As the stretcher reaches its destination inside an operating room, Twilight looks up and is startled to see a monstrous-looking creature lunging at her, only to suddenly wake up inside an asylum cell, with a terrible headache. As she gets her bearings, Twilight walks to the cell door where she meets a mysterious green-haired nurse named Spike, who tells her that he is safe, but that he must stabilize if he is to "last long in this world." ". He then leads her into a small room, where Twilight sits on a chair, where a device suddenly connects to her head. The device quickly heals Twilight, who is then blinded by a white light. When she wakes up, Twilight discovers that she is once again inside the wreckage of the ambulance, which is now overturned, on fire, and with no sign of her companions. Quickly crawling outside, Twilight follows a path that leads to a lakeside town, witnessing Vinyl Scratch violently devour a corpse and acting like a zombie, and is forced to kill her when she attacks her. As she approaches the town, Twilight is reunited with Fluttershy, who is confused and runs away scared when Twilight mentions the word "hospital". Following Fluttershy, Twilight arrives at the town, where she witnesses a man turn into a hideous zombie-like creature after being struck by light from a lighthouse. While escaping from more creatures that begin to appear throughout the town, Twilight manages to reach a huge door. As she walks through the gate, Twilight advances only to be chased by a large mob of monsters to the nearby bridge. Cornered and without adequate means to defend herself, Twilight is forced to jump off the edge of the bridge into the river below, as the creatures watch. Author's Note As Twilight leaves the forest and enters a small lakeside town, its inhabitants mysteriously turn into bloodthirsty monsters.
Chapter 3: The Claws of the HordeView OnlineEquestria Girls: The Evil WithinChapter 3: The Claws of the HordeAfter jumping off the bridge to escape the creatures that were chasing her, Twilight climbs out of the river and heads towards the town, where she saves Cinch from the creatures, as she was looking for Fluttershy as well. Working together, Cinch causes a distraction with the creatures, while Twilight takes the opportunity to advance towards the town square, only to discover a huge door locked with chains and, to complicate matters, the chainsaw killer who kidnapped her from the asylum reappears to try to kill her. With little choice, Twilight decides to fight the assassin and manages to kill him, only to witness her opponent's blood being sucked into the mysterious hooded woman who attacked her in the asylum and in the ambulance, and she then disappears. Later, with the killer's chainsaw in her possession, Twilight manages to cut the chain that keeps the exit door closed. At that moment, Cinch catches up with her and remembers that near where they are there is a hospice where her brother works, knowing that Fluttershy could go there to be safe. Author's Note After escaping from the creatures, Twilight is reunited with Cinch, and they go deeper into the town with one goal: to find Fluttershy.
Chapter 5: Dark RecessesView OnlineEquestria Girls: The Evil WithinChapter 5: Dark RecessesAfter waking up from the long fall, Twilight discovers that she is in what appears to be an abandoned hospital, though she soon realizes that she is not alone: there are creatures in the corridors that can turn invisible. After defeating them, Twilight is forced to solve a deadly puzzle, created by Pinkie. After solving it, a loud blood-curdling scream suddenly erupts from a nearby wall, where bloody handprints constantly knock until revealing a door. Walking through the door, Twilight enters a small room with various medical equipment, along with what appears to be a bathtub, where she finds an unconscious Starlight Glimmer. Worried about Starlight, Twilight wakes up her friend and they both move on, while Starlight reveals that she doesn't remember since Pinkie attacked Twilight in the asylum. Just as she says this, another high-pitched sound stuns both detectives and some kind of mutation manifests in Starlight, who promptly attacks Twilight. Though the effects wear off quickly, Starlight is left terrified by the experience of almost killing her friend. As they make their way through the hospital hallways, Twilight and Starlight make it to a large room, where they hear a familiar voice screaming for help: it was Sunset Shimmer, who was trapped in a Plexiglas tank that was slowly filling with water in order to drown her. As Starlight runs to rescue Sunset, hordes of the creatures appear and attack the group, though they are defeated. But, when Starlight analyzes the machine, she discovers that there is no way to free Sunset from the tank, forcing Twilight to manipulate a control panel from above with Starlight's help. As soon as the panel is tampered with and the tank is opened, both Sunset and Starlight fall into a newly opened hole in the ground, forcing Twilight to jump into it to search for her companions. After briefly reuniting with Sunset and Starlight, Twilight is once again forced apart from them when an unseen entity grabs her and drags her down a creature-infested tunnel. Then, as they head toward the end of the tunnel, the monster of the arms reappears, forcing Twilight to fight again. Finally, Twilight wins and leaves the tunnel, only to find herself in what appears to be an old laboratory, where she sees a vision of Pinkie pondering Fluttershy's viability as a test subject for her "experiments". When the vision ends, Pinkie resurrects the corpses connected to the lab's machine for they kill Twilight. Quickly, Twilight manages to disconnect them from the machine, killing them, but an explosion in the machine renders her unconscious. Author's Note In what appears to be an abandoned hospital, Twilight is temporarily reunited with Sunset and Starlight, as she finds out more about Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie's relationship.
Chapter 6: Losing ControlView OnlineEquestria Girls: The Evil WithinChapter 6: Losing ControlAfter being knocked out by the machine's explosion, Twilight wakes up strapped to an operating table, where a doctor appears and prepares to lobotomize her. Then, just as the doctor prepares for the operation, Twilight wakes up to a table littered with photographs in front of her, one of which shows a large hole in the floor somewhere. Upon closer inspection, an arm of the monster of arms comes out of the hole and startles Twilight. Sensing something strange going on, Twilight goes out into the hallway to investigate, only to find Spike standing in front of the mirror. As Twilight approaches Spike, he makes his way down a previously non-existent corridor, which Twilight follows him down, only to be ambushed by a new large creature with a safe for a head. Just before the creature can attack her, Twilight is teleported to some ruins on a cliff, with an ancient church in the distance. Continuing towards the ruins, Twilight finds an unconscious Starlight on the ground, who had just gone through another moment of transformation and no sign of Sunset. Both detectives make their way through the ruins, defeating more creatures, before reaching a stone bridge that leads to the area where the church is. Starlight then moves forward to investigate the area, and despite Twilight's warnings, she is booby-trapped, leaving her unconscious and vulnerable to various creatures, who prepare to kill her with a nearby guillotine. Narrowly managing to save her companion, Twilight convinces Starlight, who reveals herself to be affected by her "transformations", not to give up, before they are both attacked by another mob of creatures. On their way out, the two detectives walk through a large gate into an abandoned town square, where they are forced to split up to walk through a maze-like graveyard. As they proceed, Twilight is confronted by two twin monsters, though she manages to defeat them with the help of Starlight. The two detectives then descend into what appears to be an underground dungeon with another lab, where Twilight accidentally steps on a switch, which opens a cage that releases a huge monstrous wolf, that attacks them in the courtyard near the church. During the fight, Starlight loses her lucky hat, so Twilight is forced to retrieve it. After managing to defeat the monstrous wolf, the two girls finally arrive at the church, where they thought they saw Sunset walk in with Fluttershy. Author's Note Twilight, reunited with Starlight again, leaves the creatures' village and heads to the church near some ruins on a cliff.
Chapter 7: The GuardianView OnlineEquestria Girls: The Evil WithinChapter 7: The GuardianAfter defeating the monstrous wolf, Twilight and Starlight enter the church so they can rest and get some answers. Once inside, Starlight gets another headache when Twilight thinks she hears Sunset and Fluttershy talking from a secret passageway that leads to the underground catacombs. Before they could enter, Starlight reveals that she is worried about her transforming and trying to kill Twilight, and that the more she transforms...the less she wants to resist. Then, just as Starlight starts to get scared, both detectives get another headache that forces Twilight to treat her partner with a syringe she got from Spike. Shortly after, Pinkie appears to Twilight on top of a chandelier and she levitates her into the air, before teleporting her into a section of the catacombs, separating Twilight from Starlight. Separated again, Twilight has no choice but to delve into the church's catacombs, where she finds Fluttershy locked inside a cell, revealing that she was separated from Sunset, who is still missing. When Twilight manages to open the cell, both of them get a terrible headache, which causes Flutteshy to flee down some stairs, causing the door to close and trigger an alarm, locking Twilight in and making someone unexpected reappear: the monster of safe. While fighting the monster, toxic gases are slowly released into the catacombs, and they will kill Twilight if she doesn't close the valves in time. Quickly and cunningly, Twilight manages to shut off the toxic gas valves and then crushes the monster with a spiked trap, giving it a brief moment of respite while she thinks she's reaching the exit of the catacombs. Author's Note Twilight manages to find Fluttershy imprisoned in the catacombs below the church.
Chapter 8: The Seed Planted will GrowView OnlineEquestria Girls: The Evil WithinChapter 8: The Seed Planted will GrowWhen Twilight manages to escape from the underground catacombs under the church, she arrives at an ancient cave system that is teeming with monsters. As she moves forward, she is suddenly overwhelmed by a strange wave of energy that teleports her back to Crystal Mental Hospital, where she is reunited with Abacus Cinch, who is working on a similar machine that Pinkie used on Fluttershy in her vision. . There, Cinch reveals that they are all trapped in a world created inside Pinkie's dead mind, which is the epicenter of a machine called STEM, and that Pinkie plans to kill them all. At that moment, and before Cinch reveals more, the machine explodes again, knocking Twilight unconscious and separating her from Cinch. When she wakes up, Twilight hears a deafening roar behind her and is quickly chased by a new, large, misshapen monster. Twilight quickly manages to outrun the creature and return to the mysterious office where Spike works... only to be knocked out again by an unexpected appearance by Pinkie. Author's Note Alone again, Twilight manages to escape the catacombs into caves filled with traps and monsters, while learning more about Cinch and Pinkie's relationship.

Along the way, their car radio emits a mysterious high-pitched sound as the team nears their destination. Arriving at the scene, the trio discover that a bloody massacre has taken place inside the asylum, and the place seems deserted. Leaving Sunset behind, along with their driver Vinyl Scratch, Twilight and Starlight continue to the mental hospital's security room, where they find a woman named Abacus Cinch, traumatized but alive, who is apparently the only survivor. As Starlight tends to Cinch, Twilight checks the security cameras, where she witnesses supernatural murders at the hands of a mysterious disfigured and hooded woman, who then appears behind Twilight and attacks her, knocking her unconscious. Later, Twilight wakes up in the basement of the asylum, kidnapped by a mysterious masked man armed with a chainsaw. As she manages to steal a key and escape towards the exit, Twilight trips over a wire, which sets off an alarm that alerts the killer of her escape attempt, who then paralyzes her with a chainsaw wound to her leg. Though badly injured, Twilight manages to fight her way through the many traps set in the basement and a deserted treatment room, where she sneaks out and makes it to the reception desk, though the chainsaw killer notices at the last moment, and he chases her to the elevator. Despite her leg injury, Twilight manages to successfully escape in the elevator, as the chainsaw killer roars in rage. Back on the surface and leaving the hospital, Twilight reunites with her teammates, who had managed to find another survivor named Fluttershy. When Twilight notices Starlight's absence, Canterlot City begins to deteriorate. Then, despite the best efforts of escaping by ambulance, the hooded woman suddenly reappears inside the ambulance as another high-pitched sound is emitted, transforming Vinyl into a murderous creature and causing the ambulance to skid off the road and crash in a forest. Author's Note Responding to an emergency call at a mental hospital, Detective Twilight Sparkle gets caught up in something sinister that will change her life forever.
Chapter 4: The PatientView OnlineEquestria Girls: The Evil WithinChapter 4: The PatientFollowing their battle with the chainsaw killer, Twilight and Cinch arrive at a hospice yard owned by Cinch's brother, Sombra, as they continue to search for Fluttershy. As they proceed, Cinch reveals that Fluttershy was a patient under Sombra's care, until she was transferred to Crystal Psychiatric Hospital for further treatment. Searching the main building of the hospice, the duo are attacked by Sombra, who had turned into a monster, and Twilight is forced to kill him. The pair then find Fluttershy hiding in the basement, only for the trio to be ambushed again by the mysterious hooded woman, whom Cinch recognizes as someone named... Pinkie Pie. As she approaches Pinkie, Twilight is teleported into a hallway, separated from Cinch and Flutteshy, and then ends up in a large underground dump after being swept away by a tide of blood. Afterwards, Pinkie reappears and attacks her with a group of creatures to kill her, but Twilight manages to emerge victorious against them, though she is then immediately stalked by a mysterious multi-armed creature. Believing to kill the creature with fire, Twilight continues onward, only for Pinkie to reappear and cause the walkway Twilight is standing on to collapse and fall into the abyss. Author's Note After going deeper into the town, Twilight finds Fluttershy and learns the name of the mysterious hooded woman, Pinkie Pie.
