Chapter two- where is my Babelfish?
"Pretty pegasus pony..."
As Paul lay on the ground Unconscious the two ponies standing next to him shared quite different looks. The purple unicorn stood there with a worried and kind of perplexed look as to why the new being just said such a random sentence the cyan pegasus was just standing there with an open mouth and a blush trying to figure out why a strange creature just called her pretty. The being looked about 5 foot 10 in height from his hind legs to his head, He had a short but spiky black mane but no tail. He looked almost like a hairless ape but with a little bit of hair on his flat white muzzle but overall looked kind of handsome
Did I just think that? Rainbow dash thought to herself. But not too long later the two mare's musings were interrupted by the doctor coming over.
"Twilight, What's the meaning of this?" He asked the purple unicorn who in turn turned to face him and replied
"I found this being in the street after I was on my way home and he was injured so I brought him here for you to look at."
"Hm... Nurse help me get this thing to room 42." The doctor then turned to Twilight and gestured to Rainbow Dash "And your friend too?"
"Oh no, no not her he just said something that confused her is all, give her a minute."
"He's coming to." I heard when I started move around in my bed. Wait a minute I wasn't in bed and if I were I wouldn't be in company that say that when I wake up right? Then the realization hit me like a brick strapped to a hammer what had happened recently, that I had been attacked by my bully. so my eyes shoot open and I sit up like a rocket only then knowing why I was lying down in the first place and flopping back down.
"HEY!"
"GAH!" I call in response to the cyan pegasus now standing on my legs in front of me,
"Why did you call me pretty earlier? Were you hitting on me?" not knowing what was going on I did the only logical thing Déjà Vu and locked up. "Answer me!" she shouts in my face, a blush ever present on her face the whole time. It was then that I answered with a stupid comeback,
"Why did you want me to be?"
SLAP!
"Ow..." I say as I rub the spot on my face where she hit me with quite some gusto [judging by how hard it was] then she stormed off leaving me alone with the purple unicorn from earlier with a look of shock and amusement on her face [don't ask how she just did.]
"Wow... I had expected Rainbow to do much worse too you for saying that." She said before extending her han-hoof "My name's Twilight Sparkle and you have already met Rainbow Dash."
"Uh... Hi?" I respond hesitantly so would you if you woke up to a cyan pegasus asking if you were hitting on it then it slapping you in the face "My name's Paul... Paul Bass" I continue shaking her hoof. "Where am I?"
"You're in ponyville. Oh, here are my friends?" She says as a few other ponies walk in, another pegasus this one a buttery yellow with a pink mane and tail and three butterflies asstoo [what I'm going to call the ass tattoos], a white unicorn with a purple mane and tail with three gems as an asstoo, a completely pink pony who didn't walk in but bounced with three balloons as a asstoo, and a orange pony with a blond tail and mane wearing a Stetson with three apples as an asstoo. The latter two both without wings or horns. Twilight then decided to introduce us
"Everypony this is Paul Bass, Paul this is Fluttershy, Rarity, Pinkie Pie {Fits doesn't it} and Applejack." The realization then hit Twilight. "Girls what're you doing here?"
Applejack answered with a horribly stereotypical southern accent "We came 'ere t' find you cuz we're supposed to be at th' picnic?" It was then Rarity noticed my condition
"You look absolutely HORRIBLE darling what happened?"
"I was beat up for being different to my class as well as having no friends to help me, nothing new." That must've hit a nerve with Fluttershy because she cringed when I said that
"What! you are going to need a massive cheer me up party! I'll go set it up!" said Pinkie [look at me saying their names like second nature]
"Wait what?" I say before she zooms off with speed rivalling a slow version of the Flash. "Hey Twilight. Am I dead?"
"What! Why on Equis would you think that for?" she replied quite shocked
"Because everybody here is so nice and there are talking ponies."
"Don't you mean everypony ?" Pinkie pie says as she is suddenly in the room. [No seriously she wasn't here now she is how on earth, or 'Equis' did she do that?] "Easy, Pinkie physics! It's not hard when you know how silly."
"What?" I say surprised looking at Twilight and her friends who just simply look at me and shake their heads
"Anyway! I have your party all set up." Pinkie says before taking a massive breath "I have done..: Streamers-cupcakes-I-hope-you-like-cupcakes-never-mind-everypony-likes-cupcakes-anyway-I-have-baked-a-cake-for-you-as-well-I-hope-you-like-chocolate-silly-me-everypony-loves-chocolate-and-there-are-presents-and-since-I-have-never-seen-your-species-before-I-know-you-aren't-from-here-Earth-probably-I-have-gathered-everypony-in-town-for-you-to-make-friends-with-even-Dashie-will-be-there-hopefully-you-two-can-get-along-maybe-the-author-will-ship-you-both-or-maybe-with-Luna-or-Twilight-but-that's-not-important-what-is-important-is..."
She just carries on from there but I stopped listening to her insane babble. Instead I take a look around and notice I'm in a hospital if the beeping machines for you to get injected, inspected, detected, infected, neglected and Selected were anything to judge by, I also was in a makeshift hospital bed and by makeshift I literally mean a few cushions on the floor against the wall with me propped up against them with a mattress and a few more cushions to make up the gap at the end with a sheet and a couple of blankets, a second one to make up for my height considering I seemed to be longer than the ponies here were and the fact that I stand on hind legs not all fours that makes them about a meter off the ground considering I am about 5 foot 10. A nurse walked in to inform the other ponies in the room that visiting hours were over. Well before she saw me and froze, considering I am technically an alien [or am dead and this is heaven or hell] a pretty natural reaction, not like these crazies next to me Hah yeah they're crazy
"...So-all-in-all-I-hope-you-like-your-party-Paul! Hey were you listening?"
"Um... Can I have a Babelfish please?" I asked hopefully. What? They have talking ponies of three different races, I'm sure the must have something like that to translate HER babble... Right? Anyway. I then decided to take a note of what I was wearing remembering Rarity's previous statement. All I wore was a white T-shirt with a little blood on it, blue jeans and a plaid shirt over the top like a coat. What I don't feel the cold anyway.
"Paul We're leaving I'll see you tomorrow to make sure you're okay, okay?" Twilight said to me and waited for my nod before she and all the other ponies left the room.
3... 2... 1... And freak out! I thought to myself as I bit my finger in an attempt to not scream. I am dead, Surely, I mean I am surrounded by talking techni-color ponies some of which are unicorns and others are pegasi. I had to have been killed by that guy! Thinking about this kept me up for another four maybe five hours give or take until I noticed the stars outside. I had never seen them so clearly and vividly before. It was staring at the stars which finally kicked me off to sleep, but not before I made one final note; All the stars are in the same place! Orion, Andromeda, Cassiopeia. All in the same place, I must definitely be dead, no other explanation!
As the Human began to sleep He didn't notice a small asteroid enter the atmosphere in a local forest named The Everfree Forest. Or another pony watching him from his dreams...

Chapter Three - Dis gon b gud!
Slowly my senses returned to me; taste, smell, hearing, sight in that order so you can guess what my reaction was when I smelt sulphur, tasted cotton candy and heard someone scarily chirpy say
"Twilight can I throw his party now?" and then as my sight returned I could see the pink pony with cotton candy-esque mane standing above me staring at my eyes I Locked up, glazed over and tried and figure out what is going on and thankfully I started to recollect the previous day's happenings before I acted.
"Pinkie get off of my chest please." I say still feeling kind of scared at the revelation that a completely pink pony who isn't in the right proportions is sitting on me, let alone one that can TALK. She nods and hops off of me
"Okie-dokie-loki." She said before turning to Twilight, smiling an unnaturally large smile and then leaving. Lifting my hand to rub my face I hear Twilight say to me,
"Paul, the Princesses wanted me to tell you that they wanted to talk to you."
"Any idea what about?" I ask
"Probably something to do with the fact that you are the first... of... your..." she replied with a starry look in her eyes near the end of the sentence.
"First of my what?" I ask before a regal looking white, Alicorn if I know my greek mythos correctly, followed by a bluish one both with manes that blew in a non existent ethereal wind the white alicorn with a pastel blue, green and pink combo while the bluish one with a almost black mane with white spots that glistened, and asstoos representing the sun [on the white alicorn] and a moon [on the bluish one] entered and looked at me. "Oh, hello."
"Paul! Do you know who that is?" Twilight screams down my ear in obvious fear of what I had just said
"The princesses maybe?" I answer with a non too fazed look on my face. My reply causing Twilight to nod slowly, "Huh, Let me rephrase what I have just said then. *Ahem* Oh, hello your highnesses. " I say with a blank look on my face still. Twilight just sits down and gulps
"Hello to you Paul Bass my name is Princess Celestia and this is my sister Princess Luna" Celestia explains
"And we believe Thou shouldn’t hold thine tongue for we do not take kindly to being spoken to in such a manner!" Luna says to me with anger in her eyes. Not that I cared.
"And why shouldn't I talk to you like I would any one else? What makes you so special other than a title?" I ask while doing an impression of Spock's eyebrow thingie
"Well... er... we... I..." Luna stammers out quite taken aback by my comment "We are the rulers of this land that is what makes us so special!"
"Yes... But that makes you special in only one way, you have to make sure everything goes smoothly for the citizens of this land. Other than that you are no different from even the lowest pers-pony on the list!" I say with a small stare. 'Luna' and I continue this form of staring match for a few more moments before Twilight speaks up
"Okay... well now that we know who we all are how about we discuss why the Princesses are here?"
"Yes Twilight I think we shall." Says Celestia before she turns to me "Can you please explain how you got here?"
"Well I was walking down my street towards my aunt's old house when my neighbor ran out of his house calling at me to go and kill myself, like usual, and then started to throw stones from his mother's rockery at me. So having had enough of being bullied every day of my life by everyone even my parents I shouted to him 'Hey dick-wad leave me alone for once in your sad life! Have you got nothing better to do than to bully someone else?' before he jumped me and started to beat me again and again until I felt something crunch inside my chest-" the ponies at this point looked both depressed and grossed out at this "- and finally called me a freak because my parents had told me multiple times in public mind you that I was an accident and they didn't want me before landing a few more punches on my chest and a kick to finish off before walking away. I then passed out woke up here in front of her. She can tell you the rest I'm too tired." I say indicating to Twilight. the group of them just staring at me slacked jawed probably at the nonchalant way I told them how I get bullied so often.
"Um... wow..." Twilight says before walking over to me and putting her hoof on my hand "I'm sorry you've been through so much..."
"Oh that's nothing you should have seen my sweet 16, god that was a lot of blood." I say before shaking the memory from my head.
"Let's get down to business then shall we?" Celestia says with a grimace "I would like to know what you would like to do now." She asks me making me consider my life on earth and how much I hated it. The only two people who were nice to me were my father [on occasion when he wasn't drunk] and my Aunt Pauline, so I realized I could have died there in the street but I am here now and I have a second chance on a world where everyone who is a complete stranger to me was instantly nice and didn't know any of the cruel thing that happened to me back on Earth. I could finally be happy.
"I... I would like to stay here if that's alright with you?" I say with more hope in my voice than I wanted
"That would be alright with me Paul, Luna?"
"We see no reason not to sister, although he does need to learn more respect for us both-"
"Hang on a second I have a bloody good reason to not have respect for royalty on my world I met The Queen on a school trip to Buckingham Palace and I met Prime Minister Shag Carpeting! Not only did they have no respect for any of the people who weren't rich they also tried to blame the poor for everything that went wrong! So you tell me, should I have a high opinion for those in political power?"
"No I guess not.” Celestia sighed before turning to Luna and then back to me “Well when you get out of the hospital let me know.” she finishes before disappearing in a flash of blinding white light along with her sister but in a more bluish light. Turning to Twilight I say
“What now?”
“Well the doctor told me before I entered here to see Pinkie staring at you that you should be able to leave today as he could see nothing wrong with you.”
“Eh?”
“What?”
“Nothing wrong with me?” I ask “But I should have scars from where my neighbor threw stones at me and I was beaten by him I should have bruises But I don’t… Why?”
“I don’t know… I’ll go get the doctor see if he can explain this.” and with that she left only to come back in a few moments later with a brown stallion with a black mane who was wearing a form of white lab coat and a floating clipboard surrounded with a shimmering orange aura same as his horn This must be their magic or something after examining me for about six or seven minutes he turned to Twilight
“Hm it seems he came in with a few cuts and bruises but it seems they have all disappeared.”
“We noticed what I brought you here for was to tell us how .” She explained for me. The doctor pony turned to face me and said
“Well I’d say the way the cuts have healed and the way the bruises have disappeared he has some kind of accelerated healing.”
“Wait let me check something.” I say startling the doc as I lift my hand up and close it into a fist. “Nope no ‘Shink’ or blades… that’s both good and disappointing.” Saying that earns me a couple of confused looks to which I just shrug and ask “So does that mean i can leave?”
“Well yes… I don’t see why not I mean you are in pretty good health he said before turning to Twilight and whispering something that I only just caught “He is very strange looking for a Diamond Dog.”
“The bloody hell’s a Diamond Dog?” I enquired while looking at them both for a few seconds before Twilight started to explain.
“Well, you see Diamond Dogs are a form of…” I tuned her discription out because one I didn’t care and two I thought I saw a rainbow outside but when I turned to see, it was gone “...With a form of four digit paw, and are you even listening?”
“Hm? Oh yeah I was listening.” I say without turning away from the window. I was infact not listening, instead focusing on the large cloud too close to the ground with a small bit of rainbow sticking off the edge
“Paul if you want to leave you have to fill in this form.” The doctor pony said to me getting my attention then passing a clipboard with two sheets of paper and a quill to me. The form read,
I _________________ (Name of patient) hereby release Ponyville General Hospital (Name of hospital) from liability following my treatment as per terms of this release agreement.

Guessing that I had to fill in the obvious blanks [that I can fill in] so I did so before handing back the clipboard and unstrapping myself from the machines and the doctor removing my IV chord and placing a plaster over it, I muttered a thanks then I turned to Twilight
“So… To the princesses?”
“No that can wait until tomorrow for now I’d like to take you to Sweet Apple Acres.” She said with a sly smile
“No.” I say with a deadpan
“Wha- what?” She asks with a look of confusion
“No, Pinkie said she was going to throw me a party, I hate parties.”
“Wha- what?” She asks again making me just deadpan harder Deadpanning intensifies
“I. Hate. Parties. You can go and be with your friends but I’m going to wait outside.”
“I understand, I think. But we need to go in for at least a couple of minutes.” She almost whimpers to me
“Fine.” I sighed “However I will ‘enjoy’ this party how I like to okay?”
“I don't see anything wrong with that…” she asks probably confused about my last statement before she shrugs it off and leads me out of the hospital room and down a long grey/blue hallway with white crossbeams as decoration webbing across the walls, the top half of the wall from the ceiling to a couple of inches down was a brown color, and the floor hada carpet the same color as the walls and the ceiling. We passed a few rooms and a table with a potted plant on it. One of them, only one potted plant in a hallway which has taken us at least five minutes to walk down. We carried on walking for a few more minutes until I literally bumped into a doctor with a name badge on
"I'm very sorry doctor... Elbow Deep?" he looked quite startled and then he looked at Twilight sighed and turned to me again
"It's quite alright" although his voice was shaky he had composed himself quite well. It was then I noticed he had a glove designed to fit a hoof around one hoof and in the other he held what looked like a little rubber sna- And blush
"Um... what are you a doctor of exactly?" I ask hoping to not have offended him in any way.
"I'm a Gynecologist why?" I had to suppress a laugh until he just gave me a funny look and walked away, then I burst out laughing
Not long later we come to a door which leads to the room I recognised from my ‘incident’ with illogical and impossible things which I still am doubting are real, otherwise known as the hospital's waiting room. After a few funny looks, a bit of paperwork and a few crying babies [foals?] we left the hospital.
Approaching ‘Sweet Apple acres’ I saw something that must have been impossible to harvest, an apple orchard that stretched further than the eye can see.
“Twilight, If this is a ‘surprise’ party please tell me now.” I say with a dead serious look on my face.
“Well when Pinkie was eavesdropping and she found out you could leave she said it was supposed to be why?”
“Go in there and tell them not to jump out and yell surprise.” I say with a deadpan this might be my new permanent expression at this rate.
“Why?” she asks with a silly smile
“Even if I know it’s coming I have an adverse natural reaction to people, or in this case ponies, jumping out of no where in front of me and shouting ‘surprise’ or ‘boo’.
“Everypony does it’s called surprise.” Twilight explains with a giggle
“Not like that.” I elaborate looking to the side sadly “I… hope you don’t find out…”
“Oh…” She starts obviously worried about me for some reason. “I'll go tell them.” and with that she jogs ahead to a barn to tell what I told her to tell [hopefully].

Chapter Four - P, A, R,T, Y? Because I gotta!
After waiting for almost ten minutes I decided to go in hoping Twilight had told the others what I'd told her to tell. Putting my ear to the door I could hear shushing and an occasional bumping followed by more shushing so I opened the door and walked into the dark of the barn.
"SURPRI- AAH!"
"Oh my..."
"Pinkie!"
"Why you little!" Pinkie, Fluttershy, Twilight and then Rainbow Dash exclaimed [in that order]
Standing there with my eyes wide open, leaning back and the girls staring at me in shock and Pinkie on the floor with blood on her face, and my outstretched fist, from her nose I then realized what had happened. I lowered my arm and started apologizing so fast you wouldn't believe. However I then got tackled by Rainbow Dash with a look of death in her eye before Twilight managed to pull her off of me.
"I guess I should have told you girls what Paul tried to make me tell you. He said that he has an... 'Adverse reaction ' to jump scares and surprises but I didn't think it would be anything like this." Twilight explained while staring at me with eyes as wide as saucers Seriously I should go and measure them
"I did warn you didn't I?" I retorted with shame still plastered to my face with sweat acting as the wallpaper paste.
"Yes." She sighed "I guess so... Rainbow calm down this is my fault not his!" she then shouted. I sighed and decided to leave while I could still use my legs. All the while able to hear the girls panicking about something or another as I continued towards a huge oak tree with AB+SL+SB=CMC FOREVER crudely scratched into the bark I climbed up to the top and decided to take a rest and face the girls in a few hours.
I lay there looking at the sky and I thought to myself that this world is quite beautiful from what I could see and it's a damn shame I ruined my chances of making friends here so badly
Opening my eyes slowly I was greeted by a pain in my back and rolling over to fall and land on another branch of a tree. Let me tell you this, it hurt, BAD. Pulling myself off the floor I notice a vague imprint of my body shape in the dirt Since when did I get so thin? I wonder to myself as I carry on pulling myself up and looking around. Collecting myself I carry on my way back towards town hoping that the girls won't kill me for hitting Pinkie earlier and that I won't be sent to jail for hitting someone unprovoked. After walking for a few minutes I reach town and start making my way through it towards... well... I was just walking around until I came across Pinkie, Twilight and Rainbow. I tried to walk away but they saw me and called me over.
"Hey... uh... sorry for last night-" I began before something shocking happened. Pinkie Pie hugged me. Just straight up hugged me.
"I forgive you..." she said a few times in barely a whisper before letting me go and walking back to her friends. Isn't her mane supposed to be all puffy and cotton candy-esque? I think to myself She probably just brushed it this morning or something she then turned to me and told me to follow, so I did as I was instructed and followed her and the other two towards the barn.
"Where are we going?" I asked with a hint of worry "Am I in trouble or something?"
"... Maybe." Twilight said to me with an monotone voice and without looking around so I had no idea what expression was on her face causing me to just follow silently running my hand through my hair It's getting kind of long, I should find a way to cut it at some point we soon arrived at the large red and white door of the barn. The door swung open and Applejack walking out to greet me with a look of... well... she was livid to say the least.

Chapter Five - Making 'amends'
Applejack looked ready to kill me for hitting Pinkie and any other thing I might have done wrong throughout my life. I'm sorry Mr and Mrs Bug No.7454 I didn't mean to step on you or any of your species. Although that bastard of a wasp deserved it! Gulping I slowly backpedaled to try and escape but stopped as soon as I felt the tingly, glowing, purple wall of... something behind me.
"If you even think about running I will hunt you down and bring you back." I heard Rainbow whisper in my ear.
"Ah want ta punish ya mighty for hitting Pinkie yesterday. But luckily for ya she has convinced me ta go a little easier on ya than Ah intended. So after coming ta a decision with the other girls we have chosen ta give ya a choice either A, work on mah farm for a month or B, Ya don't wanna know." Applejack said with a harder glare than before. giving me only one option there really because seriously, 'you don't want to know?' what kind of choice option is that? I decided to share my thought with the four mares in front of me and after some bickering between them and some internal conflict I decided to step into their argument and give my answer the only way I knew how, Jump between those arguing and yell,
"SWITZERLAND!!!"
"..."
"..."
"..."
"I've made my choice." I say as nonchalant as physically possible when trying not to laugh at their confused faces. "I'll work on the farm."
"Good ya can start now. APPLEBLOOM!" Sheesh she knows how to yell Applejack yelled with a smirk until a small yellow filly with a red mane and bow "Ya'll be working with Big Mac for a few days okay Applebloom?" the fil- Applebloom then did an amazing puppy-dog eye look to her sister.
"But AhppleJahck..." Oh god that accent is so BAD what is this a badly done Mockbuster? "... I usually work with yah. Why do... ah... have... tah... EEEP!" Nope. she's DEFINATELY louder than Applejack and all she did was eep! Applebloom complained but one look at me shut her up and no I didn't giver her an evil glare or anything like that she just caught sight of my feet and then started to look up my body thus terrifying her. Lying down so that I'm eye level with her I say
"Young one, calm down." Now I feel like Yoda a bit. Y'know what? I'mma play it! in my best Yoda voice I said "Harm you, I shall not." Giggling a bit she said
"Yah sahnd funnah." And you sound like a fucking goddess GAH!
"When 21 years old you reach sound as good you shall not Hmm?" She continued to giggle and started to laugh a little Mission: demolish fear is a outstanding success. as soon as she recovered from her giggle fit she climbed onto my head and told me to 'mush' so being the good little steed I am I got onto my hands and knees and started to crawl in circles. She was laughing her head off and the mares were staring at me with looks of... well... they looked broken. As in like Blue Screen of Death broken. turning to look at Applejack I said
"Do I go to work now or..?" She shook off her 404 and finally decided to return the other mares to the land of the living while talking to me
"Applebloom Get off of Paul and find yer brother. I'm sorry Paul Ah didn't know she would panic like that, but ya seemed to handle it quite well. In fact Ah'm tempted to hire ya as her bahbyseetter..." Oh dear god! "...But Ah'd need ta do so much work which Ah ain't got time fer so I can't..." Oh thank god "...So Ah guess Ah'll just get ya ta work on the farm like we planned." Phew I honestly thought that she'd make me babysit that poor child with the HORRID accent but meh this shouldn't be too ha- NO! Don't EVER tempt fate Paul!
"What do I need to do?" I ask her to which she just points behind me and says
"Applebuck." turning I see an apple orchard that span further than god could see. "Don't worry ya haven't got ta do the whole orchard just a quarter." She says with a small smile that looked a bit like a smir- Oh- ho- ho- I see what you're doing you're trying to fake challenge me so I end up giving myself more work to do. Not happening!
"You want me to work on a quarter while you and your siblings take the other three? Simple enough." I say as I walk into the orchard to start work and then realize, I don't have the faintest clue what 'Applebuck' means "Um, what does Applebuck mean again?" I ask causing Applejack to just roll her eyes and buck the tree next to her shaking a few apples loose and onto the ground, until she went and picked them up and put them in some baskets nearby. "Or I could just do this..." I say as I just reach over and pick an apple and place it in the basket with one hand and do the same with a different apple with the other hand.
"Yeah Ah guess ya could d'that taa." Applejack says with a single raised eyebrow... area? What? She has no eyebrows. I then realize that the others were very quiet for this whole time so I turn to them and... see that only Rainbow and Twilight are still there.
"Where's Pinkie?" I ask confused
"Went home, said she doesn't like seeing her friends punished, unless they break a Pinkie Promise..." Rainbow said with a light shudder at the end. "I'm gonna go now too 'cause I'm bored." and with that she flew off Never to be seen again DUN DUN DUN... I need a hobby, other than making wise cracks in my head.
"Are you going to go too now or..?" I turn to Twilight.
"In a minute I just want to ask how you were so good with Applebloom. It's like you already knew what to do with her when she was scared." she wonders to me
"Well... I did have two nephews and three nieces that I'd have to take care of from time to time. Speaking of time, what time is it?" I ask noticing that it was only just starting to get dark I've only been here a day and a bit and I've been in hospital for on of those days, punched somebody and made to atone for my sins by picking a quarter of a HUGE apple orchard at least a couple of miles across, or is that normal I've never seen an orchard before... Twilight after looking towards the sky said something but my dumbass of a brain had to choose to babble then. "Pardon I didn't catch that?"
"Sigh I said it was somewhere around ten-ish." she repeats with a sigh. That means I should probably get to sleep soon, or do they want me to work n-
"Ya can start work t'morrow it's pretty late." Oh, cool. TO THE TREE!
"Thanks, I guess." I say as I walk towards the tree I slept in for a couple of hours. I notice Twilight following me so I decide to bring it up with her.
"Oh," she replies like no one would ever notice a purple unicorn walking alongside them. "I was just wondering where you were going since you don't have a house." You cheeky b- alright.
"I'm going towards a particularly comfy-" Not really but still "-tree that I like the look of."
"You can't sleep there!" She yells in my face as she jumps in front of me.
"I've done it before." I retort
"No y- wait yo- not the point! I don't think it's right that you sleep in a tree!"
"Too bad." I say as I walk around her in a 'The REAL Ghostbusters' intro kinda way and soon enough we arrive.
"Get back here." She shouts to me so I stop not wanting to cause more trouble
"Why won't you let me sleep in a tree?"
"It's not right..." She says with, puppy-dog eyes? HAH!
"You know that puppy-dog eyes don't work on me right?" I say with a smirk as I start to climb the tree
"Huh- wha- how- whe- what?" she tries to say as I unzip my zip pocket hoping that- Yep my phone's still here. I pull it out with my headphones and put them in as I say to Twilight
"Hey, I'm going to sleep now so please don't disturb me." Slowly I hit play and hope she leaves me alone as I close my eyes and listen to the Crash Bandicoot theme after a few minutes of nothing I assume she's gone and get comfortable sleep quickly taking me

Chapter Six - Watch out for that tree!
Yawning I sat up on my bed- BED? I twist my head around frantically trying to take in as much of my surroundings as possible.1, I'm on a bed 2, I'm thankfully still wearing clothes 3, smelling pancakes? -Ooh I'm hungry! 4, able to see a photo of Twilight and... a little lizard boy who's kind of chubby. Huh. It was obvious to me that I was in someone's home and judging by the photo beside the bed I'd have to guess it was Twilight's. Damn, she took me in my sleep. If I woke up anywhere other than here I would be worried. Although I did wake up in her bed I decided to get up and see if I couldn't get outside. I walked around to the only two doors in the room, one was the shitter, and the other was stairs down. I followed them down and found I was in a library of sorts.
"Oh, Paul you're awake!"
"Thanks for bringing me here I guess... I would ask where I am but I guess I am in your house... Library?" I looked around and it was almost like I was inside a tree "Wait are we... in a tree?"
"We are in my home. I live in the public library as its librarian and owner, strangely enough it is inside of a living tree. I don't know how, I always chalked it up to magic that the founders of Ponyville did." Twilight explained to me.
"So you brought me into your home while I was sleeping?" The little lizard boy I saw in the photograph walked out of a room adjacent to where Twilight and a dining table laid out for three with two plates of pancakes God I LOVE pancakes!" However before I could voice my concerns about Twilight essentially kidnaping me I had an idea on how to fluster her.
"I thought you said I shouldn't sleep in a tree?" I grinned.
"Wha- That's- It's- I..." *Sigh* "You said that to mess with me didn't you?"
"Yep." I laughed "However I need to-"
"Oh!" Twilight interrupted me "I forgot to introduce you to Spike." The little green and purple lizard boy turned to me with his slitted eyes with a smile.
"Hey, I'm Spike. Twilight asked me to make us breakfast. Y-you do like pancakes right?" I grinned
"I love pancakes. I pretty much LIVED off of them for a few months I love them that much." Spike started dishing out stacks to both Twilight and myself. My smile soon disappeared "Twilight," She turned towards me with half a pancake hanging out of her mouth. "While I appreciate you bringing me here, feeding me and all but..." *Sigh* "You do know how scary and disorienting it is to go to sleep somewhere and then you wake up in someone else's bed?" Twilight just looked at me until it dawned on her and she feverishly apologized. "It's fine, Twilight." I cut her off "I just wanted to make sure you don't try to help someone in that way again because you can seriously unsettle someone." I then started to eat. I soon noticed that she calmed considerably after I ate. Now don't get me wrong, I really did appreciate what Twilight and Spike were doing for me but these pancakes were... terrible. I decided instead to look around the room and take in my surroundings. I was sat at a medium size mahogany table with seven chairs set around it. on the other side of the table whee I was sitting was a view of a large circular room But that's to be expected we are inside a tree after all. All around us were bookshelves filled to the maximum with books. some shelves were carved into the walls while others seemed to be melded onto the walls
"Paul? Is something wrong? You've hardly touched your pancakes." I just waved it off saying I was fine. "So there is something wrong with the pancakes..." Twilight stated. "I'm sorry Paul, Spike's never cooked pancakes before. For that matter neither have I." I just smiled and told her to relax. I soon noticed a clock and remembered I was to meet Applejack at her farm.
"Twilight I'm going to head to Applejack's farm for my punishment. I'll show you and spike how to make pancakes when I get back." I stated as I stood and began to leave. For some reason I wasn't even hungry in the first place. It was as I left through the door I realised I didn't know my way to the farm, facepalming I returned and asked for a little help. Twilight sent Spike to lead me to, as The little lizar- This is getting annoying
"I just realized I have no bloody clue what you are, Spike?"
"Oh, I'm a baby dragon." he said flippantly as though it was the most natural thing in the world. It might be for all I know... I decided to press the matter further at a later time considering I was able to see the main gates of the farm. Soon after crossing the threshold it seemed Applejack was able to sense me because only half a foot through the gate and she was already there smiling at Spike
"Hey Spike, got a del'vry fer meh?" Spike just chuckled and nodded before walking, no, waddling away I turned to Applejack and she lead me into the orchard. She explained where I would be working as well as what was expected of me before she left to do her quarter with Mac and 'Bloom already working on theirs. I looked over it and decided to play some music on my headphones while I worked. Pulling them out of my pocket I set my song list to shuffle before playing the first song that came up, an R.E.M song called Radio song one of my favorites.
After working for a good four an a half hours I decided that my phone must never run out of battery due to the world I was now because it was still 100% after all the time I had been here and a good four and a half hour use. But I had managed to complete almost the whole work area. It was when Losing my Religion also by R.E.M that Applejack came over to talk so I removed my headphones. she was about to say something but seemed to hear my music
"That music comin' from you?"
"Yep." she looked as though she wanted me to elaborate. Instead I paused it and looked at her as expectantly as her to me.
"Well, you've done more than was expected 'uv ya and i can see that ye' didn' hear us callin' ya so I came to tell ya that yer invited to dinner with us if'n ya like?" after running that through ApplejackToPaulTranslate.org I declined wth the reason of I promised to teach Twilight and Spike how to properly cook pancakes so we said our 'see you later' s, she gave me a small brown sack with some litle gold coins within. A short explanation on the philosophy she wouldn't make me work without paying me even though it was a punishment and I started to retrace my steps from the tree house Heh, tree house. The walk back was, almost un-eventful aside from the deep thought I was in. How the hell am I not hungry right now? Working that log without feeling hungry is just wrong... I'm not even thirsty. What the hell is wrong with me? It was about that time I walked into the door of the tree library I guess I was currently staying in. Spike opened it and let me in. I was asked how it went by Twilight and I explained I wasn't really even paying attention to which she just sighed.
"You should have been. It was your punishment for hitting Pinkie after all."
"Yeah, all though I did get this from today." I showed her the money which she counted it to be about fifteen 'bits'. Twilight asked why I wasn't still at the farm for dinner looking like she was shocked to think Applejack didn't offer me to eat there so I reminded her of the pancakes and she 'squee'd and in a POP she had a quill, ink and paper. I just stared at her She just fuckin' 'squee'd how the hell did she even..? Just move on Paul. No point in shaving a few years off of your life trying to figure this crap out. "So, Spike show me the recipe for them you used please." He held out a piece of paper which I took and read
6oz plain flour,
Oh that explains why they were so dry and almost brick like I walked over to the sink and washed my hands and arms. "The recipe I will teach you will make a batch of ten pancakes. So, first off you don't need that much flour, Spike can I have something to write on/with." Twilight just passed me her quill and paper. "Okay now I'll start with 4oz plain flour, can you get that for me Spike?" He nodded "Good Twilight could you put half a pint and two eggs into that glass jug please?" She started doing so "Thanks, I'm writing all this down for you guys too so you can do this without me. Thank you Spike," He passed me the flour and I mixed it into the eggs and milk "Mix this a little at a time, not all the flour at once or it'll be a lumpy mixture. You want a mixture that is smooth and will run over the edge of a ladle with little resistance. Now how to cook them, first get the frying pan warm and put this much oil in the pan..."
Celestia was sitting on her throne readying to 'lower the sun' as her subjects believed she did. However Celestia didn't raise and lower the sun, nor her sister with the moon. What Celestia really did was stop the planet falling into the sun, while Luna held the moon from crashing into their planet. The sisters didn't want to be forced to do this but they had no choice. However something that brightened up Celestia's day was the letter she had just received from her student.

Today thanks to my new friend Spike and I have learnt how to make pancakes! While Paul, my friend, says he's not the best at cooking he was able to tell when one was ready from the next room as shown by when Spike was trying to get the hang of it himself Paul called from the book he was reading to turn the pancake because it was starting to burn and to our surprise when spike turned it it was only starting to burn Paul it's like he has a sixth sense for pancakes or something! I'm going to ask him about it tomorrow. Since Paul soesn't have a house I offered to let him stay in the guest room of the library. It toke some convincing but he accepted, now I don't have to worry about him trying to sleep ~~in a tr~~ on a tree branch.

Chapter Seven - If you take the blue pill...
Sitting up on the couch Twilight had let me sleep on the previous night, after some convincing that I didn't need her bed putting her on the couch I took note of the paper and tin foil on the coffee table in front of me. reading the paper I found out Twilight had gone out to fetch some groceries and that Spike should be helping me with breakfast. the second half was written much better than the first, as though it was written by someone who does those fancy fonts online which read that Spike had left to go visit, and I quote, "~~The most bea~~ Rarity" Damn is that kid crushing hard I grinned to myself making a mental note to mess with him at a later date but I digress, Spike had left me some breakfast in the tin foil wrapping and that there was an alarm clock set to remind me to visit "AJ's" which I assumed to mean Applejack's farm. I looked around until I found the HappIness Destroyer [as I like to call them] that was set to go off in a couple of moments. I just shrugged and flicked it off, collected my coat from a coat rack next to the door and left. I should really find a way to get more clothes. I noted as I continued my trek through Ponyville greeting the occasional pony on the way with a smile and a wave.
"These people, er, ponies sure are friendly to something they've never seen before." I mumbled to myself with a small smile while closing in on Applejack's farm. Humans could sure learn a lot from these ponies I mused as I approached my work area. I had conversed with Applejack on the idea that I just mark the time I get to her farm on a small clipboard and set to work saves me disturbing her or the others from their jobs when I arrive, almost like one of things you see in older American films where they stick a card in one side when they arrive and put it in the other when they leave. I had picked about five trees clean before noticing a strange cyan lump in one of the trees. I took note of where I was and went to consult Applejack about it, according to her the cyan lump I found was probably one of Rainbow Dash's hooves and should I ever find her sleeping in a tree I should just, as Applejack said, and I quote;
"Yank th' cheeky mare outta mah tree. It's what ah always do." But the only problem with that was, I'm not Applejack Hm... 'Applejack' I wonder how she'd react to being called 'App-for-that'? Or 'Daniels'? Heh heh. ignoring my own stupidity I decided to get Rainbow's attention by prodding her with a stick. The short version is it worked, the longer version is she wasn't too pleased with being woken up by me prodding her with a stick and proceeded to snatch the stick off me and snap it, by hitting me on the head with it.
"Well that's uncalled for." I said eliciting causing a frown. "You could have just told me to stop y'know."
"Yeah, well, it's more fun this way" she responded with a smirk I mirrored her and told her I was working here and she should be grateful I didn't, as she put it, 'pullan AJ on her' and yank her out. "However I'm still upset over what you did to Pinkie and I want an explanation of what you said to me in the hospital!" she started with a frown then a blush started to form close to the end
"Oh, yeah, that..." Was my hyper-intelligent response. "Well I feel like shit for what I did to Pinkie and... Y'know I could totally capitalize on Pinkie's name if I call Twilight 'The Brain' heh!" She obviously couldn't get my reference and told me to focus "Sorry I went off on a tangent there... What I said in the hospital was... well, I don't really know what I said."
"You looked at me and with a slight slur said 'Pretty pegasus pony' and I want to know why you just called me that." she said as her blush darkened making most of her muzzle go purple
"Look I studied Psychology and I can tell you that what I said was just my brain 'giving out under the pressure' so to say, I just said some random nonsense and I am sorry that I embarrassed you so much." She gave me a questioning look which was sated with "I know you were embarrassed because you were blushing this entire conversation about it." her head snapped to the side to hide said blush. After a few moments to collect herself she turned back to me and asked if we could start our 'friendship' fresh, as though we'd have never met before this moment.
"Hello, my name is Paul Bass. It's nice to meet you."
"Hi Paul, my name is Rainbow Dash, Fastest flier in Equestria and future Wonderbolt! Nice to meet you too." We said with a hand/hoof shake and a small smile. I then proceeded to continue working with Rainbow watching me work before I called her out on it and she decided to help me out, even though I said she shouldn't. We compromised that she'd fetch the highest apples which I wouldn't be able to reach by knocking them loose with her hoof and I'd have to catch them so I would still be doing my 'punishment'. We worked like this for a short while before App-For-That arrived, she said she didn't like either of the nicknames even though she didn't understand them and that Rainbow could help me out with the work IF all she did was what she was doing. After a couple of hours I noticed ponies moving clouds around above us blocking out the sky, Rainbow explained that pegasi actually control the weather like that and today was scheduled a torrential downpour at about four in the afternoon. After a quick time check Rainbow came back to let me know they'd be starting the rain any moment and that we should get somewhere dry, the only problem was we had worked through the orchard that by the time we'd, well I, were to reach the farmhouse [since Rainbow could fly there so fast] we might as well have not bothered so Rainbow lead me to a small cottage with a small bridge over a small river with hundreds of small birdhouses just over a small nearby hill outside of Applejack-Daniel's farm boundary.
Looks almost like a tiny Hobbit hole. Emphasis on Tiny Hah! I observed and said, "Convenient."
"That's Fluttershy's cottage." Rainbow Dash explained to me "She tends to the animals of the Everfree and is Ponyville's local veterinarian." We jogged, or in Rainbow's case glided... glew? The bloody hell is the right word for past tense 'Gliding'? Over to the front door and knocked to try and get Fluttershy's attention. It was just as my fist connected with the door however that the weather pegasi deemed it time to release the rain with a ear-splitting thunder crack and lightning bolt. We were both drenched before Fluttershy had even opened the door mere seconds after I knocked, only to have the door opened just enough for two buttery yellow hooves to reach out and yank Rainbow inside before the door slammed shut in my face.
"Meh, I liked the rain anyway!" I mumbled to the door before removing my socks and shoes and walking away mentally making note to get a reason for this after the rain stops and I see Rainbow again. But thanks to whatever before I could get off of the porch I was yanked into the cottage-hole by a pair of cyan hooves. "Nice to know I get the amazing dry, too." I said with a thick enough layer of sarcasm that the Princess probably wouldn't feel the pea.
"Sorry 'bout that. Flutters here didn't know you were with me and was too frightened by the thunder to stay out from under her bed for too long." Rainbow said to me bringing the lack of the owner of the house to my attention
"She should get her thunder buddy then." I quipped. To myself. Confusing Rainbow. Because no one here would have seen Ted. "God I'd sure like another human around to get my references..." I mumbled to myself not expecting another human to just POP outta nowhere and say something like-
"That's what I'm here for Boyo..!" Wait wat...

Chapter Eight - ...or was it the RED pill?
"You didn't think you coming here was a coincidence right..?" whispered a voice on my left shoulder. It started to occur to me that maybe... just maybe I might have gone completely insane.
"Rainbow, you did hear that... right?" I hoped until, of course she replied in the negative and excused herself to the kitchen to collect a drink after I said I was fine and I didn't want one. With her gone I heard the voice, on my right shoulder this time, whisper more to me.
"Only you can hear me Paul... The reason for this shall become clear soon enough but for now I just wanted to invite you to my home..." I was about to inquire where this creature was, for I could not see it on my shoulder even when it spoke, and about the location of the voice's home however the voice spoke once more "Do not speak... I do not wish for you to alert the ponies ... I will tell you I live in the Everfree and that as soon as you enter you will be guided to my location, when you are ready, of course..." At the end of that it faded away and I could no longer hear it speaking to me. I blinked and decided to move on for a while and question my sanity later as Rainbow had returned to the room with a glass of water.
"Hey Rainbow Dash-" I began
"Just call me Rainbow or Dash please. Calling me my full name all the time is a bit strange..."
"Right, Dash I was wondering what you could tell me about the Everfree. I mean I've only just hear the name so I have no idea what that place is." Rainbow sat down on a particularly comfy looking armchair, and after a few seconds told me to sit down on a nearby couch which I had noticed was covered in towels just like the armchair, and began to explain the 'Everfree Forest.' As she did this I decided to look around the room we were in from the couch I was sat upon. I found that the room was filled, and I mean filled , with birdhouses, mouse holes, cat and dog beds, food bowls of varying sizes labelled with many, MANY, names and a rabbit hutch which was shaped literally like a mansion including a tiny mailbox with 'Angel B. Rabbit JR.' engraved upon it. Odd, Five quid- Er, Bits says that's a spoiled as fuck rabbit
"So to sum up that place is unnatural ." She concluded. although I didn't think it was that bad, I mean, on Earth ALL plants and animals behave that way but here, where the norm is the opposite, I guess it is kind of unnatural.
"Huh, so is there some kind of special expedition crew that is required before anyone goes in there? Or is it more like 'you can go in there if you like, but don't come crying back to me when you get injured'?" I asked half joking
"The second one is about right to be honest with you." Ah, right, of course it would be. "The rain should be stopping soon so I think I should go collect fluttershy and bring here here so we can say our 'see ya later's be right back okay?" and with that the LGBT pony trotted up the stairs of the building to collect our host, so I took a look outside and sure enough the 'torrential downpour' which looked more like an average English summer day was starting to fade into nothing. Putting my socks and shoes back on then standing up just in time for the two girls [or should it be mares?] to be seen coming down the stairs chatting like Fluttershy wasn't hiding under her bed for, after taking a quick look at my phone, twenty five minutes Jeez have we really been sitting here for that long? Dayumz boi dat be tru wack yo! Oh god I will never even joke about speaking like that again, even in my head, I feel so dirty after that ugh... "-ing to be heading of now 'Shy so we'll continue this talk later."
"Which talk?" I decided to be nosy
"Oh... um well we er.." Fluttershy began but hid behind Rainbow again. after a few moments I remembered that they only came up to just above where my abdominals were so I squatted down and asked again Fluttershy took a peek out from behind Dash and seeing I was lower than her head height decided that was good enough for her to be able to talk to me without stuttering and hiding. "Well Dash and I were conversing about what we should do for our 'Pet-Day'." Eh?
"Eh?" I asked to which she explained that all the girls three times a year would meet up in the local park and have a 'Pet-Day' where they would have their pets, which were a tortoise [which, infuriatingly, they called a turtle] named Tank which belonged to Dash, a cat over-pompously named Opalescence which belonged to Rarity, an owl named Owlowiscious which was Twilight's, a dog named Winona which was Apple-phone-jack's, a baby fucking alligator named Gummy which belonged to, unsurprisingly, Pinkie and Angel which was Fluttershy's pet rabbit. "Huh you girls all have quite a... variety of pets..." I said which gave Fluttershy the idea, for some damn reason, that it would be good to help me get a pet which made her do a Pinkie pie smile and a damn 'Squee' sound which I swear will be the death of my brain which, let me tell you, was quite terrifying. I declined on the grounds I don't even have my own home yet.
"Oh, yes... right..." That took the wind out of her sails "But... when you do... would you be interested in getting a pet..?" Fluttershy asked thankfully back to her timid self. I replied that I have no idea as of yet because it seemed to me that it was too far away to be predicting as of yet. "Oh I guess you're right." She replied finally. It wasn't long after that we left and returned to AppleJack's farm, Rainbow soon left for her own place before I got to the farmhouse, however, when I did I was checked to see if I was okay and paid some Bits for working. Turns out Applejack, or as she prefers me to call her, Aj considered my work to be very satisfying and the amount I was paid was quite substantial. [Considering what Twilight told me about how Equestrian Bits were pretty much complete gold with trace elements of silver.]

Chapter One - ...we come in.
Hello there my name is Filth-Under-Your-Boot Guy and I am here to teach you how to have friends. Don't be me!
My real name is Paul Bass and I am getting beaten up for a change. Usually they just throw insults and paper balls at me but today to shake it up a bit they are throwing punches.
"Dude leave me alo-OOF!" I manage to get out before a final kick to the stomach shuts me up and he starts to walk away. Most people would get help off passer-bys but not I because I live in a small town in the middle of no-where and here there isn't enough people in this stupid town to notice when someone needs help. It doesn't help that I am in a dark alleyway between two run down places so it doesn't take long before I let the cold concrete take me away from consciousness and into the cold dark depths of my sleep.
"Dear Celestia! somepony call a doctor!"
That's new who says dear Celestia? let alone somePONY? I think to myself before opening my eyes and being greeted by a sight I never thought I would see quite simply because it is impossible. A unicorn. A purple one at that looking at me with a form of sadness
"You're going to be okay." she began before I let out a scream. Not a manly GAAAH more of a ten-year old girl running from daddy in a scary clown mask scream, causing it to recoil in pain with it's ears pinned back like a cat. Then I did the only logical thing, run, run like the wind but in my rush to get up I forgot why I was lying down in the first place so a small bit of pain made itself known in my lungs reminds me.
"Oh I see you are in pain. Don't worry! I'll teleport us to a hospital."
Teleport? Does this unicorn mean.. Was all I could think before a sensation similar to getting pins and needles filled my nervous system before I heard a loud POP and I was in a white room with more Unicorns, Pegasi and what seem to be normal [to an extent] ponies, all of whom were very vibrant colours, who carried on their merry ways until a cyan pagasus with a very LGBT mane and tail flew right into my face, please note I mean flew LITERALLY not figuratively because it has wings, causing me to not scream this time [thankfully] but instead stick to my gender and go GAH! Hearing me do this the purple unicorn turns to the pegasus and says,
"Rainbow Dash! Get out of it's face!" But because I have my luck, every other pony[?] in the room noticed me at the manly 'gah' I let out just and started to edge away from me, I then notice tattoos on all their assess, different ones at that. Because my brain had had enough it decided for me that it ought to go to sleep with my mouth doing a very slurred and awkward
"Pretty pegasus pony."

"Freak!" A boy says as he throws another punch at a smaller more skinny looking lad on the floor beneath him. The boy throwing more and more punches until he hears a cracking sound from his victim's ribcage. All the while bystanders are just walking bye as though nothing is happening. looking closer into the skinny boy's eyes only one thing is visible, Fear! The skinny boy's eyes closing in pain every time a punch is landed on him until a final one connects with the boy's head smacking it off of the floor.
Waking with a start the co-ruler of the beautiful land of Equestria, Princess Luna sits up violently. her sister and co-ruler Princess Celestia sitting by her on the princess of the night's bed with concern filling her eyes, after a couple of minutes of Luna trying to collect herself Celestia asks
"Sister. What is it?" looking at her sister with sadness present in her entire face Luna replies,
"He, he is plagued by nightmares sister, Nightmares of which I have never seen the strength of before. Nightmares of sadness, fear and worst of all hiding it with a mask of smiles and false happiness." Nodding slowly Celestia opens her mouth to respond but is cut off by Luna speaking again,
"Sister, He was being assaulted..." Celestia's mouth drops in shock "...in the middle of the street and... and..." Luna starts welling up with tears
"What? What else? Should I be worried about him? I feel bad for invading his memories too, but it is for the safety of--" Celestia asks frantically before Luna cuts her off again
"No! You shouldn't be worried about him... He... He... was being assaulted in the street and nopony helped him. they just stood and watched as he was attacked for being different..." the tears start to flow freely down Luna's face "... I have never seen such cruelty since--"
"Lulu calm down." Celestia says with a firm but gentle tone to her sister "He's gone now... we don't need to fear him anymore!"
"I know sister but I still worry that Bl-" luna starts before again getting cut off
"Don't ever say HIS name around me again Luna!" Celestia shouts before composing herself. Noticing the look of shock on her younger sister's face apologises and leaves saying she should return to her duties and wishes Luna a good rest.
Author's Note
Just a little mini-chapter to have a form of apology for last chapter's rushed introductions as well as some good old foreshadowing. I will be introducing another character later on and I want to see if anyone can guess what the connection to the princesses the new character will have.
