Early October, the sun has already started to set on a small highway, the rush of cars whooshes past. Richard Labonte had just recently finished his shift and was heading back home when an alert popped on his GPS.
“Warning accident reported ahead!” Said the GPS in a female monotone voice.
“So much for getting home on time,” Richard grumbled as he looked further through the windshield.
He was able to see flashing lights from emergency vehicles ahead and traffic was already slowing to a crawl. Not wanting to spend another hour on the road Richard reached up and pushed the detour option on his GPS. After a few seconds, it rerouted and gave him another way home.
To took a few minutes to exit the highway. “Turn right and then turn left onto service road 4,” The GPS said giving out directions.
Without much thought, Richard followed the directions and started to head down the side road. He looked over to his left looking at the flashing red and blue lights from a police car. It looked like a pickup truck flipped on its side and someone was being extracted by EMS onto a stretcher. Richard glanced once more in his rearview mirror and then returned his focus on the road ahead.
There was a flash of bright purple that caught Richard’s attention startling him. “Re.. re.. Rerouting,” The GPS said as the screen flickered. He looked to the right trying to see where the light came from but it was already gone like a flash of lightning.
Strange, I don’t remember a thunderstorm in the forecast tonight. He thought and then glanced up at the clear sky.
“At the next stop, turn right ,” GPS said as is screen flicker. He reached up and tapped on the GPS and the screen stopped flickering.
Richard turned onto the gravel road and drove on following the GPS directions. This road seemed to run between two large corn fields and there was a lack of street lights. Only the red glow in the western sky as the sun disappeared into the night. The radio was playing classical music as the minutes while driving. Richard looked again at the GPS wonder if it was sending him in the right direction. He reached up to check the directions when all of a sudden something large and white stepped out into the middle of the road.
“AHHh SHIT!!!!” He yelled out and instinctively grabbed the steering wheel with both hands and slammed down hard on the brake pedal. Time seemed to slow down as the adrenaline kick in.
All four wheels locked up and skidded along the gravel. There was a flash of blue light and then the feeling of something pushing against the front of the vehicle slowing it. Richard squinted because the light was very intense and then there was a dull thump and the light quickly blinked out like the flash of a camera. This all happened less than a second but seemed much longer to him.
Richard's heart was beating fast and loud in his ears. His knuckles were white gripping the top of the steering wheel. He looked left and then to the right, but was not able to see anything outside. Richard put the gear selector into park and turned on his 4-way flashers, he then turned off the radio. Slowly opening the door on the SUV he stepped out. The steady sound of the engine and the chirping of crickets outside filled the air. The gravel crunched under his shoes as he walked to the front of the SUV.
“Wonderful…” He said under his breath, noticing that part of the bumper was pushed in and the left front turning signal reflector was busted. But somehow the light bulb inside it survived. There may be more damage, but it was too dark outside to see much.
Did I hit a deer, maybe a small cow? Richard thought and started to look around. What he found in the left ditch behind his SUV was not a deer or a cow.
“Small horse or maybe a pony?” He said to himself trying to see more but it was getting dark. “That’s strange its muzzle is too short and purple hair?” Richard said to himself scratching his head trying to make sense of it. Looking closer he noticed that it was still breathing.
He walked back to his SUV where the lighting was better and took out his cell phone. Richard tried to call a local vet, but the office was closed for the night. He then tried another number, but the lines were busy.
Richard paced back and forth for a few minutes and then decided to mark the place on his GPS and then try to call again when he got back home. Walking back to the creature in the ditch he kneeled down and placed his hand on its chest.
“If you are in pain, I am sorry, I am no vet, but as soon as I get home, I will call for someone to get you,” He said not sure if talking to it would help, but it made him feel better.
Richard started walking back to his SUV and then heard a weak woman’s voice coming from behind him.
“Please help me, I 'm lost, I…” The voice pleaded.
He quickly turned around just in time to see two large blue eyes and a horn on its head. The white pony stumbled to its left and passed out falling onto its side, landing on the gravel.
“It talked?, You talked? Hey, can you hear me?” Richard said in a loud voice as he ran back.
He grabbed the muzzle and gently stroked its face, but the creature was not responding. After a few minutes, he gently laid her down and walked to the back of his vehicle.
This is crazy Richard, this better not be a mistake that you’ll regret. He thought to himself and opened the rear door and then folded the rear seats down. Reaching down, he slowly lifted the pony creature. She was heavy and he struggled to load her into the back of his SUV, grabbing her tail he pushed it inside just before the door closed. Richard climbed back into the driver's seat and then looked behind, noticing the horn on her head again.
“I hit a talking unicorn, oh my god,” He said closing the door and then put the SUV into drive and headed home.
Twilight's castle in Equestria
The mirror room is full of sparkling purple smoke. Twilight was busy trying to fan away the smoke with her wings while she coughed.
"Did everyone make it?" Twilight yelled out and started to see the outline of her friends.
"I'm over here Twilight," Applejack said and stepped forward now visible.
"Blah! This does not taste like cotton candy," Pinkie Pie said, trying to clean the sparkles from her tongue.
"Rarity? Where is Rarity?" Fluttershy asked as she flapped her wing, helping to clear the smoke.
"She was right behind us," Applejack said and stepped on a piece of broken glass.
"The Cristal Mirror!" Twilight said with a gasp.
She looked around and saw broken pieces of the mirror everywhere and it's frame split in half.
"Twilight where is Rarity?" Applejack asked, looking worried.
"I don't know," Twilight said and looking at the broken frame wonder what to do next.

Early next day at Richard’s house.
The home was an average size American bungalow with green grass, small flower garden, driveway and single garage. Richard’s gray SUV was backed up close to the garage, the front of the vehicle showed some damage to the bumper and a turning signal.
Richard was snoring gently as he slept on a nearby brown leather couch. He pulled on a blanket and tried to roll over, but the shape of the couch made it uncomfortable, so he rolled back.
An orange striped cat meowed and sniffed the white pony laying on a duvet on the floor. The cat’s tail gently brushed along the pony’s nose as it sniffed more trying to learn about this new white creature.
“Aaaahhh-chooo… ow.. Ow..” She sneezed with pain.
The pony wiggled her nose, which itched, opening her blue eyes, the room slowly came into focus. She looked down and felt the soft cushion under her legs. Then she looked up at the strange creature snoring on a large couch. For a moment she had the image of a small green dragon laying on the couch the same way. She tried to stand up only to feel a sharp pain coming from her right front leg.
“Ouch… ow.. Ow..” The pony said and limped looking at the tall walls and concrete floor. She smelled the air and noticed that it was damp like she was in a cave.
The cat meowed and looking up at her and then rubbed itself on her left leg.
“Hello there little one, can you help a pony out and tell me where I am?” She asked the cat who looked at her with curiosity and rubbed its head again on her leg.
“I guess you don’t understand me,” The pony said, looking at the cat.
“I do,” Richard said with a yawn, trying to wake up.
Memories of last night flooded back into his mind and he snapped awake looking at the white pony who started to walk backwards until her rear bumped into a table.
“Who.. who are you, where am I?” She said with a frightened voice watching the creature stand up tall on its back legs.
“My name is Richard, this is my home, I kind of hit you with my car and then brought you here,” He said trying to explain.
Richard was only dressed in his blue PJs, his blond hair was a mess. He stretched out feeling the soreness in his neck and back.
“I was running and then two bright lights…” The pony said, trying to remember what happened.
“Are you hurt is there something I can do?” Richard asked noticing her limping.
“I want to go home… but I don’t remember where home is… I... Who am I?” She said and started to panic.
“Please calm down, I’m and not going to hurt you,” He said slowly approaching her,
"Keep back, I'm warning you," Her horn started glowing blue and some random objects in the room started floating in the air.
"Ok, ok, I just wanted to check if you are hurt," Richard sat back down.
"Are you a doctor?" She asked him suspiciously.
"Not really, but my brother is an animal doctor, and he knows how to treat ponies," He said holding his hands.
"I am not an animal," The white pony said, walking forward and felt the sharp pain again, "OW!" She almost fell forward.
"Please let me call my brother, he may be able to help," Richard suggested concerned about her.
About an hour later a small pickup truck marked Crawford Veterinary Services on the sides pulled into the driveway. A man opened the truck door and climbed out. He was wearing a light brown, gray outfit with blue jeans and work boots.
The doorbell rang and Richard opened the door looking up at a man with a yellow beard dressed in light brown jack jacket. He had the same color blonde hair and hazel green eyes as Richard.
“Hi Matt sorry to bother you this morning before work,” Richard said as he yawned still dressed in his blue PJs.
“Where is it?” Matthew said, sounding annoyed.
“She's in the basement,” Richard said as he stepped back allowing Matt inside.
“How the heck did you get a pony down there?” Matthew said, holding a large black bag.
“It wasn’t easy, my back is still hurting,” Richard said and started walking towards the kitchen.
“You got to stop bringing animals home Richard,” He said and slowly walked down the stairs following him.
“This is different than before,” Richard explained as he reached the basement floor.
“Like that dog, I had to put down, and then you needed rabies shots,” Matthew said, climbing down to the basement floor and looked up.
He froze on the spot as his eyes saw a snow white pony looking back at him with big blue eyes and a horn on its head.
“Like I said, this is different,” Richard gently jabbed Matt snapping him out of it.
“Must be a mutation or a form of dwarfism, I have never seen anything like this before,” Matthew said and dropped his bag.
The pony walked slowly with a limp on her front right leg, her eyes looked at them both as she kept her distance. Matthew noticed that the pony was hurt and snapped back to reality. Opening his bag he removed some medical instruments.
“This could be serious if her leg is broken,” Matthew said and slowly approached the pony cautiously. “I may need your help Richard to hold her still,” He motioned him to join him.
“Can you please show him your injured leg,” Richard said in a calm voice,
The pony stopped walking, looked at Richard and then Matthew. She sat down and stuck out her right hoof for him to examine.
“That is one smart pony, is there something you are not telling me Richard?” Matthew said, looking suspiciously at him as he gently grabbed the right leg and started examining it.
“Did you see the horn on her head?” Richard said changing the subject while watching him work.
“It must be glued on, she could have escaped from a circus, her mane looks like it was colored, and what kind of person puts eyeliner on a pony. ” Matthew said and the pony looked away from him with her nose in the air acting like she was offended.
“I think you hurt her feelings,” He said with a smirk.
“Anyways, based on a general assessment, it seems that she just has a sprain and a bruised shoulder, a fracture is possible, but I would need some X-rays,” Matthew said and then put on his stethoscope.
He pressed the stethoscope to her chest, listening and then moved it to different areas. Richard walked closer and the pony looked up at him thinking and then looked back at Matthew feeling the cold metal pieced being pressed against her.
“She seems to have situs inversus,” He said looking a bit confused stepped back.
“Is that serious?” Richard said concerned.
The white pony also looked at the doctor with a worried expression which also surprised him with the display of emotions.
“It could just be her heart or all her organs are reversed,” Matthew said, trying to explain, “Simply put, it’s the mirror opposite of you, me and most animals,” He said and then looked at him. “Look she is fine, it’s just very unusual,” Matthew finished and walked back to his bag.
“Hear that, you are a very special pony,” Richard said talking to her.
She sighed in relief and walked up to Richard before sitting back down again. Matthew pulled large a needle from his bag with some vials.
“What you have, here is a rarity Richard, this pony’s muzzle is too short, her eyes are bigger than normal and pointing forwarded. I’ll take some blood samples back to work for testing,” He said and started to approach her with the needle.
She shook her head and cowered away from Matthew not wanting to get poked with that needle. He tried to get closer and she bumped into Richard.
“Easy their girl this won’t hurt,” Matthew said as he aimed the needle. Suddenly the needle started glowing and was pulled out of his hand. "What the heck?” He said as the needle shot across the room and hit the dartboard right in the center like a dart.
Matthew walked across the room and pulled the needle out of the dartboard. Richard looked and the pony noticing that her horn was glowing, she looked back at him and her horn stopped glowing.
“Well, I think, I better get going,” Matthew said, clearing his throat and started packing his medical bag.
Richard followed his brother upstairs and then back to the front door.
“Please, Matthew can you keep this a secret?” He asked his brother .
“I will, because one will believe me anyways, Richard in the meantime, you should start looking into renting a place on a farm, a basement is no place to keep a pony,” He answered.
Matthew slipped on his boots, then opened his bag again. He passed him a pill bottle and a yellow book.
“What’s this?” Richard said, looking at the pills and then the book which was titled ‘Horses for Dummies’
“These pills are for horses, only give her half the dose for pain. Also, this is a guidebook for my idiot brother, I'll be back later with a small leg brace,” He said and pushed the screen door open.
Richard watched his brother climb back into the truck and then reversed out of the driveway.
“Oh the nerve of that male, do I look like a pin cushion?” The pony said as her horn glowed.
“He was only trying to help you, taking blood for testing is part of his job," Richard said sitting back down on the couch.
She walked around the basement limping still exploring her surroundings.
"Do you have a name?” He asked her.
“Hmm… my name… I just can’t remember, it’s like it is at the tip of my tongue, but I can’t say it,” The pony said as she sat up and tapped her head with her right hoof.
Richard looked at her and then at her rear spotting the three purple diamonds. She looked at him feeling strange the way he was staring at her rear.
“How about the name Diamond?” Richard suggested.
“Diamond,” She repeated and thought about it for a moment, but that name brought up an unpleasant feeling. "No," The pony shoke her head.
"How about the name Pearl?" He suggested.
"Pearl sounds like a nice name, very well Richard, until I remember my name, you can call me Pearl," She said with a gentle smile.

New chapter.
I have been working on this one for awhile.
Hopefully, I got all the errors this time.
If I find anything later I will try to fix it.
One week later in Equestria...
Applejack was busy bucking some apple trees trying to keep her mind off of current problems. Fluttershy, Rainbow, and Pinkie walk together to Sweet Apple Acres. They spotted Applejack working in the orchard and walked towards her. It didn't take long for Applejack noticed them approaching.
“Hey y'all,” She said still busy bucking another tree, causing the apples to fall into a carefully placed basket.
“It’s been over a week now Applejack, someone has to talk to her,” Rainbow said in an unusually serious tone.
“Ah tried talking to her two days ago, but she won’t leave the castle,” Applejack said turning around to see her friends.
“And I baked her muffins, but she only ate one and went back into the mirror room,” Pinkie said looking concerned.
“Maybe we should ask Princess Celestia for help,” Fluttershy suggested looking at them.
“I can fly to the castle tonight,” Rainbow said, agreeing with her.
“Alright then, ah hope Princess Celestia can convince Twilight to come out,” Applejack said looking up at the sky.
“How’s Sweetie Belle doing?” Rainbow asked.
“Better now than the first few days,”Applejack said and started to walk. “She has been staying with Apple Bloom, but ah think her parents are going to want her to move back, at least until Rarity returns,” She said look back at her friends.
“I haven’t seen Spike around lately, is he in the castle with Twilight?” Pinkie asked them.
“Spike is living with me at the moment,” Fluttershy said, looking at them, “When he found out that Rarity was missing, he blamed Twilight and ran away," She said looking down.
“Oh heck, it’s wasn’t her fault, I’ll go and try to knock some sense into him,” Applejack said and walked up to Fluttershy.
Richard heard Pearl giggling like a schoolgirl, as she hummed a tune that he didn’t recognize.
“What are up to?” Richard called downstairs wondering what the white pony was doing.
The TV downstairs was on, playing a children's show on PBS. Pearl was spending her time cooped up watching TV trying to learn more about this world and how to read English. She was feeling much better now that her leg was almost fully healed and she seemed to be enjoying herself with this new discovery she found in the basement.
“Oh Richard, I am just admiring your taste in clothing,” She said with a goofy grin.
“My clothing?” He said and put down the carrots he was cleaning into the kitchen sink.
Quickly he wiped his hands dry on a small towel and then slowly walked down the stairs into the basement. Richard is noticing that the boxes he had in storage were floating in the air. Some of the boxes had been already been opened and ladies underwear of different colors were floating.
“You got good taste, Richard,” She smirked, looking closely at a red teddy that was floated right in front of her.
“No, no, no, those are my ex’s put them back now,” Richard said pointing his finger at her.
“What is an ex?” She asked, still looking at the red teddy.
“My former wife,” He grabbed the red teddy and stuffed it into a box. “She left lots of her stuff here, after she ran away, with another man,” He said with anger, grabbing more floating lingerie and stuffed clothing back into a box.
“Why do you hold onto things, that cause you unhappiness?” The white pony asked him.
“Because, I haven’t got around to tossing them out!” Richard yelled out and kicked one box aside.
Her ears drooped down and she looked around at all the boxes and released her magic. Clothing and boxes dropped to the floor. He looked at her as she started to back away afraid. With a sigh, he sat down on the leather couch trying to cool off.
“I’m sorry, I should not have touched the boxes without asking,” She said, and walked slowly to the couch and then sat down keeping her distance.
“It’s alright, I should have cleaned this up a long time ago,” He said, breathing in deeply and then looked at the white pony sitting nearby.
“Richard, I really like clothing, I think, I use to design outfits for other ponies, It may be strange for you, but I am sure about this,” Pearl said looking at the clothing and then at him.
Richard sat in silence for a moment thinking, then he stood up, walked to one box marked magazines and opened it. He reached inside and grabbed a woman's fashion magazine. Richard sat back down and showed her pictures of woman wearing a variety of different clothing. She looked with her eyes wide open taking in every detail.
“I am not sure if this will help,” He said and waved at the boxes.“But if you want to look in the boxes, maybe you will find some inspiration,” Richard placed the magazine next to her.
“Richard that’s so generous, but what if your ex wants her clothing back?” Pearl said and then covered her mouth realizing what she said.
“Well then that is just too bad for her, I will just say something like, Sorry but I gave it all away to a magical pony,” He said and stood up.
She hopped off the couch and walking on her rear legs. To his surprise, she hugged him with her left leg and rubbed her muzzle against his arm before letting go dropping back onto her front legs.
“Thank you,” Pearl said, looking up at him.
“Dinner will be ready soon,” Richard said with a smile, feeling a bit weird.
“Richard?” She called out, stopping him half way up the stairs.
“Yes?” He asked, looking back down.
“Can I eat dinner with you upstairs?” The white pony asked looking up.
“I got a better idea Pearl, I will come back down and we can eat together,” He said quickly climbing up the stairs and then closed the door.
“Ok... “ She said as her smile faded, being stuck in this basement was starting to bother her a lot.
Minutes later Richard opened the door and started climbing down the steps holding large bowl that had a mix of hay, carrots, sliced apples, and lettuce.
“Dinner is ready!” He called out when he reached the bottom.
Looking around, he spotted the leg brace, but no pony.
“Pearl?” Richard called again and then put the bowl down on a coffee table.
Feeling a slight breeze he looked at the rear door when was partially open and noticing that the lock was removed. He quickly ran to the door and pulled it open and looked up to find that the cellar door was also open. Richard climbed up the cement steps out into the backyard. She wasn’t in the backyard, but he spotted hoof prints heading to the front of the house.
“Pearl!” He yelled out and ran to the front of the house and first looked to the right but the sidewalk was empty. Then he looked to the left and spotted her purple tail and white rear end as she kept on walking on the sidewalk passing houses. Richard ran fast to catch up to her and walked right in front of her with his arms spread out.
“Pearl where are you going? Quick, let's head back before someone sees you,” He said talking quickly, looking around to see if anyone was watching.
“I don’t care what ponies… People think, why are you, keeping me locked up in that Basement? Why won’t let me talk to your brother, I'm not an animal, I just want to be treated like everyone else,” The pony said looking angry as her horn glowed as she tried to push him aside.
“Hello there Richard!” An elderly man with gray hair said as he just sat down on a wooden chair on the front porch of his house.
“Aaa Ya, Mr. Taylor,” Richard said, sounding nervous as he walked to Pearl’s right side trying to hide her.
“For a moment there I thought you were having an argument with your wife, but then I remembered she left over a year ago, my mind must be playing tricks on me,” He said looking at Richard and then squinted his eyes trying to see what was standing behind him. “Is that a dog? Must be a great dane or one of those large white sheep dogs,” Mr. Taylor said checking his pockets looking for his glasses.
“Y..Yes, I am just taking her for a walk, she can be a bit stubborn at times,” Richard said and stroked her back.
The pony grumbled rolling her eyes and stepped on Richard’s foot with her right hoof.
“OUCH!” He yelled out, pulling his foot away.
“I left my glasses in the kitchen, can you stay right there,” Mr. Taylor said and slowly went back into his house.
“Please, I beg you come back home,” Richard said, holding his hands like he was praying.
“Promise to treat me like a person, not as a prisoner,” She said looking serious with her big blue eyes.
“Ok, ok, I promise, can we go now?” He said hearing Mr. Taylor slowly approaching the door.
“I want to live upstairs and have my own bedroom,” The pony said as her tail swished from side to side.
“You... f… fine!” Richard said in defeat.
Pearl did a happy dance and turning around walking back to Richard house. He looked down at his right foot which had a visible imprint of a hoof mark in his sock. Richard walked back following the white pony.
“Richard?” Mr. Taylor called out and noticed that he was walking back home.
“Sorry Mr. Taylor got to go now,” Richard said in a loud voice and waved back at him.
“Nice to meet you, Mr. Taylor!” Pearl called out as she went into the house.
Mr. Taylor pushed up on his thick glasses and cleaned his ears. Then slumped back into his chair, looking confused.

Thanks for reading.
Thinking about the next one now.
A month has passed since Rarity went missing from Equestria…
Twilight finished repairing the mirror, but so far she has only been able to contact Sunset.
“I’m sorry Princess, the only Rarity here, is our own, but I will keep looking,” Sunset said looking in her magic book.
“I don’t understand, she has to be somewhere,” Twilight said sound frustrated looking down into her magic book.
“Maybe she is in another world, Princess Celestia told me that she use to visit different worlds with the mirror before Star Swirl put a spell on it,” Sunset explained thinking back.
“Why would he do that?” Twilight asked, looking at the mirror.
“Well, he may have been worried that she could get lost in another world or he just did it to annoy her, this is Star Swirl we are talking about after all,” Sunset said and brushed her long yellow-red hair back.
“What if I rearrange the crystals on the mirror frame , would it connect to another world?,” Twilight said and started writing some notes down on paper.
“Careful Twilight, I don’t want you to get lost like your friend, and please remember the sequence, I would like to be able to visit Equestria again,” Sunset said concerned.
It was now November and the days were getting colder. Richard wearing a coat while he stood on a ladder, scooping up dead leaves from the eavestrough before things started to freeze up.
“Look out below!” He called out, tossing a clump of wet mushy leaves and dirt.
“Yuck, careful Richard, You almost got some on my me,” Pearl said stepping back.
The lawn rake glowed a gentle blue as it raked up leaves into a nice large pile. Pearl was wearing a red scarf out that she made from an old sweater. Also, her fur has also thickened as the days got cold.
Since the incident, last month at a lot of things has changed in the house and between Richard and Pearl. She was now being treated like a roommate with some general rules. Pearl still needed to be careful when going outside, but the backyard was fine, most of the time since it was surrounded by a high wooden fence. Her living arrangements also changed from a couch in the basement to a bedroom with a double bed on the main level. The basement was transformed into a tailor shop with a sewing machine for Pearl. Richard created an online store and called the fashion line ‘Unicorn Delight’ To his surprise orders starting coming in and Pearl became a very busy pony.
“Want to trade places?” Richard said, tossing another clump of leaves.
“I would need a pair of wings like Rainbow Dash,” She said, scooping up leaves with her magic and dumping them into a yard bag.
“Who’s Rainbow Dash?” He asked as he started to climb down the ladder.
“She’s… my friend!” Pearl answered, sounding excited and dropped the rake.
“Wonderful,” Richard said as he tried to smile back.
She was slowing started to remember things every day. Richard felt that one day she would remember how to get back home and leave. It was a very familiar feeling that he didn’t like. Over the years his friends moved on, next it was his girlfriend who moved away. Not long after that, his family moved back to Canada. To top it all off his wife, then left him. Sure his brother was around, but even then they never hung out.
“Richard?” She called out noticing that he seemed to be lost in thought.
“Sorry Pearl, here, let me help you clean up,” He answered and grabbed the rake.
“So Richard, when are you going to take me to the movies?” Pearl asked him because she was curious after seeing it happen in a TV show.
“If it was the drive thru, I could sneak you in, but the smaller theater is not pony equipped,” He said pointing out the obvious.
“Just like everything else in this world,” Her ears drooped down and she started walking away.
Richard felt bad, walked up to her and gently rubbed along the side of her face. He was starting to understand her more and how to comfort her. His hand scratched behind her ear and her mood seemed to improve.
“This may sound strange, but how long can you stand on your rear legs?” Richard asked.
“I look ridiculous,” She said looking at herself in the mirror standing.
She was wearing a red trench coat with a matching long dress that covered her white legs. Her rear hooves were slipped into black boots. Richard was on his right knee tying up the laces. Pearl wobbled trying to keep her balance.
“It’s not that bad,” He said with a smile and grabbed a hat and placed in on her head covering her horn.
“Pinkie Pie would be rolling on the floor laughing if she saw me,” Pearl said, trying to look serious but she smiled thinking about it.
“Another one of your friends hmm,” Richard slipped a pair of sunglasses over her big blue eyes.
She stumbled backward and fell into Richard's arms and looked up at him as her sunglass tilted on her muzzle.
“Richard, I appreciate your effort, but I’ll be fine if we stay home and watch a movie,” The pony said as she was helped back up.
“What, and miss the real theater experience, I already bought and printed the tickets, so we can avoid the lineup,” He slipped his arm around her and started walking to the garage. “We are going to the late show so it will be dark with less people.” Richard smiled.
“I certainly hope the movie is worth it,” She said trying to walk forward almost tripping a few times.
Is was already past 8pm as Richard drove in the dark using the SUV’s headlights watching the road as he drove to a nearby mall. Pearl was sitting the front passenger side all dressed up. She was feeling a bit dizzy watching the street lights and car lights as they drove past. The pony closed her eyes and then opened them looking at Richard as he easily controlled the vehicle like it was nothing.
“This is the first time you have taken me out,” Pearl said with a gentle smile.
“Well, I, there was the park,” Richard said, remembering when he brought her to an old park that no one used.
“Yes, but this is more like a date,” She said remember something from TV.
“A date!.. Well, you see, it doesn’t have to be called a date, when you take a friend to the movies,” He tried to explain feeling a bead a sweat running down his face.
Pearl starting laughing at his reaction, knowing that the odds of them being anything more than friends was just a silly fantasy.
Not long the SUV pulled into the parking lot and drove around until a nearby parking spot was found. Richard pulled into the spot and put the SUV into park. He switched off the engine and looked over at the entrance and then checked the time on the radio.
“We got about 10 minutes until the movie starts, are you ready?” Richard asked looking over at her.
“Let’s do this, before I change my mind,” Pearl said as she put on her sunglasses with her magic.
He walked to the passenger side and help unfasten the belt and then slowly lowered her to the asphalt. Richard closed the door, then slipped his arm around her.
“Left, right, left, right, yeah that’s it just a bit further,” He said as they approached the doors to the mall. Richard pushed on the handicap button just to make this easier.
They made it into the theater, which was near the doors. Pearl's nose picked up the scent of popcorn and butter. She tried not looking at people directly. but the smell of popcorn was making her mouth water.
“Tickets please,” A theater employee asked.
Richard quickly gave him the tickets holding Pearl’s right arm. The employee glanced over noticing Pearl’s large white nose as he passed half the tickets back.
“num.. Number 5 enjoy the show,” He said trying to get a better look but Richard walked forward.
“She likes to Cosplay,” Richard said with a fake grin and moved quickly.
Another couple approached, catching the attention of the employee and then he shrugged it off getting back to work.
“Richard, what is cosplay?” She asked, looking at him through her sunglasses.
“I’ll explain after the movie,” He said leading her into screen 5.
Her eyes took a moment to adjust to the low light level in the room and she noticed rows of chairs side by side. She stumbled a bit as Richard slowly helped her into an empty row and helped her sit down. Pearl moaned softly, feeling the muscles on her rear legs throbbing. If there was a world record for a pony standing up, she thinks that she must have just broken it. Richard looked around noticing that the room was mostly empty. He removed Pearl sunglasses, revealing her big blue eyes. She blinked and smiled, looked back at him.
“Richard, can you please get me some popcorn?” Pearl asked, still sniffing the delicious aroma.
“Alright, just stay here, I’ll be back,” He said and quickly stood up and walked out of the room.
It felt unusual for her to be left alone in a strange place. She was getting so used to Richard being around always helping that she felt lonely when he wasn’t. Closing her eyes, she tried to remember what life was like before. It felt like she was trying to remember a dream she once had, some of the images were clear and others were not. She faintly heard a voice in her mind. “Rarity, Rarity where are you?” The voice called out and she tried to answer back.
“Twilight?” The pony called out.
“Who’s Twilight?” Richard said as he sat down with a large bag of popcorn and two large sodas.
“Richard!, oh thank goodness, I must have been daydreaming,” Pearl said and quickly noticed the popcorn.
The lights in the theater slowly dimmed and then there was a boom as a music and talking started. The curtain over the screen was pulled open by motors and the screen lit up starting with commercials. Pearl wanted to talk some more, but the music and sound was too loud. She watched on as some of the previews played. Then after about 10 minutes the movie actually started.
Richard glanced over noticing her eyes fixated on the movie. She looked back at him and leaned her head on his shoulder and gently rubbed her cheek. He smiled and reached for some popcorn. Pearl knew that using glowing magic here was a bad idea, so she allowed him to feed her. Richard tried not to giggled, feeling her eating from his hand. The experience was more interesting than the movie itself.
The movie was a mix of sci-fi, romance, and action.
“Alan, my time on this world is coming to end, Soon my kind will come and take me back to my world in the stars.” The leading lady said with green hair and a face with cat features.
“No, you can’t leave me, not after everything we have been through,” The young man said, standing with her under the night sky full of stars and the moon.
They looked at each other holding hands and then kissed. The scene then changed to a large bed and they started to undress.
Richard tried to cover Pearl's eyes, but she kept glancing over interested in learning about the mating habits. The scene didn’t last as it quickly faded to the window showing a falling star.
“They will be here by the next Twilight my love, will you fight for me?” The cat lady's voice said.
She looked at the movie as the moon quickly set and the sun ascended. Memories started flooding back to her. Richard noticed the look on her face, which seemed to change.
“What’s wrong?” He said in a quiet voice.
“My name is Rarity,” She answered.
Author's Note
Thanks for reading.
If there is any errors I missed I will try to fix them.
Rarity continued to watch the movie but seemed to be distracted by her own thoughts. Richard glanced over a few times. He noticed that she was not longer interested in the popcorn. Once the movie was finished, he helped her up and then slowly walked holding her side. The parking lot was almost empty at this time of night. Before Richard had a chance to grab his remote, she used her magic to unlock the SUV and opened the doors.
The drive home was quiet as he looked over to check. Rarity clothing glowed a light blue as it was pulled off her and neatly folding before landing in the back seat.
“So did you enjoy the movie?” He asked her trying to break the silence.
“Yes, it was a unique experience,” She said sounding more formal.
“Is there something bothering you?” Richard asked as he tried to keep his focus on the road.
“Of course, something is bothering me, Everything in fact! I have been living a lie, Richard,” Rarity said sounding very upset.
The SUV parked in the driveway and the passenger door opened. Rarity jumped out and landed on all fours. She quickly unlocked the house door with her magic and went inside before Richard had a chance to say anything. With a sigh, he reached inside the SUV, grabbed the clothing and then went inside and locked the doors.
Later that night...
Richard laid in his bed dressed in PJ’s, he could hear Rarity in the next room crying. The minutes ticked on and he started rolling from side to side, he tried to sleep but his body refused to listen. After a few minutes, he gave up and kicked himself out of bed. Slowly he walked in the dark to the extra bedroom and could hear her crying and mumbling to herself. Richard knocked on the door.
“Per… Rarity can I come in?” He asked in a quiet voice.
“There is nothing you can do Richard, I am sorry for keeping you awake,” She said sniffing.
“I don’t mind,” He said and slowly opened the door.
He found her lying on top of the bed sheets rubbing her eyes with her front legs, her nose was wet from crying. Richard spotted the box of kleenex and grabbed a small handful of tissues and then sat down on the edge of the bed.
“I’m a horrible pony,” Rarity said, looking at Richard.
“Why do you say that?” He asked and rubbed her nose dry with some kleenex.
“I forgot my friends, my sister, my home and I was happy here not knowing,” She answered feeling terrible.
“But you remember now and I am sure they have not forgotten about you,” Richard said.
“I’m one of the elements of harmony, I should be there helping Twilight. Who knows what might have happened to them without me,” Rarity said with more tears.
“There are still many things, I don’t understand about you and the world that you come from, What is the last thing you remember,” He said and wiped some of the tears away from her face.
“We were running away from a horde of Changelings and Twilight suggested that we use Queen Chrysalis’s viewing mirror to escape. There was a flash of green magic that hit the mirror just as I stepped into it. Then I remember the two bright lights from your car,” She said and rolled over burying her face in the pillow. “I am trapped here with no way home,”
“My home is your home until you find your way back,” He said, feeling a tear running down his cheek.
Richard laid down next to her, feeling some dampness in the pillow. He reached over and wrapped his arm around her. His fingers gently stroked her smooth white fur. She started to calm down and laid still. After a while, Rarity fell asleep, so Richard rolled gently off the bed and walked back to his room.
Sometime in the middle of the night he woke up and made a quick stop in the bathroom. When he slipped back into the bed he noticed that Rarity was lying next to him with her eyes close.
“Pearl… Rarity?” He said and corrected himself.
“I don’t mind if you call me that,” She said in a soft voice.
“You should be in your own bed,” Richard said looking at her.
“Please just for tonight,” Rarity said, opening her eyes half away.
“Fine,” He said, giving in to sleep.
Richard awoke to the sound of dishes and the fresh smell of coffee being made. He slowly sat up on the side of the bed rubbing his eyes and then let out a yawn. Blinking his eyes open, he looked back at the bed and noticed a few strands of white fur. He then felt his cat rubbing against his leg. Reaching down, he picked up the cat and stroked its head and then along its back. Richard placed the cat on the bed and went out into the hallway.
He walked into the kitchen to find Rarity wearing a short apron. She must have already taken a shower because her purple mane was combed, her fur was clean and she smelled like hair conditioner. Her horn glowed a gentle blue as she poured cereal, milk, coffee and pushed down on the toaster all at the same time.
“Good morning Richard dear, breakfast is almost ready,” She said in a gentle voice.
“Ya umm, good morning Pr… Rarity,” He said raising an eyebrow.
Just as he was going to grab the chair it glowed and moved for him. Richard sat down and the chair pushed its self-closer to the table. He looked down to see, his breakfast already made and ready to eat . The toaster popped up and the toasted bread was lifted and buttered in the air before landing on his plate next to the bowl of cereal.
“It's still amazing to see you use your magic,” Richard said and then took a sip of coffee. “How are you feeling today?” He asked still worried.
“I’m still sad, but I want to apologize for ruining our evening, you have been so kind to me, I wanted to repay your kindness,” Rarity said and sat down.
Richard stood up and walked behind her chair and then pushed it closer to the table, she looked up at him and he smiled.
“That’s what friends are for,” Richard said and then sat back down in his chair.
She smiled, but a part of her wanted him to say something more. Putting that thought out of her mind, she then focused on breakfast. Rarity enjoyed her oat bran, soy milk, a whole wheat bread and a tall glass of apple juice. She used her magic and ate from a large spoon that floated in the air. Richard ate breakfast thinking about last night, wondering if he would have felt the same way if he got stuck in her world. After breakfast Rarity tried to clean up but he insisted on cleaning the dishes for her.
“Richard, can you take me back to the place where you found me?” She asked noticing Richard's face drop.
“If that is what you want, do you think there is a way back to your world?” He asked her.
“Maybe, perhaps, I don’t know… but if there is a chance,” Rarity said having mixed feelings. Sure, she wanted to go home, but the thought of leaving Richard hurt.

Another chapter done.
I have some idea's for the next chapter I will be working on soon.
Richard drove to the spot marked on his GPS. Rarity sat in the front seat looking around at the vast landscape. The local farms have already cut down the crop for the winter and the large fields now looked barren.
“You have arrived at your destination,” Said the GPS as it also beeped.
He pulled to the side of the gravel road to allow what little traffic there is to pass. With a sigh, Richard put the SUV in park, turned off the engine and removed the key. Rarity could tell something was bothering him.
“Here we are, I think this is the spot,” He said and opened his door.
Rarity used her magic to unbuckle and open her door. She then jumped out and landed on the gravel with her hooves. Richard walked up next to her, he was dressed in, brown shirt, blue jeans, with a green jacket and boots. Rarity was wearing her homemade red scarf. They both could feel the cold wind out here, there was no nearby buildings or trees to slow the air down.
“Richard, do you remember which direction I was running before the accident?” She asked looking up at him.
He walked out into the middle of the road and then turned to the direction he would be driving if heading back into town.
“I think it was from left to right, so you were heading this direction,” He said pointing to the right.
“Then we should go left,” Rarity said and started walking onto the field.
“That's private property Rarity, we can get in trouble for trespassing,” Richard said following her to the field.
“I just need a few minutes to look around,” She said walking.
“Fine,” He said with a grumble.
The ground was firming up from the cold weather, but there were still soft spots in the soil. He had to stop a few times to tug on his boots. Rarity was having fewer problems since her weight was spread across her four hooves.
“Do you feel that?” Rarity asked, looking back at Richard.
“Sorry, I don’t feel anything besides the cold,” He answered with a shrug.
“Just a moment,” She said and closed her eyes.
Rarity’s horn started glowing blue and she walked in a circle with her eyes closed.
“I sense magic, it might be from Equestria,” She said, sounding more excited and continued to walk, turning left.
“So you horn also works like an antenna to, hmm... is there any chance you can tune into a good radio station?” Richard said with a smile.
“Ha-ha, funny, but yes, it works something like that,” Rarity said opening her eyes.
She stopped walking and Richard walked into her rear and almost fell on top of her.
“Sorry, didn’t see you stop in time,” He said and quickly brushed her fur back into place.
“Careful, I almost bucked you,” She said as she noticed something, her front hoof thumped against something in the ground.
Rarity felt like she was standing on something hard. She looked down and then tried to dig with her front hooves without much luck.
“What did you find?” Richard asked, moving in front of her.
“Richard dear can you use your wonderful hands and help me dig here,” Rarity said stepping back.
“Oh, so you like my hands do ya,” He said with a wink.
Rarity blushed at his remark and watched him kneel down. He started scooping up dirt with his hands digging and felt something buried in the ground. Richard grabbed it and started wiggling it until it came loose out of the ground. He fell back onto his rear holding the object in his hands.
“I got it, whatever it is,” He said and started to clean it.
Removing the dirt revealed a large light purple gem encased in a broken piece of purple wood. Rarity looked at it for a moment, trying to remember where it came front.
“This looks like it is from the crystal mirror!” She exclaimed with a smile.
Richard stood up when he heard the sound of a motor and then spotted the tractor heading in their direction.
“We need to go now!” Richard said and started walking fast holding the gem in his right arm.
Rarity quickly followed him back to the SUV and noticed a large black van that was parked far away down the road. They quickly reached the SUV and Richard helped Rarity in and put the gem onto the floor. He jumped into his seat and started the engine and drove off in a hurry.
“Richard, I think someone was watching us,” Rarity said looking back.
“Wonderful,” He said sarcastically.
Richard glanced in the rearview mirror, but didn’t see anyone following and breathed a sigh of relief. But unknown to them there was a small black box with a blinking red light attached to the bottom of his SUV.
Later that day back at home. Richard was in his garage and closed the large door, he then sat down on a stool and placed the purple gem onto his workbench. Rarity walked up to him and gently brushed her side against him without realizing.
“So any ideas?” Richard asked her since he knew nothing about Equestrian magic.
“If Twilight was, here I am sure she would have some,” She answered, looking at the gem and then to Richard. “I may know some magic, but compared to her I am just an amateur,” Rarity said as her ears dropped.
“Well, I am completely clueless so tell me more about this crystal mirror,” Richard said and gently stroked her back with his fingers.
Rarity told him everything she knew about the mirror, how it use to be powered by the moon every 30 cycles. Since then Twilight found another power source and was able to switch it on when she wanted to use it. He then heard about the story of Sunset Shimmer and that a few others were transported to another world.
“Sounds like a Stargate,” Richard said, remembering a TV show he used to watch.
“A star what?” Rarity asked him.
“It’s a fictional TV show about a big round circle with different symbols. Depending on the combination of symbols, it opened a portal to different worlds,” He finished explaining.
“That does sound similar, but I am not sure how that can help us,” She said.
“Well in the show, there were parts missing from the gate so they had to experiment until they got it working,” Richard said and grabbed the gem. “So let's try attaching this gem to a large mirror and then wait for the moon,” He said looking at it.
“I don’t think it will be that simple Richard,” Rarity said.
"Won't know unless we try," He said and stood up.
Richard went into the basement and grabbed a large oval mirror that was also left by his ex. He carefully carried it upstairs, through the house and then into the garage. He placed the gem on the top of the wood frame and made an outline with a pencil. Using a rotary tool he slowly notched out a slot for the gem. Rarity watched him work with his hands. Humans don't need magic like ponies, can build with their need. She thought to herself.
"I think that will do it," He said and pushed the gem into the frame and then used some small screws to hold it in place.
"You worked so hard dear, let me help you bring it inside," She said as her horn glowed blue and the mirror floated in the air weightless.
"How much weight can you lift with your magic?" Richard asked sounding curious.
"As long as it doesn't weigh more than me," Rarity answered.
"Let's put this mirror in your room, near the window," He suggested and opened the door for her.
The top of the mirror went into the hallway head first. It then floated all the way into the bedroom and rotated upright before landing with a gentle thump on the floor near the window. Rarity looked in the mirror looking at her reflection and saw Richard standing by the door.
"Richard, can you come here please?" She asked him.
"Ok," He said and walked up next to her.
"Now down here," Rarity said, wiggling her front hoof motioning him closer.
Richard was not sure what she wanted, but he kneeled down so he was the same height as her.
"Much better, this would make a lovely picture of us," She said, leaning against him looking at there reflecting in the mirror.
"I can do that right now," Richard said and took out his phone. "Now on the count of 3 say cheese," He swiped on the camera mode and flipped the camera to the front and tapped the screen that started a countdown.
"CHEESE!" They both said as the phone made a click taking the photo.
"Again!" Rarity said with a giggle and made a funny face with her tongue out.
"Fine, you silly pony," Richard made a goofy face and they took another photo.
"Well, someone has to pick up the slack without Pinkie around," She said, feeling happier than she has been in a long time.
Richard feeling goofy as well reached over and tickled her with his fingers. Rarity squealed out feeling tickles for the first time with his fingers.
"Looks like someone is ticklish," He said, stating the obvious as they both rolled on the floor.
"I was wrong your hands are evil!" She said and jumped on top of him and held his arms down with her hooves.
Richard smirked, looking up at Rarity as she tried to look serious, but softened to a grin. She lowered herself spread out her legs to lay her body on top of him.
"Rarity?" He asked, feeling her onto of him.
"Richard, will you miss me when I am gone?" She asked, looking at him with her big blue eyes.
"Of, course I will," Richard caressed the side of her face, tracing his fingers around the side of her muzzle and then around her pointy ears.
"Me to..." Rarity laid her head against his chest.

New chapter.
Things should get more interesting now.
Some of the windows shattered under the intense heat releasing black and gray smoke. The flames licked the walls consuming everything in its path. The crowd was growing with spectators watch the house burn. A police car was the first on the screen and the officers were quick to make sure the people kept their distance. One of the men in uniform started pounding on the doors of houses nearby to alert any people inside of the danger.
[Agent 1 and 5 report!] The professor’s voice yelled from their earbuds.
“The alien just ran into a burning building,” Agent 1 said talking to his watch and then brushed the grass from his knees
[Agent 1 your tuxedo is fire resistant, get in there and drag that creature out before we lose it!] The professor ordered.
“I’m not risking my life for some freakin talking pony!” He grabbed his ear bud and threw it away.
“Make yourself useful and hold this,” Michael said, shoving the heavy net launcher into the agent’s hand. “I’m going in,” He said in a deep voice.
Agent 1 fell into his rear holding all the equipment and watched Michael run towards the burning house.
“Mr. Taylor!” She called again between coughs, her eyes watered as she tried to see through the thick smoke. Bumping into furniture as she stumbled forward, feeling the tense heat getting worse. A piece of burning wood fell from the ceiling and almost hit her. Her mane was getting singed from the flames and started curling.
“Help.. me…” A voice called out in a weak voice and coughed.
Rarity ears pointed up locking in on voice. She stumbled forward with almost zero visibility until she stepped into a small kitchen. The walls around the stove were burning through to the dry timber cracking as the fire consumed all. The heat was unbearable and her fur was started to curling. Rarity instincts of self-preservation were screaming at her to escape. Her front hoof bumped into a body lying on the floor.
“Mr. Taylor, hang on I got you!” She yelled out, but it seemed that the old man was unconscious.
The Mr. Taylor body was surrounded by blue magic as Rarity struggled to lift the man into her back. She tried to keep hold with her magic as she slowly pulled him away from the flames that were licking at his legs and her tail. Rarity ignored the pain and kept pushing her body and mind beyond their limits. She was feeling light headed and disoriented trying to find the way out, smoke was everywhere and she could not find the exit. It felt like she was sleepwalking as her consciousness began to fade from the lack of fresh air. She could not keep her eyes open as the world went blank.
Twilight Sparkle suddenly stopped walking and her eyes started glowing. Spike was not sure what was going but then he noticed Twilight eyes glowing and felt the magic of her element.
“It's Rarity! She needs are help!” Twilight yelled out.
Applejack was in a middle of a conversation with her brother when she felt her element activating. Twilight voice called to her in her mind as her magic linked up.
“Ah, here, ya Twilight,” She said and her eyes started glowing.
“Here's your cake and....” Pinkie stopped mid-sentence as her eye started glowing. “Party time already Twilight!” She said to herself, which confused the blue pony as he grabbed the cake from the counter.
Fluttershy, was acting as a conductor waving her hooves at the group of birds who responding by chirping out a tune. She stopped and dropped on her hooves feeling her element from deep inside. Fluttershy’s eyes glowed feeling the magic of the others, mingling with hers.
“I’m ready Twilight,” She said, responding to Twilight.
Rainbow Dash was napping on a cloud when suddenly she got jolted awake from the burst of magic.
“Whoa, what's going on?” She said out loud.
Twilight voice called out in her mind.
“Rarity for real? Alright, then I’m ready!” She stood up on her hoofs and her eyes glowed.
Discord was in Twilight’s castle fiddling with the mirror when the crystals started glowing on their own.
“Looks like they will not need my help after all,” He smirked and disappeared in a flash.
Magic burst forth from all 5 ponies each a different color and combined into a rainbow and streaked into the air. The blast of magic entered Twilight's castle through an open window and zippered towards the mirror and disappeared into a swirling portal.
The crystal that Richard installed in an old mirror started glowing brightly and a portal appeared. A blast of rainbow colored magic zoomed out and bounced on the walls until passed through a window glass as if it wasn’t there.
5 different voices calling her name. In her mind, the blackness changed to light and she saw herself standing in a middle of a pentagon, surrounded by her friends.
“I missed you all so much I am sorry!” Rarity said, looking at her friends one at a time.
“We missed you to Rarity, now let's help you out of this mess,” Twilight said and the others nodded.
Her friends turned into beams of energy and shot into Rarity’s body as she looked upward feeling the magic of her friends giving her strength. She opened eyes and stood up no longer feeling pain as her strength returned. Her eyes now were glowing blue with her horn. Her magic created a bubble that pushed the smoke and fire back. It continued to grow and expand extinguishing the fire as the bubble expanded. The Firefighters outside were hosing down the house from different angles. Suddenly all the flames and smoke stopped to their surprise.
“What the hell is going on?” One of them yelled out nothing that the house was glowing blue and the water started to be pushed back.
“Mommy the house is glowing!” The small girl said pointing at it.
The crowd oohed and ahhed at the spectral. A news helicopter happened to be in the area and zoom in on the house.
"Are you seeing this? It's like some kind of blue force field appeared around the house, not sure how else to describe it. The fire is out and everyone is watching," Said a TV reporter on the ground looking into a camera.
Michael found Rarity standing still in the middle of the house. She appeared to be an in a trance, and the old man was sitting on his rear next to the pony fully awake. If he had any injuries before, they are now healed.
“Are you an angel?” Mr. Taylor said squinted, looking at glowing snow white pony.
“Hello, can you hear me?” Michael called out waving his hand in front of her glowing eyes.
“What who?” Rarity blinked a few times as the glow disappeared and shook her head as she came back to her senses.
“The fire is out now, but the house is still in bad shape, we need to get out of here,” Michael said and grabbed Mr. Taylor’s arm and help him up.
She nodded, feeling like she just woke up from a dream and walked to the front entrance. Michael followed the pony noticing that some of her fur was burnt. Her tail was much shorter now and her mane also was shortened with curls.
Rarity squinted as walk out of the dark blackened house into the sunlight. Water was dripping from the outer walls. Suddenly she started to hear people clapping and cheering from across the street. Michael walked out with Mr. Taylor and then notice a large TV camera pointing in their direction. A reporter was talking to the camera and tried to get closer only to be pushed back by the police. A fireman moved closer and grabbed the old man leading him to a nearby ambulance. Another one wanted to help the agent, but he just pushed them away.
“Professor we have a situation,” Michael said, holding a button on his watch.
Rarity tried to smile as the cell phones and cameras flashed taking pictures.
"I don't believe my eyes, but standing right there is a small unicorn about the size of a pony. We have a witness here by the name of Julie, can you tell us watch you saw?" The lady TV reporter lowered her microphone to the girl.
"The pony went into the house and used her magic to stop the fire, she wanted to save Mr. Tylor because everyone else was afraid," She said holding onto her mother's hand.
“Richard, what have I done?" She said to herself, realizing that the life as she knows it was about to change.
Author's Note
Another chapter finished.
Slowly finishing my other projects at home as well.
“Rarity I’m home, did you see what happened next door? ” Richard said in a loud voice putting his jacket away.
Matthew stepped out from the kitchen looking serious with his arms crossed.
“Matthew why are you here, what is going on?” He said surprised and then worried.
“There was a fire next door and your pony decided to play hero,” His brother said looking at him.
“Where is she!?” Richard yelled and ran up to his brother.
“Hold it, Richard, there is something else you should know,” He said looking back at the kitchen.
A tall black man in a tuxedo stepped out from the kitchen. The man had to lower his bald head to avoid the light fixture as he walked up to Richard who looked up nervously.
“Hello Richard Labonte, My name is Michael Knight from Homeland Security,” He said showing his badge.
“Knight Rider?” Richard said from the top of his head and got an elbow in the side from Matthew. “Ouch!” He said, rubbing his shoulder.
“Funny that is what they use to call me at the agency,” Michael said in his deep voice, “Come with me to the kitchen so we can talk,” He said putting his large right hand on Richard’s shoulder, giving him the impression that he did not have a choice.
“Am I in trouble?” Richard asked, sitting down at his table.
“Well, Mr. Labonte that depends on you,” The agent as he sat in the chair on the other side of the table.
“I’ll cooperate, please don’t hurt her,” Richard pleaded.
Michael pulled out a digital recorder from a pocket and set it on the table.
“I already have a statement from your brother now it’s your turn, let’s start from the beginning,” Michael said and pressed the record button.
Richard spent the next hour answering questions about how he met Rarity, where she came from, how she got here, what are her powers, eating habits and more. His throat was starting to feel dry from all the questions he was answering. Then one question came up that made him very uncomfortable.
“What is your relationship with the alien?” Michael asked, looking at him directly in the eyes.
“We are good friends, I care about her,” Richard said, looking at him and then down at his hands.
“Let me rephrase the question, have you slept with her?” The agent asked.
“Well, she likes to share my bed,” He said looking down rubbing his hands together.
“Oh My God, Richard, she is not even human!” His brother yelled out which caused Michael and Richard to look at him.
“Nothing happened, we just sleep!” Richard said standing up.
“Well then that concludes the questions for now,” He said, pressing a button on the recorder.
“Where is Rarity?” Richard asked.
Rarity was surrounded by people dressed in white lab coats, wearing full masks and latex gloves. She was in a large laboratory that had machines of different shapes of sizes. There was a large boxlike machine with a large hole in the middle that was making a humming noise. The strange people dressed in white were trying to place her onto the platform that went into the machine.
“KEEP AWAY FROM ME!” She said jumping around bucking wildly.
They stepped back to avoid being hit. Rarity starting walking fast around the large room, knocking over test tubes and flasks that shattered against the smooth marble floor. She was trying to find a way out of this nightmare, but people keep getting in her away.
“Vell vhate are you vating for imbeciles grab her!,” Professor Van Oostrom yelled into the intercom looking through the glass from the next room.
One of the men grabbed a large blanket that was covering a machine and the others stood in front of her trying to get her to walk the other way.
“Stay back, I'm warning you!” Rarity horn started glowing blue. Different pieces of equipment started shorting out as they were pulled from the walls.
“Stop that you, vhat is very expensive equipment!” Professor yelled out.
One of the machines stopped glowing and fell to the floor smashing into pieces.
“Oops,” Rarity said, looked at the Professor who started jumping madly.
“Tranquilizer her!” He yelled out, pointing at her.
She saw one of the men pull out a large needle and used her magic to grab it from his hand. The needle then shot across the room like a bullet and hit the glass hard which caused the professor to jump back. The point of the needle had penetrated the glass stopping a few inches from the professor’s nose.
“You dare to attack me, I’ll show you vate I can do.” He said and reached for a phone.
“That’s enough professor!” A man said, walking into the room with three large bodyguards.
“Mr. President,” He said quickly saluting with his right hand.
“This is not how we treat our guests,” The president said and placed his hand on a scanner that unlocked the door to the lab.
“Sir, don’t go in there, ve don’t know if the alien is dangerous and could be caring some virus,” Professor said standing in front of the door.
“You're dismissed professor,” He said, pointing to the exit.
The professor lowered his head and walked out of the room. Rarity's horn glowed as she growled at the men in lab coats and heard a click as the door hissed in the lab opening inward. A dark skinned man with dark curly hair with streaks of gray. The wrinkles on his face and the dark circles under his eyes.
“Everyone out now,” He said in a commanding tone.
The men quickly filed out of the lab one at a time and then the door closed shut behind them. The man who was dressed in a tuxedo slowly walked to her. Rarity looked up and got the impression that he was a man who shouldered a great responsibility.
“I on behalf of the United States of America and Earth, I want to apologize for the way you have been treated,” The president said lowering himself so he was eye level with her.
"I certainly hope so, this is not the right way to treat a pony,” She said sitting down on the floor.
“Why don't we start over, is there something, I can do to help you,” He said with a gentle smile.
The next day that evening...
Richard was pacing back and forth in his living room. He stopped often to look through the curtains and spotted a more TV Station trucks setting up near the neighbor's house. Richard watched the news on TV as they kept replaying the video of the house glowing blue and then Rarity walking out with Mr. Taylor and Michael who quickly slipped on his large sunglasses. There were professors from different parts of the world commenting on the video. Some claimed it was an elaborate hoax, while others have books in their hand about unicorns. The only reason reporters were not knocking down his door was the result of false information and rumors that were spread out by the government agents.
"Please Mr. Labonte you are only going to attract attention to yourself if you keep peeking out the window," Michael said, watching him.
"How are they going to get her back home without anyone noticing?" Richard said sitting down on his couch.
"Just wait for it," Michael said looking at his watch.
"Wait for what?" Richard asked.
Suddenly there was some commotion as the TV reports and camera crews started quickly packed up their gear and left one at a time. Within 15 minutes the street was clear. The only remaining reminder of yesterday's events was the caution tape wrapped around the neighbor's house.
By eleven o'clock in the evening, Richard was starting to doze off when he heard a car pull up. With a yawn, he peeked outside and noticed that it was a large limousine with two police bikes in front with their lights off. Someone got out of the car and opened the rear door. A white pony hopped out and waved to someone in the car with her front hoof The door closed and she turned around and walked quickly to the house. Richard ran to the door and opened just before she had a chance to knock.
"Rarity!" Richard cried out feeling a wave of emotions which was not normal for him.
"Richard, Richard, Richard!" Rarity said, bouncing on the spot and quickly went inside the house.
As soon as the door closed Rarity reared up and wrapped her front hooves around him in a deep hug.
"I'm so sorry! This is all my fault, I broke the rules," She cried out.
Richard could feel her tears running down her face.
"I know, but, I don't care about that right now," He said leading her to the couch.
Rarity jumped up, sat down and quickly slid closer. Richard wanted to be mad, he should be mad, but that would not change a thing now. He reached around and hugged her, rubbing his fingers in her purple mane. She had the smell of light perfume and shampoo. He then noticed that it was now much shorter than he remembered.
"Rarity, what happened to your hair?" He asked, caressing the side of her face.
"It's my new look, do you like it?" She said, fluttering her eyes and brushed her now short mane back with her left hoof.
"Like a cute, little punk rocker," Richard said with a smile.
"What's that supposed to mean?" She asked puffing her cheeks, trying to look mad.
"Ahem," Michael said, clearing his throat watching with amusement.
"Sorry about that," Richard said, regaining his composure. "Rarity this is Michael Knight, he is going to be your personal bodyguard from now on," He said looking at him.
"Oh my this is a surprise," She said looking up at the tall man.
"For me also Miss Rarity, I have been reassigned to protect you and Richard for as long as required," Michael said removing his sun-glasses.
"I hope my presence here will not be a burden to you, Michael," Rarity said talking more formally now.
"Thank you for your concern, in the meantime, I will be on patrol outside until I get the all-clear for the night, here is my card if you need assistance," He said and gave the card to Richard.
Michael opened the front door and left them alone. Richard and Rarity sat quietly for a few minutes. Richard rubbed his fingers in her fur as she leaned against him.
"Rarity who was inside that limousine?" Richard asked now thinking back.
"Oh, that was the President of your country, he is such a nice man," She said with a yawn,
"The President!" Richard said, jumping out of the couch in surprise.

Hopefully, I got all the errors fixed.
Thanks for reading.
Rarity was considered a new life form by the government, so they wanted to learn everything they could about her. She didn’t like going to the doctor in Equestria but now she had to submit to these examinations, as it was one of her many conditions to keep from being locked up in a lab. Richard always came along to keep her company.
The doctor was taking measurements, weight, body mass, blood pressure, heart rate and so on. Rarity sat down on the examination table as a doctor now examined her reflexes with a small hammer. With a gentle bump of the rubber hammer to her left knee caused her right leg to kick. The doctor scratched her head and then tried the other knee, which caused her left leg front leg to twitch. Richard was sitting in a chair nearby watching with amusement.
“Nightmare Night?” He asked her.
“That’s right, it’s like your Halloween in many ways, foals dress up and go door to door asking for candy,” She explained.
“I haven’t dressed up in a costume for years, and I get enough sweets at work,” Richard said watching the doctor.
“Why don’t…” She started talking when the doctor pulled out a tongue depress.
“Please open your mouth and say aaahhhhh,” The doctor asked her.
“Aaaahhhh…” Rarity opened her mouth wide.
The doctor pushed down on her tongue looking in her mouth curiously with a small flashlight. She pulled back and then took some notes.
“Doctor are we finished now?” Rarity asked her licking her lips and adjusted her jaw.
“Why yes, we are done for the week, thank you for coming.” She said and helped Rarity off the table.
Richard opened the office door for her and Rarity walking into the hallway, her hooves clopped against the floor tiles. She looked around noticing men in white lab coats working on different projects. Some of them stopped to stare at her and other started talking to each other.
“So yeah, I don’t dress up for Halloween, I feel too old for that now,” Richard said getting her attention back.
“You're never too old to have fun Richard, in Equestria we also had a festival and dancing,” Rarity said look back at him with her blue eyes. “I hope one day, I can take you there,” She said with a gentle smile.
“Hmm,” Richard nodded, thinking about something as they walked out of the government building.
“Mr. Labonte, please reconsider,” Michael said, looking down at him with his sunglasses.
“Please call me Richard,” He said looking up at him. “She needs to get out of the house, I know it goes against the rules, but I want to take her to a Halloween costume party,” Richard said leaning against his SUV.
“How am I supposed to do my job to keep her safe in such a public place,” He said removing his sunglasses to rub the bridge of his nose.
“Why not come to the party, you are already dressed like a MIB, right Agent M,” Richard said with a grin.
“I’ll neutralize your ass if something goes wrong Richard,” Michael said, putting his sunglasses back on.
A few minutes later Richard returned home. He found Rarity sitting on the sofa looking at a magazine that was floating in front of her.
“Welcome back dear,” Rarity said, looking over the magazine.
“What are you looking at?” He said and sat down next to her.
“Halloween costumes, there are so many choices,” She said and flipped the page. “Your females sure like to show their legs and breasts,” Rarity said looking at adult selection.
“The costumes seem to get smaller every year,” He said and then showed her some of the men's choices.
“The fan-tom of the up..er,” Rarity said, trying to read the description.
“The phantom of the opera,” Richard corrected her.
“Richard, would you dress up as this mysterious phantom for me?” She asked, giggling pointing at him with a hoof and fluttered her eyelashes.
Richard felt a little warm they way she was looking at him. “Rarity would you like to go to a Halloween dance with me?” He asked her in a soft voice.
The magazine stopped glowing and fell to the floor. Rarity blinked for a moment and then a huge smile spread across her face, but then she looked concerned.
“Yes, of course, I would, bu.. but what about the rules, how can I go out?” She asked looking at him.
“You already have the best costume in town,” Richard said with a smile and picked up the magazine off the floor.
Richard wanted to buy his costume, but Rarity insisted that she make it. The basement was glowing blue as fabrics floated in the air being sewed together.
He turned on the radio and a very familiar Halloween song started playing.
I was working in the lab late one night
When my eyes beheld an eerie sight…
Rarity hummed to the song as she concentrated on her creations. Richard watched the small white unicorn dancing around as his costume took shape.
“Richard please stand right here and don’t move,” She said standing back.
“Yes, my master,” He said in a bad Igor impersonation.
“Arms out silly,” Rarity said with a smirk.
Richard held out his arms, his blue shirt unbuttoned then flew off him.
“Hey, I need that!” Richard said, feeling a chill on his bare skin.
A white pleated shirt floated onto him and then buttoned up to his amazement. With some minor alterations, it fit just right. Richard was about to check his new shirt when his pants unbuckled and his zipper dropped.
“Hey, come on now!” He said quickly grabbed his pants before they fell down.
“Someone is a little shy,” She said with a giggle and turned around.
A black pair of pants dropped in right in front of him.
“No peeking,” Richard said and quickly removed his jeans and slipped on the black pants and pulled up the zipper. “Ok, done,”
Rarity turned around and made some minor adjustments to the tuxedo pants. Then came the red cummberbund and matching tie. Richard grabbed the tuxedo jacket and slipped his arms into it.
“Looking very handsome dear, and now for the final piece,” She said and a box opened revealing a half mask.
Richard grabbed the mask and placed it on slowly covering half his face. He then slipped on a pair of white gloves and looked at Rarity.
“Now I am the phantom of the opera, mahaha!” Richard said with a exaggerate laugh.
Grinding he reached out trying to grab Rarity who jumped out of the way giggling. His fingers wiggled as he followed her around the basement.
“No Tickling Richard, I’m serious,” Rarity said, trying not to laugh.
Richard grabbed her, but she didn’t struggle back. Her eyes closed, expecting to be tickled, but Richard only caressed her. Kneeling down his fingers gently stroked her face and then over her pointed ears and along her sides. She could hear her heart thumping loudly as she stood quietly and then rubbed her face against his and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek.
“You sure know how to, make a mare feel wanted now, dear can you help me choose my costume,” She said looking back at her collection of fabrics.
Later that evening...
Richard’s SUV pulled into the parking lot near a local high school. He parked near a full-size white car. Michael walked up to SUV fully dressed in a black tux with his sunglasses on. Walking next to him was a lady wearing green makeup, pointy ears, silver, clothing and what looked like Insect antennae on her head. Richard opened the door, stepped out fully dress up as the phantom of the opera with his black cape and half mask.
“Hello, Michael nice to see you, and who is this nice lady?” Richard said with a smile.
“This is my wife Rachel,” Michael said looking serious.
“Nice to meet you, just a moment, I need to help Rarity out,” He said and opened the back door.
Richard held onto her artificial wings as she climbed out and landed on her hooves. She was dressed as a vampire pony, wearing a red cape that covered most of her body. Rarity mane was now back and her eyes glowed red, it was a simple spell to alter her appearance.
“Michael is that her?” Rachel said, holding onto his arm nervously.
“Yes, this is Rarity,” Michael said, looking at her raised his left eyebrow.
“Nice to meet you,” Rarity smiled as her eyes changed back to a normal blue.
“My name Rachel Knight,” She said releasing Michael’s arm.
“A pleasure, may I ask, what is that costume you are wearing?” Rarity asked her.
“Space Alien,” Rachel said, sounding not so sure.
“Let's head inside before we freeze out here,” Richard suggested, pointing to the entrance.
Michael followed them from behind looking out for anything unusual.
They felt a rush of warm air as they entered the building. Halloween music echoed in the halls and got louder the closer they got to the gym. There were a man and women sitting behind a table with a metal box and a two ticket rolls.
“Welcome to the dance,” The man said with a smile.
“Thank you, can I have two tickets, please,” Richard asked, opening his wallet to pay.
“So one adult and one for the… little girl,” He said noticing the vampire pony,
“Just because I don’t look my age doesn’t mean, I am a child,” Rarity said rearing up, looking like she was standing on two legs with her front legs crossed.
“My apologies miss, I have never seen a costume like that,” He said handing over two orange tickets.
“I made it myself,” She smiled, grabbing her red cap covering her face like a vampire.
Rarity walked forward into the gym stumbling. Richard quickly, grabbing a hold of her before she fell over. Michael continued watching them like a hawk as Rachel bought tickets for the both of them.
“Come on Michael you need to loosen up,” She said grabbing his arm.
“I’ll try,” He said, pushing up on his sunglasses and pulled out plastic neuralizer that had a camera flash built in.
The gym was decorated with plastic spiders and cobwebs along the walls. There was a makeshift graveyard with plastic tombstones and skeletons. Red and black lights with a fog machine for effect near a DJ booth. The DJ was dressed up as a zombie with his headphones on.
“Very impressive,” Rarity said, looking around at the decorations.
“Not bad at all,” Richard said noticing.
Back at Richard’s house…
The mirror in the spare bedroom started to glow. First one purple hoof and then other stepped out from the mirror. Twilight climbed out of the mirror first and then Spike hopped onto the wood floor. The mirror stopped glowing and the room became dark.
“This place sure is dark,” Spike said as he bumped into Twilight.
“Must be night time here as well,” She said as her horn started glowing.
“Do you think we’ll find Rarity in this world?” Spike asked and jumped onto the bed.
“I hope so, let’s look around,” Twilight said and walked out into the hallway.
Spike climbed down and followed Twilight into the hallway which lit up with a purple glow. She walked into the bathroom and reared up to look into the mirror.
“This world must be ruled by giants,” Spike said, looking up at the large toilet.
“I don’t think so, this world seems very similar to the one Sunset is in, but I don’t feel any magic here,” Twilight said and dropped down.
“World without magic, that sounds very boring,” The young dragon said.
Don't break my heart, my achy Breaky Heart…
Rarity was laughing as she and Richard was part of a costume line dance that was going in a circle. She had her front hooves on someone’s back as Richard held her shoulders. They kept on dancing even when the song sped up. Rarity was about to fall over when the song finally finished.
“Oh my goodness, I don’t think, I have ever danced that that before,” She said sounding out of breath.
“Why don’t we sit down,” Richard said, pointing to a table.
She dropped on her hooves and walked to the table. Some of the people dressed up pointed noticing her. Richard sat down and rubbed his legs. Rarity hopped in the next chair over, her rear hooves were almost off the ground but she didn’t care.
“That’s the wildest costume, I have ever seen,” A teenage girl said stopping at the table. She was dressed in a goth outfit.
“Why thank you, young lady,” Rarity grabbed her red cape with an evil smile with pointy teeth and glowing red eyes.
“Cool, can I get a selfie with you?” The goth girl asked.
“Sure, but what is a selfie?” Rarity asked.
“A picture,” She said.
The girl held out her cellphone with her arm and stood next to her as it flashed and made a clicking noise.
Twilight sniffed the air as she and Spike walked into the master bedroom.
“It smells like Rarity has been here,” She said looking around.
“Yuck, I think someone else, has been here also,” Spike said, holding onto a pair of men’s underwear and plugging his nose.
“Put it back Spike,” Twilight told the young dragon.
“Sorry,” He apologized and dropped it.
“Let’s keep looking,” She said and walked out of the room.
After a few minutes, she found stairs leading to the basement. Twilight recognized the switch on the wall from her time with Sunset. She flicked it on with her right front hoof. Lights turned on revealing a large area filled with colorful fabrics and sewing machines.
“Now I am sure Rarity has been living here,” Twilight said looking at all clothing.
“TWILIGHT THERE’S MONSTERS OUTSIDE!” Spike yelled from upstairs.
Twilight ran upstairs and found Spike looking out of a window his tail was twitching. She climbed up next to him and pressed her nose against the glass window. Outside, she could see children dressed up in different costumes holding bags, walking door to door.
"Spike, this looks very similar to Nightmare Night," She said with a sigh of relief.
"How can you be sure, maybe this is a world of monsters," He said looking worried.
"A vampire fruit bat pony?" Asked a young man, who was dressed as a mummy.
"That's right, you better watch your fruits or I will suck them dry," Rarity answered.
"Weird," He said and walked away joining his friends on the other side of the gym.
"Why do they keep saying that, Richard?" Rarity asked him.
"Vampires are undead people that drink blood, they usually bite you on the neck," Richard said explaining.
"That's horrible, maybe I should change my costume," She said starting to climb out of her chair.
A romantic song started playing and couples walked out onto the dance floor holding hands. It was like a masquerade, but with monster costumes. Richard looked at the dance floor and then at Rarity who looked back. No words were needed since they both decided to dance together. He found a spot to stand and Rarity reared up, allowing him to hold her close. It was a bit of a balancing act for her to dance like this, but Richard was helping her. He looked into her large blue eyes that looked back with tenderness. Richard was feeling something that he never thought would happen again.
Rarity wrapped her front hooves around his neck. They danced slowly together for the song. The world around them seemed to fade away as they looked at each other. Rarity's heart started thumping hard again in her ears. Richard's leaned down so her muzzle was on his shoulder. Just as she wanted to say it, he whispered it in her ear.
"I love you Rarity," Richard said in a soft voice,

Happy Halloween.
“Richard, I…” Rarity started to say when she was interrupted by Michael who walked up to them.
“Sorry, but we need to go now,” Michael said looking at a flashing red light on his watch.
“You picked the worst time,” Richard said as he and Rarity followed him off the dance floor.
“Michael, what is going on?” Rachel said joining them.
“The silent alarm at your house has been triggered,” He explained, looking at Richard and Rarity.
“You're tapping into my alarm as well,” Richard said, sounding angry, “Why didn’t I get an alert?” He asked and then felt his cellphone vibrate and pulled out it to look, “Shit,” He said.
“Can somepony, explain to me what you two talking about?” Rarity asked looking frustrated.
“Someone is in our house,” Richard said.
Rarity gasped in surprise, they quickly left the party to head back to the house.
A few minutes later they arrived at the house. Richard drove into his driveway and parked. Michael’s white car quickly drove up and stopped next to Richard’s SUV. The car doors opened and both men stepped out.
“Stay in the car Richard I will check it out,” Michael said and pulled out his handgun and unlocked the safety.
“Michael, put the gun away, I don’t want you to shoot the cat or anyone else,” Richard said quickly walking in front of him.
“Fine have it your way,” He said, frustrated and put the gun back into its concealed holster.
“I hope this is a false alarm,” Richard said and walked to the front door and unlocked it.
“Twilight someone is coming and don't think it is a pony,” Spike said running into the hallway.
“Quick back to the mirror,” Twilight said leading Spike into the spare bedroom.
“What about Rarity?” Spike stopped by the bed looking back.
“Don’t worry, we will come back soon,” Twilight said.
She gently pushed him into the mirror which shimmered like water. Taking one last look, she then also went into the mirror.
Michael entered the house first pushing Richard back. He pulled out a small but powerful flashlight started to look around. Richard walked in after him and looked. He turned on the lights as they checked each room.
Rarity sat quietly in the SUV watching the windows as the lights were turned on. But she kept thinking about the dance and what Richard said. Rachel climbed into the driver’s seat of the SUV, she noticed that Rarity was fidgeting.
“Hey now, it will be fine,” Rachel said, putting her hand on Rarity’s shoulder.
“You're so kind Rachel, I know we just meet, but, can we be friends?” The pony asked looking at her.
“Of course,” She said with a smile.
There was silence for a few minutes and then Rachel looked at her again.
“Richard confessed that he loves me,” Rarity said out loud as her cheeks turned red and then she covered her face.
“That’s wonderful Rarity, and how do you feel about him?” She said.
Later, Michael and Richard finished searching the house but found nothing.
“It must have been the cat,” Richard said as he opened the front door of the house.
“Maybe,” Michael said following him outside.
They spotted Rachel and Rarity laughing about something in the SUV. The passenger door opened and Rarity hopped out and walked to the front of the vehicle. Rachel climbed out and stood next to Michael.
“False alarm, do you want to head back to the party?” Richard asked Rarity.
“I think I’ve had enough party for tonight, dear,” Rarity smiled.
She brushed her right side against him walking to the front door and looked back at Rachel who nodded with a smile.
“It was so nice to meet you, I hope we can hang out again soon,” She said.
“You to Rarity, have a good night,” Rachel said and opened the door on the car.
Later that evening...
Removing his shoes he sat down on the couch still in costume minus the mask. Rarity went to the bathroom to freshen up and then she walked back into the living room. She was also still dressed up in her cap, fangs, but removed the cumbersome wings. Richard smiled at the sight of a white unicorn, red eyes, black lipstick, black mane, wearing a red cape.
“Looking good there My Little Dracula,” He said teasing.
“And why is my Phantom not wearing his mask?” She said teasing back showing her plastic fangs.
Richard leaned forward and grabbed the mask off the coffee table and put it on. He stood up wiggling his fingers walking towards her.
“Mahaha!,” Richard said.
“My turn, this vampire is hungry,” Rarity said and started chasing after Richard.
She giggled as she trotted around the house, careful not to knock things over.
“Richard I used to be a very proper and elegant pony until I met you,” Rarity talked out loud looking for him.
“You still are,” Richard said, hiding in the bedroom.
“I'm not so sure because, the old me would not be playing hide and seek,” She looked in the bedroom but didn’t see him.
Her horn glowed as she opened the closet and stuck her head in between the clothes. Richard slowly climbed out from under the bed and poked her on the rear. Rarity jumped, causing clothing to fall onto her.
“Richard!” She yelled out from under the pile of clothes.
“The Phantom my dear,” Richard reached in with his hands pulled her out.
“Hisss,” Rarity eyes glowed red and she pounced on top of him.
“Oh help the vampire’s got me now!” He said in a high voice.
She giggled, feeling like a young mare and smiled as her eyes changed back to blue. Richard looked up into her big blue eyes as he lay on his back and reached up to, caress her face.
“Do you really love this pony that turned your life upside down?” Rarity asked fluttering her dark eyelashes.
“Yes of course, before I meet you, it felt like my life was going nowhere, I get up, eat, work, sleep and repeat.” He said and rubbed his thumb over her bottom lip. “Since you have come into my life, it’s all different now,” Richard said with a smile.
“Richard, I’m not human,” Rarity asked, sitting on his hips, her red cap covered most of her body.
“I don’t care, I mean I do care, but, aargh,” He said pulling on his blond hair.
“I need to tell you something Richard, in Equestria, there is this young dragon who has crush on me,” She said looking at him.
“Is he someone special to you,” Richard said as his smile faded.
“Yes, but he is still very young, I was thinking maybe when he gets older,” Her ears dropped noticing his reaction.
“Don’t dragons get very big when they grow up?” He asked.
“Well, there was this one time he grew as large as a house,” Rarity explained which only made him more concerned.
“Fine, I get it,” Richard said gently lifted Rarity off him.
He removed the mask and started to clean up the pile of clothing on the closet floor.
“Richard please, I am sorry,” She said.
“It’s ok Rarity, I can’t compete with a dragon anyway,” He said quickly cleaning.
"No, no, come on Richard," Rarity reared up and held him in a hug.
Richard grumbled a little and then rubbed his fingers along her pointy ears and then down her mane. She started to nibble on his neck, teasing him with her plastic fangs.
"So the Vampire is still hungry for the Phantom," He smirked.
"Actually, I prefer Richard," Rarity large nose touched his, her blue eyes looked straight into his eyes.
She moved her mouth closer to his and he paused for a moment not sure. Rarity looked hurt and was about to turn away when he grabbed her sides, moving closer that their lips touched.
"HANG ON RARITY I'LL SAVE YOU!" Spike yelled as he ran into the room and jumped in the air.
Richard heard the voice and saw what looked like a purple lizard the size of a child jump up and kicked him off of Rarity. He was knocked off his feet and hit his head against the dresser.
"Ouch," He yelled out also feeling pain on his side where he was kicked.
"Spike!" Rarity yelled out in surprise and anger. Her plastic fangs were still visible and she was still dressed in a red cape.
"Twilight, we are too late, she has become one of them!" Spike made a cross with his claws.
"What are you talking about?" Twilight said, walking into the bedroom and gasped.
"Twilight, Spike you're really here!" Rarity squealed out.
Richard rubbed his eyes now noticing that there was a purple pony, with a horn and wings. Standing next to her was a light purple lizard with green eyes.
Author's Note
A bit of silliness and romance in this one.
Thanks for reading this chapter.
Richard held a bag of frozen peas to the side of his head as he laid down on the couch in the living room. Rarity already removed her costume and fake teeth. She and Twilight were in the kitchen talking about everything that has happened since she has been gone. Spike glanced over at Richard and grumbled before turning his attention back to Rarity.
“So my sister moved back with mom and dad,” Rarity said, her horn glowed as she served cups with apple juice.
“Yes and Fluttershy has been looking after your house,” Twilight said and her horn glowed as she lifted her cup to drink from it.
A cup floated in front of Spike, who tried to grab it only to see it float into living room landing next to Richard. Just as Spike was about to complain another cup landed in his claws.
“I am sorry for all the inconvenience,” Rarity apologized.
“No, it’s my fault, I should have been more careful with my magic,” Twilight said shaking her head.
“Now that the mirror is working we can go home right now,” Spike said getting ready to stand.
“Spike, please give her some time,” Twilight said scolding him.
“What if, I don’t want her to go?” Richard asked, walking into the kitchen and put the bag of peas back into the freezer.
“Richard,” Rarity said and looked down at the table.
“I thank you for looking after my dear friend all this time, But Equestria is her home and she has a duty as one of the elements of harmony,” Twilight said look up at him.
“Her home is also here with me and why can’t you find someone else to take her place?” He said standing near Rarity.
“She is not yours!” Spike yelled out, standing up as he started to grow larger.
“Spike!” Twilight yelled out and stood back as the table got pushed.
The dragon right claws grabbed Richard by his shirt and lifted him off the floor. Spike's head was now pushing against the ceiling and his body was looking more reptilian.
“Spike, please put him down,” Rarity said, holding onto the dragon’s right leg to get his attention.
“Alright,” Spike said in a deeper voice and let go of him as he shrunk back to normal size.
“I want you to apologize to Richard!” She said, standing on her hind legs with her front legs crossed.
“Sorry,” The young dragon apologized and walked out of the kitchen still angry.
Rarity walked up to Richard, who looked like he was in shock and hugged him.
“So that’s a dragon,” He said in a shaky voice.
“Richard, my home is in Equestria, we talked about this before,” Rarity said trying to not to cry.
“But this is also your home,” Richard said, holding her close.
“Twilight?” Rarity asked, looking at her sniffing.
“Rarity, the portal will only stay open for another hour,” Twilight said, looking at them both feeling terrible.
Spike was in the living room clutching his chest feeling conflicted. He was so jealous, but also didn’t want to see Rarity crying.
"There are a few things I need to finish," Rarity said and cleared her throat.
"I can cancel the orders, you don't have to worry about this," Richard said watching her.
"Nonsense, I'll be done in no time," She said and headed to the basement.
Rarity went downstairs and looked over her projects. Most of the orders were ready to go, but there was still some last minute jobs that needed to be finished. She rubbed her wet nose and concentrated. Clothing started floating to be sewn and stitched together.
“There she goes again,” Richard said with a sigh.
“Rarity always finishes her jobs on time, even if it means staying up all night,” Twilight said standing next to him.
Within half an hour she folded the last piece of clothing. She walked up to them breathing heavily, feeling magically exhausted and leaned against Richard.
“Finished, now you can mail them tomorrow,” Rarity said, looking up at him.
"You didn't have to," Richard said.
He reached down and rubbed his fingers along the side of her muzzle and around her ears. She made a soft mmm noise, feeling his gentle touch. Twilight grinned at her, which caused Rarity to blush in embarrassment.
“Can you rub me also? I want to know what it feels like,” Twilight asked him.
He reached over and rubbed along Twilight’s muzzle and around her ears. She seemed to like that and closed her eyes enjoying. Spike sneaked over standing next to Rarity and started rubbing his claws in her fur. She noticed the difference and looked over at him.
“I thought if everyone was doing it,” Spike said.
Rarity started laughing and then Twilight. Richard only smiled and rubbed his hands over both Rarity and Twilight’s head.
“Come on, Spike, let's get go,” Twilight said, nudging him with her nose.
“Alight, alright, I’m going,” Spike protested and hugged Rarity quickly before hopping into the mirror.
“Thank you again for looking after Rarity, If you ever get stuck in Equestria, I will make sure you have a place to stay, see you on the other side Rarity,” Twilight waved and then jumped into the mirror disappearing in a flash.
Rarity lower lip quivered as she tried not to cry. Richard bent down on one knee so he was eye level with her, his right thumb rubbed along her lips and then rubbing along the side of her muzzle. She reached up with her right hoof and rubbed his cheek with her leg.
“I wish, I could hold you the same way,” Rarity said and rubbed her muzzle against his face.
“That doesn’t matter to me,” Richard grabbed her hoof in his hand,
“I will always remember you,” She said and kissed his cheek.
“Please don’t say goodbye,” He said as his voice cracked.
“Then perhaps, until we meet again,” The white unicorn's forehead was leaning against his.
“I love you,” Richard said, feeling his tears on his cheeks.
Rarity couldn’t hold back anymore and pushed her lips against his, they held each other close as they kissed. A few minutes later, Twilight’s head popped out of the mirror to check on Rarity and gasped covering her mouth, before going back into the mirror.
She slowly walked away from Richard still feeling his kiss on her lips and stopped at the mirror to look one more time at Richard.
“Richard, I love you too,” She said and hopped into the mirror disappearing.
And just as fast as she came into his life, she was now gone...

Chapter 13
“Just one more week and it will be Hearth's Warming Eve and then Hearth's Warming Day!!” Pinkie Pie yelled out in excitement as she bounced along.
“You wouldn't know it around these parts, it still feels like summer here,” Applejack said, removing her hat and used it to fan herself.
Twilight horn glowed as a large machete whipped back and forth chopping long green vines and thorn bushes blocking the road.
“I asked the weather control and they said that winter was canceled by the princess,” Rainbow Dash said flying slowly above them.
“That’s terrible, why would somepony do that?” Fluttershy said, ducking under a large branch.
Rarity followed them from the rear, but didn’t comment, her mind was elsewhere.
“Her name is Peaches Melody,” Twilight said, still busy cutting foliage. “Princess Celestia wants us to check up on her since she has not been answering her letters,” She said looking back at her friends.
“Does she live in the middle of a forest?” Applejack asked climbing over branches.
“I heard that the village is very similar to Ponyville,” Twilight answered and wiped some sweat off of her forehead.
Pinkie noticed that vines Twilight cut were starting to grow back rapidly. Suddenly Fluttershy felt a vine wrapping around her left rear leg.
“Help, something’s got me!” Fluttershy yelled, trying to walk forward, but her rear leg was tied up.
“Fluttershy!” Twilight yelled, looking back.
The purple glowing machete flew to Fluttershy and landed with a chop cutting the vine wrapped around the leg freeing her.
“Thank you,” She said and started flapping her wings deciding that staying off the ground might be safer.
“Twilight you might want to check up on Rarity,” Rainbow said with a smirk pointing.
They gasped noticing that Rarity was completely covered in vines. She looked like a garden sculpture in the shape of a pony.
“Hang on I’ll get you out of there,” Twilight said quickly running to her.
“Muff…” Rarity tried to speak, but she was muzzled by the vines.
“Richard, I know you're in there, please answer the door!” Matthew said pounding on the front door.
The door opened and Richard squinted in the daylight. He was unshaven, his hair was a mess and he was still dressed in his PJ’s.
“Matthew,” Richard said, sounding tired.
“I heard what happened from Michael,” He said and walked inside.
“For a secret service agent, he is sure lousy at keeping secrets,” Richard grumbled and sat back down in a recliner.
Matthew noticed a bottle of booze that was open and empty glass on the coffee table.
“This is just like the time when Ann left you,” Matthew said and removed his boots.
“Ann was a bitch who was having an affair behind my back,” Richard said pointing at him.
“Alright then this is not the same,” He said and sat down on the couch.
“Matthew, she was not human, but still I feel in love, what the hell is wrong with me!” Richard yelled out.
“She’s not an animal Richard, but this is still a big stretch for me, trying to look past the hooves and tail,” He said rolling his eyes.
“So it’s fine that I hugged and kissed her?” Richard asked.
"A magic talking unicorn from another world, who am I to judge what is right in this situation," Matthew said looking at him.
“Well she’s gone now and I’m back to being a bachelor,” Richard grabbed the bottle raising it in the air.
“What would have you done if she stayed?” Matthew asked him.
“Well I think, I would have have dated her some more and then asked her to marry me,” Richard answer and then drank directly from the bottle.
“Are you serious or is that the booze talking? Matthew said standing up.
“Both,” He said with a burp.
There was not much left of the original stone and wood walls. The castle was covered full of thorny vines and large bushes inside and out.
“Peaches you have to stop this!” Rarity yelled out at the peach colored alicorn.
“Leave me alone!” She yelled back as the vines starting wrapping around her like a cocoon.
Timberwolves and pony eating flowers snapped at them keeping the elements of harmony away.
“Her magic is reacting to her feelings, we have to save her,” Twilight yelled out.
“I thought you understood how I felt,” Peaches said looking down at Rarity as the vines lifted her off the ground.
“I do understand what it is to love and then to lose it,” Rarity voice spoke.
“You had a choice, I didn’t,” Peaches said as more of her body seemed to be enveloped in the vines. “Once I was the happiest pony in Equisetum, then on my wedding day my beloved left me at the altar from another mare. She was my best friend! How could she do that to me?” She screamed out.
Suddenly there was a rainbow streak that zipped past cutting the vine away from Rarity. She fell to the floor but was caught by Fluttershy just in time. Vines closed up completely and Peach disappeared inside the plant. The timberwolves were grabbed by the vines and their bodies joined the mass of roots that was spouting out from the green cocoon.
“I tried talking to her but she doesn’t want to listen,” Rarity said stepping back.
“Time to knock some sense into this pony,” Applejack said pounding her front hooves together.
“Leave it to me! I am mean green weeding machine!” Rainbow called out and grabbed the machete off the ground and flew into the air at high speeds.
“Go Rainbow, show that plant, whose boss!” They cheered out.
Rainbow streaks zipped by at high speed cutting away at the vines. Vines, branches, and flowers starting falling down into the floor as they were chopped away by her. Within a minute the castle walls starting to look more normal. A bundle of vines wrapped up in the shape of a pony fell to the ground landing softly into the pile of plants with a thump.
Rarity sighed, walked up, her horn glowed and a pair of scissors was removed from her pouch. The scissors started cutting away at the bundle of vines until Peach was freed. The Alicorn laid unconscious breathing, her muzzle was wet from her tears.
“I’ll send a letter to Princess Celestia,” Twilight said and looked at her friends. “Hopefully she can get the help she needs, good job everyone.” She said and touched Rarity on the shoulder.
“What about the residents?” Fluttershy asked.
The mane 6 walked outside to look at the town that was covered in vines and plants.
“Ah don’t think anyone lives here anymore,” Applejack said looking around.
“OH NO, not the bakery!” Pinkie said and ran to a damaged building that had muffins and cakes sign on it.
Not long after a small team of flying royal guards showed up. Twilight finished briefing them and then joined the others.
“Well that’s it, let's head back home,” She said with a smile.
After a few minutes into the walk, Twilight slowed down so she could walk with Rarity who again was trailing behind. She looked at her friend who looked back with a sad smile.
“How are things with you?” Twilight ask her.
“I wish I could say good, but when Peach’s vines grabbed me, I could feel her pain and she could feel mine, for a moment we understood each other,” Rarity said walking with her.
“Once we get back to Ponyville let’s go someplace special,” She smiled.
“Alright,” Rarity said trying to smile back.
That evening in the entertainment district...
“Ho ho ho, merry Christmas big boy!” A woman said dressed in a sexy Santa suit, she was passing out discount coupons.
Richard stopped when he realized where his brother was taking him. It was a local gentleman's club, there was pictures of women on the walls with big red lips and very little clothing.
“Matthew, I’m not going in there!” He protested.
“Oh yes you are, you need to loosen up and get your mind out of the gutter,” Matthew said and hooked his arm with his.
Matthew pulled Richard into the club, the smell of beer, liquor, and fried food was strong. Lighting in the large hall was dim with light strings and Christmas lights. There was a bar on the side and round tables laid out on the floor. Three raised runways leading to dancing poles. The music was thumping and loud, TVs on the walls showed, sports, playboy tv and other erotic programs. Richard tried to keep his eyes off the TV’s and sat down at a table his brother.
“Can we go someplace else?” Richard said but his brother seemed to ignore him or didn’t hear over the loud music.
“Oh my stars would you look at that handsome stallion go,” Applejack squealed out at sitting at a large table with the others.
A large white stallion with brown spots in his fur danced around the pole. He was wearing a large cowboy hat and what looked like spurs on his hooves.
“Twilight, I thought we were going shopping,” Rarity said covering her eyes.
“Sorry Rarity, we can go tomorrow,” Twilight said looking at her and then back to the stage.
“Do you think he’s is available?” Rainbow asked checking her mane.
“I don’t think so, see that ring in his left ear,” Fluttershy said sounding more relaxed the usual.
“Aww,” Rainbow said laying her head down between her front hooves.
“Why settle just for one flavor when they are so many choices,” Pinkie was looking at a mare dancing on the other stage.
They looked at Pinkie for a moment surprised and then turned back.
“She does have a point,” Twilight said drinking from a large glass of apple flavored beverage.
“I want to go home,” Rarity moped looking at her drink.
“Loosen up Richard,” Matthew said drinking beer from a large mug.
“Just wake me when it is over,” Richard said and leaned back closing his eyes.
A lady dressed in a Santa suit that was made with silky material walked up to the table.
“Hi there, My name is Misty,” She said leaning forward showing her skin.
“Matthew and this is my brother Richard,” He said looking at Richard who was trying to ignore him.
“Is there something, I can do to help you relax?” Misty offered a card listing her services and the amounts.
“Well Richard has been going thru a rough patch, can you help me cheer him up,” Matthew pointed to a listing on the card and pulled out his wallet.
Richard felt the lady climb over him and tried to sit in his lap. He opened his eyes and stood up, gently pushing the lady back.
“I’m going home,” Richard said and turned towards the exit.
“What’s his problem?” Misty asked with her arms crossed.
“Something that I can’t help him with,” Matthew sighed.
Their hooves gently stepped in the snow as Twilight walked Rarity back to her house.
“I’m sorry Rarity,” Twilight said standing by Rarity house.
“It's quite all right, I know you were trying to cheer me,” Rarity said opening the front door.
“If you want to talk about this I’ll be home,” Twilight said and hugged Rarity.
Rarity waved and closed the door, she leaned against it and looking around her house. Sweetie Belle was already sleeping in her bed, though she was only staying over for the weekend. Rarity quietly went to her room and closed the door. She climbed into her bed and pulled up the sheets with her magic. Minutes went by and Rarity tossed and turned in her bed. Closing her eyes she tried to remember what Richard smelled like and hugged a pillow.
Richard sat down in the spare bedroom staring at the mirror.
He stood up and touched the mirror, feeling the cold smooth surface. Richard walked back until his legs touched the side of the bed and laid down closing his eyes.
During the night Richard had the strangest dream, it felt like he was floating weightless in the air. His eyes stayed closed, feeling like he was paralyzed, but aware of this strange lucid dream. Then he felt himself back in bed, shortly after he drifted off into a deep sleep for the rest of the night.
"Welcome to Equestria," Twilight said in a quiet voice.
Something has gone wrong. We don't seem to have an archived copy of that chapter. Rainbow spotted Rarity running down the trail heading to the apple farm.
“Looks like the jig is up, or is it?” Rainbow said, looking down from a cloud and rubbed her chin thinking.
She stood up with a smirk and flapped her wings taking off in a rainbow streak. Quickly she started pushing clumps of clouds together, the more clouds she was able put together the darker they became. Snow started to fall and then quickly intensified into a blizzard. Rarity noticed the snow falling and slowed down as the winds started to intensify.
“What is going on?” She squinted her eyes, trying to move forward as the snow started to accumulate.
Rainbow looked down once more and then zipped away, heading to the farm at high speed.
“It’s snowing!” Sweetie Belle squealed with delight dancing.
“Let’s make snow ponies.” Apple Bloom suggested.
They both ran into the field as the snow started to come down hard.
"Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!" Richard sang out in a deep voice as he pushed the curtain aside to look outside.
“Snow that’s strange,” Applejack said, pushing her nose against the glass next to him.
“It’s perfectly normal from where I come from,” Richard said moving back.
“Around these parts weather works on a schedule,” She walked to a calendar written in equestrian.
Richard couldn’t read the words, but he did recognize the icons indicating snow, rain, wind, cloudy and sunny.
“Just as ah suspected, snow is not until tomorrow,” Applejack pointed at a box with her right front hoof.
Suddenly there was a knock at the front door, Big Mac walked opened it and looked down to see Rainbow who sounded out of breath.
“Is Applejack home?” She asked him.
“Eeyup,” He said in a deep voice and moved aside.
“Hey there Rainbow, do ya happen to know why it’s snowing?” Applejack asked her.
“I spotted Rarity heading this way, so I kind of slowed her down,” Rainbow answer her and looked inside. “Richard you can stay at my place," She said in a loud voice.
“Moving again,” Richard grumbled and slipped on his coat. “This better be the last time,” He said, heading to the door.
Richard waved to Applejack and heading out following Rainbow into the snow.
Not longer after that, the clouds started to separate and dissipate, then the sun started to poke through revealing a winter wonderland. There were two round lumps of snow that kind of looked like a snow pony. Two blue eyes opened up looking and then Rarity shook the snow off her fur. Her purple mane and tail had flakes of snow and ice stuck, she stood up to brush them.
“I’m s, su, sure, Rai, Rainbow had something to do with this,” She shivered looking up trying to spot her friend.
Richard tried to keep up with the flying pony, but the snow and mud were slowing him down.
“Come on, slowpoke,” Rainbow teased flying ahead of him.
“Hey, I only got two legs and no wings,” Richard said breathing hard.
“Exactly, now how am I going to get you to my house?” She said flying upside down rubbing her chin.
“Where is your home?” He asked her.
“Good question,” She said and rubbed her chin some more. “Now where did I put it?,” She asked herself.
Richard rubbed his hands together to warm them and watch Rainbow zipping around until she spotted it.
“It’s up there,” Rainbow pointed with her right front hoof.
“That’s a cloud,” Richard said, stating the obvious as he looked up.
“No, it’s my Cloud House,” She correct him.
“Your house is in a cloud?” He answered, still not convinced.
“More like on it,” Rainbow said, looking at him.
“Unless you got a very tall ladder or a hot balloon there is no way I can get up there,” Richard said crossing his arms.
“I don’t but, Cherry Berry does,” She grinned.
“Your joking right?” Richard said, raising his left eyebrow.
There was a knock at the door again and this time Applejack open it. Rarity looked cold, shivering and with a serious look on her face.
“Rarity! Oh mah what happened to ya?” Applejack asked, but already had an idea.
“Ss, snow, so much,” Rarity was having a hard time speaking.
“Quickly, get in here and warm up,” Applejack insisted. “Granny can ya make some hot tea and Big Mac stoke the fire,” She said in a loud voice as Rarity walked in.
A few minutes later the fireplace was crackling giving off lots of heat. Rarity was sitting down near the fire, sipping on some hot tea that floated in front of her. Her fur was quickly drying, giving off some steam as the moisture evaporated.
“How yer feeling now?” Applejack asked her.
“Much better, thank you,” She said looking around the living room.
Applejack sat quietly sipping on a cup of tea trying to think of something to talk about.
“So did ya get to decorate...” She started asking but was interrupted.
“Where is Richard?” Rarity asked and sipped more of her tea.
“Umm as ya can see there is no one here by the name Richard,” Applejack started sweating.
“Applejack was Richard here?” She asked her.
“Ah can’t say,” Applejack’s cutie mark started glowing as she tried to fight it.
Rarity knew that Applejack’s element was honesty and that she could not lie.
“Yer talking about that strange looking pony, aren’t ya?” Granny Smith spoke up from her rocking chair.
“Granny!” Applejack said falling back.
“Applejack,” Rarity stood up and looked down at her.
“Twilight wanted to surprise ya for Hearth's Warming and ah was helping,” She covered her face feeling ashamed.
Rarity’s seriousness faded to a smile and she helped her friend up and hugged.
“So yer not mad?” Applejack said checking just to be sure.
“No, I understand,” She said with a smile and then asked, ”So now, are you going to tell me where he is?”
“Pull this to go up and this one to go down,” Cherry Berry pointed to two levers attached to a box on the side of the basket.
“How does this work without gas?” Richard said, scratching his head.
“Magic,” She said and untied the basket. “Please Rainbow, make sure you bring it back,” Cherry Berry said looking serious.
“I know, I know,” She saluted her. “Come on, let's get going Richard,” Rainbow said, sounding impatiently on the ground.
“Fine,” He sighed and reached for the up lever.
“Richard!” Rarity’s voice yelled out from a distance.
“Rarity?” Richard turned around and saw a small white unicorn with big blue eyes and a purple mane running towards him.
“Aww there goes the surprise,” Rainbow said, shaking her head in a facepalm.
Rarity ran into town heading to the balloon, just as she got close she jumped in the air and landed in the basket. Richard stumbled back, bumping a lever, the purple balloon rose up, lifting the pink basket off the ground.
“You're here!, You're really here, Oh, I missed you so much!” She said breathing hard and stood up holding him in a hug rubbing her face against his.
“Is it Hearth's Warming day already?” He said, caressing her muzzle.
Richard could feel her warm tears and reached around stroking his fingers in her purple mane, before reaching around to hold her close.
“I just couldn’t wait to open my present,” Rarity said, fluttering her eyes and puckered her lips.
He bent down and opened his mouth and kissed her passionately.
“Get a room you two,” Rainbow said covering her eyes as she flapped her wings near the basket.
Rarity and Richard pulled away to breath then looked at Rainbow with a frown.
“Don’t mind me, I was just going,” She said and flew away.
Richard looked down at Ponyville as the snow covered buildings got smaller the higher they went.
“Nice view from up here,” Richard commented.
“So Richard just how did you get here?” Rarity asked him, resting her head against his chest.
“I don’t understand all the details, but a week after you left Twilight was able to open a portal again and grabbed me in the middle of the night,” He said which made Rarity look up at him.
“A week?, no, no, it’s been about two months since I left,” She tried to explain.
“Wow, so time does move faster here than in my world,” Richard looked at his watch.
The sun started to set over Equestria creating a golden, red and yellow glow in the sky.
“Richard do you want to come to my house?” Rarity asked him.
“Fine,” Richard said with a grin and pushed down the lever.
“The first thing I need you do is get out of those clothes,” She said poking at his jacket.
“What!?” He said, feeling his cheeks turning red and it was not the cold this time.
“My man should be wearing something more dapper looking,” Rarity said with a smile sounding more like herself.
“Aah.. ohh is that all?” Richard said, sounding relieved.
“Were you expecting something else hmm?” She said trying to look clueless, but a smirk crept along her face.
The basket landed with a thump not far from the where it launched.

Another chapter done,
Once I am finished with the story I may combine a few chapters to streamline it.
Richard and Rarity found Twilight talking to Applejack, who was apologizing. The purple alicorn facepalmed herself on another failed plan. Then she saw Rarity walking to her so she stepped back expecting to be scolded, but instead, she got a big hug from her friend.
“Thank you for bringing Richard here Twilight,” Rarity said, releasing her from the hug.
“Aww your welcome Rarity,” Twilight said with a smile, feeling relieved that it worked out so well. "You're just in time for the annual lighting of the evergreen tree. Also, I think this would be the perfect time for everyone to get to know you, Richard," She said looking at him.
"Ok," Richard said not sure about this.
They walked into the center of town where the ponies were starting to gather. Some of the ponies mumbled to each other seeing a human for the first time standing next to Rarity. Twilight walked onto a small platform in the middle to greet the crowd.
“Citizens of Ponyville, before we light the Hearth's Warming tree, I would first like to introduce to Richard, he is a human from another world,” Twilight said pointing to him.
Richard waved at the crowd and some waved back and other gasped noticing his fingers.
“Also, he is a dear friend of Rarity and I would appreciate that everypony treats him well,” She said and motioned Richard to come forward.
“Hi there,” Richard said, feeling a bit uncomfortable.
“What’s a human?” One of the ponies asked and the others looked also curious.
“Good question um, let's see, ok, alright, some say we evolved from monkeys and some say were created by aliens or god." Richard tried to explain but they didn't seem to understand. "Anyways humans walk on two legs and we come in different sizes and colors.” He said not sounding so sure.
“So like blue, green, pink and purple?” Pinkie asked to speak up.
Richard faced palmed knowing that this was going to take a while.
“No, more like different shades, between light and dark,” He answered.
Later on…
Richard stepped away and joined Rarity who leaned against him.
“I think you handled that very well, dear,” Rarity smiled looking at Richard.
“I’m just glad it’s over, my throat is sore,” Richard said rubbing his neck.
“Alright everypony this is the moment you have been waiting for,” Twilight said, walking up to the tall evergreen tree. ”Let's light up the tree on the count of three!” She said in a loud voice.
Every pony started counting together.
“ONE,”
“TWO,”
“THREE!”
Twilight's horn glowed bright purple and then shot a blast of magic that enveloped the tree. Lights of different colors on the tree lit up bright and started to twinkle.
“Kiss me,” Rarity said and reared up so with her lips puckered.
"Now, ok," Richard said and lowered himself to kiss her.
Some of the ponies whistled and others turned away not sure what to think about this new human sucking lips with one of the elements of harmony. He found out that it is a tradition to make a wish when the tree is lit for the first time. Twilight, Applejack, Fluttershy and Rainbow cheered happily for their dear friend. Spike left as soon as he saw and headed back to the castle. After some hugs and a quick talk, Rarity left her friends and headed home with Richard.
“You live here?” Richard said, sounding surprised looking at the unusual building.
“Welcome to my house dear,” Rarity said with a big smile.
He looked at the roundhouse that looked like multi-colored tower taken from part of a castle. Pink, white, checkered patterns in the middle and on top portions, yellow window awnings, with blue and white patterns. The was a large yellow pony sign with a pink outfit which indicated tailor for ponies. There was so much more to see, but he would have to look later. Rarity opened the purple door with diamonds and went in. Richard ducked down to get inside, but thankfully the ceiling was high enough that he didn’t hit his head.
“Very open concept,” He said looking around.
Living room, tailor shop, bedroom, was spread out along the curved walls, all except for the kitchen which had a wall to separate it from the rest. Richard removed his boots and took off his jacket, he was wearing the same clothes he had on the night he was pulled into this world.
“Yes, isn’t it wonderful, now here are the mannequins, fabrics, sewing machine, over there is the kitchen with dining room,” She explained showing him around.
He found the red bed nearby and sat down on the side to rest his sore feet. It seemed that ponies in this world didn't need for chairs and Richard was standing all day.
“I see you found the bed,” Rarity smiled and walked up to him.
“Sorry, my feet are killing me,” Richard said with a sigh of relief wiggling his toes.
She sat on the floor next to him leaning against his leg. Richard reached over with his right hand and caressed Rarity rubbing his fingers along her muzzle. He lifted his legs onto the bed and sat against the headboard relaxing. Rarity quickly went to the other side, climbed up and then laid down on her belly, resting her head on his lap.
“Mmms, I missed this a lot,” Rarity said feeling his hands.
Richard smiled as he rubbed his fingers behind her pointy ears which she wiggled. He worked his down her shoulders and through her silky purple mane. Rarity smiled, looking up at Richard she then pushed herself up and sat on his lap so she could face him directly.
“You know, we have never done this before,” Richard said in a soft deep voice.
“First time for everything dear,” She said as she fluttered her eyelashes.
They started kissing slowly and Richard's hands reached down to caress her rear, his fingers touched her tail.
“Rarity, I’m back,” Sweetie Belle voice called out in a high voice as she opened the door.
She walked in with a big smile and looked around and saw Rarity on top of a Richard locking lips.
“Eeek!” Sweetie Belle screamed out and covered her eyes.
Rarity gasped, pulling away and grabbed the sheets to cover herself even though there was nothing to hide. Richard looked over and saw the small white unicorn with a light pink mane with a purple stripe.
“Sweetie Belle you're home early,” Rarity said, climbing out of the bed leaving Richard behind.
“This the time, I normally come home,” Sweetie Belle said, rubbing her eyes and then looked again.
“Awww I’m sorry, I lost track of time,” Rarity said quickly brushing her mane.
“… who is that?” Sweetie said, pointing at Richard as he climbed out of the bed.
“Sweetie this is Richard,” Rarity said with a smile.
Sweetie's face changed from surprise to a frown. “Are you here to take my sister away again?” She said rearing up, crossing her hooves.
“Well, I…” Richard said, trying to answer.
“I won’t let you!” Sweetie said angrily pointing at him.
“Sweetie!” Rarity yelled out.
Sweetie ran up the stairs to her bedroom and closed the door hard. Rarity looked down and then looked at Richard who was thinking about the situation.
“Rarity, maybe I shouldn’t...” Richard started to say but was stopped with a kiss.
“Please stay dear, you just got here, and I want us to enjoy our time together,” She said with looked at him and then dropped down to her hooves. “Please make yourself at home, I’m going to check on my sister,” Rarity said and left the room.
Richard sat back down on the bed and looked at his watch as the second hand clicked forward once. He estimated that he could stay about 4 more days until he had to go back to his world. Richard yawned and then climbing out of bed and looked around until he was able to find the bathroom. Rarity had a long talk with her sister before tucking her into bed and by the time she got downstairs, she found Richard already asleep in her bed. She used her magic to close the window blinds, turn down the light and lock the door. Gently Rarity climbed into bed and snuggled up to Richard, who responded by rolling over to snuggle back. They started kissing each other again slowly making soft giggles.
"Oh, my!" Rarity exclaimed,
Richard awoke the next day and reached over to find that Rarity was not there. His feet felt better today, but now his body was tingling. With a yawn, he started to climb out of bed but noticed that his clothes were missing.
“Umm, hello?” He called out.
“Good morning darling,” Rarity answered from the kitchen, sounding very happy.
“Where are my clothes?” Richard asked, still under the covers.
“I washed them, dear they're right next to you, on the floor,” She said from the kitchen.
Rarity was wearing a pink apron with blue diamonds, she giggled softly working in the kitchen humming a tune. Richard looked down on the side of the bed and found his clothes, including his underwear cleaned and folded neatly. Reaching down, he tried to grab his underwear and then heard small clopping as Sweetie walking across the room. Quickly he slipped back under the sheets.
“Good morning Sweetie,” Richard said to her.
“Hmph...” She said not looking and walked away pointing her nose up.
Richard watched the small pony walk into the kitchen ignoring him. He was thinking about taking a shower, but breakfast smelled so good he decided to start with that. Richard tried again to grab his underwear, but could not get a grip.
“What the?” Richard said and looked over to see a hoof where his hand should be.
Quickly he kicked off the bedsheets and held up both arms to find only hooves. Touching his face, he found a muzzle where his nose and mouth should be.
“Good morning Rarity,” Sweetie said with a smile.
She sat down on the floor next to the table waiting. Rarity was making pancakes and her horn glowed as she poured the mixture into a frying pan.
“Hi Sweetie, breakfast will be ready soon,” Rarity smiled and quickly turned back to the stove.
A plate full of pancakes landed next to her, Sweetie horn glowed as she picked up her utensils and starting eating.
“You make the best pancakes sis,” She said with a smile between bites.
Richard struggled as he approached the kitchen and walked through the door, pushing on the frame trying to keep his balance.
“Rarity what happened to me?” Richard said in a loud voice as he stumbled into the kitchen.
“Richard!” Rarity yelled in surprise looking at him.
There stood a light brown earth pony with the same color blonde mane and hazel green eyes. He stumbled trying to walk on two legs but fell forward landing on his chest with his legs spread out.
“Want some pancakes?” Sweetie asked with a smile.

Chapter is done.
Looks like Richard now has new issue to deal with.
Yesterday at the lighting of the Hearth's Warming tree...
"There's your sister," Apple Bloom said, looking through the crowd.
"Sis I'm...," Sweetie Belle started to call out but then.
“Citizens of Ponyville, before we light the Hearth's Warming tree, I would first like to introduce to Richard, he is a human from another world,” Twilight said pointing to him.
Sweetie Belle gasped, looking at the human as he stepping forward and started talking. She remembered that Rarity used to talk about him a lot when she came back from Equestria.
She thought to herself looking worried.
Rainbow swooped in and landed next to Sweetie Belle and Apple Bloom.
"Hi girls, did I miss it?" Rainbow asked them.
"Na yer just in time," Apple Bloom said with a smile.
“Alright everypony this is the moment you have been waiting for,” Twilight said, walking up to the tall evergreen tree. ”Let's light up the tree on the count of three!” She said in a loud voice.
“ONE,”
“TWO,”
“THREE!”
Twilight's horn glowed bright purple and then shot a blast of magic that enveloped the tree. The lights on the tree lit up bright and started to twinkle different colors. Richard walked to Rarity and they kissed each other.
"Hehe, your sister is really snogging him," Rainbow said with a smirk elbowing Sweetie who looking horrified.
"I got to do something before he takes her away Apple Bloom," Sweetie said walking with her friend.
They both spotted a crowd of ponies with their children standing in line.
"Why not ask Santa?" Apple Bloom looked at the line up.
A wood fence surrounded an area with large red and white candy canes in the snow. Also, there were decorated trees and a large red sleigh hooked up to four pegasus ponies dressed for the holidays. There was a large lineup of little ponies waiting for a chance to sit in Santa's lap to ask him for a gift. Sitting in a large green chair was Discord dressed in a Santa suit with a large white beard looking bored. Another pony jumped in his lap and looked up at him.
"Santa, I want a jumper, a toy train, my own tree house." The young yellow colt asked him.
"Ho, ho and ho again, why yes little one, I will see what I can do, now run along," Discord said with a fake smile as the colt jumped off him.
Sweetie Belle had an idea what she wanted to ask and squeezed into the line.
The next day outside of Rarity’s home…
“I’m not a pony, this is ridiculous,” The light brown pony complained.
He shivered in the cold, even with his jacket that Rarity altered to fit his new body. It now it had bright blue colored sleeves, yellow and purple stripes down his back and the front was a light green color. Richard tried to stand on his new pony legs that wobbled like a newborn. Rarity was on his left and Sweetie Belle was on his right helping him stand.
“Isn’t this great now you can stay in Equestria,” Sweetie Belle said with a smile.
“But I don’t want to stay in Equestria,” He said stumbling.
“Richard please look at my legs and follow my steps,” Rarity said looking his way.
She started with her left hind leg forward the left front leg, right hind leg and then right front leg before repeating. Richard counted her steps one at a time and then looked at his legs.
“1-2-3-4,” He said, moving forward between them, “1-2-3-4, 1-2-3-4,” Richard said again stomping his hooves in the snow.
Sweetie Belle was giggling watching him walk like a Royal Guard. He looked at her and she whistled like nothing was wrong. After a few minutes Richard tried walking on his own around the house a few times counting his steps, his walking improved to the point that at least he was not falling down.
“Let’s get you to the doctor for a checkup,” Rarity suggested and walked in front of him leading the way.
Richard couldn’t help but noticed her lovely purple tail swishing from side to side as she walked. Sweetie looked over and watched him gawking at her’s sister's backside and grumbled, looking back at the snow on the ground and got an idea. She tossed a snowball at him, which smacked him in his side snapping him out of his gaze.
“What?” He asked looking over at the small unicorn, shaking the snow off.
Sweetie puffed her cheeks out frowning at him as they walked down the trail.
The doctor's office.
“Say Ahhh,” Doctor Horses asked the light brown pony.
“Ahhhhhh,” Richard said, opening his equine mouth.
A glowing tongue depressor pushed down on his tongue and the doctor took a closer look. Rarity sat patiently watching the doctor checking out the light brown pony sitting on the examining table. On earth, Richard was the one taking care of her, but now the role was reversed.
“Doctor, did you find anything?” She asked him.
“Hmmm, what we have here is a perfectly healthy pony, besides the lack of a cutie mark, I can’t find anything physically wrong with him,” Doctor answered and started to put away his instruments.
“But I’m a human,” Richard protested crossing his front hooves.
“I’m a doctor, not a psychiatrist,” Doctor said, closing his medical bag.
“This was a waste of time,” Richard said and hopped off the table.
He put on his jacket and walked a few steps on his rear legs before remembering he had four and dropped down. Richard then pushed the door open and left the office grumbling.
“Thank you, doctor,” She said and then quickly went after him. “Richard!” Rarity called out as she stepped outside.
His legs felt cold walking in the snow, this new body didn’t have a chance to grow a winter coat yet.
“Ok legs now forward,” He said looking at his hooves. “One left hind leg, Two left front leg, Three right hind leg, Four right front leg,” Richard said starting to move forward.
Rarity quickly caught up to him looking concerned.“Richard, where are you going?” She asked him.
“1-2-3-4, 1-2-3-4, To see Twilight, 1-2-3-4,” He answered in a stern voice and keep counting.
Rarity sighed, feeling that Richard was now more concerned about himself than her. He kept on counting as he walked stiffly like a soldier. Nearby Peaches Melody was wandering around Ponyville when she noticed the light brown pony walking like he was a royal guard. She pulled out a mirror quickly brushed her green mane. When he got close enough, she made her move.
“Hi there cutie,” Said the peach colored unicorn that stepped out into the path that Richard was walking.
“1-3, Crap, I lost count… again, 1-2-3-4,” He grumbled, pushed her aside and kept on moving.
“How rude!” She said looking at him walking away.
“Peaches! I mean Princess Peaches what are you doing here?” Rarity said as she stopped in front of her.
“Rarity?” She said hearing her name and turned to see her. ”It is you, please just call me Peaches, as you can see I’m not a princess anymore,” She said, turning to her side to show that she was missing her wings.
“Oh, I am so sorry,” Rarity said looking.
“Princess Celestia asked me to spend Hearth's Warming here in Ponyville, she thinks that I can make friends or something,” She said rolling her eyes.
“Well sincerely I hope you can, sorry I can’t stay, I need to catch up with my boyfriend,” Rarity said and then quickly ran after Richard.
“Sure, why not, just leave me here, it’s not that I needed company anyways,” Peaches said kicking the snow.
Sweetie Belle pulled a cart full of cookies and milk. She walked up to Fluttershy’s house and looked around to see if anyone was watching.
“Santa, I’m here,” Sweetie Belle called out.
Discord appeared in a flash dressed as Santa sitting a red sleigh with some random pegasus ponies attached by harness looking confused.
“Ho, Ho, Ho,” Discord said with a goofy smile, holding his belly as it shook like a bowl full of jelly.
“Here Santa, I brought your some cookies,” She said unhooking the cart from herself.
“Mmm, perfect for my figure little one,” He said, grabbing a claw full of cookies and started stuffing himself.
“I wanted to thank you for changing him into a pony, now he can stay in Equestria with my sister,” Sweetie said smiling.
“Yes, and do you know what the best part is?” Discord said, licking his claws clean.
"No?" She said looking up at him.
"I'm, not don't yet," He smiled tugging on his white bread with a grin.
“I made it!” Richard said and looked up at the large crystal castle. He stood up and knocked on the door with his hoof. “Twilight are you in there?” Richard called out looking at the door.
The door opened slowly and Spike came out and looked at unfamiliar looking pony wearing a jacket.
“Can I help you?” Spike asked him.
“Spike, it’s me, Richard,” He said trying to balance on two legs.
“Richard is a human and you're not, now if you want to make an appointment there is a form you can fill out in town,” The young dragon said.
Spike started to close the door but, then saw Rarity running to the castle. He quickly pulled out a mirror, checked his face and popped in a breath mint.
“Hi, Rarity!” Spike said waving.
“Richard, why didn’t you wait?” Rarity stopped right in front of him sounding angry.
“Sorry,” He said, dropping back down on his hooves.
“Hey, I know you, your Richard, right?” Spike said teasing.
“Spike please, is Twilight home?” Rarity asked him.
“Yes, but she has been busy getting ready for the Hearth's Warming Eve Pageant,” He opened the door letting them inside.
“Eeekkk, I forgot about the pageant, but there’s no time, how am I going to remember my lines, my life is over,” Rarity yelled out and ran around panicking and fell back into Richard hooves catching her just in time looking surprised.
“Relax Rarity this year Starlight Glimmer will play Princess Platinum,” Twilight walked out of a room dressed up as Clover the Clever.
“Please let me help with the costumes,” Rarity pleaded, standing back up on her hooves.
“I thought you wanted to spend more time with… who are you?” She pointed at the light brown pony.
“Hi I’m Richard the pony also formally know as Richard the HUMAN,” Richard said standing up.
Minutes later in Twilight laboratory...
Twilight was now dressed in a white lab coat, she placed a helmet full of sensors and wires on Richard’s head which also covered his eyes. The wires went to a machine with meters that measured magic activity. Rarity sat there watching her examine Richard.
“When did you notice that you changed into a pony?” She said as a notepad and pen floated in the air.
“This morning when I got out of bed,” Richard answered not able to see anything.
“So you went to bed as a human and then woke up as a pony… interesting,” She said, scribbling some notes and then looked up at him. “Did something happen last night?” Twilight asked him.
“Umm, maybe…” Richard said, clearing his throat.
“You need to be more specific than that,” She said looking at the pointer on the meter fluctuating.
“Do I have to, it’s kind of private,” He protested.
“Richard, if you won’t tell her I will,” Rarity said and stood up.
She then walked up to her and whisper in her ear, Twilight eyes opened wide and steam seemed to shoot out of her ears.
“SERIOUSLY!” She yelled out.
“You sound like my mother,” He said remembering something.
“So the trigger was direct, mmm... contact,” Twilight said as she wrote something on a notepad.
Richard felt a tingle in his nostrils and tried to rub them with his front hoof, the feeling that he needed to sneeze was getting stronger.
“Ya is was...Ahhh, Ahhh...” He yelled trying to hold back but then. “KA-chooo!”
There was a bright flash of light from Richard which surprised Twilight and Rarity.
“Ooh, that’s better,” Richard said with a sniff rubbing his nostrils.
“Now is unexpected,” Twilight said, looking at him.
“What is something on my nose?” He said, wiggling his muzzle.
“No dear, it's on your head,” Rarity said, taking out a mirror for him to look at.
Richard still looked like a pony but now had a horn on his head.
"WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON?" He yelled out touching his head.
Author's Note
Another chapter complete.
Thanks for reading.
“I can’t see,” Twilight said, stumbling in the bright red light squinting her eyes.
Richard’s horn glowed bright red lighting up the whole room.
“How do I turn it off?” He asked with his hooves touching his head.
“Richard what happens when the sun sets?” Rarity asked him, covering her eyes.
“It gets darker, what is that supposed to mean?” Richard said sounding frustrated.
“Close your eyes and think about the sunsetting,” She said in a loud voice.
“I’ll try,” He said closing his eyes.
Richard horn started to dim slowly. Twilight rubbed her eyes blinking adjusting to the light. She then quickly went to a desk and used her magic to open a shelf lifted out a purple amulet. Twilight placed the amulet around Richard's neck, which and caused his horn to stop glowing.
“That should help until you learn how to control your magic,” Twilight said looking at him.
“Thanks,” Richard said, opening his eyes and touched the amulet with his right front hoof.
“I’m sorry Richard, it’s because of me that this is happening to you,” Rarity apologized looking at him.
“My father always said that everything happens for a reason,” He said and walked up to her. “I don’t blame you,” Richard smiled and hugged her.
Twilight looked over the printouts from her magic analyzer and rubbed her chin thinking.
“Hmm, there is something familiar about these readings,” She said to herself.
Rarity started humming a tune, helping with the decorations around the castle and Richard followed her around helping. He found it strange that when he tried to grab something with his hoof, the object would stick to it like it was magnetic and then drop when he let go.
“What are you humming?” He asked, pushing a box full of decorations.
“Ponies' voices fill the night,” She started to sing and the other ponies near by joining in.
“Hearth's Warming Eve is here once again,” Twilight sang out as she hung strings of lights.
“Happy hearts so full and bright,” Fluttershy sang flapping her wings as she placed a glowing star on top of the tree.
“Hearth's Warming Eve is here once again” Applejack sang as she in pulling in a cart full of apple pies.
“Oh, what a sight, look at the light, all for tonight” Rainbow sang as she hung strings of glitter along the walls.
A blue knit cap landed on Richard's head, covering his eyes so he had to push it up. He watched as the large dance hall in Twilight's castle was transformed. Christmas or in this case Hearth's Warming decorations were hung and strung over every ledge, corners, windows, pillars and evergreen trees. It reminded him of Santa's Land at Macy's.
“Hearth's Warming Eve is here once again!” Richard sang out in a loud, deep voice, looking up at the tree.
Everyone stopped and looked at him, surprised. He looked around at everyone worried thinking he broke some rule.
“You can sing?” Rarity asked, sounding surprised.
“Yes, I use to sing in a church choir,” Richard said like it was not a big deal shrugging his shoulders.
“Can you sing us a song?” A random pony asked in the background.
“Please Richard, can you sing one of your Christmas songs?” Rarity asked fluttering her eyelashes.
“Fine, but I am a bit rusty,” He answered clearing his throat.
Ponies quickly gathered in front of him sitting down. Richard looked at the small crowd gathering and took a deep breath.
“Dashing through the snow, On a one-pony open sleigh, Over the fields we go, Laughing all the way...” He sang out in a loud, deep voice which resonated in the large crystal hall.
He was no Bing Crosby, but his voice was deep and everypony was captivated on hearing the song for the first time. Then he moved on to a silly song to see their reaction.
“Grandma got run over by a reindeer, walking home from our house Christmas eve, you can say there's no such thing as Santa, but as for me and grandpa we believe…” He sang out which cause some of the ponies to look at Granny Smith.
Three songs later…
Ponies clopped and stomped their hooves with an applause and then went about their own business.
Richard walked to a table for refreshments and grabbed a cup of water and drank it down.
“Twixie wants to know if you are married?” A cyan colored unicorn asked walking up to him.
“Well, I’m currently in a relationship,” Richard said, clearing his throat, looking confused until he realized that Twixie was speaking in 3rd person.
“Trixie is available if you change your mind,” She said passed him what looked like a business card and then walk away swishing her tail at him.
He looked at the card and noticed the same cutie mark as her, but he was not able to read the writing. The card glowed blue as it was snatched away by Rarity and then disappeared.
“You are attracting too much attention, dear,” Rarity walked up to him standing close which made some of ponies change direction.
“It was just a few songs,” He said sounding embarrassed.
Richard then remembered that in Equestria females outnumbered males 10 to 1 which can cause some problems at times.
“Let's head to the auditorium, the play is about to start,” She looked stern for a moment, but relaxed leading him to another large room with a stage.
This was the first time Ponyville was going to have their own Hearth's Warming Eve Pageant in Twilight new castle. It had the room for it and the ponies were delighted to help out with the decorations. Richard and Rarity found Sweetie Belle with Apple Bloom and Scootaloo.
“Sweetie Belle can you please watch over Richard until I get back?” Rarity asked her.
“Do I have to?” She grumbled looked at him with a frown.
“Where are you going?” He asked her.
“I may not be in the play this year, but I am still going to make sure the costumes are perfect,” Rarity said with a look of determination and walked to the back of the stage.
“Wow! Santa made yer wish come true,” Apple Bloom looked at Richard and then back to Sweetie Belle.
“Shhh,” She said trying to hush her by holding up her right hoof to her mouth.
“I should have asked Santa for bigger wings,” Scootaloo said looking at herself.
“Wish what wish?” Richard looked at Sweetie,
“I asked Santa if he could make you a pony, that way you can stay here with my sister,” She said noticing the horn on his head. “Nice horn,” Sweetie Belle smiled.
Richard's mouth dropped looking at Sweetie, he started to shake feeling his rage growing. The girls backed away when they saw him twitching.
“You, you…” He was about to yell when Applejack dressed as Smart Cookie walked out from behind red curtains onto the stage.
“Ladies and gentlecolts, Ah, welcome y'all to the Hearth's Warming Pageant,” Applejack said in a loud voice getting everypony's attention.
Ponies clopped and stomped their hooves as the lights went dim. Applejack walked to the right side of the stand and slipped behind the curtains. The red curtains opened up showing Spike as the narrator standing in the middle of the strange. He was dressed in elizabethan purple clothing upper class with orange feathers on a beret.
“Once upon a time, long before the peaceful rule of Celestia, and before ponies discovered our beautiful land of Equestria, ponies did not know harmony. It was a strange and dark time. A time when ponies were torn apart... by hatred!” Spike said.
Richard watched the play curious to learn about Hearth's Warming. What he got was a history lesson and learned that at one time ponies were divided into three tribes. Earth ponies were farmers, Unicorns raised, lowered the sun and moon, Pegasi controlled the weather. They didn’t like each other which caused the snow to fall. Rarity quietly joined Richard as he watched the play, she nuzzled against him to get his attention. As the play goes on the three princesses discover that is was their own fighting that caused the blizzard. They then started to sing the Hearts Carol. Twilight dressed as Clover the Clever created a heart-shaped flame with her magic that floating above the stage. Everypony joined in singing with the actors on stage.
“Loyalty binds us and makes us strong, honesty shows that we belong, and kindness shared will unite us through each day, the fire of friendship lives in our hearts, as long as it burns, we cannot drift apart, though quarrels arise, their numbers are few, laughter and singing will see us…” Everyone sang out while Richard hummed along.
The play ended with loud clops and cheers. Rarity kissed Richard before running off to be with her friends.
There was the faint sound of jingle bells outside that gradually got louder. Ponies started to notice and looked around trying to find the source of the sound. Then there was the sound of something that landed on the roof.
“HO, HO, HO!” A voice called out from the top of the castle.
“IT’S SANTA HOOVES!” Pinkie squealed out bouncing.
“Let’s check it out,” Twilight said, looking at her friends.
They quickly went upstairs, leaving a crowd of ponies behind. Richard tried to follow them, but Sweetie stood up in front of him with her front hooves spread out.
“Stop!” She said in a loud voice.
“Out of my way Sweetie,” He said trying to get past her.
“I know you are going to ask Santa to change you back,” Sweetie said pointing at him.
“Obviously, I have no intention on, spending the rest of my life as a pony,” Richard answer angrily.
“Then you’ll take my sister away!” She yelled at him.
“I love you sister, but I won’t take her away,” He said looking at her.
“You promise,” The small white unicorn said with her front hooves crossed.
“Yes, can I go now?” The light brown unicorn asked her.
She paused for a moment and then dropped down on all fours and moved out of the way. Richard quickly ran upstairs heading in the direction, Twilight was going. The door on the roof opened and Twilight stepped out first into the blowing wind and snow.
“It’s a blizzard!” She yelled out.
“Oh, ma stars!” Applejack walked out and squinted.
“Why is this happening didn't we just sing the Heart Carol?” Rarity pushed her way outside her hooves sinking into the snow.
“So much snow, weee!” Pinkie yelled out sounding happy as she jumped into it, making snow angels.
“I’ll just stay by the door,” Fluttershy said.
“Don’t worry, I’ll fix this,” Rainbow flapped her wings and tried to fly only to be pushed back by the wind.
“Ho Ho Ho, Merry Hearth's Warming!” Said a figure dressed in red as he climbed out of a red sleigh.
“Discord!” They yelled out together,
“Ssshhh, not so loud the kids may hear you,” Discord said walking closer.
He was fully dressed in a Santa suit with a fat belly and a large white beard.
“What are you up to?” Twilight asked demanding an answer.
“Ho, Ho, Spreading the holiday cheer,” He smiled, rubbing his claw in his white beard.
“SANTA!” Richard yelled out pushing the door open.
“Excellent you're just in time,” Discord grinned.
“Change me back!” He yelled out standing up.
Twilight then remember the readings from her magic analyzer and it now made sense.
“Ho, Ho, no my boy, not until you help me deliver all these presents,” Discord snapped his claw and a very large red sack appeared in the back of his sleigh.
“Fine, I’ll do it,” Richard said, walking towards him.
“Where he goes, I go!” Rarity stepped forward.
“Me too!” Pinkie said, walking up to Rarity.
“Aaawww, do I have to,” Rainbow complained.
“Alright, if everyone is going then count me in,” Twilight said.
“Come on Fluttershy let’s go,” Applejack urged her friend to come.
“I hope this doesn’t take too long,” Fluttershy said, walking to her friends.
Discord aka Santa disappeared and reappeared on in large sleigh.
“Sorry boys you can take the night off,” He said looking forward.
With a snap of his claw the pegasus ponies attached to his sleigh disappear in a flash. Richard looked at Rarity and then at her friends looking worried. Discord snapped his claw again and in a flash, Richard found himself attached to the front of the sleigh with Rarity, Twilight, Rainbow and Fluttershy behind him. Pinkie Pie and Applejack appeared on the left and right sitting in the sleigh dressed as elves with Discord in the middle.
“Discord! Richard and Rarity can’t fly!” Twilight yelled out looking back.
“Trust me,” He said not sounding concerned and grabbed the reins.
“On Richard, On Rarity, On Twilight, Rainbow and Fluttershy!” Discord whipped the reins and the sleigh lurched forward.
“AAAaaa!!!” Richard yelled out looking down as the ponyville got smaller.
“I’m right behind you, dear!” Rarity said looking ahead.
Richard new wings flapped on their own and it felt like his body was being controlled like a puppet. Rarity also gained a new pair of wings and looked back to see Twilight and Rainbow.
“I wanted to be first,” Rainbow grumbled.
“Maybe next time,” Twilight said, looking over.
“Let me know when it is over,” Fluttershy said flying with her eyes closed.
“I almost forgot to turn on the high beam,” Discord pulled a lever and Richard horn started glowing bright red lighting up the sky.
“What’s going on?” Richard yelled out noticing that his horn was glowing again.
“Weee, this is awesome!” Pinkie yelled out.
“Ah think I’m gonna be sick,” Applejack held her mouth.
“HO, HO, HO, MERRY HEARTH’S WARMING,” Discord yelled out as they streaked out into the night sky.
That night all across Equestria, Discord with the elements of harmony visited each home spreading the joy of hearth’s warming...
“I want to go home!” Richard yelled.
Author's Note
Ho, Ho a bit late but hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas.
A bit of silliness in this chapter.
It has been months for Rarity since Richard left Equestria...
“I’m so fat!” Rarity whined looked at herself in the mirror.
“Maybe you should cut down on the hayburgers,” Twilight suggested.
“But I can’t help it, I’m always hungry,” Rarity complained trying to find a dress that would fit her.
“Ever since Richard left, ya haven’t been yerself,” Applejack said digging herself out of a pile of clothes.
“That must be it! I’m eating to fill in my emptiness,” Rarity said trying to rationalize her condition.
“Muffin?” Pinkie said offering a white muffin with blue icing and multicolored sprinkles.
Rarity tried to resist but Pinkie kept teasing her with it until she started to chase her around her house.
“You know the last time I saw somepony like this, was when Mrs. Cake was pregnant,” Pinkie said and then noticed that Rarity stopped chasing her.
“I think, I need to sit down,” Rarity said feeling dizzy.
“Maybe you should see Dr. Horse just in case,” Twilight suggested.
“But it can’t be…” She looked at her friends worried.
“Someone has been naughty,” Rainbow said with a smirk but got bonked by Applejack. “Ouch!” She said rubbing her head.
“I’ll walk you to the office Rarity,” Fluttershy said in a gentle voice.
*Beep beep beep* Richard awoke to the sound of his alarm clock, he rolled over and pressed a button on the clock silencing the alarm.
With a yawn, he slowly sat up on the side of the bed, looked at his hands and wiggled his fingers. Discord changed him back to human as promised. Twilight told him that she was going to work on the mirror and try to resolve the time dilation issue. Rarity cried and promised to visit him often, that was a month ago, so in the meantime it was business as usual, work, eat, sleep and repeat.
“Meow,” The cat said as it brushed its body against his leg.
“Ginger, how’s my favorite cat?” He said, reaching down to pet her.
After taking a shower, he got dressed and had his breakfast. Then put on his winter jacket, boots, toque and mitts before opening the front door. He headed back to work for the day, leaving the comfort of his house behind.
Not longer after that, the mirror in the spare bedroom started to glow. Bags of luggage popped out of the mirror one by one landing on the floor until there was a small mountain. Rarity then stepped through the mirror into the bedroom, she was wearing a light purple dress mixed with layers of light blue and a pink flounce.
“Richard I’m back!” She called out but didn’t get an answer.
Another pony stepped out of the mirror after her, it was an older pink colored unicorn with blue eyes and a bouffant style mane that was light purple with gray streaks and matching tail. She was wearing an orange blouse with white pants.
“Rarity please, don’t strain yourself, let me help with your bags,” Cookie Crumbles said as her horn glowed picking up all the bags off the floor.
“Richard!” She called again but didn’t get an answer. “I don’t think he is home right now, mom please, I can carry my bags,” Rarity said looking back.
“Nonsense, let your mother help you,” Cookie insisted.
“This way mom,” She said, deciding not to argue.
Rarity walked into the large bedroom and immediately picked up Richard's smell. She looked around and noticing that it was a mess, her horn glowed and she started to make clean up.
“MEOW!” The cat cried out from the hallway looking up at Cookie and then ran away.
“This place is infested with vermin,” She said looking around.
“Mom that was Richard’s pet cat, she is harmless,” Rarity said as she finished making the bed.
“I’m looking forward to giving him a lecture for leaving you in this state,” Cookie walked into the bedroom and dropped the bags on the bed.
“Mom, please let me handle this,” Rarity said feeling stressed.
“And if he tries to run, I’m going to tie him up, and bring him back to Equestria,” Mom said in a stern voice.
“Yes, Mother,” Rarity rubbed her temples, trying to stay calm.
That evening after work Richard returned home, with a yawn, he opened the front door and walked into his house. He noticed that the light was on in the kitchen as he removed his winter jacket and boots. He thought.
“Richard your home!” Rarity called out as she walked out of the kitchen dress in a pink and purple apron.
She ran to the front entrance and stood up to hug him. Richard was speechless and hugged her back, she looked disappointed, but he got the message and bent down to kiss her. Richard then noticed that her belly looked bigger than last time he saw her.
“What a surprise when did you get here?” He asked her.
“This morning, and not a moment too soon, your house really needed a good cleaning.” Rarity said pointing at him.
“Ahem!” Cookie cleared her throat and clopping her hooves to get their attention.
“Richard this is my mother Cookie Crumbles,” She said introducing her.
“Nice to meet you,” Richard said nervously noticing they way she was looking at him.
“So this is the HU-MON who left my daughter with a bun in the ov… Mmmfmm,” Cookie tried to say but was cut off when her blue apron was lifted over her mouth.
“Mom, please!” Rarity pleaded as her horn glowed.
Richard scratched his head, confused and looked and Rarity who looked back with a big fake smile. Cookie’s horn glowed as she pushed her apron down looking annoyed.
“Dinner's ready,” She said leading him to the kitchen table.
The tablecloth was a light green with yellow ribbons around the edges, there was a vase in the middle with a random assortment of flowers. The meal prepared was a vegetarian delight with salad, beans, olives, tomatoes, and potatoes.
“Wow, you have been busy,” Richard commented though he really wanted a steak.
“Actually, my mother did most of the work,” Rarity said and sat down next to him.
“That's right, she needs to take it easy and eat well,” Cookie said as she sat down looking at them both.
“Well then compliments to the chef,” He raised his glass to Cookie and drank from it.
During the rest of the meal, there was some ideal chat about what was going on the Equestria.
“Tell me more about yourself Richard?” Cookie asked him.
“I was born in Canada, but my parents moved to Pennsylvania when I was two years old. Went to Youngsville Elementary and then Fairview High after that I tried college but didn’t make it past the second year…” Richard was explaining his unremarkable life.
“What you are doing now?” Cookie interrupted him.
“I work at a department store in sales and service... Rarity let me help with the dishes,” He said and stood up.
“It’s quite alright dear,” Rarity said.
“Come on, move over, I got this,” Richard gently bumped her aside.
Rarity leaned against him as he washed the dishes and looked back noticing that her mother was smiling.
That evening Rarity sat down on the couch next to Richard and cuddled up.
“Richard we need to talk,” Rarity said, taking a deep breath.
“Sure, what’s up?” He said, caressing her mane.
“I’ll be in the bedroom if you need me,” Cookie said and left them alone.
Rarity swallowed hard as horn glowed removing her dress revealing her swollen belly. At first he thought she was coming onto him and been eating a lot.
“After you left Equestria, I started to think that maybe, it would be best that I don't see you again,” She said in a sad voice.
“Wait a minute, did you come all this way to break up with me?” Richard asked sounding upset.
“No, let me finish, then this happened,” Rarity said and touched her belly with her hoof. “So I went to see the doctor and that's when I found out that I was pregnant,” She said looking at him.
“Pr, pre, pregnant, as in with child, who, who is the father?” He said feeling light headed.
“It’s you, dear, there is no one else,” She said looking in his eyes.
“That’s impossible your a pony and I am a human,” Richard said, trying to think of an explanation.
“Nothing is impossible, after all, I am a magic unicorn pony from Equestria,” Rarity said as her eye’s glowed the same color as her horn.
He reached over and touched her belly that was covered with soft white fur with his hands feeling. Richard felt a kick and looked up at Rarity who looked back at him with a gentle smile.
“We're going to have a baby,” He said.
Later on, Cookie came out of the bedroom to check, she found Richard laid his head on Rarity's lap with his ear against her belly.
“You can put the rope away Mom,” Rarity said when she saw her.
Cookie turned around and headed back into the hallway, a yellow glowing bundle of rope followed her.
“Do you know if it’s going to be a girl or a boy?” Richard said, looking up at her.
“I don’t know if it is going to be a pony,” She said, looking worried.
Author's Note
A bun in the oven, oh my
I'm going to try and wrap up the story soon.
So the pace of the story my seem to be a bit rushed.
Maybe I am just feeling burned out.
Thanks for reading.
A few months later...
The mirror glowed as Doctor Horse stepped into the living room, he was wearing his medical coat and holding a medical bag it his mouth.
“Thank goodness you're here Doctor,” Cookie said looking nervous.
“I came as soon as I could,” He said, dropping the medical bag onto the floor.
“This way,” Richard said leading him to the main bedroom.
The medical bag floated off the ground and followed Dr. Horse as he walked into the bedroom. Rarity was on top of the bed sheets laying on her side with a bag of ice on her head.
“The doctor is here,” Richard said, lifting the bag of ice off her.
“Thank Celestia, OOOH,” Rarity said with a moan feeling another contraction.
“Let's take a look at you,” The doctor said adjusting his glasses.
His bag opened and he retrieved some medical instruments from it, Richard recognized some of the basic ones, but others looked alien to him. Doctor Horse measured her belly and then placed his hooves gently feeling, before moving down to check for dilation.
“It won’t be long now,” Dr. Horse said stepping back.
"I'll get the towels ready," Cookie said and left the bedroom.
“What about Snowflake if it’s a girl or Sharpie if it’s a boy?” Rarity suggested breathing heavy looking at him.
“Those are pet names,” Richard said, holding her right front hoof and rubbed her forehead looking at her.
“The names are AAAH normal in Equestria,” She said closing her eyes.
“How about Sofia or Sebastian for Earth and then you can pick a second name for Equestria,” Richard said looking in her eyes.
“It hurts, OOOH, AAAH,” Rarity said with a moan.
“I see the head, push, push!,” Dr. House said looking up at her.
"Ooo!!!" Rarity yelled out feeling like she was being torn apart and then the pressure released.
Suddenly there was a high pitch cry as Dr. House quickly picked up the newborn and examined it.
"Congratulations, it's a filly," He said, with a snip and tied off the umbilical cord.
"She's beautiful," Cookie smiled as she cleaned her and wrapped her in a soft blanket, then gently brought her to Rarity.
"Richard look she has your hair," Rarity gently folded the blanket, revealing a very small white unicorn pony with a blond mane. He noticed that her horn was only a very small bump on the top of her head.
"She has your eyes," Richard said with a smile looking at her big blue eyes.
"Have you decided on a name?" Dr. Horse asked them.
"Sofia..." Richard started to say.
"Sofia Pearl Labonte," Rarity spoke up and looked at Richard, who nodded in agreement.
"I'm so proud of you, dear," Cookie said and nuzzled Rarity.
"Sofia this is your grandma," Richard said with a smile, holding the bundle of joy in his hands.
"Grandma no, no, no, she can just call me Betty," Cookie protested.
Sofia's nose was wet and she sniffled wiggling her nose until she let out a small sneeze. Suddenly there was a flash of light that enveloped her and when the light faded, he was now holding a baby girl with blond hair and blue eyes.
"Is that supposed to happen?" Richard asked.
In Equestria
Princesses Celestia smiled as two small hands reached out from a stroller and touched her nose. Sofia giggled, looking up at the pony princess, she was dressed in a cute purple dress with a pink ribbon in her blond hair wearing Minnie Mouse diaper.
"She's so cute," Celestia said with a big smile, stepping back from the stroller.
"I have never seen anything like this before," Luna said, lowering her head into the stroller to get a better look.
Sofia made more silly baby noises now looking up at the dark pony princess of the night as she sucked on a pacifier.
"When she sneezes, it triggers the change," Rarity said look at Princess Celestia.
"She was conceived the night, that Richard was changed into a pony is that correct?" Celestia as her.
"Yes," Rarity blushed a little.
Celestia paced back and forth thinking and then glanced up at the stained glass window noticing Discord was hiding in it.
"Discord!" Her voice echoed in the large hallway.
Discord glass shape slithered it's way down the glass until it fell to the ground and shatter into small pieces and then reformed into a draconequus.
"You Rang, Your Majesty," He said, bowing with a goofy smile.
"It appears that Rarity's child can change her form, would you happen to know why that is?" Celestia asked him.
The draconequus gently picked up Sofia, his small white beard tickled her nose as he looked at her.
"Achoo!" Sofia sneezed causing, a bright flash of white magic.
Discord was now holding a small white unicorn pony with blue eyes and a blond mane.
"Gesundheit little one!" He said with a grin, with a snap a tissue appeared and he rubbed her wet nose.
"So she is a human or a pony?" Richard said rubbing his forehead.
"Interesting she seems to have inherited some of my magic as well, in that case, you can just call me Uncle," Discord smiled and placed her on the floor.
Sofia stood up on all fours and slowly stumbled towards Mommy.
"She is perfect the way she is," Rarity smiled and laid on her side allowing Sofia to nurse.
Epilogue
Years has past and since that time Richard and Rarity got married which was also a symbolic gesture signaling the corporation between Equestria and Earth. So an Equestria Embassy was built with many features borrowed from Canterlot Castle incorporated into its design. It was a small building that functioned both as an embassy and a travel terminal between worlds. Trade relations and travel were still being worked out between this country’s government and Princess Celestia’s kingdom. Rarity was given the task as ambassador, which she accepted reluctantly under Princess Celestia's request.
In her office, Rarity was busy with sorting the paperwork. “Hmm, everything looks in order,” She said, adjusting her orange glasses.
Rarity glanced at her large wooden desk as she dipped a feather pen in ink and started signing the pages one at a time.
“Mommy, mommy,” A little girl said with excitement as she ran into the office.
Sofia was in her human form today, her skin was fair with big rosy cheeks and blonde hair tied behind her head. She was wearing her light blue dress with pink flowers that stopped just below the knees, white socks on her legs and purple shoes on her feet.
“Sofia, please knock first, and ask permission before entering,” Rarity said, looking down at her from her desk.
Sofia quickly backed up, and then knocked on the door, with her with her knuckles.
“Yes, dear?” Rarity said with a smile.
“Can I come in?” Sofia asked fidgeting on the spot.
“Why of course you can,” She said and dipped her hoof in a solution to remove some ink.
“Mom the mirror is glowing,” The young girl said happily.
Rarity looked at the clock on the wall, she climbed off her chair and landed on her hooves.
“Let’s see who it is,” Rarity said with a smile.
Arrival from Equestria flashed across the notification board, in both English and Equestrian displaying the differences in time. The large mirror stopped humming as it powered down, closing the portal. A peach colored unicorn stepped off the platform and looked around at her new surroundings, her fur was a blend of pink and orange. Her mane and tail were a light olive green with a small green tree cutie mark imprinted on her rear. She was wearing pink sunglasses, chewing bubble gum and blowing blue bubbles as she walked towards customs area, there was a small security line that zigged and zagged to a single border guard.
“Next,” The human guard said, motioning the pony to come forward.
The Unicorn sighed and walked up to the border guard's booth, the guard was a tall man white man wearing a border guard's uniform and badge.
“Name and papers,” He asked looking down at her.
“Peaches Melody,” She said as her horn glowed a light yellow.
The bag she was carrying on her side opened and her papers floated to the guard who grabbed them. He looked them over carefully, found her picture and looked back and the pony wearing sunglasses.
“Closer please,” Guard asked her.
Peaches moved closer and then the guard, grabbed her sunglasses and removed them, which revealed her green eyes, she flinched back in surprise blinking.
“What is your purpose of your visit?” He asked looking over her papers again, which had Princess Celestia’s royal signature.
“I am here to learn from one of your educational establishments, Princess Celestia has made arrangements with your government, it’s all right there on the pamphlet,” She said pointing with her hoof.
The guard looked over the papers once more, then took out an ink stamp and stamped each page before handing it back to her.
“Follow me please,” He climbed out the booth and lead her to the terminal.
Rarity was waiting at the exit when she saw Peaches walking out of two large doors, her horn was glowing as she struggled to pull her bags which looked like they were unpacked and repacked in a hurry.
“Peaches Melody is that you?” Rarity sounding surprised to see her.
“Rarity! I never expected to see you here, I thought you were still in ponyville,” Peaches asked looking back at her.
“That was a long time ago, it's so good to see you again, this is my daughter Sofia," Rairty said introducing her.
Peaches looked over at the smiling human girl with blue eyes and blond hair.
"Nice to meet you,” She said with a big smile.
Just as one story ends a new one has just started.
Author's Note
Pushed myself to get this story finished, sorry if it seems to be rushed in the end.
I actually wrote the epilogue before I started the story.
Not far from Fluttershy's house in Equestria.
Spike was sitting at a picnic table holding fish shaped playing cards in his claws. On the other end of the table was Discord also holding fish shaped playing cards.
“Do you have a 5?” Spike said, peering over his cards.
“Go fish,” Discord said with amusement.
Spike put his cards down and grabbed a fishing reel. He then cast his line out into a nearby pond and started to reel is back slowly.
“I don’t think this is the way you play the game Discord,” Spike said with a grumble.
“Perhaps not, but isn’t this more fun?” Discord asked with a goofy grin as Spike’s rod twitched.
“Argh!” Spike yelled as he yanked back on the fishing rod that was bending down. He was then pulled out of his seat and dragged into the water with a splash.
“It better be a Kingfish this time!” Discord said yelling at the pond.
“Discord!” Twilight called out as she walked into Fluttershy's backyard.
“It wasn’t me,” The Draconequus said, hiding under the picnic table.
Twilight rolled her eyes and walked to the table and found a baby version of Discord in a cradle with a pacifier. Her horn glowed as she lifted the table up and moved it away.
“Discord, please I need your help?” She asked him,
Spike gasped for air as he surfaced from the pond, holding a small fish that was wearing a crown in his claws.
“Oh goody you found one,” Discord said and returned to his normal size with the pacifier still in his mouth.
“Hi Twilight, want to play a game of fish?” Spike said, shaking the water out of his scales.
"Not right now Spike, sorry," Twilight said and then looked back at Discord.
"How can I help you, princess?" Discord said, spitting out the pacifier.
"I'll get right to the point, can you bring Rarity back?" She asked him.
Discord seemed unsurprised by this request and looked at Spike, who's faced dropped and then back to her.
Rarity was spending more nights in Richard’s bed than her own. At first, Richard would ask her to sleep in her bed, but after a few nights he stopped. Rarity remembered the times that her sister sneaked into bed, especially during a thunderstorm. Maybe she was trying to make up for that loss by sleeping with Richard or maybe it was something else. There were no signs of a portal from the mirror, but she did feel the magic of the gem increasing when the moon was visible in the night sky.
It was the middle of the week and Richard was rushing out the front door. He quickly slipped on his jacket and shoes, then opened the front door.
“Alright, I am off to work, you have my number if something happens!” He said in a loud voice.
“I doubt anything will Richard, but I will try to keep myself entertained while you are gone,” She said from the kitchen and waved her right front hoof.
Rarity blew a kiss when the door closed and then realized what she did with a gasp covering her mouth. Did he see me? She thought, felt her cheeks turn red. Rarity walked back to the kitchen and noticed that Richard forgot his lunch box.
Richard started backing up when suddenly there was a blue flash of light in the passenger seat. He slammed on the brakes surprised and noticed that his lunch box appeared in the seat. Richard looked back and saw Rarity outline in the curtain for a second before she left.
“Thanks, Hun,” He said. Did I just call her hun? Richard though, and cleared his throat.
He relaxed and released the brake pedal and continued on his way to work. Richard's SUV drove past a large black van was parked on the side of the road not far from the house.
Within the back black van was rows of monitors, computers, and variety of surveillance equipment. There was a caucasian man dressed in a black tux wearing dark sunglasses he was watching one of the monitors.
"The owner of the house has left and the alien is still inside," He said and pressed a button on the keyboard.
One screen switch on showing a bald man wearing glasses and a white lab coat. His face was wrinkled with age and his lips looked almost purple in color. The glasses on his head made his dark brown eyes look much larger than normal.
"Have you finished with the wire taps and cameras?" The old man said with a German accent.
"Agent 5 is currently installing them as we speak Professor," The soldier said and poured himself a hot cup of coffee.
"This better be a hoax," The professor said and disconnected the line.
“No,” Discord answered.
“Why not?” Twilight said angrily, “You should just be able to snap your claws and bring her back.” She said looking at him.
Spike looked at Discord as he shook his head and floated upward into the air.
“Spike asked me the same question not long ago and I’m going to give you the same answer. Your friend has gone to a place where my powers can’t reach,” He answered looking down at them.
“Then it’s hopeless,” Twilight said, turning around and started to walk away slowly.
"Hopeless you say? That's not the Twilight Sparkle I know. Did you give up when the plunderseed vines invaded Ponyville?" Discord said, taking on the persona of a coach dressed in a white t-shirt with a whistle around his neck.
"No, but that was your fault." She said looking at him.
"Besides the point, what about King Sombra or Lord Tirek. What would have happened if you gave up then?" He said landing on the ground.
"Alright, I get it, but there has got to be a way," Twilight said, looking at Spike, who was having a hard time looking at her with his arms crossed.
"Behold the mighty and powerful Cellphone!" Discord said with a booming voice and a cellphone appeared in his one clawed paw.
"Isn't that Sunset's?" Twilight said, pointing at the name tag on the back of it.
"Really?" Discord turned the cellphone around and peeled the label away whistling.
Rarity reached up with her front left hoof and switch on the basement light. With Richard's help, she recreated her clothing workshop from Equestria. There were some obvious differences with the electric lighting, computer, TV, Radio but it did feel more familiar to her.
She started a tune and her horn glowed. Pieces of clothing started floating the air and a needle and thread sewed them together.
Stitch by stitch, stitching it together
Mmm...mmm.mmm
She sang a few lines and then continued to hum. Clothing then floated to an electric sewing machine. Rarity sat down and pushed on the pedal with her rear hoof and used her magic to hold the fabric steady as the machine did its work.
A small pin hole camera snaked in through a hole in the wall and focused on Rarity.
"Agent 1, is the Alien, building a spacecraft or some doomsday device?" Professor van Oostrom asked from one of the video monitors.
"No, sir, it looks like it is making a dress," He said sounding bored.
"According to the website, the dress sells for 15 dollars and it comes in a variety of colors and sizes. Shipping and handling are extra." Agent 5 said, looking at the computer monitor.
"What kind of Alien is this?" The Professor asked sounding annoyed.
"A unicorn with great fashion sense?" Agent 1 said, pointing as Rarity climbed out of her chair and walked on her hoofs to the next piece of clothing.
Agent 5 was a tall well built African American wearing a tux also with a bald head.
"Sir are we going to move in to capture?" Agent 5 asked.
"Not yet, there must be something else, something we are missing..." The Professor said as his picture disappeared.
"Looks like it is going to be another long day Michael," Agent 1 yawned leaning back in his chair.
Later that afternoon, Rarity was putting the last pieces on a couple of dresses before packing. The cat upstairs was sniffing the air and noticed something.
"Meow," The cat called out from upstairs.
"Ginger, I'm down here," Rarity said looking upstairs.
"Meow!" Again the cat called sounding like something was bothering it.
"I'm sorry, I don't speak cat," She said as she finished folding the clothing with her magic.
"MEOW!" Cat yelled out loudly, looking downstairs with its big eyes.
"Alright, I'm coming," Rarity rolled her eyes and climbed up the stairs.
Her nose immediately picked up the smell of something burning. She quickly ran into the kitchen, but found nothing, the stove and oven were switched off. Sniffing more she realized it was coming from outside, looking out the window, she spotted black smoke coming from the neighbor's house. Mr. Taylor's house was on fire.
"Oh dear, oh dear, what do I do? Where are the numbers?" Rarity asked herself in a panicked voice.
She ran around the house and found the phone on the wall with a list of emergency numbers. Rarity was still learning how to read English but she figured out the numbers. Richard drew pictures of each set of numbers to help her recognize which one to call. The was a word with a drawing of a flame on top of it. Taking a deep breath, she tried to calm herself and her horn started glowing blue. The receiver unhooked from the phone and floated in the air and she grabbed a pencil with her mouth, dialed 9-1-1. There was an electric beep after beep and then a click as the operator answer.
"This 911 my name is Janice how can I help you?" The operator said with a clear voice.
"Yes, hello there, my name is Rarity, I have an emergency to report." She said as the receiver floated next to her left ear.
"What is the emergency, madam?" The operator asked her.
"My neighbor's house is on fire, please hurry," Rarity said looking out the window.
"Ok miss, I have your address listed as 46 Dunkirk Street is that correct?" She asked.
"Yes, but it is the neighbor's house that's on fire," The pony said pacing back and forth.
"I have instructed the local fire department, EMS to go your location, do you know if anyone is inside the house?" The operator asked.
"Mr. Taylor lives there, I need to make sure he is safe," Rarity said.
"Please miss, stay where you are, the emergency team will be there momentarily," The operator pleaded with her.
"Sorry, I may not be in Equestria, but I am still an element of harmony," She said and dropped the phone leaving a confused operator on the other end.
In the black van Agent 1, just finished listening to the phone call and looked at one of the monitors. The front door opened and Rarity quickly ran outside towards the neighbor's home.
"Sir the Ailen has just left the house!" He yelled out, slamming his finger into the keyboard.
"DON'T JUST SIT THERE WE NEED TO CAPTURE BEFORE PUBLIC SEES IT!" Professor yelled out.
Discord listened to the busy signal and then tried dialing again, only to get the same beep-beep-beep.
"Well, anything Discord?" Twilight asked, looking at him.
"I was sure I was dialing the right number, Hmmm," He said with a shrug and shook the cell phone.
"Didn't you just say your magic couldn't reach Rarity?" Spike asked pointing at him.
"Interdimensional teleportation not possible, but making a phone call easy," He said and smacked the side of the cell phone.
"Let go home Spike, we can try some more combinations tonight," Twilight said and started to walk back to her castle.
Spike tossed the fish back into the pond and then followed her.
Along the road, people were standing on the sidewalk across the street keeping their distance. They were watching the black smoke rising from the roof of the house.
"Do you think anyone is inside?" One person asked adjusting his glasses.
"The car is still in the driveway," Another one said.
"Mommy, it's a pony!" A small girl yelled out holding her's mother's hand and pointing at the white unicorn running toward the front of the house.
"Don't be silly dear, there's no..." She stopped talking we so also saw Rarity.
"Unicorn!" A man said in a loud voice.
"STOP!" Yelled a two men dressed in tuxedos as they ran towards Rarity.
Agent One had a tranquilizer and the other a compact net launcher.
Rarity saw them coming but she had no time to respond. Her horn glowed bright blue she pulled the front door off its hinges and tossed it at the men chasing after her. Smoke started pouring out from the entrance. The men jumped out of the way before the large wooden door landed on them. Dark orange and yellow flames started appearing on rooftop burning it away. The sound of Fire Trucks could be heard in the distance. Rarity ran into the house not looking back.
"Mr. Taylor! Where are you?" She yelled out and started to cough, breathing the toxic smoke.
