Chapters “Bouncer bouncer!” The overwatch soldiers ran back away from the grenade that landed between their barricade.
“Keep shooting! We need to leave now!” Of the last people in city 17, you wouldn't expect these rebels.
“Shut you're face anus! What do you think I'm doing?!” Dan said as he fired a burst of pulse rifle rounds at the overwatch soldier that moved back into the opening, one bullet went into his right eye, while the others missed.
“Can you boys shut up?!” Amanda, the groups medic said, crouching behind the broken car on the 1 of many C17 streets. The combine weren't letting them leave easily.
“Sorry but i- OW MOTHER FUCKER!” Noah said, dropping down into cover and placing his hand on his arm. Lucky shot. Noah was the heavy weapons, RPG, Crossbow, hell he even flew a hunter chopper a few times. You name it, he fired it.
The little firefight lasted about 6 more minuets, with all the combine down the group ran down the street to the Combine evac zone, the large plaza used to be a park, but was now filled with drop-ships and hunter choppers.
“STRIDER!” More rebels ran out of a small cage to the right of the group, as the distinct sound of youre death ran throughout the air.
BOOM
The whole café crumbled to the ground, a strider emerged from the smoke and rubble and started firing on the fleeing rebels. The Combine guarding the area were also firing at them.
“Noah do you have any more rockets?!” Dan said as the group ran for cover behind a conrete barricade.
“Yeah! But not too many!” He yelled over the gunfire and the strider stomps.
“Ok good! Were going to make a run for a hunter chopper! If that strider sees us were dead!” Dan said, as he popped his head out of cover, while Noah pulled out the RPG.
“NOW NOW NOW!” Dan said as he vaulted over the barricade with Amanda, the strider looked over at them and started to fire on them. But it didn't last long as a rocket slammed into its back leg, dropping it to the ground. The other combine took notice to this as they finished up the other group of rebels and switched fire over to Amanda and Dan.
“Fuckfuckfuckfuckfuck…” Dan trailed off as he and Amanda bolted to the nearest chopper, which good for their luck was a meter away. Dan climbed into the cockpit while Amanda grabbed and hung onto one of the side handles.
“EAT LEAD!” What a cliché line that Amanda said as she sprayed the rapid-fire shotgun at the cover-less combine, tearing them down and killing half their numbers in the process. Eventually the helicopter got off the ground and Amanda climbed into the front seat of the chopper (which is the gunner) and flipped on the gun cam. This was gonna be good.
Noah watched as the helicopter sprayed down all of the combine. Then he had to duck back into cover as the strider got back up and fired at his position.
“OH CRAP!” He tried to get back into position to fire on the strider, but tripped on the junk on the floor, tossing the RPG into the open.
The helicopter flew just above the strider, gaining its attention. He switch inside the pilot seat flipped down.
Bwadoop beep beep beepbeep!
BOOM
The chopper grenade landed on the strider, blowing its main body to shreds. The chopper flew down low enough for Noah to get on after he grabbed his RPG. Then he climbed aboard the chopper.
“WHOOOOOOOO!” Noah yelled with joy as he shot at the combine below. Come on, why wouldn't he be happy? They just escap-
BOOOOOOOOOM
“Was that what I think it was?” Amanda asked from the cockpit. Everyone was sweating at the thought. WHY WOULD THE COMBINE BUILD THEIR EVACS SO CLOSE TO THE THING THEY WERE ESCAPING FROM?!
“Yep. Were gonna die.” Noah said, as he watched the incoming white explosion from the citadel. Once it was close enough everyone had to close their eyes, the burning heat from the explosion was right on their face.
Right as the light was about to hit the chopped they were knocked unconcious…
2 days later…
The smoke burned through the dark sky. The rebels were gathered around a makeshift fire they made. The chopper was destroyed, well… At least the back was. It could probably be fixed with the right materials. Using some robot systems on the helicopter the Dan managed to hack a rollermine and sentry gun, then combine them so the rollermine had a turret on its side, the leftover materials went to the scraped up pile of scrap. Good thing they packed up whatever food was left while on their way out of the city.
“Canned fart.” Dan said with a flat look on his face. “Noah, this tasted like canned fart.” The irritation on his face was pretty visible now.
“Hey, at least we wont die of starvation anytime soon. But yeah, I'm in the mood for some antlion right now.” Noah said, mouth watering at the thought of the almost quesadilla with cheese taste of the antlion. After the poison and bone was removed of course.
“Yep. I'm craving it too.” Amanda said, crossing her warms and sitting down. They were confused as to how they were still alive and just came to the conclusion that hey have died but were somehow still alive.
“Well…” Noah said, standing up and hoisting the crossbow onto him. “… I'm gonna go hunting. I don’t like canned fart anymore.” Noah said walking into the dark creepy forest. It was scary, but nothing re-painted combine elite armour couldn't handle. Not to mention guns.
After walking for awhile along a path in said forest, it was almost pitch black outside, so Noah flipped on his flashlight, as soon as it flicked on it revealed the bottom half of some sort of wood wolf, Noah looked up and was met with the glowing yellow eyes of said animal.
“WOOD WOLF!” Noah said, firing the crossbow in its direction. Noah never heard the impact sound so he assumed of didn’t hit. A look behind him confirmed that.
“SHITSHITSHIT- FUCK!” Noah yelled as he tripped on a root growing out of the ground. Noah rolled onto his back just as the wolf was about to pounce him.
“HA! EAT SHIT!” He said, whipping out a shotgun and (not caring to aim) blew half the wolfs head off, dropping it.
“Noah! Fuck, you okay?!” Amanda said, running over with the gun-mine next to her. Panting heavily, she moped over to Noah. She extended her hand, which Noah greatly appreciated.
“Yeah… I'm ok. But what the hell is that thing?!” Noah said, pointing at the dead wooden wolf on the damp ground.
“Not sure, but its fucking weird. Dan should be over soon.” Amanda said, checking over Noah for damage.
They waited for awhile after finding a nice log to sit on.
And then Dan finally showed up.
“I'm here!” Brutal violet wheeze. “I'm… Here.” He said, plopping himself on the log.
“Jesus you're out of shape.” Noah said, tossing the group named ‘fart in a can’ which was actually just SPAM or some sort of disgusting meat. Needless to say it tasted like fart.
“Oh god… How much more edible farts do we have?” Dan said, practically begging for something else to stuff down his throat.
“Only food we have! And my backpacks full of it. Last time I check I had about 60 or 70 governor take.” Noah said, in reality he only had about 30. But he liked to see Dan cry.
“Hello?”
All the rebels turned their head to the voice, coming from a nearby rustling bush. The distinctive clicks of all the guns getting ready to fire.
Dan’s AR2 ‘beep beep’ noise for when the recharge pack was activated. (The AR2 was modified with a RDS and a regenerative clip.)
The pull back of Amanda's AA-12. (Which has an interior modification to make it more accurate, as well as a drum mag.)
And Noah's click from the hammer of the Revolver being pulled down.
All the rebels aimed said weapons towards the bush, waiting for some evil demon to pop out. Even though it sounded like a young girl, demons could do shit like that.
Eventually a head popped out of the bush, and it wasn't any head the rebels ever expected. (Bow chicka wow wow.)
All the rebels had their respective and personal reactions.
Amanda: “HOLY FUCK A PURPLE PONY!” Amanda dropped her gun and stuck her hands up.
Dan: “AHHHHH SCIENCE HAS GONE TOO FAR AHHHHAHAH!” And broke down into tears.
Noah: “okay, I've seen weirder shit. Like the AR3.” Noah said, shrugging it off.
Even the gun-mine did something.
“BOOP BOOP.” I emitted, opening up the turret with the light orange.
5 more colourful crew members poked their head into the little area. And a vort walked into the small clearing.
A collectively large amount of screams could be heard across all of Equestria.
The yelling could be heard across Ponyville. Ear drums shattered. Heads exploded. I'm joking, of course.
“WHAT ARE YOU!”
“ALIENS ARE REAL!”
“SO AWESOME!”
Those were some of the things the rebels heard, the ponies on the other hand…
“HEY IT’S A VORTIGAUNT!”
“HORSEHORSEHORSE!”
And last but not least…
“Meh.”
Eventually all the yelling died down but everyone (or everything) kept eyeing the others. The rebels kept there weapons ready, but lowered them a bit. Twilight and Rarity had their magic charged for an attack if necessary. Applejack and Pinkie Pie had whatever they had at their disposal. A lasso and a cannon. Fluttershy squeak back a bit and rainbow was ready to pounce.
“So…” Dan said to Noah and Amanda without looking at them. The ponies were confused (HEAVILY) that one of the aliens spoke Equestrian.
“So what? We died, and were on a planet filled with talking horses.” Amanda said, popping a piece of gum in her mouth.
“Aliens speak Equestrian!” Pinkie Pie said, jumping fully out of the bush and doing a dance, drawing the attention (also startling) everything watching.
“Oh… Mh hmm…” Dan said, nodding his head and turning to the Vort.
“What do you make of all this? Are these things from ‘Zen’ or wherever you're from?” Dan asked, curiosity getting the better of him for the moment.
“No.” The vortiguant said, crossing his hands.
“Man of few words arent you?” Noah asked, looking over to the vort.
“Indeed.” The vortiguant blinked a few times.
An awkward silence settled over the clearing.
“Okay then… I guess it our turns…” Twilight said, stepping forwards with the rest of the 5 ponies.
“My name is Twilight Sparkle, element of magic. These are my friends. We come as representatives of Equestria, at least until you talk with the Princess…” Twilight said, rubbing the back of her neck.
“Oh… Alright. We can wait.” Noah said, plopping on to the log.
“Yeah, best not to argue with Noah.” Dan said to Amanda, then sat down.
“Well anyways, I'm Dan, the teams egghead.” Dan introduced himself, getting a snicker from Rainbow Dash and a roll of the eyes from Twilight.
“That's Amanda.” He pointed to Amanda, who waved. “She's the medic.”
Fluttershy perked up a bit that these aliens had probably really advanced medical machines. They had these weird stick-box things. They were obviously some sort of weapon.
“And that's Noah…” Dan said, pointing to Noah who sat up and waved, but not very enthusiastically. “… He's the heavy weapons specialist.” Dan finished up. Some of the ponies got a little on edge when he said ‘heavy weapons specialist’. The royal guard had crossbow specialists, so heavy weapons would be like a catapult. And nopony wanted an alien carrying a small catapult.
“Oh shit, and this is a vortiguant! Natives of another universe. Very wise and useful.” Dan said, showing the vort, who bowed in honour of meeting a new species.
“What a gentle… Thing.” Rarity said, not sure of gender.
“Don’t worry, he's probably fought the Combine so he's pretty much as much of a warrior as us.” Dan said, walking over to the log and sitting down along with the vort.
“Wait what? What's the Combine?!” Twilight said, stepping fordwards with the rest of her friends.
“Oh crap…” Dam said, gulping.
“Nice work dumbass.” Noah said, slapping him on the head.
This was gonna be a long, yet terrifying talk.
“The Combine… Where do I begin? Im not sure I’m the person to explain it but I'll try…”
Dan said, sweating a bit.
“Well… A long time ago there was this advance alien race, the Combine, who invaded a place or a universe called Zen…” Dan pointed at the vort. “That's were vortiguants a come from. After Zen was attack the people on my planet working at a place called Black Mesa were messing around with shit, then opened a rift to Zen. The aliens from Zen saw this as am escape and with orders from their leader, I don’t really remember his name, went to earth and killed almost all the personnel there. With the exception of the one free man and Mr. Calhoun. Gordon Freeman is such an egghead… But he's a fucking badass. He's the reason I'm still alive. Anyways, army come by, kills almost everyone. The Combine see this shit and invade earth, my home planet, and defeated all the worlds army's in 7 hours. Then they enslaved us all basically. But we were done with their shit and formed the resistance, we were mopping the floor with the Combine. We destroyed the citadel, their main HQ and when it exploded we died. I'll assume right now that we won the fight against the Combine because we have the Freeman on our side. He killed like 4 striders at once so I assume he could wipe the floor with some elites.” Dan said, getting a pat on the back from Amanda and Noah as Twilight wrote everything down.
“So… You're soldiers? If the Combine defeated all you’re worlds army's in 7 hours than how is the ‘resistance’ still running?” Twilight asked. The other ponies were scared and intrigued of the 3 (or 4 if you count the silent vort.) rebels.
“Because were badass.” Noah said, crossing his arms.
“That doesn't make any se-“
“FUCK YOU WERE BADASS!” Noah said, getting right in Twilights face.
“Oh… Okay…” Twilight back peddled back to her friends.
“But… We need to take you to the princesses today…” Twilight said, getting all the rebels to nod in response.
“Okay. But their better be some fucking antlion… Or fresh bacon. Haven't had hat stuff in forever.” Amanda said standing up and slinging her AA-12.
“Wait guys, what about the hunter?” Noah asked getting looked from everyone. “I mean, I'm sure the vort could help fix it and give It power!” Dan said, looking back in the direction of their little camp.
“Alright fine…” Amanda said as she walked to the camp, shoulders slouched.
“Oh fuck yes!” Noah was seeping excitement as he charged towards to clearing.
“What's a ‘hunter’?” The orange pony said in a slither accent. Wow haven't even noticed the hat yet.
“Combine technology. That god not the synth. We'd all be dead…” Dan said gaining gulps of fear from the ponies.
“What's a synth?” Twilight asked.
“I'll explain it later, let's go.” Dan started to walk down the pack.
Crunch
“AH!” The butter yellow Pegasus yelled, jumping up.
“Oh you stepped on the dead wolf thing.” Dan said, pointing to the dead wood wolf.
“You killed the Timber wolf?!” Twilight sounded angry, as of the wolf was innocent.
“Hey not my fault it tried to eat Noah!” Dan said, then proceeded to walk towards the clearing, followed by the ponies.
After cutting through some grass they made it to the clearing, and by the looks of it the chopper was already repaired. Wow, way to go team.
“All aboard the flying death machine express!” Noah said, climbing into the pilot seat.
“That thing cant fly! It's just a hunk of metal!” Rainbow said, not believing Noah.
“OH YEAH BITCH?!” Noah has a short fuse to say the least. Needless to say all the ponies stepped back a bit at the vulgar language.
“UP UP AND AWAY!” The chopper propellor spun at a slow speed, they picked up. Then got into the air, leaving a group of bewildered ponies.
“Alright, I gotta hand it to the Combine… This shits awesome…” Noah said, wrapping his arm around one of the side handles on the choppers hull. A rustling could be heard near the tree line, until a big 3 legged creature popped out along with 2 more of the ‘humans’.
“Those aren’t Combine! It's more rebels! Hey over here!”
“Do those guys have a hunter?! Like a real fucking hunter?!” Noah said, landing the chopper and running over as everyone else walked to the group, with the exeption of the ponies, who sat there.
“Hey! You guys didn’t make it? Neither did we…” One of the new rebels said, his arm band was of a wrench, good. They needed a mechanic. The other one had a sniper scope as his. A sniper, that'll help.
“Yeah, but I thought there were no hunters in city 17? And why is it not trying to kill us?” Dan asked, being a goddamn nerd again.
“When the uprising began, I heard the Combine were bringing in everything from everywhere. That includes hunters and probably immolators. Got those things are creepy…” The sniper said.
“Alright, but that doesn't explain why it's not trying to kill us.” Amanda said.
“Where not sure, once it woke up its just followed us. It killed this rock alligator thing, it was awesome.” The sniper said, crossing his arms and looking up, what a wonderful world.
“Alright, names?” Noah said stepping away from the hunter, which just watched him.
“I'm Damian. The sniper.” Damian snapped out of his thoughts by the question.
“I'm Chris, I'm a mechanic.” Chris said, shaking everyone's hands while Damian just felt akward.
The hunter and the vortiguant walked up to each other. He vort probably doesn't like working with the things that invaded its home world.
“We don’t have a name for the vortiguant, never gave us one. What about the hunter? Named him?” Dan asked, clearing thoughts up.
“Yeah… We just called him ‘H’. It's the only things it responds to.” Chris said, looking to Dan.
“Well lets get going. Also, were on a planet filled, to my knowledge, filled with colourful talking ponies. Anyways, we have to go see their princess. Luckily we have a hunter.” Noah said, walking towards the hunter chopper.
“Well, yeah its right here.” Damian said, pointing to the SYNTH hunter.
“Nope. We have the chopper version.” Noah said, holding down some grass and plants to get a good view of the chopper.
“Holy shit.” Damian said, running towards the chopper followed by H.
“Yeah I know awesome ri… Of for the love of…” Dan said, walking over to were Damian was screaming about the ponies.
“CALM DOWN!” Twilight tried to calm him but failed. Just as her war drums were about to explode from the yelling Dam whacked Damian in the head with a huge fucking branch.
“Told him.” Chris said walking beside a panting Dan. H just stood there, probably calculating of something.
“Alright where do we need to go?” Dan asked a everyone called Rouen and entered the clearing.
“Theres a large city on the side of a mountain, but you should probably come with us… No need for a panic right?” Twilight asked, sincerely hoping they didn’t hope all ballistic fucking ape shit on Canterlot.
“Fuck you we do what we want.” Noah said, climbing into the choppers com pit with Amanda, and dropping a hook to attach to H. Everyone else found a seat or a place to grab onto with a good grip for the ride. Dan and Chris sat on the small side seats, which had the lowering harnesses like roller coasters.
“No wait! You should really come with us!” Twilight pleaded. Knowing the rebels, they'd probably blow up and kill everyone in Canterlot before they even got in the train.
“Too sad so bad.” Damian said, wrapping his arm around a sturdy handle on the outside, holding his rifle in the other and his feet on the edge of the small wedge of space on the chopper. The vort just clawed into the outer hull, creating a better grip and multiple holes in the chopper, good thing it was only on the bomb storage and they cant explode without being dropped.
“See you in wherever!” Dan waved goodbye as the chopper flew off the ground, turning to face Canterlot.
“We need to get on the train. NOW!” AJ yelled, already charging towards the train.
“Please don’t kill the princesses, they got enough on their plates…” Twilight said to herself as she watched the humans fly towards Canterlot, then ran off to catch up to her friends.
Bang bang.
“HOLY FUCK WHAT DID YOU DO?!” Noah yelled to Dan, who was currently shooting at weird lion birds that started flying at them off the ground after Dan said some pretty violet words at them.
“BIRD LIONS!” Dan yelled like a character from an action move, who's on his knees covered in blood.
Pew pew pew.
More silenced sniper bullets went off, puncturing the neck of two of the armoured bird things, the last one missed.
“I'm so gonna punch that Twilight bitch when I see her again…” Noah said to himself as he used the gun of the chopper to spray down another group of things.
“Whatever! Let's just get to Canterlot or whatever the hell it's called!” Chris yelled over the gunfire, adding in his own shotgun sounds.
“I see it! ITS DEFYING PHYSICS!” Amanda said, staring at the engineering spectacle. How something could just sit like that was Combine grade shit.
“Oh fuck!” Chris yelled as one of the things stabbed his leg using its tiny claws. “Fuck you!” He yelled in anger (not because his leg was hurt, but because he ripped his fucking pants) and blew half the things face off. Loading in another shell he took air-potshots at he bird lion things.
“Ok! Looking for a- OH CRAP!” Amanda yelled, as crossbow bolts hit the windshield. “Oh wait. Bullet-proof shit. Heh.” Amanda said, detaching the hunter hook, dropping H to secure a landing zone.
“Keep shooting the bird things! Not the racist white horses!” Amanda said, only taking the racist thing as a joke because there were no darker coated colours amungst the soldiers in shitty armour.
“LZ specified. Proceed with landing protocols.” The hunters message came up on Amanda's pilot screen. Following orders she landed the chopper. The weird things backed off and the horses kept their distance, but had their weapons ready incase shit. were to go down.
Everyone jumped out of the chopper and formed a circle around it, yes there were outnumbered, but they could still whoop all their asses if the horses wanted to kill them.
“Try me motherfuckers.” Noah said, as a few guards went over to back up the few that were covering him.
“Calm down guys, Twilight said to meet the princess in Canterlot, were here, Twilights not, and I don’t see no fucking princess.” Damian said, even though his pissed-off-ness was contridicting his words.
“STOP!” A yell echoed across the small grassy and well trimmed dark courtyard (because it was like a 1 hour flight), sending shivers up everyone and everything's spine.
“Good thing these jackets are thick…” Chris said.
“And bulletproof…” Damian commented.
A larger than the rest dark blue horse thing landed in the middle of the group of horse-soldiers.
Wow horses have wings and horns. Holy shit how haven't any of the rebels known this?! Anyways, the dark blue alicorn lifted up a sword using magic or some-shit an-
“IT’S A FUCKING WIZARD HORSE!”
“DAMIAN SHUT THE FUCK UP!” Amanda said, whacking Damian in the head an knocking him out. Don’t FUCK with women!
“Oh my…” The blue winged unicorn (alicorn?) said quietly.
“Oh yeah Damian's a fucking idiot.” Chris said, crossing his arms.
“Yeah… Anyways, as a cliché alien move line, we come in peace. We don’t want to blow any of YOURE shit up.” Noah said, waving his hands slowly around like it’s the most complex thing ever.
“Alright. But I should take you to see my sister. She does most business during the day. Oh, and I am Princess Luna.” Luna said, walking inside the castle (palace?) followed by all the unknown aliens that flew in on a machine from the fucking future.
“Hand over you’re weapons.” A guards said, stopping the group at the door into the castle, backed up by 4 more guards and holding a metal container with his magic.
“Do you know what a gun is?” Noah asked.
“No I don’t. But if it’s a weapon, place it in the box.” The guards said, flatly.
“Sweet.” Noah said, dropping in his knife and nothing else. He could still be considered a walking army with what equipment he had. Th rest of the group followed his roll, with the exception of the vort, who just kept walking and the hunter, which almost killed the poor guard when he tried to remove its weird knife things in its face.
“Wow this place is cool.” Noah said, looking down one of the corridors as they walked down to the throne room.
“Indeed. It's been around for almost 1000 years. Just like me and my sister…” Luna trailed off sadly.
“Why are you upset? Living that longs fucking awesome. If Gordon Freeman lived that long we'd only need one country, and he'd be the police force and the army!” Chris said, earning a few hoo-rahs in response.
“It’s a long story…” Luna said.
“Yeah, no shit. Its 1000 years.” Dan said, getting a smack from Amanda.
“Jesus. Can I just toss Damian's fat ass out a window?” Noah said, dragging Damian by the backpack strap.
“No, if we ever get lost in a forest we need to eat him first.” Dan said, getting collective laughs from the group, even the vort, and a spooked look from Luna.
“Just a joke… Unless we were cannibals. Then we'd be dead serious.” Noah said to clear things up with Luna.
“More like dead cereal.” Chris said, trying to be funny again.
“Shut the hell up Chris.”
“Go fucking die.”
“Choke on a dick.”
“Wow you guys and one girl are assholes…” Chris said, frowning and looking down as they proceeded into the throne room, earning ear splitting yells from all the people in the room.
“This is gonna be a long morning…” Amanda said, firing off a revolver round, scaring (yes stopping everyone from screaming) everything in the room at the unexpected bang.
“Pew pew bang! OW IN HIT! BLERG!” Chris said, acting out a short little firefight with Noah. Not knowing he was being watched by hundreds of ponies.
He literally dropped on the ground clutching his chest as Noah ran into the room with his revolver and pistol out, duel wielding.
“WHERE ARE THE BOMBS OSAMA?! OBAMA AINT DISARMING BOMBS USING HIS SWAG THIS TI… Oh shit.” Noah said, placing his foot on Chris’ chest and noticing all the ponies.
“Well gee what a fucking entrance retards!” Amanda said, once again knocking 2 people out. There was now a pile of 3 unconscious people on the floor. Noah, Chris and Damian.
“Anyways hello!” Dan said, waving to Celestia, who was literally confused as fuck with what just happened.
“Um… Twilight should be here soon…” Luna said, quickly trotting out of the room.
Noah shot up, and put on his best old man face.
“I don’ wanna be spotted near yall’ hoodlum!” Then dropped back into the pile.
There was an awkward silence until the doors swung open to reveal the colourful crew. All the rich and snotty nerds ran out of the room at top speed, leaving trampled guards, papers and basically anything that had to do with a courtroom that wasn't nailed down was smashed up and on the floor.
“It looks like the whole fucking strider armada just stomped through here…” Dan said, looking at the rest of the room.
“We told you to take the train!” Twilight yelled, stomping to the room. The vort and H stood on the sidelines watching.
“This will be good.” The vort said.
“Boop bloop.” The static noise came out of H.
“Hey! Flying hunter choppers is awesome! And we shot some weird things…” Dan said. The Princess climbed down off the throne and got behing the group without them knowing.
“What did you shoot?” She demanded, stomping her hoof for added drama.
“Weird eagle lion things. They tried to attack us…” Amanda said, shrugging.
“Griffons?” All the ponies still in the room said.
“Uh, sure? They were fucking weird…” Dan said with uncertainty, scratching his head. Noah started talking in his sleep…
“No… Fuck you! … No why… Bo schitt…” Then he just stopped again.
“That was awkward…” Amanda said. Looking back to The colourful crew.
“Were griffons really that close to Canterlot?” Celestia said, looking out the window.
SMASH
A large group of guards ran into the room and barricaded the door behind them. Something huge was slamming on it.
“Griffons!” One of the guards up against the door said.
“Uh oh. GUY WAKE THE HELL UP!” Amanda yelled at the 3 stooges on the ground. They literally jumped to attention.
“Alright what's the deal?” Dan asked the princess.
“You picked a bad time to show up. Were currently at war with them, the griffons that is. Now from what a letter Twilight sent me she said you were adept at fighting and that you defeated an advanced alien race? If this is all true we need you're help.” Celestia said, making Dan feel kinda like an ass-hole.
“Alright fine.” Amanda said, grabbing her gun and crouching down near the door.
Dan got further back than Amanda and took cover, flipping in the Rgen clip.
Chris aimed the silenced SMG and took cover next to Dan.
Noah ran out the back door and through the hallways to the hunter chopper.
H and the vort got on both of Amanda's sides for cover.
Damian shit a hook onto the roof and attached it to his belt, it pulled him up and he aimed his sniper at the door.
“MOVE OUTTA THE WAY!” Amanda yelled as the door exploded open and knocked hard he guards on he floor.
The following gunfire and helicopter bomb explosions was absurdly loud.
Bullets and arrows flew across the courtyard, the guards and rebels fought their way to the courtyard, crushing anything that got in their way. In cover, Chris elbowed the small broken door and stuck his SMG in to the hole, using the door as a shield he slowly walked and shot across the courtyard with the other backing him up, H jammed the retractable blades into a griffons neck, spraying blood all over the synth.
The chopper flew overhead of the city, spraying down and bombing the griffons moving to the courtyard. Griffon bodies littered the ground, stuffed with more bullets than blood. To be honest, they never really had a chance. The group was huddled down in a small trench, tossing grenades and firing AR2 bullets into the swarm of griffons approaching.
“These things dont quit!” Dan said, as he waited for his gun to recharge.
“Their like fast zombies!” Damian said, as he fired a sniper bulled into a griffons head, going through and killing 3 more. “QUAD.” He said, as he crouched back down, barley avoiding an arrow.
“Go get backup!” One of the lead griffons, a lieutenant, said, pointing to a large metal container that all the rebels were familiar with. A few griffons ran back and pryed the door open with a long metal tube spewing concrete everywhere and kicking dust up. The clinch and heavy footsteps made it all too clear was to what was in the container.
“COMBINE!” Amanda yelled, firing at the overwatch soldiers pouring out of the container. I guess more than just rebels didn't make it out…
“WHAT?! OH SHIT!” Dan said, shooting at them. Their superior armour absoarbed most of the damage.
…..
“Noah where are you?! There's combine soldiers down here!” The radio clicked off as Noah finished bombing more griffons inside the city. “WHAT? Combine?! I'll be over ASAP!” Noah heavily turned the chopper in the direction of the courtyard. Quickly spotting the half dead combine troops due to the 7 dead soldiers on the ground, also looked to the trench he noticed Dan and Chris had both been shot, luckily nowhere important or vital.
Everyone else, Damian, Amanda, the vort and H were still fighting. In the early days of the uprising most rebels were taught how to heal themselves, every rebel carried a small health vial. It was necessary considering there couldn't be any kids. No casualties could be afforded.
The hunter sprayed down the remaining combine, luckily the drop-ship container they were stuck inside was still intact. Those things come with a long range radio. It wasn't another hour or so before the griffons were kicked out of the city. Most of the civilians were alive due to a large cave system under the city. None of the griffons knew about it a neither did most of the ponies. But, they lived through the attack. It would be a day of so before Dan could walk. Chris was fine, guess he got the hand packed vial. Hand packed vials were always better because they were cleaned daily, the regular ones weren't the same. They could get cracked, broken or even smashed and lower the healing efficiency.
“That was awesome!” Noah said, as he hopped out of the landed chopper. Amanda was off in a corner wiping the blood off H, Chris and Dan were sitting on a bench and everyone else was in a circle near the fountain talking about something. Probably the combine.
“Hey Noah, come over here.” Damian said, waving Noah to come over. Walking across the burnt grass he reached the group. They were talking about the combine.
“Hey. So… The combine. If there here, what if the whole force trapped inside the citadel is here?” Damian said, getting a bit scared. If the force inside the citadel was here, there would be an army of synths coming to control and destroy all of ponykind. And the rest of the rebels…
“That would be very problematic. But I hear that a large outpost of rebels was underground trying to dig to the citadel. Maybe there here too?” Amanda said, walking up with H next to her.
“We should try to signal them on the radio. If their even here. But really, we never saw the magnitude of that explosion! For all we know, all of white forest could be here!” Chris said, walking up helping Dan. “Yeah… I could change the programming in the drop-ship container to contact non-combine radio frequencies. I still have my radio. I'm sure I could use it.” Dan said, pulling out the small radio for everyone to see.
“Well then, let's amass a rebel army!” Noah said, running across the small field to the drop-ship container. Everyone followed him down to the container. “There's no power.” Amanda said, stepping inside. Usually there's lights on inside, but now there's just none. That's why they had to pry the door open…
“Let me help.” The vort said, placing his 3 fingered hands on the container and releasing a charge into it, giving the container power. “Thanks, now let me get this radio on.” Dan said, walking in with Chris's help.
A few moments later Dan had the radio operational, he plugged in his radio and flipped on the combines built in transmitter.
“Is anyone out there?”
Scilence.
“Hello?”
“He… Thi…”
“Hello?! Shit, the signals too weak, hey vort. Give it another volt would ya?” Doing as asked, the vort pulsed the radio. Boosting the signal tenfold.
“Hello?”
“Hello? Hello! Hey! Been a while since we've had any contact with anybody else, we heard a loud explosion, then all the signals went dead. Were in a cave filled with zombies. There were been a few combine zombies. Those are new… Anyways, were are you?”
“Were on the surface… Try to dig you're way up. You'ell see a city on the side of a mountain. Were here and… Try not to get spotted by the locals. If you see an animal that looks like a horse, don’t kill them. If you see eagle bird things, kill them all. Were all alone now. Meet us in the city.”
“Did you say horse things?”
“Yeah. The citadel exploded and we are now in goddamn candyland. Just meet us and we’ll explain whats happened.”
“Ok… We'll start digging. Over and out!”
The city was in full reconstruction, carpenters and painter ran brought the streets trying to fix and repair homes. The rebels were treated to dinner and awarded a medal. They enjoyed the meal beyond belief because of the fresh Vegetables and fruits. Considering the rebels didn't have any fresh foods because of the combine, it was like god sent them here for a long vacation. Their skills wouldn't get rusty and they have a major tactical advantage, what with guns. Luckily, the rebels were never spotted by the ponies except the guards and whoever they talked to. The other nobles who did see them are probably too scared to remember.
“This is amazing.” Chris said, taking a chunk out of the caesar salad.
“Tell me about it.” Noah said, biting into an apple so full of liquids that he practically melted at the flavour. The princesses sat at the top of the stairs and the majority of Canterlot was eating in the huge area. Most of them away from the rebels. They didn't really care, they've seen weirder shit. The only ponies not afraid to sit near the. Were their fellow Canterlot defenders and the 6 ponies they first met.
“So… Where do you come from?” Twilight asked Amanda from across the table, Amanda was pretty bored after she ate all the food at her table. The colourful crew never stood a chance.
“Hell.” Amanda said, barley looking at Twilight.
“Um… I mean really. You're definitely not from Equestria.” Twilight said, getting serious.
“Fine. Me and my ‘friends’ are from planet earth. A planet far more advanced then here. We didn't have magic…” As soon as Amanda said that Twilights eyes widened and before she could go into a rant about how they were more advanced if they didn't have magic, but Amanda placed a finger over her mouth a mouthed a shhh…
“… We did everything with science! Our world had a lot of countries, but they were always fighting. Canada and America were best friends though. Anyways, the combine show up after a major problem at a science facility called black Mesa. The whole place released monster from a place called Zen into our world and the place was demolished. Turns out they were forced into our world by the combine. An even more advanced alien race. They saw where they went and followed through into our world. And thus the 7 hour war. A where the combine destroyed our whole planets army's and took control. And were the rebels. The good guys. The people who don’t like having a bedtime. People who don’t like getting beaten on a daily basis. Eventually we started the uprising with the help of Gordon Freeman, one if the soles survivors of black Mesa. We destroyed the citadel, the combines main command centre and we were faith in the explosion. Now were here.” Amanda finished, looked at the other ponies. The rainbow one looked pretty excited and amazed, and the yellow one looked scared.
“That’s awful… And you said that the combine are here? They attacked you when you were repelling the attack?” Twilight said, scared for he safety of Equestria.
“Blah blah blah, what was that awesome flying thing?!” The rainbow one shot up into Amanda's face. Shocking her at the high speed of the pounce.
“That was… A hunter… Chopper… Anyways, what to get introduced to the stupid squad? That's what they called me, Noah and Dan back in the war.” Amanda said, getting out of the chair and walking over the the others. Followed by the ponies. They were unsure of if they wanted to, considering the intimidating blades and size of H.
“Alright idiots, LINE UP!” At that, everyone lined up at lighting speed, even putting the pony version of sanic in awe.
“INTRODUCTION!” Amanda yelled , walking in front of Noah in the line, promoting him to give his short biography.
“Noah Price, Heavy weapons! Born in North Carolina, USA.”
Amanda continued walking forwards.
“Dan Schmidt, Tech! Born in Toronto, Canada.”
“Damian Ghale, Sniper! Born in Berlin, Germany.”
“Chris Sky, Engineer! Born in City 17. Before the suppression field…”
Amanda walked over to H and the vort.
“This is a hunter, we just call him ‘H’. Originally combine controlled he's now helping us. If he wasn't we’d be long dead. And this is a vortiguant. Aliens from Zen who joined our fight and can sense some pretty awesome shit.” Amanda said, getting a happy beep from H and a bow from the vort.
“Greetings.” The vort got back up.
“More griffons incoming! They regrouped!” A taller guard in purple armour said from the doors to the courtyard. All the guards flipped on their armour and ran out the door to fortify the city.
“Back in to the frying pan.” The rebels packed up their guns and jogged back out to the radio container.
“This is the rebels! Does anyone read us? Were pinned down by the bird thing inside the city YU told us to go too, please send help!”
“This is Dan, I'm here! You need to make you're way up the main street, were sending a hunter synth into the city to assist you, don’t kill it. Its name is H. We also have a chopper that will give you some support while heading too us, try not to die and don’t kill the horses in armour. They're our allies.”
“Roger that, this is the 40, moving to you ASAP!”
The combine swarmed into streets. Kicking and shooting civilians out of their homes. The group was defending an outer wall into the castle, if a strider got near it they combine could swarm into the castle. Overall, 6 striders were killed either by rockets or explosive magic. They took down 2 gunships, the pegasai kept them distracted from the rockets at hey shot it down.
“Combine in the street!” Dan yelled, firing a dark energy ball at them. There was a long strech of concrete going around the outer castle wall. The only way onto the street was to drop 2 chains at each end of the wall. Or a strider could blow the gate down. The rebels split themselves in groups to cover the walls, the gun-mine, H and the vort were all out in the city clearing out combine and searching for the other rebels.
Dan, Amanda and Chris covered the chain to the far left of the wall, connecting to the mountain. Damian, Noah and a small group of royal guards covered the one closest to the cliff. The main gate was protected by an army of guards and the hunter chopper. Set on autopilot, the chopper was placed on the roof so it could cover the whole courtyard. They needed a fallback plan.
The combine soldiers ran across the street to get to the gate as fast as possible, but were swiftly sprayed down by a tornado of machine-gun fire.
“GUNSHIP HEADING FOR THE CLIFF CHAIN!”
Noah spotted the gunship and it spotted him. Fuck. The gunship prayed its pulse cannon in a rapid succession, demolishing the chain and hitting Noah's chest in the process.
“OH SHIT!” He tripped off the wall and fell off it onto the grass. Just as the gunship was about to kill everyone else at the (destroyed) chain it was hit with a combined blast of flèchetts, bullets, and green lasers.
H, the vort and the gun-mine’s combines attack did enough damage to the gunships propellor, making it sag heavily to the left and eventually succumbing to gravity and getting dropped off the mountain.
“CLIFF CHAIN IS DOWN! MAKE THE LAST ONE OUR PRIORITY!”
The pony making the alerts said, they informed him about each combine synth and to just call their soldiers overwatch.
Damian ran down and grabbed Noah, sprinting his way to the other chain across the courtyard along with the ponies was no easy feat. Especially when the walls keep getting penetrated by strider bullets that cut down half the squad of ponies. Eventually they reached it though.
“2 STRIDERS APPROACHING THE GATE!”
“Shit.” Damian said, dropping Noah in a position where he could cover himself and the ponies with the RPG. Damian also left behind a med-kit. Then went back over to the last chain. Overwatch soldiers were spraying at the wall, but didn't have an exact position of where the chain was.
“Dan! Amanda! Chris! You okay?!” Damian said, running up the stairs.
“Yeah were fine! But we could use some help!” Amanda said, they were all crouched behind a wall, if they popped up to return fire they wouldn't even have heads. So… Good choice. Damian crouched his way over to them and beat a small hole to feed the sniper into. He found a particularly ‘old’ bunch of bricks and kicked them down, making a sizeable hole for the sniper.
Taking aim he was about to shoot until a strider stomped through the soldier he was about to shoot.
“No way…”
All the other soldiers looked to shoot the strider, until it shot down the next 2 soldiers in line.
“No goddamn way.”
The strider kicked one of the soldiers away and killed the rest. What happened next was amazing. The strider dropped down so it touched the ground and the middle carapace shell opened, showing the brain and the combine microchip in it… But it had the lambada symbol on it… Like the antenna thing on H’s back…
The strider pooped back up and a swarm of rebels ran out of the ally leading to the Main Street connected to the wall.
“THERE HERE!” All the other rebels heard Damian's war cry and dropped the half dropped gate, the 40 rebels ran across the bridge and sat down, most of them tended to the wounded.
There was no way they were taking this city.
Now that the rebels had the firepower to kick the combine out of the city they needed to help the remainder of the wounded and continue their hold on the last chain. Luckily, the rebels carried in ammo crates, SMG, RPG and AR2 ammo were the crates they saw.
A rebel in an CP uniform ran up to Damian.
“Hey. You Dan?” He asked, holding his SMG. The rebels clearly had to fight there way into the city, made more apparently by the wounded soldiers.
“No I'm Damian. But I'll relay what you need to tell to Dan. He's up on the wall over there shooting at the combine. We need to hold their position.” Damian said, pulling out a pistol and waiting for the message.
“Ok. Tell him that the strider will help out in the city and that its on our side. I saw you're hunter. I guess that the same thing happened to our strider… But if the combine are still operational that means an overseer is on this planet somehow.” The man said, loading his SMG.
“Alright… Once we secure the city we’ll go get it. Once we know where it is.” Damian said and ran over to assist Noah in taking out the 2 striders approaching the gate.
“DROP-SHIPS AT THE DESTROYED CHAIN!”
The pony announcer said, afraid they were losing the fight.
“Head to the destroyed wall near the cliff! We need to kick the combine back!” The rebels said, assuming the role of their leader. All the rebels that weren't tending to he wounded got up, equipped their shotguns, AR2s, SMGs and RPGs and ran towards the destroyed wall. The combine saw the lack of defence as an opening.
A swarm of guided rockets slammed into one of the drop-ships, detaching the container and crushing it during the fall, exploding and killing the soldiers inside.
“uh… METAL GUNSHIP APPROACHING THE MAIN GATE!”
“Metal gunship? As in… The thing on the roof?” One of the ponies in the swarm of guards around the gate said, a little nervousness due to the fact that the thing on the roof could spray down a strider in seconds. Half the rebels split off the group fighting the gunships. Hunter choppers were a lot harder to take down than a synth.
“APCS ROLLING DOWN THE STREETS! DON’T LET THEIR ROCKETS HIT!”
They were getting swarmed. In a last ditch effort, the combine sent everything at them. Rebels gunned down the gunships and chopper, they were no match for the swarm of rockets the rebels had.
“Good thing we put hoppers in the street.” One of the wounded rebels said, coughing up some blood.
Beep beep.
“SHIT.”
BOOM.
The APC exploded, spewing CPs allover the street. It exploded in a perfect position for cover. A rebel ran across the dropped gate and climbed into the mounted gun inside the APC after putting the fire out. They could easily shoot down air vehicles now.
The combine new they failed, APCS stopped in the streets across the city and gun-ships turned around, they were retreating. Most likely back to the griffon kingdom.
“WE DID IT! CANTERLOT IS SECURED!” The following screams and shouts of joy were the most inspirational thing ever. Royal guards reunited with their family's and Dan… Dan found his life again. A computer & a stack of books.
The wounded were taken to the hospital and everyone else kicked combine stragglers out of the city. Even the strider danced at the enormous party that happened that night.
The next morning, The rebels woke inside of a drop-ship container… Flooded with… Beer? The rebels inside of a container smashed into the side of a house. It’s a good thing they don’t remember what happened last night.
They would probably cry.
The injured rebels were carried off to the hospital and the rebel medics went to teach the doctors how to fix up a humans body if it got injured considering that they were Equestria’s most important ally.
“I must thank you for saving out Capitol 2 times in one day. We couldn't have held the city without you’re help.” Celestia said, walking out into the courtyard with her sister and the other ponies taking refuge in the castle.
“We should be thanking you for not trying to kill us. But… If this is the Capitol of the country the population left in this city is just us. Then in the famous words of Dr. K: Now would be an excellent time for procreation!” Dan said, putting on his best Dr. Kleiner impression. All the ponies stated at him like he just said: EVERYONE GET IT ON!
“Yes, I mean what I said. It would be a terrific head-start.” Dan said, crossing his arms.
“Maybe when were done with his whole conflict…” Celestia said, uncomfortably.
“Good point… LETS CELEBRATE OUR AWESOME VICTORY.” Noah yelled out and Pinkie immediately ran next to him.
“PARTY!”
“We cant! There's too much to do!” Celestia said getting a profound look from Noah and Pinkie.
“Well when were done the party we can do all that shit.” Noah said, pulling a handful of confetti out of hiss ass or something and throwing it up in the air.
“Woot.”

Most of the party was set up in the middle of the courtyard. Most of the guards and 100% of the rebels were legitimately crazy after 3 hours. By then the dropships container was on top of the mountain and most of the rebels were crammed inside. One of the rebels had the tremendous idea to use it as a sled. Best decision on the planet.
“YOU READY?!” One of the guards holding the rope stopping the whole thing from sliding down the mountain.
“NO!” One of the medics yelled from inside the container.
“TOO BAD!” The pony grunted, then let go of the rope.
The collective screams of the rebels inside was completely pointless. Those containers are… Air… Tight… Shit.
The container smashed into the roof of a small house in the edge of town, demolishing the whole inside and the roof. The only thing standing was the outer walls. If you were just a pony looking from outside, you'd probably think it was a super high-tech chimney.
“Ugh… Why did we do this?!” It was amazing nobody got hurt. “OH GOD I CANT FELL MY…” Well… “What cant you feel?!” … “MY HAT! I CANT FEEL IT ON MY HEAD!” Goddamn it. “Whatever. Just somebody, kick the door open.”
Some guards where looking at the house through its door, the container was only held aloft by the wood in the attic.

“What was that?” One of the guards asked.
Thud
“Back up…” Another one said.
THUD
With that last kick, the door facing the ground fell of its hinges and all the rebels can out like a waterfall. Eventually piling up like rocks.
“Ow…”

The rebels awoke the next day with a migraine that felt like they got shot in the head. The ponies had it even worse because they alcohol or their ‘hard cider’ wasn't even enough for the rebels. So, the drinks the rebels had for unknown reason (probably to get drunk as fuck when they kicked the combines collective asses.) was double or maybe even triple the strength of the alcohol the ponies drank. Needless to say they felt like they got ran over by and APC.
Speaking of APCS…
“Pass me that metal plate over there.” Dan said, working on fixing the almost demolished combine APC. Hoppers weren't designed to destroy vehicles, just personnel. A rebel walked back over to him with said flat metal.
“Thanks.” Dan said, taking and placing the metal in the correct spot. It wasn't needed, but it was still good to have armour over you're tires. The rebel ran over to a group of guards he was talking to earlier.
The ponies had no reason not to trust the rebels, they saved their Capitol 2 times. Or 1 time if you added them both together…
KER-FWOOOOOOOOOOSH
A large wave blazed over the sky, to the ponies it was their imminent death. To the rebels it was the biggest cock-block on the planet.
“What was that?!” One of the guards near the rebel said.
“That… Was the suppression field.”
The princess and remaining ponies and rebels were informed of the suppression field. To the ponies, it was awful. To the rebels, it was just city 17 all over again. With a suppression field comes a citadel. The ponies quickly established a plan on how to take back Equestria and take the fight to the griffons/combine.
Step 1: re-take Ponyville.
Step 2: capture and secure the train station.
Step 3: ride the train to major cities.
Step 4: capture the cities, securing a foothold in Equestria.
Step 5: use whatever the combine deployed in Equestria against them.
While this plan was being established, princess Luna continued theorizing a plan to increase their forces tenfold.
“Couldn't we use a cleansing spell?” All the people in the room looked directly at Luna.
“If we could capture Trottingham, we could use the spell transmitter to make the ‘brainwashed’ combine solders work with us.” Luna said, all the others erasing everything on the white boards they used for planning and drew a city with a huge tower.
“Alright!” A rebel yelled.
All the ponies and rebels filed out of the room out to the courtyards or the make-shift sleeping quarters inside the castle. Outside, the city was being reworked into a fortress. Rebels and technicians hacked and re-programmed combine tech out in the field. From hopper mines to thumpers. Thanks to the help of some vortiguants, the thumpers now released a massive electrical charge, able to stop a heart instantly.
After doing a head count, the current Equestrian and human force was as followed:
46 rebels.
126 royal guards.
1 strider.
1 hunter.
2 hunter choppers.
4 APCS
And 13 or so vorts.
Dan was thinking, the fight for Trottingham would be a long one, and if the combine knew about the tower, even harder. How could the royal guards be more effective? Give them guns? The unicorns at least. Stun-sticks for the earth ponies and maybe hopper mines to the pegasai. Stun-sticks could knock a cop out in a hit or two, hopper mines are fairly light and could be used for bombing runs…
Maybe they could re-work combine armour.
With that thought, Dan went out to assemble the rebels who weren't sleeping, planning or training to grab some gear. Guns, ammo, armour. Anything that could help.
The dead combine soldiers were pulled out of their armour and left in the morgue to be buried. They were still humans… Only with humanity being a thing of their past. The group of rebels carried back overwatch soldier armour and civil protection armour. Considering that pegasai needed to be light and the earth ponies have the most strength out of the 4 pony races, civil protection body armour was passed out to pegasai and earth ponies, while the weakest of the races, the unicorns, got overwatch armour. All ponies were due for a visit to the royal tailors, who now worked endlessly to remodel combine armour to fit the ponies, and Twilight and the princesses worked around the clock to duplicate sub-machine-guns and ammo for the unicorns, while making pistols useable for pegasai.
Fluttershy went to work with the doctors at the hospital while AJ trained with the rest of the earth ponies how to use stun-sticks. The pegasai were taught how to use hoppers and fire and reload the pistols. Unicorns were taught basic cover tactics, such as firing while the enemy reloads. The advantage they had was they could float their guns behind enemy cover and with a high enough skill level, see through the gun.
Unfortunately, the combine could have just shelled Trottingham. Then it would just be filled with zombie. Maybe even royal guard zombies… I got nothing. No cheesy joke sorry.
If that was the case, pegasai could just fly in, secure the tower and carry in a unicorn to cast the spell. But that would be to easy. Pegasus scouts came in with reports that Trottingham was flooded to the brim with combine and griffons. The would mean striders and maybe even another combine suppression device. That would be awful.
The soldiers and ponies ate whatever the castle had. Fortunately, it was a ton.
A few long weeks later, the force was prepped. Loaded into APCS and dropships containers attached to the choppers, the force was rolled out of Canterlot. Only a few rebels stayed behind to defend if they were attacked.
With the new rebellion out on the road, the combine could very well face the end of their control in Equestria.
Mp7 shots rattled off in the distance, the clatter of shells against concrete was a sound most of the occupants of Trottingham were used to by now. After the loud yet short bursts from Mp7s followed the series of thuds from AR2s, screams of pain the explosions echoed inside the city.
An APC sprayed with the lambda symbols rolled down the streets towards a combine barricade at full speed, hopper mines rained down on the hunters guarding the doors, most of the hoppers made of down but they also made it with the corpses of pegasai. The APCS main turret fired of a burst of energy round, tearing through the overwatch soldiers stationed at the gate.
The APC slammed into the gate, destroying it and crippling the arm attached to each door. As soon as the APC hit the wall an Annihilation mortar setup on a nearby rooftop fired off its payload, raining hell on the APC.
Overwatch soldiers sprinted to the front entrance of the once-hotel turned mortar base. Unicorns used their magic to toss grenades into the windows, followed by a brief ‘Shit!’ Then an overwatch soldier being tossed out the window.
Zombies and headcrabs poured out of a nearby APC with a canister lodged into the top.
“Fire!” A rebel yelled, giving the signal to a group of the most accurate unicorn marksmen, who fired of rockets at the base of the hotel. The hotels supports gave a terrifying screech in protest, but still proceeded to lead forward.
Another wave of rockets.
Another loud protest.
Another wave of rockets.
Another strider down.
Bursts of SMG fire.
Rebels down.
Burst of shotgun fire.
Zombies down.
Such was war, Equestria had never seen such conflict but it seemed like they were natural born killers. They just didn't have the right Equipment. Princess Luna was on the front-lines, flanked on her sides by a group of ponies and the strider the rebels have started to all call ‘Hal’ for some reason.
“Haaaacks!” A rebel yelled, aiming down the holographic sight of his mp7 and firing a full clip at a swarm of incoming man-hacks. The rebel was sliced to pieces before he fired again, as the swarm was too much. Any rebels waiting for a chance to strike took it and let loose on the swarm and hotel.
The hotel was the combines last line of defence before the transmission tower.
Rebels and ponies alike swarmed into nearby buildings to save themselves from a sticky fate, however were trapped inside a subway tunnel due to rubble and debris clogging up the stairs. Subways were still new the Equestria, and were mainly powered by magic but the combine turned them into the new nova prospekt. During the steer shoot-outs, ponies clad in overwatch shotgun armour. They didn't have weapons but they were the equivalent of armoured stalkers.
Flashlights on, the group moved deeper into the tunnel. They eventually spotted a large combine barricade, most likely guarding a back entrance or escape tunnel for the hotel.
“Oh shit.” Damian said, carefully and quietly taking the overwatch sniper.
“What is it?” Amanda asked, slowly moving towards the corner to peek into the long tunnel down. The tunnel was wide and had lights at the end, illuminating the combine blockade. The rebels were in complete darkness and cut-off from the rest.
“There's an elite, and 2 snipers. Oh… And even worse theres a bunch of floor turrets.” Damian took aim with his sniper, but the laser only was shown when you slightly press the trigger.
“There's no way we could rush that…” Amanda said, turning around and walking away. She came back a few seconds later with the rest of the group, which wasn't much. The other end of the rail was destroyed and collapsed, the only way into were they were was through the main station’s offices.
An older-than-the-rest-looking earth pony clad in overwatch armour pointed out something stuck in the rubble.
“There. There was an old was museum nearby, looks like the guards stationed here tried to get the cannon working. And by the looks of the aura around it and the destroyed APC in the street, they did.” The guard was one of the guards they found stationed with the people so hid in the outskirts and inner city areas of Trottingham. There were about 20 ponies inside one building, it was lucky when they were found a striders were blowing down house after house. After getting suited up they were charged into combat.
Nobody had any military training other than the royal guards ( if you could even call it training ) and yet the combine couldn't hold out. They were superior in every way with the exception that they didn't have the numbers.
“So… We could re-position it to take out the barricade is what your thinking?” The guard asked Amanda.
“Yeah…” Amanda went over to the cannon after whispering to a group of unicorns to follow her.
The cannon Didn't look very sturdy, but sure looked like it could destroy. It was 3 large cannons attached together, a small horn insertion point like a key hole to fire the weapon. The cannons were placed on top of a sheet of hard metal that had 4 large metal wheels sticking out of it. The cannons had strange looking tubes and lightbulbs.
“All the technological stuff was to super charge magic.” One of the unicorns said. The group moved into position and pushed the cart so it could make the combine non-existent. After a quick moment, the unicorns voted on who is the most magically adept, and the call to firing a weapon of mass destruction was answers by a unicorn named ‘Bright Fire’, the most ironic name.
The tri-cannon, that the rebels learned was called the spell-caster was positioned to face the combine barricade at the end of the tunnel. The unicorn stuck his horn in the small space, the bulbs started glowing a soft orange colour, the rebels heard the combine radio chatter from where they were. Worrying this would cause them to be caught and subsequently killed made a sweat drop from the ponies and Amanda around the caster.
A single CP took out and loaded a clip into an Mp7, and ran into the tunnel. If there was one thing the rebels didn't understand, it was why CPs didn't just drop their masks and join the rebels. Fortunately, the light didn't get and brighter so nopony or person was shown by the orange glow. The Civil Protection officer walked down a route that would take him past the rest of the rebels. When he was next to them, that all yanked him in and knocked him out.
“Cannon charged…” Bright whispered.
“HEY COMBINE!” Amanda yelled, immediately getting all their heads to turn to her.
“GET REKT.” The cannon fired all the red magical orbs at once, they soared into the wall behind the combine and immediately exploded, releasing no force but lighting everything ablaze and instantly killing the combine. It was the napalm bomb humanity always wanted…
When the fire cleared, the rebel group moved into the door that somehow didn't get completely demolished in the ‘explosion’. It lead to the staircase up into the hotel. The mp7 gunshots were still prominent, but their weren't as many of them. The group ran up the first floor, the front door had a manned turret in the space of the front door, and 2 soldiers were firing mp7s out the window.
4 bullets and a stunstick to the neck was all of took to drop them, then the rebels proceeded up.
They were on the stairs on the right side of the building, and connected to all the floors. There was a staircase on each end of the building, kicking open the 2nd floor door, mp7 shots rained down on the combine soldiers firing out the windows. The stairs up were destroyed by the front half of a gunship. The rebels quickly ran across the hall, sneezing a peek out the window.
….
“Chris keep shooting! We haven't come this far to give up!” Noah yelled, firing off more ar2 bullets at the overwatch soldiers inside the windows of the hotel.
“I think Damian and Amanda are ok! I saw them go into the subway tunnel!” Dan fired a grenade out of the SMG into a window, popping out 2 soldiers.
“Id hope so.” Noah loaded another magazine into the ar2. “They are probably our best fighters.” The distant sound of propellers reached the rebels.
“GUNSHIPS!”

The rebels kicked open the roof access door, just a a gunship flew over the roof.
“Oh crap.” The mortars fired off, smashing down rooftops. A rebel threw a grenade and a unicorn floated a shotgun behind an overwatch soldiers head, tearing off his upper right head and dropping him off the roof.
The gunship picked up the signal of the dying overwatch soldier and turned its attention to the roof. Firing a hail of bullets, it tore across the roof, killing a few ponies and rebels.
“Oh Buck!” A unicorn yelled and fired off some SMG bullets at the gunship. A rebel put his hand on the top of the gun and lowered it. “Its pointless. Their bulletproof.” The unicorn nodded and crouched down behind cover. Damian looked at the mortars.
“We can use the mortars!” He yelled to Amanda.
“It has a delayed fire, we would never be able to hit it.” Amanda sighed in defeat.
“Lead the shot.” A unicorn said, tossing in his 2… Bits.
Doing just that, the mortar lead a shot after some elite nerdy mathematics and pierced the hull of the gunship. Letting out a pained howl, the gunship crashed onto the roof and slid off, plummeting to its final resting place.
The rebels group up in the streets again, and prepared for a final attack.
