Chapters Today is sure to be a grand day. You feel sure of it from your ears to your tail. There is something in the air, something new and different. The bustle of the town around you feels livelier than normal, but what could it mean?
Ponyville's town square is lively as ever. Two ponies are wandering past, each holding up one part of a mirror. You ignore them a moment to take a breath of the fresh air and marvel at the square itself. The Friendship Express chugs into place in the distance. Sugarcube Corner's delicious aromas tickles the air. You can see a pony emerging from Carousel Boutique.
The ponies hauling the mirror get in your way, allowing you to get a look at yourself as the mirror doesn't let you see much other than yourself and what was behind you. You decide to take the chance to make sure everything was in order.
Looking back at you is:
A: An Earth Pony
B: A Pegasus
C: A Unicorn
Author's Note
What, another of these? Are you mad? Turns out, yeah, kind of a little. If you want an option and it isn't done yet, comment about it so I get on that. Let's have some fun!
An earth pony, with bright yellow fur and a soft orange mane. Yep, it is all in order. You are looking as good as usual. With a chuckle, you move past the mirror and the ponies holding it up. They can't be bothered with acknowledging you.
"Strange. This town is always busy but not this busy." You flick your tail as you advance.
You shake your head, shrug your shoulders, and make for Sugar Cube Corner on instinct alone. The thought of something sweet to snack on was too much to resist. Maybe one of those fancy cupcakes! You lick your lips with the imagined flavor.
On speedy hooves, you trot with purpose through the town. On your way to the store, you spot more ponies than ever before gathering in clusters, mumbling to each other excitedly. As you pass by them, you overhear them discussing a party? It couldn't be anything special today, could it?
There was the local party specialist, Pinkie, eagerly explaining things. With an "Aha!" you approach her to see if she can clue you in on what's happening. She turned away from the group she was chatting with and toward you. She smiled widely at the sight of you. "Just the pony I was hoping to see." She threw a leg over your withers and drew you closer. "My plan won't work without you."
You smile at Pinkie's overly-friendly demeanor, but shake your head to get her hoof off your back. "Wait, what do you mean?" You look up and see that she had erected an enormous banner, bold letters reading, "PONYVILLE PARTY CONFERENCE."
"This is super duper, extra important!" Pinkie leans in far too close. "I realized we forgot a pony's birthday! This cannot be allowed! Can I count on you?!"
She thrust a hoof at you expectantly.
You have a few choices:
A: Help her out!
B: You have your own work to do.
C: This is actually your day off.
You take up the rear of the wing of weather pegasi, soaring towards those troubling clouds. Rainbow Dash's "woohoo" of joy carried on the wind towards you. You smile, nodding at her eagerness to get out there. You'd be lying if you said you didn't share it. But something catches your eye. Behind you and below, you see some unicorn cackling with glee. The clouds are coming on faster, and they're laughing up a fit as ponies cower and flee. You just know something is up with this.
You dive away from the others and flap towards the villainous unicorn.
You bring a little cloud over to them and use it for cover as you flap in closer and closer. "Did you ever think about how you're affecting other ponies? How would you feel if your fun got a cloud like that to rain on somepony else's parade?"
They turn their way at you with a gasp. Then the rain comes, drenching the bad unicorn on the spot as you laugh at their misery.
"When I get my hooves on you!" thunders the unicorn, raising a hoof that glowed with dark magic. "I'll—" But the rain you brought down on her makes her mane slick. With that, the tiara on her head flops off.
She suddenly looks dizzy instead of evil. She slumps back, appearing normal again. "Oooh. What just happened? I remember feeling like I could take on the world, but... where did that cloud come from?" She looks up at you, leaning away as if expecting an attack.
You shake your head with a smile. "Glad to see you're back to your usual self." You kick the cloud into vapor. "You were feeling a little, uh, crazy. But we're past that now, right?" Before it could cause more trouble, you snatch the tiara back. "Where'd you get this from?"
"Oh that? A pony by the name of Crystal Check. He was selling crystals and I figured why not." She raises her head. "No harm done, right?"
"Yes. Just don't buy anything else from him." You flutter up into the sky with the tiara. "Now where is that guy?"
You could:
A: Go find that Crystal Check!
B: Turn in this tiara to Princess Twilight Sparkle.
Just as he starts to lower the tiara on your head, you back up skittishly. "Thanks, but no, really. It's too rich for my blood. I've never had bits to spend on trinkets like that." You glance around. "But thanks for showing it off. That was pretty nice of you."
He still seems somewhat confused as you walk away. "Yes, quite."
With him distracted, you trot away into the crowd. Now you just need to find something for you to get. Maybe some food. That seems a good idea. You spot a fastfood place offering hay fries and burgers of an assortment.
Just the thing to calm you down! You trot over with a smile, a bell ringing as you push open the door. A strange scent hits you right away. You hear somepony else as well. "Oh hello there! Are you here to partake in some wonderful fast food?"
You smile at the unusually chipper cashier. "Well, hello to you too." You head up to the counter. "Am I the only one here today? That's never happened before!"
"It's because everypony else is working or playing elsewhere." She flips a few of her lime green bangs away from her eyes. "Just us lazy ponies here today. Just don't tell anypony, ok?" She makes a dramatic shooshing sound. "But since it's only us cool ponies, what can I get or you?" She waves up at the menu above and its many options.
You're impressed by the sheer number of choices and look over each carefully. There's quite a lot that looks tasty. But where to begin? You click your thick tongue. "I think I want some of those classic hayfries, extra crispy. And a big salmon patty to go with it."
The cashier fires two hoof-guns at you. "You got it." She punches at her register. "Go have a seat and we'll bring it over there since it's so calm, uh, after you pay."
You enjoy a pleasant afternoon and manage to avoid all manner of shenanigans. What a lovely day to be in Ponyville.
The end.
You smiled at Twilight. "So, all of Equestria, huh? I don't suppose, you know, Equestria could spare me a few bits? I think my work deserves something extra." You clear your throat and glance up at the library's tall shelves.
"What are you saying?" She frowned, brows pinching together. "Are you asking for a reward for turning in some dangerous magic?"
You rub one leg with the opposing hoof. "I'd do it anyway, a good citizen and all that. But I sure would like a few bits for flying with some dangerous relic, you know?"
"Oh. I suppose that is reasonable." She moved back to her desk. "Let me just write a check here."
You stand around, looking at the other books she had on her desk. One catches your eye and you pluck it with a wing. "How to Rainboom? This is in a book?!"
She turned back, hovering a slip of paper over to you. "Hmm? Yes. Some things you can learn from a book. Most things, I would argue." Twilight looked quite certain of that. "But that book is classified as dangerous. It cannot leave here, nor can I permit you to read it."
You let the paper float in the air, eyes more on that book. "What if that's the payment? I have one little book. I'll even bring it back! Once I read it. That is." You beam with excitement. You've always wanted to perform an actual rainboom! You can't imagine something more thrilling!
Twilight crosses her forelegs with a scowl. "I didn't make it this far by being gullible, no matter how harmless you look."
"Please?" You bat your eyelashes at her.
She sinks miserably. "Fine, but it's your fault if you get—" You snatch the book long before she can finish. "Just—" And you're out the door not long after that.
The town is amazed when a pegasus slams into the ground at a speed they thought impossible to reach, at least going straight down. You got what you wanted, and will live on in stories for generations.
The end.
You soar ahead at the front of the weather team. Rainbow Dash it right at your side. "Let's bust this thing! Move!" The cloud you target is starting to rumble with thunder. A charge of electricity bursts out from it. You maneuver out of the way just in time. Others aren't so lucky. They are shocked by the errant bolt, but you leave ponies behind you to treat them as you head in.
"Hey ugly!" Rainbow Dash points her wings forward, dropping straight for the cloud. You follow close behind. "This is for everypony you hurt!"
Lightning shoots up at you both. You shove against Rainbow, sending you both spiraling away from one another, but neither charred by the bolt of sizzling electricity. She laughs as she regains control and whirls around to kick into the stormy cloud. "Take that!"
It feels like a tidal wave smashes into you. A chill pours over you as you plummet through the clouds, sky rushing by. Gritting your teeth, you refuse to let up the fight. You were made to be a weather pony, able to handle just about anything nature can throw at you! You spread your wings out wide and catch the air. You force yourself into the lightning cloud, pushing it back inch by inch. "Get out of here, stupid cloud!"
"Don't you know? Every cloud has a silver lining." You hear from behind you. It startles you enough that you lose control again. A quick glance shows Rainbow Dash at your side. She has her hooves crossed and head tilted. "Hey, have you ever tried a Rainboom?"
You flail wildly. "A what? Is now the, woah!" You narrowly avoid a fresh bolt. "Now the right time?"
"When is there a 'good' time?" Rainbow rolls her eyes. "Go on, try it, or not."
You:
A: Go for a rainboom!
B: Let's stick to just handling these angry clouds, no special moves.
The dragon seems nice enough, and perhaps you can convince her to let you go, or share one of her shiny scales with you. Besides, it is getting late. Surely your friends won't miss you for too long. You return to your gentle rubs, hoping a scale or two will just flake off while you do it. She sure does seem to enjoy the attention. "It is quite pleasant to have some company," she admits softly. "Dragons are known to be solitary creatures, but there are times when they crave companionship."
You tilt your head. "Glad I could help." You press a bit more firmly, leaning into the areas that seem to make her happiest with her growls and sighs. "Your scales really are something else. They're softer than most others, and they shimmer like rubies in the sunlight."
"I'm glad you think so highly of me," she murmurs. "Even if I am certain you have no idea what other dragon scales feel like." She casually rolls over, pinning you with a chuckle. "That would take some doing." She holds you under her tail, still chuckling at you.
You gasp and wiggle, but her heavy weight keeps you still. "What's your name?"
"For you?" She leans in, snout to snout. "Mistress, and don't forget it." Her eyes close as she rumbles with pleasure.
"Mistress? But I'm not—" Your heart is racing.
"Shh, I didn't say you could talk." She keeps you beneath her, her hands holding you quite possessively. "You're mine now. Be happy, I take good care of my toys. I'll groom you, feed you, and in time, we'll become closer. You'll come to love me as I love you."
It sounds a little like an imprisonment, but at least she's taking care of you.
You aren't entirely sure how to take this, but you won't be getting that scale back to Pinkie.
The End.
You pump a hoof in the air. "Glad to help!" You share a high-hoof with Spike before landing. "Need any help getting rid of that?" You gesture to the tiara floating in Twilight's magic.
She raises a brow at you. "Actually, I was wondering if you could take it to the lake and get rid of it. I would prefer it not be in the library where somepony could just put it on."
Spike grins. "I've seen enough bad stuff from them, but I don't want to remember this tiara either."
You accept the tiara with some confusion. "I thought you wanted to melt it?"
"Tempting." Twilight turns away. "But it's not my magic. It may react oddly to my trying. Just toss it in and forget about it."
The day is not too warm or cold as you wander away. You can't help but admire the skyline as you walk down the streets of Ponyville. The air is still, even as a gentle breeze rustles your mane. It is a fine day to visit the lake! Which is exactly what you plan to do. You approach the lake, relieved that there weren't any more lightning clouds. With a hop, you go for a short swim before tossing the tiara into the water.
As it sinks beneath the surface, a sudden surge of movement rushes up through it. A great river drake curls to look at you, the tiara tiny upon its head. It has bright purple scales and black eyes. Most peculiar of all are its legs. It does not have legs, rather just the tail. It does have arms, and expressive hands. "Well, thank you for the gift! I'd show you more, but we're playing hide and seek with Discord."
"Oh," you say as it dives back beneath the surface. "Bye, I guess."
Ponyville has had far worse days than that one.
You feel like you touched all aspects of an interesting day in Ponyville.
You wait your turn in line, dancing with excitement. "Do you think it's a good coupon? Maybe 75% off your first purchase?" You try to get a peek at the coupons fleeing with their ponies, but they were going far too quickly. "Maybe there's a special promotion just for opening day if you have one!"
Your friend rolls her eyes at you. "Are you excited or nervous? I know you like shopping, but this seems like a lot of fuss for one store." She leans closer, trying to figure out what was so special about it. "I guess I can't complain too much, I'm right here with you."
You both chuckle and chatter, trying to figure out what sorts of jewelry might be revealed when the store actually opened. As more ponies gather behind you, extending that line, the buzz in the air increases. What kind of deals will this new place offer?
At last, you get to the front, vibrating with excitement. The assistant stallion nods. "Here you go." He holds out a single ticket in his mouth. "Your coupon."
You blink a few times, accepting it. "Oh, thank you!" You take it and walk away, staring at the piece of paper.
Your friend slinks up beside you, just as confused. "I was expecting more fanfare."
"Yeah, so was I." You shrug. "At least we got one." You both look at it. It was a simple 25% off, though it was off all purchases made that day. "Not awful." You float the ticket away into your pocket. "I still want to see what they have, when they open."
Movement catches your eyes. "Is that a Pinkie party?"
Your friend tilts her head to one side. "Looks like it. Want to join the fun?" She nudges against you. "Looks more interesting than waiting for a silly coupon."
You:
A: Join the party!
B: Head to work.
You stiffly turn away from the new mother. "Wrong room," you barely mutter out, closing the door to prevent others from wandering in. You couldn't imagine that mother needed anyone else in there. She needed peace and quiet, so that her son could rest. That was more important than you.
You smile, wandering away and thinking about what you just saw. How she looked so very happy to have him, despite it all. There were sure to be plenty of ponies eager to celebrate the birth of their newest little citizen.
Nurse Redheart hurries towards you, motioning with her hoof. "Come on, you're needed." She turns back around to head to a specific room. You hurry along behind her as you come into an operating room with a doctor already at work, but he's an earth pony. You fall right into step, acting as his set of hands with a glowing horn.
He glances at you, sweat dotting his brow. "Thank you for joining us."
You nod your head slightly, not wishing to disturb his delicate procedures. It takes time and concentration, but soon enough, the patient is breathing normally. You put your magic away, proud of the help you gave. "Is that it? Did you need anything else?"
"That's it, but if you're free, we could always use some help cleaning up." He lets out a tired sigh. "Something keep you?"
"All kinds of things." You don't bother the doctor with the details, just cleaning quietly. "But I'm here now, and ready to help. I do hope my tardiness didn't get in the way."
He wipes his hoof on a towel. "Oh no, I just have the utmost respect for what you unicorns can do. There was a time where that magic would just not be around this town. Thank you for being here. The time to change is now, not tomorrow."
"Agreed, Doctor. Now, let's clean up so we can tell the family the good news." You pick up a few dirty towels, careful not to touch anything you don't need to touch. "Did they come with a family?"
"They did." With things cleaned up, he leads you out to the waiting room where a mare and a two foals are waiting. "We're all done. He'll pull through without a problem."
You head over to stand by Nurse Redheart as the doctor and the mare hug. It was a satisfying moment to be a part of. Their foals start jumping around happily at the good news. You lean in towards Redheart. "Any other patients waiting for me?"
She reports:
A: Discord Discorded!
B: Nothing too serious.
You gently push Pinkie back. "This is my day off. I want to relax. I'm going to go see my friend Applejack." You break away from her, determined to avoid any more of her ideas. "I'll talk to you later, Pinkie."
You speed along the road out of town. As you do, you slow down as you notice something a bit odd. Smoke is raising from the Apple homestead! You rush forward to investigate to discover the Apples out front, enjoying a barbeque, though they seem to be roasting various fruits and veggies, with a clear apple theme to it all.
Applejack catches sight of you, waving. "Come on over! It's nice enough out fer some grub." She tosses a watermelon off into a basket. "Takin' a break from chores to eat. Feel free to join in."
You meet Applejack with a firm clop of hooves. "Thought I'd come see how a fellow farmer was doing."
"Doin' mighty good!" Applejack waves at the sizzling grill. "Your timin' couldn't be better! Want some fruit kabobs?"
"Why not?" You accept one, eager to share their day. It seems as if the whole family is around, munching on all sorts of treats. You take a bite of the sweet treat, smiling. "Mmm, delicious."
Granny Smith eyes you as you eat. "Never thought you'd want to hang around with a bunch of Apples, but we'll have ya." She offers you another. "It's a good year fer us. It goin' well over at yer farm?"
You nod slowly. "So far, so good. I hope it stays that way. I'm thinking about looking into other ways to grow things."
"Well, let us know if ya need any help with anything. Apple family always looks out for each other." Applejack pulls you into a tight hug. "Good to have you with us."
That's the Apple family for you. Every time you see them, they're having some kind of get together or something.
It's nice to feel like part of a family sometimes.
At least until the sudden shrill scream.
Applejack looks around in a panic. "Wait a sec'! Where'd Apple Bloom get off to?!"
You peer into the chaos. Apple Bloom is not around, which is unusual. You didn't even notice she was missing. The rest of the family doesn't have any idea where she went either. It turns out she disappeared in the commotion.
You:
A: Take off towards that scream.
B: Trust in Applejack to handle this. She's a pro!
You are busy through the day, helping patients and doctors alike with whatever they need. You're soon approached by Redheart with an odd request. "Do you know how to hold things still?"
"What do you mean?" You tilt your head. "I use my magic all the time."
You follow her to a tall clock that's tilted a bit. "Oh." You grab it in your magic and use your hooves too to prop it upright.
Redheart moves in and does a quick adjustment. "There. That's perfect. Thank you so much for your help today. It's been such a busy day here."
"Anytime." You watch as she walks off to get back to work. You trot off in another direction, smiling. Sure, it's busy, but it's a good kind of busy.
You emerge from the hospital late in the evening, yawning with fatigue. Your muscles are sore, but that doesn't matter as you watch the first few stars appear in the darkening sky. You consider your options for the evening.
You:
A: Go straight home.
B: The tavern looks lively.
Actually winning the contest feels like way too much of a gamble. Instead, you watch the other ponies trying to balance eggs on spoons and you keep your eyes on that tiara, waiting for the perfect moment. You don't have to wait long, it turns out. The winner catches a loose egg as it slips off her spoon, then tosses it into the basket as she loses balance.
As all eyes are on the basket, you leap up to grab the tiara right off the pony's head. You scramble away with your prize, grinning. "That was easy!" The last thing you see before you rush away is the irritated face of the queen as you flee into the crowd. A moment later, you're encompassed by an angry red aura of magic. You're dragged back towards the front.
"Caught you!" The unicorn, still hovering, plucks the tiara from your grasp. "I will not tolerate this treasonous behavior." She gets it back on her head. "Better. Now, for you." She gives you a little shake. "Time for punishments!"
You struggle and writhe in place, but you can't escape her powerful hold. It doesn't help that all the other ponies in town are watching and doing nothing. Not even a few hoots of support.
Her horn glows with malignant red energy, but you don't see much of it, at least with eyes that can comprehend it. A few moments later, she's hovering a helpless pet kitten in the air. "Nopony expects a cat to be loyal. At least you're not lying now, hm?"
You open your mouth to protest, but only a plaintive meow emerges. She drops you on the ground. The Queen grins wickedly as she rises above you. "There. Be happy in your new life." She waves her hoof. "This commoner is free to go."
This is not how you want your day in Ponyville to end.
The End.
Applejack charges into the house and you stay behind at Apple Bloom's side. "Everything's going to be safe. She'll take care of it." You gently guide her away from the house. "For now, we should get somewhere safe."
She shakes her head, clinging to your neck. "No! I wanna see what's goin' on!"
You chuckle at her energy. "Sure you're not scared?"
"No!" Her little form trembles against yours. "Ah'm just..."
The sound of Applejack's screams interrupts everything. It's all you can do to keep Apple Bloom from rushing into the house, even as a white light emanates from it. You keep a firm grip on Apple Bloom as the light fades, and the sound with it.
A pony walks leisurely around from behind the building. "And now." She pauses, seeing you and Apple Bloom. "What? There should only be a filly here right now. Trixie planned this perfectly!"
Apple Bloom launches to the ground. "Trixie! What did you do to mah sister?!"
She huffs with annoyance. "I'll figure that out later." She leers at you, frowning. "You're not supposed to be here!"
You raise your brow at her. "I'm not leaving without two safe Apples."
"Oh, why didn't you say so." Trixie's horn glows as she smirks. "You can have those." A shower of apples rains on your head.
"Argh!" You try to fend them off, but there's just too many of them.
"You fool! I am Trixie! The most powerful unicorn ever! The map was mine by rights and you had no business taking it from me!" She laughs evily, only to turn into a yelp of pain. "Did you just bite Trixie?!" She kicks Apple Bloom away. "Trixie was going to be nice, but no more!"
You glare at her, just your head poking free of the pile of apples. "Don't you dare touch her." With a surge of strength, you send apples flying in every direction. You see Apple Bloom go sliding along the ground away from you, but that means Trixie has to face you alone.
"Stupid ponies! You don't understand how great Trixie is!"
You:
A: Counter her with strength.
B: Get clever about this.
You take a great stomping step towards Trixie. "You've gone too far today!" You lower your head and charge right at her. Her eyes widen and she scrambles out of the way. She doesn't seem to know how to deal with your direct attack. You slide to a halt beside Apple Bloom. "What do you want?"
Trixie raises a hoof, irritated. "To teach this little pony a lesson! How dare you steal from Trixie?!" She shook her hoof at Apple Bloom, leering at her. "You mud ponies may have brute strength, but Trixie has magic!" Her horn glows brightly, bathing the nearby area in bright blue light. "It is time for Trixie to punish you."
Apple Bloom presses up against you. "Don't let her hurt me."
"Don't plan on it." You dart forward, ducking under a bolt of angry magic. The rocks sizzle and melt where they were struck. "I won't let that happen."
"No more talk! This is your last chance!" Trixie looms high above you with the smuggest grin. "As if you stood even a little chance." She seems to think this was all some kind of silly joke. "Prepare to be smote!" Her horn glows and several large glowing balls surround her head.
You:
A: Take the assault dead on.
B: Use Trixie as a shield.
You march on Twilight's tower with recruited soldiers making a merry stamping of their hooves all around you. "Yes, loyal minions. Today we finish our conquest of this town! There's no room for a princess when a queen stands before you! Twilight Sparkle is through."
Your ponies stomp the ground harder in unison, chanting your name over and over. They push on towards the door to Twilight's library, battering it open easily under their combined weight. Inside they find her, lying back with a book in her lap.
She opens one eye lazily. "Can I help you?"
You clear your throat. "Today, you bow before your new queen!"
She laughs lightly. "Okay, what? Are you joking right now?"
"No joke." You step off your wagon. "A princess is only helpful when she is beneath a queen. I am that queen. You see where I'm going, hm?"
Twilight snorts, lifting her head to look at you. "So, you came to get rid of me?"
You approach, menacingly. "Oh yes. Why have a princess when you can have a queen?" You clap your hooves with a feral smile. "But I'm a generous ruler. Bow and stand beneath me, and we can avoid any suffering."
She slams the book closed. "I think not. Nopony makes Twilight Sparkle bow before them." She stands, head raised high. "I will take you down." Her horn glows and you find yourself at the business end of an array of swirling and deadly magical energy.
You:
A: Use your army as cover.
B: Counter her with your own royal magic.
You feel some of your energy returning. Sure, it'd been a long day at the hospital, but they sounded really happy at that tavern. Plus, you could use a drink after dealing with all those patients. With a new sense of purpose, you trot over towards the music and laughter.
Inside, the tavern is packed. You spy at least four dozen ponies having fun in the warm glow of the magical lighting. You gently work your way towards the bar, feeling readier by the moment to try some.
A quick check reveals you have twenty-seven bits in your purse. "How much for an ale?"
"That'll be five bits." The tender looks you over. "First time?"
"Yes." You place down the bits. "At least here."
He slides you a tall glass of amber liquid. "Well, welcome." He smiles brightly. "It's a fine time, I think."
You accept it with your magic and take a small sip. It has that punch, but leaves your insides warm. Your fatigue of the day is fading away.
"Hey!" A sloshed mare throws an arm over you. "There's a pony with the right idea! Wooooooo!" She waves her hoof for another round for herself and another ale for you.
The bartender glances at you. You nod eagerly, now that you're not alone in this anymore. You hold one ale between your hooves, the other in your magic. At least you only work on one at a time. "Berry Punch, always nice to see you."
She slides back from you a little. "Are we friends? Why didn't you tell me before?" She flops on top of you, licking your cheek. "Mmm, you taste like medicine."
You smile awkwardly at that. "I do work at the hospital." You try to wriggle free, but Berry follows your movements with amazing ease for being so drunk. "Having fun?"
"Heck yeah!" She plants another kiss on your cheek. "Maybe I'll go give some kisses to those ponies over there. C'mon!" She grabs your glass in her teeth and tugs you off your stool.
Your horn glows as you struggle to hold onto your drinks. "Hold on! Visiting hours are very over. No bothering the patients right now."
Berry looks around in a panic. "Patients? I just came for some fun!" She releases your glass, taking her own in her hooves. "Is that a party?" She rushes off, disappearing into the crowd.
You take a gentle sip of your drink, setting the second down on an empty table. Having a second glass feels like a bad idea. You don't need to end the day like Berry Punch.
Your evening's spent watching ponies and having a good time. There's a small band that plays for a while, before another group of ponies shuffle over to a corner to play a game of cards.
You scoot over and take a seat, joining them.
It wasn't how you normally ended your days, but you decide it had been a fine day in Ponyville.
The End.
You decide brute force wasn't the way forward, not with Trixie. Instead, you smile, determined to turn her own magic against her. "Okay, you're all talk." You clear your throat and pull back. "Why don't we just calm down and settle this without a fight?"
Trixie lifts an ear at you. "Are you surrendering then? Ha, Trixie was perhaps too hasty in her judgments. Of course Trixie will accept your surrender with open hooves."
"Well, sort of." You spread your hooves wide. "You see, I was wondering if you can do a particular feat of magic. You know, to show how amazing you are." You lean forward. "Remember the foal and old pony spell?" You remember her becoming unable to do that without her fancy amulet, and she sure isn't wearing that.
Trixie hums with thought, tapping her chin. "Oh yes, I do recall doing something like that. It was one of my first true works of art with magic. Truly it is a great accomplishment, especially for one so young as Trixie was at the time." It was only a few moons ago, but you didn't bother Trixie with facts. "Trixie has learned an even better spell. Do you wish to see it?"
You take a step back, making sure you're safely out of range. "Go right ahead."
Her horn glows brightly as she raises her hooves dramatically. "Trixie will show you just how powerful she is!" She lifts into the air. "Behold!" Her magic grasps you despite the distance, easily drawing you towards her. "For Trixie does not need her amulet to do such tricks. Even your pitiful abilities are no match for Trixie."
You pull against her grip, but she's too strong, and you have nothing to pull against, hovering in the air. "Let's see how powerful you are as you truly are."
With a puff of bright smoke, you hit the ground on four altered hooves. You've become a little deer. A fawn. "There, now you can tell the others how 'fawn'd you are of Trixie."
Despite your transformation, you manage a derisive snort. She wasn't funny, just dangerous. You try to speak, but only little deer bleats get out of you.
"Well, it was fun while it lasted. Don't let the door hit you on the way out!" She magically kicks as she turns. "Trixie has more important matters to attend to."
You're not sure you're fawned of this day in Ponyville.
The End.
You rush for the great sparkly mass that is Trixie, racing to slide underneath her before she finishes unleashing her magic. You graze the tip of her hoof, but don't take the time to aim properly. In a moment, you're under her and shoving upwards with all your might. It's not enough to get her off balance, but it does mess with her aim.
The bolts fly wildly, most striking the ground around you, but several smash into the unicorn on top of you, each with a pained yelp. "Ow!"
Apple Bloom giggles from where she sits. "You did it!"
"Not yet." You strike upwards with all your strength, catching the dazed Trixie right under the chin. She lets out a strangled sound and stumbles back, crashing down onto her haunches.
She spits, then shakes her head. "Argh! You've done it now." She raises her hoof. "How dare you treat a magician so poorly! I am the great and powerful Trixie!"
You lash out with your hind legs, catching her squarely in the stomach. "Enough from you!"
Trixie leans forward with a strangled noise, but you didn't expect her to have anything more in her. With a snap of her magic, she tosses up a shower of apples around you. They don't even land on you in a pile, just scattered around as she passes out. You nod at the fallen magician. "Sorry you had to see that. We shouldn't resort to violence like that."
Apple Bloom applauds your act. "That was jus' amazin'!"
"You think so?" You sit down, wincing. "Ouch, think I sprained something."
Apple Bloom looks uncertain, but her attention drifts back to the house. "Hope sis is okay."
You:
A: Head inside after her.
B: Owie! I heard you were a potion maker?
You wander back towards the town center. You can see ponies all having a good time in one of Pinkie's celebrations. Maybe she didn't strictly need your help? You head into the throng of ponies, just trying to enjoy the moment. "Don't think I've been to a party quite like this."
"Same here!" A drunk stallion bumps against you with a sloppy grin. "Pinkie sure knows how to throw 'em."
You slip away from that pony and head towards a friend. You see Bon Bon hanging with Lyra by the snack table. "Oh, hey there."
"Hi." Bon Bon looks around at the other ponies. "Not busy right now?"
"Doesn't look like it." You nudge her lightly. "That's why I came over. I wanted to be with the cool ponies."
Lyra laughs, smiling at you. "Is that why you hang out with us?"
"Maybe." You playfully bat at Lyra with a hoof. "Enjoying yourself?"
She shrugs lightly. "I still don't know what this party's actually about. A birthday? But for who?! Pinkie didn't say! It's fun enough though."
"It's always good to have a party." Bon Bon glances at you. "One of those things Ponyville does pretty well."
You lean against the snack table, munching on a cupcake as you watch the rest of the crowd. "Maybe the birthday pony's already here. Odd she wouldn't announce them."
"Probably." Lyra nuzzles your cheek. "Maybe the mystery's part of the fun."
You laugh at that. "When has Pinkie ever not thrown a great party?" You join in with the song playing nearby, having a great time.
At least until you hear a new voice singing along, right next to you. You start, realizing Pinkie snuck up on you.
"How'd I do? Is everypony having fun?!" She's got her eyes on you and she is grinning widely. "I saw you're not too busy right now, so maybe you can help me out?" Your halfhearted reply is enough to get her dragging you away to the center of things. "Everypony! The birthday pony is here!" She waves at you dramatically. "Took them a bit. I tried to get them away from work, but that didn't work. Thankfully, they came anyway!"
You go crimson. All those ponies are staring at you now. "Um, it's not my birthday."
Pinkie blows a party whistle in your ear. "It is today! And that means presents! Seriously, I know birthdays, and this is yours. Silly pony, all distracted by work."
You:
A: Go with it!
B: No, really, not my birthday. Silly Pinkie...
You tilt your head slowly at Pinkie. "Really, it's not my birthday. That's not for another moon. You're the one who threw my last birthday party!"
"Did I?" Pinkie frowns with thought. "Oh! Yes, that was a great party!" She grabs your foreleg. "But don't worry, I can throw you a different kind of party! It's like a... birthday-surprise party! You won't know it's coming so it's like a surprise! Don't worry about it."
You hike a brow at the nervously grinning pony before you. "Seriously, Pinkie." You press a hoof to her nose. "I appreciate the thought, and it's a nice party, but it can't be mine."
"Nonsense!" She points up at the banner behind her. "See? Says it right there. You can read, right?"
"Yup." You sigh softly. "It sure says that." You lower your vision back to Pinkie. "But I didn't write that. Pinkie, you were wrong."
"Me? Wrong? About a birthday?!" She clops a hoof to either side of her head. "Impossible! I am Pinkamena Diane Pie. I know birthdays. I have perfect birthdar! Nothing could be wrong about this party."
You turn away even as Pinkie dashes off.
You are Pinkie.
You just messed up a birthday! Sure, this wasn't your story before, but this is an emergency! You race down to your birthday cave where all your information is kept. What could have gone wrong?!
A: You find the pony who's birthday it actually is. Oh no, this is even worse!
B: Another pony with the same name was the mixup. They don't even live here anymore!
You come soaring in towards the biggest point of attention. You see some unicorn cackling with glee. They're laughing up a fit as ponies cower and flee.
You could:
A: ~~Go find that Crystal Check!~~
B: Turn in this tiara to Princess Twilight Sparkle.
You slap your hoof down on the drink selection. "On it!" You scramble away before anypony can question you on the pick. Getting a bunch of soft and hard drinks seems straight forward enough, but you're a little unsure about the exact amount of harder choices Pinkie had outlined. It was a birthday party! Surely softer drinks are more appropriate.
But maybe some ponies like those choices. You're sure you know of a few ponies that'd appreciate the stronger options. You set up the table with all sorts of drinks, including just water. You do make sure there's fizzy and not fizzy water with a nod of satisfaction. "Plenty of picks for everypony. I think I got this right."
A short while later, Applejack arrives with the snacks, sliding them onto the nearby table. "All ready for everypony ta get some food." She looks over your drinks. "Looks mighty fine t'me."
You chuckle nervously. "It was a team effort. Sure it'll be fun. Thanks for all your help."
She tips her hat at you. "Nuthin' much, pardner. Ah'm glad ta help mah friends."
You feel a flutter of excitement as ponies start to arrive. This is it! You did your part, and you made sure it wasn't something super stressful. Pinky parties are fun, but sometimes she goes a little extra.
You find yourself scanning the gathering crowd for that mane. "Sure hope she shows up."
A familiar face catches your eye, the hoof wave from her adorable. You smile back at Rarity. "Here's hoping I don't mess this up." You dare to approach the fancy unicorn.
But what was it you wanted to discuss?
A: Confess your feelings!
B: Actually, you just needed to put in an order for an outfit.
You hurry towards Rarity through the crowd of partying ponies. She glances over at you, sipping on a drink with a little smile. "Don't you look dashing?"
You glance back over your unattired form. "You're being nice. But that's what I wanted to talk about. You're always so nice, and kind. I, um." You fidget in place. "Rarity, I like you."
"Darling, I like you too." She fans herself with a hoof. "It's so nice to have friends."
"Not like that! I mean, well, yeah, but also more than that. Rarity, I'm not exactly smooth." You clear your throat. "You're wonderful, and you care so much. I want to be around you more." You lash your tail behind you. "Rarity, I, um. I want to court you!"
Her eyes widen. "What? Like... romance?"
"Yeah. Just figured I'd put it out there." You step away, face burning with embarrassment. "But I know, uh, you're busy." You flash a smile. "I just wanted to let you know. Because I respect you, and all that."
Rarity smiles lightly. "How chivalrous of you. Thank you, darling." She glances away and back at you. "And bold. I can appreciate that, dear, but, hm." She raises a hoof to her chin. "Honesty deserves honesty. I'm a bit averse to commitment. If you really want to try to be my boyfriend, I'm willing to give it a go, but I can't make any promises."
"N-no, that's fine." You dip your head politely. "I will prove I'm worthy of your time."
Rarity taps you on the chest. "There's no proving to me. You are a wonderful pony, and that is why I will be with you."
You smile softly. "Thank you. I'll do my best to live up to that."
Your words fail you as Rarity kisses either cheek, and the world itself fades as she goes for one on the lips. It feels like you're on fire, while bathed in ice water.
Would that more days in Ponyville could have such an electrifying end.
The End.
He approaches with the tiara but you put up a hoof. "No, thanks. I'll leave tiaras to the princesses."
He bows his head and backs away. "I understand. Perhaps there's something else?"
You consider the half-finished shop behind him and all the shining bits of jewel he's arranging. "Yeah, maybe." You scan the jewelry in an effort to distract yourself.
"Of course, all things can be bargained for." He offers a kindly smile. "Is there anything you like?" He moves to your side. "You get to be my very first customer."
"That is a high honor. One I'd like to live up to." You eye some of the better pieces, then see a smaller bracelet. It doesn't look as fancy, but there's a power to it. It's such striking bold reds and purples. "That one. It's quite pretty. Can I try it on?"
"Certainly." He levitates it over to you and slips it onto your foreleg. "Looks lovely. Perhaps some diamonds along your withers?"
You giggle at that. "I think I'm fine. I don't want to glitter randomly." You turn your arm left and right, admiring how the light plays off the bracelet. "But this, I like this! I'll take it."
"For your wife, perhaps?" He claps his hooves together. "For a price, I can inscribe a love message in there for you."
You fidget at that. "Oh, um, I'll think about it." You cough into a hoof. "I'd have to find a mare to take my hoof first."
He gestures at the window to the shop, where Rarity is walking past. "Ah, I see! Why don't you follow your heart, young one? That bracelet can amplify any pony's charm, if you so wish."
Your eyes light up with possibilities.
You:
A: Go try to woo a pony!
B: Be good! Enjoy the day with a new bit of bling.
You dart out from the crowd, galloping into a great jump. You can hear your hoof thud against the tiara an instant before you feel it, heart humping in your ears.
You land on the other side of the confused unicorn, dashing ahead into the bushes with only that impact to remember you by.
The unicorn barely has a chance to turn towards you before she collapses, dizzy. But you're not thinking about her. You just keep on running back towards Pinkie and her party preparations. "Pinkie! Hey!"
"Yes?" She turns to face you, even as you come sliding to a stop. "Didja get the goods?"
"Y-yeah, I got them." You hold up the tiara. "Some strange unicorn was wearing it."
Pinkie bounces up to you, snatching it from your hooves. "I am so thankful for your help. Everypony will get what they most need!"
You giggle at her excitement. You feel light on your hooves. You did it! You helped! Following after Pinkie, you've never felt more confident. You're practically prancing down the road.
"Excuse me!" A pegasus pony sails down to your level. "Did you happen to knock this tiara off somepony's head?"
Pinkie thrusts the tiara into their waiting hoof long before you can think to reply. "Don't worry! Everything is fine. It was just a friendly tiara exchange. All good now. Be sure to get that to Twilight!"
They take it and fly back up into the sky. You stare at the pink mare as she starts towards her preparations again. "Um." You hurry to Pinkie's side. "But, um, now you don't have it?"
"Sure I do." She presses against you. "It's where it most needs to be, promise."
You give her a doubtful look, but follow after her regardless. This has been a somewhat exciting day in Ponyville. At least you feel satisfied, and you have a party to enjoy!
The end.
You rush in at Applejack's side into the creepy house. It's covered in cobwebs, with a thick layer of dust coating every surface. It reeks of mildew and mustiness, and the very air makes you want to sneeze. It's chilly, but nothing moves as you enter the room.
Applejack glances aside at you. "Ah thought ah asked you to stay wit' Apple Bloom? Too late now. Keep yer guard up. We don't know what we'll find." She starts to move towards the other door in the room, only to flinch as you poke her in the ribs. "What was that for?!"
You cringe away from her, your eyes locked on a hole in the floor where some great force tore through it. "Look out! Something did that."
She looks down with a hiss. "Right. Don't wanna fall down there." She backs up and dashes around the hole. You trot along behind her, careful not to slip on the dusty floor.
Something growls beneath you, beyond that hole. A smooth tendril reaches up, trying to grab your hoof.
Applejack grabs you by the tail, pulling you back as more of those tendrils begin to rise up from the hole. "Eggbucket!"
You stomp the tentacle closest to you. "Get back! Stay away from us!"
"They're not gonna listen, sugarcube." Applejack tugs on your tail again. "We gotta run." She charges towards the next door, leading you into a dark room with a chair in the center. "It's just one thing after another today." She flops back against the door you just rushed through, keeping it shut.
"Maybe it's the house?" You can hear a thin whisper reaching you from beyond the door, but Applejack's bulk seems to be enough to keep the tendrils out.
Applejack tilts her head up at you. "Could be. But how do we take care ah this? We can't just hide in here ferever."
You look around the room for any kind of light source, but the window is boarded up. "I have no idea. If I see anything we could use, I'll let you know."
Applejack stares ahead at the chair, seeming not to have heard you.
You:
A: Use that chair!
B: Gotta be something else in here.
The chair wasn't wood. It looks like it at a glance, but as you come closer, you can see it's actually made of crystal. Still sturdy and solid, just crystal. The seat is soft, feeling almost like leather, though you can't tell what it really is.
Applejack stays by the door. "That thing could be dangerous."
"Maybe." You grab the back of it in your mouth and lift it up. "But not for us. I don't think we're gonna get away just by running. We gotta get rid of these things somehow."
Applejack stares at you in disbelief. "Are ya crazy? We gotta run away. Find Twilight and the others and get back home. Can't hurt anypony if they can't find us!"
You start towards the door Applejack's guarding. "There aren't many places left to run." It was time to fight, and you feel as ready as you are ever going to be.
She groans and drops to her knees. "All right. Ah see yer point. We'll have ta make a stand here." She shifts aside, freeing the way to the hall. "Ah'm right atcher side."
"Right." You head out into the hallway, chair held tightly in your teeth. You get halfway down the hall before you hear something move behind you. The other door slams open, more tendrils lashing out at you and Applejack. You bring down the chair with a startled yelp. The tendrils flinch back from it, retreating into the room again.
Applejack wraps her hooves around your waist, lifting you off the ground. "Looks like it works. Let's keep 'em busy while we run."
But you're feeling bolder. If the tendrils are scared of that chair...
You:
A: Bring the fight to them!
B: Get out of there with Applejack.
You chase after the closest tendril, waving the chair wildly at it. "Get back here!" You slam the chair into the ground, using its crystalline strength to pull yourself closer to that horrible monster.
It recoils every time you get close. Every slam of the chair gets a new flinch from it, leaving its fellows to deal with Applejack on their own. "I've got you!" You slam the chair again and land hard. "Take that!" You slam the tendril about to reach for her and it yelps like a puppy. The whole thing withdraws in a powerful motion towards the hole it came from.
Applejack kicks a tendril that tries to grab her flank, glaring at the others. "Now ah've got 'em." She spins around in place, smacking more of them with her tail. The tendrils draw back, not willing to challenge her after her display.
You hold up the chair in both hooves, putting it between you and the monsters. With it as a shield and a weapon, you start scaring it back towards the hole. "Go on, get!"
The Great and Powerful Trixie materializes from nothing, pointing her horn at you. "You can't frighten me!" Her magic crashes down on you. It feels like ice and fire at the same time, burning through your muscles and bones. You lift the chair for lack of better, and her magic scattered off it, splashing all across the room. She yelps as she gets caught in some of her own magic, the sprays stopping.
Applejack is not unscathed by the magical explosions. Her fur looks singed in places, and she reels back in pain. "Eggbucket! Trixie! When ah get mah hooves on ya."
Trixie is slumped on the floor, panting for breath.
You stomp towards the defeated unicorn and press the chair against her. "Enough. You quit or not?"
"N-never!" She laughs breathlessly, lifting her horn. "My magic is greater than you can ever hope to be!" She points it at you. The tip glows brightly before sending a pulse of light towards you. You know that trick already, parrying it with your chair and sending it flying right back at Trixie.
Trixie squeals in shock as her own magic bounces off the chair, encompassing her in its glow. She rapidly shrinks into a rodent form, becoming a little mouse with a mildly too-large hat. "This was not the plan Trixie had in mind."
Applejack tromps up next to you. "Got yer magic cancelled out." She steps on Trixie's tail, holding her still. "Ya won't be foolin' anypony anymore."
You level a hoof with Trixie's face. "Enough! Seriously. We're tired and worn out. We're heading back to town and you can say your sorries there."
Applejack grunts in agreement, looking around. "Glad them thin's ran away. Let's vamoose before they change their mind."
You saved the day, making this a fine day in Ponyville.
The end.
Pinkie giggles as she bounces around you. "Happy birthday! You've been so busy lately, you forgot all about it. I figured we'd give you a day to remember, and a nice party."
The crowd cheers louder at that.
Pinkie lifts a hoof high in the air. "Now, who's ready to part-ay?!"
It feels like the whole town's there, just for you!
You're surrounded by friends old and new. You dance with them and have fun, sharing jokes and stories, especially funny ones. You watch Pinkie as she performs, even as she sneaks around the crowd, appearing where you least expect her.
A song bursts out from somewhere, but you can't see who started it. One of your friends is singing, and soon, the rest join in. You start to sing along too, hoofs stomping on the ground, only for a cloud to crash into the party.
What pony could resist a good heartsong? Not you, that's for sure. You harmonize with the town as drinks are shared and cake nibbled into.
At the end of the day, you settle in with your friends, feeling warmed by the love they share with you. This has been one of the best days in Ponyville.
The end.
A pegasus pony, with bright yellow fur and a soft orange mane. Yep, it is all in order. You are looking as good as usual. With a chuckle, you move past the mirror and the ponies holding it up. They can't be bothered with acknowledging you.
You flutter your wings and take off, launching over the mirror and launching higher into the air above the town. A midday sun hovers in a cloudless sky, shedding light upon the ever-growing community below. Ponyville seems to be positively bubbling with activity!
It was only a moment before a streak of rainbows flashed before you. "What are you flying around like you're lost for? Let's go, let's go!" Rainbow Dash flies in loops around you.
"Alright alright!" You swerve after her as she leads you to a group of other pegasi. "What do we have to do today?"
Rainbow pointed down at the crowded town. "The schedule for today's a clear sunny sky. So far, so good, but—" She fixes every pegasus there a look as she thrusts a hoof away at the distant forest. "We have wild weather coming in hot, or wet in this case. We let that wander in, and everypony down there gets soaked and miserable."
"Right. Let's take care of this." The group of you start flying into formation.
Are you:
A: At the front
B: Covering the rear
C: Getting lost in the middle of the swarm.
A unicorn pony, with bright yellow fur and a soft orange mane. Yep, it is all in order. You are looking as good as usual. With a chuckle, you move past the mirror and the ponies holding it up. They can't be bothered with acknowledging you.
With a glowing horn, you help the mirror move along and end up following the ponies to where a new shop is being assembled. A new crystal store called "Cutie Mark's Collectibles."
"Oh look," the first mare says. "Here comes the special guest now." She lifts her head and gestures over your shoulder with her hoof.
"Perfect! I hope you have everything ready. I have an idea that will really set this place apart from any other," the new arrival says as she approached.
You have a look at the new manager, a slender earth pony. Like most ponies of Ponyville, he had neither wings nor horn. You are one of the rarest around those parts, with a magical horn atop your head. "Do tell," you invite. "I like the look of it already."
The building has large picture windows with two display dummies inside. One held a tiara. The other displayed a parasol. It looks elegant and refined already.
The manager walks up to you, the one that spoke. "I'm glad you asked. These crystals come from none other than the Crystal Empire itself. Each and every shard if authorized by Cadance, their princess. The quality just can't be beat! Look at them, touch them."
You feel the texture of the walls. It is very smooth. It reminds you of something else, like marble.
"I have to make this stand out from other shops." He moves in front of his door as his workers busily labor behind him. "So you can all enjoy its splendors. I do hope you all like glittering things. For your mane, or hanging on a leg, or even around your house. A little crystal can brighten your day!"
The first mare holding up the mirror thinks about it. "This sounds great. Do you think we could have a first pick of some things?"
"Oh, not only will you get first picks of the prettiest and most unique crystals." He leans in with a smile. Was there a crystal embedded in some of his teeth? You feel certain you spotted a few. "For being here today, you all get a special coupon for when we open!"
Mares in the crowd began to twitter with excitement. Even the one holding the mirror looked especially happy.
"That's right," he continued. "We'll be giving everypony a chance to purchase the newest and nicest crystal wear before anypony else gets their hooves on it." He curls on himself and pulls out a wad of coupons. "I have enough for all of you who gathered here nice and early today. One at a time."
You lean forward, eager to receive your coupon.
You could:
A: Wait your Turn patiently.
B: Strike up a chat with that manager as one of his workers hands out the coupons.
C: You have other things to do.
You nod eagerly at Pinkie. "I'd love to lend a hoof." You offer one just to make that extra clear. "How can I help somepony have the best day ever."
"Thank you so much!" She jumps into your side and pulls you close. "I knew I could count on you. Now what do you say we start with getting the supplies. And I need some special ponies for that." She mashes her face against your own. "Like you! You have lucky hooves and a good sniffer. It's an earth pony thing, but I got different gifts, and I'll be busy doing other stuff. Ready to join the awesome special pony squad?" She pointed over at a few other earth ponies apparently selected for the task.
You chuckle and wiggle your ears. "Yes, but what—" You don't get to finish the question, already being shoved over to join the others.
One of the other earth ponies, a smirking Bon Bon, laughs. "So, she got you too, huh? I'm not that kind of insane, so here." She pulls out a paper and puts it on the ground. "Here's a full list of what we need."
You peer at the paper. It listed a few simple things, stuff you're pretty sure you could get around town. But there were a few more exotic items too. Things you would never have thought about for a party. Some of them you just wouldn't have tried for at all! Really, the nose hairs of a tazlworm?
Who would be mad enough to go for one of those?
Bon Bon tapped at the paper. "I call dibs on the candy. I obviously have a source of that. What are you going for?"
You scan the list again and decide:
A: That nose hair can't be that hard.
B: A single scale from a blue dragon? Maybe they just dropped one?
C: Quick, run off and get the drinks. That looks less dangerous.
You slide over to the store's manager. "Nice place. What made you think about putting it here instead of some big city?"
The manager stands a bit taller. "This little town caught my eye years ago. It's just so close to Canterlot, yet its own entity, right? So many different kinds of ponies all gathered together." He waves at you. "You're a perfect example! In Canterlot, it'd be nothing but unicorns, but here you are, one unicorn among so many others, and my crystals should be enjoyed by all ponies of every tribe."
"Ahh." You grin as the idea was explained. "So, there must be something you were especially hoping to see your customers do with their crystal wares. Anything special?"
He tilts his head in thought. "That depends on which one. Some are to be worn, to glitter and make their wearer shine all the brighter, while others adorn households or even public places." He sat to clap once. "Where were you imagining having some?"
You blink and open your mouth. "Well, I haven't had any yet. How about we try one out? Like that one you're wearing." You point at a pendant hanging from a ribbon around his neck.
He raises a hoof over it sharply. "N-no, not that one." He laughs nervously. "But, since you ask, wait here just one moment." He spins and gallops away.
You tilt your head. "Hmm." Something about his attitude seemed suspicious.
The pegasus who just got her coupon let out a cheer and jumped for joy. Her wings flapped wildly as she hugged the ticket. "I can't even wait!" She smooched the worker and darted off, giggling.
The manager returns with a tiara balanced on his back. "For you, my curious unicorn. Doesn't it glitter? Wouldn't it suit you? Be a queen for a day!"
You sit on your haunches and gape at the shining adornment. You couldn't even imagine having enough bits to buy it!
Do you:
A: Let him put it on.
B: Politely decline.
C: Flee! Run! This is too good to be true!
You lower your head to put it in easier reach. "If you're sure."
He chuckles and pushes it over your head, allowing the shiny crystalline fronds to hang around your ears. "See? I knew it would be just your size. It looks so stunning!"
Your horn flashes and a strange rush of energy courses through your veins. The sound of rushing wind fills your ears. You look around and see that everypony there has been thrown away from you, right down the road. At first, you feel some amount of concern for them, but that feeling fades away quickly. Your vision is filled with dancing lights as your attention shifts.
"A most impressive display, master." The store manager grins widely at you, his expression filled with an inordinate amount of awe. "I knew I picked the right pony." He reaches up to that pendant he's still wearing. "Time for a real test run."
He holds the pendant up towards your dazzled form. "You are mine! Bow to me, oh mighty unicorn!" He looks more manic than before.
"But of course," you find yourself saying, bowing deeply. "What do you wish of me?"
"It is time we took over this little—" He doesn't get to finish, his pendant swatted right out his hand by your magic.
You bring it over, crushing it to dust along the way. "You were saying?"
He bares his teeth in a panic. "Why would you—" He backs up. "Get away from me!" He turns tail and gallops away.
You grab his tail before he gets far, giving it an arcane pull that has him sliding on his belly. "Bad pony. You tried to command me. Me! A god!" Were you a god this morning? You feel like one right now! Every part of you is screaming about how wonderful and powerful you are.
You drag him back and sit atop his belly. "Ponyville is not yours. It is mine. Everything here belongs to me."
"Please, no," he squeals. "I don't want to—"
You give him a cold stare, freezing him in place. You look to the others with a sudden smile. "Fellow Ponyvillians! Today marks a new and wondrous day! I will rule over you all with a kind, but iron, hoof." You let out a wicked laugh as dark storms drift in from the Everfree Forest.
You could:
A: Depose Twilight Sparkle. No room for two royal figures in one town.
B: Knock over Mayor Mare to assume full and proper control of the government.
C: Get defeated. Wait, why is this an option!?
You fly at the center of the wing, eyes on the stormy weather headed out of the Everfree Forest. "Nopony's getting wet that didn't sign up for weather patrol!"
One of your fellows, a stallion, laughs. "You said it! Let's take care of this so we can enjoy the sunny day with the rest of us." The wing spread out, different groups approaching different clouds. You stay towards the center, coming up on a big fluffy cloud that looks so very ready to let down way too much rain where it wasn't needed.
"Here we go!" You lift your wings high and—
Lightning flashes. You pull away in time, but the stallion next to you isn't as lucky. He cries out and is thrown away, wings spasming. A few others have the same reaction. You come veering back in, crashing against the rain cloud that had turned into a thunderstorm so very quickly. "Oh no you don't!"
You charge along the cloud, trying to press it away from Ponyville. "Go. Rain. Somewhere. Else!"
A spark of electricity bursts right from the cloud, racing towards you with surprising speed. It crashes into your wing, shocking you and throwing you off course. You smack into another pegasus who wasn't even in your area.
They catch you with a startled squeak and press you back onto your own wings. "This is a riot, huh?" They nudge you back towards your own cloud. "You got this."
"Yeah," you say and lift your wings high again. This time you take a little longer, flying at just the right angle, and slice through the rain cloud like a knife through butter. "Gotcha!"
Rainbow flashes just over your head, cutting it perpendicular to your own path. "Not a chance! C'mon, let's teach this fluffbutt who's really in charge around here!"
You smile as she guides you and the other pegasi. It feels great, swooping along and corralling the errant clouds away from town. You pull more and more until they are all moving in the same direction, safely away from Ponyville and the rest of your friends.
Victorious, you could:
A: Why did that rain come so suddenly, and storm like that?
B: You're wet and miserable, time for a break! Oh, maybe a spa day?
C: Rainbow Dash wants to chillax by the pond. Great idea!
One of the stallions dares to pout. A lightning bolt sends him scurrying away. "You must be confused. I'll help." With a cruel smirk, you head towards the great crystal tower. "Only room for one of us in this town."
You see others trying to stop you. They seem hesitant, no doubt awed by your power and magnificence. You knock them away, teleporting them all far out of town. "Not worthy of serving me."
As if conjured, two colts rush in at either of your sides. "How can we help you, our stormy and magnificent one." Snips dipped his little head low.
"Yea, what he said." Snails pulled off a similar bow, though with less grace. "We'll do anything!"
"Hmm." You smirk at them. "How about you go get me a proper chariot or something. A queen shouldn't have to walk around. Snap snap."
"Yes ma'am!" The two dashed away again.
Queen? Yes, that felt right. How did you not notice before? If there was one unicorn here worthy of that title, it was you. Speaking of that, you storm up the steps towards the tower. "Little princess, your queen has come to throw you out!" You kick open the door, only to see her sitting at her desk.
"So, you know who you are now?" Twilight's horn glows as she stands up properly. "You're not the first powerthirsty, relic-raddled, unicorn I ever saw."
"Oh really?" You blink at her.
"Well, the first was Trixie, but let's not get into that." She rolls her eyes and flares her wings wide. "You don't have to do this. It's your choice. Whatever relic you've attached yourself to, you can let go now."
You're baffled by her words. "What are you talking about?"
"Really?" Spike peeks out from the kitchen. "This again?" His eyes go up to your head and past. "The tiara. Take it off."
You reach up with a hoof and feel the delicate tiara still resting on your head. How could you forget? It's quite pretty, as fits a wonderful queen like you. "I see you have one as well, though yours is far less eye-catching. You must feel ashamed."
"Please, pony." Twilight tenses up. "You don't have to do this. Whatever dark power it has over you, I can help you get free."
"Why would I want that?" Using magic you didn't know just the day before, you produce a great flowerpot from nowhere. "I think it's time we settled down, little pony."
Twilight Sparkle, Princess of Friendship, refuses to stand down. She lowers her stance and even stomps her hoof. "What is your name, unicorn? I can't call you pony all the time."
It only hits you then that you're a little new in town. "Have we not met? How rude of me." You put a hoof at your chest. "I am─"
The door behind you smashes open, catching your bottom along the way and sending you sprawl across the floor. Your crown skids away. Snips and Snails come charging in with a giant chariot pulled along behind them.
Spike casually claims the dropped tiara. "I didn't expect it to end that quickly."
You're left with a blazing headache, but at least Twilight is ready and able to assist.
The End.
You turn the tiara about in your hooves. It's pretty enough in a sort of 'could be really evil' kinda way. You decide that getting it to somepony who knows how to deal with it would be the best thing to do with it. Twilight Sparkle always had the answers! You take off for her tower with haste.
Landing at the base of the tower, you nod to yourself and tap on the door. Spike opens it with a smile. "Oh, hey there!" He notices the tiara you're holding up. "What's that?"
"Not sure. This pony was causing trouble with it." You pass it over to him. "You know I'm not one for magical things."
He studies it carefully. "Totally! Magic is definitely Twilight's thing. We should bring this up to her." He holds it in both hands as he twirls around. "Let's go find her. I left her reading some books." He rolls his eyes. "A normal day." He trots into the library as you follow. "Hey Twilight, I found something!"
She closes her book and looks up at him. "Something worth reading? It's nice to have a break from that strange weather." She slides down from her chair and peeks out of her library to see Spike and you coming closer. Her eyes dart to the circlet. "What's that?"
"This pony brought it in." Spike holds it up to her. "He says it made somepony act evil. Could it be enchanted?"
Twilight looks at it with a furrowed brow. Her horn glows as she lifts it up carefully. "Made somepony act evil? That's awful." She brings it over to put it on a desk. "Perhaps we shouldn't touch it."
Spike and you watch her pace around it, but keeping distance. She pulls a magnifying glass out from behind her. You had no idea she kept one there. "There are markings along the edge here." She leans in carefully. "GPT?" She flops back on her haunches. "GPT." Her brows fall in a scowl. "G. a. P. T." She huffs with obvious irritation. "Trixie!"
"Trixie?" Spike shakes his head. "Why do you have such bad luck with her? And how do we fix this thing? It might be fun to keep, but I don't want it hurting somepony again."
Twilight's eyes narrow at the tiara. "It won't, not if I have anything to say about it." She floats it in her magic. "Melting it while nopony is wearing it is likely the best course of action." She turns to you. "Thank you. You've saved all of Ponyville, perhaps Equestria, today. Equestria thanks you."
You:
A: Request recompensating.
B: Celebrate your victory.
Flush with power, you march towards Town Hall. "I have a little civic objection to file." You shove your way in through the doors and up to the front desk. "It's about somepony not calling me queen. I'm thinking something like mandatory loyalty classes."
Mayor Mare looks up at you with wide eyes. "What? Ponies don't have—"
You grab Mayor Mare in your magic and force her up and over her desk, hovering in your grip. "The old ways are done. Say hello to the new ways. Starting with some retraining!"
She wiggles around helplessly. "What is wrong with you? How can you do this?"
"Magic, baby." You smile at her and give her a shake. "Now, let's start. Call me queen. Now."
She bites her lip, scowling at you as she grinds her teeth together.
You click your tongue at her. "Now now, don't make me get rough. That wouldn't be good for anypony, you included." You lean in closer. "The ponies like the job you do, and I don't want to have a new mayor. You do want to continue that little post, don't you? Even a queen could use a good mayor."
Mayor Mare starts to say something, but groans and buries her face. "Queen. Whatever. Just let me go."
You laugh with glee as you set her down and take her chair for yourself. "Very good! I am now ruler of this little town. Tell me, how many soldiers do we have at the ready?"
Mayor Mare runs a hoof back through her mane. "The town has no 'soldiers'. We have a few guards, but they are in the employ of Princess Celestia, not me."
"Fah!" You wave off that notion. "Princesses? Pssh! Nopony needs those." You open a drawer, trying to find something interesting. "Besides, she'll have nothing left once I'm done here. For now, post a 'soldiers wanted' sign out front for ponies to enlist in my new army. Chop chop." You clap your hooves for emphasis and return to your hunt.
Next:
A: You prepare a motion of your new army on that princess next door.
B: Forget her, go for Sunbutt and Moonwench!
With the weather under control, and you feeling wet and miserable, you bank towards town. "I'm taking a spa break, who's with me?"
The other pegasi cheer as they land in a neat line. You all keep your noses down and turn up the wind speed, sending yourself like a rocket across the sky. But there's one pony that isn't with you.
When you all land, you realize her presence, or lack thereof. "Where's Rainbow? She's not coming too?"
"Rainbow Dash isn't much of a spa pony." One of the pegasi explains. "She likes being outside more than just about anything. A warm bubble bath once a month is pretty much it."
The others shrug with noises of agreement. You shake your wet pelt out. "Well, fine. I plan to enjoy this. We earned it!"
The rest of you get pampered and cleaned to within an inch of your lives. You feel rejuvenated as you spread your wings. "That was great! Thanks everypony. Now let's head back!" But that's when you notice that Rainbow still isn't up in the sky. "It's not like her." You lift into the air, twirling back to the others. "Let's go check if she's still sleeping. That does sound like her."
A few laughs bubble up among the pegasi. One of them volunteers to join you in checking.
You stop at her house first. But there's no Rainbow in front, nor inside any of the windows. The two of you swoop past. "Hey." Your partner flies in. "What about the lake? She loves 'chillaxing' there."
"Hmm. Fair point." You look off into the distance, where the pond lies hidden from sight. "Let's check there first." You bank that way and begin to see ponies congregated together, looking scared about something. Rainbow wasn't with them, but you touched down anyway. "What's wrong?"
A unicorn from the crowd gasps. "You're a weather pony, right? Rainbow Dash was with us on the lake. Something happened. I think she fell in!"
Your gut tightens.
You:
A: Rush in after her!
B: Ask your buddy to help get the water in the lake out.
You let out a wild peal of dark laughter, power coursing through you. Yes, it is a fine day for a new Ponyville. "As my first act as queen, I need everypony to have their loyalties adjusted." You float above them, head high. "From now on, everypony will refer to me as your queen!"
You feel something get knocked off your head. You flop to the ground, power fleeing you. You don't get a good look at them, but some earth pony scurries away with your tiara. You grumble and get back to your hooves, panting as if you've been running all day long.
The crowd mumbles among themselves. Some seem irritated. Others have shocked expressions. It's as if they'd never seen somepony go nuts before!
You aren't exactly sure how to respond, with your old personality sifting back and with it, shame. "I... Uh... I..." You blush hotly.
Twilight Sparkle approaches you carefully. "It's alright, um." She raises a brow. "What is your name?"
"Uh. Well." You shrug your shoulders. "I'm still dizzy, Princess Twilight, ma'am. I don't really remember right now."
She holds her book up in her magic. It opens. She nods. "Ah. In that case, this should help." Her horn glows, hitting you with some strange magic. "The tiara scrambled some things. We're fortunate we got it off you when we did. Who did knock it off?"
Ponies mumble and nod at one another. It seemed nopony knew which pony had been the one to knock the tiara free.
Twilight leads you away for recovery, and the day is allowed to continue with just one more mystery for Ponyville.
The End.
A single blue scale from a dragon? How hard could that be?
You take off towards the mountains. If there's one place to find a dragon, that'd be it. Besides, rumors of them frequenting Ponyville came from the mountains. "If I was a dragon, where would I hang out?" You trot up along the steep path, your eyes on the cliffside for any hints of appropriate caverns.
You look over your shoulder at the pleasant town. Such a quaint place, and hardly anything bad happened in all the time you've been here. It made the most sense for dragons to make their home elsewhere, and avoid your new friends down there. There was one time a red dragon was chased off, but that was for making too much smoke.
That was before Princess Twilight started a school. You were pretty sure they even had a dragon attending it! They weren't blue though. That would have made this so much easier.
You keep along, but with all the openings, it's hard to be sure just which one is worth investigating. You peek into the dark opening of one, blinking as your eyes adjust. Nothing of note is within, just rocks and pebbles. With a sigh, you move on to the next, and the next after that. Much of the afternoon goes by before you find anything worth going over.
You climb up on some rocks to peer into a higher cavern. A strange rattling sound from within makes you pause. It sounded like some sort of bug? That was an appropriate dragon noise, right?
Entirely unsure, you creep forward as quietly as you can, barely scraping your belly on the rocks beneath you. You pause, holding your breath, but there is no further sound from within. You have to do this! The best present for Pinkie Pie is one of those scaly hides, at least one scale. You just hope that one dropped somewhere and you can grab it and run.
You poke your head in first, careful to move as quietly as possible. Your eyes dart about, trying to see something. Your ears twist this way and that, hoping to hear something.
That rattle sounds again. It comes from inside a rocky den. Some kind of red object is splayed across the entrance. It seems out of place. You come closer, stepping on all four hooves carefully.
"I'm still not interested," came a bored female voice. "I don't like big angry dragons. I retired next to the ponies for a reason. Buzz off."
Do you:
A: Approach the female dragon with your best smile and charm.
B: Stay quiet!
With a panicked cry, you and the other pegasus scatter to assemble the others. The only way to get the water out of that lake requires way more than either of you can provide alone. You might need the whole weather team for this. You gather them all in front of the lake. "Guys, we've got a problem. Rainbow Dash is in trouble!"
Surprised gasps spread through the gathered ponies. "Is she hurt?" asked a concerned mare.
"Is she—" began a male pony, only to be interrupted by another.
"What happened?" demanded a deep male voice.
You shake your head and stomp one hoof. "We have to act fast or she will be hurt." You point the way. "We last saw her getting pulled into the lake. We need to make that lake stop existing. Fast! Go, go!"
The weather team splits into smaller teams, each assigned with different aspects of this problem. With luck, it will be just enough to save Rainbow Dash from drowning, or worse. They all gather around the lake as another pony shouts out orders. The trick with moving that much water is the amount of teamwork and precision needed to get that much water going at the same time.
A cloud forms above you, tinted purple by the setting sun. A gentle rain begins to fall over the lake. You yourself swoop in to use your wing power to help keep the water flowing out of the lake and into that increasing shower that spilled out all around it. The mud begins to churn and rise with the displaced water, but you press on.
"Keep at it!" cries a pegasus. "We're making progress."
You shake out your wet mane, wings flapping powerfully. You can see the water line receding beneath you, revealing the bedrock that was hidden below. "C'mon everypony, we have to save Rainbow Dash! Every second counts!"
One pegasus pushes too hard, losing control of himself and dropping into the wet muck at the bottom of the lake. He groans as he pulls himself up. "Is that... Are those Rainbow's goggles?"
You hover in place, shocked. It becomes pandemonium as pegasi drop their flight and swoop in, desperately searching for any other clues of Rainbow Dash's whereabouts. A rainbow-maned tail comes out of the ground. Another finds a few flaps of her wings. All of her is there, but with more than a little mud to go along with it.
It's a wild panic as they scoop her out of the thick mud and roll her onto her back. You can't see her chest moving. Not thinking it through, you come in straight, crashing into her stomach and giving her a firm kick. Her body jolts with the force, eyes going wide as she coughs up mud.
You let out an almost delirious laugh. That actually worked! "Dash! You okay?"
She gurgles more mud, her eyes on yours. "Gah...What happened?" She didn't seem to realize just how covered she was in filth.
The other pegasi haul her out and you all carry her towards town. The crowd cheers wildly with joyful relief, their weather captain safe and whole. The one who had found her goggles takes them off and brings them back to her. "Your goggles."
She looked at them oddly, too confused to understand why they would be there. Despite that, she slaps them on, muddy or not. "Thanks, all of you. I thought, never mind. We made it, together." The crowd roars with booming joy.
You would keep it a secret who gave her that bruise on her chest. But you'd know who saved Rainbow that day.
The End.
Wasting no time, or thinking beyond that moment, you dive into the water with a splash. You kick furiously as you descend deeper into the lake. Bubbles dance up past you, popping out and rising to the surface.
At first you see nothing. Just muddy darkness. But then, movement. The slightest shimmering in the murky water. A single pale red eye pops open, hovering near the bottom. A muffled roar echoes from the depths, but you don't slow down. The eye twists to look at you, an eel-like tail flickering below it. It seems quite content with its place in the muck.
You make a flurry of bubbles as you circle around it. You try to grab onto the tail and pull it out, but it doesn't budge. You want to scream at it, but you need what little air you have. You bump into its scaly body, bouncing off as your tail twists and kicks furiously.
That eye gazes at you, studying you carefully. Its mouth is set in a frown that only deepens when you push off it to return to the surface.
You hit the surface with a great gasp for air. Your legs kick up water, your heart pounding with fear and adrenaline. You tilt your head back to see the gathered crowd staring at you. "She's down there! There's a monster! Help!" You dive right back down.
The monster watches you approach again, still frowning. It shakes its head, hair whipping in the water as you grab hold of its tail again. You attempt to wrestle it out of the lake, but its suction cups help it stay where it wants to be.
"You are stubborn," it speaks with surprising clarity. "Let go, before you drown." Its tail shimmies, breaking your grip. "I don't wish to harm anypony." It rises up from the mud, coming closer to you. You can see scales shimmering all across its body.
You clench your jaw, frustrated and determined. You swim forward again, grabbing onto its neck. With one hoof, you point at the bottom of the lake, trying to shout about Rainbow, but that's hard to do while keeping your snout shut.
The red eye narrows. "Stupid pony." It turns its head towards the surface. "Very well, let's get this over with." It takes off with surprising speed, moving like an eel through the water. Its tail pushes it up faster than your kicking could ever hope to match. You gasp for air, startled by the sudden rush to the surface.
While happy to have some air, you're too focused on your mission. "Rainbow is down there!" You point downwards. "A rainbow-colored pegasus. She's in the water! If you don't want to see any ponies hurt, help us get her."
The beast of a serpent stares down at you, frowning deeply. "I see no pony. Only mud."
"Well, check the mud. We know she's in there." You dive beneath the surface, kicking with all you have towards the bottom. The monster follows along behind you, barely moving its body as it keeps pace. You think you can see the bottom, or some dark shape lurking there.
You look up, unsure how far you have left to go. With a rush of water, the eel-thing rushes past you and lashes up the mud with the ease that you'd roll out of bed. The water becomes cloudy with it, but that also makes objects hiding in the muck visible, including one desperately thrashing pony.
You are relieved to see Rainbow Dash struggling against something around her legs. You swim faster, propelling yourself towards her and trying to break through whatever was holding her. Her wings flap, the clumps of mud flying off as she beats them against you. You close your eyes, thankful she was still moving. You're running out of air though, and your limbs begin to tire from all this work.
Whatever it was, it finally snaps free of Rainbow Dash, just as things start to fade.
You wake moments, or hours? You're not sure. But you wake up on the lake's shore with Rainbow Dash over you with her usual cocky smile. "You okay? Wow, that was intense. What were you thinking, diving in like that? Not that I'm not grateful, because that was great, but uh." She shrugs and helps you sit up.
You shake your head, trying to clear away the cobwebs.
Rainbow explains how some old junk got tangled up in her and pulled her down. "What a way to end a little dip."
She doesn't seem at all that worried about it, but you've gained a friend, or at least a few special points. You've had far worse days in Ponyville.
The End.
You march. Well, okay, you don't march at all. Snips and Snails are loyally pulling you along in a cart. Your soldiers march ahead of you as you ascend the mountain towards Canterlot.
At the very front, is a peculiar pony. One who talks to herself. She looks like a scribe. The unfortunate, unlucky one who would document your new kingdom. "In the year that has passed since the queen claimed power over the Equestrian Kingdoms, there have—"
You stop paying attention to them. You had just gotten there, but some embellishments were just natural. Besides, you had another pressing concern. At the top of the hill sat a heavily decorated fortress. From here, it looks more like an opera house than a castle.
There's no mistaking what this was. Canterlot and its gates. If you couldn't get past them, your conquest would be ended. With a firm glare, you demand the best efforts from your army. They push onward with a rising chorus of battle cries and horns blaring. The thick oak doors opened for you to walk right in.
Had they realized how superior your forces are compared to them? Probably. You came into Canterlot with great fanfare. The crowds cheer at your approach. You put on a winning smile and trot into town with your head held high.
Approaching you is Celestia, her wings spread and a smile on her face. You smile in return, wondering if she had come to personally surrender. That was the best-case scenario, but you know there were many alternatives. You just hoped they didn't involve your head being on a spike somewhere.
"Welcome to Canterlot," Celestia says as she opens her arms wide. "It is not often that we have a new princess, especially one that manages to uplift themselves, and come to me without aid. What a truly special pony you are."
You nod eagerly, excited by her compliments. "I appreciate that, Princess Celestia. I really do." You did feel more than a little relieved to have gotten this far.
"My sister had some words about you." She inclined her head at the castle. "You'll speak with her later, no doubt. But there is one thing missing."
Celestia casts a spell over you. It's warm and inviting. It touches your heart. And then the rest of you. Magic, raw and powerful, pours through you. Your magic wells up inside of you. You feel dizzy from the powerful rush. "What are you doing? This is incredible!"
She smirks down at you. "Go on, dear pony. Show us what you're made of." She flares her wings wide and steps aside.
You blink, then cease to exist, simply vanishing.
Celestia turns to the rest of your army. "I have sent her to the last and final test. If she passes, she will be a princess, accepted by all. If not, well, you have served your queen well."
The army cheers for her words. But then one says what they're all thinking. "Wait, what's that mean?"
Meanwhile, you look around in surprise. You're in a field of countless stars glittering all around you in every direction.
A ghostly figure forms before you. Luna becomes more visible as she steps towards you with no sound to her hoofsteps. She smiles softly. "Greetings, young unicorn. It is not often that a pony such as yourself is chosen to be a princess. A task not given, but one earned through great feats of valor and bravery."
You reach up, feeling something missing. The tiara, it's gone. You're alone, with only your own thoughts. "How did I get here? Great feats? What did I do?!"
"It is rare, but some have proven worthy. Others do not wish the burden of the crown, nor the demands of leadership. For some, it is a title, not a burden. The choice is yours." Luna leans in, touching her horn to yours. "But you are here. Be proud, for you are the first pony I have had the privilege of walking down this path."
"Where does it lead?" You look at all the stars and shimmering darkness.
Luna steps away from you, standing tall with her wings spread. "It leads to a future of limitless potential, and a place among the elite." She brushes your side with a stretched wing. "Do you feel lost? I have felt this. Perhaps this is why my sister chose me for this task. We will walk side by side. Tell me, how does this feel?"
"I don't know," you admit. You rub your front hooves together. "This all happened so fast. I remember, being just another pony. There was a tiara, and I thought I could, um, had to take control. I'm so sorry! I know I wasn't supposed to do that."
She moves around you, still smiling softly. "Perhaps. But you are here now. Perhaps it was destiny, perhaps the plan of some higher power, or the result of choice. Does it matter? What is done is done. Now you must make a choice." She put a hoof on your shoulder. "You are here, and regret the ills, and look forward, I hope, to better days. They are days you can help bring closer."
You nod. "What do I have to do?"
Luna begins the slow walk towards destiny, with you at her side.
Equestria would cheer for you.
The End.
Against your better judgment, you approach on uncertain hooves. "Just a pony, not a dragon, and not even angry at that." You laugh nervously. "Can we talk? Or do you want to stay here?"
The female dragon stands up slowly, arching her back. She shakes herself out with a huff of irritation. "What? What do you want from me?"
She comes into sight as you press into her den. She has shimmering blue scales and light grey horns. "Well, I wasn't expecting a dragon, let alone a girl dragon." You flush a little. "But, I was wondering if you had any shiny things I could use."
The dragon raises a brow at you. "Just because we like nibbling on gems, doesn't mean we have spares for any pony that wanders past. Why don't you look elsewhere? There are plenty of other mountain tops." She narrows her eyes at you. "Not enough room here."
"No no no, wait!" You grab hold of her tail, holding onto it so she can't just wander off. "You're the shiniest thing here."
She freezes at your words, looking confused, then angry. "What are you implying?!"
"I, uh." You have not thought this through entirely. "I'm saying you're a pretty dragon! Very shiny! Please don't eat me."
She snorts out a laugh, her tail twisting away from you. "It's not my nature to eat ponies, and not even tempting." She sinks to a seated position. "Curious thing. Most ponies would have run away long ago."
You stand up with a slight shudder. "So, um, I was really impressed by how lovely your scales are." You clear your throat and wave a hoof at her. "I would love to be able to make something from your shed scales. If you don't mind."
"Oh?" She smirks, a curl of flames emerging from her nostrils. "You are bold, or stupid, or just crazy." She laughs at the possible option. "Maybe all three? Which is it, little pony?
You try not to laugh at the fact that she seems amused by you. "A bit of all three. But I would still like to make something beautiful from your scales. They look very nice. No dragon's got scales quite as pretty as yours. They shimmer and shine like jewels, but feel like silk."
"Hmm." She crosses her arms over her chest. "How do you know what they feel like?" She sees you tense and her smirk grows. "As if you're brave enough to come find out."
You gulp hard, trying to push down the terror. She doesn't look at all like she wants to eat you, and is offering, rather than making demands. That's promising, right? It sure feels promising! You dare to take that first step, tail flicking. You swallow your fear and trot up to her side. "May I?"
"Knock yourself out." She still has that sly smile on her muzzle as you tentatively touch a hoof to her side. She is still at first, but leans against your timidly exploring hoof. "Harder, and a little higher. There. Hmm. That does feel good. Perhaps it is an honor that such a soft little pony would treat me like this."
You stop to stare up at her face. She looks... pleased? That was more than a little relieving. Though you had just made it up, she actually is nice to the touch. That she seems uninterested in eating you is making you relax. "May I? Um, make that jewelry?"
"Why should you?" She turns to face you entirely. "You just want to behold my splendor, and I'm right here." She puts a hand over your head, holding you firmly. "So I'll keep you, little pony. You'll get to see me whenever you want. And be groomed, and whatever else I get in the mood for."
Do you:
A: Become the dragon's pet.
B: Wait, no, Pinkie's counting on us!
You back away from the dragon, coiling as you back up towards the cave's entrance. "Actually, never mind. I don't need anything." You turn to leave, but hear a snort of flame from behind you. Your fur stands on end at the thought of it breathing fire. You break into a full gallop, a glint catching your eye. One of her scales, there, at the entrance. You dive down to scoop it up, only to skid along the ground outside as the female dragon emerges from the cavern.
Her nostrils puff out smoke. "What's this about?" She stops as she notices what you had picked up. "I will cook you! How dare you steal from me!"
"Steal?" You hide it under an arm. "Um, bye!" Arguing about it feels like a bad idea, and you scurry away with all the speed you can muster. You know you're still in danger as you head for Ponyville, but if you're lucky, you'll outrun her. The trees become denser as you draw closer to town.
You don't hear her flying overhead. You escaped! Victorious, you emerge onto the dirt roads of Ponyville. "Pinkie, I got the scale! But it was kind of dangerous. Still, that doesn't matter now! Here it is!" You proudly display your prize to her, expecting to be showered with praise and party favors.
But Pinkie is quiet. She takes the scale from you and adds it to a few other things on a sheet. "Almost." She paces back and forth. "Almost! We need one more thing, and it's a doozy. You've already done a lot, so I understand if you're tired." She pulls out a list. "But this is the most important ingredient."
"What is it? We've come this far. We're not giving up now!" You slap your hooves together to prove your point.
She sighs, rubbing her forehead. "Fine, fine. We're going to have to try to get a magical crown." She pointed at her head. "And I don't even know where to find one of those!" She squints with thought. "I guess a tiara would also work, but it's gotta be magic."
You:
A: March off to find a magical tiara!
B: You're done with that. Time to let somepony else handle this part.
That tiara had to be around here, somewhere. You wander into the crowd of other ponies. There sure seems to be a lot of ponies gathered for some reason or another. You come across that reason as you spot a unicorn laughing wickedly.
"Don't you understand? I am the Queen now!" The unicorn wears a crystal tira over her mane. She hovers high above the town, leering at everypony else. "I've earned this, so all of you must serve me."
You shrink down lower in the crowd as she goes on and on about being the true ruler of Ponyville. She seems crazy, but everypony is keeping quiet. You glance around for the closest cover you can find, slipping into some nearby bushes. You press yourself up against a tree, unsure what to do next.
You have to act. Besides terrorizing the town and your friends, she has a magical tiara right on her head. With that, Pinkie's party would be ready!
Leaping into action:
A: You rush out, knock it off her head, and run!
B: Convince her to give you the tiara.
You soar against the angry clouds. "No theatrics! Let's do this by the number, and get things back in order." Rainbow Dash is at your side, snorting with irritation. "Now let's fix this mess!" You split up to surround the lightning cloud from above and below.
With one careful pull of your wings, you spin around in a tight corkscrew with your hooves stretched forward. With the two of you working together, the irritable weather system begins to yield ground. Lightning cracks across the sky in an impressive display. You twist and dive through the clouds, fighting against their stubborn resistance.
With a few choice breaths, the cloud's thickness starts to thin out. With a last flap, you defeat the cloud, just to dart to the next most dangerous looking one. "C'mon, everypony, we got this! These storms are nothing to us!" Rainbow Dash calls out over the crackling skies.
You've got another angry cloud to corral. You soar around it, and you're not alone. All of you batter and twirl the cloud away from the town, raining out its inner turmoil as you disperse it with precise effort. Clouds drift out in all directions as you push your limits. The sun emerges, bathing Ponyville in a soft golden light.
All the weather pegasi fly in a wedge formation, gently pushing the last clouds away. You circle around with Rainbow Dash and wave a hoof at the retreating storms. "We did it!" You both exchange high-hooves, smiling wide. "What a way to start the day."
Rainbow shakes herself free of some of the water on her. "You said it. Alright, everypony! Emergency officially taken care of. Don't know about the rest of you, but I'm up for some chillaxin' time!" She loops around once, then darts off towards the pond. "I'll see ya later, huh?"
You touch down near the road leading back towards town, considering your options.
A: Go Relax with Rainbow.
B: You're kind of sore after all those heroics. Maybe the hospital's worth a stop on the way home.
You march out towards that hovering unicorn. "Ma'am, could we talk a little? There seems to be some kind of misunderstanding."
She leers down at you with a huff. "How dare you question me? I'm Queen now!"
"Yes, but..." You think quickly. "I need an audience with the queen. You do have to take care of royal obligations, right?"
She frowns deeply. "Hmm. Well, perhaps a small break would be acceptable. What do you want to talk about?"
"Let's talk about this." You wave a hoof over the crowd. You relax as she comes down to land on the ground. "As royalty, your people's morale is suffering. Um, we could make that better, I think."
The mare gazes at you, making it clear she has no intention of stepping aside. "Could we?" She arches a brow at you. "I suppose I've been awfully busy lately. What with my rightful ascension to power and all. How do you propose, loyal subject, this be addressed?"
You chuckle nervously. "Uh, well, what if we give them an exciting, yet friendly challenge? They could compete for some sort of prize."
"Hmm." She leers at you. "But where would we get a prize?"
Ah, perfect! You wave nonchalantly at her tiara. "Getting to wear that, even for a moment, would surely motivate your people. Such stunning jewelry and the brow it already rested on? They'd gallop for miles, ma'am."
The mare looks unconvinced, but doesn't disagree. She raises a hoof to her head. "I suppose I could part with it. For a little while. But why would I want to motivate my loyal subjects?"
"So they work harder for you, of course." You turn to the others. "Wouldn't you all like a chance to wear that tiara for yourself?"
The crowd perks up at that. You don't have to tell them twice. Everypony comes forward to chant their support. With just a little urging from the unicorn, they're all more than willing to compete.
Perfect, now all you have to do is:
A: Win the contest.
B: Get it from whoever wins the contest.
You push against the wind and rain. The weather has to be defeated, and Rainbow Dash is trusting you to try for a rainboom! "Alright!" You rise above the town, brushing against the worst of the weather. The storm stretches high above, filled with all sorts of terrible things. It's as if a fire inside you has been stoked to a blazing inferno.
You find as clear a path as you can in the angry gales and take it. Lightning flashes past you, and for a moment, you catch sight of a rainbow-maned pegasus struggling against the storm. You know you have little time to get it right, so you put your everything into pure speed. You tear through the skies as you build up momentum.
Your wings ache, as do your sides and back. Your body protests, trying to get you to slow down as the strain grows, but the rainboom feels so very close. With one last flap, you push yourself up as far as you can manage.
Lightning and thunder clash around you as you flail wildly, throwing out any notions of elegance or style. Rainbow Dash would be so disappointed, but if you don't do this, Ponyville is doomed. One of your wings suddenly flaps in a way it was never supposed to go. Dislocated, you yelp in pain and your speed just as quickly flees you. Gravity takes over. You plummet out of control towards the ground.
You have no control as you impact with a startlingly wet and soft patch of mud.
Warmth spreads across your back. Everything feels so warm, too warm.
It all goes dark.
You wake up some time later to Nurse Readheart's caring, if a little disappointed, smile.
The End.
You decide it's time to get to work and to stop being distracted. You excuse yourself from the crowd and head towards the front doors of the hospital. You'd worked here for years. As it turned out, having a unicorn on the payroll has worked out for them, and you liked helping sick or hurt ponies feel a little better.
Sure, you don't have a cross for a cutie mark, but that doesn't stop you from caring. Even if you are often underappreciated. As you open the doors to the building, your nose twitches. There's something different in the air today. The usual scents of healing herbs, sterilization solutions, and sanitizers still filled the halls, but there was a sweet wisp of something new.
You follow it past the Nurse Redheart, sharing a nod as you go.
Past her, down a hallway, you end up in a room with a mare cradling an infant colt. You pause with sudden worry. Were you about to charge in on a new mother?
You:
A: Leave her to peace.
B: Congratulate her.
You and your friend head towards the lively sights of the party occupying the full width of the street. It is filled with ponies having a great time. As you get closer, you can see there are a few different activities taking place all at once. There are a number of ponies that have gathered for a friendly game of frispie. The other section is filled with pony couples dancing in a small circle. And in the very center of the action, Pinkie is doing standup comedy.
She appears to be speaking into a blue scale, but she looks right at you as she does. "This one time, there was a pie and a yak..." You chuckle as you listen, content to do nothing more than enjoy the party. How Pinkie always ran such amazing parties was beyond you, but you're having a good time just soaking up those vibes.
The wind picks up, bringing the scent of a large sweet roll on its tail. Your mouth begins to water. A quick glance around shows a stallion carrying a tray full of freshly baked pastries. Mister Cake! "Well isn't he on time?"
You and your friend start off by talking about them as you head over to the table becoming burdened with delicious snacks. "They sure have great timing. I never noticed how tasty those things were until you got me one." You glance around, looking for some other treats, but mostly eyeing the jeweler's store. "When do they open again?"
Your friend checks the watch she isn't wearing. "I think a week or so?"
You sigh. "Another wait? But there are so many cool pieces in there."
Pinkie zooms up to you. "Oooh, I heard that! You like shiny things?"
"Uh, yeah." You chuckle. "Don't you?"
She shrugs, pointing at her mane. "Sometimes, but I kinda collect whatever catches my eye in the moment, ya know?" She throws an arm over your neck. "Now, Rarity? That mare, she loves herself some shinies!"
You raise a brow at that. "Oh yeah? Does she make jewelry too?"
"No no no." Pinkie waves a hoof in front of her face. "She loves the flashy stuff, but she does fancy dresses and clothes and hats. She's all about style and being pretty."
"Darling!" Rarity presses against your other side, smooshing you between the two. "Are you talking about me? How criminal!" She titters with laughter. "What is this I hear about jewelry?"
Pinkie shoves the scale she was speaking into in your face. "This pony wants to go shopping!"
"Shopping?" Rarity reaches around you to get at that scale. "Now this is a gorgeous piece. In fact, I think it'd go perfectly with a dress I was working on. Pinkie! However do you do it?"
Pinkie buffs her chest with a hoof. "A nice pony fetched that for me. I had a feeling you'd want it. Keep it, and show me what you make when you're done!"
The two kiss, sort of. You get to be the pony in the middle, and each kisses one of your cheeks as if somehow that made their lips meet. You're left burning hot, but you get to enjoy a lovely party with so many friendly ponies.
It was a fine day to be in Ponyville.
The end.
The mad queen's contest turns out to be an egg race. With some trepidation, you select a rather large one and carefully begin the race. There are some occasional chuckles from the crowd as your teammates slowly bumble their way around the track. You almost balance it with the spoon in your mouth, determination with every step.
But some others in the contest were determined as well. The heavy egg almost tumbles from your grasp as somepony shoves against you. You wobble but keep things steady.
"That was so unfair!" you hear some other pony commenting, but there's no time for that. Your prize is ahead. You just need to make it past the finish line before anypony else. It's not a far distance, but it feels like miles away as the wind picks up around you. You persevere though, and with a shove of your hooves, you cross the line with your heavy cargo and flop to your belly, egg still upright.
You lie there on the ground, catching your breath as the unicorn approaches. "I had a good feeling about you. Not everypony has the gumption to stand up to me. For that, you will be rewarded. Come, take the spoils from my head."
You lift a hoof weakly, unsure if you want to claim your prize. But she takes off the tiara. It falls from her magic, suddenly stunned, and lands right in your waiting hoof. You realize in that instant that you have what you came for and give out a laugh of victory. You abandon the egg and scramble to your hooves. "Thanks! I'll see you around!" You rush away, holding the tiara between your hooves. "Whew, Pinkie's gonna love this!"
You turn down the street to where Pinkie has set up her party and rush towards her with the tiara outstretched. "Pinkie!"
She accepts it, then plonks it right down on your head. "Silly billy, did you forget? Today's your birthday!" All the ponies around cheered for you.
You tilt your head up, utterly confused. "What?"
So ends a special day in Ponyville.
The End.
Chilling with Rainbow sounds like a fantastic idea. "Lead the way." You get right up beside her as you fly out over the calm waters of the pond. You glide over its surface, taking in the serenity of it all. It feels good to just relax and enjoy yourself.
You both touch down on the beach. She pulls out a cot and ties it up between two trees. "You got one?"
You did not, and admitted as such. "No biggie." She proves she has a second that she ties up right next to the first. "There. Now we've got somewhere to lounge."
You shake your head, glad she has it all taken care of. Rainbow is quite a lot more prepared than you gave her credit for. "You really thought this through."
Rainbow hops onto her cot with a satisfied sigh. "When it comes to chillaxing, you can never be too prepared." She glances at you. "Gonna lie down, or what?"
You come closer, testing the waters. It's soft, yet firm. You let out a satisfied sound and plop down on the cot with a deep sigh. Part of you is excited. It's not often you get to chill out with the leader of the weather team. You know this kind of experience was rare.
She pulls out some peanut butter crackers, offering you one. You happily accept. You stay like that for a while, basking in the warm sun and cool breeze.
A shadow passes over the both of you. "Is that you?" A serpant is coiled up and over you both, smiling at Rainbow. "I was about to get irate, but then I saw who it was. Rainbow Danger Dash!"
Rainbow bursts into laughter. "Steven Magnet! What are you doing in a little pond like this?"
"Oh, I came across it and figured it'd be a lovely place for a midday nap." He adjusts his position, lying on his side. "What do you say? Shall we nap together?"
You shake your head, amused at what had become your chilling buddies. "Sounds good to me."
Rainbow pulls down some dark goggles over her eyes. "Already ahead of you. Have fun."
You snuggle up against Steven, enjoying the feeling of his scales against your coat. They're soft and smooth, and quite warm in the sunlight. You feel an ache in your muscles as you lie down, then quickly forget about it as your eyelids grow heavy.
With the cot under you, Rainbow to one side, and a rather snuggly river serpent on the other, you enjoy a nice nap.
That was a fine day in Ponyville.
The end.
Sore from all that weather fighting, you land in front of the hospital and slowly walk inside. Nurse Redheart smiles as she notices you. "Hello, did you get into some trouble out there?" She stands beside you as you come inside.
You don't think it's too bad. "Just some storms." You wince as you lift a wing. "It was a bit rough, but we pulled through. I was hoping for a quick checkup."
Redheart looks you over. "Well, you've been in here enough to know the drill." She guides you down the hallways, stopping in front of an examination room. "Go ahead and change into a gown, then I'll have a look."
You pull on a gown. Why a pony had to get dressed to be examined, you had no idea. Properly garbed, you climb up onto the table.
"Oh, you're in the paper." Nurse Redheart gestures to a newspaper discarded nearby. "Sounds like things were rougher than you said. Good work out there. I'll be sure to make sure your personal effects are locked away while you're here." She starts patting you down carefully. "Let's have a look. Anything hurting?"
You hesitate before telling her where it hurts, as it feels silly. But she asks again and you give her the whole list. "Wings ache a little, some muscles are sore, and my face hurts from frowning at clouds all day." You squeak as she finds an especially sore part near where your wings meet your torso.
She seems quite concerned with that spot. "Alright, let's get to work on this." She brings in a second nurse who assists her with some kind of pressure points treatment. She has you lie down on your belly so she can reach the areas without causing more pain. "And just try to relax. Let me know if I'm pushing too hard."
The two of them prod and pull and push. You expect a lot more pain than you do get. There's some, but they're good at what they're doing. The two of them actually seem to enjoy working together to help you. After what feels like hours, you feel much better.
Redheart nods approvingly. "There, that should take care of most of it." She sits back on her haunches. "The rest can only get better with time, and you relaxing. No weather fighting until the pain is entirely gone, you hear me? It wouldn't do to have you injured out there because we didn't do a thorough enough job."
You sigh, contentedly happy with the care you've received. "I don't mind getting in here again for another one of those."
Redheart taps your nose. "No. You only come here if you get hurt doing the right thing. We will kick you right back out if we think you're coming on purpose." The other nurse nods in agreement. "So, keep an eye on yourself and come back if something gets worse, alright?"
"Sounds like a plan." You hold out a hoof, exchanging a friendly shake with the nurses. You shake off the examination clothes and hop down to the floor. "Thank you."
You head home with a smile. It was a good day of weather patrol.
You follow Nurse Redheart to a room. It was a room you normally saw patients recovering in. Today, it had Discord, watching you sternly. "Come here."
You tilt your head. "Are you really the Discord? Here?"
He rolls his eyes. "Do I need to prove myself to you? Fine, just for that, I'm gonna steal your magic." He snaps his fingers and suddenly you're completely empty. Your horn feels like it's not even there, even if you can see it when you look up.
A sudden shock of realization comes over you as you look down at your body. There's no cross upon your flank. "That's not funny!" You can't help yourself from feeling irritated. "Give my magic back!"
"In good time." He casually brushed Redheart from the room and shut the door behind her. "My little pony, you've been a lot of fun today."
You squint at him. "How so?"
"I've been watching you, here and there." Discord moves around the room in an instant, snapping his fingers. The world shifts and changes into a bizarre upside-down reality for a moment. You spot yourself, but it's not you. This you has wings, and is battling a storm of some kind. It's gone a moment later. "You've been in so many places and possibilities."
"Okay? I'm not sure I understand." You take a step away from him, and find yourself pressed up against the wall. "You want me to do something? Or just spying on me for your own amusement?"
He grins, clearly pleased with himself. "Watching has been fun enough. You've been bringing me all the chaos I could ask for all on your own." He ruffles you between the ears. "Good little pony. Sometimes you were good, and sometimes you were naughty." A new vision, you insisting on bits for a good deed from Twilight. "So very naughty."
"But, I mean..." You shrug helplessly. "If you wanted to help instead of spying on me, what would you have done?"
"I like watching you work." He leans back with a laugh. "Why would I help you? You're doing everything right. Why, look. You even found a reality where you get to meet me! Hm, does that make this the best possible day? If you ask me, I'd say yes."
You cringe as you realize that you probably shouldn't be speaking to Discord in this reality. The more you talk to him, the more you're putting it at risk. "Okay, fine. We met. Yay." You turn from him. "I'm going to walk away, and you'll give my magic back."
"I never said that." Discord floats up behind you. "After all, if you go around telling everypony that you talked to me, I wouldn't be able to watch anymore." He taps your inert horn. "On the plus side, I don't like getting violent these days. So this is fun for me."
You huff with annoyance. "What are you talking about?"
He waves a paw. "Oh, in some realities, I blow up your horn for daring to speak with me. In others, I give you a wish. You have such a lovely mind, coming up with so many different wishes. Some of them are very interesting."
"I just want my magic." You sag in place. "I want to finish my work and my day. Please?"
"Fine, fine." He vanishes from sight. "If you want it so badly."
It all returns at once. The horn upon your forehead returns to full vibrance, and so does the magic inside you. Discord is gone, and you return to work.
You finish your stressful, but productive, day in Ponyville.
You rush off without even thinking about it. There's a pony at your side, Applejack galloping just as quickly. "Now I know you're here fer real. This sounds like Apple Bloom alright." She pushes her hat up and leans forward, speeding past you.
You chase after her as you follow the sound of that scream to the very edge of town. Applejack seems to know exactly where she's going, even if you have no idea. But you trust in her judgement, rushing towards the screams.
It turns out to be an older house in the middle of nowhere. It looks rundown and maybe haunted. Applejack skids to a halt in front of it, waving a hoof for you to stop too. "Hold up! Apple Bloom! What're you doin' all the way out here?"
The filly bursts from the doors of the building. "Applejack! Thank goodness! You gotta help!" She gestures wildly behind her. "You gotta get in there and stop her!"
"Stop who? Who are we dealin' with?" Applejack glances at you, then back at her sister.
You march up to the filly and past her, putting yourself between her and the building. "What scared you?"
She trembles, looking away. "There's a mean mare in there." She wipes at her eyes. "An awful, horrible mare who did bad things! She wanted me to give her your map, but I said no, so she started yellin' at me and callin' me all sorts of terrible names. I ran out as soon as I could. But she might be comin' after me any second now!"
Applejack keeps an eye on the building. "Don't know which map they're talkin' 'bout, but they scared mah kin, so ah can't let that stand. You let me handle this." She stomps a hoof, snorting angrily. "Ah got this."
You:
A: Let Applejack advance and stay with Apple Bloom.
B: Stay at Applejack's side.
It's been a long day. Working at the hospital's taken it out of you. Deciding against being distracted, you walk towards home. It's an even longer walk home as you've already been on your hooves for hours and hours today. The only thing getting you through the last leg of your journey is a determination to get into your bed.
You pause, spotting some mail in your mailbox. With a hopeful little smile, you stop in front of it and lift the mail in your magic for a peek. One, two, three letters! They're from friends back home. At least the first two. You grin with delight and trot into your home.
You drop the letters onto your table and gather some snacks to enjoy with them. With those safely nearby, you use your magic to slice through the top of the first envelope. They wish you well and gush about how things are going with them even as they prod into how your life's going. "Aw, I should write back." You're already jotting out that reply even as you say it.
It takes a while, but you manage to craft a lovely letter telling them all about what you've been up to. Your life has been busy since you came to Ponyville, but it's good to hear from home.
The second is from your mom, asking is you've found that special somepony yet. That gets you laughing. She knows full well how unlikely that would be, given that she was the one who sent you away for exactly that reason. You let her know that you're still waiting for a miracle of love.
That left you with one letter. You slice it open with a sweep of your hoof and a twinkle of magic. It seems somepony who had been in the hospital went and bought you a day at the spa! "How lovely!" Being a hospital staff was often thankless work, but you appreciate even a little attention like this. "Maybe I'll take Redheart with me."
You shake your head, staring at the page. There's a brief note from the pony thanking you for your assistance, but it's scribbled off to the side. They didn't include their name. "Shy, or they just don't want credit." You flop from the chair with a yawn. "Either way, bed time."
You curl up with a smile. This was a satisfying day in Ponyville.
The End.
You're not a hero of the land, or even a guard. Taking off towards some scream where there are probably monsters or other terrible things? No thanks. You trust in Applejack's abilities as she gallops away. She is clearly confident enough in herself to be charging towards that awful sound. "Good luck, AJ."
You turn to Big Mac, who's also standing by. "Well, I guess we could just watch from here. That might be best, right?"
He doesn't seem so sure, but he remains still, peering off after his sister. "Ayup." He takes an uncertain breath. "Don't like it none."
"That's why Applejack went. She'll handle it." You look over at the Apples, hoping they're feeling better. "Anything I can do to help out?"
Granny smiles softly. "Kind of you ta ask, but ah think the fun's over fer today. Why don'tcha get home afore you get in trouble too?"
Big Mac tugs your sleeve with a frown. "C'mon." He sets off down the road, back towards Ponyville. You trot alongside him.
He walks you right back to your house and waits for you to get inside before he even moves to turn. He looks at you through the window a brief moment, then is gone back towards Sweet Apple Acres. You settle in to spend a peaceful evening at home.
As you rest, you think back on the day. It was strange to think that Apple Bloom got in trouble that'd make a scream like that.
You hope Applejack settled things.
The End.
You rush inside after Applejack. "What happened?!"
She looks at you with surprise, looking somewhat disappointed. "Ah was hopin' you'd stay with Apple Bloom." She catches sight of Trixie lying there. "Didja do that?" Her words are cut off as a tentacle latches onto her, and another on you.
You reach out to help her, but your limbs feel weak. Whatever this thing is, it has the strength to wrap around you like you're nothing more than a bothersome leaf in the breeze. That your leg is still sore doesn't help. You thrash wildly as it throws you about. Your eyes widen as it lifts Applejack above you, through a hole in the ceiling. It pulls her up towards its giant yellow eye. "Applejack!"
She's tossed away in an instant, crashing through a wall and out into the daylight.
On some level, you're happy. She's safe. Unfortunately, you can't say the same for yourself.
It lifts you up, studying you with that unblinking eye.
You try to kick that grasping tentacle away, but it's too strong. This is all happening so fast, you don't have time to think of a way out of this. Your struggles slow as the creature seems to analyze you.
Without warning, it tosses you into its mouth, arranged with far too many teeth.
That wasn't how you wanted your day in Ponyville going.
The End.
You meet Twilight's magic with your own, your tiara glowing along with your horn. She's no match for you now that you've mastered some of the most powerful spells in the land. It only takes a moment of concentration before you're both locked in a stalemate. "Cute, you think you can take me?" You make a swiping motion with a hoof, sending her crashing against one of the crystal walls of her castle.
She stumbles back to her hooves, eyes wide. "Stop this!"
"That all you got?" You snort with contempt as you close in on her. "No wonder everypony loves me better." You pick up Twilight in your magic to hurl her, but with a flash, she throws back your grip. "Wench." You hurl one of her beloved books at her, striking her across the cheek with a heavy thud.
Twilight collapses to the floor. "Ow! Why?"
You prance up to her and tap her head with a hoof. "Oh, but look at that, a princess brought low by one who knows how to take control."
"But, this is all wrong!"
You rub her mane, knowing she can do nothing to stop you. "Your superior gets to decide what's right or wrong. Last chance, are you giving up?"
"Nnngh, yes." Twilight lowers her head. "I'll step aside."
"Hmph, good enough." You pet her gently. "Mmm, a queen does look better with a princess. You're mine now. As my princess, I will have tasks for you."
Twilight nods softly. "I understand."
It was a day of great victory. You'd done it! With Twilight by your side, you have Ponyville firmly under your hoof. Together, you could achieve even greater heights.
This is a great day for Ponyville, and yourself.
The end.
You back away from Pinkie with a nervous smile. "I'd love to help, really, but I have work to get to. And a long list of errands after that." You glance at her, finding her ears downcast. "I wish I could help, but I don't think I can."
"Oh." She leans to the side. "Okay. Good luck!" She waves goodbye as you trot away.
You feel bad about denying her, but this was something important. Your little farm wouldn't run itself. In fact, you find yourself back out in the fields to pick up some of the crop you'd neglected while helping Pinkie earlier. It's relaxing work.
It also didn't take long. for all the ripe fruits to be plucked up. You take a moment to admire the rest of the farm. From your humble home to the nearby pond. All of it's yours, and that's not a small accomplishment.
You swipe your hooves together, still smelling of berries from the day's work. "One thing done. Let's see what else I have to do today."
There's a small bag of bits in your purse. You dig through it with a smile. With work out of the way, you have a few options.
You:
A: Hit the town, woo!
B: Maybe Pinkie still needs help?
You've done a full day of farm work. It's time to relax! You trot towards town with a smile. A bit of shopping and the library should make for a good night. "No helping ponies today, that's a promise."
There's a soft tap on your shoulder. You turn to face Cheerilee. "Oh, hi?" You did not expect to see the school marm, of all ponies. "Nice evening, huh? What's up?"
"Oh, I wanted to invite you to teach our class for career day tomorrow." She claps her hooves together. "Would you mind? Just one class and then you're free."
You incline your head. "Me? I'm surprised. I'd have figured Applejack or her kin would be way more famous farmers."
She waved that away. "They run an orchard, technically different. I'd like a farmer to have a turn. Somepony that tills the earth and raises produce."
You consider it for a moment:
A: That sounds fun!
B: Nah. I'm here to have some fun in town.
You groan, staring at the two pages. They had the same name, but one had left Ponyville ages ago, and one had not. One's birthday is today, and one, is not. You apply a hoof to your face at your mistake. "Some party planner I am!" You thud against the filing cabinet. "I need a different spot for ponies who move away."
But now wasn't the time to deal with that. The important thing was making this right! You'd planned to give her one present tonight, but she didn't want one, because it wasn't her birthday. It doesn't help that you have some other presents from other ponies. How do you get her to accept the gifts and enjoy her extra party?
You:
A: Hand out all the gifts, let everyone enjoy them.
B: Nope! This is all a lie! Gotta call it off!
C: Offer to take the presents yourself. They'll go to waste otherwise and that'd be sad!
You nod at Cheerilee. "I wouldn't mind stopping by and telling the foals about farming. Just have to figure out what to talk about."
"Just do whatever you're comfortable with." She offers you a cheerful smile, living up to her name. "It's a chance to share what you do. Share that passion."
You clasp your hooves together. "That's a great idea! Thanks for inviting me."
"Sure thing! If you have any questions, feel free to stop by and ask." She starts to trot off, then glances back. "Come by in a week."
A week? You let out a sigh of relief. For a moment, you thought she was trying to get you to come right now! You had some plans of your own that day, so you weren't sure you'd be able to help otherwise. "See you then!"
With a plan in place, you trot along with a smile. "It's good to help." But it was also good to play. You look around the dimming lights of the town, considering where to have fun.
The tavern's an option! Get drunk with friends, never a bad option. Maybe they were playing games too. You rub your hooves with the thought.
On the other hoof, you can hear music coming from elsewhere in town. The local philharmonic is doing a show. That could be lovely to just sit and enjoy.
You:
A: Music!
B: Drink!
You gasp with amazement. You find a pony fact sheet with an edit. Now, edits aren't that unusual. Ponies can change what cake they like or just get older. But this one? They changed their name, to match the pony who you mixed it up with. You did not make that alteration!
You sit there, considering what this means. Did somepony do this to frame you? Or did you really have birthdar failure?! "It can't be." You find your stash of cupcakes and start munching on them to calm your nerves.
With a flick of a hoof, you peel away at the scribbles. "What are you hiding?" With some work, the original name comes into view. "Rarity?!" You slump down against the files. "She was always hard to plan for. I didn't think she'd go this far to avoid one of my awesome parties! I mean, I still haven't given up on her."
But she has. And now she's free to celebrate in peace. "Who can blame her? Not even I would want to hang out with me all the time!" You fall in a slump, your mane going flat around you. "Maybe I'm not as good at parties as I thought I was."
You step away from the filing cabinet and walk over to the stairs, towards the outside world. You take a deep breath. "It's been a day. Time for bed."
This has been the worst party day in Ponyville.
The End.
You take a calming breath. "Channel your inner AJ!" You take a slower breath. "Shoot, pardner, can't do somethin' based on a lie!" You throw one hoof in front of yourself and nod. "Let's come clean. Everypony makes a mistake sometimes. Doesn't mean this wasn't a fun party." You stamp a hoof against the ground. "We've got gifts! They can go to ponies who want them! All we need to do is hand them out. We just tell the truth and there's no problem!"
You feel confident! Sure, it was a slip up, but that didn't mean you couldn't fix things.
Filled with renewed vigor, you emerge from your profiling basement and march on the town square. "Everypony's having fun! Let's keep that up." You clear your throat. "Everypony! Your attention please!"
You blink with surprise as ponies fall silent. "Well, that worked. I had this whole speech prepared." You trot over to the presents. "So, it turns out, this isn't actually the birthday of the pony I thought it was. If one of these presents are yours, you may take it back. The presents that are still here in an hour? I'm tearing them open and they go to whoever wants 'em! This party isn't stopping. Let's celebrate Ponyville and all the happy ponies in it."
Ponies clap and cheer at your speech. With a smile, you drift back towards the sidelines, keeping an eye on things. That is until you bump into somepony else.
"So sorry."
Oh, it's the original protagonist. Who you are again.
You pat Pinkie on the shoulder gently. "Looks like you're bouncing back, good. I didn't mean to make your evening bad. You're a good pony, Pinkie."
She beams at you. "You mean that?"
"Yup! Never met somepony as joyful as you." You nudge her lightly with a wink. "Keep up the good work. And I look forward to that party when it's on the right day." You give Pinkie a hug to show you mean it. "Let's have fun with this party you already went through the trouble of making."
Pinkie drags you off to join in the singing and dancing. You join in with gusto, doing your best to keep up with her. For the first time in a long while, you find yourself genuinely having a great time in Ponyville, and everypony else seems to be in the groove.
The end.
You hurry towards Rarity through the crowd of partying ponies. She glances over at you, sipping on a drink with a little smile. "Don't you look dashing?"
You glance back over your unattired form. "You're being nice. But that's what I wanted to talk about. It's past time I got a new look."
Rarity places a hoof against her chest. "Well, finally. I'm glad to hear you've finally come to me. Honestly, I was wondering how long you'd wait before getting my help, darling."
"I had things to do! Ponyville wasn't even my home a while ago." You fidget in place. "After this party, can you help me? I want to look at least half as fancy as you do."
She nuzzles your cheek gently. "Oh, don't you worry about that. We'll make you look fabulous. Trust me."
You're starting to get giddy with excitement at the idea. "Awesome. Well, I don't want to take up all your time, so let's enjoy the party!"
Rarity smiles warmly. "Darling, little secret." She leans in, voice dropping to a whisper, "I actually like talking shop, unless I'm not in the mood. I will inform you, dear, long before that happens."
"Right! Oh, gotcha. Good to know." You trot off with a grin, giving her a quick hug before leaving. "See you around, Rarity!"
She dips her head lightly at you.
You have even more to look forward to. This has been a fine day in Ponyville.
The nose hairs of a tazlworm? How hard could it be to get a few of those. Not even sure what one of those were, you trot off towards the nearest desert. There's probably one there. You hop onto a train and have a seat. "What a pony will go through just for Pinkie."
You contemplated as you rode on the train. At least you'd get a chance to stretch your legs and see a bit more of Equestria. Maybe you would get to show off your skills and come back with a great story!
Or maybe you'll get into trouble. You're no adventurer! You're a simple farmer! But that doesn't mean you aren't a hero in the making. It just means you can use a little help to get there.
The journey is only a few hours, but the sun and air feel dry. It felt like the desert you had stepped out onto. "Now where would I find a tazlworm?" You scan the desert for anything like a clue, but all you can see are some rolling dunes and cacti.
Well, this might be harder than you expected. Having no real clue, you head towards a local pony at a stand to ask for their help. They happily inform you that there's a nest of the creatures a bit away from town, if you can manage the hike.
With a thanks and a tip of your head, you head on down the road and try to make good time.
You:
A: Get there in a hurry!
B: Get interrupted by bandits.
Of course it couldn't be that easy. As you start to feel as though you're getting closer to your destination, a new group of ponies marches out from behind one of the dunes. They're lead by a lone mare. "You. Soft little thing. Just put down whatever you have and we'll let you trot on your way."
You blink at the strange pony. "I'm sorry, but I've got things to do. Like right now."
"Last chance." The pony snaps her hooves. A unicorn draws his horn and lifts you into the air with his magic.
You squeak, thrashing around in the air. "Hey! I don't even have anything worth talking about! I just need to get some hair for a party."
The mare blinks at this announcement. "Hair?"
"Yes! From a worm. A tatzlworm, specifically." You try to get your hooves on the ground, but you remain hovering. "Please? C'mon!"
The leader stares at you like you're insane. "What do you need that for?"
"I have no idea, I just needed to make it happen. It's a request from Pinkie Pie!" You tilt forward, still in the air. "Pink, earth pony, used to bear an Element of Harmony?"
The unicorn releases you with a blink. "Pinkie Pie? Ah, sh-"
"That's enough out of you, Shaggy." The leader peers at you curiously. "The one time I think there's a hoard to be had, and we find ourselves facing somepony on Pinkie business? It isn't fair." She stomps once in the sand. "Not fair at all."
You glance around nervously. "I'm not asking you to get it for me, just... can I go past? Please?"
The leader huffs. "I suppose that'll be fine. Look, if Pinkie learns we let somepony go up against the worm without our help, and we knew about it, she'd cancel all our birthdays! Forever!"
You pull a face. "Yeah, I know the feeling. Thanks. I'll tell her you were real helpful. Oh, and that I met a nice pony called Shaggy." You smile warmly.
The leader waves you onwards and falls in aside you. "I meant we're coming with you. Let's go take down a worm. I didn't even know they had hairs."
You consider it, but she seems intent. "If you really want to, but I don't think I'll need more than a bit of fur. I'm not gonna cut it."
She eyes you as you hike up one of the dunes. "It's a worm! How much 'fur' do you expect on the average worm? Let's go."
You:
A: Head on for a worm fight!
B: Lament the lack of a choice (this is not a choice, sucker!)
You march on with your new friends, feeling ready for anything. They lead you to a nest of four rather large tatzlworms. "There they are!" The leader looks at you. "Ready?"
"For anything!" You didn't come this far to lose to a worm. Even if it did have fangs, venom, and who knows what else! You race in towards the nearest one with a war cry. That's when you notice that the worms aren't small. You keep running, but they barely come closer. They're quire a distance away, and quite large.
The unicorn swoops in on a disk of air, lashing out with a blast of magic. It hits one of the creatures.
It lets out a hiss as a bit of its scales smolder.
You end up at the center of a pitched battle between the brigands and the worms. The brigands seem to know how to fight, unlike you. You rush back and forth across the battlefield, striking at any foe that wanders into your path.
You are brave. Or at least you try to convince yourself of that.
Finally, one of the tatzlworms has enough. It roars so loud you feel your fur going flat from the noise alone. It lashes out with its tail, smacking the unicorn aside. Then it opens its maw wide, lunging forward towards you.
It takes all your strength to push yourself away from the creature, avoiding its gaping maw.
It comes down just behind you, tearing up a chunk of sand with its fangs.
You look around at the scene of the battle. There are only two worms left, and the bandits seem to be in control. "Need to get those hairs before I go." But the worms don't even look like they even could have hair! They're just scaly!
One of the worms faces you. You quickly cast around for something that might help. A rock? Something?
A stray tail lashes out from one of the battles nearby, crashing against the worm's side and leaving a bit of a scratch. It's enough of a distraction for you to already be running away before it thinks to look back.
The second battle ends shortly after that, the leader slashing at the exposed underbelly of the final tatzlworm. It lets out a dying hiss, falling still. "Alright, alright! Now what was it you needed again?"
You exhale softly. "It's for Pinkie Pie. But... I'm not sure that tatzlworm even has hairs. I was kinda expecting, well." You motion towards your own mane.
The leader prods at the unmoving form of the worm. "Well, let's get looking. If she says they have 'em, gotta be around here."
You, the unicorn, and the rest of the gang all work together to examine the tatzlworm's body, but the only thing you can find are bits of sand or rock that stick to its scales.
You prod at one of its poison stingers. "What about this?"
The leader comes over to peer at it. "Good for a quick end?" She catches herself. "Wait a second! Did that mare mean a hair like somethin' you put in a drink?!"
You consider the poison needle before you. "I mean, maybe? It could be? Let me see it." You grab the stinger and yank with all your might. It slides out with ease. "I'll take a few of these back and hope she likes it."
You exchange hoofbumps with your new friends and you all wave as you start in your different directions. "Pinkie sure has a lot of friends."
With that mystery solved, you head back towards town, buying some travel sweets to munch on the way back. At least it was an adventure.
When you get back to Ponyville proper, you rejoin the ponies already mid-party. You look for Pinkie, and soon find her bouncing around with excitement.
"Didja get it? I hope you got it! I mean, tatzlworms aren't bad. Just wily. But they can have super powerful poisons!"
You hold up a hoof for quiet. "Speaking of poisons." You produce the stingers you brought back. "Here you go. Hairs from a tatzlworm. Promise."
Pinkie cheers at that, but you know she'd probably take anything you said as truth. She bounces about, just happy to have something. She grabs all the vials up at once and rushes over to the drink table. You stare as she mixes together every single one of the poisons with a wide grin. "Drinks! Good news is this should make the party even better. Bad news is if you drank this stuff straight, you'd be in for trouble." She tosses the stingers away, the poisons already put in the drinks. "Drinks up everypony!"
"Did she just?" You stand there, aghast. But before you can say anything more, everypony cheers, rushing in for some of Pinkie's tasty new poison juice. "Should I tell them?" Unsure what to do, you just excuse yourself.
You did your part.
That was a mildly confusing day in Ponyville.
The End.
You selected what wasn't a choice.
You were told there was nothing this way, but you selected it anyway. It's time to fight worms. What else could you even think of doing?
This is what we get for even presenting that as a choice.
True enough. So let's try again!
You're clearly going to be fighting worms, and when we said this, you immediately picked that option. We'll be rolling with that.
You choose the option to fight tatzlworms. Now you follow that option and you like it!
You:
A: Go fight some worms.
B: But what about... (glares)
I see you just don't want to follow directions. Maybe that means we're already a few choices ahead of ourselves. Let's give it a try.
The heat of the desert makes your fur stick to you. You think you hear the sizzle of sweat before it can fall away from your skin. Up ahead, you can see it, the goal of your mission! It's time to fight some worms! What else could you even think of doing?
You raise one hoof high and proudly declare, "Time to get some tatzlworm hair!"
There is nothing else to do, so you advance upon them!
You:
A: Fight some worms, obviously.
B: Be stubborn and don't fight any worms because you just hate the announcer and are likely an unreasonable person!
You just couldn't leave well enough alone. We were playing a perfectly fun game of choosing your own adventures. You'd pick one of the given paths, and we got to see silly ponies doing silly things. Some bad things would happen, but it was fine! There's no great adventure without any danger. But now? Now you've gone and ruined it.
We can't very well be giving you choices if there's only one way to do anything. You were supposed to move past this momentary gaffe and continue the game, but no! You had to keep poking at that invalid option.
It was only there because it had to be!
Well, now we have no choice but to actually give you something! Not much, but at least it'll make you look better when we finally catch up to the original choices. Hopefully. Let's get this over with.
Really. Fine, so you wanted a different option. You won't like it, but whatever.
So there you are, in Ponyville. It's a perfectly sunny day. Birds are singing, ponies are having fun, and you're off to find something to do. "All I need is a bit of courage!"
The fine folks at Sweet Apple Acres will know how to help.
You trot on over there with a gay little clipity clop. You've been meaning to ask Applejack for advice, but this is one of the few times you've actually found yourself on the farm. Your gaze travels up the trellis and you find Applejack tending to the apple trees.
"Howdy there, pardner!" She comes trotting up to you, just to pause. "Somethin' ain't right." She sniffs the air with suspicion. "That's odd." She leans in close, snuffing harder. "Did you step in something?"
"Not that I can recall." You tilt your head. "Is it that bad?"
She rubs her nose against your side. "Nah, I think it's better to ignore it."
But this isn't something you can ignore, you see.
My little pony, you've prodded me too many times. It's time we played a different game entirely.
I call it Choose Your Chaos!
This is going to be fun.
What a chaotic end to a day in Ponyville.
The end.
Rarity is not the prettiest mare in the town. That'd go to Fluttershy. But she was the fanciest, poshest, and one of the most fashion-forward ones. If she approved of your look, then other ponies would know you're someone worth knowing.
Rarity's white fur seemed to glow in the morning light. She turned, facing you, her sapphire blue eyes twinkling as you trot up to her. "Darling? You're looking especially radiant today." Her eyes fall to your new bracelet. "Ah ha! What a lovely little bauble you have there."
"Just something I picked up in town. I'm sure it's nothing compared to what you'd pick." You step in close, basking in her aura. "I'd love your input on my style."
"I'd love to have a peek, dear." She slid up to look closer. She doesn't know, but you turn on the bracelet's powers, amplifying your charm. "Oh, that's so nice. The beadwork is just lovely, and I'm in love with this color choice." She reaches out with a hoof, brushing it along your cheek. "Just not sure how well it suits you."
You recoil in surprise. "You're not?!"
Rarity laughs gently. "Darling, what you need is a dress to bring it all together. Something a bit more sophisticated." She points a hoof towards her boutique. "If you don't mind, I'd like to try a few things on you. It'll accentuate your new fashion and make it work with the rest of you, dear. Unless you're scared of something so simple as fashion?"
You beam at the chance to see Rarity's designs up close, and maybe get to try a few. "I'd love to. Do lead the way. Let's see what we can find."
"Wonderful!" Rarity marches towards her shop, looking over her shoulder at you. "It feels like a shame we haven't chat more before today. Really, darling, you feel like a pony worth knowing."
Was the bracelet working? You sure seem to be getting Rarity's attention! She is right about your fashion sense though. That's what you're here for! "Yes, I think it's time we get to know each other better. You're one of the best dressmakers in town."
You slip up just next to her. "But there's something else I wanted to confess."
Rarity turns towards you with a sultry smile. "Oh, yes?"
You hold up a hoof, bouncing out the words, "I like you, Rarity. Let's go on a date sometime!"
"Oh my." She fans herself with a laugh. "I never expected you to be so forward, but I do appreciate that." She kisses the tip of your nose. "A date, hm? I do like a night on the town. But, ah, I will say this." She leans in close, her mane brushing against yours. "I prefer to take the lead." She taps a hoof against the tip of your snout. "If that's a problem for you, then perhaps I'm not the mare for you."
You nearly melt into a puddle of joy as Rarity steps away from you. "Yes! Sorry. I mean, yeah. You call the shots and I'll follow. No problem here."
She chuckles, sweeping past you. "Don't worry, dear. Where I lead, delights follow." She brushes your snout with her tail on the way. "Come along. Let's see about that dress you were curious about."
It's one of the finest afternoons of your life. Rarity even includes a bit of grooming before and after, helping you to look your best. "What a vision of loveliness."
You:
A: Let Rarity take you where she wishes. She's the one in charge!
B: Wait, no. You want to be in charge. You set the goals!
You walk down the road through Ponyville, feeling like a million bits. The jewel on your arm glints in the light. So far, ponies have been giving you their attention. Mostly because of the nice bit of bling.
Just ahead, you can see the shape of another pony. Fluttershy sits on a bench, quietly watching a nearby patch of wildflowers. "Fluttershy! Hi."
"Oh, hello there." She waves at you softly with a wing. She doesn't take much note of your bracelet, but her attention was always more on the wildlife, like the birds she was watching at that moment.
You sit down next to her. "Taking in the beauty of the day?"
"Yes." She reaches out with one hoof to gently stroke the feathers of a bird perched on a branch above her. "They're really enjoying the calm weather. You should have seen it when it rained the other day. They were just so wet!" She glances over at you and catches sight of the bling. "Oh, I'm sorry. That's beautiful."
You beam with pride. You didn't expect Fluttershy to notice, but that she did! "I just got it." You swing your arm over and waggle your hoof. "Doesn't it match me?" You pause, thinking how you can make it more relatable to her. "Does it remind you of any animal?"
Fluttershy steps up closer to it, eyes wide. "Oh my, yes. Do you see these patterns here? That reminds me of some of the spots on the snail family. They're so shiny too, like those catfish from the river. And this blue part?" She brings her muzzle closer. "So gorgeous. Just like the flash of color on a macaw."
You dance in place. "It really caught my eye too. A snail though? I wouldn't have thought of that. Guess it makes sense when you think about it." You run a hoof along the patterns. "I just thought it was pretty. Not sure what it's made of."
Fluttershy giggles at that gently. "Ponies do that a lot. Animals do too." She pauses. "Well, ponies are animals, so that makes sense. Collecting shiny things because they're pretty, without worrying about what they're made of."
You pout, but you don't argue with her. "Yeah, I guess so. Anyway, I saw you and figured I'd say hi."
She peers over at you. "Yes, it's been awhile since we talked." She hops back up onto her bench and pats a spot beside her. "Would you care to birdwatch with me?"
You consider it. You really do. You like Fluttershy and just want to spend time with her, and that offer sounds so tempting. You did pick a side of the town in the hopes of seeing her. So how could you say no? "I would love to."
Fluttershy invites you to join her in the park, both of you having a pleasant afternoon watching the birds in Ponyville. As it turns out, she knows most of them by name, including the few that come to visit her for a treat. It amazes you that each and every bird has a specific name, beside what species they were. To Fluttershy, each was a specific thing.
"This is Benjamin," she'd say, stroking his feathers. "He likes to wear scarves." She slips a bit of red cloth around his neck. "Isn't that right?"
The bird squawks happily and takes off into the sky, cloth trailing along behind it.
"He'll wear that for a while," she giggles out, turning to you. "I, um, actually. I thought you'd have gotten bored and wandered away. Most ponies do." She scuffles meekly in place. "You really like birds?"
You consider your words before speaking. "I don't know if I could name them all like you do, but they're fascinating. All those different feathers, colors, and shapes. And what they do! Like that one that catches fish." You sit down in front of her. "But there's one bird that especially has my attention. She has pretty wings and a soft voice. I could watch her all day long."
Fluttershy tilts her head with a smile. "Me? Oh, you're just being silly."
"Maybe a little. But mostly it's because you make me feel happy." You brush your cheek against hers. "You really know how to fill a day with joy."
Fluttershy's cheeks are warming swiftly as you compliment her. "Even when I talk to birds?"
You turn your attention back to the sky, where Benjamin is soaring through the clouds. "Especially when you talk to birds."
She shuffles up against you, nuzzling against your side.
It promised to be a wonderful day in Ponyville.
The End.
You tuck the tiara away. "Crystal Check is going down!"
You zip away, looking for that crystal salespony. There he is, in the town square. You approach at speed, sliding to a stop and whirling about. "Found you! Why did you sell that super cursed tiara to that mare?"
He holds up his hooves, stepping away. "Whoa, I'm just a humble salespony! I sell all kinds of jewelry, but only the best! Like this set here." He gestures to a display of shimmering rings.
They are pretty attractive. You shake your head vigorously. "Hey, no distracting me! Did you or did you not sell that cursed tiara?"
He looks sheepish. "Technically, no." You glare at him. "I gave it away." He laughs tensely. "So, didn't sell it."
"Dude! Curses are serious business." You tilt your head, eyes narrowing. "Why did you give her that? You have to know what that thing does."
He shakes his head. "No! It's just some shiny stuff." He clasps his hooves together. "But we are friends, aren't we?"
You land in front of him. "Friends don't give friends super cursed stuff! Where'd you even get it?!"
"Bargained with an alligator. But that isn't important." He swishes his tail back and forth, humming softly to himself. "Now that you're here, why don't we go see a show?"
You roll your eyes at that. "Nah. Anything else come rom that alligator pal of yours? Why are you buying stuff from passing alligators anywho?!"
He huffs. "Well, they bring in some nice things. You'd be surprised what those gators find in the deep jungles. Why, I bought this from one, and then they bought this other thing from me!"
You roll a hoof, prompting him to start showing all the things he got from the gator. "Yeah, gonna go get Twilight to check this all over. If it's clear, you can sell it. But if not?" You float your hoof over your mouth. "That junk gets wiped from the world."
The pony groans at that. "You're worse than I expected. That was some good stuff."
You stick out your tongue. "I'll bring it right back if Twilight gives the clear." With a powerful flap, you take off with the suspect jewels.
You've secured the day for other ponies in Ponyville.
The end.
You go entirely still as the sounds of that dragoness reach your ears. You hold yourself in place, too afraid to move or breathe as she emerges from her cave with a great yawn. She stretches out and scratches at her belly with one massive clawed paw.
She sniffs the air, causing you to gasp quietly, then turn about. Her scales shine like jewels, catching the morning light. You just need one of those! But she doesn't look like she's heading anywhere for a while. So you stay where you are, stock still.
You can feel the damp dew from the grass beneath you. You have to try not to fidget or move at all as the sun begins to warm your body.
She turns back towards the inside of her cave, tail thrashing for a moment. You glance at it. That could work. It'd be big enough for anything the jeweler wanted. But, well, dragon tails are pretty dangerous. If you tried to catch one, there's a good chance you'd end up in its mouth instead. You hold back a bitter laugh, hoping she knocks a scale loose on her own.
Finally, she does go back into her cave. You scamper down from your hiding spot, nearly tumbling in your haste. "That was too close."
You take the opportunity to charge after the dragoness and head deeper into the cave. Your eyes aren't on her, but scanning the ground frantically. Just one scale! It's an easy job, especially compared to dealing with the dragon herself.
You pick up a scale from the ground, only to drop it in surprise. The body heat still remains! That must mean you're in her nesting area! A heavy, droning snore reaches your ears. There is a light emanating from another chamber. The dragoness is still asleep, taking up most of the room.
Trembling with fear, you carefully pocket the scale and start tip-toeing your way out as quietly as you can.
As you slip away, you swear you can hear the sound of the dragoness' tail thrashing about in her sleep. You pick up your pace, soon breaking into a sprint for the outside. The cool mountain air kisses you as if to congratulate you. You did it! You have the scale! You rush back to town with a joyous laugh. Pinkie will be so proud of you!
You hurry to see Pinkie Pie, having accomplished the task she set out for you. Rushing into Ponyville, you zip towards the town square and her party preparations. "I have it!" You hold up the scale, showing off how it catches the light. "You wouldn't believe how big that dragon is!"
Pinkie skids to a stop in front of you, yanking the scale out of your hooves. "Great job! The others are getting their things. Your job now is to relax and wait for the party." She bounces away with a happy laugh. "Such a clever pony you are."
You:
A: Be bothered that Pinkie wasn't nearly as excited about your success.
B: Enjoy your newfound status as a dragon-conqueror!
You follow after Pinkie. "That scale was really hard to get! And the dragon was a lot bigger than I thought." You pull to a stop, gaze falling to the ground. "I'm not sure if it was worth it."
Pinkie twirls around with a light giggle. "Well, you did what I asked. And that's the most important thing. It doesn't matter if it was hard, or you regret it, or even if it was boring! What matters is that you got the job done." She cups your cheeks between her hooves. "Thanks to you, everypony I had planned is going to get what they most want. I am so thankful to have you here."
You beam at that, cheeks burning. "Pinkie, don't say that. You're gonna make me cry!"
She pulls back with a light gasp. "No tears at a party!" She goes right back in, nose to nose. "I'm sorry if I didn't thank you properly. I didn't mean to! You did an amazing job."
She suddenly plonks to her bottom. "So tell me! Regale me with your adventure, brave scale snatcher!"
You clear your throat and trot in a circle around Pinkie. "Ahem! The journey started with this fair unicorn taking the train to a faraway land, seeking only the finest scales to decorate the finest of parties."
Pinkie blinked softly. "Hey, did you peek at my notes?" She pulls the edge of the page and casually browses a few other chapters. "Wow, you got into all kinds of trouble... Mmm, lucky guess?" She lets the edge go and laughs. "Silly pony. At least you found one of the good endings."
You freeze in place, halfway through a dramatic gesture. "Pinkie! What's that supposed to mean?"
She trots away from you with a bounce in her step. "Don't worry about it! Enjoy the party. I'll be naming you as one of the guests of honor."
You're both confused and excited by that news. Your hooves carry you off after Pinkie, but you can't find her. A stage has been set up in the center of town. A banner across the top declares, 'Thank you, Ponyville!'
Ponies gather around you, joyfully crowding and asking questions. They're all smiling and happy, and you can't help but feel the same way too.
This has been a wonderful, if exciting, day in Ponyville.
The end.
Having barely escaped that dragon, gotten the scale, and rescued the party, you feel you've done all that can be asked of a pony. Now it's time to enjoy yourself! You munch on a snack cake, nibbling slowly and savoring the flavor. It's quite delicious. Pinkie does know how to throw a good party.
"You!" A pegasus stallion descends from above.
You hop back in surprise, which opens a spot for the pony to land. "Uh, hi there. Can I help you?"
He smirks. "We saw how you just took that dragon's scale." He shoves a hoof at you. "You were going up there to mess with that dragoness!"
You pin an ear back. "W-what? I mean, sorta? Pinkie asked me to get that scale!" You point off in Pinkie's direction. "She said to! Look, ask her!"
He shoves you away with a wing. "Pinkie wouldn't let you hurt a fly!" He pauses, ears falling flat against his skull. "Metaphorically!"
You force an awkward smile. "I never want to see a dragon again, promise."
He glares down at you, reaching down to grab you with his hooves. "Enough talk. Let's take you up there and set things right."
He pushes you back with a snarl. You bat one of his hooves away. "Cut that out! I am not going up there to talk with that dragon about one of her dropped scales! I like my freedom, thank you."
"Bold words for someone so outmatched!" The pegasus marches up to you, slapping a hoof against your chest. "Tell the truth!"
You slap his hoof away. "It was dropped! Do you really think I could have pulled it off? I'd die of fright before I even touched it." You cringe at the very idea of actually yanking a scale free. "No dragons were hurt."
He pauses, eyeing you for a moment. "Fine. But we'll be keeping an eye on you." He flares his wings and takes off into the sky.
Well, that was rude. You huff and return to the drink fountain for a sip. "Ponies. No manners these days."
The unicorn from earlier, the one who sells jewels, appears from nowhere and wraps an arm around your shoulders. "Right you are, my fine fellow."
You cringe, but his grip is sure. "I don't want whatever you're selling!"
He laughs. "Nonsense! I only have the finest of wares. Surely you can tell that just by looking at me." He taps your side with his own, his gem-covered beard glittering in the light.
"Very nice." You manage to wriggle away and start trotting away. "Today has been too much."
You accelerate towards home, promising to sleep things off.
That has been one stressful day in Ponyville.
The end.
You did it! You saved the party and are the hero. You feel like a million bits as you wander around the town square and the other ponies putting up the finishing touches.
Fluttershy steps up toward the stage, meekly climbing onto it. "Um, excuse me? Excuse me?" She looks around, pausing when she sees you. She gestures for you to come up. You gesture at yourself confusedly, then scramble up to join her with a new smile.
Fluttershy seems relieved, one of her hooves dropping into yours. "Thank you. I never feel good about speaking to a big crowd." She turns back towards the milling ponies below, some still setting up the rest of the party. "I just wanted to say, that, well. I'm thankful for everything all of you have done today."
She continues on as the ponies slow down, looking up at her. "I know it must seem like we're asking a lot. Pinkie does get in that, um, excited mood. She means the best, really." She shuffles her hooves across the stage. "I'm not sure why some of you chose to help her, but it's better if I just let her handle things. But I am thankful. We wouldn't have this party without all of you taking time out of your days."
The crowd stomped and clapped as she finished. You laugh lightly and clap for her as well. She blushes at the praise, trotting back down to your side. "And thank you." She rubs her muzzle against yours. "For being such a great friend."
You color at the attention. "You're welcome!" You glance away and back at her. "But they never said who this party was for."
She looks away with a giggle. "My birthday! Isn't it silly? I tried to tell Pinkie not to make a big deal of it, but, well. She always makes a big deal of everything."
You start, tail twitching. "Really?! Happy birthday!" Other ponies echo the sentiment around you. Fluttershy nearly falls over from the response, chuckling nervously.
"Well, thank you all! It really means a lot." She peeks up at you from between her forelocks. "I'm really sorry you had to go through so much trouble. Pinkie told me you got that scale, from a living dragon! An adult living dragon! I could never..." She sank to quiet a moment. "I'm sorry. You did all that for me. Just for my birthday. You didn't have to."
You hold up a hoof with a smile. "You don't need to apologize for anything. I'd do it again, but even harder if I had known it was for you. And the dragon was still alive when I got there and left."
Fluttershy perks up a little at that. "Really? That's good. I'd hate to think a poor dragon was hurt just for me. Um, not that dragons usually need protection. Or anyone, really. They're just big."
"They sure are!" You trot around her, waggling your eyebrows. "Maybe one day we can see one together?"
She flutters in place at that, giggling. "Only if they can't see me. Dragons are fierce creatures." She leaned in a little closer. "I could tell you a little about them?"
Hearing some dragon facts from Fluttershy? How does one deny that?
This has been a rewarding day in Ponyville.
The end.
Despite having come unexpectedly, you step into the room with the new mother. "Congratulations. How are you and the little one doing?" You offer a gentle smile as you step up to the bed.
"We're both just fine." The mother offers a tired smile. "Just glad he's out now. Could you ask if his father is here yet?"
You nod softly. "Of course." You slip outside, heading back down the hall. You run into some of your fellow ponies in scrubs.
They pass you with a laugh. "Still doing rounds?"
"The mom wants to know if the dad's shown up yet." You point the way to the room. "Do you happen to know?"
The other nurse laughs at that. "Everypony on shift before you knows him. He won't be quiet. Just head out to the main waiting room and look for the loudest stallion. He'll be so happy."
You offer a polite smile. "Thank you!" With a pat to your shoulder, they continue on.
As instructed, you go to the waiting room. The receptionist points you towards one of the largest stallions you've ever seen. Part of you wonders at the size difference of the couple, but puts that aside. That's not for a nurse to worry about. You trot up to the large and noisy stallion that's busy boasting about his mare. "Um, excuse me?"
"Yeah? You got something to say about my wife?" He looms over you, huffing out his nostrils.
You step back at the tone, ears falling flat against your skull. "Actually, yes. She's delivered. Both she and the foal are safe, sound, and ready for a visit if you're up for it, sir?"
He grunts, not waiting for anything more before pushing past you towards the door. "I'm not going to keep her waiting."
You watch him go, then follow along behind. "Your son is a healthy foal."
"Of course." He glances back at you. "How would any son of mine be different? He'll be perfect. Better than everypony else."
"That's right. Perfect." You go ahead and slip into the room with him. "Ma'am, he's here." You wave to the stallion already rushing up to the new mother. "Visiting hours are until eight, and I have a feeling he'll want to spend every minute of that with you."
"Good." She groans as she shifts in place, still cradling her newborn. "I'm so glad you're here. Meet our son." She gestures towards the tiny little bundle. "We talked about it, but we still haven't agreed on a name."
"Yeah, it'll take a while. There are a lot of good names out there." He frowned faintly. "Didn't have any dream about him?"
She shook her head. "Nothing that stuck around. It'll come to us. Don't worry."
You can only watch in bemusement. You remember your first day as a nurse. There were quite a few new foals, with equally confused parents. "Don't forget, a name is just a label. You can, and so can they, change it later."
"Right." She strokes her newborn's cheek with a hoof. "A name is just something you call yourself."
You lean over, one hoof hovering over the filly's cheek. "So when he starts thinking of himself as a handsome little unicorn..." It's only at that moment you realize they're a little unicorn. Both parents are earth ponies. That happens sometimes, but it still can catch one by surprise. "You'll be able to call him that."
The stallion peers over you, grinning broadly. "Not yet. Wait until he grows into that title." He jabs your shoulder with a hoof. "For now, I think he's Little Puff."
The mother laughs gently. "Little Puff it is then." She glances up at you. "Would you mind going ahead and bringing us in some paperwork?"
"Of course!" You nod at them both and go to fetch the needed documents.
It wasn't a day of high stakes, but helping welcome a new little face to Ponyville feels like a perfectly fine day to have.
The end.
You allow Rarity to take charge as she leads you towards her favorite restaurant. Your thoughts drift as you walk along, but you don't allow yourself to get lost in them. Not when there are much more pleasant things around you. You finally glance at Rarity. "What a lovely place you've picked. Do you come here a lot?"
"From time to time. The food is delicious, and it has a nice ambiance." She gestures with a hoof towards the door, where an attendant stands. "Their tea selection is also divine."
"That sounds lovely. I can't wait." You step through the door that the attendant opens for you, taking a quick look around. It smells of freshy prepared meals, along with herbs and spices you can't identify.
Rarity follows close behind you, leading you both to a quiet table off to the side. The windows are set to the side, allowing for sunlight to spill in while giving some measure of privacy to the diners. "Now, darling, we should talk. You want to court me." She turns a hoof on herself. "And I am flattered, dear, surely I am, but we should discuss base rules."
You frown at that. "Rules? Is this necessary?"
She peers at you over her menu. "Yes, it is." She sighs softly, lowering the menu. "You need to understand. To begin, I am not a mare that takes obligations easily." She tittered at the thought. "Well, darling, besides business. Those are full of obligations and I oblige them. But, when it comes to romance, I cannot offer the same solemn oaths."
You push the menu up so you can see her. "What does that mean? Are you saying that I can't expect much from you?"
She shrugs. "I suppose so. The truth is that my heart wanders, dear. When my eyes are on you, I will rain praise and attention! But they will wander, and I may gaze at another. It's not an attempt to be mean, dear, I promise that. You're simply... not enough. Does that make sense?"
You look away, glancing towards the door. A handsome stallion just went in with a bouquet of flowers in his mouth. A pegasus. You shake your head, focusing back on Rarity. "That's a little harsh. How am I not enough?"
She smiles softly, reaching over to pat your hoof. "There's nothing wrong with you, darling. In fact, you're lovely. And I'm sure that many other ponies would be eager for your affections." She leans in closer, her gently scented breath washing over you. "It is me that has the flaw, that wandering eye. I won't make promises I can't keep, so I am warning you now."
You stare at your menu again, only able to process a few of the dishes on offer. "I guess that's fine. If I can't be the only one you love, then that's how it is."
She puts a hoof on yours. "Dear thing." She is quiet a moment. "But if you're sure?" You nod gently. "Then today, we celebrate. I will love you as if nothing else exists, at least for today, hm?"
"Yes, that would be lovely." You force yourself to smile back at her.
The conversation was subdued during dinner, and after, you both shared a kiss.
This has been a surprising day in Ponyville.
The end.
You're an earth pony! Surely you can take Trixie's dangerous magical bolts straight on. You're made to be tough! You hope.
She sends the bolts crashing down on you, and you try to weather them like a storm. Each bolt sends waves of energy into you, and soon it feels like your muscles are water, barely able to hold you up. But you force yourself to remain standing, as best you can. "You're gonna have to do better than that, Trixie!"
Trixie lowers herself, hovering down until your eyes meet. "Does she really?" She reaches out and taps you on the snout, and the world begins to spin, the very last of your strength leaving you. The world grows dark, your mind a blur of confused, spinning images. You're not sure if you're awake or dreaming. But one thing remains. You hear the voice of the Great and Powerful Trixie.
Maybe even an earth pony should do more than just take an angry unicorn's onslaught. Or maybe not. That's not something you'll have to worry about! You can feel your limbs shifting in place. Everything feels numb, like they're not really yours. The world is awash in color.
This has been a painful day in Ponyville.
The end.
You direct towards Twilight. "Get her!"
The great mass of ponies rushes at her, hooves reaching. A cry rises from their throats, voices high with fear and fury.
The ponies closest to her reach with hooves and muzzles, just barely brushing against her flanks. Twilight arches her back with a screech as they make contact. "Stop! Stop!" Her magic fizzles, unable, or unwilling, to just blast her friends even if they are grabbing for her.
They still hold onto her, not relenting in their grip. One by one, the ponies grab her and wrap their arms around her, forming a great hug. The circle grows tighter, hooves coming together in the middle of the pile. "There! Get her!"
Twilight whimpers, wriggling in the center of the mass. "I can fight them!"
You laugh at her words. "Like you are now? You look pretty defeated to me, princess."
She grumbles, curling up on herself as much as she can. "Fine! Fine! I won't hurt anypony!" Her magic flickers around her horn before dying down again. "So let me go!"
You saunter over to the heap of ponies and reach down to pull Twilight out. You toss her to the ground, standing over her imposingly. "I'm glad we have that sorted out. Now, as your proper ruler, it's time we set some ground rules, princess. You will not lash out at your queen. Very improper."
She nods quietly, holding her muzzle shut.
You are satisfied with this. "Second rule. You are to assist me. That is what princesses do for queens, hm? Make sure the nation is taken care of. That would be you." You wave a hoof in front of her. "I won't ask you to cause pain. I know how sensitive you can be."
Twilight flinched back at that. "You're going to do it then?!"
"What? No. Whyever would I do that." You laugh with pompous grandeur. "As a proper queen, I wish to rule over a prosperous nation. Come, assist me with that task. Let's remind ponies who their real queen is."
Twilight tensed at your words, eyes locked on the tiara you wore. "Yes... My queen." She cringes even as she speaks, but you ignore that. "I am honored to assist you."
"Indeed you are."
It would be the start of new days for Ponyville.
The end.
You look around wildly. Surely there's something besides a creepy chair to help you and Applejack get out safely. You don't find anything in the dark room, though. It seems like just another one of the dusty old rooms. "Nothing here. I think we gotta go back into the hallway."
"What?!" Applejack looks over her shoulder at where the sounds had died down. "Ya sure it's safe out there?"
"Safer than staying in here." You nod back towards the door. "Ready?"
She steps nervously away from the door. "Ready as ah'll ever be. Go for it!"
You shove your way out into the hall. The tendrils slither away at the sight of you, ducking down through the hole and disappearing. "Okay, that was creepy."
Applejack kicks the door shut behind you. "Not ta worry! More movin' and less thinkin' bout them creepies. That's our job." She follows after you as you begin to trot down the hall. You keep an eye on the hole, but no other tendrils reach out for you. It must not have been safe for them.
She keeps glancing at that same hole, just as wary as you that an attack could come at any moment. "Okay. We're almost to the front door. I hope that thin' stays put."
"Yeah, me too." You peek towards that gaping hole, knowing what horrors lurked just beyond that dark rim. "Come on, almost there." You continue your journey, step by step. Applejack presses against your side, seeking comfort in the face of such fear.
Just as you get close to the front door, you hear a terrible cracking sound from behind you.
There's no time for thought, only a panicked gallop. Both of you spill out of the house and dash away with startled whinnies.
You rush off, heart pounding, as you look back. There, in the distance, is that old house. It still looks rickety and ramshackle, but now a great tendril slithers free, waving in the air like a terrible flag.
Applejack turns in place, heaving for breath. "Where'd Apple Bloom go?"
Oh no. She:
A: Ah'm right here!
B: Is missing!
Apple Bloom starts digging in her pockets and searching the area. "Jus' one moment. Ah'll get you sorted out!"
A groan escapes you as you sit on your haunches. "Thanks. Sorry to drag you into this." You lean against the pillar behind you, relaxing in place.
"Not at all!" She giggles as she gets things together and begins grinding it together. "Yer helpin' me an' sis. Ah owe you a potion at least! Jus' one moment!"
You let out a heavy breath and settle in for the wait. You take a look around as you do. That creepy house is there, with Applejack inside. You can only hope that she's alright in there.
A sickly green glow catches your attention, shining from the old house. You struggle to your hooves. "Is... Is that okay?"
Apple Bloom squints towards the building. "Ain't sure, but here." She hurries up to slather the potion all over your worst ouchies. The pain rapidly recedes away. "Now, please, help her!"
"Yeah, sure!" You stumble over towards the door, huffing and puffing the whole way. With no other thoughts on your mind, you shove open the door and charge inside.
A surprised Applejack looks back at you. "Oh, there ya are." She pushes past you to the outside world. "Ah just finished with that varmint. How're thin's out here?"
You smile in relief. "Well enough. C'mon, let's get away from this place."
Apple Bloom follows along at your side, brushing up against Applejack. "It's good! They beat up Trixie, who was being an especially bad pony."
"Trixie?" Applejack looked around. "Where?"
It seemed Trixie had escaped to play a trick another day.
That was a tiring, but successful, day in Ponyville.
The end.
Apple Bloom pops up from the bushes she's hiding in. "Over here! Ah'd ask if ya took care ah that thing, but ah can see ya ain't." Her eyes were past you, on the tentacles flailing about the house you had just escaped from. "You two okay?"
Applejack gallops over to her sister, hugging her close. "Now ah am!" She pulls back with a snort. "This darn Trixie! Comin' in ta mess with us like this!"
Apple Bloom steps back and rubs her cheek against your shoulder. "Ah saw her." She pointed the way. "She was runnin' off that way. Figured it'd be best not to be seen by her jus' now."
You sigh softly, leaning against Apple Bloom. "Good call. We wouldn't want you getting hurt, right?"
Applejack nodded quickly at that. "Look, everypony's okay. Let's call that a win." She peered at that creepy house. "Let's get home."
The three of you walk away from that terrible old house, finding yourselves at peace.
This was a confusing day in Ponyville, but you feel reasonably accomplished.
The end.
