his eyes and puckering his lips. Daze instantly reacted tilting her head to the right dodging his face, all the while cringing her's. Daze then moved her whole body away from him and was now standing behind the colt.
"Good, I'm glad we have an understanding." Daze said as she turned away and headed to a door with a sign above it marked "fillies".
"Hey Daze, what's in the basket? I don't seem to recall you leaving with one this morning." The colt questioned.
Daze became frozen stiff. "Oh, what this? No no, I uh.... found it? Right, I found it in the woods. An decided to take it." Daze said while sinking her head and bracing herself, for what I hadn't a clue.
"Uh huh; so you just stole somepony's basket? For no good reason? Just decided to walk off with it huh?"
"No!" Daze said sternly regaining her posture. "I saw no one, therefore I didn't see a reason for me not to be able to take it." She said turning herself the other way again, heading towards the door once more.
"Riiiiiiight...... Well don't worry, I wont be long." He said with a cocky tone. Daze closed both her eyes and wiped one with her right hoof. She gulped down, and headed through the door.
As soon as the door closed, the aura became different. What was once a cheery and pleasant vibe was now all gone. Replaced by a ray of woe and depression, with a gray gloom lingering over everyponys head. We walked through the ere, dimly lit hallway and emerged through the other side. I figured we were in the clear so I began to unravel myself from my covers. "No! Not yet, stay right where you are." Daze demanded in a hush, I halted my actions and began to play possum once more. As she continued to walk I heard sounds mixed with her steps... Sounds resembling metal clanking against something. What it was hitting I hadn't the foggiest. We made our way to a wooden staircase, once there Daze began to sprint up until she reached a door that read 'Room of Daze and Sandy'. She swung the door open, bolted in and slammed it behind her letting out a deep sigh of relief the entire time.
"Okay you can come ou-" Daze was stopped dead in the middle of her sentence. I turned away from looking at her to see what she saw. It was a tan filly with blonde hair and bandages wrapped around her wings. "Sandy?" Daze with a look of fear on her face began to slowly creep towards the filly. "Sandy?!" She repeated, her fear growing in her voice. Daze grabbed her shoulder and the filly jerked her arms over, slapping Daze's arms off of her. The tan filly whipped her face around towards Daze. Her fur under her eyes stained from tears and anger evident within them.
"YOU LIED!" Sandy yelped at Daze. "I TRUSTED YOU! YOU TOLD ME ALL WOULD BE FINE AND YOU LIED TO ME!"
"Sandy I couldn't have bared telling you...."
"DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT HE DID TO ME!? I WAS STRIPPED OF MY INNOCENCE. HE VIOLATED ME DAZE! He broke my wings and violated me..." Sandy became too choked up from her emotions to maintain her angry volume she was addressing Daze with and just began crying into her hooves. Daze reached over trying to make contact with her again, but her hoof was swatted away once more.
"Your......... to me." Sandy Murmured.
"What?" Daze asked in a concerned tone.
"I SAID YOU'RE DEAD TO ME!" She screamed as she pushed Daze away from her and ran out of the room crying. Daze's eye's went dull as she fell onto her haunches. Tears began forming in her eyes, but she did not shed them. She closed her eyes picked herself up and began walking towards me.
"Sandy's a fighter. I know you don't know her yet, but me and her are like sister's. And in time she'll become your sister too. Right now though she's frightened and doesn't know who she can trust in this world. She'll come around... Someday." Daze said all the while looking out the open door. I had no idea what she was talking about; I came to the conclusion that it was grown up stuff. She then continued talking while looking at me. "I failed her today, as a friend and as a sister. But I can still help you. I can still protect you..." She paused for a moment, deep in thought. "Why don't you get on out of those covers so I can take a look at ya, make sure your still all in one piece." She said faking a smile, while patting the top of her bed. I rolled around eventually getting free of the covers, while Daze walked back over and closed the bedroom door. I sat on my haunches in the basket. She walked back over to the bed and put her two front hooves onto it. "Well you coming over hun?" She asked with a cocked head.I looked at her in silence.
"Can you answer me please?" I shook my head in response, and opened my mouth pointing a hoof down it. "well you can at least walk right?" I shook my head again. With a chuckle of disbelief she made her way over to me lifting me up with her two front hooves and began to stand on her hind legs. "I would hate to think what would have happened if I didn't see you before those timberwolves did, must have been fate huh?" She asked me, I only nodded in agreement.
She laid me down on my belly and began examining my wings. "Does it hurt when I put some pressure on them?" She asked leaning a little bit into my wings. I let out a high pitched yelp in response, she instantly backed off. "Okay okay, don't worry I'm not going to touch them anymore; they're definitely broken though." She said as she reached into a night stand that stood next to the bed revealing a roll of white stitched cloth that I had seen nurse Redheart use before and began unraveling the cloth. She then proceeded wrapping my wings towards my body with the fabric. I let out little squeaks of disapproval all the while. "Oh hush, If I don't do this now they'll never get better." That didn't change the fact that I didn't like it. "Okay good, that about does it. Sooo do you have a name?" Lifting myself back up to my haunches I looked at her and shrugged my shoulders. I then remembered the paper that had been stuffed into my basket and pointed to it. Daze followed my gaze and made her way over to the basket. After a few seconds of scavenging through it she found the paper and unfolded it. She read the contents and folded it back up, quickly looking back at my direction. "So this says your name is Derpy Diana Hooves. You're lucky hun, I don't even have a last name but you get both a middle and last!" She said in a teasing voice. I looked at her with a smile. I now had a name, I was Derpy...
My thoughts about my new name ceased when both me and Daze head hoof steps coming up the stairs. Daze began to hyperventilate and shift her head back and forth. As quickly and gently as she could she lifted me up and placed me in my basket. She then proceeded to putting me in the nearby closet. I lifted myself trying to regain my footing from the sudden movement when Daze's hoof held me down. "Stay here and be quiet. Don't make a sound, he can't know your here." Who? The colt from earlier? I thought to myself. Suddenly the door slammed open and made Daze jump. She quickly closed the closet door and turned around to her new guest in the room, all the while leaving her hooves behind her back ensuring the closet would not open.
"30 minutes Daze; you were 30 minutes late..." It was the colt from before.
"you know I didn't mean to Cobblemane." Daze retorted.
"Oh I know." He made his way over to Daze. "You want to be a good mare, and good mare's follow rules." He said caressing her cheek, causing Daze to flinch away from his touch. He became annoyed at her motion and slammed her against the closet door, pinning her neck and face to the door while her front hooves tried pushing back. The slam caused the closet door to just barely open to the point where I could see what was going on. "And good mare's take their punishment!" He said as he spread her hind legs apart and began to haunch himself over her.
"NO! OH CELESTIA PLEASE DON'T!" Daze shouted.
"You forced my hoof DA-" His sentence was cut short by a urgent knock at the door. He paused for a moment in silence... He looked at the door and back at Daze who was now looking at him with fear and tears in her eye's. He looked back at the door and let out a heavy sigh. He grabbed hold of Daze and tossed her onto the bed. He made his way over to the door and opened it revealing another muscular colt.
"Uh huh... and we're sure about this? Alright..." The conversation didn't last more than ten seconds before the second colt left the room and Cobblemane closed the door. He turned back over to Daze and slowly walked over. He now stood a mere inch in front of Daze's face and without warning he struck Daze in the face knocking her over to the side of her bed.
"Why?" Daze whimpered to Cobblemane who was now standing over her body.
"You! You and your little excursion today just got one of my guys killed!" Cobble ended his sentence with a kick into Daze's stomach. My eyes began to water as I saw her get kicked, knowing full well I could do nothing to stop it. "And for what?! That little bitch your hiding in the closet over there?!" He pointed to where I was hidden and my heart sank. "That's right I knew about her the whole time! YOU STUPID... FUCKING... WHORE!" Each insult followed by another blow.
"Cobblemane! What are you doing?!" Said a voice from the now open door. There stood a rather plump pony of mint green coat, purple eyes and white mane/tail.
"But Ms. Lily she's the one that got Stone Killed today!"
"So beating the living daylight out of this poor dear is going to change that?" She said as she began to light a cigarette and walked towards the two. "We treat each and everyone of our ponies as one of our own children... Not a punching bag." She said picking Daze up and brushing her off. "Now this poor dear has been through enough today, so why dont you go down to the kitchen and go grab her some dinner."
"Yes Ms. Lily" Cobble bowed to her before leaving the room.
"I'm sorry Ms. Lily I... I thought Stone would be okay..." Daze said in a hushed voice.
"No no, I'm the one who should be sorry deary." Ms. Lily said as her horn began to glow. "I should have made it clear for you." Not a second later Lily had Daze's hair gripped within her magic. "Now you listen to me you little bitch, cause one more incident like this and I wont hesitate to let Cobblemane have his way with you, are we clear?! I said are WE CLEAR?!" Lily asked again this time taking her cigarette and rubbing the burning ashes from the tip on her cheek.
"YES!!!! Yehehess....." Daze cried aloud, her words becoming muffled from her cries.
"Good... Do not test my patience again." and with that she made her way out of the room. Cobblemane then re-entered into the room holding a bowl in his right hoof.
"Here's your dinner you bitch." Cobblemane snorted as he spat into the gruel which he then presented to Daze, and proceeded to leave. "One more thing. Lily does not know about you're new roommate yet, and I wont tell her... But just know you're going to suffer for keeping her and getting one of my men killed. Mark my words, if you think things have been tough, you have not begun to see the half of it yet." And with that he slammed the door shut. Daze just laid there and curled up into a fetal position, not crying, and not moaning... Just lying there in silence. An hour passed before she moved, lifting herself up from the floor and making her way over to me, stumbling a few times in the process.
"I'm sorry you had to hear that Derpy." Daze said. I withheld any reaction; she didn't need to know that I also saw the whole ordeal. "Well it looks like we're not going to having dinner tonight hun. Don't worry I'll go back into the forest tomorrow and grab you something to eat, since I'm almost certain Cobblemane is going to be cutting our meals in half." She kicked the bowl a little splashing some of the gruel onto the floor. "Why don't we just go onto bed? I know today's been a lot for you, and I'm sure you have tons of things that you want explained... But after tonight, well... I'm not in a very talkative mood. Besides I'm almost certain that it's past your bed time." And with that she lifted me up out of the closet and gently placed me onto her bed.
"I don't know when Sandy will be back. It's best to leave her be for now so I can't have you sleep in her bunk tonight. And since we don't have another one, it looks like you're gonna be bunking with me tonight. Are you okay with that Derpy?" I nodded in response. She was right, I did have tons of things I wanted to know but It was late, and she could explain everything in the morning. She climbed up into the bed and cuddled up against me. She then pulled the covers over us and clicked the lights off. She spoke one last sentence before I fell asleep. "Goodnight Derpy... I'll make sure nothing like that ever happens to you." And with that she gave me a kiss on my forehead and laid her head back down for the night.
Make sure * what** never happens to me?*
The Origin of Derpy: Part One Chapter 4
The light from the moon illuminated the room. The night was as peaceful as one can get. With gentle breezes gliding in through the window, allowing some coolness to circulate through the room. I lifted Daze's hoof off of my shoulder and inched away from her delicately; almost leaning over the edge of the bed I gazed outside watching the night clouds go by. I looked back at Daze who let out a delicate snore with each breath she took. I began to relax and lay back down towards Daze when I began to hear hoofsteps approaching the door of the room. My adrenaline began to pump, all the while I began jerking Daze to get her out of her sleep.
"Ugh... What is it Derpy? Can't it wait until morning?" She replied half awake. I continued jerking her hoof pulling as hard as I could so she would get up. "What! What!" She said lifting herself up. I need not answer her though; the approaching hoofsteps did that for me. She looked back at me. She quicly swung the covers away from the both of us, picked me up and put me back into the closet, closing the door shut. The closet still had a crevice from before, due to how hard Cobblemane had slammed Daze into it, it now had a permanent slant to it. Daze steadied herself looking at the door. What sounded like a whole parade marching towards our door suddenly stopped. Suddenly we could hear the pitter patter of tiny hoofsteps. The door then creaked slowly opening and revealing Sandy standing alone in the well lit hallway. She stood there legs quivering, bruises evident on her face. I looked downwards from her face noticing a strap of leather around her neck studded in gems with a leash running from it.
"S..Sandy?" Daze hesitantly asked.
"Mmmm nope." The hoofsteps from earlier could be heard again revealing Cobblemane and three of his brutes.
"Wha- What have you done to Sandy?"
"Well, seeing as how you have a new roommate. And I was feeling awfully lonely in the evenings, I decided to get a pet" Cobblemane finished his sentence with a tug of the leash; Sandy moved towards Cobblemane and sat obediently next to his side. "Good girl."
"You sick BASTARD! SHE'S JUST A FILLY!" Daze's scream could be heard miles away. Cobblemane gave a signal and his guard's ran to Daze's side, grabbing both her forehooves and lifting them into the air.
"Over there that'll be good" Cobblemane said as he pointed to the wall opposite to the closet. The men nodded and moved Daze over to the wall, the whole time Daze kicked and screamed at the colts. One of Cobblemane's men was a unicorn and placed restraints around both her hooves pinning her to the wall.
"What are you doing! Stop it!"
"I told you before Daze, you forced my hoof in this. There is nothing.... I can do." Cobblemane said with a chuckle. He then let out a short high pitched whistle, Immediately Sandy got up onto the bed. She then faced her backside to Cobblemane and presented her marehood to him.
"San..Sandy, what are you doing?" Daze said choking down her tears.
"Dear me, what are you doing Sandy?" Cobblemane said sarcastically. "Oh that's right, your doing what your told. You see Daze, Sandy is now my little pet. I was shocked, even after bunking with you she broke rather easily. After 2 years of trying to break you, I broke down your roommate in a matter of hours. Pathetic really." He said as he took a huge snort of Sandy's scent.
"YOU SICK TWISTED FUCK! I'M GOING TO FUCKING KILL YOU!" Daze jerked erratically against the wall.
"Not just yet Daze, not... just... yet.... I want you to watch." Cobblemane positioned his lower half over his body behind Sandy, arched his back forward putting both his forehooves at the left and right of Sandy. "Count."
"19" Sandy instantly replied with her head hung low.
"And this will make 20" Cobblemane then proceeded to thrusting himself towards Sandy. I couldn't make out what was happening from my angle, but from what I could see was with each passing moment Daze's body slowly began to sink lower and lower until her restraints were the only thing keeping her up. "Lift her head, and keep her eyes open! I want her to see this!" Cobblemane yelled at the unicorn. The guard's horn shown a bright yellow and began creating an aura over Daze's head forcing her to watch. Cobblemane finished his motions after a few minutes releasing a loud groan. Cobblemane then swatted Sandy off of the bed, knocking her to the side of Daze. "Let her go" Cobblemane ordered his guard's.
Daze fell to the floor and immediately began to console Sandy. "Heel" Cobblemane said. Sandy instantly got up knocking Daze away from her and ran towards Cobblemane, once again taking her side by him. Daze's anger began to increase.
"SANDY IT'S ME! GET AWAY FROM HIM!"There was no response. "SANDY LISTEN TO ME, GET AWAY FROM HIM RIGHT NOW!" Again there was no response.
"Good girl" Cobblemane said as he patted the top of Sandy's head.
"YOU SON OF A BITCH!" Daze yelled as she began to charge at him. She swiped at Cobblemane, only to have her assault evaded. She fell onto her face; leaving herself utterly defenseless. Instantly Cobblemane was right on top of her; In the same position he was just in with Sandy a few seconds ago.
"I warned you didn't I? Thing's were gonna get worse for you. Did you think I was lying when I said that?" Cobblemane whispered into her ear, all the while appearing out of breath. "ANSWER ME!" There was none. "You answer me when your ADDRESSED!" Cobblemane then took his right hoof and slammed it into Daze's exposed hoof. Instantly a snap could be heard.
"NOooOoOOoooo" Daze cried out in agony.
"Then why did you expect anything different?" Cobblemane paused for a moment and began to scan the room. He then lowered his head back to Daze's level. "Where's that cunt?" He said. She wouldn't answer. "Don't make me ask again." Knowing full well Daze wouldn't let him know where I was I leaned my body forward hitting the door. Instantly his ears perked up and he gave a signal to one of his guards to investigate. The guard opened the door revealing me, laying flat out of the floor.
"Derpy no!" Daze cried out to me.
"So the cunt has a name huh? Derpy... how befitting to a cock eyed dipshit" Cobblemane snarled.
"Don't hurt her" Daze pleaded to Cobblemane.
"Oh don't worry I wont lay a hoof on her... After all I can't do anything to her while she watches what I do to you." And with that his hips began to thrust towards Daze. I only stared at Daze as her face lunged forwards with every motion Cobblemane made. She didn't take her eyes off of me the whole time. She began to lip something to me and after the third time I was able to make it out. 'Don't cry' she repeated a dozen times before he had stopped.
Cobblemane lifted himself upwards releasing Daze from his grasp. His three guards walked outside of the room, lingering in the doorway to hold the door for Cobblemane. He then leaned back towards Daze. "This is only the beginning, make no mistake about that." He then proceeded to walk towards the door only to stop in the door way. "During the day Sandy is yours, I have too many duties on my plate to deal with her. During the night however, she is mine." He then exited leaving both Daze and Sandy on the floor. I looked over to the window and began to see the first glimmers of daylight. Both Daze and Sandy just laid there with doll's eye's, staring off into space.
Daze laid a few feet from where I laid. I began to position my hooves under me and tried lifting myself upwards. I fully stretched my legs and fell down. I repeated the process and began to lift myself once more, slower than last time. I lifted myself fully; my legs now fully extended I began to take my first steps. My leg's wobbled under my weight; every couple of feet falling down mid way to the floor, I would lift myself back up to a upright position. I was determined to reach Daze and Sandy, to ensure that they both were alright. I reached Daze after a few minutes of attempts. I placed my hoof on her cheek, instantly snapping her out of her state. She took her good hoof and pushed mine towards her cheek and leaned inwards into my hoof, closing her eyes to savor the embrace.
"Thank you Derpy, I'm alright" Said Daze as she lifted herself up opening her eyes, her right hoof cringed towards her body; kept off of the ground as not to add anymore pain. She then turned to Sandy, and began limping her way over to her. I followed Daze with a watchful eye, making sure she did not suddenly fall. Although it was her front hoof where she was hurt, her limp was not from the front. We reached Sandy and she fell down onto the floor next to her and began to tear up.
"I'm so sorry Sandy... all of this... I'm sorry for everything. It was the very thing I wanted to protect you from... I.. I didn't know he would do this to you."
"20 times...." Sandy spoke, Daze remained silent. "I was raped 20 times on my birthday. My virginity ripped from me, never to return. And your sorry?" She turned her head towards Daze as she finished the sentence. "I'M THAT PIG'S PET! AND YOUR SORRY!?"
"Sandy.. I...I don't know what to say... There's nothing I can say."
"Then don't say anything..." Sandy snapped back as she got up and walked out the door of the room slamming it behind her. We didn't hear any steps, just sobbing on the other side.
Daze sighed and looked over to me. "I suppose this is as good as time as any to explain everything to you."
She went into graphic detail about all that went on here. She explained how no one really knew about the orphanage, since it was miles away from any civilization. How no one could escape, or lash back in order to free themselves from here due to Cobblemane. How she and Sandy had caught the eye of Cobblemane and became his sex puppets, to use whenever he deemed fit. She told me her age (fourteen) and Sandy's (twelve), how they both were born into the orphanage and were the only family they've ever known. What struck me most is when she talked about the public displays of discipline that Cobblemane took much pride in. Every time somepony would burst out; Cobblemane would make a special example out of them, by beating them into a bloody pulp. Sometimes killing them, sometimes just barely letting them live. She didn't go into any detail about Ms. Lily though, no one truly knew about her or what she did. Everyday she would remain within her dorm and not leave it once. The only thing people knew was some filly's that entered that room, sometimes never came out.The longer she went on, the more my heart sank. After a few hours of describing the horrors and what this whole place meant she turned away from me.
"Pack up your thing's, we're going to go for a walk." She said in a dead tone. I wobbled myself up and gathered my things, then sat in my basket. "Hide under your cover's again, I'll say when it's okay to come out again alright?" I obliged by wrapping myself up again and hiding. She picked me up and we exited the room, as we walked into the hallway outside of the room, we could see Sandy lying there, curled up into a ball. Daze didn't pause or say a word to her. She just continued walking; down the staircase, through the filly hallway, and out into Zone 1. We reached the entrance of the fence where one of Cobblemane's guard's stood. Daze stood in front of him as he began to open the gate. Daze walked out into the 'acre' and then into the Everfree forest. A shadow on the ground could be seen following us as we first entered the forest. Daze went a couple yards into the forest before setting my basket down.
"You can come out now" She said as she started lifting my covers herself. She looked down to the ground and back at me. "I can't bare it Derpy... Seeing how Sandy is, I... I just can't take it. I thought" She took a big inhale "I thought I would be able to protect her... But i know now that, that's not the case. I know how she feels. Because she feels what I have been feeling for years now. I've become numb to Cobblemane by now... But seeing how she was... I mean she's his pet for Luna sake! I've never felt so helpless In all my life. That's why I need you to leave." My jaw lowered in shock at the sentence. "She needs my help Derpy, and I can't help her. There's no way that I can help you too. I just can't protect the both of you." She began looking away from me and tears began to streak down her face. "Since you figured out how to walk, I need you to get as far away from here as possible." And with that she lifted herself up and began walking back towards the orphanage. Without hesitation I lunged forward and grabbed her hind legs. Her head instantly perked up and she jerked her head back at me. "Derpy let go!" She cried. I shook my head back at her, tears and determination filled within my eyes. She may not be able to protect me, but I knew how helpless one would feel when you weren't in control of your own life, I knew I couldn't just leave her and Sandy."Derpy I'm not going to ask again!" This time she shook her legs trying to wiggle herself free of me, but I only increased my grasp on her. "DON'T YOU GET IT I'M TRYING TO PROTECT YOU!" Daze said hysterically. I dug my head into her cutie mark and wouldn't let go; I knew now what I was getting myself into, with the orphanage and all it's dangers, but it didn't matter I needed to help her and Sandy. Her whole body became jelly as she fell to the floor, crying and screaming to me.
"I CAN'T DO IT DERPY, DON'T FORCE ME TO!" she buried her face in her hooves. I released my grip on her. I got up and began to cuddle by her side, trying my best to console her. "Your going to suffer, I don't want that; you know that right?" Her eye's now deadlocked with mine. I nodded a yes. "Then why wont you leave?" she asked, her eyes still streaming tears down her face. I pointed my hoof back at her. Her eyes became obvious with shock; shock that I would not leave the orphanage because of her. She took a moment and processed the situation and my actions. "you know I won't be able to protect you." I nodded a yes. "You know the things that await you if you were to come back with me." I nodded again. "And that doesn't bother you?" I shook my head for a no. She sat there for a moment and began to shake her head up and down; with each nod increasing her speed."Your sure you want to go through with this?" I nodded a yes back at her. "Alright then, well... we better go get us some food for tonight" she said with a forced smile of worry and joy on her face; as she pointed deeper in the forest.
A few hours later
Daze snuck me back in to the orphanage. I laid higher in my basket due to the berries we had gathered in the forest for dinner... We reached the staircase that led up to our room snd Daze set me down at the base.
"We're out of the line of sight of anypony, so why don't you take up the basket to our room while I go get some more food from the kitchen and we'll have ourselves a feast." she said in a smile as she ruffled my hair. I nodded a yes and began up the stairs, the basket in my mouth as Daze walked away from the staircase leaving my view. I ran up the stairs and opened the door; causing my heart to skip a beat from the site that I saw. I dropped the basket from my mouth as I looked upon Sandy who stood ontop of a stool with her leash pinned up to the top of the cieling. She didn't turn back towards me, instead she just kicked the stool below her and began to strangle herself. Without hesitation I sprinted over towards her,forcing my back to reach her hind legs.
"What are you doing!? Let me die!" Sandy pleaded. I shook my head back and forth, flinging tears out from my eyes. "LEAVE ME ALONE! I WANT TO DIE, I DON'T WANT TO LIVE IN THIS WORLD ANYMORE!" She screamed at me as she raised her hind legs higher, evading the platform of my back. My feelings within began to swelter.
"No!" I yelped... I spoke... I actually spoke... Sandy stopped her squirming. I lifted my head to look at hers; she did the same and began looking down upon me. My first words startling the both of us, I knew Sandy hadn't known me for more than a day but this was the first time she had heard me speak. "S...Sandy... Sister" I was able to stutter out. I was still getting use to speaking so I could not convey my message in whole to her at the time. I wanted to say 'Your my sister now Sandy, I wont let you do this to yourself! Not now, not ever!". All and all though she got the message and set her hind legs back onto my back, haulting her hanging. She then removed the collar from her neck. My body now feeling the full weight of her body, collapsed causing the both of us to fall to the ground. We both got back up to her haunches looking at one another.
"wha-what did you just say?"
"San- Your.. My sister. Don't die. Please!" I just began repeating please over and over again after that sentence, closing my eyes; I couldn't bare looking at her anymore. My repetative chanting was silenced when I felt two hooves wrap around me. I opened my eye's shocked to see Sandy hugging me.
"I dont wanna die...." Sandy whispered to me softly as she tightened her hold on me. "I never wanted to die... I just didn't see any other way..."
I returned the hug, comforting her the best I knew how. A few minutes later Daze entered the room, catching us in full view of our hug. Sandy loosened her grip and I did the same. She wiped her face clear of any tears, looked towards Daze and began to smile.
"What in Equestria happened?"
"My sister saved my life." Sandy responded choking herself up. She then pointed to the collar and leash that hung above. Daze quickly put two and two together. Sandy then got up; and walked towards Daze. She stood in front of her for a moment then rubbed her head against Daze's chest, nestling within her.
"Your not dead to me Daze... I'm sorry you I ever said that to you.
Astonished, Daze took a moment, then leaned her head around Sandy. "No, I should be the one to apologize, I should have warned you... I should have... I don't know, we could have done something to prevent it maybe.. I.. I don't know. I'm sorry for the pain I caused you Sandy, Luna know's I never wanted any of this for you." Daze began to weep and console her.
*clap clap clap*
"Excellent performance tonight girl's, truly marvelous... But, I'm afraid both me and Sandy won't be able to stay for the after party tonight." Cobblemane sounded off in the most sophisticated tone he could muster. He leaned in the now open doorway.
"NO!" Both me and Daze shouted off in unison while Sandy remained quiet.
"Do you have any idea what your doing to her!? You're not goin-" Daze's sentence was cut short form her noticing Sandy getting up. She approached me and gave me a quick hug then whispered in me ear.
"Don't worry, I'll be fin. Beside's we'll see each other again tomorrow right?" she said with a forced smile. I only nodded, my mouthung open and my eye's in shock. She then proceeded to do the same with Daze, only she began to protest.
"Sandy what a you saying!? You can't be serious!" Sandy only nodded; she then took her place by Cobblemane.
"I love you both" And with that Cobblemane slammed the door shut. We remained in the dark until both sets of hoofsteps were gone... I love you too Sandy.
About 10 miles away in Manehatten Nurse Redheart lay in her bed, back arched forward leaning over a picture of Derpy.
"I'll find you some day Derpy, I swear it." A tear fell from her chin onto the photo. She then put the encased photo back onto her night stand that stood next to her bed; rolled over and closed her eye's. "I swear it."
The Origin of Derpy: Part 1 Chapter 5
The sun returned, along with Sandy. The day began like any normal day would; we ate breakfast, freshened up and I even got to take my first shower. None of us spoke of last night though, none of us wanted to. Without ever being mentioned once, it became a new unspoken rule that none of us would speak of what Cobblemane or Ms. Lily for that matter, ever do to us. As time progressed from hours, to days, to weeks and even months things remained the same... Everyday we would be left alone, Daze would go out into the Acre then the Everfree forest and gather food for all of us. She would return home we would eat and then Cobblemane would show up. Every night he assaulted Daze and Sandy always forcing me to watch, then he would take Sandy away from us until morning. As bad as it sounds, we had gotten us to the constant visits from him, and even though none of us wanted him to show up; we would endure it.
Around the seventh month Sandy began to change, at some points both me and Daze would notice that she was practically glowing. Her gut began to expand as well, when we would ask her about it she would brush it off with a simple "Oh I've just been eating too much food is all." with a chuckle every time. Daze wouldn't believe her but never questioned it. She was pregnate... That much was evident... Things remained uneventful until one day Daze busted into the room, hyperventilating and a smile plastered on her face.
"We're getting adopted!"
Earlier that day on the outskirts of Manehatten.
"Excuse me, have you seen this filly?" The colt shook his head. "Excuse me, have you seen this filly?" The mare shook her head. I fell down to my haunches and hung my head down low.
"Excuse me Ms. have you lost your child?"
"Not exactly, but I am trying to find a missing child." I replied lifting my head up revealing a Colt of orange coat and dirty green hair.
"Well if your looking for a filly I wouldn't suggest looking here. The lawmakers of Manehatten passed a bill about 10 years ago. We here had an abundance of homeless filly's, why I havn't the slightest... They just kind of showed up over night. Anyway's the bill enlisted the help of a nearby orphanage to rescue them off the street, give them a home, and possibly some hope. If you think she may have ended up there I can tell you where it is Ms...?"
"REALLY?! That'd be great!" I said as I sprung up, new hope filled me that I may find her. "Oh and you can call me Ms. Redheart, it's nice to meet you Mr..."
"You can just call me Maverick." He then proceeded telling me the whereabouts of said orphanage. "Then you just follow that stream until you reach a dirt path, that'll lead you out into a clearing, from there you should be able to find where the orphanage is."
"Thank you so so so so so so so so so much!!!!" I said shaking his hoof. After I said goodbye I was on my way towards the Everfree forest.

"What do you mean we're getting adopted?!" Both me and Sandy shouted.
"No one in Zone 2 ever gets adopted!" Sandy yelped.
"That's just it, this instance is completely different!"

I followed Maverick's directions and eventually reached the river he talked about that leaded into the forest. After about 20 minutes of following it, I stumbled upon a clearing covered by willows every which way you would look. I saw a Mare with a gray wool cloak over her head picking berries off from a nearby bush.
"Excuse me" I called out.
She glanced at me, turned around and began to bolt off.
"Wait! I just wanna know if you've seen this filly!" I screamed. She stopped in her tracks. She looked back at me revealing her Cyan eyes. "I... Jus..... wante.... to know.... have you... seen this filly..." I said, with a lack of breath from me sprinting towards her to catch up. I held the picture of Derpy up from when she was still in her incubator. Her eye's grew wide, her basket fell down to the floor; she jumped towards me wrapping me in a hug.

"YOU MET MS. REDHEART!?" I screamed aloud.
"Mmhmm, from what she tells me she's been looking for you the night you went missing."

"I... uhh, take that as a yes?" I asked, surprised at the mare's actions.
"Yes yes! I know her. She's been living with me!" She cried, sending my heart a flutter.
"SHE HAS!? WHERE IS SHE!?" Her over the top enthusiasm deflated with that sentence.
"Your going to wanna sit down..." Worry befell me as she began to talk.
A few hours later, the two mare's had shared both of their stories
Daze's graphic detailing of the horror's within the orphanage almost made me up chuck.
"Why are we still even here?! Let's get her out of there!" I said as I lifted myself up, Daze just continued to sit.
"I'm sorry, I didn't see any other options at the time.. I just wanted to make sure she lived." I wrapped my hooves around her neck.
"It's okay, you did what you thought was right, I don't blame you... In fact I thank you for saving her life." She began to sob into my shoulder. "That's it let it all out, you don't have to be strong anymore."

"She's down in the adoption office filling out the paperwork right now!"
"How?! we're in zone 2, we can't be adopted." Said Sandy.
"That's just it! She's filling out the paperwork for me now, because I was in Zone 1 at the time. Ms. Lily or Cobblemane can't deny her because she know's I exist! That's why we're going to bring you both to Zone 1 so she can see you two as well!"
"Pretty clever Daze, pretty clever indeed. ." Cobblemane sounded off, walking into the room and taking his place next to Sandy."I'm afraid that's not going to happen... Not for Sandy atleast." He paused for a moment. "Nooo I think I'll just hang onto your friend for a little while longer... You can take that dumb bitch though, she's worthless anyways." He said as he pointed to me. Silence befell the room as our one glimmer of hope diminished with a single instant.
"No..." Sandy said.
"What was that?"
"I said no! I'M NOT GOING TO BE DENIED A BETTER LIFE BECAUSE OF YOU!" Sandy screamed as she smacked Cobblemane across his cheek. He slowly turned his head around, his eye's set a blaze with fury as he looked upon Sandy.
"Alright Sandy..."He said in a calm voice. "Well, if your going to be like that. THEN I THINK IT'S TIME I MADE AN EXAMPLE OUT OF YOU!" Cobblemane yelled as he grabbed Sandy by her hoof and dragged her out of the room. Both me and Daze tried stopping him by jumping onto Sandy to slow or halt his leave, but he just kicked us off of him. We both got up from the hit, only to see Cobblemane leave.
"Derpy, you stay here! I'm going to get Ms. Redheart!" Daze said as she got back up. I nodded in response. Daze took off out of the room and sprinted down the stairs.
I was left alone again...

I knew that being made an example of was... He was going to hang Sandy... I had to hurry to Ms. Redheart. I made it down the stairs, through the hallway, and out into Zone 1. I turned my direction to Ms. Lily's office where Ms. Redheart was filling out my paperwork. I slammed open the door, revealing only Redheart sitting there with a shocked expression on her face; my sudden burst alarming her.
"Where's Ms. Lily!?"
"She's in the back, why?"
"Sandy's about to be hung." Ms. Redheart's eye's grew huge.
"What are you talking about?!"
"Cobblemane ws going to stop you from adopting her, she talked back and hit him... Now he's going to kill her!" I cried.
"We have to go stop them!" Redheart said as she jumped out of the seat. I stopped her. "What are you doing!?"
"You wont make it past the hallway, get the police, try convincing them that this place exists and that this is happening" I only said convince because Ms. Lily is reigned as a saint, the one that has saves hundred's of little filly's lives... Who would believe her that she wasn't who she really seemed, and was really a monster. Redheart nodded in response.
"What are you going to do?"
"I'm going to stop him for as long as I can."
"And Derpy?!"
"She's safe, I told her to stay put in the room"
"I'll be as quick as possible." And with that she was gone out the door, out of the compound and back into the forest. I did the same and ran out of the room. I made my way back through the hallway and went right back into another hallway, this one marked 'Mares/Colts'. I was blinded by the glare of the afternoon sun as I exited the hallway, the sun causing me to raise a hoof above my eye's. After my eye's had adjusted to the light, I saw the sight I didn't want to see, all the other ponies forced to work within the mine's had already gathered... Cobblemane wouldn't do this without a crowd. I shoved my way through everyone getting jeers and hits from everyone as I made my way towards the circular opening in the middle of all of this. There stood the gallows, next to it Cobblemane; he stood over Sandy's body which laid in a pool of her own blood.
"Oh Celestia no..." I whispered to myself in disbelief. Sandy moved slightly on the ground. "Thank Luna... I'm not too late."

I ran faster than I had ever ran in my life. Constantly almost tripping over objects in the forest. From the dirt road to the willow opening and back onto the path of the river... In a fraction of the time that it took me to get to the orphanage I was already out of the forest, back on the outskirts of Manehatten.
"Just hang on girl's... Help's on the way."
The Origin of Derpy: Part 1 Chapter 6
I charged into the doors of the police station knocking them open; slamming them against the wall. The room filled with inquisitive faces, all of which looked at me. The police station was a light brown with roman styled pillars for structural support. At the center of the station stood a tall booth were a policecolt sat behind. To the left of me were the cells filled with prisoners, where as the right was a waiting/questioing area where victims and suspects were being talked to by the police.
"Help! I need help!" I screamed, not at anyone in particular... I just needed somepony, anypony at all. A policecolt approached me.
"Hold on there missy, what's got you all in a fit?" He said not understanding the full gravity of the situation.
"Back at the orphanage.... A little filly, she's going to be hung." I said catching my breath.
"Ms. Lily's orphanage?" He asked looking as if I were loopy.
"Yes!"
"Why, there isn't a nicer place around here, nor kinder soul than her. And you say that there's going to be a hanging...? Tell ya what, why don't you go back home, lay down and come back when whatever your on wears off." He said talking down to me, as if I were out of my mind. He put his hoof to my shoulder, and I swatted back at him.
"Damnit listen to me! THERE IS GOING TO BE A HANGING!" All the police colt's and mare's began to laugh at me. Even the prisoners began to join in on laughing at me from my ridiculous statement.
"Shut up! The lot of you." A familiar voice sounded off. "Now what's this about a hanging?" said a colt exiting from the chief of police's office that was hidden away in the corner of the station.
"Maverick!" I cried, almost in tears.
"Oh hello again Ms Redheart, it's nice to see y-"
"No time! I need you to come with me! There's going to be a hanging at Ms. Lily's orphanage!" I interrupted him. He was taken back from my sentence, it was certainly not something he was expecting to hear.
"Are you sure about this?" He said with uncertainty in his voice. I approached him putting both my hooves on his shoulders.
"I need you to trust me. My daughter and her friends are in danger."
".....Alright, if your certain about this... I'll bring a squad over there."
"Thank you... Luna thank you so much" I began to weep as I embraced the colt that may very well be saving my daughter.
"Alright, squad 1 suit up and get ready to roll!" He shouted; immediately five police colt/mare's saluted and began prepping.

I sat on my haunches within the room, with both excitement and gloom within myself. On one hoof I was happy Redheart had found me, on the other I was dreading what was becoming of Sandy.
I got up and walked to the edge of the room where the window was. I took a look out noticing a rather large crowd down below, within Zone 2's mine entrance. The constant of not knowing what was happening was driving me insane. I began to pace back and forth within the room trying to take my mind off of what may or may not be happening. With each passing of the window I looked out towards the crowd...
"Daze and Sandy may be down there...." I began thinking aloud. "They may need my help.... But I was told to sta...... No i'm going to help them! They need me!" And with that I bolted out of the room, running down the stairs.
I made it to the end of the stairwell that led out towards the hallway's. I poked my head out and saw there were no guard's at their post, feeling uneasy about no one being there I looked around to confirm that no one was around. After I felt re-assured that no one was there I made my way towards the Colt/Mare hallway.

I bolted out of the crowd, heading directly towards Cobblemane. He saw my charge and took action, instantly bolting himself up into the air. He hung there for only a moment then with all his force slammed back down at me, knocking me face first into the mud. I was pinned to the ground, my broken hoof exposed and being stomped on by Cobblemane's hind hoof.
"Looky what we got hear... A hero!" He said as he flared his hooves upwards, displaying himself in triumph. Everypony else just began to laugh at my feeble attempt to save Sandy. "Did you really think a pathetic worm like yourself could ever best me?" He asked in a reassured tone. I didn't care what he had to say... as long as his attention was on me and not Sandy.
I watched as Sandy rolled over onto her back, her front completely drenched within her own blood, and broken bones evident throughout her body. Without warning she began to breath heavily and moan loudly as she clenched her stomach. Oh Celestia.... THE BABIES COMING!

"Okay everyone ready? Then let's move out! Redheart you lead the way, the rest will follow." Maverick announced. All the colt's and mare's were now dressed in armored black suits, with arsenals at all sides. They all turned to face me, awaiting my order.
"Alright, this way everypony!" We began to head to the outskirts of town back into the forest. Practically knocking everypony within the streets out of the way. Within minutes we reached the entrance of the Everfree forest. Once we had re-entered the forest, Maverick began to speed up taking his place along side me.
"So is what you say true?"
"Of course it is. I just wish it wasn't." He paused in his thoughts for a moment before he began speaking once more.
"Back at the station... I heard you say your daughter was in danger; What's your daughter doing at the orphanage?"
"It's a long story..." I said as I thought back to that faithful night. "Let's just focus on the job at hand, please."
"I'm sorry I just don't fully comprehend what your saying"
"She's... She's not mine but she is." His face became more puzzled. "I'm her surrogate mother." His confusion grew on his face, but he decided not to pry at me.
"I see... EVERYONE DOUBLE TIME!" Maverick shouted with determination evident within his voice. The rest of the squad picked up there pace leaving me in the dust. Maverick stood behind an extra second before rejoining his squadron. "We'll save them, don't worry."

I was just at the hallway entrance when I felt a force hold me back, causing me to fall to the floor. I looked back and saw a glow consuming the end of my tail.
"And where do we think we're going?" It was Ms. Lily. Somehow I hadn't seen her when I scouted the area. Her magic now completely engulfing my tail making it impossible for me to make my exit. "My my, I only thought Cobblemane was bluffing. I did not think of Daze to be so foolish to bring a filly back here... Then again, she was stupid enough to think she could protect Sandy. That poor naive girl. So what is your name?" She asked looking down upon me. I did not answer; I instead looked outwards towards the hallway just barely making out the backsides of the crowd out in Zone 2. Ms. lily put her hoof under my chin and turned my head back to hers. "Deary this can go one of two ways. One you tell me your name, or two I make you scream out your name... I much rather you choose the first one, I rather not get my hooves dirty."
"Derpy..." I said in a low muttered tone.
"Very well... Derpy... Did Daze ever tell you as to why no one ever see's me around my compound?" I shook my head in response. "It's for a number of reasons, but this one is my favorite" She said as she grinned at me with a devious smile. I looked up and her horn began to shine brighter than when she had my tail in her spell. A aura engulfed both of us now. My sight became blurry as all the images I saw were becoming more and more wavy. Within a few moments a sudden flash erupted and we were no longer within the aura.... we were no longer near the hallway either. Instead we were within a deep damp room, the dim lights flickering on and off as a foul smell found it's way up my nostrils. I put my hooves to my nose to stop the smell. Ms. Lily did the opposite, she embraced it and took a large inhale.
"Ahhh... Smell it Derpy. The smell is still fresh." She said as she exhaled
"What smell is this..?" I asked hesitantly.
"I'll show you." And with that Ms. Lily lit up the entire room, powering the lights with her magic. What she revealed was all too horrific. Rows and rows of metal slabs with disected bodies on them, pouring out their blood and entrails into buckets below each table. I instantly fell to the floor and threw up. "Mmmm yes, the sight is too great for words. You see Derpy, most people think I have the mine for riches, because I'm greedy and want the gems for myself. That is not the case, you see mining has some of the most occupational hazards of any job. Once somepony accidentally harms themselves, they're taken here, and I deem wether or not they're able to continue working. If they are I heal them and send them on their way. If not, well... They never leave. As for the gems, we sell them. Its a sure fire way to make sure that we receive no government aid, thus allowing us to continue our operations without worry of any royal guard's coming our way to investigate the compound.
"Why would you do this?"
"You still don't understand do you? It's very simple you see. We are disgusting creatures, we are flawed, horrid designs of our creator... I seek to perfect that which needs it."
"So all... all these.. Pon-"
"Abominations is the correct term, and yes they were my little experiments." She said making her way towards me all the while looking at the metal slabs."All those wasted lives, yet not wasted. No they were a part of the greater good. A noble yet necessary sacrifice to serve for all of us." She said as she took away her attention of the dead bodies to face me."Now that you know" She jumped towards me wrapping her hooves around me, forcing me into a headlock. She then used her magic to open my eyelids to their full extent and then some. "And now that you know... Your going to be my newest test subject." She said as she licked her lips apart. "Let's start with those eyes. shall we?"
"No!" I screamed and thrashed around in her arms
"Oh good, I love it when they got a little fight in them" She then encased me in another aura pinning me on an empty, blood stained slab and put the leather restraints on all four of my hooves.
"Celstia no PLEASE DON'T DO THIS TO ME!" I pleaded
"Let's begin shall we?" She stated as she lifted an unknown device up into the air.

"Get up!" Cobblemane demanded. I just laid there, eye's locked onto Sandy as her cries became louder. "Get up! Now!" Cobblemane kicked me, rolling me over to Sandy's side. I looked at her and she at me. I crawled closer to her and began whispering to her.
"It's okay i'll get you through this." She only shook her head at me, closing her eyes that were beginning to tear up. Her bottom lip began to quiver and she jerked her head away from me. "Don't you dare give up on me!" I scolded at her as I gripped her hoof. "We will get you out of here, we will be alright!" My talking was cut short by Cobblemane kicking me once again, knocking me to the edge of the mine entrance that was a straight down pillar into an abyss. He took a moment to slowly lower his leg down from his kick and began walking towards me on his hind legs, his wings completely unfurled.
"Don't you see? Your helpless! You wont be able to save her!" He said as he placed a hoof onto my head as I struggled to stay outside of the mines. "You cant even help yourself."He lifted his hooves above his head forming a crescent shape; He began to look onto the crowd that had formed around us. They all cheered at what they were witnessing, an over whelming sense of approval from everypony. And with that he looked down at me. "Any last words?" I took one last look at Sandy, all the thoughts of what would and could have been flowed through my mind in an instant. The possible life we could have had... me... Sandy... Derpy... Redheart... The freedom we could have tasted all washed away in an instant. I lifted my gaze from her and uttered my final words.
"Burn in hell"
"Not before you my dear." And with that he pushed me down the mine.
As I fell I heard one last shriek from Sandy.
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
I let go of reality. Releasing every emotion and sense that I was feeling or had ever felt. I then closed my eye's and began waiting for my innevitable demise.
Chapter Seven: Revolution
The Origin of Derpy: Part 1 Chapter 7
Only a few seconds passed before I felt something slam against my back. My eye's snapped open, only to have them involuntarily snapped back shut by another slam to my back, and one more after that. I continued to clench my eye's shut for a few moments more. Nothing happened though. I creeped one of my eyes open while keeping one shut, still half prepared for another impact. I looked around me... Everything was still, no blurry images of me falling. No breeze rushing through my hair as I plummeted to my demise. I looked to what I now laid on and saw the wooden staircase that ponies that were forced to work within Zone 2 use to go down the mine shaft. I looked back up and saw 2 levels of the stairwell broken from where I had hit it. Dumbfounded, and lost for words from what had just happened, I fell backwards and began to laugh hysterically. My laughing was cut short from the three pains shooting from my wings, my broken hoof and my back. I jerked my head back up, clenching my teeth and bringing my one good hoof to my back as to bring some relief. I looked back up to the exit of the mine, and heard the shrieks of Sandy and the jeers of the onlookers. I lowered my head and glared at the exit. Regaining myself I rolled over onto my belly and slowly began to lift myself up. I stumbled a few times before I was able to stand and begin my way back up the stairwell. As I limped my way back up I muttered to myself.
"Heh... not today you son of a bitch..."

"Wha...What is that thing?" I said in complete fear as Lily held it up on her shoulders. The device Lily held was a black cylinder, narrowed at the end of it. A glass case on top of it, and a metal grip at the bottom back of it. She waved it around a little as she began to speak to me.
"Oh this old thing? Well, you see Derpy. Your not the first foal to come to my orphanage with eyes of your kind, no there have been others... None quite as bad as yours though. You see through my research I had heard many tales and rumors, but none fascinated me more than directive energy, otherwise known as a laser. I read how lasers can correct said eyes when used properly. At first I thought not only lasers were a fairy tale but being able to repair a eye with them, it sounded even more absurd! Then I began to look deeper into the subject, I discovered unicorns can actually harness their energy into diamonds. The forced direct lighting from the magic into the diamond causes a focused amount of energy, thus creating a laser."
"But I thought unicorns can already create lasers." I said trying to gain some more time.
"What you saw was indeed a direct-ish current from a unicorn, but far too large in mass and too indirect to have enough effect on anything. Very simply put, without the assistance of a diamond a unicorn even as powerful as Celestia or Luna can not harness that which is a laser." She said as she raised a pristine ruby up into the air, then placing it into the holding chamber of the device. I knew that in only seconds she would be 'fixing' my eyes. I had to think of something fast... I had to stall her for as long as I could.
"So there were others?" I asked
"Yes well-" She said as she lowered the device and began to ramble on once more. I just needed to keep this up for as long as I could... Maybe someone will come.

Thee already unbearable pain was increasing, with each passing moment another surge of pain poured over my entire body, but no part more so than my womb. As the moments passed it twisted inwards and outwards, causing my body to have spasms.. Somehow attempting to relieve the pain I was in. I knew that the baby was coming, that much was for certain. I jerked my head back over to the crowd of slaves that had been riled up from Cobblemane kicking my sister into the abyss of the mine. I looked back over at Cobblemane; He too was looking at me with a smile... A devious, proud, spiteful smile.
"Well now. That takes care of her... NOW ONTO THE MAIN ATTRACTION!" He shouted, once again flaring his arms upwards to rile up the crowd.
I was in no condition to fight back, or even stand on my own. I could barely make a sound other than the more and more constant screaming. I had to try though.
"Listen to me! Everypony! Is this what yo--arhhhHHHh-u want!? Which one of you are next!? You?!" I pointed into the crowd, not at anypony in particular, I just needed to get my point through to them. Cobblemane saw what I was doing; he only chuckled. "Today it's me Daze and my baby! What of tomorrow?! DO YOU THINK ANY OF YOU ARE SAFE FROM HIM!? SAFE FROM LI-AHH-LY!?"
The once riled crowd began to die down. My words were making an impact, they were quieting down to hear, and hopefully ponder on what I was speaking. Cobblemane became nervous, his eyes became beaded as a sweat broke from his brow. He looked back and forth as he saw the faces of ponder turning into anger.
"ENOUGH!" He shouted as he pressed his hind hoof onto my neck, ceasing my speech. Instantly the crowd looked away, wether it was to the clouds or the the earth they no longer wanted to see the sight. Their morale once again shattered. "See Sandy? Nothing you can do now to save yourself... This is the endgame." He stated as he pulled my hair and began dragging me to the gallows. I began to silently weep as I saw the crowd that was once for my demise, show sympathy for me. They knew what I spoke was the truth... They were next...

"No! She is my daughter, I wasn't there for her a while back... I'm not going to feel that helpless feeling again!" Maverick caught off from my stern tone towards him. All the while he understood why and nodded his head in response.
"Fine your coming with me then, I don't want you to get hurt after all." I agreed and we picked up the pace. A few moments later we broke through the forest and into the 'Acre' that lead up to the orphanage. Just a little while longer girl's.

I brushed up against the side of the dirt wall of the mine as I made my way back up, that is until I came onto the first gap between me and Sandy. I began to estimate how far I was going to be able to jump. No matter how hard I tried to think of a way to get to the other side It all ended up the same, I wouldn't be able to make it. I looked back at my half bandaged wings, they cringed at the very idea of me even trying to use them. I looked down at my broken hoof, then back at my wings. I took some time to think about my situation and came to a conclusion. I backed myself up about ten feet and unwrapped my wings from their bandages. I took a heavy sigh and began to sprint as fast as I could with a limp. I then jumped up off of the ledge and unfurled my wings trying to gain as much lift as possible. The pain from my wings was excruciating and almost as quickly as they unfurled they snapped back shut. I fell onto my side as I landed on the opposite side of the stairwell. I took a moment and picked myself up again.
"Alright... One more to go..." I made my way up and repeated the process, this time I landed on the edge. My weight caused the ledge to creek and eventually break causing me to scurry on the ground trying to escape the fall. After the crumbling had subsided I gathered myself up again and began to walk up the stairwell.
I was near the top of the entrance now and I took notice of a pickax leaning up against the wall.It must have been left by one of the colt's that worked the mines, typically Cobblemane would make sure all the equipment was put back; but with the sudden gathering up there, one of the ax's must have been forgotten about. I got up on my hind legs, my front right cringing towards my body as my left one took hold of the ax and began dragging it up with me. I slowly poked my head up from the hole and saw a quiet crowd looking at the gallows; I slowly turned my head around and saw what they saw. Cobblemane and Sandy were on stage. A trail of blood followed Sandy wherever she went as she was dragged to the middle of the stage. I turned back to the crowd and took a closer look, I could see them... Almost crying from what they were witnessing. I looked down at the pick ax and tightened my grip on it and proceeded slowly towards Cobblemane as he began addressing the crowd once more.
"Is this not better?! Is this not order?!" He shouted.
Everypony in the crowd noticed me instantly as I limped my way out of the hole. No one took more than a momentary glance, they kept their focus on Sandy and Cobblemane. I made my way behind Cobblemane's line of sight and began heading towards the back entrance stairs to the gallows. After a few moments I had reached the stairs and took a position behind them, I had to wait for the right moment...
"This is what happens when you disobey me..." He sounded off in a quiet voice as he took a brown wool bag off of the gallows floor and wrapped it over Sandy's head. He then lowered the noose that hung above Sandy and tied it around her neck. She couldn't protest, she could only cry out in agony from the birth. Cobblemane then stepped to the right edge of the gallows where the lever to lower Sandy stood.
"Let this be a lesson to all of you!" Shit! I didn't have an opportunity . Cobblemane then began reaching for the lever. I began to lift myself up, hopefully try and stop him... But I knew it was a feeble attempt... Until I heard a voice sound off.
"No!" Cobblemane froze. As did I.
"What?!" He said as he moved his hoof away from the lever. "WHO THE FUCK SAID THAT?!" His voice engulfed with anger and hatred at that one voice. Another voice sounded off.
"NO!" Then another voice sounded off... then another, all of them a different mare, a different colt... Their words picked up speed and began to chant in unison.
"Silence all of you! I AM THE LAW OF THE LAND, SILENCE!" This was it... this was my chance. I took careful steps as I limped my way up all the while dragging the pick. The chanting became louder and louder, completely silencing my approach towards Cobblemane as he screamed as flared his hooves to the crowd the present his dominance over them. I was now a mere three feet from where he stood. And as abruptly as the chanting had started it had ceased all at once.
"YOU WILL OB-" Cutting his sentence short; Sensing that something was a miss Cobblemane turned his head around. His blood instantly ran cold as he saw me... the bitch... the whore... his pet... With an ax all wound up at him.
"D..Da-" I unleashed the ax as soon as he began to speak my name, unleashing all the hate and rage that had been pent up from years of torment and abuse. All of my emotion's were set free with that one swing. The ax landed right into his eye and bursted out behind his head, revealing the blood and brains of the monster... I let go of the ax and my body limped downwards, my legs barely able to support my weight. Cobblemane's body stood there... Motionless for a few moments before falling onto his knee's then falling to his right, falling off of the gallows... I let out and exhausted smile as I caught my breath.
"Fuck you..." I then collapsed.

"And then I said oatmeal are you crazy? But I digress..." Ms. Lily had finished her explanations and I was fresh out of idea's. "With that let's begin shall w-" Her sentence cut short by a firm strong voice coming from another room.
"MHPD, come out with your hooves up!" Scattering could be heard in the other room. I instantly yelped from the voice.
"Help!" Ms. Lily quickly smacked me across the face, but to no avail. They heard me.
"I think it came from within here." As the colt had finished his sentence a large pounding could be heard coming from the outside of the door. He was beginning to knock it down.
"You stupid bitch! I was trying to help you!" Ms. Lily screamed at me. I only smiled back at her in triumph that I was going to be safe. "YOU SMUG PIECE OF SHIT" She screamed aloud as she raised her hoof once again to strike me, but was halted by the door being knocked down. She instantly turned around to face the intruders. She lit up her horn brighter than the sun and activated her device sending red sparks blazing across the room. The colt saw the oncoming assault and jumped to the cover of a metal slab.

Two colt's stood in our way to the hallway to enter the compound; Mavericks men made quick work in detaining them. While two of his squad wrapped them up we continued our way into the compound and making it through the hallway. We all halted and began looking around frantically, trying to figure out which way to head next. That is until we heard a ruckus coming from another hallway marked Mare's/Colt's.
"Something must be going on over there, everyone move out!" Maverick ordered. We all bolted after him as he led the pack of us out into a wasteland, filled with a crowd of what looked like prisoners.... But these were just kids. All of us stopped our sprint and just stood there trying to process what was going on. Our presence became known among the crowd, as all the face turned around to see us. As we continued to look the crowd began dispersing down the middle, creating a pathway to a wooden platform. "Oh dear Celestia... DAZE!" I sprinted my heart out as I ran through the crowd and up the stairs, sliding a bit as I went to her side. I began to shake her by the shoulders and cried out her name. She slowly opened her eyes and lifted her hoof up wearily pointing the other body that was hunched up into a ball.
"Sandy...Baby.." I looked back at the body. She turned over onto her side revealing her gut. My eyes widened and I set down Daze and ran to the side of Sandy. I ripped the mask from over her heard; Once I did she let out a large deafening cry.
"Oh god the babies coming...Shit.. Maverick! I need some towels and some hot water!" Maverick hadn't even noticed the bodies on the gallows, his attention was caught by the corpse laying to the side of it with a ax in his head.I shouted out at him again. "Maverick!" His thoughts ceased from the sound of his name. He quickly got up and looked at me.
" Uhhh right! Can anyone of you show me where to get those!?" He said pointing to the crowd. One mare raised her hoof and led the way back into the compound. "I'll be right back!" He shouted back at me.
"Okay, it's going to be okay Sandy... Just breathe." She let another scream and clenched her gut. Shit this isn't good

I followed the mare back into the compound for the supplies Redheart requested. Until a voice came through the walkie talkie.
Sir, are you there?
"Whatcha got Rex?" I responded as I continued to follow the mare.
I got a pissed of Ms Lily firing some sort of weapon at me, I'm pinned down sir. I'm in desperate need of back up.
"Alright where's your position?"
In a back room of Lily's office
"Alright i'm on my way. Everyone make your way over to Rex now!" I shouted into the communication device. "You!" I pointed over to the mare; she stopped from my call out. " I need you to get those things for Ms. Redheart as quickly as possible, also tell her that i'll be back as soon as possible; can you do that for me?" She nodded in response and headed back into her previous direction, where as I made my way back out to Zone 1.
Once I was out in zone 1 I looked around and saw her office. As soon as I started heading towards the entrance the rest of my squad joined back up with me. As we entered the office we could hear a strange sound, never heard once by any of us, yet it was becoming more and more familiar to Rex. We scouted the room and found the entrance leading into the backroom. We pressed our backs to the wall of the door way, as my squad awaited my orders. I looked down and saw some shattered glass. I bent down picked up a large shard and held it out into the doorway so as to gain an idea of what the situation was. What I saw was a deranged Lily swirling her weapons beam across the room, her movements dreary and with each move she made it weighed on her more. Her horns aura flickered on and off cutting the beam off for fractions of a second, but cutting it off none the less. I looked back at two of my pegasai squad members.
"Okay, here's the plan. She's lost it and she's worn from continued firing of that weapon. Both of you are gonna rush the room, one taking a left flight pattern and one taking a right, forming a X as soon as you enter the room. She'll choose on of you to go after, whoever she does you take cover while the other one attempts to tackle her and remove that weapon. As soon as she's chosen her target I'm going to charge in aswell; i'll have a straight shot at her. So taking her down will be a ease." I took another look into the room, this time noticing a gray filly worming her way in restraints.
"Shit... This just became a hostage situation..." I looked back at Tele (one of my unicorns in my squad). " Tele i'm going to need a protective aura over that filly, can you do that for me?" She nodded a yes. "Alright, as soon as I run in, begin casting the aura around her. Alright... Three...Two...One! GO GO GO!" my two pegasai bolted in following my orders. Lily took the bait and began chasing the one that ran to the left allowing me to make my way in at full charge. As soon as I was in the room I saw the filly begin to glow bright yellow from Tele's protective aura. Lily noticed the aura and turned back around, only to see me in mid tackle. I made a hard collision with her, knocking the device away from her control. I then pinned her down. I then began cuffing her and reading her, her rights.
"Lily, you are under arrest for foal enslavement, rape, murder, assault on police officer's, physical and emotional abuse on multiple accounts" As I listed off the charges; something was pulling at me. This whole thing didn't feel right... She had a weapon like none other and I was able to take her down incredibly easy. As I pondered on this I took notice of a grin that Ms. Lily was making at me. "We're going to take you down town where you will be detained until a jury of your peer's can be summoned and administer a proper trial."
"Not today deary." She smirked as her horn began to glow again.
"Shit! Tele I need you t-" But it was too late she had teleported out before I could tell Tele to use a counter spell against her. "FUCK! Everyone scout the compound I want her found! In the mean time I have to get back to Redheart." They all saluted me and left. I then turned my attention to the filly in the restraints.I calmed down as best I could before speaking to the filly. "Hey there, what's your name?" I said in the most soothing voice I could muster; after what I could only imagine what Lily was going to do to her, she must have been pretty shook up.
"Derpy, my name is Derpy"
"Are you alright Derpy?" I asked as I unshackled her restraints, she didn't answer. Instead she asked me a question in response.
"Redheart, where is she?"
"I never said anything about Redh-... Are you her daughter?"
"Daughter?"
"Uhh never mind, Redheart's back over in zone 2 caring for a filly that's giving birth. Follow me and I'll lead you to them." She lifted herself up from the metal slab and we both sprinted out of the room heading towards zone 2.

The mare had arrived with the water and towels like I requested. She's loosing too much blood... I looked back at the dead bastard Cobblemane, how could he possibly do this. She didn't deserve this...
"Is she alright?" Daze muttered as she was still on the ground, in pain. All the while not caring, just making sure her sister was alright. I just shook my head. I turned my attention back to Sandy, and with a heavy sigh I began to speak to her.
"Sandy, can you hear me?" I had to make sure that she could even hear me with all the screaming she was doing. She could only jerk her head up and down and she clenched her teeth to respond to me in a yes. "Sandy, your loosing too much blood... I don't have the medical resources to save you... Your going to die no matter what I do. You have to make a choice here, I can still save your baby, but at the rate that your loosing blood your not going to be strong enough to give birth. So option one is you continue in your state and hope for a quick death. Or two I cut open your womb and take your life, but save your babies." Her screams became muffled with sobs and curses. I lent her my hoof and she gripped on it for dear life. Putting all her strength into that grip. She lifted herself up and looked at me, into my very soul and gave me a slight nod. I set her back down and whispered to the mare that had brought the supplies to me "Go get me a knife..." She instantly ran off to get fetch me one.
"Wait what's going on?" Daze said as she became increasingly worried. I looked back at her with a dead expression.
"I'm sorry, Sandy is going to die... She's going to die but we're going to save her Child..."
"WHAT?! No don't save that bastards child Sandy!" She scolded.
"Damnit Daze shut up!" I yelled at her and she fell quiet. "She's loosing too much blood, either way she dies!" Tear's began to form up at Daze's face as she finally began to grasp the situation.
"It's okay Daze..."Sandy said surprisingly calm. "I was never destined to leave this place, as much as I would have loved to be free... once in my life. This was always my destiny."
"Sandy..." The mare had now returned wielding the knife and handed it over to me.
"Jus... Just promise me you'll take care of my foal.."
"Sandy I.. I ca-"
"DAMNIT DAZE PROMISE ME THAT. JUST LIKE YOU PROMISED TO KEEP DERPY AND I SAFE BEFORE. PROMISE ME MY CHILD WILL MAKE IT!" She screamed. Daze was put off guard by Sandy's words. She took a moment before responding.
"I promise." And with that Sandy let loose a smile of confidence and satisfaction. She then laid back down on her back and turned her eye's to me.
"I'm ready... mom." With that, tears began to stream down my face. She let go of my hoof and closed her eyes. I placed the knife over her stomach.
"I'm so sorry.. so so sorry Sandy..." And with that I began cutting into her womb. Instantly her eye's bolted back open and she began screaming louder than any other sound I have ever heard before in my life. Daze turned her head away from the sight and closed her eyes shut. I continued to cut into her, my tears falling into her womb. I had finally cut her fully open and felt her pass in my very hooves. Her head that was lifted from the pain, now fell back onto the wood of the gallows with a soft thud. The entire zone was now quiet as I reached in pulling out a little unicorn filly with blonde hair and tail. She was a purplish gray with yellow eyes.
"Towel please" I asked of the supply mare. She handed it to me and I wrapped it into the towel and stood up.

We had just entered zone 2, my heart set a flutter from the fact that I was about to see Ms. Redheart again. That is until the feeling of depression overtook both me and Maverick. The entire crowd was quiet and was looking towards the gallows. The worst thought's crossed my mind in a flash and I began to bolt once more towards the gallows.
"Ms. Redheart!!! Ms. Redheart.!" I shouted as I bursted out of the crowd. I stopped my sprint after seeing the stage. Daze lied there motionless. I could make out Sandy with a huge gash in her stomach where as Ms. Redheart stood there on her hind legs; her back facing me. She turned around.
"Derpy... Your, your talking" She said wiping away the tears from her eye's and forcing a smile. I saw the filly that Redheart held in her hooves and I just collapsed. As if the whole weight of the world was put onto my shoulders in a single instant. I began to sob quietly into my hooves, as I heard a pair making their way towards me. I looked up and saw Redheart plant herself in front of me.
"I'm sorry Derpy... there was nothing, nothing at all I could do. This was the best option she had, to save her child." She looked down at the child she held and motioned her hoof in front of the filly's face; The filly began playing with it with a sound of joy coming from her. "Would you look to see her baby? I think Sandy would have loved it if you said hello to her." She said as she extended the foal toward's me. I lifted myself back up onto my haunches and reached back out, grasping the baby in my hooves. I wrapped my hoof around her as my one free hoof wiped my eyes clean. The child looked back at me and began giggling. A smile broke onto my face, she had her mother's eyes. Redheart extended her hoof out at me and placed it on my shoulder.
"I'm sorry, for all that's happened to you. To Sandy, and to Daze. I swear on my life that nothing like this will ever happen to you, Daze, or this newborn for as long as I live." She paused for a moment and looked back over her shoulder as Daze who remained motionless on the floor."I have to go attend to Daze now, take good care of this filly while I'm over there alright?" I nodded as she got up and went over to treat Daze as best she could with the resources she had available. The crowd of onlookers gathered around, surrounding me and the foal. Just looking at us with sympathy and guilt.
"What now?" A voice sounded off.
"Your all going to be taken out of here. And we'll find you good homes." Maverick said outside of the crowd, making all of them turn around and look at him. "Your free now. We'll make sure you have a real shot at life, and I personally assure you nothing like this will happen to any of you again." The crowd began to cheer and hug one another from the news. The crowd dispersed running about and cheering, Maverick walked over to me and sat down. "Redheart is a good mare... You have no idea how much she cares about you, Daze or even Sandy. The amount of fear I witnessed in that mare's eye's when she told me what was going on... It damn near broke my heart to see her in that state. She'll be a good mom, and you'll have a good home. But after all that's happened to you though... I wish there was more that she and I could do for you." And with that he got up from talking to me and walked over to Redheart. I looked back down at the filly and thought to myself.
Atleast your free now Sandy...

Part 2 Ch 1:Rehabilitation
*Not a new chapter, I just took down the seperate story and put it with the original. I should have it updated though by late Sunday night.*
The Origin of Derpy Part 2: Rehabilitation
I slowly opened my eye's, letting the brightness from the lights above me shine in. My eye's began to adjust as I saw three shadowed figures linger over me. As my eye's continued to adjust; I was able to begin to make out who was there.
"Da-Daze?"
"Hey kiddo, you hanging in there?" She said as she placed her hoof onto mine.
"Yeah... What happened?"
"You had an accident, you ran at Cobblemane when he was beating San-"
"OH LUNA, IS SANDY OKAY?!" I jerked up from my hospital bed. Daze set her hooves on my chest trying to calm me down. An ere moment of silence befell the room before I heard a chuckle come from my left.
"I'm fine." I jerked my head over to my left and there she was, standing there in front of me, holding her baby. She looked at me with a warm smile. I grabbed onto her shoulders and began scanning all over her body making sure she was indeed alright. I took notice of a large scar that ran across her stomach. I began to speak to her in a hysteria.
"How!? I saw you, you were dead, or I thought I saw you dead."
"Well, I'm here arn't I? I just passed out due to the amount of blood I lost. That's all." I looked down at her child.
"And the baby?"
"Oh, you havn't been properly introduced yet. Her name Is Dinky." She lifted her up to show me her face.
"She's beautiful."
"That she is." A different voice sounded off. I looked away from Sandy to the very end of the bed, where Ms. Redheart stood.
"Ms. Redheart!" I lunged forward from my bed giving her the largest hug I possibly could. She returned the hug ten fold and whispered into my ear.
"You can call me mom from now on Derpy." I looked back at her with tear's in my eye's. After that we began talking and discussing all that had happened. It felt like hour's went by, when in reality only minutes passed. We had just finished one of our topics and were about to move onto the next one, when a candy stripper (Volunteer Nurse) walked in. She had a pink flowing mane that swung all the way to her knee's. Her cutie mark was one of two snakes, intertwining around a pole.
"Okay everyone visiting hour's are over." We looked at each other, and with a heavy heart we all said our goodbye's. I leaned back onto my bed once they had exited, leaving only me and the nurse in the room. I put my hooves behind my head and let out a sigh of relief. "You have a lovely family" She said.
"Yeah... Yeah I do." I said with a proud tone.
"Well it's time for your daily sponge bath hun, why don't you lower the cover's and lay on your belly for me?" She said as she was preparing a tub of water, her back facing me.
"Oh alright" I did as I was asked and rolled over onto my stomach. Almost Instantly I felt a force jump onto my bed and pin their hoof behind my neck. I jerked my eye's back to see the former nurse become Cobblemane.
"I always knew you were a good girl, here's your reward for being so obedient!"
"NO! DAZE, SANDY, REDHEART ANYPONY HELP!" My family bursted into the room, slamming the door against the wall. They began to run towards me, crying my name the whole time. But the more they ran the further they appeared. I looked back at Cobblemane as he thrusted towards me.
"AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH" I jerked up from the covers, my whole body in a cold sweat. I frantically looked over the entire room, feeling myself to make sure I was not harmed. After I was certain Cobblemane had not been in my room, I looked to my right, at my sister Dinky who shared a room with me. Seeing her sound asleep and well within her crib, I curled up into a ball and began to sob into my hooves. A few seconds passed before Daze and Redheart busted into the room, bat's in hoof.
"Derpy! What's going on? What's wrong?!" Redheart yelled out. After seeing how I was she lowered her weapon and walked over to my bed. She sat by my side and wrapped her hooves around me in an embracing hug. Between my sobs I was able to make a sentence.
"I *sniff* I had the dream again."
"Ohh shhHHhhhHhh, hush now. Nothing like that ever happened. Nothing like that will ever happen." She said in a lower whisper as she gently rocked me back and forth. Daze walked over to my opposite side and placed her hoof on mine.
"You okay Derpy?" I looked up at her and nodded as I sniffled a bit.
"Wanna sleep in my bed tonight? Would that make you feel better?" Redheart asked me. I nodded a yes in response. "Okay, Daze can you be a dear and sleep with Dinky tonight?"
"Yeah sure thing mom."
Redheart nudged me and I lifted myself up and we walked into her room. Me, Daze and Dinky had been living in Ms. Redh- Mom's house now for a year now. The carpet and wall's matched her colors. The rug was a bright pink, where as the walls were a vanilla white. There were two bathroom's and three bedroom's. Daze and Redheart slept in their own room's as I shared one with Dinky. I volunteered to sleep with her though so I didn't mind being woken up every so often from Dinky's crying. The house was centered in downtown Ponyville, a prime location; it was only a five minute trot at most to anywhere in town.
We finally reached mom's room and she gently set me on top of her bed and made her way around to the other side. She lifted the cover's up and waited for me to get under them. This had become a habit to her, more or less. This would be the sixth night I had slept in her bed this week. After I was under the covers she climbed under and nestled up beside me. She put her hoof around me to comfort me.
"I told you, nothing bad Is going to happen to you Derpy. So let's just get to some sleep okay?" I let out a yawn in response and closed my eye's, but the thought's of the past still wore heavily on my mind. I felt uneasy still because, even if Redheart claims that nothing bad will befall me from my past... I knew she was lying. There is no way she could protect me from what haunted me. It is true that it has been a while since those faithful event's at the orphanage. That doesn't change the fact however; of what linger's in my mind.
It all started the day after we liberated the orphanage. I was taken to the hospital, along with Daze and Sandy's baby to treat our wounds and to ensure the baby was in good health. I fell asleep on the way there from sheer exhaustion. When I awoke, I was in a room filled with white tiling, and a blue curtain to both my sides; enclosing me off from the other patients. Redheart sat to my right and took notice of my waking up.
"Hey there sleepy head." She said in a calm soothing voice as she brushed my hair out of my eye's .
"Where am I?"
"Manehattan general. You were so tired you fell asleep for a few days."
"A few day's!?" I was surprised by that bit of information .
"Mhm, I was worried until we got you here and the doctor took a look at you. He checked you out and made sure all your vital's were in order. I almost laughed when he said you were just tuckered out and that was the only reason you were asleep."
"Where's Daze? Where's Sandy? Where's the baby!?"
"Easy sweetie, just calm down. Daze and the baby are fine. They're in the other room being taken care of."
"And Sandy?" Redheart lowered her head at me.
"There's nothing I could do, sorry..."
"So that part really did happen..." I looked away from her as a cloud of gloom overtook me. We sat there in silence until we heard hoofsteps making their way towards us. We both looked out at the walkway next to my bed and saw Maverick poke his head into view.
"Ahh there you are. I see she finally woke up." He walked over to me and sat on the opposite side of Redheart . "I knew she would, she's a tough little filly aintcha?" He said as he gave me a playful noogy. I giggled as I tried to push his hand away . "Oh I almost forgot, here, everyone at the force pitched in and got the family a little something. Rex we're over here!" He called out, and the colt that had been pinned down from Ms. Lily's weapon a few day's ago appeared wielding a huge and awesome display of flowers . "I figured you could use a get well gift." He smiled at me for a moment as Rex set the flower's next to me. He then turned his attention to Redheart . "Can I speak to you for a moment Ms. Redheart?"
"Oh uh sure... Derpy I'll be right back, if you need me i'll be just a moment's notice away okay?" I nodded my head in response. All three of the adult's had left me by my lonesome. I laid my back onto my bed as I waited for Redheart, Maverick, and Rex to return. They had entered the hallway outside of the room and their silhouettes moved back and forth through the frosted glass of the door they had just closed. The room was a dead silence; quiet enough to where the only sound within the room was the click of the clock hand, passing each second. My ear's perked up when I heard them begin their conversation.
"I regret to inform you this Ms. Redheart, but Ms. Lily has escaped."
"What do you mean escape? You said your men got her!"
"I thought we would have gotten her... With all the crap that was going on; I didn't want you to worry." He took a moment and I saw his shadow move, looking into the room . "Derpy and Daze had been through enough that day. You had been through a lot yourself. I figured a lie was better than the truth, even if I knew it was wrong to do so, I thought some relief would be good for the three of you." Mom just stood there, like a stone statue .
"What happened exactly?"
"Maverick pinned her down. She had been going insane; firing a strange device at me and everyone else in the unit. Once he had her pinned down she quickly used a teleport spell... Our magic expert Tele wasn't warned quickly enough to prevent her from casting the spell."
"I see." Redheart sunk her head down .
"Rex can you give us a moment please? Why don't you go an deliver Daze's flower's?"
"Yes sir" With a salute he walked away from the doorway until his hoofsteps could no longer be heard. Once he was no longer apart of their company mom lifted her head up, and as quick as lightning, she smacked Maverick right on the lips. My jaw hit the floor. Maverick instantly closed his eye's returning the kiss. My jaw continued to lower itself. They remained that way for a few moments before Maverick broke the kiss .
"I'm sorry Redh-" Mom held her hoof up to his mouth .
"You really need to step calling me by my last name." She chuckled as she lowered her hoof .
"Sorry, Misty. I thought we could have gotten her-" She raised her hoof up again, silencing him once more .
"I understand, I thank you for that. Not just for that day, but for the past few weeks too.You have been the absolute best"
Weeks!? What the buck is going on here?!
"Well... You may not say that when you hear what else I have to say to you." My mom cocked her head to the right; confused. "Can we go somewhere and sit down?" Unsure she nodded lightly; Maverick then proceeded to lead her away from the door.
An hour later.
I sat there with thoughts racing through my mind at a thousand miles an hour. Was Ms. Lily still free, and out there? Has it really been week's since that day? And if so, why did mom lie to me about that? Why was mom smacking lip's with him? What was so important that he had to have mom sit down before telling her? All these question's were about to get answered as I saw their silhouette's return and share one more kiss and hug before Maverick left. She waited a while, waving to him as he left. Once he was gone, she slowly lowered her hoof to the floor and took a heavy sigh right before entering the room again with two bowls of ice cream in hoo f.
"Sorry I was gone for so long Derpy... There was something Maverick had to discuss with me. Here I got us some ice cream, not the best in the world but still alright." She said with a chuckle as she took her place by me, handing me my bowl.
"Something you'd like to share?" I asked as I took the bowl from her .
"Excuse me?" She was thrown off by my stern tone and hard glare at her, as she took a bite.
"Out there, I heard the gist of the conversation. So you can continue to lie to me, because I know it's been a few weeks, not day's that I've been out. I know Ms. Lily is still roaming Equestria, and I saw those smooches of yours. Or you can tell me what's really going on here."
"You saw and heard that huh?" She looked down not making eye contact with me, dropping her spoon into the bowl.
"Yeah" She nodded and slowly exhaled a heavy sigh. She then looked up to the light's at the ceiling, then at the floor. Trying her best to avoid eye contact with me, until she finally raised her head back up to meet my eye's .
"So what do you want to know?"
"Everything."
"That... May take a while."
Part 2 Ch 2: Explinations
The Origin of Derpy, Part 2 Chapter 2: Explinations
Redheart leaned her head back, slouching in her chair some as she exhaled a sigh. Regaining her posture she placed the bowl of melting ice cream on a table that stood next to my hospital bed. She let out a shaky exhale before beginning.
"Ms. Lily, is still on the loose, you heard that right?" I nodded a yes in response. "Okay well, after you, Daze and the baby were rushed to the hospital, Maverick went to the compound to investigate it further. Possibly even gain some leads as to where she had run off to. What he found though... Was something he had not been expecting. Maverick had found..."
~~~~
"You see anything down there sir?" Rex called out to his squad leader who was making his way down the spiral staircase of the mines abyss.
"I cant see my own hoof in front of my face down here!" Maverick called back up. He was only about half way down the mine and already the light had become scarce. The only way he was able to continue downwards was because of a very dim light at the end of the tube, where the real mine began.
Maverick had already been through Ms. Lily's Office, the tower, all of the rooms and even Ms. Lily's so called 'experiment' room, searching for her. The spell she used to get away was a short range teleportation spell, and with that knowledge Maverick knew that she couldn't have gotten far. She had to have teleported somewhere within the compound or at the very least one hundred yards away from it. The mines were the last place he would check before he would be fresh out of ways to pick up the scent of her trail.
Maverick arrived at the bottom of the mines where 6 tunnels darted out in all different directions.
"Shit, which way now?" Maverick looked around at the walls and the roofs of each tunnel. None of which gave off any signifying distinction between each other. He the grabbed a torch from one of the walls and began to investigate more thoroughly. But still no evidence came up. He thought of the possibility of going through each tunnel individually but he quickly dismissed the idea. It would be far too time consuming and would risk the safety of him and his men to even attempt at doing so. Frustrated and disappointed with the results of his searching he plopped himself on the floor of the mine, creating a loud thud.
"Sir! Can you hear me?" Rex was coming through on the walkie talkie.
"Yeah watcha need Rex?"
"You better come up and take a look at this."
Maverick sprinted back up out of the mine shaft and headed towards where he had sent Rex investigating, the kitchen; yes even the kitchen needed to be searched, they had to leave no stone unturned before they could leave. When he arrived in the kitchen Maverick's sprint suddenly came to an end as he saw what Rex was going on about. Rex had found a room hidden behind the brick stone oven in the kitchen. It was a small room no wider than 10 feet and no taller than 12. Within the room was a railway tracking leading into an underground cave that point out of the compound. But that wasn't what caught Maverick's attention. No, it was the writing of blood on the wall.
All shall be cleansed or shall perish. For those who believe in him, weep not today, for it is a joyous one. Let the purging begin.
"She is one sick fuck..." Rex muttered under his breath.
Maverick just continued to stand their as his heart twisted each time he read those words. Agape and awe struck his jaw began to quiver. He began to burst out in a cold sweat as adrenaline pumped through his veins.
"Sir? Sir! SIR! Are you ALRIGHT?!" Rex screamed at his commander; waving his hoof in front of his face. Maverick shook his head and blinked a few times to snap himself out of his state.
"W-what? Oh, yeah i'm fine..."
"What does it mean? 'Those who believe in him'. Sir?"
"I-I don't know." That was a damn lie. Maverick knew full well who he was. and his name was-...
~~~~
"What was his name?!" I asked; literally hanging on the edge of my seat.
"I don't know. He wouldn't tell me. He said for security reasons of not only me but the state he couldn't tell me." Redheart paused for a moment. "Let's not talk about this gloom and doom anymore, alright?" I shook my head at her proposal.
"No, I need to know."
"Fine..." Redheart sighed at my request, lowering her head some.
"So what happened next?"
"Well, he began to follow the where the mine lead to..."
~~~~
The mine had lead Rex and Maverick well below the surface into a open room with six different tunnels leading in all directions; it resembled the original mines layout.
"Shit! It's exactly the same as the other one!" Maverick said circling around on the midpoint of the room where all the railways intersected.
"Maybe not sir, look at this." Rex said looking at the ground down at a specific tunnel
"What is it?" Maverick asked has he took his said by Rex.
"Look." Rex pointed to dried blood droplets in the dirt.
Maverick though on the clue for a second. "She must have cut herself to write that message back there..."
"Like I said, one sick fuck..."
~~~~
"Maverick and Rex continued down the that tunnel and...."
"And what?"
Redheart bit her lower lip hard; it looked as if she may draw blood. Her eye's clenched themselves shut. Her hoof curled up into a ball as she gripped her fur on her legs.
"They found others." She said allowing a single tear to fall down and roll off of her chin.
"Other's?"
'Other compounds... At the end of the first tunnel they found another one, then another one, then another... Each one filled with hundreds...Thousand's of foal's.... All piled up on top of each other, dead. " Redheart slammed the table of which she had placed the bowl of ice cream on earlier, knocking it off the edge. "SHE KILLED THEM! ALL THOSE INNOCENT SOULS, SHE KILLED THEM! AND FOR WHAT?! FOR WHAT PURPOSE DID THEY SERVE!"
The room became ere as the only sound that could be heard was Ms. Redheart sobbing aloud. She forcefully wiped her snot and tears clean from her face before looking back at me.
"Why Derpy!? Why would... How could somepony do this? They had their whole lives ahead of them! Gone, all gone, never to be seen on the earth again!" She grabbed both my shoulders and gently shook me. "WHY!?" She collapsed on my lap, crying her eye's out. I did the only thing I could do in that situation, I tried to calm her by gently running my hoof through her hair as I hung my head low and began to cry along with her.
We remained there for a while before Redheart was finally able to regain herself. She gently wiped the tears from under her eye's and looked me dead in the eye.
"No more. I don't want you to hear anymore. I can't bare telling you anymore... Please don't make me."
I gently nodded my head and looked away. An awkward silence befell the both of us as we both sat there, not sure of what to talk about. That is until much to my surprise Redheart began talking again.
"I suppose however, you want to know about me and Maverick. Right?"
"yeah. I do."
"Well, you have been out for five weeks now. Everyday I would come to visit you here, so if you had made any progress; Maverick did the same. Everyday we would run into each other while visiting you, and eventually after a month he asked if I would like to join him for dinner. He said I looked like I could use some company at the time." Her cheeks became red as she recalled that moment.
"So I did, and after that it became kind of a habit with us. We would visit you at the same time everyday and afterwards we would enjoy each others company until... Well... Until we started going out."
"How long have you two been going out now?"
"About two weeks now."
"That's sweet." I said giving a smile, still trying to cheer her up as much as possible from the previous topic.
A knock was heard at the door as we finished our conversation. A beige colt poked his head into the room. He was wearing a large white coat and holding a clipboard with papers on it.
"Excuse me, I hope I'm not interrupting anything"
"Oh no, please do come in." Redheart said beckoning for the doctor to make his way in.
"Oh good, she's up. That makes this a little easier then." He said turning his direction from me to mom. "So as we discussed earlier Ms. Redheart, Derpy is in fine condition and is able to return home today. I just needed to fill out all of the paperwork and such, and now that it's done I just need you to fill out your part Ms. Redheart."
Mom looked back at me. "Okay, I'm going with the doctor for a bit. Once I come back we'll leave and go home, sound good?"
"Mmhmm."
"Alright." Patted my lap twice before getting up to follow the doctor out of the room. The two closed the door leaving me to my thoughts.
I sat there for a few minutes before a candy striper came in and took her side next to me.
"Good morning deary. Word on the street is your getting out of here, lucky you!" She gave me a cheerful smile as she began disconnecting all the equipment that was attached to me.
"Yeah... Lucky me." I gave her an emotionless response, my mind a million miles away. Focused on the fact that Ms. Lily was free and what she was continuing to do.
"Oh come on, give me a smile! You get to go home after all. Doesn't that make you happy?"
I looked back at the candy striper who was being persistent in striking up a conversation with me. "Sorry, my thoughts are elsewhere... It does make me happy though." I gave her a smile in hopes that it would be to her satisfaction and she could leave me alone with my thought's.
She continued to fondle the equipment that was attached to me. Removing various needles from my arm and the heart monitor from the end of my hoof.
"See that's more like it, but in all honesty you should be beaming with joy." She said as she stretched her smile further, encouraging me to do so too. I did not give her a response. She then gathered all the things and set them on the table by my side before making her way to the door. She opened the door and looked slowly back to me. Then said one more sentence before exiting the room.
"We should all smile. We should all rejoice... After all, He is returning..."
