Chapters It all happened in a flash..... Two brothers..... One born in the light... One born in the darkness. Both sons of the great night, Sparda. They're swords clashed against each other but in the end the lighter brother one. They are known as Dante and Vergil. The lighter brother's Rebellion had conquered his darker brother's Yamato. Dante then tried to save his brother from falling into the deep bottomless put but surprisingly Vergil stops him holding his end of their mother's amulet.
"No one can have this, Dante... it's mine, it belongs to a son of Sparda. Leave me and go, if you don't want to be trapped into the demon world... I'm staying. This place was our father's home." Vergil said.
The dark brother then let his balance fall off and into the dark pit. Then and there his entire flashed before his eyes.
So this is how it all ends.... My foolish brother saves the disgusting humanity from destruction....... And I end up falling down into the pitiful dark pit of hell. he thought to himself.
Suddenly out of the corner of his eye he sees a flash of light blinding him and enveloping him.
What is this? Is this where my personal hell will be? Vergil asked himself.
Then in a flash Vergil disappears.
Celestia's sun was shining as bright as it could over Ponyville and at the Carousel Boutique the fashionista Rarity was sewing up new dresses as usual.
"There we go. These new dresses will be sure to get new customers attention." She said to herself.
Suddenly she smelt smoke in the air.
"Oh no. Please don't be what I think it is." She said to herself as she rushed to the kitchen.
In fact it was what she thought it was: her younger sister was cooking and as usual she burnt what she was cooking to a second degree.
"Sweetie Belle!" Rarity shouted,
"What have I told you about trying to cook on your own?!"
"I don't even know what went wrong... The recipe called for it to be cooked at 112 degrees farenheight." Sweetie said.
She then got a closer look at the recipe and realized it had to be cooked 1.12 degrees.
"Oh." Sweetie said.
"Oh is right. Next time when you want to cook something... Don't.... Unless you can properly read the directions!" The white unicorn shouted.
"I'm trying my best!" The white filly retorted.
"Well try harder!!" Rarity shouted back.
But before the argument could go any furthur rumbling was heard and great veil of white was coming from the sewing room and a huge crash was heard.
Huff. Rainbow Dash must be here. She usually crashes through the ceiling. Rarity thought.
She trotted back and saw in shock that it wasn't Rainbow Dash that crashed in but in fact a new, mysterious pony. It had crashed into a pile of ponequins and was deeply hurt: his clothes were in shambles and he had a deep, bloody cut on his body. The pony was blue, his hair was white and swept back and was wearing a blue long coat with three tails and a snake like pattern on the right side of the jacket.
"Oh my word!" Rarity said shocked.
"What is it Rarity? Ohhhh my." Sweetie said shocked as well.
"Where did this strange pony come from? But we'll worry about that later... He's deeply hurt... Help him upstairs." The white unicorn said.
Rarity used her magic and levitated the strange pony on top of her and then she trotted upstairs. When she went into her bedroom she levitated the blue pony onto her bed.
"There. Now he'll be relaxed and he can heal. Although we might need to get some medical attention for that huge cut on him." Rarity said.
"Do you think he'll be alright?" Sweetie asked.
"As sure as Celestia herself." Rarity answered.
Uhhhh. What's going on? What happened? Vergil thought to himself.
He felt some of his strength returning and tried to open his eyes. His vision was blurry but when it cleared up they saw a very neat room. It looked as if it belonged to the Queen of England.
So this is where I'm supposed to live throughout the rest of days? Vergil thought.
He then lifted up his arm and in surprise what he was looking at wasn't in fact an arm.... but a hoof.
What the hell is this? The dark slayer asked.
He then looked to side of the bed he was on and saw a mirror. Surprisingly he was able to pick it up without any fingers and he looked at his reflection... but didn't see the reflection of a half-human, half-demon... he saw the reflection of a horse.
Looks like all that demonic power I've collected has gone to my head. Now I'm starting to hallucinate that I'm a stupid horse. Vergil thought.
"Oh I'm so glad your awake." a voice said.
Vergil quickly picked up his sheathed Yamato and then quickly unsheathed it and pointed his sword at the source of the voice. A white horse with royal purple mane and tail.
"Oh I do apologize if I've disturbed you." It said.
"Another horse.... and it can talk. Looks I have let all that power go to my head." Vergil said.
"Excuse me but I happen to be a pony... not a horse. And of course I can talk everypony here in Equestria can talk." The white pony said.
"Equestria? I've never heard of such a place. But with a name like 'Equestria' then it can't be anything good or usefull." The dark slayer said.
"What? Equestria happens to be the name of greatest country in the world. And you happen to be in Ponyville the nicest town in it." The talking horse said.
"If something's nice then that means it is weak." Vergil insulted.
"Ponyville is not weak. How dare you?!" The white unicorn retaliated.
"..."
"..."
"..."
"Oh I'm deeply sorry if I yelled at you. No need to give me the silent treatment."
"..."
"Maybe your shy. Maybe it will help if I introduce myself. My name is Rarity and this is my shop: The Carousel Boutique where all the fanciest and greatest dresses are made."
"..."
"And what would your name be?" Rarity asked.
"...... Vergil." The dark slayer introduced.
"Vergil huh? What's your last name?" Rarity asked.
"I don't have a last name. My entire family doesn't have a last name." Vergil said.
"Well.... That's strange. But unique. So where do you come from? Judging by the way you dress... which is facinating... It looks like your going to a fancy party everyday." Rarity complimented.
"Hm." Vergil went.
"I'll take that as a 'thank you.' Where do you come from? Canterlot, Hoofington, Manehattan, Cloudsdale, Appleloosa, Fillydelphia, Trottingham, Las Pegasus, Baltimare or Saddle Arabia?" Rarity asked.
"All of those horse puns are actual places? It appears this world is more foolish then I first thought. And whatever foolish idiot named those places should be fired and or executed." Vergil said coldly.
"Hey! Those happen to be very nice names for places. What's the name of your home?" Rarity asked annoyed.
"... I've never actually known the name of the city I've lived in." Vergil answered.
"You don't know the name of the city you live in? Have you even bothered to ask?" The white unicorn asked.
"Not really. Because I don't really care. Although I think it's named Fortuna." The dark slayer answered.
"Oh.... So how did you get here to Ponyville?" Rarity asked.
"I was brought here by a blinding light. You might think this is crazy but I wasn't always a hor..... pony. I happened to come from another world. There I was a human being." Vergil explained, not wanted to reveal that he was part demon.
"... You come from another world? That's kind of hard to belive.... But a lot of strange stuff happens here in Equestria so I'm not complaining......" The white unicorn said.
Vergil sat silent for a long while and then decided to get up. He got up on two hooves but then ended up falling down on the ground.
"Oh dear.. Are you quite alright? Why were you trying to stand on your hind legs?" Rarity asked.
"When I was a human I could stand on two legs. Do you know nothing about humans?" Vergil asked.
"Not exactly. I've heard that they were just myths and that they ceased to exist thousands of years ago." The white unicorn said.
Huh... So I'm in a world where humanity has already ceased to exist... Maybe this world isn't as foolish as I thought. The dark slayer thought.
Then a smirk went on his face at his thought.
"What's with the smirk?" Rarity asked.
"Oh I'm just thinking of something that I've been looking forward to for a long time." Vergil said.
"What's that?" The white unicorn asked.
"None of your business." Vergil responded.
He then got up but this time on all fours and tried walking. He fell down again and when he got up he said to himself,
"Left... Right... Left... Right."
Over and over again. When he got to the stairs he tried stepping down but ended up tripping and falling down the stairs and landing hard on the floor.
"Oh my.... Looks like your having difficulty trying to walk." Rarity said.
"You think? What was your first clue?" Vergil asked coldly.
"Don't you know how to respond nicely or to act like a gentle-stallion?" The white unicorn asked.
"Yes I do." Vergil responded nicely.
He then got back up and felt his wound... which surprisingly wasn't there.
"What happened to that huge cut on my body?" He asked.
"Oh I had a doctor look at it and had it healed. I also took the liberty of sewing your clothes back together." The white fashionista said trotting up to Vergil. The dark slayer then tried getting back up on his hooves but held onto Rarity. That was then he saw a strange tattoo on her flank. Rarity took notice and asked,
"Can I help you with something?"
"What is that strange tattoo on your behind?" The dark slayer asked.
"That's my cutie mark." The white unicorn answered.
"Cutie mark? What is that?" Vergil asked.
"It's a special mark that appears on a pony once she or he discovers what makes them special or when they discover their special talent. I don't why your asking me that considering you have your own." Rarity said.
Vergil was taken aback by this. He then hesitantly took a look at his flank and at his supposed 'cutie mark.' A cutie mark was there and it was of Vergil's sword: Yamato.
"Isn't that your sword? Are you like a master swordsman?" Rarity asked.
"I am. I'm highly skilled in swordsmanship. Do you want a demonstration?" The dark slayer asked.
He then put his hoof on Yamato and was about to unsheath it but suddenly the sword levitated out of his reach.
"Um that's quite alright thanks. But I'd prefer if you didn't... You'd break something." The white pony said.
The dark slayer noticed that Rarity had a horn on her head and it was glowing blue and he noticed that Yamato was encoated with a blue aura.
"What sorcery is this?" Vergil asked.
"It's called magic. Don't you have magic in your world?" Rarity asked.
"No...... It doesn't exist in my world and I don't paticularry belive in it and I think that anybody that belives in it is a foolish idiot." The dark slayer said.
"Why do you have to be so cold? Is it that hard to be nice for somepony. And it's anypony not anybody." Rarity said.
"Even your wordplay is on horse puns. Even more stupid." The son of sparda insulted.
Rarity's eye then started twitching and then the other and it looked she was about to explode but she breathed in deep and blew out.
"I'm going to let that slide because your new here and your pretty confused. And to furthur ask why don't you belive in magic? You can perform it as well. Just look at the horn on you." She said.
Vergil was even more confused. He then picked up the nearest mirror and looked at him more clearly and saw a blue horn on him.
"Just because I have horn I can perform magic?" He asked.
"Well yes that's what a unicorn can do." Rarity said.
Of course. Vergil thought,
"So are there more of you? And are they all unicorns?"
"Yes and no. There are more ponies here but there are three different types. I'm a unicorn as you probably already knew. There's also earth ponies that are very strong and there are Pegasi which have wings and can fly." Rarity explained.
"... Soooooo many ponies. I think my mind just exploded." Vergil said.
Then suddenly a white filly came out and said,
"Hey Rarity how's our guest? Oh he's awake."
"Who's the little one?" Vergil asked.
"That's my little sister, Sweetie Belle. Sweetie Belle this is Vergil." Rarity said.
"Nice to meet you Mr. Vergil." Sweetie said extending her hoof out.
"... Likewise. And refer to me only as Vergil." The dark slayer said.
"Okay." Sweetie said calmly and then trotted off.
"Well Vergil since your new here..... Would you like a tour of Ponyville?" Rarity asked.
"..... Fine." Vergil responded.
Rarity then opened the door for Vergil and simply went.
"Hm."
He then trotted outside as Rarity followed.
Meeting Incompatent Ponies
Vergil and Rarity strolled through Ponyville. The dark slayer did get a couple friendly looks and waves at him which he just scoffed at.
"So how did you end up in Equestria?" Rarity asked.
"A strange bright light brought me here and in turn altered my appearance to match the dominant species." Vergil said simply.
"...... That is strange." The white unicorn said.
When the two were walking they came across a pink pony with a very puffy mane and tail with balloons as a cutie mark. When she looked at Vergil she gasped very loudly and then took off quickly.
"What was that all about?" The dark slayer asked.
"Oh that was just..." Rarity started but was interrupted by a southern drawl voice.
"Howdy Rarity." It said.
The two looked ahead and saw an orange pony with a tied up blonde mane and tail with three apples as a cutie mark.
"Say who's your friend over there?" She asked.
"Why this is..." Rarity started.
"Vergil." Vergil interrupted.
"Yes. Vergil. He's new here." The white unicorn said.
"Well it's a very nice please to meet y'all. I'm Applejack." The orange pony introduced.
"..... A pleasure Miss Applejack." Vergil said using the manners he was taught as a child.
"Why thank you very kindly partner. But just call me Applejack your wasting wordplay with the whole 'Miss' thing." Applejack said.
"Very well m... Applejack." The dark slayer corrected.
"Well since your here how about a taste of some good ol' apple pie? I was just about to set up mah shop." The orange cowpony said.
"...... Very well. I haven't had anything to eat in the last couple days."
"I must say that was most delicious. Never had anything so good." Vergil said.
"Well she does live on a farm." Rarity said.
"I guess that explains it. Even I would have figured that out. " The dark slayer thought to himself.
Although high above the two a stray storm cloud was following them and on top of it was a blue pegasus with cyan wings, rainbow mane and tail and a rainbow colored lightning bolt as a cutie mark. She was Rainbow Dash, fastest flyer in all of Equestria and top notch pranker.
Looks like Rarity has a new friend. Perhaps I'll give him a little scare and then we'll have a good laugh. Dash thought to herself and snickered.
She was about to buck the cloud when a sword sliced through the cloud and she ended up falling down and crashing onto the ground.
"Nice try pitiful fool." She heard.
When she looked up she saw Vergil with a cold look in his eyes. He then caught the sword that came through the cloud and sheathed it.
"Dang it.... You ruined my prank." Dash said.
"Well you should know better than to prank a pony with a sword who also knows you were there the whole time." The dark slayer said.
"Huh?" The blue pegasus said confused.
"I could sense your power from up above. You stick out very easy foolish mare." Vergil said.
"Hey! I am not a fool!" Dash shouted annoyed and insulted.
"Well by the way you were trying to prank me and failed that cleary prooves you are a fool." Vergil stated.
"Grrrrrr." Dash growled.
Rarity then came over and said,
"Oh do excuse my friend, Rainbow Dash. She can be a little troublesome sometimes. And you must excuse Vergil here. He's very serious and apparently has some anger issues."
"What did you say about me?!" The dark slayer said annoyed.
"Hey cool down bro. And besides I wasn't aiming for you I was only trying to give you a little scare. For fun." The blue pegasus said.
"Well do excuse me.... Miss Dash but I don't take kindly to jokes pulled on me. Neither do I take kindly to troublemakers." Vergil said coldly.
"Troublemaker? Just because I was trying to prank you doesn't mean I'm a troublemaker."
"The definition of troublemaker is a pony who causes trouble for others, especially one who does so habitually out of malice. Other words are delinquant, vandal and ne'er-do-well. Which all three define you perfectly.... You troublemaking, foolish mare." Vergil stated with annoyance and high coldness.
"Grrrr. Why you I oughta..."
"You ought to what?" Vergil asked unsheathing Yamato and pointing the blade at the speedster pony.
"I thought so." The dark slayer said sheathing his sword,
"Come along Rarity. We shall not waste anymore time with this troublemaker."
He then trotted off without a care in the world with Rarity following behind.
What's his problem? Rainbow Dash thought.
"You didn't need to be so rude to her." Rarity said.
"She was a troublemaker so she desereves it. I can hardly believe you are friends with that delinquant Rainbow Dash." Vergil said coldly.
"You could have at least try to be nice to her." The white unicorn said.
"I'd sooner swallow my own tounge than be kind to that ne'er-do-well." The dark slayer stated.
They were about to walk furthur when they noticed that something was blocking their way. A yellow pegasus with a pink mane and tail with butterflies as a cutie mark was leading some chickens across the road.
"Okay stay steady. Make sure your with your travel buddy." She said.
"Excuse me!" Vergil shouted.
"EEP!" The pegasus went and quickly hid her face behind her mane.
"I don't mean to be rude but your chicken trail is blocking our way." The dark slayer said.
"Uh... Um... Eh.... Um."
"This is Fluttershy Vergil." Rarity said.
"I can see where she got her name." The dark slayer said,
"Well Miss Fluttershy. If you want I could lend you some help."
"Eh.... If it's alright with you I guess." Fluttershy said.
Then in a flash Vegil quickly rushed from one side of the road to the other with the chickens and back.
"Oh my.... No regular pony can possibly be that fast." Rarity said.
"That's because..... I'm no regular pony. I have special powers." Vergil said,
"I'd like to share them but we're on a tour. I'll see you around Miss Fluttershy."
He then quickly rushed off with Rarity trotting after.
The two ponies had reached a tree house.... Literaly.
"And this is the Golden Oakes Library." Rarity said.
"..... It's a tree. Huh I guess it's an actual tree house." Vergil said.
The dark slayer then trotted up to the door and knocked on it. He heard whispering and then without any hesitation he opened the door. Then out of nowhere the lights flickered on and tons of ponies came out of hiding and shouted,
"SURPRISE!!!!"
"Gwaaaaa!!!!!" Vergil shouted shocked.
Then the same pink pony Vergil ran into came up and said,
"Hi there! I'm Pinkie Pie and I threw this party just for you!"
"I can see that. But it was a useless effort because I already knew you were in here. I can sense your energy and boy is it wild." The dark slayer said and then trotted off.
"Woooow. You can sense my energy? Do you have a special sense as well?" Pinkie asked.
".... Something like that." Vergil said.
"Well when I first saw you I just knew that were new here and that you didn't have any friends. Although you were hanging with Rarity which means that you made friends with her. But I just wanted to throw this pinkie party to make you feel special." The pink pony rambled.
She then continued rambling on and on when Vergil sighed to himself.
She reminds me so much of Dante..... She's just as annoying. He thought to himself.
As he was about to put his hoof in her mouth he looked up and saw a lavender unicorn with a hime cut and a some stars as a cutie mark trotting down the stairs.
"You must be the certain somepony that Pinkie was throwing this party for. It's a pleasure to meet you. I'm Twilight Sparkle." She said extending her hoof.
"Vergil. A pleasure to meet you Miss Sparkle." The dark slayer responded shaking her hoof.
"Vergil huh? That's a very interesting name." Twilight said.
"So does Twilight Sparkle. Sounds like a star glittering in the night sky." Vergil said,
And a pretty one at that.
"Well thank you. Hope you enjoy Pinkie's party." The lavender unicorn said.
"Okay." The dark slayer said.
He then trotted off with a smile on his face... not a sarcastic, cold smile or smirk. An authentic smile.
That Twilight. She seems to remind me of someone. And that someone.... Appears to be me. Vergil thought.
The party lasted for twelve hours. Many ponies tried to talk to Vergil but he just ignored them. Even Pinkie tried talking to him which just annoyed him. Annoyed him so much he actually had to result to drinking champagne to calm his nerves. Although he drank a little bit to much and ended up passing out on the ground.
Vergil awoke from unconsciousness and saw that everypony had left.
"I guess I must have drank a little too much. Which is surprising cause I never drink. " Vergil said.
"Good, your up. About time." A voice said.
He looked up and saw Twilight looking at him.
"You went a little crazy and then passed out on the ground. Although I did manage to clean you up. Rarity told me everything about you and it's amazing. A real human transformed into a pony. Facinating. Normally I'd ask you some questions but I'm really tired." She said.
"Do you think I could live here.... just until I can figure a way back home?" Vergil asked,
"Okay I guess. I'll have Spike show you the guest room. SPIKE!!" Twilight shouted.
Then a baby dragon with purple and green spikes rushed down.
"Here I am." He said.
"Spike, please show Vergil the guest room."
"Right away." Spike answered.
Vergil and Spike then walked upstairs and then turned left and got to a door.
"Here's the guest room. If you need anything just call." Spike said.
Vergil just walked inside and shut the door. He then trotted over to the bed and laid on it. He put Yamato on the desk next to it and then closed his eyes.
Vergil awoke from his slumber.
Heh. I should have known it.... He thought to himself.
He then realized he was still in the guest room.
Damn it. Not a dream. He finished.
He groaned for a bit and grabbed Yamato and headed downstairs. When he came to the bottom floor Twilight and Spike were nowhere to be seen.
"Where could they be?" He asked himself.
"Come one, come all! Come and witness the amazing magic of the Great and Powerful Trixie!" A voice shouted.
Vergil was very confused. Who was making that noise? He trotted outside and then saw a giant stage with a lot of ponies surrounding it. Then a flash of smoke came out and a blue unicorn with a white mane and dressed up in purple wizard hat and cloak.
Another boaster. I hate boasters. The dark slayer thought.
"Watch in awe as the Great and Powerful Trixie performs the most spectacular feats of magic ever witnessed by pony eyes!" The unicorn who was obviously Trixie shouted.
Vergil rushed through the croud until he got up to the Mane Six.
"Twilight. Who is that pony up there?" He asked.
"Apparently it's somepony by the name of Trixie." Rainbow Dash said.
"She's claiming she's the best at magic ever." Rarity said.
"More like a complete show off." Applejack said.
"Well, well, well, it seems we have some neighsayers in the audience. Who is so ignorant as to challenge the magical ability of the Great and Powerful Trixie? Do they not know that they're in the presence of the most magical unicorn in all of Equestria?" Trixie said.
"So, "Great and Powerful Trixie". What makes you think you're so awesome, anyway?" Dash asked.
"Heh, why, only the Great and Powerful Trixie has magic strong enough to vanquish the dreaded Ursa Major!" Trixie shouted.
Her horn then started glowing as a magical screen showed her story.
"When all hope was lost, the ponies of Hoofington had no one to turn to, but the Great and Powerful Trixie stepped in, and with her awesome magic, vanquished the Ursa Major and sent it back to its cave deep within the Everfree Forest!" She said.
More like faker and charletin. I can see past her lies. Vergil thought.
"Don't believe the Great and Powerful Trixie? [chuckles] Well then, I hereby challenge you, Ponyvillians -- anything you can do, I can do better. Any takers? Anyone? Hmm? Or is Trixie destined to be the greatest equine who has ever lived!?" Trixie shouted.
Almost immediately Applejack ran up onto stage and got a lasso. She then started twirling it around with just her tail and doing many tricks and finished up by grabbing an apple.
"Top that, missy." AJ said.
Snake charmer music then went off as Trixie leviated the lasso and tied up AJ by her hooves and then finished her humiliation.
"Once again, the Great and Powerful Trixie prevails."
Rainbow Dash then flew right up and said,
"There's no need to go struttin' around and showin' off like that. That's my job!"
Then in a quick flash Dash spun around really fast creating a tornado and then landed perfectly. Unfortunately Trixie sabotaged the tornado and ended up sucking Dash into the twister and then spat right out and slammed into the ground. Then she was struck with lightning.
"What we need is another unicorn to challenge her. Someone with some magic of her own." Spike said.
"Well if you must..." Vergil started.
"No that's quite alright Vergil. I take your hint, but Rarity is above such nonsense. Rainbow Dash and Applejack may behave like ruffians, but Rarity conducts herself with beauty and grace." Rarity said.
"Ooo, what's the matter? Afraid you'll get a hair out of place in that rat's nest you call a mane?" The boastful unicorn insulted.
"Oh, it. Is. On! You may think you're tough with all of your so-called powers, but there's more to magic than your brutish ways. A unicorn needs to be more than just muscle. A unicorn needs to have style." Rarity said.
She used some magic to make her mane and tail incredibly beautiful. Unfortunately Trixie cast a spell and the entire thing became a big green mess. She then ran off the stage crying. Normally Vergil wouldn't get involved in such silliness but the boastful mess that's Trixie had gone too far. He didn't appreciate Applejack getting humiliated, he enjoyed Dash's torment but when Rarity got humiliated, the one who saved him from extinction... well.... something snapped in Vergil's self-consciousness.
"THAT IS ENOUGH!!!!" He shouted.
He then jumped high into the air and landed hard on the stage causing a shock wave to go throughout Ponyville.
"If you think your gonna get away with humiliating these innocent ponies. Then you have another thing coming. You claim your the best.... But your nothing more than a fake, a charlatin and a side of flim-flam." He said.
Everypony then gasped that such pony was making such accusations.
"Well lookie what we have here. Another neigh-slayer. And a newbie. And he claims that the Great and Powerful Trixie is nothing more than a fake? Well let's see who the real fake here is.... you misguided foal." Trixie said.
"... Let us see who the fool is." Vergil said coldly.
Trixie's horn glowed and then out of nowhere monsters came out of nowhere and they advanced on the dark slayer. He blocked their attacks with his sheathed sword and then unsheathed it and then did an upper slash on one monster cutting it in half and blood spilling on the ground. The next monster came at him but Vergil responded with a Yamato Combo which left the monster in pieces and more blood spilling. The dark slayer then sheathed his sword. Two monsters advanced on Vergil but he Upper Slashed them sending them up into the air and jumping up and did an Aerial Rave. When Vergil landed he was safe, the two monsters were cut into threes and even more blood spilled. He then looked over at the last monster and performed a Rapid Slash thrusting Yamato deep into the monster and pulled it out by pulling up through the monsters head as blood sprayed all over the audience. Vergil looked at his hair and saw that it went down like Dante's and sighed and pushed it back to it's original form. Trixie was shocked and at the same time scared. So was the audience. A pony just killed a couple monsters and in term cutting them into pieces without the least bit of remorse.
"B-b-b-b-b-b. That means nothing. It just prooves never to send a mindless creature to do a unicorn's job." Trixie said nervously. She then fired magic blasts toward Vergil. He simply sighed as his horn started glowing and his Summond Swords appeared. He then thrust his hoof forward sending them flying and piercing through the blasts and destroying them. They were about to hit Trixie but they just landed around her.
"Uh-uh-uh-uh-uh. That was just... dumb luck." The boaster unicorn stuttered.
She then produced a bundle of clones around Vergil.
"Let's see if you can guess who the real one is."
"I don't have to." Vergil said coldly.
Suddenly in a flash lightning Beowulf appeared on his hooves. He then lifted them up and laid a couple jabs on the clones until three clones were left. He then rushed towards the first and performed a Beowulf combo and a Starfall. He then laid a a Lunar Phase on the second and for the big finale a Rising Sun on the last clone. The clones then disappeared but not before some blood flowed onto the ground. Then Beowulf disappeared and the dark slayer stared cold daggers at the show pony. At this point Trixie was freaking out... nopony had made this far on one of her shows and nopony had showed such coldness and mercilessnes. She was freaking out so much she was sweating bullets. Vergil then quickly ran up to her and put Yamato up to her neck.
"You call yourself Great and Powerful. But in truth you are Pathetic and Weak. You show off your abilities to gain recognition when you should actually do it to help others. And your magic is weak along with your power. By showing so much you waste it all and you leave yourself open to weakness." The dark slayer said.
He then slid Yamato across Trixie's neck but with not enough force to slit it. But to add to punishment and humiliation he shoved Yamato into Trixie's front hoof.
"This is a punishment for your ignorance."
He then shoved his sword deeper causing more pain for Trixie.
"You should learn not to waste your abilities and power."
He then shoved Yamato so far the entire blade went through her hoof and through her back hoof.
"Might controls everything, and without strength you cannot protect anything. Let alone yourself."
He then quickly heaved Yamato out of Trixie's hooves but still causing pain a little blood to spill and then caused her to fall down onto the ground and failed to get up. He then looked upon his blade and saw blood all over it and then he swiped his sword causing the blood to fling onto Trixie. He then sheathed Yamato and then just trotted off with a cold smirk on his face. At this point everypony's mind was blown..... not the good kind and not the literal kind. First the new pony killed monsters without a care in the world and now he had just injurred a civilian with extreme coldness and viciousness. And his 'Might controls everything' speech really freaked them out. For the Mane Six and Spike they were extremely shocked... Especially Rarity and Twilight. The one who had helped him and the one who let him live in her home had just done terrible acts nopony else would do. Vergil then trotted past the audience as two young ponies named Snips and Snails tried to help thier hero up on the stage. One thought rang throughout Twilight's mind and that thought was,
Vergil...... Why?
Discussion and A Painful Backstory
Twilight burst through the door of the library and shouted,
"VERGIL!!!"
Said dark slayer came down the steps with that same cold look on his face.
"What the hay was all that about?!" Twilight asked.
"Oh you mean that thing with the Pathetic and Weak Trixie?" Vergil guessed.
"Sort of but yes. I can't belive you just deeply wounded her like that!"
"She had it coming and besides she deserved it."
"No she didn't. She was showing off but that didn't mean you had to attack her!!"
"Why are you defending that boastful fool? She humiliated your friends and harmed Rainbow Dash!!!" Vergil shouted.
"Just because she was doing that, yes didn't mean you had to right to jump on that stage and humiliate her even more!!!" Twilight shouted.
"She brought it upon herself. And besides she wasn't the least bit of my equal. She was weak. And like I said to her.... Might controls everything, and without strength you can't protect anything. Let alone yourself." The dark slayer said coldly.
Twilight was then wide-eyed and shocked.
"Is that what you only care about? Power?" She asked.
"In slightest terms..... Yes. The only way you can protect someone is having the power and strength to do it and the might to kill the people who are your enemies. Even if it means you have to rip the power out of someone else." Vergil said.
".... What happened to you?" The lavender unicorn asked.
Vergil was confused by this question.
"What do you mean by that?" He asked.
"No normal pony would be so cold and cruel just like that. Something must have happened to you to make you feel like this. What was it?" Twilight asked.
"..... I refuse to answer that question." Vergil said.
"Please Vergil...... I just want to know what happened to you. I'm worried about you. Like I worry about all my friends." The lavender unicorn said.
"Friends?.... Hm. Where I come from friends don't exist and are merely an illusion." The dark slayer said coldly.
"You mean..... You don't believe in friendship. But it's the most precious thing to a ponies heart."
"Friendship?! You mean to tell me you believe in such useless sentimentality? To a pony's heart?" Vergil raised his left hoof to his face, he turned it a little to left to hide half his face from view. "Tell me, if friendship is truly more important than anything else- Why are there kings and queens? Why is there a need for money? Why are there monsters, when you could've used your friendship to tame or make them your friends? Why does Trixie need to boast?" Vergil pulled his hoof back from his face to stare her down. "If pony's hearts are indeed filled with friendship- Then why are you studying about friendship now? Why not before? And if you are still learning about friendship- Why are you telling me this? Why not some pony that has had friends a lot longer? Why are you here, and not your friends trying to tell me I'm wrong?" Vergil turned to look back at the door. "Do you think deep down, that they also thought she had it coming? That they agree with me in some way? If they are your friends, why are they letting you talk to me all by yourself, instead of supporting you? Tell me." The dark slayer said.
Twilight was dumbfounded. This former human was saying that there are others things more important than friendship and that he's saying that she had no reason to come here? And to top it all off he said that her friends all agreed that Trixie deserved what she got and that's why she was here alone because they felt that this creature was right and didn't care about supporting her? She tried to say something but she couldn't find the words.
"Let me tell you my story and maybe you'll realize that your the one that's wrong." He said.
In my world, technically the demon world, two milleniums ago there was a terrible ruler named Mundus, the Prince of Darkness and ruler of the demon world. His closest advisor was the Legendary Dark Knight Sparda, my father. Eventually he saw the darkness and true intentions and tyrantness in Mundus and an epic war began between the mortals and the demons. Sparda won and sealed the Dark Emperor in a marble vault. He then used his own blood, the blood of a priestess, with the help of a magic amulet and his sword to seal the demon world from the human world. He was recognized at the greatest warrior ever known and ruled the human world witha kind heart. However he vanished but reapeared in the twentith century, disguised as a human. He then met a beautiful woman and fell in love with her. Her name was Eva, my mother. They got married and lived the rest of their days in the demon world where Eva gave birth to two twin sons: Dante, my brother, and me Vergil. However years later Sparda once again disappeared off the face of the earth. Many people belived he died. Others believed he was taken to another world to watch over it cause he knew that the human world no longer needed him. Eva was heartbroken but she took it upon herself to take care of me and Dante. However years passed and me and Dante grew apart. We had different interests, personalities and different views of fun. We were always fighting but Eva, our mother, told us to always stick together no matter what.... My father, Sparda told me that too..... In a dream. Unfortunately her life was very short. During our eighth birthday we were each given two amulets that contained two pictures of her. Dante was very excited.... I actually preferred choclate. Then...... They came. Blood-seeking demons came out from nowhere and attacked us. We were forced to hide. That was when mother said to me,
"Vergil. I'll hold them off so you and Dante can escape."
"But Mommy. You can't...... You'll be killed for sure." I said.
"Your father risked everything to save humanity. And now I'm doing the same to you. Now go.... run and don't look back." She said.
My brother got the message pretty clear and took off with me following behind. But I was worried about my mother so I turned back and hid behind a door. That was when I saw that the demons had caught up to her and.... and they...... killed her. They tore her to pieces and I couldn't do a thing because I was so young. It was there that they took off. I was left there..... heart broken. I kept telling myself that was this was just a horrible dream.... but it wasn't. Dante eventually found me and saw mother.
"Mommy."
"... It's my fault."
"Huh?"
"She was right there and I could have saved her.... But I didn't. I didn't have the might. I didn't have the strength. I didn't have the power."
"Come on brother. Don't be so hard on...."
"NO! It's my fault that she's dead. I could have saved her but I didn't and now she's dead and our father is nowhere to be found!!!"
I then walked away from my brother and he said,
"Where are you going?"
"I'm going to the human world...... There's nothing keeping me here. And don't try and stop me."
"But Vergil.... We're brothers and family sticks together. That's what daddy and mommy told us."
"But they are not here anymore. Mother is dead and father is missing..... We need to go our seperate ways. Whether or not we see each other again may not be told."
I then just ran off, tears in my eyes. I got to the nearest portal and got the human world. I tried to fit in with society but I just couldn't. I had to live off of my surroundings. All I had left was mother's amulet and father's sword, Yamato. It was there I realized something. I may have not been able to save Eva because I didn't have enough power. I needed to gain as much as possible and possibly even the power of Sparda, himself. Then I would finally fit in with society and I despised humanity for not being there to help me in my darknest needs. It was there I said to myself,
"Might controls everything, and without strength no-one can protect anything. Let alone themselves."
As the years passed by I returned to the Demon World and to the library. I searched through the books looking for a way to gain the ultimate power. It was there I was approached by a man named Arkham. He convinced me that in order to gain the power of Sparda... Humanity had to cease to exist. I followed with his plan and then I sent him as a messenger to my brother, Dante. When we met again at the top of Temin-Ni-Gru, the tower that sealed the humans from the demons, we fought against each other. I won of course and stuck my sword through him and then ended our battle with one final strike. But I knew that Dante wasn't dead. Because a demon can't die. The second time we fought I relied on the demon arm Beowulf. However we were interrupted by another demon named Jester who was in fact Arkham who didn't really try to help me but help himself to the power of Sparda. It was then I knew we had to join forces to stop him and he also had help from another human named Lady, I never knew her real name. When me and my brother fought Arkham our combined powers were enough to defeat him. We then realized that our amulets had fallen into a dark hole and we dived after them. It was there I gained the power of Force Edge, Sparda's most powerful sword. We then fought each other for the last time and Dante defeated me. When I was about to fall Dante tried to help me but I told him if he didn't want to be trapped in the Demon World he would have to let me go. I then took my first step off of the edge of the Demon World and Dante again tried to help but I merely sliced his hand and I fell into the dark abyss. It was there I enveloped in a bright light. And that's pretty much how I ended up in Equestria.
"Now do you see what I'm saying. The foolish humans left me behind to live a life of misery. I wanted to make friends with them but they rejected it. I tried to stand up to a big bully and viciously beat him to a pulp. Even though they cheered for me I knew deep inside they were afraid of me and would never be friends with me." The dark slayer said.
"N-n-n-n... No your wrong... they're my friends and they'd never do anything to hurt me." Twilight said.
"Oh really? Haven't they ever done anything to make you angry, upset and furious?" Vergil asked.
"Well.... Rainbow Dash tends the crash through my ceiling a lot and pull pranks on me, Applejack sometimes refuses to have me help with things, Fluttershy can sometimes be a little scared and not be able to fulfil some duties I give her, Rarity tends to be a critic when I try to pick out an outfit when I think it's nice and Pinkie Pie tends to surprise me from behind, pull pranks too and is a little weird at times." The lavender unicorn said.
"And do they ever apologize?" the dark slayer asked.
"Well yeah." Twilight answered
"ALLLL the time?" Vergil asked again but with a smirk.
"Um.... Well when you think about it.... They don't apologize every time." The lavender unicorn said.
"Heh..... Just as I thought." Vergil said.
He then trotted upstairs to the guest room and Twilight followed.
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"You just said that your friends don't apologize ALL the time. That means that they don't fully belive that they are sorry for their mistakes and merely do those things to you on purpose." Vergil said.
"NO they don't!" Twilight shouted.
"Blinded by false friendship. They don't really care about you.... they merely hang around you because of your great and powerful energy in magic and merely wait for the right time in the right place to take advantage of your magic." Vergil retaliated.
"They would never take advantage of me!!!" The lavender unicorn shouted.
"Heh.... Never huh? Maybe you need to see what they're doing to realize that they're not your friends but in fact trying to take advantage of you and that they think that Trixie did have to be punished. They might also possibly have more important things to worry about than your ridiculous 'friendship.'" Vergil said.
The cold smirk on his face made Twilight worry. His horn then started glowing and then he touched Twilight's head with it and then thoughts from her friends were flowing into her. The thoughts were saying they had important jobs or hobbies they needed to do more than have friendship and they the thoughts were saying that although Trixie was boasting a lot she did kind of deserve it, mostly the thoughts of Rarity, Applejack and Rainbow Dash and that Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie thoughts were saying although they didn't go on the stage they thought that Twilight's magic would be able to keep her quiet so they didn't have to go on. When the spell ended Twilight was wide eyed.
Checkmate. Vergil thought.
"I...I... I don't belive it!!" Twilight shouted.
"It's the truth and the truth and nothing but the truth. They don't care about you at all.... Now you realize that I am right." The dark slayer said.
Twilight's brain felt like it exploded from realization.
"I-i-i-i-i..... I just-just-just... uhhh.... I need to take a trot." She said and then trotted outside.
Looks like my 'fake thought' spell that I got from Miss Twilight's spell book actually worked. I don't like pulling tricks but I can't afford to lose. Especially to a dumb pony who belives in imaginary friendship. Vergil thought smirking to himself.
Realization and an Ursa Attack
Twilight was trotting throughout Ponyville and felt ashamed that all this time her friends had been lying to her (or so she thought.)
I just can't believe it. My friends aren't really my friends. She thought to herself, crestfallen.
"Hey Twilight!" Somepony shouted.
She turned around and saw her 'friends' trot up to her.
"Where've you been darling? We've been looking for you." Rarity said.
"I bet you have.... to try to take advantage of me?!" Twilight shouted.
"Huh? What d'yah mean?" Dash asked.
"Don't play dumb with me... Vergil told me your dirty secret." The lavender unicorn said.
"What dirty secret?" Applejack asked.
"That the reason you stick around with me is to take advantage of my powers." Twilight said.
The others were kind of confused by this.
"Twilight, you know us better than that." Pinkie said.
"Well I apparently don't. Vergil showed me the truth thanks to his mind reader spell." Twilight said.
"Um..... I was thinking how great you are and how Vergil was really mean to Trixie." Fluttershy said.
"That's what we were all thinking." Rarity said.
Realization then struck Twilight like a torpedo. Her eyes started twitching as she got really mad and so mad that her mane caught on fire.
"THAT DIRTY TRICKSTER!!!!! HE USED A FAKE THOUGHT SPELL!!!! WHEN I FIND HIM I AM GOING TO HAVE TO MAKE HIM REGRET HE DID THAT!!!!!" She shouted.
She then took off quick with flames going behind her.
Vergil looked at his watch and counted off,
"Five... Four.... Three.... Two.... One."
Immediately on schedule Twilight burst through the door of the guest room and shouted,
"VERGILLLLL!!!!!"
"Right on time." Vergil said smirking.
"HOW DARE YOU TOY WITH MY EMOTIONS!!!" The lavender unicorn shouted.
"I can't aford to lose..... Especially to an idiotic mare who believes the foolish of lies." The dark slayer said.
"YOU NO GOOD, INCONSIDERATE, DECIETFUL......" Twilight started but was cut short by Yamato by her neck.
"Finish that insult and I will cut your neck in two." He said.
Suddenly pounding went throughout the town.
"What's going on?" Vergil asked.
"Oh no. Please tell me it's not what I think it is." Twilight said.
The two ran outside and saw with their own eyes a giant bear that looked like it was a part of the stars.
"What the hell is that thing?!" Vergil shouted.
"It's an Ursa Major!!!" Twilight shouted.
"An Ursa what? That's a star concelation." The dark slayer said.
"Yes it is but this is the type of Ursa Major that's real." The lavender unicorn said,
"How did it get into Ponyville?"
"We brought the ursa to town." Somepony said.
And up came Snips and Snails.
"You WHAT?!" Twilight shouted.
"Don't worry the Great and Powerful Trixie will stop it." Snails said.
Vergil and Twilight saw that Trixie was right behind them and was freaking out but her wounds on her hooves were wrapped up.
"I can't." She said.
"WHAT?" Snips and Snails said confused.
"Oh, I can't, I never have. No one can vanquish an Ursa Major. I just made the whole story up to make me look better." Trixie said.
"I knew it." The dark slayer said,
"Well there's an old saying: Nothing is un-vanquishable. And I'm going to prove it by taking Winnie the Pooh over there down."
"What?! Don't do it!!!" Twilight shouted.
"Twilight is right. You'll be killed on the spot. Trixie won't let you!!" Trixie said.
"Now you worry about somepony else? I'm flattered.... but I can take care of myself. And I've taken down bigger, uglier and scarier things than this thing. So I'm sure I know what I'm doing." Vergil said.
He then trotted right up to the Ursa and it seemed to notice him. The Ursa then roared right into his face and surprisingly Vergil was unaffected. He then unsheathed Yamato and jabbed it into the Ursa's right eye. The giant beat roared in pain and then slashed one of its claws but Vergil jumped out of the way and landed on top of the Ursa's head. He then jabbed Yamato into the giant bears' head and thrust it deep down and then pulled it out causing blood to spill onto the ground. He then slid down the Ursa with Yamato's blade slashing down the giant bears back and causing a lot of pain to the bear. When he got back onto the ground he flicked the blood off of his sword and then noticed his hair swept down and fixed it back to the hairstyle he preferred. But unfortunately without warning the Ursa grabbed Vergil and started squeesing him, threw him down onto the ground, squished him, picked him up again, threw him into a building and then jabbed one of it's claws into Vergil leaving a few of them stuck in him. Vergil was groaning in pain and then felt the wind out of him and then fell limp. Twilight looked upon the mess that was Vergil and tried hard to hold back tears,
No. Don't let it be. She thought.
.......
"It appears your better than I thought." Vergil's voice said.
Twilight's eyes opened and found that Vergil was still alive. He then got out of his position and then forcefully pulled out the sharp toes of the Ursa out of him with some of his blood pouring out but quickly healing.
"I guess I've underestimated you Ursa." He finished.
He then put on a cold smile and brought his left hoof to his face.
"But now...." He started.
Suddenly a weird circle of electricity appeared under him and went straight up his body. His body then started metamorphasizing and it looked completely different. He then removed the hoof from his face and then saw that it had changed as well and he had grown wings.. Vergil had activated his Devil Trigger. He then had a sword holster on his left hoof with Yamato in it. He unsheathed it and pointed it at the Ursa who was very confused and scared as well as the other citizens of Ponyville.
NOW I FEEL MOTIVATED!!! He finished with rage and venom in his tone.
He then dashed towards the Ursa with extroadinary speed and jumped right into it. He then thrust Yamato out of its body and back in and over and over again until almost all of the Ursa's body had gore cuts and then Vergil jumped out of the Ursa via the mouth and stabbed his last good eye and then cut right down his front down to the ground. He then pulled Yamato out of the Ursa and it fell onto the ground with a pool of blood flowing out of it. It was however still alive... barely. The Ursa then looked upon the demonized Vergil with absolute terror in its eyes. Vergil then got in front of the Ursa's head and lifted Yamato above his head.
IT'S PRETTY CLEAR THAT YOU CAN UNDERSTAND ME. GOOD. YOU DARE TO COME TO PONYVILLE AND THREATEN ITS CITIZENS. FOR THIS HORRIBLE ATROCITY I WILL EXECUTE YOU PERSONALLY. REST IN PEACE. He said.
He then brought the sword as quickly as possible and the Ursa was awaiting the final blow.
"VERGIL! STOP!!" Twlight shouted.
Vergil quickly stopped and the sword was inches away from the Ursa. He turned his head and said,
WHY SHOULD I? THIS ACURSED BEAR HAS DISRUPTED US AND BROUGHT HARM UPON PONYVILLE. AND NOW IT SHALL DIE. AND IT APPEARS I WILL BE THE FIRST PONY TO SLAY AN URSA MAJOR. Vergil said.
"But you can't." The lavender unicorn pleaded.
WHY?! The dark slayer asked.
"Because..... It's not an Ursa Major... It's an Ursa Minor...... A baby." Twilight said.
Vergil was taken aback by this. He hated humanity but he wasn't above harming infants and babies. He then sheathed Yamato on his sword holster on his arm and then changed back to his pony form and the arm holster turned into his regular sword holster and jumped off of the Ursa and right next to Twilight. She then trotted up to the Ursa and lit up her horn and gently levitated the Ursa Minor and healed all of its wounds and started rocking it back and forth and then brought a giant bottle of milk into its mouth and then sent it back to where it came from.
"That was just a baby?" Trixie said confused.
"Apparently it was. I almost killed a baby... Surprisingly." Vergil said.
"Huh. You may have vanquished an Ursa Minor, but you will never have the amazing, show-stopping ability of the Great and Powerful Trixie!" The boastful unicorn shouted causing a smoke screen and trotting off.
"Why that little..." Dash started.
"Don't..... Allow me." The dark slayer said.
His horn lit up and threw four summonded swords and they thrusted right through Trixie's front and back hooves severely leaving them disabled.
"OOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWW!!!!!" Trixie shouted.
"Heh. She got what was coming." Vergil said with a cold smirk.
Trixie then had to started crawling and groaning.
"Somepony help Trixie." The boastful pony said.
The dark slayer then trotted up to the Golden Oakes Library, opened the door and shut it behind him.
What was that form he was in earlier? It looked like he had become...... a demon. *gasp* Then that means.... He's not only a human..... but he's half-demon as well. Twilight thought amazed, surprised and shocked. Everypony else was shocked as well. First this new pony took out a whole bundle of monsters without remorse and injurred Trixie now he severely harmed an Ursa Minor, a baby with rage and remorseless and had severely injurred Trixie.... again. At this point everypony was really terrified of Vergil and quickly ran back into their houses and locked their doors and windows leaving the mane six outside.
"What in tarnation is he?" Applejack asked.
"I knew he was trouble when I first laid eyes on him." Dash said.
Five of the girls went back home leaving Twilight mouth opened so open it was down to the ground.
I have to know what he is. He said that his father was a demon and his mother was human. Then that means he inherrited his fathers demon like appearence as well. This is so exciting. She thought to herself.
Vergil was sleeping through most of the day and some sunlight got onto him and he tried to block it with his hoof. Suddenly the sunlight went away and the dark slayer relaxed and went back to sleep. He slept for a couple minutes unitl he heard a flash and woke up. He snuck outside and looked downstairs. Twilight was down there but in front of her was a really large, thin white pony with a horn and wings. Her mane and tail were rainbow colered like Dash's but more elegant and her mane was flowing in the air. Her cutie mark was the sun and had a royal tiara on her head and a crest around her neck. He listened in on their conversation.
"What?" Twilight asked.
"It appears a dragon has fallen asleep in a cave above Ponyville and the smoke is coming from it." The large pony said.
"That's not good." The lavender unicorn said.
"I'm personally sending you, my faithful student on a mission: Gather your fellow friends, go up to the dragon and convince it somehow to take its nap somewhere else or else this smoke will continue for the next couple months."
"Very well. I shall do this task, Princess Celestia."
"Yes.... And you might want to bring Vergil up there." Celestia said.
Vergil was taken aback when the royal pony looked up. She knew he was there the whole time listening?
"So you were able to detect me. I must congragulate you for that...... I guess." He said.
He then jumped down to the bottom floor.
"It appears we haven't been properly introduced. I'm Vergil. And you are...?"
"Celestia. Princess Celestia." The royal pony said.
"A princess huh. So you must be royalty." The dark slayer said bowing in respect.
"I've heard a lot about you Vergil. And about your past and your time here in Equestria." Celestia said.
".... So that means you've heard about the Ursa attack?" Vergil asked.
"Yes.... And I must say I'm very proud. Not many ponies.... Or in this case former humans/demons fight an Ursa and live." The Princess said.
"I guess I'm one of the lucky ones." The dark slayer said.
"It wasn't luck.... It was shear brain power and strength. You risked your life to save all of Ponyville and back at Trixie's show you defended mine and my friends dignity." Twilight said.
"Yes I knew about that as well. Although I know of your sad past each minute you stay in Ponyville I feel a change in you. Your becoming just like your mother." Celestia said and disappeared in a flash.
"How did she know that? And what kind of pony has both wings and a horn?" The dark slayer asked.
"There are things even I don't know about Princess Celestia and she happens to be an Alicorn, a pony with both wings and a horn. The Alicorns are a part of a royal family that goes back centuries." Twilight said.
"..... Learn a new fact about this place everyday." Vergil said,
"Indeed. Now let's get the girls together and get the dragon to sleep somewhere else." The lavender unicorn said.
"How exactly?" The dark slayer asked.
"We could convince it and ask it nicely." Twilight said.
"... Ask it nicely? In my world in the middle ages the way people handled dragon problems was slaying them." Vergil explained.
Twilight was silent. In Vergil's world the people slayed dragons instead of trying to brefriend them? Well his world did work differently than there's.
"Let's just get going." The lavender unicorn said.
"Very well." The dark slayer said.
He then quickly rushed upstairs and grabbed Yamato and ran back down.
"Let's go." He said.
The journey up the mountain wasn't exactly easy, mostly because Fluttershy didn't want to because she was scared of dragons and they had to deal with an avalanche which slowed them down extremely. But eventually they made it to the cave and Twilight said,
"Alright everypony. I'll go in first and try to reason with him."
"I still say this is a waste of time and we should just slay the dragon." Vergil objected.
"No! There will be no slaying after what happened last time with the Ursa." The lavender unicorn said.
"It was necessary and it was attacking our town and I had to protect it." The dark slayer countered.
"That doesn't matter. We're sticking to the plan." Twilight said.
She then turned towards the cave, gulped and then trotted inside. The gang waited for awhile and Twilight came back out with a disapointed look.
"He's more stubborn then he looks." Twilight said.
"Allow me, darling. I'll charm that handsome dragon into leaving." Rarity said.
She then trotted inside and after a while she came back out with a disapointed look.
"That dragon is beyond charming and he has a whole collection of treasure that he won't share and he was very rude." The white unicorn said.
"Alright! That's it!" Dash shouted and flew right in.
"YOU GOTTA GO!!!!" Her voice shouted and a buck was heard and then a loud roar.
Vergil smirked coldy.
I knew this was going to happen He thought.
A screaming Rainbow Dash then came flying out with an enraged dragon following behind. Fluttershy was so scared she hid behind a rock. The dragon then breathed fire towards our heroes but Vergil dodged to the side while Twilight casted a shield around her and the rest of her friends. The fire was unfortunately too strong and broke the shield causing them to richochet into another rock and go into pain. Vergil then looked and saw that most of his friends were hurt and Fluttershy was terrified. He then had an angry look on his face as he gripped Yamato and stepped towards the dragon.
"Have you come to challange me as well?!!!!" It shouted.
"Not challange.... Fight to the death. You harmed my friends and that is something I will not let go lightly." Vergil said.
"Ha!!! Your just a mere pony." The dragon said.
"I defeated an Ursa without breaking a sweat..... I can do the same to you." The dark slayer said coldly.
The dragon then started growling and then breathed fire but Vergil jumped up and landed on the dragon's head and then jabbed Yamato hard into it. The dragon roared in pain but still lived. Vergil then yanked Yamato out and then did rapid slashes across the dragon and then sliced down the dragon's entire front. However the dragon was still standing and took a chance and wacked the dark slayer with it's tail and into the rock Fluttershy was hiding behind and was destroyed. Vergil then got up wearily as the dragon stared at him but fell down onto the ground weak and felt his consciousness fading fast and then saw nothing but darkness.

"Well! I've seen big things before but this tops them all." A voice went.
Vergil opened his eyes wide quickly.
That voice. Can it be? He thought.
He looked up and on top of the cave was a red pegasus with white hair that was swept down with cyan eyes. It was wearing a red trench coat with the right sleeve torn apart. It also looked exactly like Vergil and then he stared at the pegasus and whispered,
"Dante."
"Another pony wishing to challange MEEEEEE!!!!!!" The dragon roared.
"Woaaaaaaahhhh. That is some serious bad breath you got there. Ever heard of a breath mint?" Dante cockily said.
"Grrrrrrr!!!! You shall pay for your ignorance." The dragon growled.
"Heh. Then let's get it on." The red pegasus said.
He then did a couple bucks and punches and got into a bruce lee like stance and then waved his hoof to taunt the dragon.
"Come on. Let's see what the hell you got." He said.
The dragon breathed fire towards Dante but he jumped out of the way fast and drew his trusty guns Ebony and Ivory and fired bullets rapidly which pierced the dragon's skin causing plenty of blood to spill everywhere. The demon hunter then grabbed something on his back: A giant sword: Rebellion and then stabbed it through the dragon's stomach and then did many additional jabs and and one final stab causing the dragon to richochet into the cave entrance and collapse it. Dante then smirked and put Rebellion back on his back and trotted up to the dragon and said,
"Now listen here fellah. Considering you can understand me perfectly I'm gonna give you two choices."
He then held out one hoof.
"One: You can take off now and save yourself the embaressment of having your wings plucked."
He then held out his other hoof.
"Two: We'll see just how many lives a dragon's got."
"Are you threatning me?!!!!! I'll crush you right here!!!!" The dragon shouted.
"Guess it's choice number two." Dant said.
Then in one quick slash the dragon's head was clean off of the body and spurting blood everywhere with a smiling Dante with blood on his sword but flicked it off and put it on it's back.
"And that's how you slay an ugly bitch dragon." He said.
Everypony was very shocked, including Fluttershy who didn't feel really good and then threw up over the cliff.
"T-t-t-that was.... horrible." She said.
"I know... which is why I should of told you to shut your eyes considering that part was for the adults." The demon hunted said.
He then eyed the ponies and stopped on one paticular pony: Vergil.
"Hello... brother." The dark slayer said.
"Vergil." The demon hunter said.
The two then stared at each other with cold viciousness and Twilight decided to break the silence.
"Vergil..... Is this your brother?"
"Yes that's my brother.... Dante, the demon hunter." He answered.
"And the fastest, slickest, handsomist one in the world." Dante boasted.
Vergil groaned at his brother's ignorance.
"Well that was rather cruel." Rarity said.
"Well, well, well whatta we got here?" The demon hunter asked.
He scooted towards Rarity with a sexy smile.
"Hey... What's your name?"
"Well... My names Rarity. And I'm not interested in dating." The white unicorn said.
"Your loss." Dante said.
"Is there no woman you won't try to charm?" Vergil asked.
"Hey..... Don't hate the player hate the game." The demon hunter said.
Everyone was then just staring at the two brothers with shere weirdness.
"Ooooooookay." Rainbow Dash said.
"Well how am I going to explain a dead dragon body on the cliff where the dragon is supposed to be sleeping?" Twilight asked.
"No biggee. I got this. There's no problem I can't handle." Dante said.
He then readied his wings and flew around in a tornado and the dragon body was sent flying into outer space. When the demon hunter stopped spinning he dusted himself off.
"There... Problem solved." He said.
"Wooooooah..... That..... Was...... AWESOMEEE!!!!!" Dash shouted,
"Your so fast I've never seen a pegasus so fast like that..... Oh wait I am that fast."
"Please..... If your faster than I am the Queen of Spain." Dante said.
"What's Spain?" Twilight asked.
"Whoa..... Are you dumb. You live in the world and don't know where mexican city of spain is? And people say I'm an idiot." The demon hunter said.
Vergil facehoofed himself.
Idiot. He thought.
"Hey! I happen to be very smart..... And I happen to know ever place in Equestria." The lavender unicorn said offended.
"Ooooooh so that's the name of this place.......... Which is a stupid name if you ask me and I thought Fortuna was a dumb name." Dante said.
"Hey! That's what Vergil said when he got here." Rarity said.
"Really? Hear that bro? Great minds think alike." The demon hunter said patting him on the back.
"Don't touch me." Vergil said pushing his brother's hoof off.
"Well since the problem's been taken care of..... Where't the nearest pizza joint?" Dante asked.
"What's pizza?" Twilight asked.
"... You seriously haven't heard of pizza? Looks like your dumber than I thought. And seriously lacking and need to evolve." The demon hunter criticized.
Everypony growled in annyoance and anger.
"Please do forgive my brother he can be......... complicated at times." The dark slayer said.
"Well do you at least know where I can get a strawberry sundae?" The demon hunter asked.
"O-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o I know I know. Follow me to Ponyville and to Sugercube Corner." Pinkie Pie said rapidly and then took off really fast.
"..... I've seen a lot of weird things..... But she tops them all." Dante said.
"This your town?" Dante asked after getting a glance at Ponyville.
"Eeyup." Applejack said.
"... Well I gotta say it's a lot cleaner than my place." The demon hunter said.
"Well.... How about the ten-bit tour?" Dash asked,
"Only 20% cooler?"
"Well looks like someone knows how to have a good time.... Unlike some other ponies. " The demon hunter said glaring at the other ponies and Vergil.
The two then took off flying.
I give him twenty minutes before he starts causing trouble. Vergil thought.
"Vergil..... Why's your brother a jerk?" Twilight asked.
"I said he can be complicated at times." The dark slayer said.
"Well Ah'm not so sure that your brother's got any kind of manners." Applejack said.
"He's not much for being nice. And he's a fool." Vergil said.
"Well that's not a very nice thing to say about your brother." Fluttershy said.
"I know.... That's because I deeply despise him." Vergil said darkly.
Everypony gasped at that comment. Vergil hated his brother? Many brothers do have trouble getting along but to actually meet somepony who actually deeply hates his other brother? That's unheard of.
"He doesn't exactly like me either." The dark slayer added.
"Why?" The lavender unicorn asked.
A thought went through Vergil's head to the day where they fought each other at the top of Temin-Ni-Gru where he fatally wounded his brother and stabbed him viciously with his own sword.
"Our relationship is......... complicated." the dark slayer said.
"Well have you ever considered giving your brother a chance to help you out?" Pinkie Pie asked.
"The only way he could help is help make a mess of things." Vergil said insultingly.
Suddenly a giant crashing noise was heard and shouting voices.
"HEY!!!! THIS GUY'S NUTS!!!!"
"Maybe this'll teach you a lesson." Dante's voice said.
Vergil groaned.
"I knew this would happen." He said.
"What?" The orange cowpony asked.
"It appears my brother has gotten himself into a fight." Vergil answered.
Our heroes than trotted off in the direction of Ponyville.
Dante was beating the crap out of a gang and having a hell of a good time.
"Have another.... and another." He went pounding the shit out of the gang.
The demon hunter had just finished bucking the last gang member and all three of them were on the ground weak.
"P-p-p-p-p-p-please don't hurt us anymore. We give up!!" The leader shouted.
"Sorry but I don't go for the giving up types." Dante said drawing Ivory,
"I go for the never mess with others ever again types."
He was about to fire a bullet when he heard someone shout,
"THAT IS ENOUGH!!!"
He turned around and saw his brother Vergil with the most infuriated look on his face with the others.
"Stop this madness at once."
"Hey but out of this, bro. I'm just keeping Dash over there safe from those idiots who made fun of her." Dante said.
"Well here's a news flash, Dante. You're not exactly the most trustworthy person for protection." Vergil said.
"What's that supposed to mean?!" The demon hunter shouted.
"It means you stink at protecting people!!!" The dark slayer shouted back.
"Well I know what I am great at... Giving guys a beatdown!!!" Dante shouted unsheathing Rebellion.
"Please I'll cut you down so many times a doctor won't know what stiching to use." Vergil said unsheathing Yamato.
The two then stared down each other with glaring fury. They then charged each other as they're weapons clashed together but before they could strike again they will pulled apart.
"Please stop." Twilight's voice said.
Her horn was glowing and they found they were caught in a magical aura.
"I really appreciate it if you would not fight." She said.
"Yeah.... You might cause some destruction." Dash said.
"Hey. I'm the one who protected you from those idiots." Dante said.
"Well I didn't ask for your protection." The blue pegasus said.
"Well you sure sounded like you needed it." The demon hunter said.
"Okay let's not split hairs." Twilight said.
She eventually released the two demon brothers as Vergil placed Yamato back into it's holster and Dante placed Rebellion onto his back.
"Now that that's settled Mr. Dante.... Considering you might be here for awhile until I find a spell to send you two back.... Where would you like to live?" She asked.
"Well I don't know maybe.... I'm sticking with Rainbow fricking awesome Dash here." He said quickly.
"Okay fine..... You can stay with me." Dash said.
"Great.... So where's your house?" The demon hunter asked.
"It's a cloud house all the way over there.... Don't worry pegasi can stand on clouds so you won't worry about falling through." The blue pegasus said.
"That's pretty cool for a very..... confident and awesome pony like yourself." Dante said turning on his charm.
Dash blushed at that comment as the two took off.
"Oi..... My brother's trying to get a girlfriend...... He's really bad at trying to pick up a date." The dark slayer said.
"You don't say huh?" Twilight asked.
"I'll let him have his fun but I highly doubt he's going to get her as his date." The dark slayer said.
"So this your place huh?" Dante asked.
"Yep, pretty rad huh?" Dash answered.
"Yep." The demon hunter said.
He then trotted around the house and admired ever detail.
"A lot cleaner than my shop: Devil May Cry."
"Devil May Cry? What's that?" The blue pegasus asked.
"My shop, place of business, headquarters. It's a demon hunting business. I travel around my town and sometimes all over the world in search of demons and when I find them I slay them. Just like that dragon." Dante said.
"Wow.... That's a radical job. I'm a weather manager. I make the weather here in Ponyville." Dash said.
"You control the weather? Where I'm from the weather works naturally." The demon hunter explained.
"Really? What's your world like?" Dash asked.
"It's a mess.... well where I live everything else is fine. Everyday I look at my town and see the buildings rotted, the people sick and dying and it's crawling with thieves and gangs waiting the lay the smackdown on the people and take their valuables." Dante said,
"But this place...... It's so peaceful. All the denizens are nice, everyone gets along and I haven't seen one demon. Kind of like my own personal vacation."
He then scooted a chair and laid on it while leaning on the chair and putting his back hooves on a table.
"Your world seems very..... sad." The blue pegasus said.
"You haven't seen sad yet.... Back in my original world: the demon world when me and Vergil were eight years old our mother gave us each a part of our father Sparda's perfect amulet. However my bro wanted choclate instead, he was more fun back then and less cold. But then it happened. Demons broke into our home with intention to kill us. I wanted to help but mom told me not to move from a hiding spot at all. I waited for her to come back but when I looked up I saw her.... on the ground.... in pieces.... dead." Dante said in a very sad tone,
"It really hurt for Vergil..... he blamed himself for her death but I tried to calm him down but he just wouldn't listen and that was the last time I saw him.... till a couple years later."
He then reached into his coat and pulled his half of the amulet and turned it over which had the words 'Spada and Eva' on it.
"I'm so sorry." Dash said.
"Don't be. I just sometimes lay awake at night wishing for her to come back..... Well I know my father, Sparda, is alive but I just don't where he is. He went missing for years." Dante said.
He then put the amulet back in his coat.
"Well I'm done with this stroll down memory lane. I'm gonna hit the sack." The demon hunter said.
He trotted up the stairs and the blue pegasus said,
"I know what your going through."
"Huh?" Dante said confused.
"I haven't seen my folks in a long time. After I graduated from school I moved to Ponyville and they haven't visited me ever since." Dash answered,
"It hurts when you can't see your own family."
"I know. But my bro's here. But we don't exactly get along. We have different points of view. I like having fun and he's obsessed with trying to get ultimate power. I always wonder what he's gonna do with that power. Just thinking about it just worries me." The demon hunter said,
"Okay now it's time I hit the hay. Night."
He then trotted again until he found the guest room and closed the door. He hanged his coat on a rack and put Rebellion on a table and then laid on his bed and then looked at his flank and at his cutie mark: His sword Rebellion and his guns Ebony and Ivory.
Dash sure knew how to handle her pain. I had to deal with the pain of my mother's death for years but she looks fine. And that...... rainbow mane that flows in the wind and her smile that could shine the world.... WAIT WHAT AM I THINKING??!! I'm supposed to get the girl to fall for me not the other way around.... but that speed it's so fast I can barely keep my eyes on her...... If I could catch up to her I'd have a little 'fun' with her in any position I want and any time I.... DOH!!! Stop it brain. The demon hunter thought argued to his brain.
He then eventually tired himself out and fell asleep.
Vergil tossed and turned in his own bed and kept having trouble sleeping.
Why is my brother here? Aren't supposed to be the only one who has to go through torture? Well I do remember there being a shining light above me before a light veil surrounded me...... That light must of brought Dante here. He thought to himself,
Yet he seemed different. Not the usual cocky, hotheaded brother I know.... Well he's still that but he also protected Rainbow Dash........ Has he changed as much as I am? I'll worry about that some other time.
Vergil was still sleeping and then suddenly heard a sound outside that sounded like a lot of flapping. He opened the shades and saw a bajillion colored balls with eyes and mouths and wings fluttering around and eating all the food.
"What the hell?!" He swore.
He grabbed Yamato off of the table and his coat off of the rack and put it on quickly and then rushed downstairs and said,
"Twilight!!! There's a bajillion filthy bugs outside eating every..... Oh my god."
The same bugs had made they're way in and eating the food. Twilight was trying to get them out by levitating them out.
"Vergil. I'm so glad your up. You gotta help me. Parasprites have invaded Ponyville and are eating everything.... And even worse we gotta get them out as soon as possible because Princess Celestia is going to be here soon." She said.
"Have you tried bug spray?" The dark slayer asked.
"You don't think I have?!" Twilight asked.
Vergil spotted a parasprite chowing on food in a microwave and then slammed it shut and then started the heating process. Then in a matter of seconds the bug exploded into goop.
"Oh... my..." Twilight went witnessing the whole thing and then threw up a little in her mouth.
"Huh... They're easier to kill than I thought. We're going to need a giant microwave and then lead all the parasprites into it and then shut it, heat them up, they explode into goop and problem solved." The dark slayer explained.
"How about a less disgusting and safer plan?" The lavender unicorn asked.
The two then trotted outside and then Twilight lit up her horn and it covered the entire town and the Parasprites.
"There. Now the parasprites will stop eating the food." She said.
That calmness didn't last long because pretty soon after they began eating everything else.
"Great plan.... Now they're gonna eat everything else including the kitchen sink." The dark slayer said,
"Now how about we go back to my plan with the giant microwave."
He heard chewing sounds and found that a couple Parasprites were chewing on Yamato.
"Hey! Mouths off!!" He shouted.
He then cut into pieces getting Yamato free but with bite marks and the blade ruined.
"Can this day get anymore worse or weirder?!!" He asked.
Suddenly the entire town heard the sounds of a bajillion instruments. He looked over and found Pinkie Pie playing all sorts of instruments.
"What is she doing?! We're in the middle of a bug infestation not a battle of the bands!!!" Vergil shouted furiously at Pinkie's stupidity.
However his furiousness didn't last long as the bugs seemed to be entranced by the instrument and Pinkie led them into the Everfree Forest.
"Huh.... It appears I was wrong about Miss Pie..... This time." The dark slayer said.
And on cue a golden chariot came down and on it was Princess Celestia herself.
"Princess Celestia." Twilight said.
When everypony saw they're ruler they bowed in respect and so did Vergil.
"It's quite an honor to meet you once again your majesty." The dark slayer said.
"Please... Call me Celestia, Vergil." The sun princess said.
Suddenly over the hill one Dante eyed the town in shambles. Everypony looked at him in silence and he broke it by saying,
"What did I miss? I slept in."
He then eyed Celestia.
"And who's the tall one?"
"Dante, meet Princess Celestia... Ruler of this fair land. Princess Celestia meet my twin brother, Dante." The dark slayer said.
"Well it's a pleasure to meet you Mr. Dante." Celestia said.
"Ditto." The demon hunter said.
"Although how I'd like to get to know you more Dante I have to report back to Canterlot.... Aparently the throne room has been invaded by very tiny and annoying pests who seem to be eating everything." The princess said.
Vergil then knew she was talking about the Parasprites and quickly as she came she quickly left.
"Okay.... can somebody please explain to me what just happened?" Dante asked.
Vergil went back to bed and then saw something shiny..... he picked it up and saw that it was a ticket to something called the Grand Galloping Gala.
Dante found a ticket in his coat pocket and it was a ticket reading 'This ticket permits Mr. Dante to participate in the Grand Galloping Gala'
"Huh.... Looks like I better stop by the sewing place and find me a suit."
Dante and Vergil, surprisingly, were taking a stroll throughout Sweet Apple Acres admiring the scenery.
"I'm kind of surprised your here." Vergil said.
"Hey. If it wasn't for that blinding light enveloping me I wouldn' be here but then I wouldn't be able to kill that dragon and I would be bored the whole day." Dante said.
Immediately they heard the sound of steel hitting the ground and the voices of Dash and Applejack.
"Hoo-wee! Not a bad pitch for a pony who works with her head in the clouds." The orange pony's voice said.
"Oh yeah? Think you can do better, cowgirl?" The blue pegasus said.
The two demon brothers then made their way towards the two and saw they were playing lucky horseshoes.
"Sup." The demon hunter said.
"How are you doing?" The dark slayer said.
The two noticed the two brothers and said they're greetings.
"Howdy." Applejack said.
"Whas'up?" Rainbow Dash asked.
"Heard your voices and thought we'd come over to see what you were up to." Dante said.
"Well what we were doing was that I was wooping AJ's flank in this game." Dash said.
"I haven't even gone yet so don't hold y'all breath." Applejack said.
They continued to play their game and it ended when the orange cowpony landed a horseshoe around the metal pole.
"Yee-haw! It's a ringer. That's how you do it down here on the farm." She said.
"Congragulations." Vergil said.
Dash was however shocked.
"I lost." She said.
"Ah, don't feel bad, Rainbow. It's all in good fun." The cowpony said.
"Yes. Indeed." The dark slayer said.
"I HATE losing." Dash said.
"Don't feel too bad, Dash. AJ just got lucky." Dante said.
"That wasn't luck." Vergil said.
"Yeah I agree with Vergil here. I'm just the best athlete." Applejack said.
"All right, Applejack, you think you're the top athlete in all of Ponyville?" Dash asked.
"Yeah... You think your pretty good? What about you bro?" The demon hunter asked.
"I did defeat you in a sword fight." The dark slayer said.
"Our score is tied. Besides we know who would win in the end." The demon hunter said.
"Yeah. Vergil." Applejack said.
"Huh? Really? Have you seen Dante slay that dragon without breaking a sweat?" Dash said.
"Well Vergil held his own against Trixie, defeated an Ursa and defeated a Parasprite Invasion." Applejack emphasized.
"Then why don't we put your words to the test." Dante said.
"How?" AJ and Vergil asked.
"We challange you to an Iron Pony competition. A series of athletic contests to decide who's the best, once and for all." The blue pegasus said.
"Huuuuh. That sounds pretty cool. It'll show which one of us is the better brother. Plus it gives us a chance to settle our score." Dante said.
The two teams then stared each other down and said,
"Your on!"
The Iron Pony competition was intense. The two teams were brutal. Especially Dante and Vergil who tried they're very best to beat each other and settle their score. One time in one of the events they tried so hard they ended up wrecking the entire competition. But they fixed everything and in the end Rainbow Dash and Dante prevailed. But Applejack weren't exactly very happy.
"Heh. It appears my hypothesis was correct." Vergil said.
"Huh?" Dash asked.
"You used your wings, specially you brother." The dark slayer said.
"Your point is?" Dante asked.
"Y'all cheated." Applejack said.
"So you never said we couldn't use our wings." The blue pegasus said.
"Not according to that sign." Vergil said.
The two looked at a sign that explained the rules. Especially the rule that forbided the using of pegasus wings and unicorn magic.
"So according to these rules you two are disqualified and Applejack and I are the winners. And now our score is settled, brother." Vergil said.
Dash growled in annoyment and fruestration when she blurted out,
"I challange you to to the Annual Runnin' of the leaves."
"What's that?" Dante and Vergil asked.
"It's a special race where millions of ponies trot across the forest to shake the leaves off of the trees." Applejack said,
"And I accept... On one condition. We forbid the both of y'all to use your wings."
"No wings? No problem." Dash said.
"But you two are on your own. Me and my bro are going against each other." Dante said.
"The winner gets two extra points and the brother who comes behind his other brother loses one point and is the uttermost winner of the family." Vergil said.
Applejack and Rainbow Dash then spit on their hooves and shook them. Dante spit on his hood and stretched it out but Vergil recoiled in disgust.
"I'm not touching that hoof." He said.
"Come on.... Don't be a baby." The demon hunter said.
Vergil sighed then prepared to spit on Dante's hoof.
"Your own hoof." The demon hunter said.
Vergil saw his mistake and spit on his hoof and was disgusted. They eventually shook their hooves with Vergil very disgusted at the saliva on his and his brothers hooves.
In the middle of the night Vergil snuck to Runnin' of the Leaves track and then set up demonic booby traps around the track.
"I can't afford to lose to anyone..... Especially my brother or Applejack or Rainbow Dash."
When he was done he smiled evilly to himself.
"As soon as anyone runs into these traps...... Then I will be the victor for sure."
Dante and Vergil took their places at the starting line. They saw a lot of ponies taking their places including Rainbow Dash, Applejack and surprisingly Twilight Sparkle.
"Hey Twilight I think you're at the wrong place. The egghead convention starts downtown." Dante said.
Vergil slapped his brother in the back of the head.
"Ow! What was that for?!"
"Do not make fun of Miss Sparkle. So help me I will throw you into a bottomless pit of misery and hell." Vergil said ferociousness.
That instantly shut the demon hunter up.
"All right, ponies, are you ready?" Pinkie said.
"Get set." Spike said.
A bell went off and the racers took off. Vergil and Dante were neck and neck and were instantly trying to get ahead of each other while Applejack and Rainbow Dash were in the lead. Vergil knocked Dante on the head which caused Vergil to get ahead of him. He passed each and every contestant till he was up to Dash and AJ. He then saw AJ trip on a rock and he got up to Rainbow Dash. Suddenly a strange circle came over Dash and she was trapped.
"Hey! What is this?!" She shouted.
Vergil smirked and continued running. Dash tried bucking her way out of the circle but couldn't until Dante came up and then slashed the circle with Rebellion and got Dash free.
"What was that?" She asked.
"Looks like a demon trap. And it was blue. Obviously my bro set it there." Dante answered.
"WHAT?! Why that no good, slimy, cheating..." Dash started.
"Hey chill out RD. Vergil was always a sore loser during our childhood. He even resorted to secretly cheating to win." The demon hunter said.
"Heh. Well let's get back in the race." Dash said.
She then saw that Dante was gone and saw that he was way up ahead.
"See you at the finish line!!!" He shouted.
The race got serious although most of the other racers didn't make it, mostly cause of Vergil's demon traps. All of the racers were out except for Twilight, Dash, Applejack, Dante and Vergil. They entered Whitetail Wood and the race got even more serious. Applejack and Dash were resulting to cheating to win although they occasionaly came across Vergil's traps and got slowed down even more. Dante however avoided them until he was caught up with his brother.
"You know that booby trapping the race track is cheating right?"
"It didn't say that in the rules. Now if you'll excuse me I have a race to win and a score to settle."
He then took off and Dante set off one of the traps. A giant fireball dropped down but the demon hunter pulled out Agni and Rudra and twirled them together creating a whirlwind of wind and fire that blew the fireball away and coincidently landing on Rainbow Dash and Applejack. After a while AJ and RD caught up with Dante and Vergil and both teams were trying their best to make the other lose but AJ mistakingly pulled the ropes tied to RD's wings lose and she tried to fly but AJ tried to stop her but both of them ended up crashing into the demon brothers as the four went across the finish line.
"I won!" Rainbow Dash said.
"No, I won!" Applejack said.
"You better get ready to cry cause yours truely won the race." Dante said.
"Foolishness Dante... Foolishness. It is obvious that I won." Vergil said.
"You tied." Spike said.
"For last." Pinkie finished.
"LAST?!" Everypony shouted.
"Then who won?" Vergil asked.
Twilight came up with a first place medallion.
"YOU??!!!" Everypony shouted.
"Yep. While everypony else was strangely taken out while I was pacing and enjoying the scenery, I sprinted to the finish." She explained.
"Those ponies were taken out by traps set by my brother." Dante said.
"Tattle-tale." Vergil said.
"I expected that." Twilight said.
"And you came before me so you lost one point which makes us...." Dante started.
"Tied again." Both brothers said.
"I don't believe it. Twilight beat us." Rainbow Dash said.
"Well, with all your horsing around, it was quite easy." Twilight said.
The orange cowpony and blue pegasus then felt a little ashamed.
"You're right, Twilight. Our behavior was just terrible." Applejack said.
"We weren't very good sports." Rainbow Dash said.
"Sounds to me that an important lesson was learned." Somepony said.
Our heroes turned our heads to see none other than Princess Celestia. They immediately bowed in respect.
"W... What are you doin' here?" Applejack asked.
"Fall is one of my favorite seasons, so I came to celebrate the Running of the Leaves." Celestia said.
"I'm sorry you had to see us being such poor sport, Princess." The orange cowpony said.
"That's all right, Applejack. Anypony can get swept up in the excitement of competition." The sun princess said.
"It's important to remember that the friendship is always more important than the competition." Twilight said.
"Exactly, Twilight. Now, unfortunately, because the two of you were busy tricking each other instead of shaking down leaves, and you two brothers trying to out trap each other many of the lovely trees of Equestria are still covered." Celestia said.
"Why, Princess, I bet we can knock those leaves down for you lickety-split. Whaddya say, friend? Wanna go for another run?" Applejack asked.
"I'd love to stretch my legs." Rainbow Dash said.
The two then took off running.
"..." Vergil was silent.
"What's the matter? Upset you didn't win?" Dante asked.
"No. I'm upset that I had to resort to such brutal tactics to win.... From this moment forward I'm never cheating again." The dark slayer said.
"Yeah. Good for you." The demon hunter said.
"You.... want to help Applejack and Rainbow Dash with the rest of the trees?" Vergil asked.
"You asking me for help..... Who are you and what have you done with my brother?" Dante said sarcastically.
"Don't start with me." The dark slayer said.
"Sorry. I'd like that." The demon hunter said.
The two then took off running too. But Dante seemed to notice something about Vergil: He was smiling, not the usual cold smirk he'd make, but an actual smile. That made Dante warm inside.
He's starting to change.... I hope he turns out alright. He thought to himself.
