Shao Kahn gives up on Earthrealm, and decides to send Quan Chi to go find some place worth taking over, because the netherealm is hot, Order realm is full of D-Bags, and the others get no love. What follows involves Fluttershy having a pet Goro, Angel Bunny doing fatalities, The Cutie Mark Crusaders getting their cutie marks in being Elder Gods, and Raiden having tea with Twilight Sparkle while Johnny Cage takes on Princess Luna in shot drinking.

Obviously, something weird will happen, and as such there will be blood, because this is freaking MORTAL KOMBAT, so no blood means no story.
