Rarity has discovered the internet and has decided to regale the birth of her new relationship.

The heart is a fickle mistress indeed. Rarity is well aware of this, but is still surprised to find her heart has chosen Applejack for her latest infatuation. What surprises Rarity even more is that she discovers through Pinkie Pie that Applejack has long had a crush on her.

The simple thing to do would be to confront Applejack and explore their feelings in a frank and honest fashion…but that isn't the fun way, not for Rarity. After setting a wager with Rainbow Dash, Rarity seeks to wriggle a confession out of Applejack herself. How she goes about doing this is what turns an innocent courtship into a hilarious ordeal.

RANDOM and COMEDY are the keywords here. The story is most likely going to go off into bizarre territory (this is Rarity's memoir after all), so don't be thrown off by all the breaks in narrative and asides: they are intentional.
