Chapters Walking til my hooves bleed
this ideas stemmed from lack of sleep, too much Tea and random music.
The walk was long and arduous, with random encounters paving the way.
the smell of the desert was slowly getting to me. Luckily for me there was a ravine near by.
I took a small rest and looked to the horizon, it looked as though Night would be rolling in soon.
I silently chuckled to myself. I began my journey once more.
I remembered her words when i left. "should you find yourself lost on the way, Look to the skies, let the stars be your guide"
I then sighed, pulling out a scarf and wrapped it around my neck, bringing it across my maw while adjusting my hat.
it was a simple task. upon my travels, I had met an old courier. he wanted me to deliver a letter for him, the poor man was dying.... I say man...I mean stallion. I felt like a fucking delivery boy. but it needed to be done, dying stallion's wish.
of course, had i gotten the train...
I shook the thought. whatever this letter was, it's important, maybe not to me... but its important none the less.
I carried on walking.
soon, my path became illuminated by the moon. I was pretty thankful for that, although by now, almost three thirds into the journey, I was pretty sick of all this fucking sand. but whatever.
It was an astounding sight, the stars twinkled and danced along to an ever unheard beat. walking for three days straight, I took another break. I scratched the base of my horn for a moment with a calloused finger. there was a distinct lack of taste in the air.
I took a small bite out of what food i had left. suddenly rationing my food seemed like a good idea.
Three more days is all it'll take. I continued my journey forth, finding myself upon a large green hill.
How i ended up on this hill, i'll never know. I pulled out my map and looked at the last mark I made upon it.
Had i really walked that far? as I looked at the several hundreds of miles i had walked, I had come up with the perfect explanation, Magic motherfucker... I haven't got to explain shit.
As I stood there, watching the small town sitting ever so quietly in the distance, I simply sighed to myself.
"Almost there, just a few more miles to go" I said out loud to practically no one other than the wind. I began to walk forwards.
However, my foot slipped. I soon found myself tumbling down towards the small town at a speed that could possibly rival the most fastest of earth ponies. I soon shot my legs out forwards and rolled into a standing position, but that standing position soon turned into a run. fucking angles...
so now I'm speeding down a large hill and desperately trying to avoid trees. it was making my feet hurt like anything. I applied the brakes, Promptly finding myself in the middle of a clearing.
Looking up, it was once again night. I set up a small camp.
the small camp consisted of a two man tent (you never know if you get yourself a companion on the way) and a roaring fire.
I sat there and pulled out a small book. one which was given to me by the lunar princess herself, she had wanted to make sure that i was fully prepared for whatever I ran into on my journey to Ponyville.
Sooner or later it would be morning. I put the fire out, the only way i knew how.
And it was a piss worth having, I tell you now.
climbing into the Tent, i simply smiled at the prospect of returning to civilization. then it was a simple case of drifting off to sleep. but of course, as soon as i shut my eyes, I felt a presence. the unknown pony jumped into the tent and was shaking.
It was then that I caught a glimpse of the pony's eyes, full of fear and sorrow. "whoever you are, just relax" I got up, the pony then looked at me for a moment as I pulled a knife out of my boot. "I'll be back" I speak softly, my voice a calming whisper.
I took a step outside the tent, then quietly observed the scene. A large manticore was sniffing at the still dying embers of the fire. I began to sneak up to it. it then caught a glimpse of the blade, moonlight dancing off of it. the beast then roared. "seriously?" I looked at it incredulasly. it roared again, at took a swipe at me. I simply swiped back, catching its paw.
it then decided to take another few swipes before preparing its sting. "don't be a prick" I grumbled.
needless to say, I could see a small drop of venom on the tip. It brought its stinger down.
I moved slightly to the left as the stinger hit the ground. the manticore shot me a look which just screamed you are so dead . I dug the blade into the poison gland, then with a small yank, i took both the gland and a blade covered in poison out. the gland hit the ground with a small thud. The beast looked at me for a moment, then swiped. I caught its paw once again, only this time both drawing blood and poisoning the manticore.
Manticore poison is a strange thing. for an adult pony, it can kill within a day or two. a small child it could take up to at most 5 hours. for a manticore... it all depends on how much you use. because my blade was covered in it, the Manticore wouldn't last the night.
I looked at the knife for a moment and then within a minute I decided to just walk back into the tent.
"excuse me but are you..." I trailed off seeing that the young pony was asleep. I say young pony... she was my age.
What she was doing out here in the forest? I'll have to ask her in the morning.
I grabbed a blanket from the tent and slept outside, who says chivalry is dead. but then again, a 25 year old in the body of a 17 year old? what would you expect?
Konya Wa Hurricane
The sun rose on another day. Its rays slowly being filtered through the trees.
a slight breeze in the air could be felt. the sunlight slowly made its way to my eyes as the sun gently awoke from its own slumber. there was an odd sense of serenity and peace in the air. almost as if the events of last night never happened.
but of course, the evidence was there, plain to see on the dusty bloodied ground.
I finally opened my eyes to greet the new day. hearing a quiet yawn as the Pony inside the tent too awoke.
Taking out a small pack of rations and a pot, I began breakfast. "You alright in there?" I asked, my voice a little hoarse from the lack of fluids. I heard a slightly muffled sound of acknowledgement. I then heard a fumbling sound, as if somepony was struggling with a zip. "Could you... unzip me?" I finally heard the voice, it had a slight rasp to it. I gave a slight chuckle.
"Of course, i'll be right there" As I took a step inside, I was blessed with a vision of....well...
she was stuck in a sleeping bag, her white tanktop must have gotten caught in the zip. "Just hold still" I grabbed the zip and simply gave it a good hard tug. within seconds the zip was undone and I finally met the poor mare. "so What's your name then?" I asked as I held out a lonely hand, she looked at me, wary of the gesture.
"Scootaloo" Within minutes of this small revelation, we were sat around the ashes of the fire.
"How's the food?" I asked, clearly seeing the look of distaste on the Orange mare's face. She shot me a slightly disgusted look.
I chuckled for a moment or two. "so, what are you doing all the way out here?" She suddenly looked a little upset.
Then with a few brief seconds, she spoke. "I.... I ran... I just ran away, okay?" she then took another tentative mouthful of the slop that i could barely call food. "I can't help if you don't let me" I surmised. I had already finished eating, and simply used a small cleaning spell on everything used. I heard the deep sigh emanating from behind me.
"Why do you want to help?" she asked, her head hung low. "in fact who the hay are you?"
I then shot her a glance. I pulled my tail out of my coat. "on my travels, I gained the name yellow tale , that name should do for now" I stated calmly. she watched as i picked up the small book and placed it gently into my inner jacket pocket.
"So why did you run away?" I asked, she began to look ever so slightly nervous as she pulled out a small necklace.
I instantly recognized it. "oh, please tell me she's not..." my heart sank. Scootaloo's eyes widened.
"You knew Rainbow Dash?" I nodded. I pulled out the small book and shown her the front page, it was signed not just by Rainbow Dash, but the other elements aswell. "well, Relax, she's touring with the Wonderbolts" I soon did just as she said.
"thats good, hell thats great!" I smiled. I began to pack the tent up, using my hands.
"Dude, You have a horn" I simply nodded.
"I know, but I'd rather not rely on magic too much" I chuckled.
Within minutes, the tent and the tools were packed away. "so why did you run anyways? you didn't steal it, I hope?"
she shook her head. "ah... then what?" She looked at me for another brief moment as if she was studying me.
"I don't deserve it" I blinked. then looked at her.
I looked at the necklace, sure enough the red crystal hung there, embedded on a bed of gold.
"what makes you say that?"
she looked me in the eyes and then walked towards Ponyville. I simply collected my things and followed.
soon voices were heard. each calling her name. "I didn't want this, I was happy enough living in Rainbow's shadow," she sighed. "all my life, All i wanted was to fly, ya know?" I nodded as i caught up with her.
"but in the end, the doctors and the experts said i would have difficulty staying airborne" I stopped in my tracks.
she turned to look at me. "why am i even telling you this, I haven't even told my friends this"
"because... in all honesty, i haven't a clue" she looked at me for a moment.
I then placed a hand on her shoulder. "but what i do know is this, Dilly dally shilly shally"
a look of confusion spread across her face. "what?"
"so you can't fly that well, I'm crap with basic magic" she looked at me for a moment.
"really?" she asked.
"yep, the cleaning spell cleans stuff on a molecular level, and my levitation spell? yeah... I just cast that on myself and it allows me to fly..." I slow down for a moment. I look to the young mare for a moment, her eyes lighting up with an idea.
"the point is, we move on, we adapt, you can still use your wings cant you?"
she nods. I simply smile. "theres my point, and as for the element thing... well...."
I scratched the base of my horn for a brief moment. it became a bad habit.
as we continued walking, she spotted her friends still screaming her name. "Sweetie Belle Over here!" Scootaloo shouted.
I watched as she was reunited with her friends. I carried on walking.
Finally after several months of travelling...
I had made it to Ponyville, I walked straight to the post office.
"Excuse me? I need this letter to be delivered Post haste!"
the stallion behind the counter looked at me, bewildered.
"How the Buck did you know my name?"
I shrugged. "Coincidence, anyway, it needs to be delivered to Celestia..." the stallion directed me to the library.
I slapped my self on the forehead. "I forgot about that" I chuckled nervously.
all i wanted was a cup of coffee
but something always gets in the way.
As i walked through the small town, I took notice of all the different ponies simply going about their daily lives.
I shifted my gaze to the small bakery, SugarCube Corner. I noticed how bizarre the place looked. almost as if it was ripped from Hansel and Gretel itself. I shrugged my shoulders absently and walked past, Heading towards the Library.
Post Haste had told me to simply head for the large tree in the middle of town. As I reached the door, I heard a few choice words which do not bare repeating... well... not near the ears of little fillies.
I decided to come back later, and headed down to the small bakery. I sat down with a glum thud. running on autopilot, I reached into my coat pocket, grabbing the small book. I opened it to the last page i was reading. soon my vision was obscured by a big, pink poofy tail. the owner of said tail was cleaning a table nearby. the smell of cotton candy floated up my nostrils. I then heard a giggle emanating from the owner. "sorry, my tail sometimes has a mind of its own," I placed the book on the table for a moment. she then smiled fondly. "chances of survival , I remember that book, this little colt looked a little bit lonely after he wound up orphaned in canterlot, me and my friends had gotten to know him and signed a copy of the book to give to him..."
"You remember the colts name?" I asked. the owner of the tail then looked at me for a moment, then to the book on the table.
"yeah, It was Bu-" I placed a finger to her lips.
"Please... call me Yellow Tale for now, Okay?" she nodded in agreement and went through those crazy movements she called a pinkie Promise. "so, Can I take your order sir?" she gave me a small wink.
"I'll just have a simple cup of coffee and a cupcake if you don't mind" I gave a small grin and returned to my book.
I pulled out a pen and began to add small notes to the book once more. the tell-tale tinkle of the bell above the door made itself known as more customers piled in. my head was buried in the book so i didn't notice the orange mare sitting opposite me, flanked by two others. "Thanks for finding her, sir" one of them spoke, her voice sound melodious in nature.
I looked up from my book. "No Problem," Pinkie placed a coffee and cupcake in front of me.
"thanks Pinkie, how much is that?" She simply smiled as she tapped the bill next to the coffee. I chuckled slighty.
"so, I've met Scootaloo, now how about you two?" I glanced between the trio.
The yellow mare stuck out a hand, "the names Applebloom" I took her hand and shook it, but when she shook back...
lets just say i'll be feeling that for a week.
the second mare gave a gracious smile. "and my name is Sweetie Belle, its a pleasure to meet you sir"
I finally gave a small chuckle. "please... stop calling me sir, the name is Yellow Tale"
the white mare raised an eyebrow then realized who i was. "wait, your THE Yellow Tale?"
news travelled far, "you heard of me?" I asked.
"yeah, you once saved a small town from a dragon attack"
My expression darkened slightly. "yeah...saved the ponies, but not the town"
she looked at me for a moment. "never mind that now, thats the past, so anyways, you guys know whats going on in the library? sounded like a fight" the three looked at each other for a moment. I began to drink my coffee.
as it turned out, the three were arguing about who should tell me a piece of information.
I placed my now empty coffee on the table and took a bite out of the cupcake.
Its flavor danced across my tongue. Savoring this new flavor, I shot a gleeful smile Pinkie's way. I left the amount of bits on the table with a small tip and left for the library.
I reached the library door, just as it opened. "sorry about the wait, how long were you standing out here?" the purple mare asked. "not long, just came here to get this sent off to Celestia, You must be Twilight"
I extended a hand, "ponies across Equestria have grown to call me Yellow Tale, but my real name is Bu-"
"Twilight, come on, I said i was sorry"
"shut up spike!" she took the letter off me, "and send this, then we'll think about your punishment"
I took a deep sigh. "as I was saying, Twilight, My name is Bubble-" there was a loud belch, I turned to the source of the noise.
a tall, thin purple dragon looked at me sheepishly. he then passed the scroll to twilight. "dear.... please give Bubblegum Crisis a warm welcome... Bubblegum... Crisis?" she looked at me as i took off my hat.
"Hey, Twilight, long time no see huh?"
Twilight stared at me for a moment before pulling me into an embrace. "It's been too long, Last i heard you were up in the frontier" I gave her a small smile, and a nod of the head. Twilight knew why i was here, the elements were being passed on to a new generation and I had taken it upon my self to chronicle this next piece of history in the making.
the last time the elements were used was back when discord re-emerged, and we all know full well how that turned out.
I sat down as the tall lanky thin dragon brought several mugs of tea in from the kitchen. "so..."
"I suppose you finally want those answers huh?" I asked. her eyes lit up in remembrance.
"If its not too much trouble"
so we sat and I began to tell the tale of how i came to be known as Bubblegum Crisis.
It was a saturday night, I was simply sitting there with nothing to do, Restringing a guitar for the umpteenth time.
as i did this, I searched youtube. randomly clicking on different videos. suddenly it dawned on me, the first two episodes of season two were online. I stopped my current search and began a new one. but then as i started watching, I couldn't help but notice the paw on my shoulder. my first thought was what the fuck have i been smoking , I reached for a near by guitar string and simply lunged forwards in an attempt to garrote the spirit of chaos.
Discord, living up to his name, simply went out of phase and laughed. "its not going to work you know" from out of no-where, he pulled a box of popcorn out. "want some? I want to see how this plays out from this side" I simply blinked for a moment surmising that i had finally gone off the deep end. "eh, sure why not"
the first part was over, and i shot him an unhealthy glare. Clicking on the second part of the two parter, I had an idea.
"howzabout a wager?" I asked, he simply shrugged and agreed.
"if i win, I get to cause as much chaos as i want on both planes of existence"
"Naturally, but if you lose, not only do you get encased in stone, but i get to finally live in peace okay?"
he nodded and we shook hands.
and sure enough, at the end of the episode, He was encased in stone. but that's when it happened. he admitted defeat and smiled maliciously. just before he disappeared back to what ever hole he came from, he grabbed my wrist and started to laugh. "I may have lost... but so did you" I was suddenly pulled about, I felt my self grow younger, and then came nothing but pain.
it felt like a brief burning in my bones, then a few cracks were heard. finally feeling blood trickle down my forehead, I raised a now furred hand up to wipe it away, only to find my newly grown horn making its presence known.
Finally, with a loud thud, I hit the cold hard marble floor of the throne room, naked, scared out of my wits, and shivering.
the first guard to see me, simply pointed a spear my way. and started shouting.
I finally took notice of where i was. but the guard was then abruptly silenced by Celestia.
she took me in, when I told her my name and what i was... or rather, Used to be, she freaked out,
"Celestia, don't blame discord for this, I brought it on myself for making that stupid bet, least i won though, plus could i get some pants..." I smiled at her.
a few days after this, I was used to my new Equestrian form. they had seen me wandering the halls at night, sometimes i would just stop and stare at the moon. As I sat and pondered the great thoughts, she stood behind me.
I glanced over to her, "Your in my spot" she growled. I simply shuffled across. "what are you doing out here anyway?"
she asked, "shouldn't you be studying?"
I gave a deep sigh. "Luna, like it or not, I'm twentyone, my mind works differently to everyone... everypony else's, so forgive me if i have a little trouble adjusting"
Luna sat down beside me, "it's fine, but at the moment...Your twelve"
I didn't argue. "think of it as a second chance to do the things you want to do" She was right.
she then placed a hand on my shoulder. "besides, I know six ponies who want to meet you" I gave the princess of the night a small smile. "do I have to act cute? or can i be myself?"
Luna could see through my fake frown, "be yourself, but just a little younger"
within a week, You and your friends had arrived, Unbeknownst to me, for your Birthday, Twilight.
I could see you were having fun, but of course the fun had to end. it was funny confusing you with the way I began to act, watching the princesses desparetly controlling their mirth. It was a strange day. my magic had been playing up. so i stuck my head in a book for advanced spells. that doesnt matter now.
within a year... I began to miss home, but then i realized Equestria is my home now.
when i told the princesses of my revalations, they simply smiled. I
began to train for a journey. all six of you returned for the royal wedding later that year. little did I know you were signing a book for me. I began to learn quickly about different magics. I then stumbled on a book which contained a prophecy.
I read it, ran off and handed it over to Celestia. "I'm not the one your looking for" I gave her a small smile. "Chances are, they're in ponyville" I knew they wanted to find the next generation of element bearers.
they both looked at me saddened slightly until Celestia spoke up. "I thought you could help find them instead"
I gave her a smile. so I began my research into genealogy, research was inconclusive.
In the end, I decided to just let time run its course.
"You know the rest Twilight, Celestia did keep you up to date like you asked" I gave the librarian a smile.
she simply nodded.
complications arise as events turn
The hallowed halls and clean corridors of canterlot castle were abustle with the noise of different books hitting the library floor.
a voice rang out from within the room, sounding distraught and fearful. to anypony else It would just look as though the researching pony had made a mistake, but to the Princesses...
The pony burst through the drawing room doors, panting heavily, fear etched onto his face.
"Forgive the intrusion your highness, but there is soon to be a grave situation" She looked at the pony, then to the book in his grasp. "show me" the solar goddess ordered. her face became a stern mask until finally, she looked at the pony with a grave expression. within a few seconds, she had hastily scrawled several letters. she then sent them and silently prayed.
She prayed to her parents that the new bearers would reveal themselves soon.
Celestia then looked to the dusty tome, sighed deeply as she adjusted her glasses, and began to read.
"yeah, she did, In fact I've gotten the last one right here" she giggled lightly. Twilight, being ever so bookish had archived and compiled the letters into a small tome. I couldn't help but give a small grin. "nice to know they've been kept safe" Spike looked me up and down. "er... dude, your tail And mane don't match, any reason?" I looked over to the purple dragon, then grinned.
"i have no clue," I ran my fingers through my auburn mane for a moment. grabbing a few strand of my yellow tail. "part of a running joke i suppose" I shrugged my shoulders.
With that out of the way, I looked out of the window, soon I heard a belch. "really?" the dragon handed a letter to me. I placed it inside my jacket. "I'll be back in a few hours, need to find somewhere to sleep" the dragon and the librarian looked at each other for a moment as I walked out of the door. "you could stay here for a little while ya know" Spike called out just as the door quietly closed. I sighed deeply for a moment, then continued on my merry way to town hall.
as i looked around for a brief moment, I took notice of all the different ponies hanging around. I felt a ball hit my knees, Picking it up, I watched as a few kids came running my way. Picking it up, one of them looked a little worried. "this yours?" they all nodded. I looked at my options... on one hand, i could be mean and boot it all the way to Timbuktu, and on the other i could hand it over. shrugging my shoulders, i spun the ball on my finger. as it spun, I pushed up. it landed on the palm of my hand. "Here ya go kids, stay out of trouble" I handed the ball back to them with a smile on my face.
it was then I heard a quiet voice behind me. "thanks for giving my son his ball back" I turned around to greet the voice.
she stood there with a small smile on her face, "no need to thank me miss Fluttershy," I took my hat off.
"I gather this must be Big Mac, pleased to meet you" I extended a hand to the large stallion. it reminded me of the time i met Paul Gilbert, my hand disappeared in the handshake. he gave a slight chuckle. "you must be Bubblegum, strange name for a colt if you ask me" Big Mac chuckled.
"meh, technically its Bubblegum Crisis, call me B.C if thats easier" i surmised.
"No Problem B.C" Mac grinned.
after a small catch up session with the married couple, I carried on my little walk.
it was peaceful for the most part, that is... until Scootaloo crashed into me.
"jeez, You just can't keep away from me can you?" I said with a slight chuckle.
she quickly picked herself up, dusted herself off and shot off like a rocket shouting an apology.
I then reached town hall.
I noticed the sign on the door. "Closed? what the hay? ...open hours are between.... buck this" I walked back to the library in defeat.
boogedy boogedy BOO!
The library was in a state of disarray. Books were strewn about, some opened, some closed.
I rolled my eyes and then simply picked up a few books. "Ya know, this is an odd time to start the spring cleaning" I chuckled as i placed the books on the table. Twilight promptly teleported in front of me. I could see the panic clearly written on her face.
"did you read your letter?" I shook my head, then reached into my pocket.
I held it in my hand for a brief second before it was swiped away by the purple furred hand of the maddened Librarian.
She opened the scroll, and then looked at me for a moment. "so..... its true.... your...looking for the new element bearers"
she passed the letter to me, I began to read it. It was at that moment, I hit my head against the wall.
"For fuck sake..." she looked at my mildly agitated face. I screwed the letter up into a ball and threw it into the bin.
I pulled a pen out and a small piece of paper. quickly composing a reply, I called for Spike.
"dude, need you to send this, Pronto, I'm off to track down Scootaloo"
Twilight looked at me for a moment in confusion. "why Scootaloo?" I was at the door, so i turned and looked back over my shoulder. "who else do you think got the element of loyalty" I grinned.
I walked out of the library with a smile on my face. hopping from hoof to hoof, I began to run. I was faster than when i was human. Jumping over a few fences with ease, I spotted scootaloo on the horizon. Grinning madly, I picked up speed.
Unfortunately for me, fate has a funny way of getting me back for past discrepancies. needless to say, I tripped over a rock.
before I could stop my self from hitting the ground I landed something soft. "well, thats one way to introduce yerself" I looked up from my cushiony landing zone to be met with a freckled smile and a stetson hat. finally putting the pieces together, I scrambled to my feet. "sorry about that, least i had a soft landing this time" I chuckled as i extended a hand.
"You must be Yellow Tale, pleased to meet ya, the names applejack" she shook my hand...as well as the rest of me... Pretty sure I heard my shoulder pop. "Actually, my name is"
"Bubblegum Crisis? is that you?" I quickly bolted my head around and frowned.
there she was, standing there with a bittersweet smile, hiding malice in her eyes. "piss off, Spoon"
the grey mare adjusted her glasses for a moment, then she sighed. "still holding it against me I see, look...i'm sorry... it was"
"Diamond Tiara's idea, I know... wasn't my fault i actually felt something"
Silver Spoon lowered her head as she looked down. Acting on impulse, I lifted her chin up. "wasn't your fault either, it was just a bad idea" I'm too forgiving . "is she... still here?" I ask. Silver Spoon shakes her head.
"by the way... Scootaloo is looking for you" my ears perked up at this.
"Which way did she go, Spoon?" she pointed towards Sugarcube corner.
I ran towards the cafe in hopes that i'd find her there. seeing two colts simply looking at me in confusion. I jumped over the shorter one of the two. "sorry" I shouted as i took off again. I watched as Scootaloo left the small bakery.
I began to run faster.
Finally matching speed, I jumped onto the back of her scooter, slowly snaking my arms around her waist. "Slow down" I spoke in her ear, however... she didn't.
Instead she freaked out and somehow managed to crash in such a way that the two of us were sent flying.
luckily for her, I began to twist my body so she was safe.
unluckily for me... I landed in a rose bush.
So there we were, Scootaloo laying on top of me.
Me laying Literally on a bed of roses. I pulled a rose off the bush.
"thank god for soft landings hey Scootaloo?"
She looked up, I looked down and slowly went red in the face.
she looked down and saw the reason why.
instantly covering her cleavage, she shot me an irritated look... or tried to.
"Might as well dig the hole deeper"
She didn't move or try to get up. If she did that would only cause me more pain.
I took the rose and removed the thorns, then placed it in her hair. "there, now just stay still" I used my magic to levitate her off me and placed her on her feet "while we're here," I winced as i reached into my pocket "this came from the Princess, adressed to you" she took it out of my hand, still slightly shocked by my actions.
"Also... could you go get a doctor... and miss Roseluck... I think i owe her bush a trimming"
I mentally slapped my self for that last phrase, Scoots then broke don in laughter while she left.
I sat there on the counter top of the florists, wincing slightly as each thorns was removed from my back.
"sorry again, ow, about your bush, Roseluck" I grunted in between each removal.
she then chuckled. "least your not complaining about the thorns, BC"
the young florist then wiped the blood off my back, again causing me to jerk slightly.
she then heard the stream of different and very vulgar words, then she saw my face...
I was barely containing a blush. "you're not getting...." I simply nodded and squeaked in reply as the last thorn was removed.
"Sorry again about the bush" I manage to choke out from embarrassment. the mare simply rolled her eyes.
"thats fine... just... try and steer clear of the thorns next time" she giggled.
after what seemed like an age, I stepped out of the shop with a smile on my face.
the redness of my cheeks had died down now.
I began to trek down the road until the two colts i had jumped over were heard shouting abuse at someone.
looking over towards the two, I inwardly sighed. "trying to validate your own existence by alienating and abusing others huh boys?" I placed a hand on each of their shoulders. they turned to look at me, I took note that the taller one looked incredibly dopey and the other looked as though he had to do most of the thinking. I looked at them with a scowl.
"you two shouldn't be here"
"but the mailmare-" the short, stumpy one tried to interrupt
I flicked his nose. "shut up and apologize, both of you... if i catch wind that you havent..."
I let them go and carried on.
the duo stood confused, unsure what to do.
it had been a few hours since that little escapade, so I simply sat outside, looking up at the sky.
It was relaxing, but then again out of the corner of my eye, all i could really see was a telescope.
"Twilight... is there any real reason why your setting up a telescope near me?"
She then looked at me. "How long have you been down there? are those cuts? are you okay?"
"answers are, a couple of hours, yes and yes, roseluck patched me up"
Twilight visibly relaxed a little bit.
"well then BubbleGum, to answer your Question... I just felt like it" she grinned.
I scratched my chin, still looking towards the east. Twilight pointed her Telescope to the west.
she was having trouble finding a good clear spot. So I grabbed the tripod stand and lifted it.
She was about to protest when I held a finger to my lips. "shush, and bare with me for a second"
I walked a few meters with her trailing behind me with her stuff. I placed the Telescope down and began to re-configure the equipment. I then walked back to my spot. I began to think back to everything I've been through.
I seemed to have the inane ability to find trouble and fix things where-ever I go without even trying.
I continued to gaze at the newly emerging stars, letting my eyes adjust to the moonlight. I began to rummage for a very small notebook I began to carry around. I then pulled out a small pen and after finding a fresh page, began to write.
Or I at least tried, I felt a hand on my shoulder as I continued to look up. "dude, there's a party starting in five minutes" the figure extended another hand. I took the hand as the figure began to pull me up.
"Lead on" I grinned.
I followed the figure, my eyes tracing the rather feminine outline. soon we reached the town.
he face became illuminated. needless to say, my jaw became a little bit dusty as it hit the floor with a thud.
As my jaw was slowly lifted off the ground by a slender orange hand, Scootaloo shot me a small smile.
"well.... this is... new" She chuckled nervously as i violently shook my head.
I simply took her hand in mine. "so where's the real scootaloo?" I chuckled.
"Or was she just hiding behind the tomboyishness?" I joked once again.
she dragged me into the party. I took note of the banner. welcome to ponyville, Bubblegum Crisis .
I stood still for a moment, taking in the welcome. It was at that point... I knew i really was home.
"thanks everyone" I took note of Spike, he stood in the corner simply chilling out. As i scanned the hall, I could just about see the entire town partying hard. It was great sight to see. considering I hadn't been to a good shindig in an age, It was perfect.
Then I heard the familiar sound of a bass drum. I looked over towards a simple stage.
shrugging my shoulders, I looked over to Scootaloo, she had a small blush on her face.
I noticed some thing "Hey, the rose is still there" I smiled. she nodded again.
she then squeaked out something and simply disappeared into the crowd.
I shrugged my shoulders and made my way towards the punch.
pouring out some punch, I took a swig. Unfortunately the punch didn't have the right kick to it. I looked over to Pinkie, then saw the bottle in her hands. she was coming this way with a cheeky grin plastered on her face. I watched as she poured out a cupful of the stuff. she passed me the bottle. taking a tentative sniff I discovered to my delight that it was vodka. Pinkie watched as i took a swig then dumped the rest into the punch. she blinked for a moment. "you beat me to the punch!" she giggled.
I simply put it down as Pinkie being Pinkie. I looked around once again, noting Scootaloo talking with her friends.
then it hit me. she looked... beautiful . little did I notice a certain fashionista following my gaze, hearing that sole word escape my mouth.
Rarity looked me up and over for a moment before smiling. "It is considered rude to keep a lady waiting, Crisis"
My train of thought had finally crashed into a nearby wall. "ah...um... you heard that?"
Rarity nodded. I took another swig of the now spiked punch. I watched as both Applebloom and Sweetie Belle were swept off their feet. In an instant, I stood in front of her. she saw the hand reaching to hers. she looked up to see me smile.
she took my hand as I pulled her towards me. There it was, the tell-tale signs of a blush on her cheeks.
then again, my cheeks were pretty red too. not just because of the alcohol in my system.
"may I have this-" I was cut off as she was wrenched away from me.
I then felt the fist connect with my stomach. Looking up, I saw an old face I thought long gone. "Grid Iron, What are you doing here?" I asked before I was met with a foot to the gut.
the party had become deadly quiet. every one began to watch the scene unfold. "You remember blackfort? the town that got leveled by the dragon?"
I tried to nod, but simply winced in pain.
"What the hay? dude, it wasn't his fault!" Scootaloo shouted at the heavily drunk stallion who was currently using his hooves to illustrate a point. "MY SISTER'S DEAD BECAUSE OF THIS MIS-MATCHED FREAK!"
I sat up slowly, attempting to get my breath back. "you're right, because she told me to save the children"
Grid Iron stopped. "The children? in the orphanage? but no-one would have missed them"
within moments, he was on the floor. Scootaloo then promptly fled out of the door.
I looked at Grid Iron for a moment. "you should be ashamed of yourself" I then picked him up and dragged him to the backdoor. "I'll be right back, taking out the trash, and then I'm going to find Scootaloo"
my parents are dead
~Batman/ Bruce Wayne~
The sound of flesh hitting metal reverberated through the air, leaving a small satisfied smile on my face.
"now, Grid... stay put" I took off, running in the same direction as Scootaloo. As I ran it began to rain.
Anypony else would look for shelter. but not Scootaloo. sure enough, I found her, kneeling in front of gravestones.
I took my jacket off and draped it over her shoulders. She never said anything. She didn't need to.
I pulled her into a hug, the shirt I was wearing at the time was now wet through. My mane was now stuck along my nose.
she looked at me for a moment as I moved the lock of mane out of my face. "C'mon, lets get back to the party" She Looked at me, her eyes glistening with fresh tears. "okay, let's get you Home, yeah?" She simply nodded as I helped her up off the cold floor.
Soon enough, she put my long coat on properly, leaving me to drip water. I gave her a warm smile as she tried to avert her gaze. She wasn't really paying attention to where we were going. soon enough though. "uh.... Cris? my place is on the other side of town" I turned and smiled.
"well, Library's closer," I chuckled. "and I didn't state who's home we were going to" I stated with a wink.
I lifted the welcome mat and grabbed the keys, unlocking the door, letting the wet-maned.....
shake the thought, shake the thought, shake the thought
"Uhhh... I'll just go get some towels...." I quickly darted off leaving Scootaloo slightly confused.
She walked to a nearby mirror, giving herself a once over, noticing just how long her purple mane really was.
sensing it had an effect on the hero of this story, she simply gave a small sigh. "Colts..."
I was about to drop the towel on her head when she looked up, with a sad expression on her face.
I soon made my way down, and handed her a towel. "you want to talk about it?"
She shook her head. I simply walked in the kitchen and put the kettle on.
I surmised that twilight wouldn't mind too much if i raided the tea cupboard. walking in again, I could see Scoots huddled up, still looking a tad depressed. Kneeling down in front of her, I quickly tucked a stray lock of hair behind her ear. "hey, want a cup of tea?" she nodded and let out a very quiet yes.
It was painful to see her like this, someone so full of life, brought to a quiet whisper.
"what would you like? we've blueberry, raspberry, ginseng, sleepy time, green tea, green tea with honey and lemon, green tea with lemon, liver to the stir, ginger with honey, ginger without honey, almond, white truffle, blueberry chamomile, vanilla walnut, constant comment, and earl grey....oh and jasmine n lavender.... and normal tea"
She then looked at me for a moment. "um....I'll have the Ginger with honey"
I gave her a small smile.
soon enough, the kettle began its little whistle, and I began to work my magic.
I strolled in with two mugs, then I set down the teapot full of tea. "so... Grid Iron... he your Coltfriend or..."
I trailed off as she shook her head. "So what was that about?" she looked at me for a moment as tears threatened to break through. "foster parent?" I surmised. she again nodded. I pulled her into a hug.
"well, how about you move in to my place, would you like that?"
I felt a tear hit my back as she nodded. as I let go of her she slunk back into the corner of the sofa. but then I could see the small tell-tale sign on a blush. I lifted a mug of tea from the table, taking a quick swig. savoring the flavor, I decided I'd stoke up on tea in my new place. Placing the mug back down, I looked over to the orange mare. her mood had considerably improved since my little invitation and intervention. but it looked as though a new problem had arisen for her.
how ever, this problem was soon easily solved when she pounced on me. our lips met... and the tea grew cold.
If the world were perfect, it wouldn't be
Celestia Paced back and forth, wondering just what the hell was going on. She knew that discord would eventually escape once again, but actually bring aid from another dimension. Explanations were needed.
Discord, albeit a future one by a few shattered timelines brought about by the not-so-impending impending doom, was sitting drinking tea. completely oblivious to the air of worry surrounding the princess.
"Celestia, Calm down" The draconequus spoke. A twinge of sadness in his voice.
Unfortunately, Celestia was stuck in a rut with no exit plan. "why can't you tell me what happened, Discord, In the future"
with this, The mismatched being sighed as he finished his tea. "Sunshine, It's not that I Can't tell you," the sun goddess met his eyes. "its... that I don't think it will change anything" He gave a deep sigh, crushing his teacup like paper in the process.
he pulled out an old transcript and looked indiscreetly at the corner with a knowing frown. flicking through the pages of the old dusty tome. "Please Discord, I need to know" Celestia looked to him with pleading eyes.
"fine... but only if you do something for me"
"Anything" Celestia nodded. A small, sad smile graced Discords lips for a brief moment.
"promise me... Promise that you'll keep the kid safe"
Celestia was taken aback by the seriousness emanating from the spirit of chaos.
she accepted the terms. Discord began to recite the ancient legend.
a few hours after first contact the door was opened slowly by an angry Twilight followed by Spike and Rarity.
"I swear when i find Crisis I'm gonna turn him into a toad or something" the lavender mare then slumped into a chair, looking slightly worse for wear. "Come on, Twilight, he left to find Scootaloo, that counts for something...right?" Spike offered, but went almost ignored until Rarity gave a sigh "Spike's right, Twilight, its not like they could have gone far, from what i was told by Sweetie Belle... does anyone else hear that?"
the trio grew silent, listening to the sounds of soft snoring. "I think it's coming from the Guest room"
Rarity said as she neared the door. she pushed it open slightly and peeked in, "Rarity!" Twilight was about to scold the white mare, before she too gave in to her curiosity and joined her friend. Spike gave a small sigh, "what happened to privacy?" Spike placed his hands on the mares' shoulders and pulled them from the door.
"Spike, what can you smell?" Twilight asked.
"At the moment, Rarity's perfume, musty books.... and something else i can't quite put my claw on"
he looked down onto the sofa, seeing a small wet patch, "Rarity... remember what happened to your sofa last saturday? or more importantly...my tongue?" Rarity blushed all of a sudden and squeaked out a very nervous
"y-yes?"
"Lets just say... I think Twilight might be needing a new sofa"
I awoke to the sounds of Twilight basically losing her shit while Spike and Twilight broke with Laughter.
Opening the door, I was promptly hit in the face with a flying book. "Ok... one, keep it down some of us are trying to sleep, two, what the hell is so funny? and three, what was that for?"
Spike and rarity quickly apologized seeing the grim look etched across my face. "sorry man, we were just talking about the wet patch on the sofa, did you and scoots...um..." I gave the dragon a flat look.
"I'll take that as a no, what happened?"
"She had a bit of an emotional Breakdown... she'll be fine in the morning....I hope"
Rarity mirrored my look. "Is that all that happened?" I shook my head.
"Rarity, I suggest you ask your sister when you next see her, she knows Scoots better than anypony else" I sighed with a small smile. Twilight was still pissed off with me.
"Twilight, you know better than to throw books around, you could really hurts somebody... are we done here?"
they all nodded. "good, I'm going back to sleep" with that, I walked back into the guest room, laid on the floor in my spot and went back to sleep.
they heard the door close. "Spike?"
"How much did I owe you again?"
"just give me that iridescent Sapphire and we'll call it even"
Spike Grumbled as he handed the gem over. "Your a shrewd business mare, Rarity"
"yes but you love me for it, By the way... Sweetie Belle is staying at Applebloom's tonight so...."
Spike quickly grabbed his coat and grabbed Rarity by the hand. "lets go!"
Twilight stood there, looking slightly miffed.
then she crawled up stairs with an apathetic look emblazoned on her face.
"Damn it... Damn it all to Tartarus" she whispered before she fell asleep.
How his world fell into darkness
Celestia looked at the Chaotic being, regarding his words with uncertainty. "So basically, in your timeline..."
"that's why I did it, Celestia, Bringing the human here and turning him into a pony i mean"
"I see" Discord looked at the thinking sun-godess. "Discord... I want you to go to ponyville, disguised of course"
the mismatched spirit raised an eyebrow, but didn't question it. Things needed to go differently, They must go differently.
"before.... Before I leave there's..."
"Discord... just go"
Discord looked to the floor as he left. the images that he had been graced with from his timeline were mortifying to say the least. the mismatched being assumed the disguise of a small stallion unicorn, with red fur, and a dark gray mane, finally he settled on a nice suit. As he continued his journey to the station, he sighed, remaining stoic, concealing his true emotions was a difficult feat for him.
A flash of memory flew past his vision as he slowly drifted off to sleep on the friendship express.
Canterlot was in ruins, He had dug around looking for the elements of harmony. he found his own statue, smashed, defaced.
but what was next to it made his heart stop. he looked to the sun, noticing it had grown slightly colder and dimmer. "LUNA!" the mismatched being shouted as he reached the sisters. "no... Discord... its... too late" the small whisper, the soft voice of the slowly dying sun goddess was barely heard. "Sister... Please don't leave us... we are still in need thine guidance" Luna had reverted back to ye old canterlot, in a fit of panic. Discord knelt down and cradled the sun goddess's head in his paws.
"have you come to gloat?" Luna spat, clearly not noticing the look on Discord's face.
Celestia looked at the draconequus with a sad smile. "Discord, those tears... they aren't for me, are they?"
Discord nodded as he tried to hold them back. The chaotic being was finally broken.
"Celestia, I'm..."
"s..save it discord..." He grew silent as the alicorn slowly started to fade. He watched as the candle that was her life finally beginning to flicker.
the flame went out. Luna,in her anger turned to the draconequus and began to assault him with words. the words never reached his ears. he ran to the epicenter of the event and saw the elements, standing around the body of the lone human.
he could a lone voice crying out "Why You?" the voice was cracked and broken, tired, desperate and full of despair.
"Had to be me. Someone else might have gotten it wrong" the human spoke, in slight pain.
"stay with me, Joe!" the mare pleaded.
"s-sorry, Looks like," he coughed out an amount of blood, and with his last breath he finished his sentence. "I won't be able to take you to the beach like i promised". Silence fell.
Discord resigned himself to his fate. the element of chaos was thrown into a dark future in which he did not want to see.
but that wasn't all that was bothering him. we was a mis-understood being. but more than that... he was alone.
during his imprisonment he had watched the world go by. endlessly watching all of the ponies go about their business.
He then watched as celestia walked along with different ponies, talking as if they were old friends.
He knew then what he wanted. He wanted his freedom, only to give it all up.
Just to remain at her side when the time comes.
Discord woke with a start as a train attendant nudged him awake. "Excuse me sir, but the train has stopped"
Discord thanked the attendant and left the train.
He watched as a young mare left the library, with a small blush on her face. "Excuse me, miss, but do you know of a BubbleGum Crisis?" she squeaked and looked at Discord.
"h-he's in the library... Taking a shower" her blush deepened.
"thank you" with that, he stepped into the library and chose a book.
he waited.
"Hey, isn't that the tale Discord was first turned to stone?" I called out to the old stallion sitting in a recliner.
"Indeed it is, my mismatched friend" the voice sounded oddly familiar.
Twilight then came rushing down, seeing me looking him up and down. then she saw the recliner and shrugged.
he waved her off like a mild annoyance. That's when I remembered one vital piece of information.
The Library didn't have a recliner. "hey, Dad " upon this, Twilight almost died of shock.
"hey Kiddo," He flicked a page, refusing to look at me. "I'm surprised you haven't dyed your mane yet, It's what all the cool kids are doing nowadays isnt it?" Discord was trying to act fatherly, and I couldn't fault him for that.
"meh, I like being me" I saw the look on his face when he finally brought the book down.
Twilight then chimed in, "so this is your father? I presume you mean from earth?"
Discord's jaw dropped as he looked at me with fury. "they had a right to know, okay? I couldn't keep lying to them"
"Ms. Sparkle, I think my son and i, need to have a little talk... on our own" Discord shot her the most menacing glare i had ever seen him do.
with that, she left the library, taking Spike along with her. "Come on, we're going to see Rarity"
"so, you finally show up after 5 years, did you really think it was a good idea to show up at all?" I shouted at the draconequus.
His head hung low, "of course not... you know as well as I do why your really here" Discord broke his illusion.
I finally saw the being that did this to me, but it wasn't the same one.
Scars ran along the barrel of his body, his left eye was a milky pink and yellow color. burns ran up his talons and his right wing was missing. "What happened to you?" I place a hand on his shoulder.
he looked up at me for a moment. "Dad... tell me, please"
"I can't... now that your calling me your father its.... going to hurt even more"
I looked over the draconequus for a brief moment. "this has happened before hasn't it, countless times"
He nodded. "forgive me if i'm being morbid but.... was it a good death?"
again, he nodded, squeezing his eyes shut as tightly as possible so as not to shed any tears.
"Discord, I didn't ask for any of this, all i asked for was peace" He looked up at me and was about to speak.
"so I've got to fight for it, big deal, nothing comes easy" He stared at me for a moment, as if trying to recall a time where I've said those words before.
"You're right, Joe" he looked to the floor as he spoke, letting a single tear drop to the floor.
"Damn right I am, and its Crisis now remember?"
He nodded as he returned to his disguise, departing once more. leaving behind a glass eye and a letter.
within seconds, Twilight, Rarity and Spike had arrived. I sat there looking despondent.
Twilight finally plucked up some courage. "whats wrong?" she asked, carrying over an air of worry.
"nothing, just... miss my family I suppose" I gave them a small smile.
I sat there at a desk, writing out a letter for the 15th time.
dear Princes...
Mom ........
I watched as the green smoke left through the window. It was too late to take back what had been written.
I then told the dragon that i was going out for a while to check everything.
He gave me a small nod, watching me leave. As i walked out, I noticed the slight chill in the air.
the way the leaves danced around in a ritualistic circle, Like a tribe round a fire. I simply carried on walking.
I didn't notice Pinkie standing , looking up into space talking nonchalantly. "-and another thing, why do you keep using that analogy about leaves?" I shrugged it off. there was always something with that mare. Continuing my walk, I notice the different stalls set up once again. I simply sat down on a bench and watched the world go by, sifting through the five years of memories.
has it really been five years? I thought to myself. shit, time does fly . something had hit me on the back of the head and bounced off. "Sorry 'bout that" came the deep southern voice.
"No harm done, Big Mac, your Kid's got one heck of an arm" I gave the red stallion a smile.
he threw the ball to his son as Applebloom made her way towards us.
She stood there looking at me for a brief moment. almost as if she was studying me. "So, how did it go with Scootaloo?"
Big mac then began to eye me up. It seemed apparent that he viewed the orange mare as a part of the Apple family.
I shot Applebloom a small smile. "nothing much happened, why, did she say anything to you?"
She shook her head. "When I asked, she clamped up, Blushed like a school filly and took off"
Big Mac looked at me for a moment, then began to chuckle. I looked at him for a moment, then joined in.
Applebloom looked at the two of us as if we were mad. the laughter died down. "ya'll didn't..." she made a certain hand gesture which caused Big Mac to look at in mild rage until he saw the glimpse of a frown etched onto my face.
"so, you accuse me of taking advantage of her, is that it?" I got up and walked off.
Applebloom looked to her brother who simply shrugged. "he done tol' me nuthin sis, he's a strange one"
"ah know... I better go apologize" as she made her way towards Crisis, Big mac grabbed her by the arm.
"It's best not, he was sat down here with a pensive look about him, must be something mighty troubling if ya'll ask me... give him time" the yellow mare nodded as she walked off in the opposite direction...
She headed towards Carousel boutique, in the hopes that Sweetie Belle Might know what's going on. before she got there, however, she heard a phrase which sounded more like a plea for help. she entered the shop and simply placed a hoof on a fashionable shoulder. "um, Rarity, have you seen Swe-"
"She's upstairs, with a very red Scootaloo, and last time I checked Sweetie was looking a little pink too" Applebloom raised an eyebrow but didn't really press on further.
She simply went upstairs and entered the bedroom. the room fell quiet until finally Sweetie Belle cracked. "SCOOTALOOSAWCRISISNAKED!" Scootaloo took the opportunity to bury herself further.
"wait when?"
"t-this morning" Scootaloo squeaked out, much unlike her usual self.
"Wait... You didn't, Did you?"
Scootaloo shook her head as she slowly crawled out of her little hidey hole.
"then what happened last night?"
she told her about what happened to grid iron and then.. "I just kissed him there and then... I just... It just felt right ya know?"
Sweetie Belle had not heard this part of the story. "he gave up the bed and slept on the floor... it was almost as if he was.... Protecting me or something" She started to look down.
"Well ah'll be damned, looks like the hardcore ain't so hardcore now, is she?" Applebloom said in jest.
"Bite me" Scootaloo replied.
"Hey, That's Cris's Job" Sweetie Belle giggled out.
the three young mares began to laugh soon after.
as long as i exist there's hope for the world
I walked off towards my new Home, Collecting my keys from the mayor Along the way.
I took a deep sigh as the Key hit the lock. turning the key, I opened the door slowly.
Looking around the empty house, I could see the bare minimum of furnishings.
a simple Sofa.
Perfect.
but then again, this was, more or less, for free.
I carried on my little self-guided tour of my home, taking note of where everything was.
It was bizarre considering that i saw myself properly in a mirror for the first time since I left earth all those years ago.
As I stood staring at my mirror image, I began to realize, my eye's had never changed. they were as brown as the day there where when i first began existing. there was a little letter pushed through the letterbox, I opened it.
Dear BC
I finally got your letter... After much consideration.....
You have every right to call us.... your Parents...
but we'll never be able to replace your original ones....
So it looks like Luna is going to be an aunt from now on. you should have seen her face when i told her this.
She wasn't so much smiling but she was still happy... and great job on finding the first element Bearer...
but this is the hard part.... the explanation....
when ever you are ready, Come back to the castle....
but get settled in first.
your.... father has a lot to say to you...
from Celestia and discord
love
Mom and dad
I smiled, and promptly locked up and took off for the library again.
Celestia paced back and forth, waiting to hear from Discord. He was currently going over different timelines...
He hated dealing with his timelines. all of them, a jumbled mess. once, he would have claimed his mind to organized chaos... but now his mind was an overflowing cup. it was as if he was driven sane because of it.
He looked to the Celestia, not once did he try to say anything regarding their strange relationship.
they were both Demi-gods.... but neither of them wanted to be.
He sighed as he continued to sieve through the more recent time lines.
Each one had more or less the same out come....
the only difference was now, there was he was surviving until the very end. when the first timeline began, Crisis, as a human, would instantly sacrifice himself to protect the element bearers, represented by the original six.
it didn't end well.
it never ended well.
but as time shifted, things began to change.
the human began to last a little longer.
it was this recent idea that could win the battle.
But every thing comes at a price.
along the great planes of existence, he would pop in from time to time.
in fact... if you looked close enough in one scene in a certain film following a time traveling agent of an alien supervision bureau, you could just make him out in a crowd. but that's when he heard it... the phrase that would send shivers up his spine.
where there is death, there will always be death.
An undeniable truth.... one he did not want to face again.
He looked to Celestia for a brief second, which then became an uncomfortable few minutes.
"Is there a reason why your staring at me?"
"Sorry... I ah.... Spaced out for a moment there Celestia"
I had arrived at the Library. Spike was grumbling once again about running out of gems, I took it as normal.... when doesn't he grumble about gems. "yo Spike.... Guess who's moving out" I give him a big smile.
"cool man, Need any help?"
"If you've got time" I gave him a small smile.
I began to pack my clothes and placed my acoustic on my back. finally.... I had my own place....
I was finally
Home
For every minute you remain angry, you give up sixty seconds of peace of mind.
The morning was peaceful save for the sound of some-one getting more and more irate.
soon a rather loud banging was heard. the sound of metal on metal.
as it reverberated around the small town, mothers and fathers were issuing the command of cover your ears children
Scootaloo had noticed the front door was unlocked, so she sneaked inside. the teen looked around for a moment.
then she heard his voice, and with it, the most colorful usage of the equestrian language she had heard to date.
“Bastard!"
she stepped into the kitchen.
"Bastard bastard bastard. Stupid stupid bastard." I took a deep breath before grabbing an inanimate object. "you stupid stupid bastard. Stupid bastard arse!" I looked at the inanimate object with great offense. basically giving it the stink eye
"You arse! You stupid arse bastard. you stupid arse, bollock bastard, nipple, wank, turd!" slamming the object back down on the counter, I sighed
"Why won’t this fucking toaster work!” I heard a giggle from behind me.
"You did plug it in right?" I nodded as i turned around.
It was Scootaloo, standing before me with a slight blush. It looked to me like she was trying hard to look else where.
"hey, I'm not that bad....In fact..." I blinked twice "I just came out of the shower so.... I'm just gonna.... go find some clothes" my cheeks must have turned red... the heat was on. "Help your self to breakfast or something"
I sighed deeply for a moment as I meandered up the stairs. I heard a call coming from the bottom.
"hey, Cris... can we talk?"
I ran back down wearing a classic combination of jeans and a T-shirt. "isn't that what we're doing now?"
"No... I mean about.... what happened that night" she started to turn a little redder.
I looked at her for a moment, and noticed two coffee's sitting on the counter top.
picking them up, I walked into the Living room. "come on Scoots" she quickly flumped down next to me. I handed her a mug and took a swig. "so, what about that night?" I asked.
"I....Kinda Told the girls about it..."
"and?"
"I think Applebloom Might be jealous" I looked over to her, she was looking upset about it.
"what did Sweets have to say about it?" She looked at me for a moment.
"She's... Happy I guess"
"well then, what do you have to worry about?"
"nothing"
"exactly, now... how do you like your eggs?"
"erm... Sunny side up I guess"
I looked at her with a sly smile as I finished my coffee.
"Funny story actually, I like mine with one of these" I pulled her up off the sofa and close to me, kissing her as i did.
"smooth move Casanova," She smiled dreamily for a moment, then shook her head. "But it'll take more than that to catch me off guard"
I then looked at her with a pokerface. "What, Like the fact that Applebloom asked if we had knocked boots?"
needless to say... there was a lot of coffee to clean up.
it was boiling hot, and had covered my t-shirt.
"damn, button up shirt it is" I sighed.
I'm gonna be sore in the morning...
Allow me to be the first to say 'ouch.'
there was a distinct lack of things happening, almost as if things were becoming normal.
But what was normal? Normal was a fleeting ideal, notable for not really existing.
I looked towards scoots, she had just finished her food and handed me the plate.
"So, got your stuff ready?" I asked. she gazed at me for a brief moment, not realizing what I meant.
"Scootaloo, I meant what I said that night, you're free to move in"
she jumped on top of me just as the door opened. "Crisis? are you in here?"
the voice walked into the kitchen, seeing us in a heap on the floor.
As Scootaloo relinquished her hold over me, I simply smiled at the voice.
"ahhh.... Applebloom?" The orange mare quickly turned around, and became as rigid as a statue.
"Listen, Bloom, in case you haven't noticed, we're fully clothed, considering I only got out of the shower an hour ago"
Applebloom continued to give me the evil eye. "Don't think I don't know what yer up to, BC... Cause ah got mah eye on you"
Scoots finally spoke "Applebloom, what the hay is your problem?"
Applebloom was taken back by the sudden outburst, "my problem is him, he comes in, saves your life, then demands you to live with him?"
"Thats not wha-"
"and to top it off, your all over him like Fluttershy is when she's with mah brother, why? does he... hit you?"
"applebloom"
"why, I bet he's nothin but a good-fer-nothin-two-faced-sunnova-jackal"
"Thats enough" scootaloo finally gets out. She gets off me and stands right infront of her friend.
"He's nothing like that and you know it" Applebloom shook her head and walked out.
I sighed then took Scoots in my arms. stroking her mane to calm her down.
"She doesn't want to lose you" I manage to speak. She looked up at me.
"what?" she looks at me with confusion.
"you ever met her parents?" she shook her head.
"She lost hers when she was, by the sound of it, very young, and to top it off Big Mac is with Fluttershy some of the time"
"How do you know all this?" an air of worry and fear befell the room.
"Unicorn, remember? Fluttershy and her friends know," I bit back a thought. then extended a hand. "what I'm trying to say is.... Do you Trust me?"
she nodded. I placed a hand on her cheek, then touched her forehead with mine. my horn began to glow.
the glow enveloped both our heads.
Discord sat at a table in a small cafe, reading a newspaper. He was trying to look as normal as he could, but was failing.
he sipped his coffee and sighed deeply. "how did i know he was going to tell her" he shook his head with a small smile gracing his features. he started to walk but then stopped in front of Celestia's statue. he looked up.
clear blue skies were seen overhead.
But something was amiss. each element bearer had already chosen their successor, but didn't let on who.
Only one was left. He placed a hand on the statue's cheek, I've made my decision He thought to himself.
He set off once more to hop on the train.
Discord sat at the window once more, Dwelling on his past mistakes.
now all he wanted was redemption.
but redemption is always hard to achieve.
"What was tha... was that your life?" Scootaloo studied me for a moment. I braced myself on the table.
"remind me," I brought a hand up to my head. "to never do that spell again"
She quickly rushed over to my side helping me to the sofa in the Living room.
"Just stay there, i'll be back with Twilight... she'll know what to do"
with that, Scootaloo Left in search of Twilight.
Leaving me alone to sift through my thoughts.
I remembered each and every painful moment of my life up to this point.
But i could live with it...
I have to.
I'm gonna be sore in the morning...
Innuendo? in your endo!
Discord paced back and forth. Occasionally he would start to voice his thoughts.
"Celestia, I just want you to know.... no it doesn't sound right" He stopped to stare out of the window, watching the wind pick up leaves that drifted along the beaten path to Sweet Apple Acres.
after a while, He continued to think about what he wanted to say.
Darkness was coming.
He knew it, Celestia Knew it, and by the fates he would not let it happen again.
He pulled a pen and paper out of hammer space and began writing.
he wrote page after page of different speeches...
each one a different variant of the same thing.
A confession.
one of love, sorrow and regret.
Out of his peripheral vision he could see Scootaloo running frantically towards the library.
He looked at the newly finished house in the distance, and made his way towards it.
slowly he opened the door, hearing the groan of pain coming from the sofa.
"Son? are you alright?" Discord asked. he received a slightly pained "fuck off Dad " as a reply.
Discord said nothing, and sat down. he looked to his son with slight worry.
"sounds like Magic drain, and a bad one too"
"Memory Share... hurts like a bitch" Crisis said quietly.
just then, Scootaloo entered with Twilight in tow, Twilight then looked at the stallion sitting next to Crisis. "Magic drain, he'll be fine" The mares then watched as the Stallion pulled a bizarre looking potion out of no-where. "Have him Drink this, oh and Ms Twilight... I never got to say... Thank you"
Twilight looked at Discord, confused until he struck a pose mirroring his statue.
"I'd do it again... If I could" She said solemnly.
Discord Raised an eyebrow. "the elements had to Be passed down, Scootaloo and her friends got one each... the other two were also chosen, Its just... mine that needs to be passed"
Discord then gave the mare a slight smile. "well, seeing as you two already know who Brought him here," He Snapped his fingers, returning to his previous, malformed, mismatched body. "i may as well come clean" He bowed his head low.
Scootaloo was off in the other room administering the medicine. making sure that he drank all of it. then she kissed his forehead. as she did so, she listened in on the conversation.
"Discord? but... your encased in stone? how did..." Twilight trailed off, Inspecting the draconequus. "What happened to you?" He placed a talon-less eagle claw on her shoulder, and with a faint glow of his gnarled horn, he cast the same spell.
He then Pulled the now crying mare into a hug. "I'm so sorry for showing you that... now you see why I look like crap"
"Like Father, Like Son" I Chuckled out. Twilight looked at me with a small grin. "Your not that bad, Bubblegum"
"Suppose so" i stood up with a slight grunt, but then decided to just Pull Scootaloo onto my lap. "Dad, Did you Find out who the other elements are?"
the strange being simply nodded. "Are you going to tell me?"
he shook his head. "Applebloom and Sweetie Belle are two of them aren't they"
Discord then simply gave him a pat on the back and left with a snap of his talons.
"so, that just leaves three... marvelous" Crisis sighed.
all I knew was, I felt amazing, hell everything felt amazing.
Scootaloo, her fur on mine, her on my lap... well, something was going on because she was blushing furiously. "Did my Dad just Prank me with something?"
Twilight Looked a little flustered.
"I'll Leave you two alone" she hurried out of the house as quickly as she could.
"any Idea's what it was?" she asked, with a slight shake in her voice.
"Knowing him it could have been anything, He likes chaos" I surmised
"Could you stop...Poking me?" her voice trembled, as she took note of where my hands were.
"In case you haven't noticed my hands are up here and ooooooh dear lord I know what I'm poking you with"
here's where things get.... Complicated
In the beginning, there was darkness.
An eternal bleak void in which life could not be sustained.
Then came the celestial siblings. Brother Gaia and Sister Faust.
they floated alone in the abyss, pondering for almost an eternity. conversing with each other in an ancient long forgotten dialect no-one truly knows about. after a while, the siblings became bored with a meaningless abyss. they began to create meaning. first, they formed the stars, small beacons of light, to guide themselves from one side of this new plane of existence to the other. Then they created the planets.
small planets to begin with. but then as each planet grew and grew with the quick passage of time, they placed down different markers. markers of great significance. then, They created life.
Life in itself is a mystery. Lots of questions have been asked, such as "Where did we come from?" and "why are we here?"
the answers to those questions have eluded man kind for eons, and will continue to do so. However, Ponies are content with the answers of "Fucked if I know" and "fucked if i care" Wise words to live by.
but thats not why I'm delving into the history of Equus...
The elements had been located, yeah sure... all but one. Celestia was intent on making me their coveted Sixth Ranger... So to speak. I looked to Scootaloo for a moment as she Picked up her top. "That was a bad Idea Cris..."
It had been two weeks since the magic Drain, Scootaloo was gathering up her clothes, with a nervous smile.
I raised an eyebrow. "I wasn't that bad was I?" She simply giggled and went red in the face. struggling to find her words, I held up a pair of lacy panties. "I still never would believe you'd be one for lace, Scoots"
She gave a small sigh as she snatched them from my hands. I swung my legs over the edge of the bed, letting all three of them hang limply. well... almost limply. "What the hell? Scootaloo... Just throw me those jeans will ya?"
the said jeans landed on my head. as i pulled them off, I gave her a small smile.
"well hey, you said it would be fun, but do you really think I wouldn't have gone along with it if it wasn't a bad Idea?"
She Looked at me up and down for a moment. the simply raise a hand to her face. "well, look at the outcome, we're both naked, soaking wet and Might I add, one of us is a little....bit.... wow...." I stood up and turned my back, knowing what she was talking about at the end of the sentence.
I was desperately trying to hide an erection. "uh, yeah... That happened" I nervously chuckled out.
"So anyways," I pulled the jeans up. "Scootaloo... next time? warn me first!"
"How was I supposed to know the friggen thing would snap when we swung across!"
I began to laugh.
She smiled as she turned to me, noticing the Infinity symbol emblazoned on my shoulder. "So, what are we gonna do for the rest of the day?" I simply shrugged.
"Dinner? May aswell re-enforce the fact that we're dating now" considering it happened a week ago.
I wouldn't be surprised if someone tried to steal her away. She gave a bright smile.
yeah, I scored tickets to an Iron Mareden concert, turns out not only are they exactly the same band from earth but Scootaloo was a huge fan. I found this out through Belle. Turns out Belle wanted us to get together despite the fact that Applebloom had a distaste for me. I'll tell you now, when i heard the first few bars of Aces High... I flipped my shit.
but then again, so did she.
but thats also when the trouble began.
back to the history lesson...
where was i?
oh yeah.
the siblings created life. but without light there could be no light.
Gaia Created the moon. Faust created the sun. she placed the sun in the center of the galaxy, content in knowing her place. she provided the warmth of love to her new children. Gaia placed the moon in front of the sun protecting the fledgling race from harm. but soon Gaia grew Jealous, and created his own offspring, he then placed them on the planet. the two races soon started to become one as the countless millennia flew by.
Soon Gaia grew bored at first, but then began to notice something. He was not loved, He was ignored.
He grew angry. he began to lash out at the universe in his rage. Faust had begun to calm the raging god down but it was too late. In his fury he had corrupted the beings on the planet. it was just enough to get the small creatures to invent, curse and kill. but there was balance. He was still ignored, but now he knew better.
He knew what his anger could do. but not what his sister's could.
then came that terrible day. His sister had finally had enough of the small creatures, how they would fight each other in their petty wars, all in her name. many names were used to justify each side.
In the end, she finally succumbed to fury, and in the process, wiped out half a species.
Her brother stood before her, beaten, bruised and prepared to die for the race of beings.
he confronted her.
but all she wanted was love.
love like the species she had laid to waste had.
Love is an evil thing.
but it is a necessary evil.
her brother laid with her.
sating her needs.
new life was created and placed on the planet.
thus the first Alicorns were born....
the Alicorns known as...
oh fuck.
Hatred, Loneliness and darkness.
all of these can effect the psychology of a living being. all to a point where the individual will snap and start the killing.
the dark, dreary, Decrepit looking Alicorn paced back and forth in his Crystalline prison, silently cursing his once-soon-to-be-wife in an ancient-long-since-dead language.
He finally had gathered enough strength to break out. but what then? would he simply start the end of days all over again?
or would he begin to realize that the mortals needed a competent ruler. His descendants, to him, had failed as Rulers.
they would be the first to go in the cull. his rage burned to a peak and finally the crystal shattered. his spirit was released into the universe.
Now began his long journey back to the planet, with fire in his eyes, DawnBreaker made his way home, Dragging hell along for the ride.
the sounds of music could be heard over a pair of large headphones that rested around my neck.
As i walked along the beaten path towards sweet apple acres to finally confront Applebloom and her distinguished dislike of me.
the sooner this was out in the open the better. but then again, some times shit gets stirred to a point where I just want to throw my hands up and shout "FINE, FUCK YOU" but that wont happen.... I hope. I looked up for a moment, Not noticing the glint of crystal heading towards the planet surface.
Scootaloo had tried to convince me to try and talk to applebloom, on the premise that she won't go ballistic.
As I walked along the beaten path towards Sweet Apple Acres, I spotted AppleJack, "Yo, AppleJack, you alright?"
AppleJack was slightly out of breath. but she nodded. "yep, Just been running with Rainbow Dash" she grinned.
"Cool, hey.. have you seen Applebloom anywhere?"
"last ah saw, she was repairing the old crusader Club house" I raised an eyebrow but didn't Question it.
she then pointed towards the sounds of banging and swearing.
Then I heard it, "Girls, slow down, you're never gonna earn your marks trying everything under the sun n moon"
I gave a small Smile as I arrived. "She's right, young uns, the flow of the universe is a strange one, they lead us to whatever our destinies demand" the three young girls turned to look at me.
"Young uns? but you aint no older than me" Applebloom smirked.
I shrugged, "need any help Applebloom?" she nodded and pointed to the three fillies looking at me in confusion.
one of them finally asked me a Question. "How did you get your Cutie mark, Mister?"
I heard a giggle emanating from Applebloom. I frowned for a brief moment until I saw a small smile.
I sat down on a nearby log, Taking off my jacket, the mark emblazoned on my right bicep was made visible.
That's when Applebloom put down the hammer and started to listen. "well, several years, I was Training at the castle barracks with the royal guard. I'm seventeen now, but this was like... when i was your age" the fillies eyes widened with amazement. I pointed to my forearm, "I was involved in the Changling attack, were you taught about it?" the three of them nodded. "well, I won't beautify my own actions, But i'll tell you how I earned my mark"
I took a deep breath. and then weaved the tale.
"It was a boring day in canterlot, the usual beurocratic stuff was taking place, I stuck to the shadows as part of the Shadow Guard, appearing only when needed. the royal wedding was in full swing, until of course Queen Chrysalis attacked.
I was in the north wing when it happened. all I could do really was go out to the streets and try my best. armed with a short sword, I took down any changeling that tried to harm anyone. and thats when this showed up, but listen to me when i say don't go looking for trouble... things tend to get worse if you do"
the fillies looked at me in awe. they were speaking to what they thought was a hero.
they then promptly ran off in search of something to do.
I looked at Applebloom, "Ah never knew you were a hero"
"Please... Don't call me that, any ways.... why don't you like me that much?"
she shot me a sudden indignant look. "Your Hiding something"
I sighed, "Is that it? there's something else isn't there"
she nodded slightly with a sad look. I gave her a short version of most of my life.
I watched as her face went through almost every emotion.
"now onto the other problem... its not with me fully... its quite possibly with every couple you come across"
She sinks down lower.
I placed a hand on her shoulder.
"It's like there's a part of you that is a burning ball of rage screaming obscenities and phrases like how dare they rub it in! or fuck off, leave me alone before i kill you all
and the other half is holding it back while having a nervous smile plastered on its face.
all you can do now is carry on hiding behind a fake smile and hope to what ever being is out there that the mask you wear doesn’t break"
She looked up at me, "I been through it all, AppleBloom, theres no remedey... apart from getting out there"
I helped her up off the floor.
"Now then, what we doing about this clubhouse?"
