It's been precisely thirty years since Nightmare Moon escaped to cause eternal night, and about twenty-nine since Discord's similarly failed uprising. But instead of having two holidays, it was just easier for everyone to schedule one big celebration. Anyway, it is the first official Harmony Fair, and with the Elements of Harmony off in Ponyville, an excellent (and somewhat ironic) opportunity is presented for two terrible monsters long forgotten to Equestria.

Soon, Discord and Nightmare Moon are thrust into an adventure that they, and indeed, the rest of Equestria had never asked for with one very manageable, simple, reasonable goal in sight: world domination.

However, many forces oppose them. Namely, a princess with the capacity to move the sun and hundreds of years of experience up her sleeve, the aforementioned princess's whiny little sister, a gardener, her psychiatrist, a disturbingly senile pony and his disgruntled nurse, a duo of ghosts and, last and least, an ancient demon king who exists to torture the dead.

But that's never stopped them before, right?
